Graphics and animations are some of the best I've seen. Did not agree with the story much. I would change the order of major events, and found that there were many characters that I did not care about and did not even remember the name of because of a lack of meaningful character development. Some characters I tried desperately to like (despite their controversial actions) ended up being very uninteresting and I found myself having to force myself to continue the game. I also found some major characters to be completely unlikable, yet the developers attempt to make us care and sympathize with them through very cheap tactics (namely forcing us to commit horrid acts to justify another characters actions). Older characters stray away from their established values and skills, with completely out-of-character actions with little to no logical explanation. Story is a very cliché "the cycle of revenge is bad" plot and seems to make the player do terrible things simply to be edgy and create "shock value". The fact that much of the player base literally does not want to continue playing because they have to play as a certain character tells you enough about how unlikable some of the characters are. And no, successfully eliciting certain emotions from the player does not mean the story is good, it is because the first game's characters were so well developed that people are emotional as to what happens to them in a sequel. The story also feels dragged on almost double to how long it should have been, and I found myself completely losing motivation to continue playing. A story that subverts expectations isn't necessarily good. There is a good way to do it and a bad way to do it, and because the writers seem to only do this for shock value, I think this game does not execute this aspect well. Although I can appreciate many aspects of the game, such as graphics, animations, accessibility options, AI, sound design, level design, and voice actors, I overall cannot recommend this game because the story is such a pivotal component of something like The Last of Us, and it seems to be an extreme letdown compared to the first game. You can't help but think the creators wanted to force every agenda in the past decade into a game. You betcha they would of loved to have included the BLM movement in there somehow.

Poor dialogue, poor storytelling, characters from the first behave differently in second.

I now know why people are so disappointed.

It had a simple story but was executed brilliantly, I became attached to Joel and Ellie, and their father-daughter relationship.

I know some people enjoyed the game and I'm happy for them, but I don't like them.
    Pros:
    - Animation
    - Voice acting
    - Soundtrack
    - Graphics (by far the best on the ps4)

    Cons:
    - Story
    - Plot holes
    - Characters
    - Useless jump ability

There is so much plot armour in this, that it's ridiculous. I somewhat enjoyed the first half of the game but after Joel's death, you play as Abby for almost 10 hours. Then they use cheap tactics like playing with dogs to show you how much of a 'nice' person Abby. So Abby gets revenge, it's good but Ellie wants to get revenge, it's bad. You kill a lot of people who aren't responsible for Joel's death but let free the one person who is? wtf. I gave this game the benefit of the doubt but god this game is bad. I don't recommend this game, spend your 30 hours on another game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game could've been so much more, it had so much potential and unfortunately just missed the mark.

The visuals of the game, graphics, world building, the tiny stupid little details that make all the difference are absolutely on point, the new variations and behaviours of the infected is intense, the stalkers in the school and the rat king were some of the most intense game play moments I've had in a long time, the seraphites had such an interesting and different aura surrounding then with all the whistles as they hunt you. All of this, was absolutely fantastic, and were worth waiting for. And the fact the game released perfectly polished seems to be a rare gem in this day and age.

Unfortunately though, the story itself leaves alot to be desired, the way the game was advertised was that we would get another game with us following our favourite father/daughter duo take on the world, and that wasn't the case, disappointing yes but not a deal breaker, losing Joel, I could've been alot more ok with that if it was done the right way, it just seems to have been done for shock value, and the whole game seemed to be, Ellie bad, Abby gooood, even down to the smallest things, Ellie kills dogs (ND said we wouldn't have to which was **** ), Abby plays with dogs, specifically the one Ellie kills you have no choice at all but to kill thanks to the quick time event. But I digress. Just to get this out of the way, I have no problem at all with the LGBTQ+ characters, I had no problem with Ellie finding herself in the first games dlc, so why would I be negative about it now, Abby being an absolute unit is not a bad thing, she's a soldier, so yeah she works out, alot so she can be fit and fight, and it also gives her an outlet, cool, it doesn't make me feel anything negative, Lev being trans is not a bad thing he was also an interesting character, bit the ones who base Thier opinions on this stuff bing negative are just dicks, end of.

