    I really enjoy this game.Visual and gameplay, all on top level.Plot very rude to player and his feelings, but if you can accept all that happens and just flow on story line, its pretty good story.

    So as a linear, story driven game, it fails on the most important points...
    It's a shame because the overall game mechanics are great, and there is a good attention to detail.

    It's sad to see all the 10/10 reviews. Since when does your gender or sexuality make you an interesting character.
    It is simply inclusion for the sake of inclusion.

    This gets a 1 because the graphics are good and some of the music fits certain moments. That is the only thing I can praise about this game. There are times where items that the characters bring directly into their face and up to the camera take a minute to pop in the correct textures so even the graphics are hindered in ways. The music has some very bland tracks and completely feels out of touch at moments where they think the audience should be feeling one way, but almost no one is. Apart from those obviously OK things this game is incredibly bad and poorly directed. The characters act nothing like you would expect them to or what they acted like previously. All the somewhat interesting or likable characters are thrown out of the narrative and everyone else left is unappealing at best, including the two protagonists. They make decisions that even a child would know is a bad one and then reverse that when the writers deem it convenient for a "message". A message should not exist at the expense of strong, reliable characterization and a cohesive, interesting plot. Everyone I have heard from or seen play this game has found the story confusing (due to random flashbacks within flashbacks seemingly placed in particular spots for no reason), uninteresting (to the point of not wanting to continue, changing difficulties to get through it faster, etc.), and has relayed that they felt completely disappointed in every single plot thread that was shown any serious screen time. The gameplay is better than the first but no one was praising the first for it's generic gameplay either. It feels average at best here, being just another, of the hundred or so, third-person, narrative focused Sony exclusives. If everything but the graphics and music is mediocre or worse why is this even a game? Just make a slideshow presentation with stock music in the background, at least that wouldn't have disappointed so many people and made even more lose faith in Naughty Dog as a competent developer.

    If a developer made a really good looking model of a pile of **** with generic music playing in the background then asked me to play it for 25 hours and wanted my thoughts on their "game" I would give it a 0/10 but these devs actually thought their pile of **** was special and seriously worked on it thinking it was special and had a message, so for that I can boost it up a point. I'm feeling generous, but the vast majority of people who finish this game won't be as kind, and they shouldn't need to be. Stop deleting negative reviews and stopping others from being posted. If you're going to double check random low scores you should be doing the same with random high scores, but seeing the lack of moral fiber from previous instances involving this site, and reviewers in general, I doubt that will happen. I don't get hyped for games much anymore, but I was looking forward to this game. Unfortunately I was let down with the the execution of the story and lack of innovation to this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If it wasn't a Last of us game I wud give it an 8/10. But because it is a last of us, game it is not enjoyable to play. The game was about Abby, a Carakter i hated because she killed MC.
    We as Player, as Joel, have judged all of humankind to die under Zombies just so we can be happy with Ellie, why shut we start caring for our Enemies?
    The Carakte felt no loger the same. Joel was easely exekutet and Ellie no longef feld the same.
    Abby rund the game 10h of something i don't care about.
    Cons:
    1. in my eyes the trailer implied that Ellie's girlfriend will be killed and Jole and Ellie go to avenge here. I bought the game expecting Joel to die in the end ore give him a minigfull end, the chance to lay our live down for Ellie maybe.
    2. The start is good, i don't remember to mutch. What I do remember is that I hade a bead feeling withe Abby. From the first time, the saw the City that sadly never left. Even thou it was spouse to change in the 10 + hours game time. with only 3 likable side Characters, the Mel, Leve, Yara, whas it way to long and dragt out i skipt nearly all the cut scenes because i was so bord and wanted beck to the real story of ellie not knowing that Abby wut last 10h. (i realy dilikte playing as Abby whitch let to disinterest in the story).
    3. Joels death made me feel empty no faith no noting just butchered in front of Ellie. It felt random and lackluster, there was no will for vengeance, just disepeutment.
    4. Instead of Joel we go out whit Dina where we get some sweet romantic interactions, who in my eyes wher dullt, because Joel was supposed to go whit Ellie.
    5. The on of romance with Dina and Jesse was to mutch, it made me question (like Joel) the intentions of Dina and if they were genuine.
    6. Playing Abby against Ellie was *****, It felt forced and as Player you felt as if you were Playing out a bad dream. You only Play in hopes it will come to a and where you whin (Ellie wins) but that never happens. I have trite to Kill Abby but nothing changes.
    7. Tommy gets to live an Joel is dead.... Make Joel appear and then go to kill Abby then 8/10 game.
    8 The ending feels disgusting, the last of us made you feel something. 2 it is just sadness ore noting. Molstly confugen or noting the hole game trou. The end wher you just fell sad and emty is not a Game i what to play

