    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Although I haven't played the game yet, but judging from the playthrough on youtube, I think this game is not bad but not good either. I like where they're trying to go with the story with the whole revenge plot but it could've been a lot better than this. The first game ended with joel's lie to Ellie and Joel's action in the end. The second game is the consequences of Joel's action in the last game. Joel's death could've been done way better than it did. I think playing as Abby for 12 hours was so unnecessary. After what Abby did to Joel, they made Abby like one of the most hated video game character of all time. So no matter what she did in the story, nothing will ever change our mind on her. In the end Ellie goes head on with Abby, she then has flashes of Joel then decided to spare Abby after she bit her fingers, we don't like that. Then Ellie goes back home, she can't play the guitar then roll credits. Here's what I think about the ending. Ellie sparing Abby in the end was a huge mistake, then what was it all for, Ellie fought her way to this point for nothing. Although the game was trying to teach us a lesson, revenge never ends well for anyone, Ellie could've lived a happy life with Dina and JJ. But instead, she went on to hunt for Abby. After she went back home, Dina left her and now she's all alone. I kinda liked how it ended but hated it at the same time, so I have mixed feelings towards this game, it's good but it's so bad at the same time. The graphics, facial animation, dialogue was on point. Definitely stunning and one of the most beautiful graphics I've ever seen in a video game. But Uncharted 4 was a bit better. Attention to detail was amazing, and the references was fantastic. So in conclusion, this game was alright, could've been alot better, the story was not good and not bad it was whatever but it was a disappointment for alot of people, it did not exceed my expectations and many other fans but for me it was whatever.… Expand

    They absolutely ruined the story - boring old mechanics and terrible writing. Hiding behind a veil of "Everyone that hates it is a bigot" really brings to light the fact that these companies are using the LGBTQ community (That I am a part of) as their own personal shield to avoid any criticism.

Which is "one of" the most powerful "elements if you will" for our survival and longevity as Human Beings.

    The Last Of Us 2 is much more than "just a game" to me... It's a 3-D digital-reality that tries to imitate Reality... but one can clearly feel an almost out of body experience while being immersed in its world. As if the game is invoking something more... pushing outward or drawing inward from a 5th dimension a.k.a "Hypercube" ripping into the fabric of our Reality.
    It brilliantly succeeds in "not imitating" but rather "Emulating" a probable but terrifying "what if?" future of Reality!

    Thank You to everyone at "Naughty Dog" for your beautiful minds and talented skill-set as game/entertainment creators I applaud your craftsmanship.    … Expand

I really enjoyed the first part of the game where you played as Ellie, at first I didn't buy this game at launch because I read what everyone had said and I decided to make my own opinion about it firsthand. Anyway, I really did enjoy the first half of this game playing as Ellie, but being forced to play as this despicable pos Abbie made me grimace throughout the entire experience. You can see everytime the developers have tried to turn Ellie into the villain and expect you to sympathise with this new character that killed Joel. I would rate a 0 but that would be unfair to the technical aspect of the game and the visuals. None the less a 1 is still generous for the story.… Expand

After having finished it I can say that it is a great game at all levels (gameplay, graphics, mechanics, sound and, YES, history too), but I admit that personally I prefer the story of the first one. The story of this second part is more complex in what you want to transmit and how it is transmitted, but the one in the first one seemed more interesting and original to me. The objective of the story of this second part is, basically, that we also feel empathy for Addy, since what Joel did is unforgivable (everyone knows what I am talking about) and sooner or later he would suffer the repercussions of it. Joel was my favorite character from the first game, but it would be illogical to say that he was a good person for everything he had done in his past, just like Abby, but it is obvious that she had more justifications for doing everything she did in this second part. Precisely, that is one of the messages of the game: it may be that in this world there are no good people or heroes. I guess this second part was not well received by everyone because I think they hoped that Joel would redeem himself in some way for having probably condemned all of humanity by leaving her without the cure of everything that is happening and that was practically impossible, since that not even Ellie did not know if she was going to forgive him or not (although that is clarified in the end). I hope that this game later will be valued for what it really is: a great game.

