    Graphically stunning, amazing sound design, perfected gameplay, and mechanics.
    Divisive as it is, the story is there as a story told by the studio, and not just fulfilling the fans' fantasies.
    The somewhat different settings manages to pay respect to the original game, and bring new and refreshing additions to the world of The Last of Us.

    Amazing game. Absolutely amazing. A rollercoaster of emotions. I love how you can see many different perspectives of the events that take place in this game. The gameplay is so fun and also challenging. Part 2 explores many different themes so be prepared for anything.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly the gameplay, scenery and most of the dialogue between missions is amazing as it was in the first game. Some of my favourite parts in the game was hearing the little conversations between the main characters and old Joel + Ellie flash back dialogue. (SPOILER) But the elephant in the room the story. It is unbelievably disappointing. The story begins with amazing fan service I.e seeing the characters we love thriving years after the first game, meeting some interesting new characters along the way, until the game throws a curve ball, severing the ties with one of these beloved characters, Joel. The story then morphs into a revenge story which is fine in the grand scheme of things, but it slowly starts to force empathy for the characters we are drawn to hate, also forcing an ark where u play as the woman responsible for beating Joel to death with a golf club, which is far to long. I felt like I was on auto pilot and being fed a narrative for no reason.

    It becomes apparent the game just keeps throwing brief flash backs of Joel to mess with the attachments we have grown to him especially towards the end of the game when the two girls we play as finally fight. With this theme we are treated to an unbearably brutal part of the game, we are forced to play as the villain just after they have shot and killed one of the nicest friends portrayed in the game, then shooting tommy in the face obviously done in the moment to make players think he is dead. At this moment I almost switched off the game. The game then forces you to chase down Ellie and beat her to a pulp. The rest only gets worse from there, finally ending with the last word of the script, Joel once again being thrown in our faces like nothing with a “yep”. How bout a no.    … Expand

    I personally loved this game. I can understand that the choices of the writers were difficult to accept for some, this story is heavy and sad. I love Abby, at the end of the game even more than Ellie I think. I do think she deserve more love and understanding from the public in my opinion.. Great and sad game.

    I’m so disappointed. I, like others, have been waiting years for this game to come out. I formed such an emotional attachment with the characters in the first game, it was devastating to see them squished in the sequel.

    The game visuals are beautiful, the gameplay is a nice improvement on the original. The story is broken. I’ve read elsewhere that this game would have been better served    I’m so disappointed.     I’ve read elsewhere that this game would have been better served with two separate run throughs - an Ellie primary with a conclusion, and an Abby post finish that brings nuance (if you wish to revisit). For me, pretending that this is the case is the only way the disappointment dampens.

    Other points
    *Playing as Abby halfway through the game for hours on end was a gut punch and not what I signed up for. No wonder the embargo hid this aspect of the game.

    *On the social justice stuff - why did it have to be so in your face. Cool, Ellie is gay. Fine. We explored this aspect in the first dlc. Pushing it so hard this time with a trans arc for a major side character? Much of this story was written for an echo chamber that will never play the game.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I bought the game being full aware of the previous leaks. I wanted to give naughty dog the benefit of the doubt. I played the game, I am 4 hours in. Game play wise, it's ok. Graphics are nice. Killing the infected is entertaining. However, my problem is that I loved the relationship between Joel and Ellie in the last of us 1.In the last of us 2, this relationship is non existent. In fact one hour into the game Joel is killed off in one of the most insulting and pointless ways in video game history. Why did naughty dog go with this? Heck I would love to know. What we are left with is a story between ellie and her love interest, Dina. This feels very forced.... Almost shoved in for political points. It feels cheap, out of place, and insulting. What does this have to do with the story? I wanted to see me of Joel and Ellie. I did not get to see more of Joel and ellie. They killed Joel off in the first hour of the game, it's sincerely making me question why I continuing to play this game. My advice, I don't think it's worth spending the money on this one, wait for a sale. As it is... This game ruins everything you appreciated from its predecessor.… Expand

I was a big fan of Naughty Dogs because they always capable to find the exact balance between graphics, emotions, sounds and gameplay and when they do it's going to be 10 out of 10, but when one person decide that his incredibly poor writing skills should beStunning ingame graphics and sound.     Al ejecutarse da problemas de sobrecalentamiento en mi consola PlayStation 4 pro. Tiene muchos bugs y problemas con las texturas. El apartado gráfico es muy dispar dependiendo del lugar.

