    Este juego me hizo ver que puedes llegar a querer a alguien a quien odias con toda tu alma, que la muerte puede llegar en cualquier momento y sin aviso, y que tarde o temprano puede llegar el juicio de nuestros actos. Una gran obra, para los que les gusten las obras de extrema crudeza.

    I liked the game for its atmosphere, story, and characters. It was interesting to watch the parallel progression of stories from two points of the narrative. One branch of the story followed the path of revenge, carrying the character down, and the other the other way up. Lively emotions, lively characters. Great cutscenes. I recommend it to everyone.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I never wrote a review, but there was so much controvery around this game that I just had to do a review. People just need to calm down. It is a good game with a brutal revenge story and wth an unbelievable atmosphere and immersion. It is certainly not the best story, but it took me in and I couldn't stop playing. Yes, Joel dies and it made me angry and I hated the game for a minute. However after you learn the motivation and story of the other side, it actually makes you understand. So don't get confused by all the crybabies and just enyoy the game for what it is: a game!… Expand

    A worthy sequel in my opinion. A strong and hard to digest story. The storytelling was excellent and made you understand both protagonists' motives and consequences of what you've done. Gameplay was similar to the first one with improvements. Stealth is both more detailed and hard because enemies are smarter. Combat is refined and challenging. A great game, good graphics, the truth is this is one of the best games I have seen, the truth does not deserve to be hated, the truth is when you understand the story well, even the smallest detail and you will understand it by or how he did it.     It's tempting to give this a 10 to outweigh some of the ridiculous reviews this game has received, but I think it's better to give my honest opinion. This game is not perfect, it's not a masterpiece but it is still a very good game which I continue to think about months after finishing.

And here is my review : Tlou 2 is a very ambitious game that is depressing yet it’s the brutal realism that raises the bar of gore and tension that I’ve never before felt in a video game despite playing on the second easiest difficulty. The story and some dialogue can feel awkward at times but it’s the acting that can sells the story. I know for a fact that most of the SJW stuff that was pushed into the story was probably because of druckmann however that does not warrant framing the game a disaster like most people have. The story for the most part is pretty good , I understand that most people don’t like that Joel died but the fact is that if someone like Jesse died and this was his revenge story then it would fall flat because we the player don’t know or care that much about Jesse. By killing Joel they ignite anger from the player and thus drive forward the revenge plot of the game with you relating with how Ellie feels. Slowly you start disconnecting from Ellie as she commits horrid acts like killing a pregnant woman and actual people without remorse that slowly ushers in the theme of just how monstrous humans can be. As Ellie is descending into madness in a drive of vengeance and redemption Abby is ascending up by bonding with her friends and moving on but she realised that she now has no purpose now that her fathers killer is dead but eventually Lev enters her like and like Joel with Ellie,Abby slowly becomes more and more humane as she and lev become more attached and try to survive. It’s genuinely an enthralling story that never feels like a drag or too far fetched , Ellie gets injured easily , crafting is a must , resources are scarce,numbers are never on your side and (spoiler free) characters you actually started to care about die without warning or build up which feel sudden but realistic at the same time.Overall the story is dark and unsettling but that’s what last of us has always been. But even if you don’t agree with the story and it’s direction( which isn’t for everyone) the game play is a unanimous W because it excels everywhere the original may have lacked , that is only possible to the variety of new systems and weapons at your disposal not to mention a lot of movement and parkour not possible before. It’s also nice that Abby and Ellie play every differently from each other as Ellie favours stealth while Abby favours strength and momentum. Boss fights for the most part are good but three stand out from the rest and that has to be the Ellie boss fight, Tommy(Sniper) and rat king boss fight. It’s amazing when fighting Ellie how she uses all the weapons and techniques you learned against you and it’s truly tense , similarly the sniper boss fight may feel like a slow drag but it’s paranoia of not knowing when you may get shot that’s really gets you but the rat king bloater boss fight is my favourite from the game due to the sheer stress and tension you feel throughout the 15-20 min fight. It’s been a while since I’ve felt sad after beating a game , it’s normally joy or excitement but this shows you that tlou2 is not like other games. A game that emotionally invests you is W in my book regardless of what the majority think. The ending also feels depressing yet slightly satisfying as Ellie finds a battered and broken Abby and is ready to kill her but when she sees what’s become of Abby and the fact that Abby hurries straight to lev and even offers Ellie a way out but as the memories come back to Ellie she fights Abby and I felt bad as Ellie was drowning Abby I didn’t feel like I was winning , killing a dying woman that only cared about the survival of her companion lev. But then all of sudden Ellie get a memory not the one of Joel dying like she did for the rest of the game but the memory of their last conversation and remembering that Ellie had forgiven Joel and that he died on good terms with her brought her the satisfaction that she had thirsted for so long, not Abby death but a simple memory was enough to make Ellie remember that killing Abby would only send her even more down into the madness that had taken ahold of her and so she lets Abby go and returns to the farm. Where she is unable to play the Joel’s guitar, his last memory for her. And thus she’s able to move on. It may not be better then the original but it’s in no way worse.

