    This might be the hardest game to judge and write a review of. It's very emotionally engaging, the gameplay may seem simple with a lot of exploring and looting however I like it personally. The story.. It's unlike anything, really. Beautiful moments mixed with very gruesome and brutal scenes. When the game ends you just sit there unable to speak.     I haven't played a game that has felt so real to me as The Last of Us part 2. Everything from the amazing gameplay to the stellar graphics and the tremendous voice acting makes the experience so unique to any other game. The story is great but with some minor adjustments to the explaining of the characters motives would be beneficial. Основные проблемы игры в: 1.)концовках- играть за Эбби и пытался убить Элли и наобарот, при этом постоянно умирать и перезагружается, уж очень бесит. 2.) Когда когда на половине игры у тебя забирают уже прокаченную Элли, у которой уже всё оружее, ресурсы и навыки, и впихивают "голую" Эбби без оружия, ресурсов и навыков, то воспринимается это не очень хорошо. 3.) Мне понятна сюжетная линия и её смысл, но когда тебе уже насильно впихивают историю Эбби, то очень наскучивает, всё прохождение за Эбби у меня вызывало лишь скуку и неприязнь. У меня как у огромного фаната первой части, конечно вызвало возмущение убийство Джоэла в самом начале, но позже оно утихло. Я понимаю смысл истории,-что Элли сошла с ума на почве мести, но ничего столь плохого я в сюжете не вижу, теперь первая часть воспринимается как: "сказка про розовых единорогов", не иначе, ведь вторая часть намного жёстче и сложнее (в морали) .     I spent 1500+ hours in this game. I’d give the gameplay a 10. Love the story too but can’t really stand the way they took out Joel so overall I can only give it a 9.

The game overall provides a good storyline and what the characters had to say or do are great overall, the gameplay is great with fantastic graphics and the world in the game looks fabulous especially if you will have a 4k TV with ps5. Would definitely recommend only if you have completed the first last of us because you would get a sense of who the characters are and what they feel throughout the second part of the game. The one star its missing is the ending as I didn't really find it exciting and would go more deeper into where and when the other characters went but that could be a whole another storyline… Expand

    Gameplay is absolutely incredible.
    In PS5 you can play it at 60 fps and the realism is awesome.

    However, the story is worse than TLOUI and Abby's part is a bit boring

I've been holding off on this title for awhile now due to reviews and decided to finally play it and completed it. it is a pretty solid title, i loved the 1st game kind of sad to see what happens to some characters, but the story has emotion, kept me on the edge of my seat most of the game. I get it, people can't handle certain parts of the story and review bombs this game because of story doesn't go the way they want it to. If you're a lover of non-linear stories where you got **** and need to reflect on what just happened, you'll enjoy this title. At the end of the day, this game tries to represent the rawness of real life, depression, and vengeance. From my point of vie, this is a masterpiece because it achieves what it tries to communicate and make you feel. People is hating because they didn't get their typical linear story and they aren't able to appreciate what goes beyond with their little closed minds.

    Regarding what I didn't like, it is really a lengthy game and it felt way too long. I don't know if it was made on purpose but towards the end it seems like it is going to end in several moments (because of the location) but then you realise that there are still maaaany hours of game left. I would have chosen other locations to avoid generating this feeling of "tiredness".

    Ignore the review bombing. This game is almost perfect. It has tense gameplay, a story that pulls you in and gets you emotionally invested in everything that's going on. Personally when Act 1 was over, I wasn't angry at NaughtyDog, I was angry with the WLF and was ready to kill them all. The graphics are incredible, the level of detail seen here is unlike 99%    Very mild spoilers ahead.