    1 Ellies face looks so goofy in the flashbacks just jus the old model.
    2 I miss breaking looks, save feels repetitive mix it up with both.

    4 Whapans where not rewording and ammo where to scars at the end. Rushing the Hospital as Joel with an MP was fun. As Ellie, there was no ammo even thou you got an Mp what was in the fits game the sine to go hame on people. Felt to slow ant to repetitive. To many carts, they felt spammy.
    5. boss fits felt sometimes random and the big Zombies was not intuitive. I failt a lot bevor i randomly hotshotet on hade on the Zomby 2 sek after a new try it felt not rewording.

    7. Boss Zomby was to dark no way to mover felt frustrating and luck. The last of us 1 Sports hall was brigt and easier to understand.

    Musik!!!!! Wher ist he clasik Musik i mist that so much. The world felt boring and empty i never noticed the Musik.

    Pros: Story
    - Ellie being gay is modern and felt to me not forst.
    - Jackson was nice shut have ben just more.

    The Game wut be good if it was a stand alown. The carakters where new you did not care much about them and the story was presented in a way where you where mate to hate the character and afterwords supposed to like em because of 10h of gameplay.
    No revenge no Ending not to goot. Felt empty

    Call it "Evel and Lesser" and make it a separate game 8/10 maybe if you have not playd 7 years of Joel and Ellie.    … Expand

    It’s a terrible excuse of a story, Joel was out of Character, they weren’t creative at all, I’m deeply saddened, with an even worse ending I slept all day and woke up at midnight to play this since I pre ordered it, I Wish I didn’t waste my money

    The thirst game was one of my favorites. Second is pathetic excuse for the first game. The plot is horrible, characters... i have no words to describe how disgusting they are. 2 scores just for graphic. I was your loyal fan. Sayōnara, Naughty Dog.

    For Neil Druckmann to teach you a lesson about revenge is more important than a well-written and coherent plot!

    All this hard work that developers put into stunning animations, graphics, sound and fluid gameplay mechanics is completely ruined by an awful story

    Oh and by the way, all of a sudden Ellie is a psychopathic maniac just to push this stupid narrative

El juego sinceramente es sobresaliente, la jugabilidad aunque al principio del juego pueda parecer aburrido, el juego va de poco a mas, gráficamente una bestia. Pero porque le doy un 5 raspado? Porque sinceramente no es un juego de suspenso, pero después de unos días de razonar el final del juego me a defraudado muchísimo. Y no me refiero a la muerte de Joel, al contrario la muerte de Joel me parece lo mejor de la trama para captar la atención del jugador. Ese momento en el que matan a tu protagonista no lo había sentido desde la muerte de Ned Stark o Robb Stark en Juego de tronos. Pero me refiero a la conclusión de la historia, Ellie lo pierde todo, desde Dina que la abandona hasta los dedos de la mano por lo cual no podrá volver a tocar la guitarra, el instrumento que le enseño a tocar Joel. Y fuera aparte de todo esto, cuando te pasas el juego cambia el fondo del menú de inicio, dando a pensar que Abby llegó a la isla de Santa Catalina. ¿De verdad me estáis contando que si hubiese una PARTE 3 el personaje principal podría darse el caso que fuese Abby? You spend hours and hours playing this game and as it progressed you actually lose more than gaining something. This bad reviews don't lie friends this is a great shooting game but story wise it sucks horribly it leaves a horrible after taste. It sucks all the joy out of the experience. The writing in her parts does nothing to garner sympathy for her fathers death because numerous actions she takes show that she is a awful human being. Okay, I'm not sure why there is such hatred out there for this game but I felt like weighing in on the action, as I have a fairly different view to other people. I finished the game on the hardest difficulty (survival I believe) and it took me around 30 - 40 hours. Let me explain what I thought:

    Firstly the technical aspects of this game are incredible. The graphics are absolutely stunning, the sound design is fantastic and creates a very tense atmosphere, and the play areas have become much bigger and - considering it is a linear game - make it feel almost non linear.

