First of all, there is a difference between a bad game and a game that you don't like.

I finished the game couple of days ago so, I took a day or two to process my feelings about the whole storyline of this game I feel miserable, sad and depressed, I feel like I have a hole in my chest after finishing the game. No wonder it is facing huge criticism from the fans. I don't think this is a bad game but a game that I didn't like. It is a miserable game and that's how it was meant to be. It was meant to be divisive, it was meant to make you feel the roller coaster of emotions that you were going through throughout the game. I don't think any game has made me this miserable before and that's what this game does well.

This game isn't perfect but just look at the Metacritic scores: 100/100. I don't get it, how?

Also, I understand that there will always be trolls who haven't even played the game yet commenting stupid stuff calling people out in the company for pushing agendas but it is just outrageous calling your ultimate consumers incels, transphobic, homophobic, sexist bots for not liking the game.

Now the ending it leads me in complete despair. I completely understand people who are saying it was a thrash ending. There is a loop of getting revenge, losing things, murder, getting revenge, losing more. Ellie broke the circle finally but it felt like it was too late for that and weird time to break the circle. I wanna be happy that she grew as a person but again I am miserable because she had lost everything to get that.
Now on Abby's side of things. She was a decent character but I never ended up liking her.

The first of half of the game when we were playing as Ellie I thought this was a 10/10 game but when we swapped to Abby I kinda lost interest I am not gonna lie ( the only time I somewhat enjoyed playing as her was when we had to defeat the rat king and WLF vs Scars battle)

I just didn't like Abby although I understood where she was coming from.

Like the surgeon who you mindlessly killed in the last game had a huge impact on the story, I like that tie-up. They introduced Abby at the very beginning of the game and then she kills our beloved character from the last game. The thing I don't understand is why did they think that we will ever like her?

I felt like I couldn't sympathise with her, I understood her but I couldn't connect to her which Naughty dog desperately wanted you to.

You built up this crazy story with Joel and Ellie and then you move into the first game and then move into the second game where you kill Joel right at the start and then you only get to play with Ellie for the first half the game and then right at the end. I didn't like that.

I think Abby could have been a good offshoot game. A totally separate story in the same universe but don't throw her into this. Not with Ellie and Joel.
And what is up with killing all the wonderful side characters? Now, Joel's death is particulars tough to swallow because the way he died was just not acceptable.
The story didn't let him and Ellie explore their relationship. They just cut it off with his sudden death. Now about Joel, he is a hard & tough survivor, always on his game and not trusting people. But all of a sudden he starts acting willy nilly running to an unknown base.
It was forced and little hard to make logic of.
it was a tough scenario I understand like they were getting ambushed they really didn't have a choice. But still, at the same time, I wish his death meant more to Naughty dog.
I wished there were some more things that had taken place before his death
He was the hero of the first game and we lost him immediately.
I appreciate the flashbacks but that does not rationalize anything.
This is a gloomy sad miserable game that scared me and depressed me, to be honest, It was hard to play this game for an extended period because it was so dismal.

As per the gameplay, TLOU 2 is a great survivor horror-based game. The openness, graphic, animations, cinematography, verticality and mechanics.
What else can we expect from a 2020 game?

Verdict: After 7 years of wait, I was not expecting this cruelty. I don't know why Naughty dog couldn't give us what we wanted after waiting for this long.
Imagine how bad the Naughty dog team must be feeling who have worked hard for 7 years and facing such backlash just because of a dimwit named Neil Druckman.

Misleading trailers, editing stills, desperate attempts to lure people in. Very petty and shallow marketing tactics I would say. You already have a massive fan base why would you do that?
Injustice was done to Joel, Ellie and the fans.
The rage is rage and criticism is justified according to me.
Abby geta a clean slate whereas Ellie lost everything including her 2 fingers. Farewell to her guitar skills.

My Rating 5/10 (for the hardworking people behind it)

AND on top of that, people are saying all bad reviews are due to homofobia? LGBTQ+ hate? Really? No chance of it being due to the game having flaws in a lot of people's eyes, or what do we call it, their opinion? Both sides are being really pathetic over this, this game has drastic changes compared to the first one, they take away the things people love from the series, people won't react nicely, but to blame it all on minor aspects of the game like a character being trans or the other being really muscular? If you really liked the game you would listen what others think about this game, be it good or bad and allowing discussion, but how people are acting is really infuriating, i really liked a lot of parts of this game, mostly Abby parts, but how the game at it's core is all mixed up, i cant bring myself to give this game a rating higher than 5, and how people are acting like this is **** whilst ignoring the technical aspects, gameplay and all other things due to the critics reviews is unfair makes me not want to give this game a score under 5. And as counter measures people are counter review bombing this with 10's making the other side continue bombing this with 0's, the thing i recommend the most for you to do is, play the game, form your opinion, dont baseless say this game is a masterpiece because other people are saying its trash, dont say its trash since other people say its a unflawed. Form your opinion. And i hope people stop ignoring this game's flaws and this game's right doings.
This game's reviews is a prime example why people shouldn't trust reviews and should trust their own gut. And if someone were to ask me: "Should i buy this game?" i'd tell them no, but there's always a chance you could like it.

Beautiful game, spot on voice acting, sub-par story with any sense of achievement or fulfilment from playing the game through to completion denied to you. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ve only and I can’t stress enough on ONLY given this game a three star review and that is pushing it like genuine review probably 4.5 - 5 out of 10 and that is solely based on the parts where you play as Ellie, and the gameplay as a whole because if you liked/loved TLOU the gameplay is more or less the same and being a guitar fan I do like the little snippets of Ellie’s new talent being put on show, but that is where the good in this game ends completely, but I’ll explain.