Personally when Act 1 was over, I wasn't angry at NaughtyDog, I was angry with the WLF and was ready to kill them all. The graphics are incredible, the level of detail seen here is unlike 99% of the games released on the market, the gunplay is pretty much as good as it gets with great gore, unique voice lines for most enemies, even standard NPCs, incredible difficulty settings (that's a rare compliment to give a game) and some of the best SOUND I've ever experienced in a game. You hear every little thing in this game, from tiny pieces of glass softly crunching as you slowly creep around claustrophobic abandoned buildings, to the breath of your enemy down the hallway. The survival horror aspect of this game is also on-point. You will find yourself legitimately scrounging for ammo and trying to conserve your shots while in combat, which forces you to get creative with your approaches and actually give a damn about how you take these levels on. It's not just about mindless crouch jogging and pressing Square to stealth kill clueless AIs, and then mindlessly running through swarms of bad guys with your overpowered weaponry. The stealth is unique, creative, and challenging. The combat makes your heart race and you'll quickly find yourself getting flanked from multiple directions by intelligent AI that will actually work together to try to flush you out. The cut scenes are fully rendered and beautiful, there's not a single scene in this game that looks bad, and the mild RPG elements of collecting parts for weapons upgrades and pills for stat upgrades goes just deep enough to scratch an itch without being overbearing.

    Disagreeing with certain plot points and subjects within the game (such as the "oh violence bad" criticism) doesn't suddenly strip all of this away. Reviewing the game with a 0 or 1 PURELY on the plot, when the gameplay is at the WORST a 7/10 is just entirely dishonest and childish. Criticism where it's due, but also CREDIT where its due, and the devs that were responsible for the GAMEPLAY and visuals of this game had nothing to do with the narrative side and they don't deserve to be ripped on when they did an amazing job in every way imaginable.

    If you don't know anything about The Last of Us 2, then keep it that way, and just go into this game with a clear mind and enjoy the ride. If I can describe this game in one word it would be TENSION. Every step, every hallway, every building you search, feels tense. You always feel like you're a moment away from a horde, or a giant group of armed men with dogs and you never know when it's going to come. This feeling keeps the entire game feeling fresh and keeps you invested, as opposed to other games where you're so ridiculously powerful halfway through you just monotonously trudge around the map mowing down everything in your path. This game is NOT that. If you pick up the controller, you'll find it hard to put it down.    … Expand

Сюжет великолепный, геймплей немного затянут, поэтому 9/10. Всем кто не играл - маст плэй, всем остальным, кто поставил низкий балл - рекомендую смотреть только мультики, там всегда хороший конец.Я, честно, не понимаю тех людей, которые поставили низкие оценки.     Крайне годная игра. Потрясающие анимации, сюжет, отличный стелс. Единственный минус игра крайне затянута, на 15 часу уже начинаешь уставать и хочется уже побыстрее закончить.

    Buena continuación de la primera parte, mismas mecánicas de juego y gráficamente cumple muy bien. La historia sorprende y suceden cosas que uno no espera. Igual el vivir dos historias que se acaban uniendo no acabas de empatizar con alguna de las protagonistas de la historia. Juego de notable alto y muy recomendable para la gente que haya jugado su primera parte.

The story is powerful, has surprises, and it's presented extremely well. Take people's complaints with the story with a big grain of salt--they just didn't like one of the surprises, have a problem with gay people, and/or don't like playing as a femaleIt's not perfect, but I enjoyed the game, and I liked it more than the first game. After playing it, I see why it won so many awards. The story is powerful, has surprises, and it's presented extremely well. I knew from the beginning that Joel would die anytime soon, so it wasn't really a suprise to me. If Joel would've been kept alive throughout the entire game, the storyline would've been so much less interesting. In other words, it would've been exactly like the first Last Of Us game. Abby and all the other new characters were NOT badly written. Getting to know completely new characters does not have to be a bad thing, especially with (for example) Abby's backstory. The only thing I have to agree on is that the ending could've been a bit different due to the logic behind it (or lack thereof), but that's still not a reason to hate this masterpiece of a game. The graphics are a 10/10. The Last Of Us Part II is one of the best games I've played.… Expand

    Fill all expectations and more. After finishing this game I am blown away. Clever storytelling, where you get an insight to the main and side characters stories and feelings in depth. It is brutal, scary and emotional. Full of varied action scenes and great visuals. Good animations. Strongly recommend this game.

