    Great game with gorgeous graphics and animations. Gameplay is solid and very good. Never been so conflicted between 2 main characters, Abby and Ellie are real humans from flesh and blood and it's so well written. Only downside are the side characters, they don't flesh them out so much like in the first game.

    but you MUST FINISH THE **** GAME TO REALLY ENJOY IT
    The SJW- section of this game is not only minimal, but fairly well done, and for the most part fades into the background unless you're looking for something to be mad at.
    SPOILERS BELOW
    It is absolutely essential to finish the game to maximize you're enjoyment, but man. It's gonna get hard to finish. This game is AT LEAST 5 hours too long, the first game works because it tells a simple story, with heavy character buy in, you understand their motives, and that even the unacceptable things you do are essential in some way to the task at hand. For this game, the task at hand is far less motivating. STILL. I LOVE all the side characters, I love Lev, I love Dina, I love Jesse, and i love Tommy, on that front the performances, and animations are great.
    THE GAMEPLAY
    IS HUGELY IMPROVED FROM TLOU 1, it is much more fluid, much more of a game, much more fun, and playful, and will be MORE RE-PLAYABLE. AND THIS COMES AT THE DIRECT EXPENSE OF THE STORY..
    This said, there are 2 mechanics that severely hamper the gameplay, and are not super welcome. You can figure out how to deal with them, but the more time you are willing to spend on each "stage" the better your experience will be, and depending on how you play games, your mileage will vary.
    Shamblers are AWESOME! Very welcome
    New NPC skins, and new sneaky kill- plus dismemberment mechanics are BEAUTIFUL
    BACK TO THE STORY
    It is dark, and depressing for MOST of the game. It is hard, you never feel like you're playing as a good guy. You never feel like you're doing the right thing. If you stop at the wrong time on your first day of playing it MIGHT spoil your WHOLE GAMEPLAY, which shouldn't be able to happen, but in this game it really might. It tells you for 25+ hours that the story is about 1 thing, drawing parallels between the characters of the past game, and drawing new boundaries about what can constitute a protagonist with them still being a "good guy". This all culminates in a terribly misjudged portion of the game which I purposefully failed multiple times where one character hunts another character who you like much much better. And this is PURELY because she's not so charismatic. It would be like if you saw Black Widow in the Avengers killing children, and then they showed you Captain Marvel breaking her arms and you were supposed to root for her. AND THEN in the final 3 hours of the game, it pulls a switcheroo on you and tells you that what it was telling you about was all wrong, it shows you that it was about what it means to lose love, the pain, permanence, and persistence of losing someone you love, that there's no way to return that person to you. You will never be whole again, and it leaves some beautiful homages to the original game which WORK, but you MUST get to the end to get that, through a story that is TOO LONG. It makes sense by the end, but it takes too long to get there. Please just be patient, and it's beautiful. The timing is wrong and part of that is because you can tell the writer was unsure whether he could write this while assuming people played the first game (which is misplaced humility), but by the end it rewrites itself and gives you something worthwhile.
    I will also say, after I finished it, I was totally ready to be done with it and immediately lent it to a friend. But then I haven't been able to go a day without thinking about it, it is stuck in my head, and the way they weave the picture IS masterful. It's not perfect, but it is almost still a masterpiece. It's not as good as the first game, because there's a lot of innocence and youth in the first game. This one is much darker, but it gives you some light in the dark at the end, so please just finish the game, and please be open minded about this story. It is excellent, not perfect, but it is beautiful and excellent. Please play it, please finish it, please think about it

    If you enjoyed the first game, then this is an excellent follow-up. The gameplay is polished to the extreme, and I really do think that it is significantly better all around this time around.

    This is definitely the most memorable Naughty Dog game I have played.