    The story is crude on purpose, it is a tense and complex game that, more than a simple simple story, tries to leave messages. The most relevant thing is to understand the ending and few people I've read have understood it: leaving Abby alive in the ending, that fact marks that Ellie forgave Joel.

    It is not an easy and simple story that shows epicity for its own sake or to please the players, this is seen by the lack of fan service, since it was not developed to satisfy the requests or the tastes of one or the majority. Brave on the part of Naughty Dog.    … Expand

It was not a perfect game, with its clunky gameplay, over dependence on the square button, but the plot and storytelling were outstanding. It became one of those games that left us thinking about the true potential of games and how we could come to care about Joel and Ellie and their bond.

    TLoU2...wow. Damn. Beyond shocked, saddened, angry and now simply disappointed.

    What were they thinking?

    Some games are hard and brutal but if they have an engaging story line with continued character development, gamers fall in love with that game. NONE of that happens here!

    After all the false advertising (btw, how is that not libellous??? Isn't it the same as snake oil??), so, yes, after the false advertising, you go excited to continue to play your favourite two characters, whose story was the reason you looked past the clunky gameplay and all that excessive square button smashing... and then you end up being teased those same characters, and then you see that their relationship has become strained, then you are given control of some random character who ends up being saved from the infected by guess who, your favourite characters from the pervious game...strange but ok. Because this was very moronic and out of character from Joel... anyway, the game is a game, let's continue... But then you are shocked when Joel and Tommy give up their names and location without any provocation! Not only out of character, this is an insult to the intelligence of the players who know this would not have been their own reaction based on the first game. The water in Jackson is definitely not healthy if its dumbing down everyone to this level.

    This idiocy led to the IMMEDIATE HATRED for Abby because of THE TWIST at the 2hr mark. OK OK OK, Ellie now wants revenge and then we have the first 12 hrs of the game where we go through several parts of Seattle and... find that wherever we reach, most of the people are already dead or not helping us in any way. As a result, you feel for 12 HOURS THAT NO PROGRESS IS MADE by you as the player.

    What is more frustrating than your favourite character arc being killed off and turned into a cookie cutter revenge plot? A revenge plot where you feel no sadness for all your friends being killed around you, where you never seem to kill or get anyone to spill the beans on Abby's whereabouts, and where you FEEL LIKE NOTHING IS GETTING DONE AT ALL.

    This is the worst thing a game dev. can ever do. DON'T MAKE GAMERS FEEL THEY ARE WASTING THEIR TIME FOR 12 of the first 14 hrs.

    But then the devs did worse, they force you to play as the killer of your favourite character. What is wrong with you devs??? You end up speed running through until you reach Tommy and Ellie, when you are happy to see Abby (the character under your control) die repeatedly as you shout enthusiastically for her death with the controller down.

    ANGER for the devs is all you are left with.

    You don't get the satisfaction at any point, even at the end of the game when you have gone through literally thousands of dead bodies to reach Abby, however poor her state, you want her dead, and the devs DENY you even that small satisfaction.

    You are left feeling that the "experience" thought up by the devs is quite brutal, some might argue as being artistic, that's questionable, because unlike art, this actually serves a purpose... making you suffer for your love of the original game.

    This is a big middle finger to the gaming community from start to finish

    You loved Joel? Let's make him dumb as a rock and beat his head in with a golf club!
    You liked Ellie's wit and humour? Let's make her into an a-hole chokes up at the last minute, does not avenge Joel's death and is left without even her guitar playing fingers, and yes, her girlfriend left her with their baby.
    Oh, you started to hate Joel's killer? How about we make you play as her for 12 F***ing hours as we try to humanise her and build empathy for her situation because otherwise us dev aren't breaking any new ground (which, in any case they weren't).

    NO ONE LIKES ABBY'S CHARACTER BECAUSE SHE KILLED JOEL. Don't make us play as her. Give us a choice. None of her friends are memorable, hell, I can't even remember their names. Everyone in the game is an a-hole except for maybe Jessie, who gets what he deserves for being a nice guy, bullet from Abby in the face.

    Devs and Sony should understand one important f***ing thing.

    Gamers don't forget this.

    You may break even, or even make a **** ton of money off this game, but it is because of the reputation they had built up from the last game.