I just finished this game, and oh boy, I don't really care about what dumb people think, this is a masterpiece, not a game about "revenge is bad duh" but a game tha shows you that everyone in the world has a diferent pov and nobody is wrong, for me, really the only mediocre part is the gameplay that didn't change basically nothing from the first one, but it still is good, I rarelly found bugs, and when I did it was because I was really searching for it, Joel's death at the start of the game was harsh, but in this world, no one is special, and no one should expect to be let alone after doing what joel did, some parts yes have a strange writing, but after thinking, it all makes sense, abby isn't the villain and neither ellie, joel wasn't the villain and neither the fireflies, the last of us world is gray and has infinites tones, this is what makes this game so amazing, the first game is about love, this is about hate, both show you not that love is good hate is bad, but that everything is conected, love and hate are two sides of the same coin, never a game did what tlou2 did to me, the last two hour were just pain whitout end, people really should give this game a second chance to see that this isn't at all a less than 5/10 game… Expand

    I can't believe that this game was review bombed so heavily. While this game is not what most expected, myself included, the story, gameplay, and acting are fantastic. I needed to play it twice to process how I felt about the game. Give the game a chance and keep an open mind, because I feel that it is an incredible experience.

    One of the best and best looking games of all time. Naughty Dog has done it again. Controls are better and the story is strong, even though the end was suprising and some how weak because I didn't saw it coming.

For a few days after finishing it, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Just incredible. The only reason it doesn't get a 10/10 is because the gameplay sections are a bit repetitive and drag more than they should. AndAn excellent game overall. Amazingly written.     Not as good as the first game, but still a great game..

    +Good variety of stealth/action gameplay, very similar to the first game (although not much improved from the previous game..) +Amazing visuals +Engaging story with heavy themes of obsession, grief, and empathy (not revenge, like a lot of people seem to think). Some characters are very unlikable, but that's kinda the point..    Not as good as the first game, but still a great game..

    -The game is a bit on the long side, and isn't paced very well.. it almost overstayed its welcome... almost..

And as for some of the negative reviews claiming this game has woke messaging, I certainly didn’t notice any, and I’m as anti-woke as they come..     The gameplay was really good, I really enjoyed it! Also the voice acting was top notch.

También me gusta el poder jugar con abby para entender el porqué mato a Joel, y aunque entiendas el porqué lo hizo, sigue doliendo la muerte de Joel y me parece genial que algo así ocurra, pocos juegos se atreven a matar a un personaje tan amado como Joel y encima lo hacen en las primeras horas de juego y a mi me parece genial, mostrando que el mundo de the last of us es cruel.     the first tlou could have worked alone, and i still would've been happy if there wasn't part 2 for it. the last of us part 2 has the best graphics i've seen in my gaming history. 10/10 to graphics. story was also good, not as solid as the first one's, but still loved every second of it. this was a lot more emotional for me than the first one tho.

I can't think of a game in recent years that has made me feel more emotions than this game. My only real complaint is that while the second half does a good job of humanizing you've grown to hate for the first half of the game, it doesn't really inspire you to want to continue forward. You see all of the characters you've grown to care about and forcing you to brutally kill them off feels truly awful. There were several times where I felt like I'd be better off not finishing the game, and it doesn't make you feel much better at the end. As such I can't say I'd recommend the game to just anyone, but as a whole it was a pretty bold narrative all throughout. If you need happy endings to function normally, don't play this game.

    Also most of these 0 star reviewers can just be honest and say they hate the gays. The way the story plays out it doesn't matter even a little if Dina was a girlfriend or a boyfriend.

    There are more genuine reasons to hate this game than "my girl character kissed a girl and it broke my narrow perspective on life."

    The characters are nuanced and have personalities of their own. They're very much not vessels for the player to impose themselves onto. You will be forced to do things as a character that disgust you throughout the game, hopefully more than the character being gay.    … Expand