    Sorry but this was not what i have expected. The main bond between the player and Characters from TLOU 1 was crushed and threw away through the window straight into garbage can. Game it self and mechanics are ok but You will never experience those feeling as in PART 1. Sad to say that but you get only 3

Combat feels good, but becomes repetitive the ''upgrade system'' feels outdated and could have been solved a lot better in my opinion, Graphics are awsome for PS4 pro, but as a mainly PC gamer it has okay grafics, nothing to really impress, shadows feels weird sometimes and 30 fps in 2020 is okay for PS4 i guess.

    The story... oh boy... what a mess. It starts as a solid 9/10, becomes a 5/10 after like 2 hours in game. Then the most of the story is just making u want to speed run half the game which makes this thing become a 3/10, then after all that mess u get an ending and lets u think the overall rating on the story just isnt justified to be above 1/10.

    If a game forces u to play half the time as an absolutely unlikeable character u just want to see dead, it is some kind of torture and no not the good kind of torture like the Dark Souls series or Sekiro where the difficulty is so high that its kinda torture but its so satisfying when u progress. This is nowhere around in the last of us 2, u just feel empty and wanna quit cuz u are having 0 fun playing most parts of the games.

    I would go so far and say its the worst game i have played in the last 5 years and im reviewing this game only cuz im so disappointed and have been a fan of the last of us 1. No one can give me the time back i lost playing this game so here is my solid 1/10, i give it 1 point because u can actually play it and it didn't crash.    … Expand

    7 años esperando para esta historia irrisoria e irreconocible para esta saga, mal ejecutada y con personajes totalmente olvidables. Un juego al que le sobran 12 horas tranquilamente y que de tan malo hace que el primero pierda valor. Lo único bueno es la ambientación y la música, ahí si se nota que hay un responsable con Oscar de por medio.

    Если у вас не стоит на стелс и выживание - будете зевать так, что рискуете порвать ротан. Со времён первой части стал чуть более вертикальным. Появились уклонения (о боже мой, да это же Dark Souls 56. Нет.), Травка для пряток, пара собак и пара механик, типо вытащить стрелу из бочины, а то очень мешает. Прокачка стала внятнее, перков больше. Прокачка оружия особого нарекания не вызывает.
    В общем и целом игровой процесс именно с большими скоплениями противников стал более динамичным во время прямых конфронтаций. Отсиживаться на жопе в туалете (для этого есть другая игра в жанре батл-рояля) не получится, приходится бегать, прыгать, стрелять, кидаться говном, но желательнее кирпичами.
    (Знаю что хочешь возразить, но я сейчас про максимальную сложность.)

    Давайте будем честны. Ставить всей игре 0/10 только потому, что вам не зашёл сюжет (Ну или он просто не оправдал ваши ожидания, которые возможно были завышены.) как-то глупо.
    Сюжет не оригинален и про заезженную тематику мести? Ну, и да и нет в то же время. Он скорее про то, что понятие свой и чужой просто в применении, но правильное ли в использовании. Люди всегда обезличивают других людей, причинивших им боль и страдание. Легче всего назначить таким людям статус "Абсолютное зло".
    Про то, куда может привести человека горячая от эмоций голова.
    Тривиален ли этот сюжет? Возможно. Настолько ужасен, что вы лучше будете ковыряться палкой в навозе, но не играть в игру? Не думаю.
    Чем больше вы проходите хороших игр и интересных историй - тем труднее вас зацепить. Первая стадия развития игровой импотенции, к сожалению.