I think realistically, I would've preferred not to play as Abby in the main game, as a dlc absolutely, I think that could've worked but have it from where the first game ends, where father dies and follow her through her transformation, with her journey to Washington etc.

Not sure what else to say really, I loved the game play, how it looked, ND are fantastic at that stuff, unfortunately the story was just poorly written, and expected even worse. I expected more, we deserved more.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. "See, there was a sequel. Wasn't as good." Like many of my peers, I was excited about the TLOU2. Then ND's crunch horror stories emerged. Then the leak happened. Then I rented the game. Then my desire to finish became quite the struggle. I have no idea why reviewers are giving such glowing reviews to TLOU2 when there are such glaring issues to behold.

Of course the graphics are 10 out of 10 quality. It's a given. ND did an amazing job. Even the most hardcore of PC only gamers have to admit TLOU2 looks amazing. Sound quality is amazing as well. The clickers, infected, voice acting, environments, gunfire, and animals sound incredible and clear. Again, ND excels at this. But that's where the greatness of TLOU2 ends.

Gameplay is painfully average with no fleshed out additions. You sneak, you scavenge, you shoot, you craft. That's it. Its gameplay feels more like TLOU1.5 rather than it having any meaningful improvements. They have a jump button now. So what? The way characters' jump is both humorously parody and unrealistic. I can upgrade and improve my weapons like I can in a dozen other games (eg: Rise of the Tomb Raider, The Division 2, Far Cry 4). Dodging is a welcome addition, but when your AI partners don't aid you (and further break immersion when enemies should blatantly see them while you're stealthing) it becomes a mixed bag of reliability. What fundamental changes have been done to help garner perfect review scores?

Oh, it has to be the story. The lazily written, poorly formed story. Does giving veteran characters utter stupidity and naivety that they didn't have before pass for perfection? What about that really early death that felt undeserved and had zero context? Or how about playing ten hours through a game with one character only to play another character whom a lot of us don't care about for an additional similar length of time? How about shoving down our throats how wonderful this new character is and that we should care about her? What about completely destroying a character people do care about to repeat a common trope in pop culture that "revenge is bad, m'kay"?

Yes, the story sucked. Tied together with coincidence and irrational character moments, TLOU2 seems to go out of its way to emulate The Walking Dead television series. When the first game had such strong writing and characters, the sequel is a shadow of TLOU. To add further insult to injury, the marketing from this game was manipulative. Changing character models, making it seem like Joel was with Ellie in Seattle, and claiming that Ellie is the only playable character in the game makes this experience worse.

To ND leadership I say shame on you. Not only for misleading gamers with your ads and comments, but for your despicable crunch practices. Your developers deserve better. They work too damn hard for that kind of treatment. Gamers deserve better. What we PlayStation owners have enjoyed from exclusives are single-player games set in amazing worlds filled with rich lore and fleshed out characters. That includes Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us.

TLOU2 is one of the most disappointing and underwhelming games I've played in this console generation. This is not the way to help bookend the PS4. Here's hoping that Ghost of Tsushima will prove to be a better game worth your time and money.

    Negatives

» Less diverse gameplay which makes the experience very repetitive and downright boring after the first 15 hours of the game.

    » Absolutely terrible character development:
    - characters seem to take completely irrational decisions all the time for the sake of creating a story and nothing else;
    - characters are deprived from any emotion at all in all circumstances, which is a stark contrast to the first game. Not only that but characters that were part of the original TLOU have seemingly lost their whole personality and values, replacing them with one single goal of getting the petty and useless revenge that fuels the storyline;

    » Equally bad story:
    - it is filled with plot holes;
    - it has an incomprehensible ending, given the plot of the game before it;
    - it attempts to make the player rethink about the events of the first game with a new and negative vision but in a way that is seemingly guilt tripping the player itself for even playing said game and downright trying to decrease our enjoyment of the same title, for no apparent reason. It also adds nothing in return, making the player wish they had never played this sequel.
    - While trying to do what is mentioned in the above point, it introduces new characters but the timing for that is way off. For instance, 15 hours into the game, Naughty Dog makes you play as the very antagonists of the first part of this title, while also trying to make you emphasise with them. This falls flat, as it is near impossible to show empathy for this character after several occurrences throughout the story. Moreover, this part of the game is 10 hours long, feels completely expendable to the main storyline and makes you wish you weren't playing at all;
    - At all times, the story unravels with seemingly no end point other than making the player itself miserable, while hinting the responsibility of all the cruelty of that chaotic game to the player himself.