I felt lied to from the trailers and overwhelming disappointed in the direction they chose for this game, I absolutely hate and I mean actually hate the character Abby and wanted nothing more than to stop her from breathing in the game I don’t give a rats arse about her backstory, maybe if she was in the first game and it was about her, but no, she is the invader and she is a psychopathic monster that I just wanted the closure of killing her to end that game, but even if I did get that when finishing the game there is absolutely nothing as a reward, Ellie this character that we have grown to love has been dragged through the mud and made to be some mental case and is ultimately left with nothing, “congratulations for finishing the game all that’s left is for the main character to kill herself because why not” they couldn’t of destroyed what was a masterpiece of a story more if they tried (wait no they could make you play as Abby for longer that would do it) first thing I did when I was forced to play as this terrible character is run to the first point where I was able to get killed, I no lo her cared about getting caught by enemy’s or detected by infected I just ran straight in, I mean I wasn’t getting any satisfaction from the game I might aswell get it from watching the character i just wanted to die from the start die over and over again. This game was about as enjoyable as bowel cancer... if you make a part III please just use it to erase the abortion of a game this was by making it all a horrible dream. And this time don’t pretend to include characters you kill off in the first 30 minutes of the game. It’ll take a lot to earn your fan base’s trust back Naughty dog, but for the sake of the amazing content you use to make, I hope you do.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Naughty Dog was my second best game company after Rockstar but they are no where near my tenth as of now. They ruined a perfectly likeable game and character for literally everyone. There's so many ways this story could have gone. The fact that they deliberately decided to murder a beloved character in the most contrived and gruesome way possible while fully understanding the effects of this choice on the millions of fans out there is as disrespectful as it is outrageous. There's so many ways the story could've progressed without killing off Joel. Pretty much everyone's "raison d'être" for playing the game. I probably could've come up a better story than this contrived **** being force fed to fans because they lack the motivation to tell a good compelling and engaging story like the prequel. If they wanted revenge to be the backbone of this story, they could have pulled it off regardless in a remarkable fashion without having to murder the main reason why people were gonna buy the game. This obviously explains why they lied to everyone about everything. Even the trailer was a **** lie. If you wanted a revenge story and relished the thought of murdering one of the characters, why not perhaps kill off Tommy and have Joel and Ellie go avenge his death. Seems pretty logical to me. The Joel in the TLOU certainly will do that if he lost his brother and I can totally see Ellie tagging along considering Joel will be pretty old and not as agile and strong as he used to be. If that's still too extreme, why not murder say a pregnant Maria and leave Tommy badly injured in a raid so much that he has to rely on Joel and Ellie to exact revenge for his beloved wife in his stead. Or why not destroy the town, kill a few people if you have to and mortally hurt Joel if you wanted to have Ellie go solo. Beat him up, even shoot off his leg like you did but keep him alive. It will make better sense why Ellie spared Abby's life in the end.
I could think of so many other scenarios and despite not being a writer, I can tell the story was forced. Forced so much that even if they tried, there will always still be loose ends and half plots to deal with. The game just feels broken and messed up on so many levels, I can't help but think this is some sort of a propaganda story. They had no reason to kill off Joel, yet they did, to prove a useless point that makes no sense at all.
I'm not gonna say anything positive about this game because when you start a game on such a badly horrific note, that's what you're gonna get. It destroyed the experience for me and I can't help but wish the game never released at all. Or it released with completely different characters telling a completely different story. You deserve a lot less than you're getting Naughty Dog. Better be grateful!

The Story and Characters (The Writing):
It is bad. It had some good ideas but the execution is very poorly done. The more you think about the story the more you realize how bad and nonsensical it is. You'll have plot points happen which are plain stupid and have characters do things which frankly make no sense. The pacing needed a lot of work and considering how high expectations were for the writing with The Last of Us Part II being a narrative driven game this is not good. FYI it isn't terrible because it has some good moments and if restructured could have been better than what we got.

    Gameplay:
What's a game without gameplay. The Last of Us Part II's gameplay is solid. It plays the exact same way as the first game with the addition of a dodge button and a few tweaks to movement and combat (honestly its like a clunkier Uncharted 4...) but the gameplay is average, it works although more innovation would have been nice.

Technical Aspects (Graphics, Sound Design, Music, Voice Acting):
From a technical stand point the game is amazing. The graphics are absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail is a thing to behold. The sound in this game is wonderful too, the musical score and voice acting are top notch and a pleasure to listen to. Technical aspect wise they nailed it (although there's some technical issues to iron out and enemies could have used some more variety).

    Final Thoughts:
The Last of Us Part II is an average game. The story and the writing is bad yes but the game itself is okay. The solid gameplay and great technical aspects help make the game better. That being said given all the hype and expectation it is a huge letdown and definitely soured me towards the franchise.

(It's not a bad game in spite of the poor writing but I also wouldn't call it good either and definitely not amazing. Average game)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TLDR @ the bottom.

The original Last of Us released 7 years ago when I was at the age of 14, it has always been regarded as the best game that I have ever played due to it's story telling, world building, sound design, character development, and graphics. So heading into The Last of Us Part 2, I had high expectations of course, Naughty Dog was well established as a amazing game development company that is always pushing the envelope. So heading into the game I was completely left in the dark, I did not watch reviews, or check out any of the story spoilers.

The Last of Us Part 2 continues to push boundaries in regards to the graphics, sound design and overall immersiveness but it falls flat on it's story telling. When entering Seattle and taking in the level designs it's absolutely gorgeous how the game looks, and how it presents itself overall. The first half of the game keeps you captivated, it was absolutely amazing to play as Ellie again. You come to understand a lot more about Ellie and what happened during the years between the first game and the second game. Just as we hit the climax however, the story stops completely and begins the second half of the game. It kills all momentum from the first half and I felt the need to speed past this section of the game so I continue on the Ellie's story.

Abby's section felt slow, I wasn't really invested into her story, mostly because I more invested in Ellie due to the first game. Now I'm not sure if this is the games problem, or a me problem, I just could not get into Abby's story emotionally. I feel like it's partially due to how she is shown during the first act of the story. We see her as cold, and brutal, and then the game tries to make us sympathize with her. I believe if they showed her flashbacks and story first and then Ellie's we would have come to understand her more. I don't hate her story, I just dislike how she is portrayed.

I don't hate the game, I find it enjoyable at times and really amazing in a lot aspects, if Naughty Dog's aim was to make you feel a roller-coaster of emotions, I'd say they did it. A lot of people like this game, and a lot of people hate it, I think the best course of action is to experience it yourself, wither that through playing the game(would wait for a sale) or watching someone play. You make like it, you may hate it, or maybe find it okay, I personally find the game okay, it's a not a bad game, but it's not a good game. It's an okay game. It definitely does not deserve a 0/10, but it does not desire a 10/10.

    Ratings:
    Graphics: 10/10
    Sound: 10/10
    Level Design: 10/10
    Gameplay: 10/10

How are you able to mess up characters like that? There is a short * Tasteful Scene* in the game which nearly lead me to STOP playing the game because of how utterly disgusting it was. The end is so bad it questions you why the heck you played the game to get such a dumb ending.

Gameplay: is good if you like the ctrl+c - ctrl+v from the first one with some small changes. This however was not good enough for me. Too easy to do certainly when you had so many years of development!