    Well I must admit this was a hard one to sit through and really had to dive into the depths of how I felt about it to give an honest review of it. Let's start off with the pros. The graphics and scenery are amazing in this game. The gameplay itself is much like the last of us one band hasn't changed all that much but I didn't feel that this was a downside due to the fact I liked the last of us one in the way that it felt and handled. I know that can be a bit tipsy because some people say it should run smoother or aiming should be better but overall I felt like it was just fine. I hate to admit it though but that storyline is awful. I tried so hard to like the story and tried to approach the game with an open mind but ultimately in the end it did nothing for me. If anything I walked away from the game feeling totally unsatisfied with the character development, general storyline, and not necessarily the events that took place but how the events took place in the game. There is just too many things that didn't make sense to me and overall I feel it was a bad decision for the developers to go this route. I get the whole concept of trying to do something new and edgy but there is a way to do it and I just felt like the developers missed the mark completely on really capturing the spirit and soul of not only the players but the characters that pulled the players into the game as well. The reason why I am giving it a low score is just because I was so enveloped and immersed in the story of the first one but absolutely felt nothing but frustration and no payoff in the end. I really understand that a story doesn't have to go my way and it honestly shouldn't it should be up to the directors and writers with however they see. But video games just like movies are here to entertain their audience and me personally I did not find any entertainment out of the story that I was hoping would really incite my inner emotions and leave me feeling like I played a masterpiece like The first game but unfortunately that feeling never came out. If you want to play this game then I wish you luck. If you did play this game and actually liked it for what it was and truly enjoyed it I'm not only happy for you but I am jealous of you.     No spoilers here. Just wanted to say how disappointed I am in this game. I remember pre ordering the first game then rushing to GameStop to get my copy. Playing that game on my PS3 was definitely one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. After this game I don’t think I’ll be buying another ND game.

For the last couple of days now I have been reading through hundreds and hundreds of mind numbing and brainless comments from people who couldn't see the point if it stabbed them.. The Last Of Us Part 2 has been getting absolutely torn apart by players saying anything from "it is horrible and lazy storytelling" to "Naughty Dog have completely destroyed the games franchise and betrayed fans.. Just because Joel dies?..

    Well at least, I've seen proof of dozens and dozens of people that got to that scene and stopped playing due to hysterical emotion only to start blindly slandering it in every way..

    Yes, it is quite a gut wrenching scene for a video game and I don't mean graphically, (although it's up there for that reason too)
    I mean because of the connection with Joel from the first game being so strong that it literally wrenches your stomach.. But for a lot of people who don't think that Joel dying outright ruined it, it's about the way he dies being so unmagnanimous in nature that it doesn't, or just can't make any sense to them..

    This is incredibly narrow minded, and if your argument is that he didn't deserve it, then you need to take a few marshmallows out from in front of your eyes and witness reality, he didn't deserve it, but things that aren't good happen..

    The voice of Joel himself, Troy Baker said something like this, and I'm paraphrasing quite freely but the point remains the same.. He said; People need to allow themselves to enjoy Joel and Ellie' stories and not the story they want..

    Which I think is perfect for summing up the exact opposite of how almost everyone has reacted to this game, just get upset at how it didn't go the way they think it should have and say its a piece of garbage regardless of anything else or the fact that it's brilliant.. "IMO"

    Okay so Joel gets his head bashed in with a golf club, and it's by this **** named Abby that, for a fairly long time playing, no one knows who is but it's clear she has some kind of problem with Joel, and that's the main reason for all the hate.. Clearly this gets explained as the game goes on, however..

    People are saying, mostly, that he shouldn't have been in such a stupid position as getting surrounded by strangers and then giving his name, which prompts Abby to blow his knee out with a shotgun before going to town..

    But at that point, it had been 25 years since the outbreak began and his daughter was killed, 4 years since "saving" Ellie, and two years since he had to tell Ellie the truth about other people with immunity being a lie and what had really happened that night at the hospital..

    That being said at the beginning of Part 2 Joel is very obviously a different man, he is weaker, because he is older, has been through so much and also due to the fact that he and Ellie had grown apart over Joel's decision 4 years ago, and she now resents him for what he did...

    On top of all that, it is perfectly understandable, and humanly acceptable that Joel and Tommy had grown a little careless or more trusting of strangers in need of help after living in Jackson comparatively comfortably to the previous 20 years of the outbreak...

    Meaning they simply let their guard down, especially forgivable seeing as they were in the middle of a worsening snow storm that would have killed them all, so they acted quickly and on what was now, weakened instinct..

    Playing as Abby is copping ridiculous hate as well, I think it's amazing storytelling the way it goes in and out of time periods and shows exactly what was happening with Abby at the time of Joel "saving" Ellie as well as the events of Seattle days 1-3, and it all reveals crucial information which, in case anybody didn't notice, is all explanation as to why this games story goes the way it does.. In conclusion, the game is not hindered by poor or lazy writing, that's why it has the professional critic score that it has, because it's amazingly good.. Retrospectively that is also why THEY are the critics and everyone else just posts their dumbass opinions on the internet without a shred of insight to them..