Laying in grass, and avoiding dogs are wonderful additions and allows for multiple styles of gameplay. The weapons bring some of the old ones back while adding a suppressed weapon and the crossbow. Story: the story while it can be hard to stomach some of the choices, it’s easier to understand as you go and while it breaks your heart early, I feel like that semi realistic game we had in the first is brought back in TLOU2 and I’m blessed to have played this game. I keep thinking that a change could’ve been made, but at the end of the day. I think they made the best story possible. I think if they had separated who you played into smaller sections leading up to the end. It would’ve been more to stomach. Plus throwing Joel’s death in so early on was a mistake. I feel like it should’ve been somewhere near the end when Ellie tells Joel that she wants to forgive him. I don’t write games or have any idea how to make a script. This game is great. Something everyone should play and I hope the story doesn’t end there Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I personally enjoyed seeing/playing Abby’s story because it made me realize how surprisingly similar her and Ellie are. It makes me somewhat understand why she killed Joel.(although it’s still rather upsetting that they killed him within 2 hours of gameplay, we haven’t seen this guy in 5 years and he’s dead within the 2nd hour?!). I can see where Naughty dog was trying to go with this and i do think they touched on some important topics in the game as well. I personally enjoyed their sort of nod to the lgbtq+ community with Lev’s storyline. I think it truly showed how some trans people are easily outcasted and shunned from their homes/communities due to things like that. I will say the ending did leave me feeling almost dissatisfied in a way. But in the same breath i think the cycle of revenge and hatred does that to any set of characters, it’s not supposed to be wrapped up in a bow at the end. I think the story telling could have obviously improved in areas but overall i think the storyline makes sense and i can understand why they make Abby such a vital character in the 2nd part. Expand

    In the beginning, I did not like where the story was headed but eventually, I started to like the story. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay was not bad. This game, in my opinion, is not for everybody and is only for players who are willing to spend long hours every day in order to finish it. Overall, one of the best games on the PS4.

    I wasn't expecting to see consequences for my actions in the first installment, and I'm positively surprised with the outcome. It feels more inclusive as well, without feeling performative. In the interactions I saw bits of myself or people I know reflected, which was nice.

    I very much enjoyed the gameplay as well. It kept the things I liked from Part 1 and added some new quality of life improvements.

    Another strength are the plethora of accessibility options. While I don't need any specific accommodations with regards to my gameplay I still found some functions there useful to use. (Stuff like automatically picking up items, for example). This helped improve my fun in playing.

    I would absolutely recommend this game if you're someone who likes a nuanced narrative where your ideas may get challenged. If you prefer a game where you don't want to think about morality and want to shoot at stuff this may not be the game for you, and that's fine too.

    Don't judge the game or the plot by the user reviews, i specifically created a metacritic account to write this review and counter all the review bombing wich is objectively really unfair... All this talk about not respecting the carachters is nonsense : as users we don't get to vote on wichever direction the creators should have taken. People are unhappy about the plot choices but if it were otherwise they would complain on how its too predictable and on how they took no risks... Every gamer needs to try tlo2 because at the end of the day all you can do is appreciate all the work that's been done on this. Thanks to all the devellopers and naughty dog for this unique experience.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a **** piece of art. Im gonna break down why. Naughty dog wasn't afraid to kill Joel, straight away. The is a **** post apocalyptic world game. No one is invincible, and sad as it is Joel had already began to get old. This part gives us more insight and background on the fireflies, and it's **** brutal. I've never been more sad at a game, but that's how life is. The game is hyperrealistic, from game mechanics to telling stories within just found notes. It also is in the way that diversity is properly shownn. I can guarantee you the only people angry about this game a cishet white snowflakes that aren't used to playing a game so diverse. Also, the debate on Abby's appearence is utter **** if you care that much about a video game characters body build you must have some sort of I security issue. The last of us 2 makes some hard decision story wise, and there were some points in the game I questioned whether they were the best decision to make. But I'll stop my rant saying this: life is impulsive and sadistic already. Imagine living in that world. This has got to be the best game I've ever played. And if games like this continue to get made I'm so ready for it Expand

I am not going to spoil it, but trust me, IT IS WORTH IT.

    And I haven’t began with the soundtrack yet. It is perfect for a post-apocalyptic world like this. The songs are so great that you will want to listen to them again and again, reliving the moments of the game.
    The only thing that TLOU2 did not really develop is the side characters. They are there... and they are helpful... but you don’t really care about them that much. One the other hand, however, there is more time for the main characters to develop and it is worth the loss.
    I highly recommend it only after you finished the first part. It is a world perfect for complete immersion of the player.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really I'm giving it an 8.5. 8 just seems too low.

    SPOILERS.

    OK. I'm confused.

    I was fortunate enough to avoid most of the leaks, but two things I did see were A) You play partly as Abby, who's a transsexual villain and B) Joel dies (I didn't see how). For the whole game I was waiting for some big reveal that would show that Abby was transsexual...it never came. One of the main reasons people were so angry about the leaks were that she was trans. Just complete and utter nonsense. The way this game has been review bombed with 0's and 1's and 2's is really weird and honestly embarrassing.