    Now we know who these devs are. We know they've lost it and don't care about fans, because unlike a movie in which things simply happen and you watch, here you are forced to speed run through half the game and make ****ty non-choices.

    Gamers will stay away from next project because we will remember these burnt bridges.    … Expand

Some people might not like how they killed some fan favorite characters, but that's the world the last of us is in, and is all about.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Before I get into the game, I want to say that I couldn’t care less about any of the “politics” injected into the game. Yes, there is LGBT aspects to the game. I personally don’t agree with leftist ideology on homosexuality, so I tried to concentrate just on the story, environments and gameplay. With that being said, let’s get into The Last of Us Part 2. Gameplay - Similar to the first game, which isn’t a bad thing. You’re encouraged to explore the environment to scavenge for supplies which are hard to come by as they should be. Gun play feels fluid and responsive but isn’t too easy at the same time. When your character is under stress, your aim will shake more versus when you aren’t spotted. You’re now able to use high grass to hide from enemies as well as crawl under cars and other objects to hide. The AI is also much improved and will work together to find and kill you; nowhere is safe as they will literally check everywhere. My gameplay score is a solid 9/10. Graphics - 10/10 everything looks incredible, moving on...

    Level design - again, 10/10. I really loved post apocalyptic Seattle and California, everything looked great and was fun to explore. Alright, here we go...STORY. Story - So, I can understand why so many people are so upset about the story and at certain points, I was really not liking it, but hear me out. I’ll sum up the story as quickly as I can and I’m only going to focus on the main points. The game starts off in Jackson, where the first game ends. Joel and Tommey go out on a patrol and end up running into a stranger running from a hoard of infected. They save this stranger and end up with this strangers group. Joel and Tommey reveal their names to them and then we learn that Joel was the whole reason they were there, to kill him. So this stranger (her name is Abby) kills Joel with a golf club and Ellie ends up coming in as it’s happening. After this Ellie sets out to get revenge. Ellie makes her way to Seattle and ends up killing all of Abby’s friends, but not Abby. We then play another 6 hours as Abby and they reveal that Abby’s father is the surgeon that was going to operate on Ellie to develop a vaccine. They go into more backstory on her relationships with different people but none of it is very relevant or very interesting (I had almost no interest in this part of the game, it’s pretty boring). Ellie and Abby end up fighting, Abby wins, and then she leaves saying “don’t ever let me see you again.” Ellie ends up back with her lover, Dina, (she’s a pretty pointless character). But, Ellie can’t live with the fact that she didn’t avenge Joel and that Abby got away. So Ellie sets back out to get revenge and kill Abby. She finds Abby in California who had gotten captured by another faction called the Rattlers. She kills all the Rattlers and finds Abby nearly dead hanging by her wrists from a pole on a beach right outside the Rattlers main camp. They fight, but this time Ellie wins. Right before she’s about to kill Abby she lets her go and says “get the **** out of here.” Abby leaves and Ellie returns home to find her lover, Dina, has left her. The End. The obvious message being, forgive and forget. When you seek vengeance, you lose everything in the process, and at the end of the day, it wasn’t going to bring Joel back. Obviously I’ve left a lot of backstory out as there are many flashbacks that dive deeper into both characters (Ellie’s and Abby’s) stories, but that’d be way too much to explain. Overall, I didn’t hate the game and I didn’t love it. It left me feeling very empty and unfulfilled in the end, but maybe that’s how I should feel, maybe that’s the art of it, that selfish vengeance will only leave you feeling empty. Story - 4/10

I really hoped that this would not be a banal continuation about Ellie and Joel, who go to some safe place and simultaneously strengthen their relationship again. And how glad I am that the sequel takes a completely different idea for the concept and more deepens me much more as a player in the game world than part 1 did. The second part has the concept of a cycle of revenge, which we will study immediately from two sides of the conflict. I really liked that the first half of the game, we go through revenge, and the second half of the path of redemption. The gameplay has become much deeper and more interesting, and the study of locations has become much more fun. The atmosphere has become much darker and no longer has a division into white and black, which can be seen in 1 part. The Last of Us Part II is the most beautiful game I have ever seen. I like that there are much more moments similar in atmosphere to Resident Evil. The gameplay in the hospital for Abby is definitely one of my favorite moments in the game. As in the first part, I am pleased that I was not given a choice at the end. I'm glad for Ellie that she was able to let go of her revenge and off cycle of pain. And I'm definitely happy for Leo and Abby, who, I hope, will find Fireflies and happiness.… Expand