    Gameplay you should expect more of the same thing from the first game. Stealth focused with lashings of ultra violence when things go wrong. The ability to go prone, jump and climb add a little extra but are certainly not huge advances. Similarly the crafting and upgrades have been expanded slightly, but are not huge leaps forward.

    There were parts I did not like. I felt like the number of set pieces had been increased considerably from the first game, and that is where the gameplay is weakest. On the hardest difficulty there are very few supplies, and all the items you craft are precious, not to mention they can be difficult to swap between when you are being assailed on all sides by runners. This highlights the problems with the controls, for example you may dodge blows from an infected only for your hits to be directed in the direction you were initially facing, rather than to the infected you are now in a hand to hand fight with - hugely frustrating. One such set piece there are waves of increasingly harder enemies attacking you, beginning with runners, then runners and clickers, and ending with multiple shamblers and runners - there were no save checkpoints between waves which meant having to repeat the easy sections multiple times. The set pieces are then reduced to a trial and error approach until you know how to time your actions against the spawns - on easier difficulties this won't be such an issue, but it was very frustrating on survival.

    Another addition I did not like were the dogs. Dogs have a handler, as you'd expect, and once dogs have picked up your sent will follow it until they find you. This can be interrupted by stunning them in a variety of ways. There is one section in game where the amount of dogs and people patrolling make advancing very slow if you are trying to remain undetected. If a dog hits your sent trail though, you have to move quick, they will catch up fast and have huge detection radius on the hardest difficulty. Combine this with their handler and stunning them becomes almost an impossibility. In the end I just resorted to Molotovs before they had caught my scent, or leading them onto mines. It felt a cheap tactic on my part, but I couldn't find any other obvious option.

    Now for the story, where most complaints seem to lie. I thought the story was incredible, it kept me hooked until the end. Joel gets killed early on, but I didn't have a problem with this. We know Joel and Ellie from the first game at this point, and hopefully are invested in them. Joel is a bad dude though, I'm not sure if anybody remembers the end to the first game, but he killed a lot of people and ensured there would be no cure. I couldn't believe it in the first game while it was happening, and was shouting at my screen for him to stop. Ellie feels the same as I do, what Joel did was wrong, and their relationship has become broken down and strained as a result. I had no problem with Joel dying, most of our investment is with Ellie at this point (or should be, in my opinion) so killing Joel is not an issue. Joel is still a father figure to Ellie though, so watching him get beaten to death sets Ellie on a path to revenge.

    Abby is Joels killer, and you are forced to play as her throughout the game. To start with it feels forced too. I didn't want to play as her to begin with either. During this time though, we learn her motivations and we watch as she puts herself through the **** 3 days to save two children. By the end of Abbys section I found myself invested in Abby and Ellie equally.

    The final section of the game is played as Ellie, and I spent the whole time dreading the end. I did not want to reach the end of the game just to find her make what I considered to be the wrong decision, especially after Joel did in the first game. It is gripping stuff, which if you ignore the intricacies can sound very simple and disappointing. Is it just a tale of revenge? Mostly yes. Was the first game just the tale of smuggling a package? Mostly yes.

    It's not a perfect game, the story is slightly weaker than the first game, but the gameplay is slightly stronger. I'd say this was an equal to the Last of Us Part One: Technically incredible, slight clumsiness in controls, with minor gameplay improvements, occasionally frustrating level design, and a slightly weaker - but still great - sto    … Expand

    If you have good memories of the last of us part 1, I highly recommend that never play this game.
    Just save your money for other good work.