    Positives

» On the bright side, it has the best visual effects you will find on PS4 - absolutely stunning.
» It is also filled with lots of tiny and somewhat fun details, that are a welcome addition to this otherwise completely cruel world, and reflect the attention that was given to this game.

However, all things considered, this game is disappointing. It captures the gameplay of the original but no element of that game's story is expanded upon, nor taken as inspiration.
It doesn't feel like an actual sequel, while simultaneously ruining the magnificent open ending of the first TLOU, the characters we had learnt to love and our overall enjoyment of that first title.

    Do not recommend.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm about 15 hours into the game and the gameplay is GREAT, but the story seems a bit forced.... It's very unbelievable that Tommy (a bad ass ex firefly and Hitman that killed thousands of infected and militia) and Joel ("the madman" that killed thousands of people with ease and lived over 30 years in the apocalypse without much trouble) gets themselves killed from a handful of Wolf's... And alongside that, ellie had more than enough time to pull the trigger after opening the door. This all seems like it's forced upon the player to just accept it because it is what it is... And they wanted a revenge story that's not fitting to the story what so ever. I love the gameplay, I like the new characters, I don't mind the romance, buuuuuut it could have all happened with Joel.... The story just seems rushed, which is strange, because they had more than enough time to create one fitting to the first part. Call it a theory, but I would bet money on it that they had a different story and mid development they had/wanted to change it. I will continue to enjoy the game, but Mr. Niel should respect the fans that aren't gay bashing the game and accept our honest opinions! Expand

Please don't read if you haven't finished the game yet. SPOILERS BEGIN here on-wards.
    ---------------
I will write and tell my side of observation divided between different areas of the game, here goes:

    1. Gameplay:
The best physics I have seen in any game. The jumping was a little off, many of the times the blocks that were supposed to be climbed - looked like something to be climbed on.
Sprinting and crouching are some of the best in game business.
    2. Action
The gore in the game. OMG!!! The best. Tarantino, and South Korean blood splatters. The great b-grade cinematic when it comes to actions.
    3. Characters from Part I
Grown to become very mellow, you can feel their exhaustion. Love Tommy being the brave brother he is, a great supporting actor and the sniper he showers on Abby and Manny. Best boss fight.

    4. New Character
I am not sure if the writers did this intentionally or they were over confident with their skill, or thought of consumers stupid.

    5. Plot
Game of Thrones season 8! nothing more. What we loved about the previous part was the subtlety and consequential things happening to main character caused by a chain of other small incidents. Part II on other hand just throws in scenarios out of blue. Kills supporting character in a seconds to put some shock value, but I personally couldn't feel much for the character, no guilt or regret. The death of Sam and Henry in part 1 moved most of us. It was instant, yes. But it effected us.

Whereas, in Part II they make Jesse a likable character, Manny, a badass, and Mel a sweet fighter. But none of their death makes the player feel anything.

And my god The end. ooofff.... So much fight, struggle, pain and hate. for what? Na da! naught! You have no choice in either kill or let her go. If they let user decide this small part, like RDR 2 did with main character in the final chapter.. Things and ratings would have been very different.

I love the fights, the action, the mechanics. and as an IT person myself, the game mechanic are magnificent. But they fall prey to the GOT-8ish plot line.

    6. Acting
Loved every single scene joel was available in, Troy baker did great job with the voice of Joel miller. You can't help but still love Joel and Ellie's flaws and perfections. And my god Joel still a badass till the last breath he takes.

I think Naughty Dog spent too much time “empowering everyone” that they lost sight of that was important. This game stopped being The Last of Us halfway when the player is forced to play as Abby. No matter how much they tried I never cared for her story especially because of the plot structure. There are dozens of ways they could have made this a more compelling game but instead we got an absolute mess of a plot that has no meaning at all until the very end. I didn’t find the game terribly woke but the story itself is the major problem and ruined my memory of the franchise forever. Please don’t make another one. That plea extends to the HBO show too. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gameplaywise and all the other stuff (cinematics, animations, acting etc.) this game did everything better than part I. Practically perfect. Though I got to say that I had wished for weapon melee animations. Going from adsing to meleeing is far from fluid but that's a bit nitpicky.