    Amazing visuals and interesting story with few plothols thou. Middle of the game is a little bit boring but overall is an amazing game. Would recommend despite what others say.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As much of a cliché as it is, The Last of Us Part II is ahead of its time. This has one of the most memorable stories that I've personally ever played, and it contradicts the first game entirely. In The Last of Us Part II, Joel is a shell of a human being at the beginning of the game, but through the innocence of his child companion, Ellie, he's given a second chance, both as a human being in general, and as a father. In The Last of Us Part II, Ellie starts as a good person (a little bit rude, maybe) and by the end of the game, she is left by everyone she loves, loses two fingers (making her unable to play guitar anymore), and develops severe PTSD. In my opinion, making the sequel of the most heartwarming game I've ever played, the most depressing game I've ever played is the boldest artistic decision made by a Triple-A game studio to date. If you hated this game because there is no relationship like there is with Joel and Ellie in the first, 1. I think you missed the point entirely 2. There is, between Abby and Lev, but it isn't the a huge part of the game. The Last of Us Part II has the least satisfying ending of any story I've ever experienced, but that doesn't make it bad. Ellie changes her mind, and she's allowed to do that, because Ellie is a dynamic character, and you aren't Ellie. Trust me, I wanted to kill Abby as much as the next guy, but at the end of the game, following Abby to the ends of the earth to kill her is just as bad as what she does to Joel, setting Ellie down this path, and if Ellie does that to Abby, she'll be setting Lev down that path, too. But she ends the cycle, she may have down the completely wrong path in her life, but Ellie still knows the difference between right and wrong. The biggest flaw with this game, is it's structure and pacing. It's not at all a traditional structure, which I think they probably should've gone with, but it didn't take much away from my enjoyment of the game. Maybe I'm just sad that he died, but I wish we could've seen more of Joel, before his death. This is definitely not a perfect game, but I think that it's a fitting sequel to a fantastic game. If you're offended because the main character is a lesbian, the other main character is believed to be transgender, and a side character is definitely transgender, then you're the snowflake.… Expand

    Let's be honest, this game is very devisive and i really respect Naughty Dog for that as this game is up for interpretation. This game is either a hit or a miss and for me, it was a solid hit. I love how this game challenges you mentally and and gets you to think about the choices Ellie makes and whether you agree with her or not affects how you see the story.     Visually this game is outstanding, it is always constantly dripping with atmosphere and had me immersed the whole time. The gameplay is so fluid, by far the best stealth game in the business. The way Ellie moves in and out of stealth is so smooth and makes you feel epic. Of course no game is perfect, which is why i gave it a 9, there are a few bugs here and there but what game doesn't have them. I also can understand where people are coming from when there say this game wasn't for them, to some people this game just doesn't work which is why i strongly believe you should play this game for yourself as it is up for interpretation and should be a choice you make whether you like this game or not. For me it was a hit, i couldn't stop thinking about this game when i wasn't playing it and didn't want it to end. I think no other game has made me cry as much as this one has, but that was a good thing for me because i was truly immersed in the story and the characters. Well done Naughty Dog.    … Expand

    This game is the most emotional I've ever played. I've never experienced something similar before. After I reached the end of the story, I couldn't even sleep because of all the thought I had in my mind.
    The story is not fun. At all. It's very hard and painful to watch. But it's incredibly well written and shown. It was a crazy experience, like if something terrible was happening, if someone you love destroy himself, and you couldn't do anything about it.
    I did not like this story, because it caused me pain and sadness. But it's the reason why it's a great story : it bring you to intense reflexion, and that's a point of fiction.
    So indeed the game is not fun, it's not a game to relax : it's a game to experience intense (bad) emotions. You will not have a good time playing it, but you'll get out of it stronger.