    Deleted after 5.5 hours, which were mostly spent bumping into things while looking for loot or falling to my death due to the terrible controls and sluggish camera. The brutality and gore are quite apalling. Hopefully I will be able to get a refund.

I love TLOU1 so much, and like all of you, i also expected the same quality After finished part 2, i have to admit that it's not as good as part 1, but it's still a good game. I know most of the people get angry (me either) to watch Joel dies painfully, disrespectfully. But if you stop for a moment and think: IF JOEL DID SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO YOU, WOULD YOU FORGIVE HIM? Abby does what she does to revenge. I love Joel so much, but there's a consequence for his action. And about the ending, i think Ellie did the right thing: FORGIVENESS. I really love that flashback, she forgave Joel. Now she forgive Abby, even what Abby did is unforgivable. If she kill Abby, Lev will come after Ellie, I know he will do it. The cycle of killing must be stopped. And if you notice, Abby and Lev are having the relationship like Joel and Ellie. This game deserve more, please play it till the end.… Expand

    The game play gets quickly boring, it's the same over and over again and barely an evolution of the previous.

    + Graphics

    + Sounddesign
    +/- Gameplay

    Those are the good parts of Tlou2. It genuinly is fun, for me at least, to be in this beautifully crafted world. I had my fair share of fun scavanging trough it. And I liked the violent nature of it.

    BUT: This game has the worst writing in a tripple A videogame, of this size, I've seen in a long time. And I mean it.

    The structure is all over the place, but just not there, where it needs to be.
    Most of the story is told in flashbacks. Understandable. Simply because there is nothing there to tell in this game besides Ellie taking out all of Abbys friends one after another. And then you play the game from Abbys perspective, where this game spends in it's last 10+ hours to force you to see how good of a person Abby as a human beeing is and let's you go from scene to scene estabishing that. ALL THE WAY. It's so bad, that you can actually tell in every scene "aah, we safe the zebra now, because Naughty Dog wants us to like Abby." or "ooh, we are beeing nice to strangers now, because ND wants to establish Abby as the good guy now." You can see right trough it and this is not how those tricks in storytelling work. Especially not when it's like hammered in your head constantly.

    As for all the characters in the game: You don't care about them!
    Simply because you can't get a grip of them. They change their mindset anytime, they behave stupid and predictable. And they all just die after a couple of minutes of screentime without having anything meaningful to say.
    And the best part is: Some time after their death you get even more flashbacks to show how sad all of this is.

    This game and it's message are not profound. It is stupid and/or meaningless and is handled not in the best fashion.

    If this is the new "standard" for videogames, like a lot of critics of tlou2 say, then I go back to comicbooks.    … Expand

    The Graphics are just astonishing and the Atmosphere throughout the whole game is so well made. I also really like the Fact that they haven`t played safe when it comes to the Story. All those twists and turns are really refreshing than just kinda knowing whats about to be happen.