    What this game is hindered by, is a shockingly large lack of people able to make use of critical thinking and enjoy something for what it is rather than whinge because its not what they wanted.. Spoiled Little Gamer Syndrome.. Peace..    … Expand

    Loved the game. The way I experienced it was quite intense and in the end it left me feeling numb. It really is an emotional rollercoaster - you go through strong (mostly negative) different emotions - love, hate, grief which i loved but the majority of people who played the game didnt.

Time passed and I was playing the game just to complete it. While playing as Abby I lost it even more but gain more interest when they “killed” Tommy. I was hyped for how the game was evolving. When I got the the second to last fight of Ellie and Abby, I was shocked with the way they let Ellie live(I loved that). When Ellie went back for Abby I was hyped, waiting for the final fight. Once I got there and completed everything, fought Abby and I was expecting her death but Ellie let her go. That was a complete dissapointment for me, I felt like I wasted my entire life waiting on this game to basically get screwed by a **** ending by Ellie letting Abby go. Story was terrible, terrible start and terrible ending. Gameplay is awesome and the game looks beautiful. The game was not worth the wait. It’s not worth playing at all, I would’ve rather watched the gameplay on Youtube than playing the whole game and feeling like crap. NOT WORTH IT AT ALL.… Expand

    So you get up in the morning, you’re brimming with excitement because the game you waited so long for is finally here. You pick up your pre order, you start the game and you’re discovering new characters and that’s fine because it’s TLOU universe. You start playing Joel and nostalgia fills your heart and you save a girl named Abby from some infected with your brother Tommy and you follow her to her safehouse and there, Abby shoots you in the leg and tortures you and bashes your head with a golf club. You die. 2 hours into the game.

    And now you play as Ellie and they make you kill a dog, you are given no choice in this, and the same dog is playing with Abby. Manipulative much?

    You play as Abby for a good 40% of the game, even if you are still angry at the character, you are forced to play her. You understand her journey, but you (my choice) still resent her for what she did to Joel. You are back as Ellie and you go on your journey of revenge and you set off killing people who are affiliated with Abby. In the end, you are made to fight Ellie as Abby and you are meant to hurt her, the beloved character you have grown so much to love.

    The final moments of the game is Ellie letting Abby live, and “realising” that revenge is bad and they we should break the circle. Well how about the other people Ellie killed along the way? There is no lesson in this game. There was no need for this game to “teach us” something. The game was depression.    … Expand

The games been getting a lot of hate for the story like Joel’s death or Abby getting spared at the end of the game. I personally love the story and I am currently replaying it right now. Also a lot of the hate is coming from people who haven’t even played and only looked at spoilers with I find stupid just give the game a chance. The hate coming from the story on Joel’s death I get but you got to realize Joel killed abbys father with made Abby want to kill Joel with I understand and the ending of hate is also fine but again you got to realize Ellie probably didn’t want it to go on. Leaving aside politics, ideologies, and any type of social thinking, this game is a half cooked improvement of the mechanics you found in the first one, contrary to the technical jump from Uncharted 3 to 4, the set pieces and action choreography obviously feels way more "real" but empty, the jump mechanic wasn't necessary at all, it'sJust passed to the second half of the game. The graphics are amazing, top notch, but overshadowed by what we already saw in vibrancy, fluency and sharpness over God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and even Uncharted. Ok it's a given that the scenarios can't be as magical as those, nonetheless, aside from certain scenarios and layouts, everything its just meh. Those are my main complain with the technical aspects of the game, starting from a 10, these points took away 4 points of this score. Now looking at the story and acting, there's enough said around here. The performances of every single character are incredible, aside from the nuances of their personas, it was a damn impressing interpretation. Moving on into the story, well, it feels like a power trip from you know who. He even self references himself in a uncomfortable sex scene, and in a collectible item, that's just disgusting to me. I'm not even gonna mention the story that they supervised... It's just bleak, and straight up violence porn. I'm so sorry. Hold your money for another game. And start analyzing who the reviewers are, how biased is the gaming media, and what they want to force upon us, the customers. It let me speechless that even Polygon was critical of the agenda and despiction of violence in favor of "the plot". With those little comments, now I upheld in better opinion Polygon vs IGN. And if you love videogames as I do, that's really saying something. Please, use your money wisely, now more than ever. It may be better save the cash for the upcoming months, it's gonna be a really hard time to be spending on videogames, specially when they are as poor implemented as this one.… Expand