    So that's about the story, but the scenario is one single part of gaming.
    This game is technically incredibly beautiful. It's not perfect, I experienced a few bugs (even one which forced me to reload the game) (I mean a few, like 3 or 4 in 30 hours) which ruined the immersion. But apart from this, graphics are insane for a PS4 game. The feeling of guns are also very good, you really feel like to shoot with a powerful thing.
    But (and that's why I gave 9 to this game and not 10) the game is too long for its story : some scenes are unnecessarily long, with lots of buildings to explore which all look the same, or some ennemies in places in which it makes no sense. Sometimes I felt a bit bored, I was like "ok I understand the thing, now move on please". Also, the gameplay diversity is very poor. It's basically explore, find stuff and fight, over and again.

    To be short : the game is incredible, very heartbreaking, but quite too long and repetitive.

Yes there are messed up things that happened and you have to play as one of the most hated characters but at the end of the game where you are in the water and you are drowning her, you sit there and think “I am tired of this and I don’t want to” that’s what makes this game amazing!     I dont understand the hate for this game, it's really good, not as good as the first but then again nothing is. I like this game a lot its gameplay is so great. The story does get annoying after replaying it a lot, the flashbacks make the game harder to replay, other then that it's a great game. I wish they'd add a wave mode so I could have more fun

Yes, a lot of bloody, sweat and crunch was sacrificed at the altar to create this game but shady development practices aside, the quality is unmatched. Mechanically, it is perfect. Where it falters is in the chronology of its narrative. I understand why it is ordered the way it is but it ultimately puts too much emphasis on the rare interactions between its opposing protagonists. We get it, revenge doesn't get you anywhere. That point is made relatively soon in the story but it continues to hammer the same nail right up to the end and it is emotionally exhausting. The story is brilliant in principle. Characters behave in manners true to themselves and the performances are phenomenal. But there are no moments of catharsis like there were in the original TLOU. Instead it is a sequence of actions, taken in the name of hatred that, little-by-little destroy the character taking those actions. Every Act with Ellie ends with her reaching a new rock bottom and it is so oppressively depressing.

    Ultimately I have scored this game from a technical perspective. It is a marvel to see running on a PS4, the gameplay is thrilling and I was invested in the story. Yet I must add, I did not enjoy playing TLOU2 because of how it made me feel. The ending is so hopelessly miserable that I googled whether there was a secret ending that I missed. You spend 30 hours descending into this story of misery to find there really is no light at the end of the tunnel, just more misery. It's horrible and really shouldn't be played by anyone whose emotions are easily affected by watching their favourite TV show, or reading their favourite book. You'll get invested in these well-rounded characters and catch some severe depression as you experience what happens to them.    … Expand

    It seems to me people who deliberately underestimate the game's rating. Have not even played this game, play it yourself and draw your own conclusions.

    If you have watched the walkthrough of the game on YouTube or Twitch, you will not feel the game.
    It's a very personal and complex story.

    The game is good, it's just not for children.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us part 2 has some issues. First of all i'm one of those who thinks Ellie and Joel shouldn't have apeared in this game. I think their story should have ended with the first game. Even though, i'm really thankful Ellie shows up in the second part, not because of her, but because thanks to her, i've been able to experience the conflict between her and Abby. And here comes my favourite part of the game... Abby. I really felt her and her conflict. Yeah, she's also looking for vengeance and she finally gets it, but she is much more than that and she makes a long journey for redemption. At the final part of the game i felt so bad for playing Ellie and going after Abby to kill her that i almost have prefered Ellie to die.ELLIE. A character i've loved from the moment i saw her. Naughty dog did a great job with their characters and their game.… Expand

И если вы все же возьмёте и пройдёте игру на Survivor'е, то тут вы познакомитесь и с захватывающими схватками, где вам в придётся использовать всё, что попадает под руку, дабы пережить бой; и с проработанным до мелочей стелсом, где вам надо будет использовать всю вашу смекалку, чтобы незамеченным пройти на следующую локацию; и с отличной прокачкой оружия и навыков, которая и бонусом наградит, и игровой процесс преобразит.
    Плюсом, за всю игру я не встретился ни с одним багом. Здесь отдельный респект для Naughty Dog.
    Теперь пару слов про сюжет и идейность проекта. Сюжетом я доволен. История очень выразительная и эмоциональная. Но в тоже время я столкнулся с некоторыми нелогичностями в сюжете, которые меня огорчили. И честно сказать, я не хочу их обсуждать. Но факт остается фактом, эти эпизоды нелогичности все еще есть в игре, и думаю вас они тоже разочаруют. Но эти эпизоды кажутся совсем незначительными, если сравнивать их со стержнем сюжета - историей о мести. Я обожаю финал The last of us part two, он великолепен и дарит те эмоции, которые я даже не думал испытать.
    В итоге, я очень люблю эту игру, но десятку я ей не дам, так как она не идеал сюжетной игры. Но TLOU 2 очень близка к этому идеалу и поэтому 9/10.    … Expand

    Controversial story, especially for those who played the first game, but if you consider this is still a game not movie or book, it is pretty good. Gameplay is still very enjoyable, but it seems to be a little bit repetitive comparative to first game. And a little bit too much walking from wall to wall :).