What breaks this game for me are the characters and the story told. The story in and of itself is fine. As a standalone game I would've given it a 7 probably. The message of "revenge is bad" has been done a million times before and wasn't standing out too much from others imho, so definitely not a 10.

What makes this a 5 in my eyes then? Apart from weird and uncharacteristic character behaviour at parts and subpar pacing - it's the whole premiss and tone. It's the expectation I and many others had going into this story (I played through the game spoilerfree, currently on seattle day 1 of my 2nd playthrough - just wanted to throw that out before I forget). While TLOU1 had many heartwarming moments in a depressing world, showing the light of Joel's and Ellie's relationship in an endless sea of darkness, TLOU2 didn't offer such moments. At the end the game was 24h of pure depression and 1 hours of the beautiful museum flashback. People that were hoping to explore the relationship of Joel and Ellie were left hanging. Waiting 7 years for your favourite character to disappear right at the start of the story is a real mood killer. Telling the story through flashbacks and the eyes of the villain was a great idea but in my eyes poorly executed. For me personally it never clicked. The second I got to play as Abby, there was always this one though lingering in my mind: "You killed Joel, I don't care anymore." And making us play as and get to know Abby AFTERWARDS always felt forced. You knew right away what the intention of that bit was. Yes, people have different perspectices and in her mind she was justified. But making me like an unlikeable character when it was clear that I was just playing this whole 10 hour bit for this idea alone - to make me like her, to make me understand her. It just did not work out. I would've been much more sympathetic if I had got to know Abby beforehand. If I did not think of her action at the start of the game as IRREDEEMABLE!

My play through took me three weeks to get through because I am an adult with a job and a family, this game had potential to be absolutely Game of the year but lost it due to bad narrative and lack of open world. In 2020 to release a game that feels like its on rails is shocking. Gameplay was especially the same with a jump button. After digging deeper into why everyone has a problem with this game I find its not the game but the developer and Sony’s reaction to people who don’t agree with the treatment of beloved characters. I get that everyone has a different scale of where they see things as a number value. It’s just an ok game, not even close to GOTY. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Would’ve given a 10/10 rating for gameplay and graphics. Drops to a 5 because of poor story, and the fact that you’re forced to play as Abby half the game. To me that entire branch felt more of a useless side-quest, as she abandons all her friends and allies for two enemies that saved her. Where my hate really started kicking in was when you HAD to fight Ellie as Abby. To me, Ellie is the main character, and having to fight her and almost kill her with no other options killed all the remaining interest in the game. Expand

To be honest, I'm not surprised that this game took Joel. After all, in the first part they took his daughter, and then himself. Of course, it’s a pity that this all happened.
Do you need a continuation of this game? I think that yes, because this is clearly not the end of the game as a whole. Because most people are interested in what Ally will do next.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Everything about this game except for the story is great. There's plot holes everywhere. The first plot hole comes from abby getting pinned down by zombies between a fence and a wall being they are zombies any chance to grab her they would have taken yet none of the zombies really grabbed for her.
2 Tommy taking stupid pills and giving up their names like he doesn't know people could be after joel for killing all those fireflies that probably had families.
3 I can't actually say how many contrived plot armor points there are for abby.
We could have just waited to kill joel in till half way through the story and that would've been better. They could've had abby and ellie work together for a little bit and make the character more likeable. But no the choose to kill off joel a fan favorite by the hands of a brand new character. The way she did it made me not want to play the rest of the game.

2.I feel it was interesting to understand Abbies back story and reflect on Joel’s actions but over 10 hours of playing as Abby, why ,we wanted Ellie or Joel for it all.Not someone we don’t even know. Also we didn’t need that s## scene we know it’s a 18 but we didn’t want that.