    There are problems with this game, absolutely. Some real problems. But if you're bothered that Abby is muscly...weird. If you're bothered that Ellie is a lesbian...weird. If you're bothered that a side character shaved her head because she wants to look like a boy...weird. Is it fueled with agenda? Sure. Is it pushing boundaries? Absolutely. Should it mean you score it with a 0 out of 10? Absolutely not.

    Starting with the positives...what a GAME this is. I'm no gaming expert so I'm going to struggle to get all the words out correctly. But as a GAME (separate to the storyline), it doesn't get much better. Insane graphics, probably the best I've seen. The fluidity is flawless. Animations are incredible. I personally love the changes in pace between action and taking it easy. Gun play feels very satisfying. Enemy AI is very good (and adjustable). The zombies are scarier then before. The minor details are there. Sound wise it's incredibly eerie and atmospheric. The moment where you first come across the Scars and get hit with the arrow...I jumped out of my seat! The high pitched whistle, the deep throng of petrifying music as you pull the arrow out of your shoulder. Just amazing. I've seen the gameplay be labelled as boring and not worthy of a PS4 title, and I genuinely find those opinions laughable. The gameplay lived up to everything I expected. Such an improvement on part 1 (which you would expect after 7 years). But how about the story?

    This is where I do have problems, and can't help but feel a little disappointed. I'm the biggest fan of part 1...my favourite game of all time. And a huge part of that is down to the incredible story...the connection between Joel and Ellie, the emotion in the cut scenes, every character that was introduced along the way, how the narrative twisted and turned. Just a phenomenal story. I did have a feeling that Joel's decision at the end of part 1 would come back to bite him. But did I think it would bite him like THIS? 2 hours into the game, with no context as to why Abby wanted to do it, after having PLAYED as Abby?! For the record...I have no issue with Joel dying. I don't even have an issue with the way in which he died. It was shocking, powerful. You felt a sense of dread. When the final blow lands and the sound goes to that high pitched screech like you yourself have just suffered a bang to the head. It was very well done. The writers are entitled to take the story how they see fit, and if that means Joel dying, so be it. I'm sad about it, I loved him, I didn't want him to die. But if that's the direction they wanted it to go, OK. Some people in these reviews have been acting like spoilt children. The problem I DO have is A) the fact we had no context as to why it was happening, B) How lucky Abby was to find herself in that situation and C) Not getting to experience the immediate reaction.

    I feel it would have been better for Abby to infiltrate Jackson first. Become a member of the community. We could learn about her back story. We could understand why she wanted to kill Joel. THEN we could switch to Ellie trying to get revenge. Asking the player to be as understanding as what Naughty Dog want is dangerous, and clearly in this case hasn't really worked. And one thing I loved from the first game was the emotion, how it would have me on the verge of tears at times. The scene where Sam dies and Henry turns the gun on himself. The scene where Ellie explains to Joel how everyone she cared about has left her or died. I didn't get any of that from this game. The reaction to Joel's death is rushed. The game seemingly doesn't care about Jesse dying. The flashbacks with Joel and Ellie both could have been more emotional, fleshed out and satisfying. That's my main issue.

    I ended up liking Abby. During the final fight sequence I was pressing buttons I didn't want to press, begging Ellie not to do it. I was glad she didn't. But even the way that came about, Ellie leaving practically a dream life with Dina and the baby behind, seemed silly and forced.

    All in all I think it's an amazing game, slightly let down by a cluttered story, which tries so hard to make you side with a new character. The Last Of Us is Ellie's story. And I really hope they do a part 3 with a stronger narrative and a happy ending for a character we love so much.

Obviously no game comes without its flaws such as one of the characters who I won't name, in general she felt almost put there for it to work at first, but then the game shows as to why she is there, what her goals are and what made her walk down the path she is. I don't want to say too much more because it's difficult to not spoil it, however I would 100% recommend this game and it truly DOES NOT deserve the review bombing or the death threats, people really need to learn that the story of a game can't always go their way and simply that if they don't like it, shut up, grow up and move on.