The Last of Us PT. 2 is a well made game. Visually it grasps an aspect of reality that no other game has of yet. But, it fails to portray a fully convincing or entertaining story that was expected as a sequel. Being that this is a story focused game, too much weight was placed on it. In the first game that helped because the story was good, in this one, it falls apart

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Technically the game is pretty decent but I personally was disappointed caz of main story. It repeats 1 part like killing crucial character. No doubt Joel deserved be dead considering what he's done to people before but the fact that he and Tommy told unknown people their names so easily makes me sad. The whole story of Abby is garbage as for me. The only thing you want all the game is to kill her but the game tries to change your ming unsuccessfully. She kills her ex-mates for Lev so easily and without a doubt like a butcher. There is a long break between 2 story lines of Ellie and Abby so can loose the story line. They should have mixed chapters or show Abby's story before Joel's death so we can understand her feelings and actions. However we just want to kill Abby as fast as we can. That's why people confused about the epilog when Ellie decides to let Abby go. We just can't take it. Well in my mind it should be 2 dialogue phrases to choose for Ellie talking with Joel in the night. The first means she won't forgive him and all of the well-known thing happen and the second phrase ( unlocks after passing unlucky ending perhaps) whe she forgives him and they go together nex morning in patrol (happy ending). This would be the logical continuation of the last of us part 1. I'm very sad about what I've seen. Like separate game it's OK but considering 1 part it's total garbage in terms of the story and how it failed... Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My opinion on this game. This game fails to keep the character's consistently written. Joel's behavior leading to his death doesn't match his character from the last game. Yes, I've heard people saying he has let his guard down because he was in safe settlement for 4 years. Dude , who would let the f@cking guard down, follow a group of strangers in a world where murder is a common occurrence. Wait there is more, Tommy knew the place that Abby's friends were staying at the start of the game (the lodge) which means they've been there and had probably marked it down as a clear building with no infected nor other humans. And when they arrive at the lodge they don't question who they are where did they came from, Tom and Joel are just chilling with complete strangers. This is not the first time characters are being stupid or making stupid decisions that could cost there f@cking life. That could be seen also with Abby close at the end of the game where Abby finds a radio and tells a complete stranger her location, her name, that she is a firefly . Moreover back to joel, from the start of the first last of us you could see Joel didn't want to to take any unnecessary risks. I remember this scene from the start of the game before the infection took over the world where Tommy , Joel and his daughter were in a car and Joel didn't want to stop and pick up a family that were in random road alone ,he knew they would be a burden. So don't tell me Joel just changed as character all of the sudden . There a lot more I don't like about the storyline this video is how I feel the storyline should have been : (no linking)
Graphics for me for a PS4 console look amazing 9/10
The gameplay in its core feels like the first last of us with some changes of course ,you can go prone, stealth in grass the AI is greatly improved from their last games. There are some bosses that makes it feel like you are playing resident evil.
Gameplay 8/10 I did like the gameplay feels fun
I feel bad for the people who worked on this game for days to make it look good, run well, detailed so much of the environment , the cinematography is really good the only problem is the writing it is not consistently realistic as the first game was.

I didn’t mind the bait in switch in characters and towards halfway through the game , I could see that the first protagonist went too far in her actions and that the second protagonist was actually the good guy. Mechanics: 6/10 - The mechanics are very old, the bots are dumb, there are a lot of bugs and shortcomings.
Plot: 2/10 - a very weak plot, I did not like it. We are told about the path of revenge, which loses its meaning towards the end.

The ending would need to change so that Ellie gets her revenge which gives the player meaning to carry on to the end.

personally I couldn't care less about the inclusion of LGBTQ characters as long as it feels natural and doesn't feel like they were placed into a game just for the sake of ticking boxes. As a gamer, I don't want to see political agendas in a game I just want to enjoy the story/gameplay for example if Abby's dad was a bodybuilder and she wanted to take after her dad then that's more natural and would make sense after her loss but currently, I can't think of any reason why she would become the hulk in a world of harsh survival and scarce resources.

This is a mediocre master piece, with great game play, amazing level design and stunningly beautiful and well done graphics and sound design, the game is pulled from a 10/10 to a 5 due to a poorly written story with out of character moments, as well as using false marketing to boost sales, an overly long story with no pay off makes this master piece a mediocre waste of time. that is not even taking into account the in-dignifying deaths of some characters and for some reason using a character motive as a plot twist (hello?) I really want to write this after I re-watched many cut-scenes from the first TLOU, and it feels like the sequel is nowhere near as good as the first one.
First I’m gonna about the first TLOU. You get to see Joel and Ellie strengthening their bond while crossing the whole country through many cities, towns, fighting against many different enemies in different environments throughout four seasons in a year. We get to see a bad-ass Joel, who is a perfect Father Figure and Ellie - a playful but fearsome 14-yo girl, and seeing them together talking and helping each other out is something I’ve never seen in any forms of entertainment. The ending was so good that I never thought there would be a sequel. BUT LET’S GET REAL HERE... the sequel is just a mess.
In TLOU part 2. It can be seen that the basics stayed almost the same. The graphic is enormously improved and the environment is much more richer and more realistic. Gameplay is improved and songs are excellent - they made mighty impacts on players’ feelings and emotions. But what disappointing was the storytelling. Everything should be connected together from the previous part in a logical and sensible way, but they just use the fact that Joel killed a significantly unimportant surgeon to try to save Ellie, just to make TLOU 2 happened seems really fanfic. Character development is poor and insignificant, like besides from Ellie and Joel, I hardly get a feeling for any characters else. Playing as Ellie doesn’t have the same vibe as the first part when she pretty much just mumbles around being sad because Naughty Dogs’ stupid storytelling (Don’t get me wrong, she’s still awesome and all). Environmental puzzles just disappears, and instead you just follow the route and that’s it. This is spoil-free but half of the game you just play as someone who’s NOT Ellie and it’s pointless. Even up until the end, all I did was watching Joel and Ellie cut-scenes.
My expectation was to see Joel and Ellie rolling again together, but instead ND just punches us hard in the face from the beginning and tries to relief us in the second useless half of the game. When you get to the point when you play as an another character, you’ll be missing playing Ellie so hard.
I love TLOU, I love seeing Joel and Ellie together. I mean this review is a mess already, just like TLOU 2.
IF YOU’RE UP TO THE GAMEPLAY, GO AHEAD AND PLAY. But if you really care about the relationship between Joel and Ellie, or what was good about the first TLOU, keep yourself away from the game, you can listen to Ellie and Joel singing, but don’t play the game.
UPDATE: JUST FINISHED THE GAME, AND IT’S A MESS. RATED FROM 6 TO 2