3.There are videos online of Neil Druckmann saying you don’t have to kill dogs, that was a lie also the backlash he is doing saying we are homophobic or trans-phobic just for not liking the game. Stop being one of these teen girls believing you can end racism with just posting a black feed on Instagram. 4. Laura Bailey was the voice actor of Abby just because we hate her does not mean the voice actor should get death threats. We are better than this people.

tl;dr: the visuals, accessibility, and artistic designs are the only thing holding up this game from it’s disappointing storyline, poor story development, lack of interesting characters, and many missed opportunities to explore intriguing lore just so you can be forced into a new and unwanted perspective from one of the most uninteresting characters in gaming.

Для нас The last of us - это история Джоэла и Элли! Expand

I absolutely loved the first TLoU game and have played it 7-8 times over the past few years.

Really had such high hopes for this game, but of all the stories that COULD have been told, this was not the one to present to us. This game would be ranking a solid 9-10 overall if the narrative was a continuation in some way of Joel and Ellie's story. For example, maybe Ellie gets a second chance to be the saviour of mankind and Joel has to help her and redeem himself. Maybe Tommy and Dina get kidnapped and Joel and Ellie have to save them. Heck, ANYTHING else would have been better than this shallow, hot mess of a story.

When first introduced to the Abby character, all I could think about was how beefy she looked. Seriously, why did she have to look so masculine? As a female gamer who has been playing since 1988, I could hardly bear to look at her physically. All I could think was that she looked like an East German steroid-taking discus thrower from the old days. Those meaty arms and flat chest of hers were really unpleasant to look at for 10+ hours. I enjoy playing female characters such as Lara Croft and Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn), who can be absolutely bad-ass without looking like they want to arm wrestle you into the ground.

Whilst there were definitely a number of shining spots in both narratives, a lot of the Abby story felt like a total slog to get through. And seriously, how many boring, long cut scenes do you think we can watch of Abby, especially when nobody cares??? Honestly, it felt like torture and I just wanted to be done with her side of the story. In fact, I've never wanted to put down a controller more than during this game and was thrilled that I could turn on "Invisible When Prone" in the accessibility menu so that I could get through the Abby section faster.

Also, for me, this game has no replay value. I have absolutely zero desire to sit through the whole thing again, which is in total contrast to the first game where I played through again almost immediately after finishing it.

So, definitely not up to the standard expected in terms of story and for sure I will never pre-order and pay full price for another Naughty Dog game again.

Lastly, WTF was with that thing in the hospital basement??? That just annoyed the heck out of me, even with turning the difficulty right down. I think that was put in there just to irritate everyone even more.

The graphics are unreal, the animation work and AI is often next level, but the most important area, the characters and story is where things fall so short. Where as in the first game every character genuinely felt like they had purpose and an individual arc which added to overall arc between Ellie & Joel, the characters in Part II didn’t connect & were often forgetful. The events that take place and actions taken by the characters also felt painfully contrived and awkward with none of the payoff the first game gave. By the later parts of the game I just wanted it to be over as it kept dragging on to its unsatisfying end. I’ve heard others say that it’s subverting your expectations and wants to express nihilism, but it all just comes off as incompetent writing. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

I think if everything in this game stayed the same , but they rearranged the scenes so not half the game was flashbacks , it would be better. I'm obviously upset they killed joel...especially in the first hour of the game,. When it happened, I stopped playing for a couple days. Anyways .if your going to kill off the favorite character in a terrible, dark, way..we shouldn't have to play as the killer for 10+ hours, and on top of it...not even get our revenge at the end of the game because Abby lives. Very sad to see how this game turned out .seeing the joel and ellie flashback missions really showed the games potential. Still try to think positive because #1 is my favorite game of all time..but its hard to after #2. Anyways giving it 5/10 because its not a unplayable game...just dissapointed Expand

Pretty much a tale of two halves, the first half with Ellie is near perfect, one of my favorite stories I've played, but from beginning as Abby through the rest of the game the story is so all over the place and lazily written, it makes little to no sense. What they told to us before release? - vertical gameplay, a lot of variations to going through level. And what we see? Only one location in a Seattle at the beginning and all time after it’s a line gameplay again in 2020!
Also of course the story: kill the main character at the beginning of the game and try to explain it by the gaming for some boring and empty inside character ( Abby) It’s just a little part of my disappointing in this game and I hope third part won’t be ever development with this leader of studio.