At times I missed playing as Ellie, but I liked playing as Abby. Started to see her side,but sorry been with my OG girl for 7 years. Immersive game, I can't accept what my fellow gamers are giving it after they say they beat it in a day. It was 20hrs for me and some areas I rushed cuz was too dark haha. Before I submit this review I wanna make it clear that my displeasure with this game has nothing to do with having a female lead, or any sorta lgbt representation. (So don’t pull the bigot card). Joel’s death was handled piss poorly, I wouldn’t have had a problem with Joel being killed if it was done differently, it’s amazing to think that in the 1st game Joel has evaded many of the infected, impaled on a metal rod, has always been discreet and untrusting of others, only to trust a group of randoms with loaded guns in a locked room, and gets golfed to death in the sequel. Abby was not a well executed character IMO, I felt like Abby should’ve never been included in TLOU2. I wanted this game to be more focused on the already established relationship between Joel and Ellie and add more to it. It’s hard to have any care for Abby when she brutally kills Joel, kills Jesse, shoots Tommy in the face, and beats on Ellie and Dina. And while we’re forced to play as this spec ops gorilla brutalizing our favorite characters (Specifically Joel & Ellie), ND somehow expects us to feel some kinda connection for her? Overall I’m very disappointed with this game, the ending was extremely lackluster and nothing was accomplished. This game is basically the equivalent of being held at gun point and forced to throw a basket of puppy’s off a **** cliff and then tell you 6 hours later how wrong you were for that act.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think most user reviews are either just ignoring the gameplay etc. of the game out of ignorance or because they haven't actually played it. Despite your feelings on many points in the story (which in my opinion mostly work) the games other aspects do not deserve to be ignored. For example the gameplay which in my opinion includes some of the best stealth in a game since mgs:3 but not just the stealth is great the grittyness of the melee combat feels so satisfying and painful in equal measures and add a dodge button into the mix and it becomes stylish too. The overall look and graphics of the game are the best I have ever seen and really push the PS4 to the limit especially with some of the larger landscapes you explore such as the snowy mountains surrounding Jackson or the collapsed business district of Seattle. As always with The Last of Us the voice acting and Mo-Cap of all the characters is incredible and helps to convey perfectly every emotional beat of the story. I think the whole idea of the story of playing as ellie and murdering all these people who killed Joel mindlessly and then comes back to bite you when you then get to play as Abby and meet all those people who are now supposed to be your friends. I will admit I wasn't the biggest fan of playing as Abby mainly as I was constantly wanting to get to play as Ellie again. However probably some of the best encounters of the game along with a super cool boss fight swayed me too her side. So overall everything about the fame is a masterpiece apart from some of the story points but in my opinion that is a personal opinion.… Expand

The new enemies are a great addition. The way they communicate creates a more suspenseful element for sure. The A.I. can be a bit clunky at times, but that could be due to the medium difficulty I chose. As for the storyline.....I think Abby is a great character, there I said it. However, the reason I don't give this a perfect score is because we're introduced to a new character only to watch and learn that her entire life is filled with defeat and sorrow up until the end. The game has you hate her and then begin to feel bad for her, making you lose the affection you built in the previous game for Joel and Ellie. The last flashback is almost an insult. You're thankful that their last interaction was positive before he met his end, but you'll always wish to have seen how they would've rebuilt their relationship. That's my bias of the game. But damnit if I don't admit how amazing and captivating the game is.… Expand

Oh yeah and Abby part of the game for me was the most interesting part but not because of Abby even though I kinda liked her in the end. Scars was the most interesting parts of the game. Gameplay is intensive af and I love it. So satisfying weapons and I love gore in games. I'm not good at writing reviews, so I'm little all over the place but I still think people should play this before passing judgement.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. honestly Joel’s death didn’t surprise me. i knew from the 2016 trailer that’s Joel was in Ellie’s head and always thought that nothing could make her want revenge this badly if it wasn’t Joel getting killed in a horrible way. i didn’t get spoiled before the game, but i thought the first 50% of this game was perfect. seeing joel die so early just made me so angry and i felt like i was with ellie mourning him and just wanted to kill every last one of them. logically, his death makes sense. he killed a lot of people and i’d be more concerned if he didn’t get any repercussions for it. i was prepared for brutal and that’s what i got. the scene felt like it was acted perfectly and although joel didn’t get last words or anything that makes sense in this apocalyptic world - some things just don’t happen the fairytale way - as much as that **** sucks. and then we get to the 50% mark. i was so invested into ellie, jesse just died, it’s abby and ellie coming face to face and then boom - cut to black. then the realization that you have to play every seattle day over as abby???? i was floored. i did not care one second ab this **** and the game gave me flashbacks within flashbacks forcing me to care and it just didn’t happen. i wouldn’t have minded the scene where the player realizes the surgeon was abby’s dad, because that’s story development. i wouldn’t have even minded the scene where abby and lev meet and you see a little into that relationship for story development. but 10 **** hours??? i couldn’t. the ending - i get. i think ellie not killing abby wasn’t because she didn’t think joel wouldn’t have wanted her to. (because if abby had killed ellie, joel would’ve **** her up so fast). but i think ellie didn’t kill abby because she realized that lev would be affected the same way she was (ellie said “just take him” and not something like “just go and live”) and that ellie’s mental state would’ve decreased knowing she did the exact same things as abby - because ellie is a good person. and abby is not. abby spent years of her life waiting and planning to kill - torture - joel and took pleasure from it and was not affected in the slightest afterwards. when she knew dina was pregnant she looked pleased when she was about to kill her. **** psychopath. ellie was so blinded by her need for revenge that she did **** up things too - don’t get me wrong. when she tortured nora, she was visibly shaken afterwards because she’s still human. when she found out mel was pregnant after killing her she was physically sick and messed up because she’s still human - as one should be. but abby? that **** a cyborg.