    Summary: phenomenal visuals, stellar sound design and voice acting, deeper gameplay and a captivating story FOR ADULTS.

    Great play which is produced very little. Excellent production, the sound of nature and whistles, the plot and interesting characters that you empathize with (at the end, crying). Of the minuses, not enough action is not particularly fun shootout when you have 10 bullets in your pocket, and you yourself understand what thoughts were promoted through the game.

    да когда я поняла что мне нужно играть 15 часов за эбби было принято решение поставить единицу, но сейчас спустя 6 месяцев, непрерывных раздумий, стало очевидно, что это достойное продолжение (эбби конечно можно было и меньше сделать....... например раза в три) и сравниваяя с к*берп*нком это реальный шедеврда когда я поняла что мне нужно играть 15 часов за эбби было принято решение поставить единицу, но сейчас спустя 6 месяцев, непрерывных раздумий, стало очевидно, что это достойное продолжение (эбби конечно можно было и меньше сделать....... например раза в три) и сравниваяя с к*берп*нком это реальный шедевр

The story can be hit or miss for some, but it is not objectively bad as it has little to no plot holes and is well written for the most part. It may be a little disappointing for some if you were expecting a repeat of the first game. Regardless, I think this game is not deserving as much hate as it has gotten. The plot and characters are engaging and invoke many emotions in you, while also challenging some of your instinctive emotions and feelings. However, the tone of the story is very dark, so it may not be for everybody. The gameplay and level design is superb with some very intense enemy encounters due to Naughty Dog crafting some of the best AI I have seen in a game that seem like real people. Graphics are stunning. Animations are lifelike. Gameplay is fun, responsive, and intuitive. Sound design is phenomenal as well with gun shot effects in particular being very well done. The infected are scarier than ever with improved models and even better sound design than the first game. Sound track is also great and suits the themes well in the game. Overall, despite me being a little disappointed with the direction of the story it’s hard to talk bad about this game when it does so much right. I would give the first game a 10/10 just because I preferred the tone of the story better and I liked the characters a little bit better. This game I would give a 9/10 due to some pacing problems and darker tone of the story with less appealing characters. Definitely recommended this game though.… Expand

    Almost every aspect of this game is gorgeous. Best action-thrilling adventure I’ve ever had in video games. Graphics, design, sound, voice acting are totally amazing.

    Really outstanding game. It definitely has a story that’s hard to swallow, however that not to say that it is a bad written story. Actually, these characters are extremely real, sometimes it doesn’t even feel like a movie, but more like how you would imaging people interacting with each other under the difficult circumstances this world has put upon them. While the first game had beautiful moments and justifies the difficult moments with the pretext of loving someone, this game makes the effort to make you feel like you are tripping over the same rock again and again. Ellie makes her decisions with a blinded view, but unlike you’d expect from most mainstream entertainment media, she does make it cool to be wrong, she is just keeps make mistake after another and that made me feel static or stagnant. Apart from that, the gameplays feel really good, haven’t found but only one bug in the hole game. Graphics look incredible. Sounds and scenery are believable. The only down side is that you spend a big amount of time playing as Abby and only at the end of the game you are able to understand why that was made like that, but during the gameplay it can get boring.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a masterpiece. You complain so much because Joel is dead. If he stayed alive and Dina died, the story wouldn't make sense. I am still shocked by Joel's death, but I think it fits because the story has become very interesting. The graphics are majestic, the enemies are very realistic. There is also a fearful minutia. The characters are charismatic except Mel who is the only character I didn't like because, in my opinion, she is useless. Neil Druckmann is a genius, one of the best authors in the gaming world along with Kojima.
    P.S. TLOU2 is not a story of revenge, but it is a story based on Joel's FORGIVENESS. Besides Joel's forgiveness, Ellie has lost everything. Like Dina with her son JJ because of Ellie's decision, her mother's screen knife and fingers, now she can no longer play the guitar given by Joel. This is for people who haven't understood anything about the game. ;-p
    P.P.S. If Ellie had killed Abby, the story wouldn't have made sense.