    Many people complain about the story. Obviously it's not as good as the first 'The Last of Us' but that does not make it a bad story and although it's just 'John Wick' except Joel is the dog, I found the story satisfying and a good enough follow up to the 2013 original. The only parts that really bothered me was Abby's side of the story, not only because I had to play as the woman that killed Joel but because her character is quite inconsistent with her actions and just as you think she's found her humanity through caring for ex-seraphites: Lev and Yara, she shows no hesitation to commit horrible acts not so long after. This problem affects some of the characters from the original but is reasonable as it's realistic that people would be different than they were 6 years ago.
    Story = 6/10
    On the other hand, the audio, visuals and gameplay of 'The Last of Us II' is what makes this game incredible. At some points I didn't know whether a sound was from the game or somewhere in my house, bloody brilliant. The graphics are better than they've ever been, i wish real life looked as good. Some scenes looked as if they were taken straight from a painting backed by some beautiful scores and white noise to immerse you to the fullest extent.
    Graphics and Audio = 10
    The quality of the combat depends on what difficulty you play on, if you play on the easier difficulties it will make for more options when dealing with a group of enemies, with more resources and more predictable enemy paths, but from my experience on Survivor difficulty I saw Ellie transform into Solid Snake having to make every shot count, managing the scarce resources that you have which makes for a harder but more satisfying combat system.
    Apart from the combat 'The Last of Us II' offers some basic puzzles, hundreds of collectibles and some exploration to bridge between the action. This part of the gameplay is not the focus but does not become boring or slow down the pacing of the story.
    Gameplay = 9/10

It get’s better and better throughout playing and it has one of the most intense endscenes of all gaming for me. Music absolutely gorgeous and much darker than the first one. Fyi Mac Quayle from “Mr Robot” worked on the score too along with Gustavo. This sequel is much more creative than the first one in terms of gameplay. The fact alone, that enemies are crying for their shot friends is just terrifying to look at. Dog’s are crying too if you shoot their owner btw.. The only issue that I have with this game are some long passages throughout playing the second half of the game.

    The non-linear telling of this story wasn't really the most instinctive way to go with it,but after digesting it and collect the pieces I felt it really is a poignant story albeit a punishing and soul crushing one
    But anyway the brutal combat and stealth made me feel the fun I had with MGSV,which at least this game had a better story

    The Last of Us 2 is a game that was treated very unfairly based on early story leaks which is extremely sad because so many gamers turned up their nose to it based solely on those leaks. I can affirm this game stays extremely true to the original core gameplay mechanics and the story is very enthralling.

    Gameplay was well executed, but nothing new or original. I did enjoy the beats this game picked up and improved upon from the first. Gone are the weak puzzles, and escort missions. The story is the main center point of this game, and it doesn’t disappoint. A little heavy handed, but very enjoyable.

Tiene una trama sólida y muy bien redactada me gusta que hayan tomado tantos riesgos. It made what he did at the end of Last of us 1 matter even more. Great game, couldn't believe how big it was. My only reservation was having to play against Ellie as a boss. But if a sequel were to happen, this is the only direction I think it could have gone. The story's structure isn't traditional in any sense. It is non-linear and follows multiple timelines that intersect. It is a story about grief, and about finding peace and meaning in life. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I honestly loved the game. There were times where the story got a little hairy but it was able to pull it all together. I liked that I was able to play through the aftermath of what occurred in the first game. See how Ellie reacted when she found out what Joel did and how he lied. It was such a good revenge story for both Ellie and Abby. Surprisingly I gained a bit of sympathy for what occurred to Abby and enjoyed seeing her side of the story. One of my favorite parts of the game was the fight between Abby and Ellie in the theater. It was cool that you were playing as the antagonist instead of the protagonist while fighting against the main "good" guy. The story overall was fantastic as we saw development on both sides. Ellie gained a more brutal personality as the game went on as Abby gained more compassion. The parallel between Abby and Ellie were very pronounced. The last thing I want to touch on is the fact of how diverse the game is with there being a lesbian couple that wasn't over sexualized and the topic of transphobia was shown with what happened to Lev. I would highly recommend this game. Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Despite what everyone says about the game, I genuinely believe that this game is yet another masterpiece from Naughty Dog. This game really forces its audience to do things they don't want to; it forces them to think and ponder some extremely big philosophical questions truly. Yet, like any game, this one is not perfect.