Tlou 2 was mediocre at best. Gameplay was same fun gameplay tlou 1 had. Story was mediocre revenge story we've all seen before. Nothing new there. Abby sucked ass. Pure trash character. Absolutely worst part of the game was that naughty dog forced me to play that steroid **** I never expected this to be as good as tlou1 but come on, this game was just bad compared to the first.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I bought the original 'story driven' game The Last of Us, when it first came out on PS3, and absolutely loved it, playing it over and over again. So much so, I bought it again for PS4. I loved all the main story characters, Tess, Marlene, Bill, Tommy, Maria, Sam, Henry, all interesting, diverse, strong characters, but the dynamic of Joel and Ellie's relationship, their backgrounds, their personalities and the close bond they had at the end of the story just blew me away.

I watched the E3 trailer, and every one that came after, looking forward to another fantastic story with these two characters, and was sadly disappointed.

I'm giving this game a 5/10, because I buy video games for the same reason I buy books, to escape from a world that never let's you catch a breath, before pushing other people's ideals and agendas at you, and that is exactly what this game does. I've read articles defending the developer/director, stating that this is art and an artist has the right to make what they choose to make, I disagree, it isn't just art, there are certainly elements, but nobody would buy a piece of art, without seeing it first and ND denied us access to this with embargos, strikes, false advertising, lies and dishonesty and worse than all of that a complete disrespect toward the gamers who bought and loved the first game.

What's good (for me personally) : Gameplay engaging in stealth areas, new infected enemies genuinely creepy, great graphics, flashbacks with Joel and Ellie, new characters Jesse and Dina.. Oh and Manny's death, that's for the spitting.

What's bad (where to start) : Messy time lines, too many glitches, bad characters Mel, Owen, Abby, Manny, Lev and sister (can't remember her name), all with no character/complexity, all one dimensional. Seriously unsubtle agenda pushing (we have brains ND), character assassinations from previous game, backtracking on established lore from previous GAME (because it doesn't suit your AGENDA) Some bad voice acting, plot holes galore ( this was in the 1st game too, YOU CAN'T HAVE A VACCINE FOR A DISEASE CAUSED BY A FUNGUS!!! The dogs are irritating (attack dogs are not cute, yes I killed them because they're not real, besides I'm a cat person). Abby wouldn't exist at that size in a post apocalyptic world, the surgeon at the end of the first game was old, Abby's dad appears to be in his late 30's early forties which wouldn't make him old enough to have been qualified as a doctor nevermind a surgeon ( as well as the only person capable of making a 'vaccine'

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just finished this overly divisive game today. Where to start, gameplay was well done little better than first game had some irritations with it but overall good.

    Gameplay stuff
    1. Had to turn off autoaim stuff cause it was fighting against me.

    2. Some of the gameplay designs like only being able to use weapons when the game said you could like couldn't pick up certain weapons etc... i found overly immersion breaking.

    3. The switching back and forth between Ellie and Abby was not all that fun because it happens so often. The equipment is different so you like being able to use Molotov's with Ellie and having a knife to do stealth kills all the time. {Mainly only had issues with not being able to stealth kill clickers with Abby unless i had shivs} which i find dumb like there are knives everywhere. and with Abby you have pipe bombs no Molotov's and i found them crap unless it was a boss but that's my opinion.
Overall i just found the jumping between characters and timelines irritating and the gameplay becomes a little boring after a while game should have been 5 hours or so shorter but that was mainly because of the timeline jumping around.
Plus story wasn't very compelling which made the length worse but we'll get to that in a sec.

Graphics are just WOW and the attention to detail was awesome too bad some of that didn't translate to story lol. I want this level of graphics in every game its pretty breathtaking little better than RDR2 but that's an open world game so it had to have compromises but Naughty dog focused every bit of smaller scale into graphics and detail and Oh my!! the GRASS lol.

Now for the STORY I overall hated it.
I find the first game a masterpiece on just story alone really didn't care to much for the gameplay but, the characters and the relationships they have will have you laughing your butt off and at times shedding tears. i don't have a child but saving Ellie at the end wasn't even a choice I was told the possible cure would kill her i was like ''Oh hell no!''.
I didn't play it at launch i got it for the ps4 so only needed to wait for part 2 for a few years and boy was it disappointing...