    Muy buen videojuego, temática adulta e historia muy interesante que te mantiene expectante de principio a fin. Quizás pierde el factor sorpresa de lo que fue su primera parte pero la historia te cautiva al verla desde otro punto de vista. Lo recomiendo 100%. De lo mejor en esta generación

    I feel bad for the game developers for all the backlash because I honestly think they did a wonderful job. I'm a huge fan of the first game and have a soft spot for Joel and Ellie; so when I saw all the bombing when the leaks came out, I tried avoiding them because I wanted to play it for myself a see. Until this holiday when I finally got the chance to play this game for myself and it completely changed my impression. One point off for Tommy inciting Ellie into revenge part and the rest of the plot is nothing but a masterpiece. And in my opinion, the developers coped with this task very well, presenting a masterpiece game in terms of the character of the heroes, internal conflicts, ambiguous actions and "gray" morality, which is almost maximized.

    The gameplay since the first part, in my opinion, has practically not changed. The second part strongly parasitizes on the old, not offering anything new, except for some points. Here it is appropriate to make a comparison with a series of games from the same studio - Uncharted. Uncharted 4 came out 5 years after the previous part, and there the gameplay along with the graphics made a qualitative leap forward, giving the player a new experience and great pleasure from the gameplay. New interesting features were added, the existing ones were improved and reworked. By the way, the plot and characters of the characters have also been greatly improved and complicated. Here, a whole 7 years have passed since the release of the first part, and so little has changed: the game most of the time takes place in the same places as in the first part (abandoned buildings, overgrown streets, etc.); the same principle of fighting the infected and the soldiers; the pumping of the hero and weapons has not really changed; there is only one new type of infected, which is rather boring; practically no new game features, such as the rumor, which has not been reworked since the first part, etc. Yes, graphics, detailing, physics of the surrounding world have improved. I don’t know, maybe it’s partly good that the game is “true to itself”, and many players were waiting for this, but personally for me it is a small, but still a minus, as I expected more.

    But, as already mentioned, the last of us is first of all a story, and then a game. The first thing I thought after going through the second part: why people, having such material on their hands, did not go to shoot a TV series or a film, because the depth of everything that happens goes beyond blockbuster games. Ellie and Joel's story stands out from a number of other games that have a similar genre. Most games don't even come close to the last of us, because the plot, however good it is, is only a means of providing gameplay possibilities. Here, as I see it, the first task of the creators was to make history.

    And the last of us 2 is a logical continuation of this story, which reveals the drama of the previous part from the other side, giving it even more depth. "Ambiguity" - this word can be used to describe the whole game. It manifests itself not only in the characters of the characters, but in everything that happens.     Good story and game play. I can understand why alot of people hate some of the decisions the characters make, but it felt natural to me. Really great graphics, exited for a possible remaster and dlc.

    It looks like a lot of players can not appreciate the story in this game. For me it feels like 2 games merged together and loosing my character progress halfway the game. Maybe the game is a bit slow or too long but I enjoyed every moment of it.

    Excellent graphics on PS4 pro, smooth animations and transitions of music. Different play styles possible.

    Don’t think it deserved all the bad reviews I loved the game.It had some really good survival aspects and the combat was great.I also really liked how I got to see the “villain” of the main character side.The collectibles were pretty cool especially the uncharted reference.Overall game did not disappoint it’s really down to the person that plays it.(And I got it for 30 bucks)

The Perspective swap from Ellie to Abby part way through the game was an awesome switch for anyone who isn’t a brain dead spite filled desk gremlin and tried played through Abbys section with an open mind. The game is really well done story wise and It gives the characters realistic depth. The last of us Part II isn’t the game many wanted but I do think it was a game we needed. The end got a little slow in the ranch house but that’s because every time the screen cut to black I expected the credits to roll. Overall a great game in my opinion. 9/10… Expand

It’s crazy, I know I’ve felt deeply for characters in stories before, however watching The Last of Us felt likeA few days ago I watched a play-through of the game The Last of Us Part 2, and it was a profoundly emotional experience for me. It generated so much empathy through its’ characters unlike any other film or show I think I’ve ever watched; so it’s been on my mind for about 4 days. It’s crazy, I know I’ve felt deeply for characters in stories before, however watching The Last of Us felt like I actually experienced the loss of a loved one like the protagonists do in this story. The director uses a lot of recurring musical and symbolic themes, and idk maybe it’s unique to the medium of video games that it is able to instill such empathy and connection with the characters, but it’s something I just needed to talk to someone about. I don’t think it’s necessary to have already been fond of the characters Joel and Ellie before coming into the sequel, as I had seen a play-through of the original over 4 years ago and wasn’t exceptionally moved by it’s story. Anyway, I loved the new characters Lev and Abby, and yearn for the best for each of them as much as I do for Ellie and Dina.
    A criticism would be that the flashbacks tend to follow a repetitive/similar arc and sometimes feel out of place. A couple of the characters like Owen and Abby's father are slightly unlikable at times. I think Abby's father felt a bit cheesy.