    So many 0-1/10. It is offending and anyone giving this title 0 or 1 is an idiot unable to handle the emotions as a grown up.. feel bad for the creators who put so much effort in this game. Maybe it does not deserve 10/10 as I rated it. But haven't enjoyed any game like this since God of War. Not even RDR with it's obsolete game mechanics and ok story.

    The plot. Oh my God, this is the worst plot that I have ever seen in the video game. How someone was willing to pay for all of the technology, mocap and graphical quality just to present such awful story is beyond me. Talking about wasted money. It would be better to just throw it in the dumpster. Bad graphics would suit this dumpster fire better, the game would be at least consistent in being crappy. Now it looks even more bizzare, having good garphics, but no overall quality.

    The gameplay is not very different on the first part, the story is junk, and the graphics are average compared to the other exclusives (GOW-Uncharted -...) The game is not like what we expected and it did not deserve all these years of waiting.
    I don't know why but you destroyed a masterpiece.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No doubt in my mind that it’s the greatest game I’ve ever played. From the story to gameplay it’s absolutely a 10 out of 10 and I would recommend it to anyone that hasn’t played the game yet. One of my favorite things about the game was the guitar, it had a very symbolic meaning behind it and it was beautiful. In my honest opinion, you have to think quite hard to understand the entire storyline from beginning to end and the meaning behind the game to understand why what happened, happened.

    You might not understand why Abby wasn’t killed at the end so I’ll try to explain it the way I interpreted it.

    The game was advertised as a revenge story right? So you would think Abby should’ve died but she didn’t. Why? Because they got out of an endless cycle of revenge. How did they get out of the endless cycle of revenge? - An uncommon, socially unaccepted choice they made creates a family bond of love which gives them both a chance of redemption. Ellie has accepted JJ, a child who was not born yet by Dina who kissed Ellie when she knew she was pregnant and started a relationship. Ellie had to face the humiliation that she left Dina once to go on revenge (the part where Jesse and Ellie split up, I'm sure you understand what I'm talking about). Abby accepted Lev, a kid from a cult she hated and is most skilled at killing who saved her. Abby had to face the humiliation and regret of killing Joel cowardly to accept Lev. What did they have to pay? Ellie paid a part of herself, her two fingers were lost during the last battle and she couldn't play the guitar properly anymore. Her guitar holds her dearest memories of Joel, and Joel's song sounds broken without her two fingers, she lost a part of herself physically and symbolically. Abby paid her whole group of friends and trusted comrades. Now that is the true moral argument of the story: revenge will not lead to anything good but it's inevitable. Empathy and sympathy seems impossible to be established but at some point you will have to show some, do it for the ones you love, they're hurt if you're trapped in that cycle too. It felt like the consequences of chasing revenge at all costs was the lesson being taught to Ellie, not the player. I actually think that whole plot element is enhanced by the dramatic irony that the player can see a mile away the road she's on. The player is meant to learn empathy and perspective, through learning that Abby has understandable reasons for doing what she does as well, even if they aren't moral from an absolute perspective. Morally reprehensible or even downright monstrous actions can seem justified, depending on your perspective.    … Expand

    I almost didn't play the game because of all the drama, but I'm glad I did... Because it is definitely the best game I played so far. And in my opinion, even better than the first one.
    Don't get me wrong : it's not perfect, nothing is. But what I "experienced" shook me well a lot of times.

    I really don't get why people dislike it...