    GAMEPLAY: The Last of Us gave the world a revolutionized gameplay, and this game expands on that gameplay. A significant aspect of the gameplay that caught my eye was the smoothness of it all; the game did not feel clunky or stiff, much like the first one was. As well as that, they added a sort of skill tree system where to get the next perk; you have to buy the one right before it. Unlike most skill trees, this game is really more of a skill column, which did take me a while to get used to, but it grew on me. Now for one of the controversial topics, the gameplay section of Abby. Depending on how you play, this section takes roughly ten hours. This section of the game really makes or breaks the game for a lot of people, the combat becomes slower just because Abby is a more heavyset woman than Ellie. In terms of gameplay, it doesn't change much more.

    STORY: The story is really what turns everyone away from this game. Neil Druckman (the director) definitely expected there to be a lot of backlash and hate for the product he and thousands of other created. It wasn't fan service and believe it or not that angered so many people, hence why the user score is so low. The number one thing people had an issue with is how they killed off Joel, I'll admit it it is a really tough plot point, but this is the story that is created, it is sad but what is wrong with it? Characters die, especially in a world like this, in fact, I appreciate that they killed Joel because they went for a challenging story that would test anyone who played. After Joel is killed the story continues with Ellie going to Seattle with Dina (Ellie's partner). This area of the game is filled with a lot of small beautiful moments surrounded by an overwhelming atmosphere of anger and dread, this continues until you get to Abby's section of the game. By this point, you know that Abby is the one who killed Joel so rightfully no one really wants to play as Abby. While this may be the case for many, I implore whoever reads this to just continue with an open mind. Abby is a beautiful character with a life very similar to Ellie's. Joel did a lot of bad things to Abby and her world around her, things that would make anyone go mad with anger and revenge. This section is so vital to the game and I believe is what really makes it the masterpiece that it is. There are some aspects of the story I would change but they are not major plot issues, I just would've loved more from Ellie and the new people in her life.

    All I have to say about the graphics is that they are fantastic, I have zero complaints.

    Overall I'd give the gameplay a 10/10 and the story an 8/10. This game is now one of my favorites of all time and I will never regret the money nor time i Have spent on this game. I am a very proud fan of this series and the messages that come with it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics, audio design, music, voice acting, character design, set design, and atmosphere were all absolutely superb. Which is one reason I find anyone giving the game a 0/10 rating to be absolutely asinine. Even if the story WAS complete garbage as they claim, everything mentioned above warrants at LEAST a 5 or 6 out of 10. But people angry that the story didn't go the way they wanted conveniently ignore all that went right with this game to spew their vitriol. Naughty Dog took mighty risks telling this story and while I don't believe it is quite as good as its predecessor, those were some awfully large shoes to fill. I think the emotional impact alone is enough to compel me to give this game an excellent score, but the story itself is also executed amazingly well, especially on a second go round of the game when you can take in more of the environment instead of rushing through to find out what happens. And therein lies the one real issue I have with the game, which is the pacing. It was going to be tricky no matter what to get the pacing just right with the story they wanted to tell but a few tweaks here and there would have greatly benefited the game's flow, I believe. Still, I know it must have been difficult to decide on the order of events and I'm sure they took a painstaking amount of time trying to decide so I do give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure they tried other ways and orders of events but it maybe didn't have the same emotional impact. Overall, it's a great game that really challenges preconceived notions of what a video game should be and tells a story worth telling. I love Ellie dearly and being placed in her shoes was a harrowing, emotionally devastating journey. And although I don't believe what Abby did was right, I come to understand that a person should not be known only by their worst mistake but also by their ability to grow from there and change for the better. This isn't simply a game about revenge but also about forgiveness (no, not Ellie forgiving Abby, but Ellie forgiving JOEL) and redemption. I hope that we get another game despite the backlash - one where we can see the conclusion of Ellie's story and her finding meaning and purpose in her life once more. She deserves the chance to become better, just as Abby was able to. Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is a beautiful, complex experience. Overall, the story is great, but there are some moments where the writing is "convenient" for the story. However, I do not feel that the few lapses in writing take away from the story or user experience. The story itself is a beautiful and terrifying portrayal of PTSD, revenge, and growing up. There are tangible consequences to the characters' actions. It makes you question why you're helping these characters, as their drives for revenge and justice visibly tear apart their relationships. At times, it's almost like watching a family member struggle with their mental health, except you have to act as the person struggling. In terms of gameplay, the game works really well. My only complaint would be that there is a delay between selecting an item or weapon and being able to use it. I can deal with the texture popping, though it can get distracting at times, especially after you scope out of a weapon or come around a corner quickly. Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A difficult game to go through, I will admit. I was just angry and terribly sad with the early death of Joel, really wish we could have seen more of him before he go. But, I think that's exactly the point of the whole experience. He's out so quickly that you, along Ellie, is mourning him pretty much at the same time, through the entire game. Losing someone is never easy, it's never the right time either. In games, they usually do death that feels like the circle is, or almost, complete. Therefore, you feel less **** about it, or you are left with a nostalgic feeling. But like I said, in real life, it's never the right time, and that's exactly what The Last of Us made me feel about Joel's death. A real death, too soon, plainly painful to think about, like they truly do in real life.
    I recommend strongly. It's an amazing game. *Excuse my poor English*