    For me is a great idea to make you play as the "villain" and i know how mutch the community loved Joel as character, but if you pay attention to the construction of the plot you will understand why the game got this resolution.
    In conclusion you can have your opinion about the story but you really can't say this is a bad written plot with bad written characters    … Expand

I loved the graphics, the combat, the performances, the inclusivity, but the reason I spent 60$ right off the bat was for the story. And the story was told awfully. Neil Druckmann has to recognize, someday, that he handled the story horribly. I understand he wanted to tell another relevant story but he failed atAs a huge fan of the first game, I feel extremely disappointed in this sequel. I loved the graphics, the combat, the performances, the inclusivity, but the reason I spent 60$ right off the bat was for the story. And the story was told awfully. The world is so unbelievably detailed — every building looks lived in, every scrawled note looks authentically handwritten, every character and faction has a story. If you enjoyed TLOU, please do not letThe internet hatewagon really jumped the shark with this one. TLOU2 is a compelling, emotionally-driven story that is interesting throughout, and the gameplay trumps TLOU1 in every sense. The world is so unbelievably detailed — every building looks lived in, every scrawled note looks authentically handwritten, every character and faction has a story. If you enjoyed TLOU, please do not let the mob dissuade you from giving this game a shot. It’s phenomenal and I think it would be received better by fans if they hadn’t worked themselves into a lather in advance over the leaks. The plot absolutely works in context. Who thought this was a good idea? Her character is boring and the plot is set for revenge but nothing happens at the end. Ellie looses everything and kills everyone on her way to avenge Joel just to not do it at the very last moment.… Expand

Established characters are being railroaded and behave in either stupid or despicable ways, just to drive home a very banal morality tale about the cycle of revenge. The magic of The Last Of US, that made the previous game special, seems entirely absent.

    Amateur writers are often faced with the criticism of "Don't cut yourself on all that edge", but the writers in charge of TLOU2 seem to have entirely skipped that stage of development and self-reflection. The more shocking and uncomfortable, the better right? No sense of subtlety in sight and no taste. The game tries to tackle many adult themes and is geared towards a mature audience, but comes across as incredibly juvenile. It's like the wet dream of a 16 year old kid about the most violent and super edgy grim-dark story they could imagine.

    The game is obsessed with proving some kind of point and it seems like your typical instance of writers on a huge ego-trip. The previous game posed the question, whether, in the end, it was all for nothing in a brilliant way, making the player consider the consequences of the violence. In this game the question-mark is entirely absent. "It was all for nothing" and there's nothing to take away from it but a banal "revenge is bad" morality tale, which 99% of its audience don't need to learn. Ellie and Joel deserved better. What a disgrace.

    But I just feel it’s such a waste to have this amount of attention to detail in the game and For it to be just thrown down the drain.

    This game could’ve been something special but due to unlikable characters and a lackluster story It fails miserably to deliver.

    I just hope that this once upon a time great studio Can go back to focus on making great games and not hammering home appoint that we all agree upon.
    You can feel that there’s something wrong going on at naughty dog studios, people quitting, almost everyone who worked on the first game are gone.

    Something in the game happens something horrible and they force you to play the character that did that thing. Which is one of the biggest complaints that see people talk about and They are right because that character isn’t likable and isn’t relatable she’s purely evil she’s not well motivated and she’s definitely not charismatic.
    I would’ve loved to play the villain like Negan for example from The Walking Dead someone who is charismatic someone who you enjoy watching them be bad or even good sometimes but no you gotta push an agenda.

    Das Game hat ein unglaublich gutes Kampfsystem. Jeder Konflikt in diesem Spiel macht unglaublich Spaß und ist auch herausfordernd. Die KI der Gegner ist einer der besten KI's was ich kenne. Die Grafik ist einfach schön. Für mich in der Top 5 der ps4 Spiele.