Amazing game in all its aspects - responsive and very fluid gameplay evolved from the first game, fresh story that's not only about survival or violence or revenge but also a tale of love, the path to extreme darkness and back to the light. It's about perspective on things - even the most righteous things that matter to you can be the very definition of `wrong` to another person. This game has torn me inside out - creative and unexpected writing just gets you emotional.

    Graphics are top-notch, nothing even compares to this by the level of detail, lighting, animation today. TLOU2 gives you one of the best NaughtyDog's set-pieces ever- skywalk episode, seraphites' island escape, Ratking fight at the hospital (so scary), and many more.

    Nuanced score by Gustavo Santaolalla, emotional covers of Pearl Jam and a-ha songs by Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker create the perfect atmosphere. Not to mention their Oscar-worthy performances - all their mutual scenes and chemistry gives me chills every time I watch them.

Fantastic Story was great to feel the switch in myself between hate and love for the characters. i'm not going to put spoilers in this review.. .     I like it its not bad its just a tad different and boring. But i played it on different difficulties and if you play it on harder difficulties its actually pretty fun. The one thing i will say is that its a bit too long but its still fun.

It’s not better than the first one but this one is really good. The graphics are really good and the mechanics are good too. I hate Joel’s death not only because he died but the way he died and the fact that you play as a killer makes it worse but after completing the game I understand why she killed him. Although Joel was a really good character he wasn’t really a good guy which made him a target. The ending was bad but it made sense how Ellie saw that Abby was kind of like a Joel to Lev and so she decided not to kill her.… Expand

The game is twice as long. The world isn't black and white, you get to see the entire game from both perspectives which given the evidence of... a lot of people can't seem to grasp that concept of. They think because a story doesn't go they're way and isn't ''happy'' it makes the whole thing terrible. Anybody can think of a story that the average tlou fan wants, that isn't a hard thing to do which would be another Joel and Ellie game much MUCH like the first, that would be so predictable and boring.. we already had that and this is the next step in evolution of Ellie's character.
    This is a game that took a massive risk! It doesn't pay off in every way ( about 2 times off the top of my head ) in terms of plot sure, but bravo for being one of the very few companies brave enough to do so! Tbh i don't think the average person is ready to take the harshness and brutality of this games universe which can at times be closer to the ugly reality than almost anything else in media. Too many people think that a sad or a story or a story that doesn't go their own way is a bad story that just is so wrong. i read comments about this game over the internet and it's pretty clear the way they describe the plot and characters that they A. haven't played it B. get the facts wrong C.     Unfortunately for whatever reason the developers decided to take a perfectly fine concept of the first chapter and added completely unnecessary forced and artificial SJWing. Characters now are poorly written but appealing to somewhat trending SJW fashion of vocal minority. Whole game feels like forced love plotline from the last Star Wars trilogy between that Finn and Rose - poorly written, completely artificial and out of place, it is Game of Thrones final bad. And by the way they've cast Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of the "female" characters. No joke, there is a certain line between male and female even if the latter is a bodybuilder and is ripped af, that line is nowhere to be found, what they did was just take Arny's body and head-swapped the character. This game is wasted potential, ruined forever since it is canon and it won't be fixed like Sonic movie rendering for example. You know when the company actually listened about their mistake instead of insulting and aggravating customers? Like even EA did couple of times with Mass Effect ending and BFront2 and even somewhat BFV?

    It is shame that game narrative and "trendy artistic vision" decisions are so bad that completely overshadow fine sound, mechanics, motion capture, graphics and other unrelated things that are actually ok. It is just like a tumor in the brain - kills completely working body.

    Rent the game for 5 bucks if you like trash and want new kind of disappointment, don't buy for full price or on sale.