The story can be hard to digest, no question about that, but within the context of the game & the world built in the first game, over the 36 hours it took me to finish it (tried to find all collectables) there was nothing story-wise that felt out of place or forced.

    Personally I loved the game, it was visually beautiful, well acted by old & new characters, the music & sound design fantastic and mechanically it felt like an evolution of the original game but added a lot (including hand to hand combat that was greatly improved). And performance was solid throughout.
    But reading this you likely just want to know about the story, and why there is so much anger about it. One point of contention, gender and LGBTQ representation; you have a main character, a young woman that is a lesbian (revealed in DLC of the original game) and the main antagonist is also a woman, who has "masculine" physique. So while obviously not all, but some of the hate is certainly based on and directed towards those aspects. Not something that felt at all "heavy handed" to me, but for many that alone was enough. But it was what happened to the 2 characters from the original game, that I think brought out most of the anger. All I can say is, that while it's undeniably difficult to watch some of the scenes that were leaked, within the context of the game and this brutal world, it did not feel poorly written or out of place. In fact, I think the writing in the 2nd game is much more interesting and complex, and compared to the original game that is high praise.

    My only real complaint would be the length of the game, about double of the first. But even that in the context of Ellie's journey, the game length itself added to the themes explored. Both games often made me feel very tense during gameplay, with limited resources fights can often seem incredibly tough. But in the 2nd game, even cutscenes were tense as it felt like characters, even main ones could die at any point.
    I'll leave you with this, the fact that so many people are still writing 0/10 reviews on metacritic, that it has stirred up this kind of anger, that alone should interest you, as should any work that is polarising. You may not like the game, how it plays, the story etc. but in their campaign against it, those that hate the game & continue to post on any news article, any written work about it, any video, they are inadvertently continuing the conversation. And for me it is a game worth playing and certainly one worth talking about. People complain that games are getting boring, homogeneous. That certainly can't be said of 'The Last of Us Part 2', risks were taken and in my opinion paid off.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the most immersive games I’ve ever played. Everyone complains about the narrative shift but it adds so much to the story. I hated Abby for what she did and yet somehow the game managed to slowly convince me that she’s not a horrific person. I still couldn’t fully forgive her for what happened but that’s the whole concept of Ellie’s story ark! Druckmann said that not all people would be happy with this game. I was one of those people but by the time the credits rolled I was sat there still trying to fathom what sort of experience I had just gone through. I think In this modern era of video games that is something we should be applauding and not scrutinising just because of meaningless arguments over; transgender representations, lesbianism, plot holes and most notably the ending.

    At the end of the day naughty dog took a real risk and a lot of people didn’t like it. Myself, I’m not sure if I’m 100% happy but I really really enjoyed playing it and would recommend the experience to others!

    An amazing sequel that gets more hate then it deserves. While the story isn't as good as its predecessor, the combat is better. Playing as Abby was actually an amazing experience.

    I highly recommend this game and its certainly a contender for game of the year.

Expand

    Anyone who loved the first game and isnt an insecure d**k will love this too. Those giving under 5 should be ashamed of themselves and take time to sit down and think about what kind of person they are. If you dont agree with the politics, the size of Abby's arms (jesus christ) etc you have to give it at least 5 for the game play itself.