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Didn’t think I would have to say this about this series but the Last of Us part 2 is a poorly written Story with boring and uninteresting characters and just told in such a awful way for many reasons. My first reason why is due to the way on how Joel died. I wasn’t upset about him dying but I was just upset about the way he died. Joel and Tommy are smart men and Joel knows whenever something is wrong and how to play situations. The fact that Joel and Tommy are not getting any red flags or nothing makes me feel like his death was rushed and they didn’t put at all much care in how to make his death meaningful and believable. Another reason why I dislike the story is how they treated Ellie also. In the first game I LOVED Ellie and she was my favorite character in the first game along side Joel of course. She is a down to earth girl who tries to have fun even though the world that they are in is filled with evil and hate. But in part 2 Ellie is just in my opinion some Ignorant, selfish, uninteresting girl who is just HELLBENT on murdering Abby and her crew to get revenge to which she kills TONS of innocent people and even dogs and just can’t understand why Joel did what he did in the hospital. I also don’t like how the random MPC surgeon that Joel killed suddenly has a Daughter. I think this is lazy writing and could've done better if she was like the daughter of Marlene or maybe related to David. Furthermore, I don't like how they basically shove Abby down your throat and they try SUPER SUPER hard to make you like her to which fails because you had her kill Joel literally in the first like 2 hours even though Joel saved her alongside Tommy too which kills any kind of relationship immediately. I think that the characters on Abby’s side are all either uninteresting or just there to just be there and hold barely any purpose, same even goes for characters like Dina and Jessie to which had a TON of potential. Another thing about Abby, is that she is SO evil and such a awful/dumb person because she was gonna kill Dina even though Ellie said Dina was pregnant and that she had nothing to do with the killings but Abby didn’t care. At least when Ellie killed Mel, she was shocked and sick to her stomach about it. She also even tortured Joel to death in front of Ellie and she kills Jessie and somehow doesn’t kill Tommy when she shot him in the head. Another reason why is because as much as I felt bad for Abby’s father dying, It doesn’t justify killing Joel. She doesn’t even ask him why he did that or anything. She just wants to murdering/torturing him and not care about why he did what he did. I feel like if we got to play as Abby and see her relationship with her dad more or even play as Abby to begin the game, she would have been more likable. I also don’t like how they basically give all of our characters in the first game a awful ending and how they all suffer but Abby gets away with everything she wants in the end. Its like they want you to hate Ellie and everybody except for Abby. The main thing that I hate is how Ellie leaves Dina to hunt down Abby again to which I don’t blame her and to which I was on Ellie’s side but that quickly changed however when Ellie a split second before drowning Abby to death and Abby biting her fingers off lets her go and now comes home to find Dina and the baby are gone, and everyone she knows is either dead or left her. But the main thing that sucks is how Ellie’s only fear of being alone came true. I was SO SO hurt to wait 7 years for them to expend the relationship of Joel and Ellie due to the trailers and all the interviews before the games release and all that I got in my opinion is just some poor writing story about revenge is bad but only for Ellie but its okay for Abby to which I don’t care at all about her and I left the game feeling depressed, upset, and just felt like I was better off never playing it so that way I don’t have to deal with knowing Joel and Ellie’s fate. I also felt like the writers took everything in the first game from the characters to the theme of the game and threw it all out the window and ignored everything that they built. Now this point that i’m bring up here is something that I saw a youtuber give and the point was how Sarah’s death in the first game was just ignored and they made her death pointless because Sarah’s death is what made Joel the person who he was in the first game which was a hard and tough guy on the outside but a father who lost his daughter but got given another chance at that with Ellie to which it sucks to see that. Sucks to say this but I can honestly say that as a fan of the first game since its release in 2013 I no longer care about what happens to any of the characters even Ellie which sucks to say and I'm not excited for part 3 if they ever do it or even the HBO series to which i have no plans on watching again because of bad I was hurt while playing this game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don’t know what to think about this game. The gameplay is comprised of tense stealth segments and brutal shooting and melee combat. The stealth is still as tense and nerve-wracking as it is in the first game and there are minimal changes to combat besides some improved gore, animations and a dodge button.
The guns still feel clunky and hard to aim, the controls still trapped in 2013, whereas the combat feels realistic and as brutal as the developers intended, giving perfect feedback to the weight of the weapons and force of the hits through vibrations in the DualShock controller. Human enemies cry out the names of their fallen companions and the dying cries of the people you mercilessly slaughter make you question why you’re killing them. The gameplay is essentially the same, for better or for worse, with some minor tweaks and improvements. I personally think it works perfectly to create intense action set-pieces (like the car chase or the melee fights with the beefy seraphites) and highly tense stealth segments.

The environments are absolutely stunning, with nature engulfing the urban landscapes even more so than in the first game. The contrast of the grey buildings of Seattle and the green foliage and the harsh sounds of the rushing rivers creates a post-apocalyptic setting unlike any other. The lighting is phenomenal, with rays shining through windows and reflecting off of surfaces in realistic ways. All of this makes for a fantastic world that feels amazing to explore for the game’s 25 hour run time. The story however, feels confused and is riddled with plot-holes and inconsistencies. The story follows Ellie on a revenge plot, after Joel is murdered in front of her by Abby ( another playable character). The first 10 or so hours of the story were enjoyable, well paced and concise including new companion characters who I believe to have depth and be believable. Ellie however, does not respond to situations as she did in the first game. While this could be representative of the grief Ellie feels controlling and twisting her choices and decision making, I feel as though she makes incredibly poor choices that had me sighing or even laughing at times. At what seems to be climax of Ellie’s story, the player is given control of Abby for around 10 hours. This idea seems interesting and nuanced but feels far too long and somewhat frustrating as it cuts off Ellie’s story abruptly. Abby’s story attempts to create guilt in the player, showing that everyone suffers loss and grief in the cruel world of The Last of Us. While this story is rather effective at humanising the antagonist of Ellie’s campaign, showing the reason she killed Joel and her compassion for others, it feels misplaced and ill-paced. Perhaps if it was incorporated earlier or split into smaller gameplay segments it would help the stale flow that the middle part of the story suffers from. The ending of the story is not one I expected, but one I feel is nuanced and unique. It challenges what the player would expect from an ending in a story like this, challenging the morality of every decision Ellie (and the player) has made and how warped her intentions have become due to grief. While many players will feel frustrated or dissatisfied by the ending, I feel as though it provokes an interesting thought process. While the gameplay is perfectly brutal with intense gore and fantastic animations, the story feels muddled, deconstructing characters we loved from the first game and including an overly long segment following characters the player will most probably hate, yet it does have some shining moments of genuinely great story telling and narrative. While it’s certainly not for everyone, I’m sure many people will thoroughly enjoy this game. My recommendation is to play the first game, the left behind dlc and only play the sequel if you adore the gameplay of the first game enough to redeem the clumsy plot.