    The Last of Us Part II is a great game. I would rate it an 8.5, but I can't so I'll round down. The game is visually stunning. Gorgeous lighting and environmental effects make the experience that much more immersive. The base combat system is very similar to the first game, but it gets broken up through various takedowns and quick time event-style fights. Every story decision in this game is explained...eventually. The game relies heavily on its nonlinear narritive. For example, the game uses many flashbacks and repeated timelines with different characters to tell its story. It works very well in most parts of the game, but it grows tiresome as the game moves along. Also, some segments of the game involved too much looting and shooting. I would find myself getting bored during some of the overlong segements where I was tasked to traverse the city, especially when there was no companion along for the journey. All of that being said, it is a wonderful video game. It packs as much, if not more, of an emotional punch compared to the first game. The mood and tone are much darker in this sequel, and moments of levity are sparse. This is a project that I feel should be experienced by all gamers. It is boldly written and visually stunning. The game's developers don't provide fan service or give the audience what they expect. The constant subversion is part of what makes this game a must-play.… Expand

    This game has built very cleverly both in the development of the characters and in the arc of the story.
    Yes it's a cruel world, the dramaturgy is very high but what the developers ultimately bring out of this is something amazing.
    The sights, the visuals are going to great details.
    I would added 11 score for this game if this can be possible but for now I only can give 10.

The way the new characters are executed makes them the least likable characters in the entire series, not only that, most of them are killed and forgotten right after the fact. By the time the game ends, you feel like the whole journey that was set up from the beginning was pointless, because there is absolutely no resolution to the plot.
    Don't waste your time and money on this. If you do want to experience this game, I suggest just watching a playthrough because almost half of this game is straight up filler.    … Expand

    As a die hard fan of this series it confuses me the hate for this game. There are people on both sides either loving or hating the game for it story which is quite controversial. For me it’s my favourite game right after the first and an amazing buy that I think anyone needs to at least give it a shot first.     As a die hard fan of this series it confuses me the hate for this game. There are people on both sides either loving or hating the game for it story which is quite controversial. For me it’s my favourite game right after the first and an amazing buy that I think anyone needs to at least give it a shot first. I’ll get back to this later but first. The game at its core is amazing. They have a truly polished game with not a single bug in my play through. You’ll get about 35-40 hours on this depending on your play style. For me I like to look through everything and take my time so it was towards 40 hours. The mechanics that they have added don’t take away from what the first game had, but instead add extra layers of how to approach combat. And the combat in this game is brutal. It’s not for the faint hearted because this will show everything. Using a shotgun or sniper will take limbs off. Melee combat flows incredible well with the dodge they’ve implemented and makes melee combat something to look forward to rather than a last resort. Level design has taken a step up and the levels are larger and have much to explore adding some extra playtime and replay ability on. This game takes what the first had and improves on most aspects. Including the graphics. The first game was the most stunning game on ps3 as it was towards the end of its time and with this I have to say it’s one of the most stunning for ps4. Every aspect of this game is crystal clear and made to a standard you can’t fault

    Now the story. The story is something that’s hard to pin. You have the first game which had such a carefully crafted story focused on Joel and Ellie and it was made to convey a certain message about the building of their relationship. This game is about revenge and hate and hurting. These themes are very different and normally turn out to be a bad ending or some uncomfortable moments in the story. I loved this story. It had me in tears by the end and and although is wasn’t a “happy ending” it’s exactly the way it should’ve ended. The last of us 1 had a unsettling ending and this game stays true to that. And I feel because of this people have decided to bomb the game since it doesn’t end the way they wanted it to and leaves a lasting impact on you. This game has some flaws like the mid game can seem to make the game slow down a bit and I started to have some problems but most of those ironed out by completing the game and understanding the rest of the story as a whole.
    I give this game an honest 9.5/10. It’s an fantastic beautifully crafted game that everyone should play and try before forming a judgment or taking anyone else’s. Including mine. Play it and decide for yourself.    … Expand

The fact the creators have followed the obvious route of killing off a main character is simply annoying. They could have been original and kept the protagonist of the 1st game alive, no, got to follow that cliche route that they must die. I wasn't even shocked, I was simply bored, nothing original... Simply boring. 7 years and you give me this rubbish... Won't be buying any games from Naughty Dog anymore.… Expand

    Whatever you define the game as political statement, entertainment, interactive media or else, I must say in confident that you should experience this game. It's heartbreaking and shows the dark side of human being how we deal with consequences after we make our decisions. How far we would go to gain the satisfaction of payback and was it worth the act? The game hit me hard and I was into it.