    Everything in this game is just beautiful and memorable, the level, game and character design, the expressions, the music and the scenes are beautifully written. It's clear that Naughty Dog put all the love for this project and it's a perfect sequel, probably one of the best so far. I want to give 9/10 only because the final part of the game is a little bit longer than necessary.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I began the game angry with Joel's death, but I feel like I followed Ellie's journey to avenge him, and finally mourn him in the end. It was bittersweet ending for me, but the game kept me hooked with its exciting action scenes, and compelling story. And even though I spent the entire game looking forward to killing Abby, I ended up at the same mindset as Ellie: it wouldn't bring him back. An amazing series that deserves more praise than it has gotten from the fans. Expand

    I love the story, and though we all know what happens to Joel, I empathize with Abby! Naughtydog is playing with Players feelings, but in a good way.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I pretty much enjoyed the game; the graphics, attention to detail, interesting new side characters, and delving back into the shoes of Ellie four years after the first game. Like most games, this had its flaws. Admittedly, I think Joel's death could've been further into the game but what they did with it is fine by me. I think you'd have to know what grief and going through it is actually like to really understand what Ellie was thinking and feeling at the time when she was in Seattle then later on in the ending.

    Most of the reviews here stating it's s*** were posted only 2hrs after the release of the game. When they saw how and when Joel died, they immediately thought the rest of the game is going to be s*** especially when/if they read the spoilers as well. I think that's unfair since they didn't even give it a chance to begin with. And some of them only watched it on YouTube and didn't actually played it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game visual experience is more than gorgeous.
    It feels like you are playing a movie and you will notice they really tried getting the most out of the PS4 hardware.

    The gameplay is solid and the story is true to the nature of storytelling in the first part (little more mature and harsh because Ellie is older).
    On a rare occasion it felt repetitive.
    Some reviews state that it is a bad story because the killing and emotions of abby don't add up.
    If that is the case you can say the same about Joel, he killed a-lot of innocent people and more people loved part 1 of the game serie.

    You will hate Abby in some part of the game, thats for sure.
    But after some time playing Abby you will be compassionate about her too.
    They did a good job with psychology behind that.
    It felt like an emotional rollercoaster and i was switches sides multiple times as the game progressed.

    The end is devastating and perfect at the same time.
    Ellie made the chose to let hatred rule her life instead of love and it gave her nothing but pain.
    In the end she comes home to find out her lover and foster-child is gone and she cant play the guitar (Joel taught her how to play) anymore because of her missing fingers.
    She leaves the house and the guitar behind where the guitar is symbolic to Joel.

I know people are disappointed in the writing, but it’s great to see chances being taken and the good guys not always winning. It’s more of a personal issue people are having imo. Expand

    It's beautiful, when you watch the game it's like real life (almost).
    The story is beautiful, I cried with the death of Joel,
    But it doesn't make any sense that you hate the game for that. The meaning of the game is like the meaning of other games, but in the whole **** game it's saying "When people die, the world doesn't stop" sounds sad, but it's true. If you want to see gore, this

    If you want to see gore, this is your game.
    The game tries to say "hey maybe Joel was a bad person",
    the perspective changes depending on the person.

    Ellie = Abby's perspective is bad.
    Abby = Joel's perspective is the bad guy.

    If you say that Ellie is a lesbian by inclusion, you are wrong, Ellie has been a lesbian since 2013. It is not new.

    I miss Joel, but Ellie is also a good character.

    The gameplay is very good, sometimes it is boring, when you fight it is beautiful.

    The last of us (both games) don't have a good ending, those endings are very sad.

    The game touches on these five things: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

    We are like Tommy, but Tommy does not accept Joel's death, he did not forgive, he did not change in the story, he wants revenge, but the goal of the game is to forgive.

    Graphics = 10/10
    History = 10/10
    Gameplay = 8/10
    Innovations = 9/10
    Conclusion = 9.25.

    This is my opinion.

The graphics, the animation, the mechanics, everything was awesome, the story at the beginning is frustrating but while you are playing you get more and more and more excited, but it stop when you take the control of Abby, i understand the message of the game that was, no one is safe, no one has an heroic end, everybody can die at any time, and the developing of Ellie of her decisions and her thirst of revenge while you start understanding the past of Abby, and when Ellie loses everything, God, you start to reflect with yourself, it's just, Wow, there are other things that are good and bad, but honestly if you start to think clearly what you've just played, is a masterpiece, Please if you read this, take a moment to think about it and review this game what it deserves, thanks and nice done Naughty Dog Expand

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