I was shocked and anxious, I already finished this game and the feeling it leaves me is disappointing, I really do not understand how it was impossible that ellie did not finish what she started and even so she ends up losing absolutely everything ... the only thing I will give thanks for is this phrase from joel to ellie: "if god gave me another chance, I would do it all over again" It was the only thing that apart me from the flashblacks of ellie that I enjoy like never before if you want a story full of nostalgia, unfortunately this is not your game ... The gameplay was pretty much the same as last of us with nothing really fresh and exciting. Then there is the story... playing as a character who kills your favorite character turns the game sour. I found myself hating every moment playing as Ally. Hurting and even killing characters you care about ruins the game. It makes the gameplay terrible. It makes you not want to continue the game. I found myself thinking it would get better but it never did. The game ends and I already feel that I know how the last of us 3 will play out and end. Ally gets to the fireflys and they find out she knows about the immune girl Elle. Now Ally has to travel to find Elle (probably broken and sad) to take her back so a vaccine can be created after her sacrifice. Boom. I just saved you $60 for the trash sequel. Expand

    1. The story is horrible, I found it quite boring and a drag for the majority of the game.

Kudos to you, Laura Bailey. The gameplay is good, as in fun, for the most part. Abby's section is better than Ellie's. The problem is that by the time I got to Abby's part, the repetitive gameplay (mechanics) had gotten a bit tedious. Then there's the main issue I have with the game, the story. The story is absolute trash! For a STORY-BASED game, this clearly ruined the experience for me. Abby, though well-acted, is a TERRIBLY written character. She is unlikeable, and the attempts to get me to like her failed miserably. Another "tell" that the story is bad is the fact that the game is too long. Averaging at 25-30 hours, as opposed to the 15-18 in the first game, you are left feeling drained and completely unsatisfied. I feel my time was completely wasted. I would not recommend buying this game at full price, if at all. To those out there who are still curious about the game, I suggest either viewing a playthrough on youtube OR waiting to buy the game after it's been discounted at GameStop (at least by half). DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS GAME. After my first playthrough, I rated the game 6/10. Now that I've played AND viewed the game a number of times, I can't give it higher than a 5/10. The gameplay had very few improvements over the first game, and that wasn't the most praised aspect of part 1. None of the characters, beyond Joel, are really that likable. This includes Ellie. The story doesn't make sense, especially after learning what Naughty Dog was trying to say. That's all I can say without spoiling anything.....more anyway. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So, I've been a huge fan of The Last of Us. I love Zombie anything & have always been fascinated with the idea of an apocalypse. With that in mind here's my review of the game.

    1. The Game-play: Great mechanics - if you liked the game-play in the last one you'll enjoy it here. BUT, the lack of new things you can do is kind of a bummer. It feels like a version 1.5 rather than a whole new game. It can also feel a bit repetitive, which I felt in the last game and was hoping they would address some of the monotonous parts in this game. Also, sound, music, graphics all great, but that's not what made The Last of Us awesome - I mean it helped for sure, but it was the amazing story that captivated players.

    2. The Story: Ugh, where to start. I'm so torn regarding the story. There are aspects I enjoy and there are others I HATE. I'm trying to keep the spoilers to a minimum. The fact that the game makes you play as the "villain" pisses me off. I don't want to play as "her" I want to shoot "her"

Now, addressing Abby, in another game I would have liked playing as Abby. Maybe in a spin off? But not in this game & not in this setting. Also - the whole transgender thing feels forced. It really doesn't make any sense regarding the story. Transgendered people are what? .01 of the population - the odds of someone surviving a fall out of this size is highly unlikely. What makes more sense is Naughty Dog wanted to be the first at something and decided to force it in there regardless if it made sense or what it would do to their story. Lev on the other hand, I don't feel is as intrusive. He at least kind of makes sense. So its not that I don't 'like' transgender characters, but when it feels forced, and harms the story I just cant get behind it.

Also, I didn't love Ellie in this game as I did in the last. Maybe it was more of a problem with how the story was set up rather than Ellie herself. Regardless, I just didn't jive with her like I did in the last game. And Tommy? It was amazing the fake out they pulled, I thought for sure he was dead. Then to see how he behaves? It seemed out of character for him.

All in all I fall somewhere in the middle. The great parts of the game helped pull up my score some but the bad parts greatly hurt my overall experience.

The main downfall is that in my over 15 years of playing games, I had a very huge disconnect with the character's morals I was controlling (Abby) and I had to literally force myself to play and conclude this game.
The game is great in terms of gameplay, good graphics and a great AI. However, the game falls short on story and its length, which is the only thing this game really has for itself when you consider how linear it is, the lack of DLCs and multiplayer.
The issue with the story for me, is not Joel's death but the obvious lack of direction for Ellie and Joel's characters, it is very obvious the writer and director had very little thoughts on the future of this characters. At the end of the game, Ellie's fingers going off felt too convenient when you think of the guitar and felt more like a deliberate slap on the face for every fan rather than whatever it was meant to convey.
This game was also marketed as an Ellie and Joel game which was completely false. You get to play as Abby for about 50-60% of the game, a character with zero moral compass, and this created a huge disconnect with me controlling the character, I hated the character and I don't know how I saw the game through. The worst part of the game to me, was the conclusion of Seattle day 3 with Abby, you would think that she had a great conscience or change of heart after the 10 hours+ of using her, but then you see that grim smile on the thought of killing a pregnant lady and naughty dog somehow wants me to have some empathy or love for this character. This was a big no, and I honestly felt her part of the game could have been introduced as a DLC, it had very little to the overall story we started in part 1.
On the contrary naughty dog tries to sell Ellie out as a villain or somehow very similar to Abby throughout the game, which didn't connect to me, because Ellie always felt remorseful and never wanted to kill the characters she did in the game, she felt filled with guilt each time she made a kill and this was taking a toll on her. Which was the opposite of Abby, a character filled with joy in doing evil things, a sociopath that the game tried to make us love, from her cheating with Owen to her love for killing Jesse, Tommy and Almost Dina despite knowing she was pregnant. To me this was all I needed to know about the characters.