    Awesome gameplay. The sound and the graphics were astonishing, and the attention for the details is an example for future games. An amazing game that shows us a reality hard to believe, but unavoidable: People are not inherently bad or good and they try to do whathever they need to attain a goal derived from their experiences.

Да, есть впечатляющие экшен-сцены (мне больше всего запомнились погоня с Джесси, переход по мосту на высоте и вся глава в горящей деревне). Но то, что они сделали с историей, — это возмутительно. Сама идея очеловечить главного антагониста, показать его историю и превратить из чистого злодея во что-то более сложное — интересная и, пожалуй, смелая. Но пол-игры заставлять играть за того, кто тебе мягко говоря не симпатичен и не особо интересен, — это издевательство. И все эти друзья Эбби меня тоже раздражали, кроме разве что Мел. Вот со Scars получше линия. Ну а когда настала сцена, где надо от лица Эбби биться с Элли, хотелось просто бросить и не проходить дальше, а дать ей убить эту овцу, что я и сделал несколько раз. Все эти бесконечные флешбеки с проходом по коридору дико раздражали. Вообще, чересчур длинная игра: если по первой даже с дополнением у меня счетчик показывает 28 часов, то по второй — 46 часов, это слишком. Хотелось, чтобы на сцене с фермой и пейзажами а-ля Терренс Маллик все и законилось (ок, показали бы еще счастливую жизнь Эбби в Санта-Барбаре). Но нет, им этого мало. Окей, финальная битва получилась впечатляющая — но и тут вместо удовлетворительного финала они дали anticlimactic. Короче, идите в жопу. 6/10

    P.S. Моя любимая сцена в игре — музей с динозаврами.

Даже Эбби, которая изначально у меня вызывала только насмешки, в конце мне не хотелось ее убивать. Я трижды перепроходил последние сражение так как просто не хотел нажимать на кнопки.
    Но почему тогда только 9, а не 10. Все очень просто. Игра мне показалась чуть-чуть затянутой по началу. Слишком медленно она начинала разгоняться. А для Эбби как раз наоборот будто бы не хватило времени, чтобы начать ей полностью сопереживать. Я понимаю задумку авторов и в моем случае они смогли это сделать. Сделать так чтобы я сопереживал двум героем сразу и не понимал кто из них лучше. В любом случае, Нил подарил мне такие эмоции, которые ты испытываешь только от великолепной книги или фильма.     I gave the first game a 10, and this one a 9 because the first one is a love story and this one is more about violence and revenge. That doesn't mean the characters or the story aren't as good as the first one. Having the game reveal in it's early moments that this will not be a happy ending, it still manages to end in a (to me at least) logical and satisfactory outcome. Could this have been a happy rehash of the previous story? Yes, but it wouldn't be an original, heart wrenching masterpiece that it ended as. Not many games today leave you thinking and talking about them afterwards. I've actually suggested to my PC only friends to get a PS4 or PS5 just for this.
    The gameplay is improved from the 1st title. The graphics are quite honestly the best I've ever seen. The soundtracks are beautiful. It's exciting and meaningful. A must play if you care about story in games.    … Expand

    One of the best designed games from start to finish. Awesome story in the truest form of the word. A couple parts felt slowish but all in all an amazing game and sequel to finish what is probably my favourite ps4 game to date. Was actually the reason I bought the console. Had extremely high hopes for the game that delivered on every front. I don't understand the low ratings.