    Gameplay is really good, the sneak mechanics are probably the best we seen so far! 10/10. The graphics are incredible, even on the regular PS4 the game looks and feels amazing! 10/10...
    Now to the not so good... And i really want to do this, but the new characters in this game are utter **** They are either boring or bland or a good mix. Take Abbey for instance the only weakness she has is a fear of heights (and possibly fitting through narrow spaces), why is that? WE DON'T **** KNOW! A golden opportunity to actually flesh out a new character squandered... The only character, that's new mind you, that made me laugh was Lev for him not being able to take a joke. This makes the parts where you play as Abbey incredibly tedious and boring. 1/10. And since this is such a story and character driven game it drags it down a lot!
    Ahhh... The story... It's a very, very good story... If you like logical inconsistencies and boring plot points. Lets take the biggest sin here... and spoiler warning if you haven't played the game! Joel, Ellie and Tommy would all die during their first encounter with the WLF. They have zero reason to keep them alive and they are even a liability for them, since they can ID them... And the only reason this is done for a visceral effect, where GoT managed to do this perfectly (at least the first couple of seasons) this feels like a cheap copy... And i'm not saying don't kill Joel, but this feels like killing him just to drive the story.
    At the end of the day, it's a huge disappointment. Yet i'm torn between giving this game a 4 or a 5... The gameplay is really that good, but since there is no trophy for beating this on survivor and a short trophy list in general i'm going with a 4. Looks like an easy platinum though, so i guess i'll finish that before returning it to the store... #heartbroken    … Expand

God ive noticed a lot of people online coping hard trying to like TLOU II and defending that terrible story, that´s some top tier post-purchase rationalization, i mean i get it, you invest time and/or money so your brain tries to like it, and if you like the game that´s fine, i desperately tried to like GOT S8 as well and i defended it for a bit, but later on i was made aware of all the plotholes, inconsistencies, abandoned plotlines, de-construction of characters and non sensical decisions and ending of story arcs that undid eveything that led the characters up to that point, exactly like TLOU II story, "subverting your expectations" is a fancy way to say dissapointment and is great way for lazy/bad writers to hide all of those problems i mentioned, if you like to be miserable and play through a movie with a bad revenge plot thats been done way better a million times before, especially bad because you dont even get revenge, only the antagonist that they so desperately want you to empathize with gets revenge,
    then go ahead.
    But at least try to listen to the points being made by people outside of access media that can talk honestly about it without any implicit risk of losing access, and if after that you still like it then there´s not much left to say, just dont blindly disqualify or disregard every critique or points made by people who didnt like it because i really really wanted to like the game but was unable to, i just couldnt get through a game thats constantly trying to make me feel bad for decisions the game is forcing me to make while ignoring plotholes and out of character actions. The first game wasn´t perfect either and yes that plot has also been done a million times before, but at least they pulled it off extremely well with LIKEABLE characters showing their growth together and making you care for them and their relationship, and at least the ending made sense, the doctors had killed many immune kids with no remorse and no "REVENGE CYCLE" happened to them those times, they just needed a cheap plot device now to kill Joel and validate the **** plotline and they couldnt even do that well, literally the most disrespectful and stupid out-of-character send off ive ever seen, actually spitting on the character, super subtle writing.
    Yes the gameplay is fun for the first 8-9 hours but gets repetitive really quick after that, and yes the game looks AMAZING for sure, what did you expect after 7 years of abusing their own workforce?,

    You know that something is awry when you play the game just for completion sake and to get it off your to-do-list so you can un-install it and make a ticket asking Sony to remove it from library..and they can keep the money too.