    As for the media and reviews from media companies - they just doing their work to get money. You won't see them criticizing the arm that feeds them. If you want honest opinions - watch your favorite streamer review or read couple of honest metacritic users, or if your are immune to massive disappointments - try playing yourself.    … Expand

But the story is where this game falls apart completely trying to be a Kojima thing trying to be controversial. But trying the player like a character that kills by TORTURING the main character of the first game that saves her life seconds before, and then demanding the player to play with her and see her version? I had fun on this game but this is not a 10/10 i paid for this full price, and and if was a 8 i would paid too but i was ready for a master piece, meta critic should investigate the IDs of the "specialists" that gave perfect scores of a trash story telling like this, the only channel that if was to give 10/10 is digital foundry because of the tec behind the engine and even there is not a ten.… Expand

    I never played anything like this game, I spent forty hours to get through the game ... After reading the news about the criticism of the players that came down, I was upset and stunned. Why? Emotional involvement, graphics, characters, plot ... I definitely recommend this product.

    Игра великолепна, начиная с первых кадров и до последнего. Да, сюжет очень тяжелый. Повествование идет не спеша, иногда хотелось бы более насыщенного отрезка игры. За каждого персонажа ты переживаешь. Игра получилась очень взрослой. Пропагандой не пахнет, лишь редкие нестандартные ситуации для жителей СНГ. Но ставить за этот момент игре 0 баллов - глупость. Видя флешбеки игрок неосознанно проникается атмосферой и любовью из первой части. Плохие оценки ставят "горящие" игроки, которые ждали доброты и любви, но к сожалению сюжет повернул совсем в другую сторону. Да больно, да тяжело. Но игра феноменальна. Графика, оптимизация, локализация радует. Провели огромную работу. Приятно даже собирать припасы и наблюдать за анимацией. Будьте готовы к очень взрослому и серьезному сюжету, который не оставит Вас равнодушными. Разработчики предполагали, что сообщество разделится на две группы. То что сюжет разбил сердце - не означает, что игра заслуживает "0". Как минимум за все мелочи и проработку игра заслуживает похвалы. Естественно 10/10 ставлю. Надеюсь разработчиков не испугает реакция игроков. Ведь последние несколько лет не хватает очень серьезных проектов. Душа была вложена в этот проект. Чувствуется. Уважению нет границ. Спасибо всем, кто приложил руку к данному шедевру. Надеюсь мы увидим подобные проекты, которые заставляют восторгаться, кричать и плакать одновременно!!!!

    Sadly the story could not live up to the standards of the first one. The gameplay is the same as the first one for the most part but even that wasn't as good (the AI and the map layout is much worse). Overall HUGE disappointment.

Terrible misleading marketing, the bully boy tactics and general behaviour of ND and Sony and that is without mentioning the Swiss cheese plot, abysmal characters and awful script writing. The first game made me cry out loud several times, this one on the other hand made me cry becouse of how dissapointing it is.     Меня не сильно взбесило что убили гг 1й части (я был уверен что он умрет во 2й...но не так и не так быстро!) а взбесило меня что всю 2ю половину игры мы играем за тестостероную обезьяну!
    зачем? Я НЕ ХОЧУ ЗА НЕЕ ИГРАТЬ! 2я часть игры полный бред. Я удалил игру после 1го дня за эбби и посмотрел концовку в ютубе.
    Финал это вообще...такого плохого я еще не видел, в нем все плохо. Игру не советую покупать.
    Так же в игру есть постоянное "превосходство женщины"

    Very disappointing.

    If you have played the original TLOU then you most likely would agree that what made the game so special was the story of Joel and Ellie bonding, Joel learning to care for a young girl after losing his own daughter, their journey and the characters they met along the way. The gameplay was never the best. The graphics were just fine. But the game was one of the best of    Very disappointing.

    The story in this game feels empty compared to before, the emotion has been replaced by endless violence. The new characters have no depth, I never felt any real connection between them while I played. Characters would die and be forgotten for the rest of the game before you really even knew who they was. The only time they did a decent job building a relationship in this game was between Abbie and Owen. And the problem was I didnt really care because of the weird order they told this story in. I understood that they wanted us to see things fromthe other perspective (Abbies) to show that everyone can be the villian or the hero in a story like this. But that was the only message and it was drilled home for 30 hours. The game needed to build Ellies relationship alot more to make me care. The game needed to make me care about Abbie BEFORE she takes her golf lesson. Because after that playing Abbie was a massive depressing chore. 30 of hours of gameplay and cut scenes and at the end I couldnt care less about anyone or anything. I shouldnt get to the end of the game and not care, not this game. The only thing that I wanted was at the end was to get my revenge and they didnt even allow us that!