If you think this story is good or a masterpiece, I completely disagree with you, as the story felt like it was paving the way for new games rather than continuing on its previous game, it felt like an introduction to gangs and zombies, something familiar to walking dead. It's almost like naughty dog has plans for multiplayers, and perhaps new characters/fraction wars in the future and not the great individual story which is the main reason for even playing the game. There are so many zombie games and movies and it is sad the last of us tries to feel like any other rather than set itself apart.
I hope there is no part 3 of this game, because to me this game didn't only serve as a conclusion to Ellie and Joel's story but to the whole franchise.
If I want to watch a zombie or survival movie with vengeance as the theme, there are many movies to watch. Naughty dog has too seriously rethink its future with this franchise moving forward and look at what worked in the first compared to the second.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. english is my second language sorry if i write some of this wrong but i need to get it out of my chest
I think we were disappointed by this game because the build up this fake plot in the trailers and they gave us the wrong expectations. We all knew this game was about Ellie's revenge and we all thought it was because someone was going to kill the girl in the trailer (Dina) then we play it and they kill joel at the start of the game! What made The Last of Us different wasn't the zombies! It was the characters! We loved Ellie's and Joel's dinamic, i liked that they were fighting because of what happened at the end of the first game and it would have been amazing if they tried to solve that problem between them as they get revenge for Dina, it would have been like meeting each other again, making their bond stronger. I think it was such a waste.
Aside from that, once i accepted Joel was dead, i found really interesting the dinamic of showing us two different POVs but the way they put it in the game didn't work, it's like reading harry potter and when harry is about to kill voldemort you realise you have seven more books or movies with voldemort's POV. No one wants that. No one is going to empatize with a character once the heroe has gone through the entire journey.
They should have mixed Abby's and Ellie's stories so it woudn't be so repetitive and we woudn't have to play with Abby for so long.
I really, really liked Abby's character and her story was really good as well but the way they put it in the game didn't work. Having to punch and choke Ellie at the end of Abby's plot is a thing no one wants to do even if we now know Abby's motives and reasons, Ellie is the protagonist!! We don't want to hurt her, even less using the character who killed Joel!!! Then again, using HP reference, it's like 7 new Voldemort's books or movies and maybe you like him a little more o you understand him but then Voldemort goes and kill's Ron or Hermione, all of that is wasted!!!
Ellie being happy with Dina and the baby in the end and then going back to look for Abby...at that point i just gave up. I continued because i needed to see the end but man, that didn't make any sense.
Why not making a fight like the one in the end but in the theatre insted? Instead of using Abby to try to kill Ellie just let us use Ellie, Ellie forgives her because she remembers her talk with Joel and then that's it.
But no. They killed Joel, Abby is now free with her friend and Ellie is all alone and she can't even play the guitar anymore. I know "life isn't perfect" and "not every ending is happy" but the ending stopped being happy the moment they killed Joel, at least Ellie and us deserved an ending like the one in the farm. Ellie, at least, being happy. Joel died for her to live and now she has to live a sad life. Dissapointing.
I gave it five stars because the gameplay, music, graphics and even some parts of the story are amazing but then again the main plot of the game should have been better after of 7 years of waiting for a second part.

I do grasp the concept of "people not always getting what they want" but it has to be "real". it has to be implemented correctly into the world built around the characters and their personalities and backgrounds.

It's a mess. it's a disaster and quite honestly a total disrespect towards the first game and all its fans.
game-play wise it completely has my respect but story wise (which these types of games are thoroughly based on!) it feels like an icy bowl of tomato soup! it's good for ya, but it tastes like ****

but I have to say...I get the fact that throughout history there have been men and women that decided to burn the world and watch it turn to dust just to make a point. Druckman did just THAT...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So, I just beat "The Last of Us Part II..." Where should I start? I feel like, in parts where the game was good, it was excellent! But in parts where the game was bad... It was down right horrible.
The gameplay was fun, I liked a lot of the new mechanics they added, like being able to go prone and the fact that you can be "stealth" in tall grass added a lot more options and the dodge button was a nice touch. I liked... MOST of the new enemies: Shamblers were gross as **** and really fun to fight, Stalkers offered a fresh new type of challenge and they actually jump- scared me once or twice. They did a good job at making the Scars function exactly like the creepy cult that they are: Their whistling gave me shivers every time I heard it. The skill trees were cool and gave a lot of fun options to improve your character. One thing I DID NOT like, was the addition of dogs... They make it VERY hard to avoid the dogs and I did NOT enjoy killing any of the cute doggo's in this game. Over all, gameplay wise, "The Last of Us II" was very satisfying.

And now... The story...... Good LORD, what a mess! The story of "The Last of Us Part II" is full of plot holes, contrivances and conveniences and does not feel like a continuation of the events of the first game. Rather, it teeters on the threshold of being some “edgy” kids DeviantArt fan-fiction. I would say the biggest issues with the story are it's beginning and it's end. The beginning of the game has Joel, acting completely out of character and is way too trusting of these random strangers he JUST met, which ends up getting him killed (in a **** way). I hear a lot of people saying that the reason Joel is so trusting is because he has been living comfortably in Jackson for 5 years... I don't buy this: Living comfortably for 5 years doesn't make you stupid, the story just needed Joel to die (in a **** way) to get the horrible revenge story going.

The middle of the game’s story is kind of all over the place: You play as Ellie for a bit, then the game forces you to play as Abby, Joel’s killer, in an attempt to make her seem likeable, which doesn’t work, at least, it didn’t work with me. I found Abby to be very unlikable. In fact, a lot of the new characters in this game feel unlikable which made their deaths hollow. When Jesse died, all I could think was “Oh no, not… Whats-His-Face.”

And the ending is just… Baffling to me. Ellie and Abby have a brutal fight which during the middle of, Abby bites 2 of Ellies fingers off. Ellie’s goal of revenge against Abby is only a few seconds away……… And she just let’s Abby go. Mind you, a flashback of Joel playing the guitar (Which he was teaching Ellie to play and can no longer do because he is dead and she just lost fingers) is what makes her decide to let Abby go. This woman first took your father figure away from you, she then took friends away from you and finally she took 2 of your fingers away from you. Ellie… Girl…… Having a flashback of your father figure playing a guitar after the person you’re trying to kill bites off your fingers should have thrown you into a fit of rage! But no, she’s all like: “Just go.” And that’s it. All this does, is give Abby another opportunity to come back for you. I can’t sugarcoat it, this game fails from a story perspective, which is a shame, considering the fact that it’s a narrative driven game.