Story-wise, each game does a great job at drawing out different emotions, from fear, anger, hatred, disgust, and love. The first game will forever be the best game I have ever played, however, part II is a close second. It’s obvious that this game is divisive, for obvious reasons, however, this doesn’t make me hate the decisions made by developers and directors. It shows that every horrible action you do will catch up to you at some point, like it does for Joel. Getting Abby’s backstory put her actions in place. She was angry, sad, and wanted revenge for Joel killing her dad, who was wanting to do the right thing. Although his murder was brutal, it was necessary. I love Joel, even if he didn’t make the right choices, he showed remorse that if he had the chance to do it all over again, he would. He saved Ellie selfishly and killed very important people in the firefly community, which I disagreed with but I love Joel and if I was in his position I would probably do the same. As well as Abby. If my dad was killed for trying to save the world, I would seek revenge. This game left me confused, but after further reflection, I came to peace with it, just like the first game. If you are looking to play the game, keep an open mind and know that the developers didn’t create this story with the intent of pissing you off. Everything happens for a reason. Happy gaming.… Expand

    i was thirteen), i remember very fondly going to the store and buying the game, and man, it chills me to the very core. Seven years later, here i am, absolutely crazy about the idea of a Part II. Such amazing graphics, small little details that increases the experience when you notice them, it's amazing to see the amount of love and hard work Naughty Dog put on these game. But, we're talking about The Last of Us, and it's all about story, and oh boy, TLOU always been an a dark story about humanity, fear, love, hate, all human things, the Part II is with no surprise about it. The controversy of Joel's death just reminds us about the world that the characters live in, there's no fancy and heroic deaths, you don't get to choose how you're gonna die, and seeing a character that we love so much die this way, it's really heartbroken, but that's the story that are being told. Never in my gaming life, hold a controller was so heavy, and the fear of what's coming next was so intense, never in a movie or reading a book i've felt like this before, this game is an absolutely masterpiece, Naughty Dog put some weight on the controller, makes you feel so many things trough story and gameplay. The flash backs of Joel and Ellie oh my god, you know how it ends, and it just make you grab that moment and enjoy it while you can, and also it shows how is Ellie still feel Joel's by her side saying "I got you, is everything ok". This game makes me crack a smile in the most sudle moments and also bring me down to tears. This game makes you think, it sticks with you, it's not only meant to be funny and that's that. TLOU2 strayed far from its predecessor in many ways, to the point of absurdity. A main beloved character dies in the most cheesiest way possible (Neegan anyone? We've seen this over and over again).     ND can say what they want about these negative reviews, truth is....Story is everything in a game like this. I personally didn't want to play as Abbie, most didn't care about Abbie either. That section of the game just wasn't interesting. That's really it. This ain't about agendas, or whatever wokeness you want to put in the game. It just simply wasn't interesting.

    4/10 - Graphics, music, environments were phenomenal. But the story and pacing is what really killed it for me. Story is everything to me when it comes to games like this.     Story- I'd say about for the first 8 hours or so with thorough looting and scavenging for materials the story is fine. It transpired in a way that made sense. Then in the halfway point of this game and the pacing gets messed up in a way that makes the player feel like they just got sent back to level 1. Not only does it feel bad to feel like you have to start from the beginning, but it also feels completely irrelevant. They try to force you into seeing the bad guys story and fail at it. Now after that is over the pacing gets even worse where this a random break in the action and then you jump back into the action and the game ends in about an hour after that. The ending is probably worse than the pacing because basically it makes everything ellie went through in the entire game pointless, a waste of time.

    Characters- I think this is the worst part about this game. All new characters introduced are bland and the game never does a good job of getting you to like these characters for who they are as people and not just because of their sexuality. This game seems to think that because of a character's sexuality they for some reason are filled with personality, they're not. Beliefs, morals, actions, behavior, inner thoughts, and relationships, things like this truly build a character. Whenever a character died in this game I never cared. The only time I ever felt like I cared about these characters were in flashbacks between joel and ellie.

    Gameplay- it is identical to the first game. The AI is not very intelligent. If you're quick and don't stand idle behind the same area for too long you can run and gun situations very easily. The AI will lose your location if you just kill a target and run to a different hiding spot. I played on moderate difficulty which is the normal difficulty and I never found myself struggling to find resources as I checked everything whenever I could. The audio is terribly loud, I played using a playstation platinum headset I would sometimes confuse my own footsteps despite crouching and tilting my analog stick very slightly. Also if an enemy attacks you from behind prepare to take huge amounts of damage because the camera makes it impossible to see anything that isn't in front of you because of the position it is locked into. The gameplay is its only good quality I would say but only if you completely strip away the characters, motives, and story completely from your mind.