There are a number of problems with this game, like the long level designs that can be somewhat repetitive at times, and Abbys part of the story. But even with these problems, and a couple more along the way, I loved this game. Now let me get this straight, when I say I have a problem with the Abby part of the story, it’s not for the reason that I’ve seen many people have. Naughty Dog made a risky move in trying to make the player play as the villain for the second half of the game, and honestly, I felt like they did a great job on it. I found myself accepting and understanding abbys side better, some say the game was trying to manipulate the player, but ALL games do that. I liked abbys story, but my problem was that the story did not correlate with the first half of the game. Everything that happened with lev and Lara was good and interesting, but it doesn’t have anything to do with Ellie’s part of the story. Abbys side is mostly about the Scars until the end when Abby sees her friends dead. And while I don’t have a problem with Abby or her story, it would have been better if they connected the sides better, so you could see abbys reactions from the things Ellie did, and visa versa. Other then that, I loved the game. The gameplay was a 9/10, the graphics were a 10/10, the music 8/10, the characters 8/10, and the story, the most hated part of the game was a solid 9/10. One of the main reasons people hate the story is the death of Joel at the beginning. I got that part spoiled for me and was still shocked when and how it happened. One person said the death was unmemorable, but I don’t think I’d ever forget it. The performance from the actors, especially Ellie, really sold the whole thing. It was bloody, and messy, and traumatizing, but it sparked the whole drive of the story. It made you want to go after Abby and kill her. It was such a strong and powerful death in a game, and while I miss Joel, and loved him in the first game, the sequel would not be as powerful without the death. Oh and the whole guitar scenes were very emotional for me. Like, at the end of the game she can’t play anymore, she can’t do the one last thing that connected her To Joel. I was kinda crushed. But anyways, the game is very deep and has a lot of layers. The story isn’t as simple as “revenge bad” or forgiveness, because that’s just what’s in the surface. I’d love to be able to explain it better to anyone who reads this, but honestly, watch “the last of us part ll is a perfect sequel” by Nathan Zed, because it explains it perfectly. I understand certain reasons on why people don’t like this game, but all in all I wasn’t disappointed. I even liked the sequel better then the original. Also, if you got time, watch the two videos about the last of us part ll by videogamedunky, because there just great. I loved this game, the action the romance (which even if your homophobic you can’t deny that the relationship between Ellie and Dina was great) and the story were amazing.… Expand

    Fine, here i go. You won't be reading anything you haven't read before. In short? This game is great, for me at least.

    Now why exactly.

    Gameplay. This is gonna be short, you know, everyone, even the bad reviews writes that it's good, and it is. It's almost perfect. No doubts.

    Story. That's where things get hard to explain. You either love it or hate it. I will get stoned for this, but if you look at it closely enough, it have the same spirit as Tlou, because in the end main character gets saved, in some way. Joel by saving Ellie, and Ellie by letting Abby go. This time it's just bit darker than some could handle. But that's alright. Even i didn't like some parts of this ride.

    Characters. Everyone stayed in the way they were written. Some may say that Joel was out of character when he told WLF his name. But it was the situation that made him do it. Some may say Ellie was out of character when she yelled at Joel, or when she let her biggest enemy go. She wasn't. Right from the start we knew we need to expect this from her. And she slowly needed to realise that she needs to change.

    To summarise it once again, this game is piece of art, something we all should try at least once. The story is more complicated and so is the world you are exploring. You shouldn't expect anything you fly through happily. But rather something you slowly sink into. And when you get into the right depth you realise it's something much bigger, than just death and revenge. It's okay even if you don't like it afterwards.

    Truly terrific game that had my emotions in a spin the entire time. Storytelling was beautiful however not a full 10 as I think it could have been shorter. Gameplay evolves throughout but the stealth kills do get a bit repetitive after a while.

    A touching story about loss.
    When I saw Joel defends Ellie , I felt completely shattered and my heart was broken. Because it became a memory.

    Very very overhated. Half of the people here havent played it. I'll keep this short. The story is amazing, most people I see are simply angry that a fictional character died in a way they didn't like- not understanding that the point of such a death happens to get you mad. Well, whatever.

    It was at this point where she stopped having nightmares, and had one dream where she saw her father being happy.
    This correlates to the closure Ellie had in relation to Joel's death by showing mercy to Abby, seeing a happy, healthy Joel sitting down. Abby being good to the scars and helping them, especially at the end when she was carrying Lev to the boat correlates to the previous game where Joel was carrying Ellie out of the hospital, where they were about to kill her for the cure. Ellie giving Lev and Abby a chance to live was just a way of naughty dog showing us that the legacy of Joel and Ellie in some way is mirrored through Abby and Lev. So imo think Abby was a very important character and helped us to see the bigger picture.
    Most people just can't get over the fact that Joel died. Hence slander the story without giving it a very very very in depth look. Tlou1 is a story with happiness on the surface with grief, sadness and a lot of questions underneath While,
    Tlou 2 is a story with misery on the surface but peace, redemption and freedom underneath. Please look at the story with a different lens, not just with the "why did they kill Joel" lens
    People just wanted revenge, but TLOU2 is more than that. It teaches the player that peace can be found, and forgiveness is tho only way through which one can find peace.
    Ellie was going through PTSD, so was Abby.
    It was only through forgiveness that both of them were able to at least find the door that leads to their peace.
    There's no objectively good or bad guy in the game, but everyone in the game, at some point does good or bad things and the story writing in this game exhibited that perfectly!
    Looking at things critically, Joel wasn't a 'good' person.
    He was a selfish man, who killed an innocent doctor who could have found the cure to a disease.
    Joel's actions basically rippled through and led to everything happening in TLOU 2 Joel tried to seek closure for her daughter's death through Ellie, and through that, ended up making selfish decisions which in Ellie's own words, prevented her life from meaning something.