    Gameplay and Graphics are fine (Nothing special) but was never the reason I played the game. Just a massive let down. Played for 30 hours and the entire game is just forcing you to do stuff you dont want to do and then makes you feel **** about it. Lucky to get a 2/10 from me but I felt generous.    … Expand

Нас заставляют почувствовать ненависть и злость к врагам, после чего игрок идет к своей цели убежденный в правильности своих порывов. Затем игрока и Элии постепенно подводят к очередным поражениям и заставляют сомневаться в правильности своих действий. Далее в момент шока и недосказанности игрока заставляют взглянуть на ситуацию с другой стороны. Игрок не обязан симпатизировать Эбби но он должен понять ее мотивы и увидеть к чему приводит путь жестокости. Ее жизнь рушиться, у нее остаеться последний человек который ей дорог и нас снова побуждают к мести но Эбби вовремя останавливаеться и видит что после может быть еще хуже. Следом к этой черте невозрата и выводу подводят и игрока. Нам показывают Элли которая осела с Диной на ранчо и они живут вполне спокойной жизнью. Здесь игроком ожидаеться хотя бы какой то скудный хэппи энд но игроку внезапно показывают, что Элли по прежнему не свыклась с утратой и что ее мучает чувство вины и посттравматический синдром. Она снова убежденна в своей правоте а игрок закатывает глаза говоря, что ты только все испортишь, прекрати. Она добираеться до Эбби и на секунду кажеться что Элли отпустит ее видя что враг уже настрадался, но тут снова дает о себе знать расстройство при которых люди действуют импульсивно и необдуманно. Она почти завершает месть но не переходит черту подумав о Джоэле. Она не прощает Эбби. Только игрок возможно проникся если не уважением и симпатией к ней то точно ознакомленн с ее мотивацией. Элли не переходит черту из за того, что наконец отпускает чувство вины и уходит. В конце игрок и Элли ощущают грусть, тоску и пустоту которая усиливаеться пустым домом и очередными разрушенными отношениями из за одержимости человека какой то плохой идеей.
    Так же в игре показанны(максимализированны) типичные недопонимания родителей и детей (Элли зла на Джоела, который ее любит и ею дорожит) проблема как раз этой фанатичности что тоже рушит отношения(Оуен и Эбби, Элли и Дина, Томми и Мари).
    Для меня почему то особенно остро было наблюдать за психологической травмой Элли и ее попытка простить Джоэла как родителя.
    Эта игра плоха только некими мелкими шераховатостями либо тем что этот сюжет не для всех, его нужно почувствовать и понять что он работает так как нужно, он делает тебе больно выжимая и приводя к подобию отвращения, напряжения и отпускания.

    Здесь подойдут поговорки вроде: "имея не ценим-потерявши плачем" либо любимая призсказка всех родителей, которая бесит и меня:вырастишь - поймешь))    … Expand

    I have completed this game and I enjoyed the gameplay and obviously the graphics are really good. But the story is a deal breaker for me.     Visuals 9/10: the Game looks gorgeous. The animation of the face to convey emotions is very spot on so you can actually read the characters without them having to explain their emotions. the takedowns and especially the cutscenes are incredibly gruesome and most certainly over the top.