I played it all the way through, and the story has few redeeming features. The plot is hardly believable at many key moments in the game with all the key characters making baffling choices.     The narrative of TLOU2 takes you on an often bitter journey with two protagonists whose methods you will not always agree with, nor should you. This is not a feel-good revenge story, where the hero mows through mobs of faceless villains before vanquishing their main foe in a climactic final battle. This game will force you to watch the brutal consequences of your actions. You'll be disappointed in protagonists you once rooted for, and you'll cheer on antagonists you probably wished death upon. You'll learn that the good guys aren't always true paragons, and aren't immune to receiving their comeuppance when it's well-earned. If you enjoy thinking about your entertainment for days after it's over, rather than being mindlessly bombarded with flashy explosion, then this game is for you.

    I'd like to briefly address the unhelpful negative reviews on this site. These reviews are written by upset individuals who feel they can no longer identify with the main characters that they'll be playing as. It is honestly sickening to see how little empathy there is in the gaming community as evidenced by these early reviews. I spent the better part of my weekend since the release playing this game, and waited until I finished and digested the ending to write this review. I highly doubt the same could be said for the tens of thousands of negative reviews.

    To those who are writing these terribly uninformed reviews, I ask that you learn to put yourself in another's shoes. It's a shame that we've come so far in this medium, and the moment there's a change that makes real progress with respresentation, this is the result. Yes, the story is bleak; that's kind of the point of this revenge story. Seeking revenge ends with what you see in the game's powerful ending. If you left feeling empty and hollowed out, then congratulations, you have learned to empathize. Use that empathy to accept that there are gamers of all races, genders, and cultures who enjoy being represented in their entertainment, and cheer on game studios who are willing to use their platform to make strides towards inclusivity in this wonderful medium.    … Expand

    I replayed the first game and the DLC before starting on this game so I could better appreciate the changes/upgrades and it was worth it! The environments and scenery is gorgeous, I love the enhancements and add-ons to the combat and sneaking mechanics. In fact, there's a clever mechanic they use in the second half of the game where it clicked for me about why people were hating on the game, but four hours into it, I could see that it's really effective so I can't even complain about that!

    tl;dr: Ignore the naysayers. If you enjoyed the first game, get this one and enjoy the continuation of a very dark and intense story but if you recall the ending for the first game, I genuinely can't see it going any other way.    … Expand

Story and writing weakest part and didnt make sense to me. 1/3 of the game had to really force myself to play through for a maybe rewarding ending and just got smacked in the face with dissapointment. Most of the time i was bored playing. For me me the last of us 1 was a 9/10.

Amazing game, amazing music and amazing visuals but has some issues in the story but not as bad as people make out. But, if you scratch under the surface of the story these issues become apparent, and some forced narrative is present. Compared to Last Of Us Part 1 its a 5 out of 10 but that was a hard act to follow no matter what, they did the best they could to make it unique but follow on.
    This is a really fun game (if you liked the first one) with a good story but one that is far over-shadowed by the first games story.
    I was gripped from moment one and was hooked until the end (even the second section which annoyed me at first grew on me), I was excited, annoyed, frustrated and happy. A game that can push such emotions on you is a good game and sometimes some of the questionable things characters do I think is done on purpose as they are meant to be humans with flaws that make mistakes and have internal thoughts we are no privy to.
    Just to put out there it feels more like playing a movie than the first with less player in-put but that is not a issue. I can see why this is not everyone's cup of tea.
    If you loved the first game you will enjoy this game even if its not as well written as the first. If you disliked or were unsure or just jumped on the hype train about the first you will leave this game feeling the same if not a little worse. Its not as bad as the salty reviews make out at very worse its a 6/10 at best pushing a 8.5/10. It has a good story and could of been a 9-9.5/10 if the pieces were placed in different orders(play it and you will understand what I mean. It could have worked a lot better, this is my main issue with the game.
    Note: Play on hard don't go in on easy or middle-ground this game is meant to be played on hard for best experience.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