    Игра тянет на 8-9, но никак не на 5,7. Странно, что на первой части оценок намного меньше, чем на второй. Если на первой 30к (пс3+пс4), то тут почти 160к. У меня есть предположение, что половину оценок поставили те, кто не играл в игру, а лишь смотрели её прохождение, т.к. не имеют пс4.     I give it a 9/10 as there's some areas of the story that I wish were elaborated more and some areas where the pacing felt off (mostly too slow). Several side characters felt like they weren't elaborated on strongly enough. And I felt it was far too easy to miss collectables, due to the many "one way doors" that the game has (I had multiple safes I knowingly missed as I thought that the clue to the combination was maybe behind some door). But with a clear mind I decided to give the game the benefit of the doubt and man it was worth it. The visuals are amazing, the gameplay flows perfectly, and the character building brings a whole new light towards characters one would otherwise hate for reasons you’ll see in the first parts of the game. The thing I liked the most which made me turn around in my opinion is what they did with Joel’s character. Now spoiler alert for all who didn’t play yet or see the leaks when the game was coming out, but in the first 4 hours of the game roughly, Joel is Killed by Abby, who’s the secondary protagonist and antagonist respectfully. Despite that though there are still several flashback scenes that you play through as a younger Ellie which sheds light on both bonding moments and breaking moments between Joel and Ellie after the first game ended. Both the voice actors all did an amazing job at portraying these characters. And yes the one gripe I have is both the mo-cap of Abby and a very vivid sex scene that happens, however the scene does fit the story and is brief enough to where I was unbothered. This is a long and emotionally draining game, but the characters and the story will help you claw through it and witness some amazing beats. I would definitely recommend it at least 1 play through, while I plan my second and maybe third.… Expand

    Thats why when I hit half the game and it forced me to play as the antagonist I was so angry. Here I am upgrading my gear etc hating the antagonist and now I have to play as her. No. I actually deleted the game and gave up on it.

    Fast forward to today almost 2 years later, decided to continue where I left off and boy was I happy I did. After I got over the fact that now I have to play with this character and seeing how the story plays out, why things happen as they do and how events are from different perspectives….     Honestly, I don’t get all the hate. Sure, it does not play it safe story wise and there are a couple segments that lack a bit, but, in general, I found it interesting and compelling. Made me feel things as a player, a bit like a Kojima game, and that’s rare in this medium. Not to mention the technical aspect, which is superb. The level of detail, animations and lightning is mind blowing.Honestly, I don’t get all the hate.     Graphics - 10. 2 years out and it’s still one of the best looking games ever made, if not the best looking. On a PS5 with the 60 fps patch on an OLED it’s unmatched. Sound - 10.     Story - 8. The biggest problem with TLOU 2’s story isn’t the non-existent “plot holes”, or it’s supposed “wokeness” (gay people exist, cope), but rather it’s pacing. The pacing of TLOU 1 is flawless. The pacing of TLOU 2 is all over the place. This is because of the dual narrative arch’s and many flashback sequences that show how Ellie’s relationship with Joel changed since the ending of the first game. As far as the actual narrative itself though, it’s strong. Like tlou 1 the premise is simple, but it’s the characters that give the story depth. The way they emote, the way they say one thing and do another, they way can convey so much with just subtle glances. Tlou 1 did all these things before very well, and tlou 2 follows suit.

    Gameplay - 10. Massive improvement over part one. Anyone who says they are the same is being intellectually dishonest or wearing rose tinted goggles. Part 1 feels very dated in all aspects except story at this point, it’s nearly 9 years old. The ability to break glass, go prone, and jump coupled with open ended arenas is a big improvement over the first game. You can disagree, but you’re wrong.

    Final score: 9. Beat it twice, probs gonna go for a 3rd run when tlou part 1 is released.    … Expand

    Not as good as the first game. The story is masterfully intertwined. You reject some story decisions at first but as you play you sympathise with all angles in this harsh brutal world. Game looks beautiful. The game pushes the boundaries of realism with in-depth reactions from the vast world, especially with the npc animations and voice lines when you are attacking them.     An Absolute technical masterpiece , we can argue about the story all day but I don't think people can deny the technical achievements of this game with masterpiece combat and stealth mechanics.

In terms of gameplay, it is much better than number one. It's meatier, more imaginative, snappier, and just plain better and funnier. The music here is perfection again, just like with number one. For me, The Last of Us Part II is an amazing sequel that surpassed the first part in many ways. The first part is for me, along with the first, a gem that I will never forget, in some ways I understand the controversy, but I have to say that some players are really demented and idiots!!! I'm sorry for the criticism, because in my opinion this is another one of the best titles of all time. The only downside is the transition between locations, which sometimes seems unnecessarily drawn out and lengthy, sometimes it made me a little tired, but only rarely, it's a small flaw in the beauty. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