I would give the game a 5: "The Last of Us Part II" is fun to play, but the overall narrative pulls the game way down. My fear is that, if they add a DLC chapter like they did in the first game, it’s going to be about Abby killing Tommy or something. I think the only way they can fix the story from here, is for Ellie to wake up from all of this being a bad dream…

wonder what happened to the writers to deliver such a downgrade, is really bad, if it wasn{t for such a terrible writing it could be a real 10, but the story is such a nonsense, people are just blind by visuals and music, the only reason I give it a 5 is for the amazing work of artists and gameplay team

It wasn’t easy to come to terms with the events that took place during this game. I played most of the game angrily but in the end the story took me trough all the paces it meant to take me trough. Everything clicked in the end and I realized that I was having the same emotional conflict as the characters. It was fantastic experience and extremely emotional. Loved it!

I loved last of us 1 and replayed it to death like many other games such as The Witcher 3, and Zero Horizon Dawn to name a few. They ticked all the boxes in terms of delivering a fantastic experience and product. It saddens me to see what has come of Part 2 and thats a problem of it self. If this was a stand alone game it could of atleast been a 'meh' to an 'alright' game but because it had such 'big shoes' and expectations to fill it simply failed.
As i'm writing this im listing up the game for sale. Something i havent done in 15 years and that it self says alot coming from someone who keeps onto games on the off chance of replaying the game, but i know for certainty I wont be playing this one ever again.
As a gamer I seek entertainment and escapism to relax and unwind and pretty much boost my 'happiness meter' but this game left such a bad taste in my mouth and feeling miserable. Especially when you take into consideration that I paid for this and paid full price. Its sorrowful to think of all of the employees time, effort and sweat that went into this (especially remembering that 70% of staff left due to being crunched) for it to be...like this.

Graphics, Audio and Gameplay are all superb as is the voice-acting which is brilliantly tied into the facial expressions and emotions of the characters themselves making them very realistic. A special mention for the groundbreaking accessibility options that allow this game to be enjoyed by a much wider audience. My hat goes off to Naughty Dog for this. Unfortunately, that’s it for the good things about this game.

LOTU I was a masterpiece because the story centred on the evolving relationship between Joel and Ellie who, in turn, both grew in our affections. We waited 7 years to continue the story with those characters who were close to our heart, then what happens? Not only does Joel get brutally murdered so early on but we are forced to play as his killer for half the game. Any attempt by ND to try and get us to empathise with Abby just fails miserably at this point and the motivation to continue playing the game just drops drastically. The final insult is the highly unsatisfactory ending to, what is overall, a very grim and depressing story which I have no desire to play through again.

In short, the game had everything we wanted but the story.

The few additions, the jump button and the dodging mechanic honestly just serve to make the combat and exploration feel a tad wonky, but they're harmless. Everyone's already bashed this story and characters and I hold many similar reservations. And no, I am not homophobic or transphobic. Last of Us 1 had one of the main characters revealed to be a lesbian, and I took no issue with that. Because the first game cared more about story than gender politics and psuedowoke bs. I don't play games to be preached at, I play for entertainment and to escape the crappy reality of real life. This game fails at that so hard that it shouldn't have even exist. That said, I do NOT condone the fans of the first game sending slurs and death threats to the people involved in this game. Druckman is the person responsible for this awful story, and does deserve to be highly crotized, but not threatened. This game is poor. It has some very beautiful graphics, and is fun to play. Everything can happen. So I was ready for this and don't get sad about it.
The negatives is for this LGBTQ things I really don't get and Ellie was immune at least she could be get pregnant and give a birth new immune kids. But she chooses be a lesbian. And all main charactersare womens I mean it is funny. At least it coul6be equal. For female main characters we have many games like horizon zero dawn or tomb raider. why ruin TLOU with this feminist things. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After the success of the original game series the developers and writers championed story telling over player choice and interactivity. This was a bold choice that enabled the studio to tell the in depth and captivating story they wanted to tell, to great critical and user acclaim. The linear story of TLOU was heavily praised for the risks that it took and the manner in which it drew the audience in and captivated them.

This brings use to Part II where the studio sought to build on the success of the first game and the add on story to further push the boundaries and subvert the expectations of the audience. However, after heaping so much praise for the development of the characters it was always going to be controversial to kill off the protagonist from the first game. Let alone do it in such a brutal and gut wrenching fashion while undermining some of the well established character. This was bold and risky and as the old adage goes, "if you live by the sword you die by the sword".

I truly believe that if they had told the story in a different fashion and had you play as Abby first and kept her objective partly cloaked. Then had her storyline end with the death of Joel you would have had a much better chance of the audience understanding the plight of the character. Starting off as having Abby kill Joel was always going to be a tough hill to climb to redeem her in the eyes of the player base. First impressions matter and unfortunately the story did not do enough to win the audience back to make Abby a likable character.

Opening up a dialogue regarding the morality of killing people in this post apocalyptic world is profound, however it is somewhat undermined by then murdering a lot of NPCs for the majority of the game. Do these characters and their back stories somehow not matter? You can't have it both ways and not be very hypocritical. Abby's father from TLOU was in no way a clear cut "good guy" and yet his death was not treated as an overly "special" event, what is to say that any of the numerous people that you kill as Abby or Ellie in Part II wont have avenging families in the next game? The futility of revenge is a key part of the morality message in the game, however it just doesn't quite stick the landing. It's the "press X to grieve" syndrome where by the game wants us to care about people's deaths when it suits them.

The game is beautiful and well designed with some real care and attention put into the upgrading animations and graphics. They also added jump.