    --Spoilers--
Start up the game and it shows the ending of the last game and Joel telling Tommy what he did, what i did and your play as him for all of 3 mins which isn't a big deal i wanted Ellie to be the main character for this go around pick up as Ellie after the Joel sequence. walk around town learning a bit about the town and Jessie a new character his life is meaningless the writer kills him off abruptly 3/4 through the game after he finds out Dina the other new mostly pointless love interest for Ellie is pregnant. Yes Ellie is gay they'll make sure to not let you forget every chance they get {So well done in left behind} to now only character attributes are sexuality, wanting revenge, and being broken.

After a hour or so you start playing as Abby {Daughter of the doc you kill in first game} the new character and lead up to getting saved by Joel and Tommy. First thing Tommy does is tell random person both their names keep in mind they both know that some of the ppl they **** over might want revenge but who writes logic for overly smart characters right?!?

Then overly Cautious Characters head to where Abby's group are and get safe inside and Tommy and Joel both tell the whole armed group their names and where they stay and pow Joel gets killed like WTF!!!!!! so much for that false advertising of thinking it'll be an older Ellie and Joel game nah its Ellie and Abby's game a character i Hate and they try so hard for me to sympathize with hell no I know why she did it and i don't care i don't want to play as her but have to for 10ish hours and it all ends up with her losing most her friends to Ellie and Tommy and helping 2 scar sisters who are being hunted because one is trans and doesn't want to be a girl very progressive. Ellie runs into Abby again and Jessie dies and Tommy Gets what seems like bullet through the eye and Ellie begs for Abby to not kill Dina and the scar boy gives Abby a change of heart and they leave and Ellie lives on happily ever after...

Nah the Man[Tommy} has to come be an **** to Ellie and Dina and tear their family apart so Ellie goes to find Abby to killer her and Abby half dead and imprisoned Ellie frees her and wants to fight threatens the kid to get Abby to fight and they beat the **** out of each other and Ellie starts to drown her and flashback to Joel and she stops after 100s of dead ppl now is too much and Ellie is left with nothing Dina left and it ends all depressing. this games was made to subvert expectations and piss you off and it does just that I hate this game i have every right to do so for how the characters I love was treated. is about 6.5 overall but the fake 10/10 this thing is getting because ppl can't except that ppl hate what was done here. no game is a 10/10 and nearly no game is a 0-2/10
    Sorry for the Grammar.

The graphics of the game are probably the best on PS4, Captivating music and atmosphere great attention to details (mostly in the graphic part) Overall a solid game to play.

BUT NOW, was it the game i was waiting for 7 years? HELL NO, was it the game any of the fans were expecting for? HELL NO you can call me biased blind or whatever but after i finished PART 2 i went straight back to replay the FIRST PART and oh my was it a different experience, YES the gameplay itself
feels more clunkier than PART 2, YES the graphics (animations included) are not as good as PART 2 but
    everything else? SO MUCH BETTER.

Everybody knows the first game story and the relationship between Ellie and Joel and how they built it,
What i really enjoyed about the game after playing PART 2 is the inbetween, The small little parts, Ellie telling jokes to Joel, Trying to whistle throughout the game, finding comic books and listening to the little dialog when you find them, Ellie's reaction when Joel kills an enemy and much more,, Those little details what made the game 10/10 for me . They did try to give us that with Abby and Lev but yeah it didn't work for me because i couldn't care less about Abby.

TLOU2 story was all over the place and not what the fans of the first game wanted.
If it was a standalone game i would rate it 8/10 but because it's a sequel with a story that no one wanted
    i would rate it 5/10.

Gameplay was great, but the story could have definitely been better. I don’t mind the events that happen, I guess. What I mind is the decision making of how the game/story goes as you progress further into the story. Everyone brought their A game clearly. I give the game a 5 because I feel the game does not deserve a 0 nor does it deserve a 10. Amazing gameplay and voice actors did such an amazing job with their characters. However, I couldn't help but feel so miserable playing through this story as I felt forced to feel a certain way about characters as the writers wanted. An example of this is the section with the dog that the player is forced to kill, then forced to fall in love with this dog and feel guilty for something I did not want to play through. I continued to play, hoping there would be a bone thrown for me having to endure this tragic tale but nothing of that sort ever happened.