    Story ?/10: .... The first part of the Game Is nice to play and is a good introduction into the Game after the character goes to Seattle the game picks up Steam while you play as Ellie the story is very nice especially in the flashbacks. The way you slaughter your way through the enemies. You fully understand the decisions of Ellie and have to watch her mentally unravel killing everyone in her way. about a 7.5/10 up to here Close to the final encounter the game leaves you on an insane cliffhanger and forces you to play a different character Abby, the same character that drove you on this entire revenge quest, and honestly this part of the game is by far the worst. in the entire 13h playtime of Abby, it never felt like it really belonged into the main game, it felt like an afterthought put in to make the player miserable every chance the game gets, you play the same events leading up to the cliffhanger just from the enemies Point of view, the only redeeming part of this "Sidequest" was the Subquest around Lev&Yara, every other character isn't even written likable so there is a 10-15h Part of the game that doesn't serve any purpose with maybe the exception of reminding and taunting the player with what happened in the game up to that point, in Ellie's part the Flashbacks were a nice break from the Killing but in Abby's part they just seem to be put in to pad the runtime. At the end of this part, you are forced to play as Abby and fight Ellie, neither die from this encounter. This part is maybe a 2/10. Next character switch, you play as Ellie again, who settled down with her Girlfriend Dina and Dina's child JJ, everything seems like the game ending 30 minutes of gameplay with Ellie successfully breaking the Circle of hate and revenge. Thou it is clear that Ellie suffers from her action and what she witnessed. One day Tommy (Joel's brother) visits and asks why she has stopped hunting Abby after that Ellie decides to end the circle differently by just killing Abby. You play as Abby again in Santa Barbara looking for clues to the Fireflies after you find what you were looking for you are ambushed and now you play as Ellie and hunt her down. there will be a confrontation between Abby and Ellie in the end no one dies but Ellie loses some fingers. The end is maybe a 4/10

    Sound & Music 7/10: Sound in this game is very scary and disturbing in places your hands will get sweaty when you hear the clicking of clickers or the whistling of the scars. The music, on the other hand, is nice but not quite as memorable as in the first game

    Difficulty 9/10: the simple fact that you can basically change anything in the game, for example, make ammo more abundant or scarcer. you can change how fast ai will detect you and so on. this game has the right difficulty setting for any player if its the first time they have played a third-person shooter or this is their millions time.

    Overall 4/10: Sadly this Game with the insane down your throat Story was at parts an 8/10 but sadly it guilt trips you for 10h+. I would still recommend you play the game or at least take a look on stream or youtube. Deep down this ist a fantastic game just the story and the "Sidequest" destroy the game.    … Expand

    La primera parte se destaco por su historia brillante y por el desarrollo perfecto de sus personajes, pero en esta segunda parte no hay nada de eso.
    buenos gráficos, buena jugabilidad, etc... pero la parte mas importante, la historia, es muuuuy floja y pierde el sentido según avanzas en el juego.
    El mensaje que pretende dar es muy bueno pero no consigue transmitirlo.

The biggest and one of the strongest Emotional spectrum of what game can makes you to feel . Love,Hate,fear,sadness,revenge taste,and even a depression of how strong this apocalyptic world feels real. Gameplay is great, Only reason why this game is not 10/10 is when you are like me who enjoys exploring every part of such a world and tries to take it as much real experience as possible with slow crouch quite walking and Pre - ADS aiming in every risky corner or area as you would do in real life if you would want survive ofc ... then you will get lil bit punished by too longer phases in between of story telling because as some people are saying its already long even if you run it like in Arcade which would definitely ruin real feel of this experience which other wise this world and game can definitely offer you on another level if we are not including RDR2. Another thing that makes me to not give this other wisely epic game full of revenge and post apo feel is for me atleast not sympathetic story ending which could have been done better or changed completely. But I think problem with this is the reality that everyone would act differently as a person in such a situation and its most likely not happening this way in real life with all the emotions that humans being can feel. So thats why I didn't believe Ellie would spared Abby's life right after she bite off her fingers with all those adrenaline and emotions it would not happen. And also i didn't believe Ellie could get over her PTSD because she clearly wasn't psychopathic person but highly emotional and all what happened and led her to that final last guitar play with missing fingers and Dina,JJ would probably be too hard to get over with her highly emotional personality so thats why even i sympathize with Ellie so much i predicted seeing her walking out (camera look from that window) commiting some suicidal act. Thats why I think there is so many negative reviews because people can't see that logic ending of this story because it made more damage than benefit to Ellie and her emotions,closer ones. But truth is thats how life sometimes is ,even the whole universe has no real deeper sense behind him and that's why I can forgive it to this story ending because besides it as a whole, it was some post apo revenge emotionally real feel experience ride.… Expand

    I don't remember being as emotionally exhausted by any other game ever and I liked it. A story this ballsy can't obviously be for everyone but that's what makes this game so special. In my personal opinion TLOU2 is the bravest sequel since MGS2 and I would like to see more games like this. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