    I would like to include that I had two other people I knew playing this game. One of them my cousin and the other my best friend since the 3rd grade. Both of them were ecstatic for this sequel preparing it to hit their GOTY for 2020. I luckily finished it before both of them so I hopped on PSN chat to hear the reactions of the ending from my best friend who was so frustrated that he called his other close friend to tell him not to buy the game. My best friend also experienced the feeling of wanting to stop playing halfway through the game because of what was happening but pushed through to see if it redeemed itself in the end. My cousin on the other hand, while he didn't like the second half, was not dreading it as much as my best friend and I did. He remained fairly positive until the end and when he watched the ending and the credits roll he said on his stream "I'm not gunna lie, I'm kinda salty"

    We all loved the first game especially for the characters and the relationship between them. This second game comes nowhere near the level of the first game in that factor alone so if you're a fan of the first I highly doubt you will like this game by the time credits roll.

    Do not believe people saying this game is getting review bombed. Undoubtedly some of the reviews are very salty remember that these were people who were huge fans of this series and these characters. They feel cheated, angry, whatever the case is. If you don't believe that I completed it you're welcome to check my trophy list at deadlysin12.

    Final verdict: you're better off watching this game on youtube or twitch because you will not enjoy your experience by the time credits roll you will have regretted purchasing this game. I know I did and so did my best friend. This game is absolutely not a 10/10 or a masterpiece.

    I loved every second of it! Graphics, gameplay, story, for me personally, this is GOTY material. Of course, the story isn't "Disney with good endings" what some people hope for. but it's a solid story full of emotions and great acting.

    I'm sad to see all the hate regarding the fact that Ellie is gay and some bad things happen in the story. Really do not understand the low User Ratings! If    I loved every second of it! I would give this game an 8 only because there are a few things that could have made the game better. Number 1, a better way for Joel's death. Joel starts to get up yanks the golf club out of Abby's hands hits her in the legs, she falls and Joel gets shot in the face (it probably never would have happened but it would have been a better way for Joel to go out. Number 2, why was Abby's character development really bad, it made sense why she killed Joel as he killed her father but the could have made so much more out of that instead of including all her friends. If they just focused on the relationship between Abby and her dad (like Joel & Ellie) instead of all the different characters and their feelings it would have been a lot better. Otherwise, I believed the game was really well made and it was fun to go through. I would 100% recommend the game.… Expand

    It pains me greatly to give TLOU2 such a low score, as I am a huge fan of part one, but I really have no other choice.     Ein Stern Abzug gibt es aufgrund der (oftmals unnötigen) Brutalität. Auch die Entscheidungsfreiheit diesbezüglich ist ziemlich eingeschränkt.
    Ebenso gibt es ein paar Grafikfehler (z. B. Gras, welches durch den Charakter drückt oder die Staubpartrikel, welche statisch in der Luft verbleiben).
    Ein weiterer Stern Abzug gibt es für den ständigen "Loot-Drang". Viele Stunden gehen drauf, nur um die eine oder andere Pistolenpatrone oder ein Medi-Pac zu finden. Das kann schnell nerven.    … Expand

    Realisticly 8/10. I rated it 10 just to equilibrate for the other troll scores.
    Great game overall. I recommended just play it because it depends a lot in how you get hook by the story (and of course you dont want to get spoiled) especialy if you liked the first game.

I've never had a game take me on such an amazing journey before, you are thrown into anger wanting vengeance and then the next minute you are growing as a person yourself. Complete masterpiece.     The Last Of Us: Part II is depressing, dark but yet beautifully crafted at the same time. Sure, the plot has it's downsides but it doesn't stop it from being engaging and also unique in its own way of teaching the player its main message. Do yourself justice and at least give it chance, rather than bashing it from the spoilers that were leaked; you might be surprised.