    TLOU 2 took a very ambitious and bold step that you rarely or never find in gaming. Naughty didn't want a cliche where Joel died in the arms of Ellie while saying his last, well coordinated words.
    Naughty dog made the game unpredictable.

    And this is why you should actually play TLOU2.    … Expand

People rating this game with 0 or 1 at this point just look like kids throwing a temper tantrum over the death of Joel or the path that Ellie takes this game. And even as a big fan of the first game I even find worrying the fact you would even get emotionally attached to him when he is a smuggler, he tortured people, killed inocents, etc. Don't get me wrong, he is a fantastic character, but treating him as some kind of hero or getting upset about his death? Nah...
    So anyways, the visuals in this game are outstanding (9/10). The OST while not as memorable as the first game's is still decent (7/10). The gameplay is a step up in every sense compared to the first game (new enemies, new mechanics) and the game is overall really fun to play (10/10).
    I personally think that the story and the narrative are spectacular (10/10). I had never experienced something like this while playing a videogame. I think Abby as a character is really clever because at first you think she is some kind of villain but then you realize that she is basically a "better Ellie" in the sense that all his motives are "more justified" (she seeks revenge for the death of her father, which was an innocent who tried to save humanity, while Ellie seeks revenge for Joel that, well...) so it puts the player on a difficult spot in which you think that you are playing as the villain, but then you are actually not, and then when you get the full picture you get the same feeling in Santa Barbara playing as Ellie, and this time you know for certain that you are the "villain". The fact that the story is told on a "Left Behind" style, going back and forth in time, was also really cool. And there are some others really cool new characters such as Dina or Lev, which I think are really complex considering they are secondary characters.    … Expand

I get that we all have different opinions of a game but I thought this game was just as good, and better as the first on all components. I refused to look at the spoilers, I heard about the leaks but no details, I predicted Joel’s death from the beginning but not how he died, but was unbothered with how he died. He became a softer man now having his pseudo-daughter back, more trusting because of the safety of family. Why wouldn’t he help someone when that is what Jackson was doing for the past four years. The one thing I understand is the story telling complaint... however I am still in love with the story. I watched a review video that explaining well, it seems as though when you fight Ellie as Abby that the climax most literally drops off and flattens out. Then up and down up and down after that. Yes that is not a traditional story arc, but I am not annoyed by that. My opinion is that while yes while you play as Abby, there really isn’t any climactic mission like Ellie, but the idea that Abby has absolutely no idea Ellie is out there after her. For me that is an interesting story line, again though not perfect, I still enjoyed it. Everyone’s opinion is different, but I simply do it understand the intense hatred of this game. The story is memorable and different, the new characters and groups are interesting and Ellie's character is well developed through her relationships with Dina and Joel. The combat and graphics have also improved massively from the previous game. I can understand legitimate complaints such as the amount of time you have to play as Abby or that the ending is a bit of an anti-climax I do agree that the final fight between Ellie and Abby does originally leave you feeling robbed but the final scenes of Ellie and Joel are incredibly emotional which does make up for it. However its irritating to see that the majority of the negative reviews on the game are either just people making thinly veiled attempts to hide the fact they didn't like the game because their favorite character died or people complaining about 'SJW bs being rubbed in their face' which is really just code for 'wOmEn AnD LGBTQ+ pEoPlE bAd'. Overall its a great game and well worth the 25 hours of game time.… Expand

    The story is fantastic, in spite of what you likely have heard. The main reason I give it a 9/10 is that certain aspects of the gameplay loop feel dated (loot, scavenge, craft, repeat). However, the gameplay is still a lot of fun and the mechanics are greatly improved over the original. Give this game a try, don't listen to triggered little gamer review bombers.