Despite the beautiful game design the series has always been championed by its story and game mechanics and forcing you to play a linear storyline can work very well to immerse a player. However, when it doesn't work and you are forcing a player to be a character and undertake actions that you do not believe in it is jarring and un-enjoyable.
If you wish your game to be judged on its story and cinematic experience and also want to take risks that you know will shock and confront the audience. Then be prepared that the audience may sharply pull in the other direction.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a person who loves the naughty dog studio ever since uncharted 2 came out. Then have been waiting for every game they release and finishing all the uncharted games multiple times. Then playing the last of us while blindingly trusting that the story is gonna be really good based on the other games, it got even more impressed when i finished it, i was in love with the story and the relationship between Ellie and Joel. I finished the game over 5 times and i couldn't explain the amount of excitement i had for Part 2. Having finished the second gamed, i am terribly disappointed with how the story went. I had no problem with killing of main characters in any project as long it has a meaning to it and is done properly not just for shock value. But killing of the main protagonist in the first hour of the game not only decreases the amount of interest i had for the rest of the story, but also making me feel like the character that i grow up loving feel like such a side character for the way he was killed of. Joel in the first game was known to be such a bad ass character that was careful with every move he make in this post-apocalyptic world which made us look to him as not only a father figure but as a more bad ass john wick. So making him die like that did give his arc in the game justice. I was okay with the rest of the story until the point they make you play as Abby. whatever her reason was for killing Joel i would've never liked her or emphasized with her having killed my favourite character in the beginning of the game. But what makes it more stupid is that they make her father a random nbc from the first game that you could've literally killed in various ways.
forcing me to liking her by making the player go through a really uninteresting story involving two kids is just gonna make me hate the story even more.
As for the ending i don't have a problem with having Ellie living a happy life in a family and leaving Abby alone. But making Ellie go through all of this just to spare her life at the last second was just stupid and was just stretching the story. Making Ellie kill all those characters just to spare the one responsible for Joel's death is just really stupid. The only thing that makes this game playable is the great graphics and the nearly perfect gameplay and clever scenarios where you feel really challenged as a player.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really wanted to love this game and It gets off to a strong start. Having us play as Ellie is a natural progression and I liked seeing where she and Joel had ended up. Joel's death was sudden and brutal and could have been a fantastic plot hook for the rest of the game, unfortunately the rest of the game doesn't do him justice.

The Ellie half of the story is competent but nothing special. The flashbacks with her and Joel proved that they could have made a fantastic game and were highlights of the entire story. I'm not gonna spoil this part of the game because i genuinely believe its worth playing. So after Murdering half a city, the Ellie crew are forced to make a hard decision and give up the hunt for Abby (the person who killed Joel). Then the gods of story exposition have her show up in a cut scene where she murders one of the only likable new characters and holds you at gunpoint.

    Then it cuts to black.

This is where things go very wrong as you are forced to play though many hours as Abby in a poor attempt to make you feel sorry for her. The story had me hooked enough and the gameplay was good enough that i was willing to suffer though the boring tripe that was the Abby half of the game. It was like a teenage love drama and the only bright side was that i knew most of the cast would be dead soon. I'm not sure if i can remember a single one of their names so clearly they were well written and fully developed characters.

At some point she meets a child who happens to also be a transsexual because the gods of story exposition were feeling extremely heavy handed that day. I was then forced into another couple of hours of that weren't even related to the main plot. I wasn't sure it was possible, but the new characters were even less interesting than the teenage drama crew.

As far as the political stuff is concerned, its nowhere near as bad as some of the review bombers would have you believe. Although i admit It can be a little preachy at times its usually just sat quietly in the background. I do have to agree with the people that think the whole concept of a trans woman going though all the necessary procedures to transition in a time where most people are making shivs out of broken pairs of scissors is completely ridiculous. I could keep talking about the political stuff but whats the point? Its boring, its been done to death and video games are meant to be fun.

So we finally are back though the Abby half of the story and it gets resolved by having us beat the crap outta Ellie for killing the Teen drama crew and then letting her go... My score keeps going down as I write this. We go through all that to have it resolved in a 3 minute fist fight. Apparently Abby didn't learn that letting the Ellie (The literal angel of death that has murdered half of Seattle) live will get all your friends murdered.

The last bit of this review is going to be as token as the last bit of the game. You play as Ellie again. She gets PTSD, leaves her wonderful peaceful life with her wife and child to travel to California to go kill Abby (again). You then play as Abby and get to watch her get punched in the face by a burly man. You then play as Ellie, murder some biker dudes, rescue some slaves and finally catch up to Abby. Then you have a fight in the sea and let her go. After abandoning your whole life (twice) and murdering most of the people in two cities.

Gameplay 9/10 - It takes elements that worked in the first game and makes them work better.

Visuals 10/10 - Stunning, i could almost smell the fungus and regret.

Story 3/10 - Play the first half and then go and act out your own ending with sock puppets. it'll probably be more fulfilling and wont take up 15 hours (unless you want it to).

This review 6/10 - I wrote it at 3AM and I still think I did a better job than TLOU P2 writers.

But after finishing it, I honestly wonder how this game got such high scores everywhere. Obviously there is good things : the sound-design is very good, there are good atmospheres. The level-design is pretty good, and the gameplay, although a bit dated, does the job. The bestiary is also more varied. But, in my opinion, the story had no place to be, especially in view of the ending (but this point is quite subjective). Then, the rhythm of the game is atrocious, we are swung from flash back to flash back and we find ourselves frolicking for hours without anything happening. Many scenes were really unnecessary, even to just "make it truer". The craft system has not been improved and good ideas from the 1 have been removed (the knives limited to kill the infected). I really struggled to get to the end of the game since we are forced to follow someone uninteresting for hours and what's more, we do absolutely everything to make us love this person, it becomes ridiculous. To finish, the end of the game is risky but ineffective. The moral of the story has been seen and reviewed, and I find that in addition to that, it was not executed with flying colors, it is even the opposite. Too bad, TLOU2 had potential, despite positive it absolutely does not deserve so much high scores and it is by no means a masterpiece. The press should wake up and stop scoring games perfectly with so many negative points. Free to everyone called a masterpiece what he likes, but you have to be a minimum objective in the tests and stop distributing the perfect score to everything. Expand

Graphically is a great game, it's a miracle that a PS4 can run this. With that said, that's the only outperforming part of the game.

Let's go to the music area now. The music is not memorable at all, there is no one single song that I will remember years from now (today I can still hear the music of the first part in my mind).

The gameplay is good, there is pretty little innovation, but it works. Sometimes it is boring, especially if you encounter a group of scars or wolves, which in the middle of the game you will like: "Oh, god, here go again with this crap".

Puzzles? This game doesn't know what that is. I'll tell you the way it works: "Oh, the door is closed, what a surprise. Is there a container I can use for climbing? No. Okay, I guess I'll go through this whole in the building instead" (literally those two are the 90% of the options you have when a door is closed).

Narrative. There is no one single character here that deserves to be remembered (aside from the ones of the previous game and maybe Lev, that chinese boy who was a scar). There are lots of plot holes, lots of them. The death of Joel is absolutely stupid, I didn't catch any love for Abby, literally zero, even though the narrative makes a tremendous effort for the player to catch it, but it's just badly written and executed.

Definetly, would have been better for the saga if this game was never realeased.