    PROS:
    - Gameplay (It's improved in every way from its original predecessor and is incredibly addicting)
    - Exploration
    - Graphics and Overall Presentation
    - Sound Design and Musical Score
    - Acting
    - Impressive AI
    - World-Building and World Design
    - Story Arch and the ideal of "Revenge" in a film motive
    - It's Brutality and not being shameful to show the cruelty of the world
    - Main Characters (I feel like the leads are incredibly strong and are flawed; which makes them compelling)
    - Ending that, in my opinion, finishes this tale off perfectly and starts Ellies' true journey.
    - Settings (So much customizability and an option for people who are handicapped to play normally)
    - Platinum Trophy Difficulty (I'm a completionist and this game is quite easy to do so, unlike the first)

    CONS:
    - Pacing (I feel the momentum stops at full speed halfway in the game when the "twist" comes into play)
    - Too Long (Game should have had it's massive final climax three chapters BEFORE hand. This game really needed another script revision to trim the fat)
    - Structure (While I understand the idea of why the story is structured this way, it still doesn't work and can feel really off-putting and lazy)
    - Main Characters (Majority it's not a huge issue but there are some SERIOUS conflictions with character motivations that the game doesn't like dig through or explain)
    - Supporting Characters (While acted well, they seemed either flat or non-existent)
    - Tedious Level Design (While amazing to look at, some chapters can really drag and take triple the amount of time that it should have been)
    - Changing Weapons (This is minor but I felt that "Holding the Square Button" wasn't that responsive and I would instead randomly swing my melee weapon when trying to be stealthy)

    In the end, The Last of Us: Part II is not for everyone but for me, it was an emotional time. Although it has it's shortcomings and is defiantly not perfect, it's far from being a total mess and to me, shows that Naughty Dog is one of those companies that will take risks; even though it may divide its fanbase.

    It's not a sequel that everyone wanted. That part is clear as day. Some of the content I love so much, and some parts I just hate a lot. I think it's hard to give a score with certainty. The new characters are so boring and poorly written, I couldn't care less about them. That part is bad. But the whole concept of vengeance, story structure and even ending is good to me. I think NaughtyIt's not a sequel that everyone wanted. That part is clear as day. Some of the content I love so much, and some parts I just hate a lot. I think it's hard to give a score with certainty. The new characters are so boring and poorly written, I couldn't care less about them. That part is bad. But the whole concept of vengeance, story structure and even ending is good to me. I think Naughty Dog can definitely do it a lot better and make 10/10, but they didn't.     Really enjoyed it, wish it didn't get as much hate as it's getting. Some parts annoyed me or bored me but pushing past that I really loved it.

    The game is not a masterpiece, but not a trash. I put such an assessment because of the fools who did not even play the game, but put low ratings. I liked the game and rate it at 8 points. I would advise you to buy the game despite the low ratings and to feel all this yourself. I feel sorry for the developers of the game. So much labor and time is invested in this project.

    Невероятная атмосфера. Максимально живое окружение. Прекрасный дизайн локации. Крутая графика. Конечно, есть сюжетные дыры, но они не вызывающие и на них не хочется отвлекаться.

    No matter how much the Cicada assured us, there was no guarantee that Ellie's death would help in creating the medicine, because they already had patients with similar immunity. So there was no point in leaving Ellie for an autopsy.

    Чтож, по сравнению с первой частью игра дно дна.В первой части мы играли за Джоуэля и наблюдали за его отношением с Элли,это и была изюминка игры.Достаточно вспомнить как Джоуэль к ней хладнокровно относился в начале и на какие жерты пошёл в конце.
    Как бы нас не уверяли Цикады,не было гарантии что смерть Элли поможет в создании лекарства ,ибо у них уже были пациэнты с подобным иммунитетом. Поэтому не было смысла оставлять Элли на вскрытие.
    Во второй же части нам показывают Джоуэля,каким-то идиотом,который не смог сказать во время истерики Элли,насколько она ему дорога и рассказать ей ,что Цикады её обманули,насчёт вакцины...Да,возможно с первого раза не удалось бы объяснить этого ,но нужно было стараться больше...
    Также минусом игры есть пропаганда ЛГБТ ,тупой сюжет про месть,если Элли убила столько людей,то она бы уже могла прикончить этого перекаченого мужика трансгендера...
    Так как дела сначала нужно было закончить и потом уже плакать и вспоминать Джоуэля...
