Please ignore the review bombers. If TLOU 2 isn't a 'good' game then I really don't know what a good game is. I do understand *some* of the hate, even though I think a very small amount of it comes from people who have actually played through the game.

Please ignore the review bombers. If TLOU 2 isn't a 'good' game then I really don't know what a good game is. I do understand *some* of the hate, even though I think a very small amount of it comes from people who have actually played through the game.

The story skips back and forth a lot, to the point where the end product feels a little jumbled. And the pacing in the first half isn't great, I was starting to get a little bored before the story dramatically changes gears. And while I don't particularly agree with the notion that the game didn't add enough onto the first game mechanics wise, I can understand that some people may have been wanting more new upgrades and weapons then they got. For the most part the game sticks with the same upgrades that were introduced in the first game.

But simply put, I can't think of many revenge stories better told than this one is. Certainly one has never taken advantage of a video game as a storytelling device more effectively. In its opening hours, the game gives you incredibly strong motivation to hunt and hurt the villians of the story. Over the course of this 30ish hour game however, the lust for revenge and violence ebbs away as you become emotionally invested in the people that are dotted throughout a story, and you see how much this journey takes from the people undertaking it. More harrowingly, Naughty Dog continually build the people in this journey up as likeable, human characters, and then tear them away from you in normally senseless and brutal ways; that's the world this game is set in.

People who say this story sucks might have missed the point of the first game, or simply take issue with the more progressive plot points in the game whether they realise it or not. But every moment in this game is so carefully crafted to lend itself to the story, and the acting and animation of everyone in both the cutscenes and the gameplay is beyond incredible. The small comments characters make to themselves or each other which normally mirror what you're thinking continually align yourself with who you're playing as. The high level of quality over everything is so much more than just gud graphics. It's the work of a studio completely devoted to creating an experience where every encounter adds more onto your understanding of these characters as people.

This game should make you incredibly uncomfortable, which I think is the strongest valid reason to not enjoy it. But it should make you feel uncomfortable because you're a human being, and it's hard to watch what these human beings are capable of doing to each other. For that and all the reasons above, is why I think this game has been an incredible way to cap off this console generation. The controversy will die down as people find other things to complain about, but this game is going to be long remembered as the incredible technical and creative feat that it is.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In my opinion, its bad. In TLOU1 Joel doesn’t trust anybody and doesn’t give out his name to most people, in TLOU2 he trusts everyone and he doesn't act like his original character. Then lets talk about the ending. Ellie goes on a massive killing spree only for Ellie to spare Abby. And I hate how Abby says Lev isn’t “apart of this” nor was Tommy and she intentionally tried to kill Tommy by shooting him in the head. Jesse wasn’t in it either. Bad game, Trash sequel. Expand

I have waited seven years for this master class narrative and it truly delivered. Neil Druckmann has once again crafted a superb art that will be praised for generations. Last of us part 2 includes an engaging experience with many moments that twist the plot for the better. Last of us part 2 stands higher than majority of the games in the last seven years.

No final, The Last Of Us Part 2 é uma obra incrível.

Political agendas pushed in any media will always ruin that form of media, every time without fail and TLOS2 is not an exception just because the first game was so awesome
first half of the game is decent enough because at least your Ellie going after Joel's killers but then you get thrown into a crap story playing as the person who kills Joel, HORRIBLE writing.
and the icing on the cake is that SJW's need to push their agenda and have multiple trans in the game when they are there so they can feel better about themselves, if it actually added to the story or gameplay then it could be acceptable.
NaughtyDog is going down a dangerous path and wont be surprised when they go bankrupt 99% of people stop playing their games just so they dont have to have agendas pushed down their damn throat

The Last of Us Part 2 was missing some key things in the story, which in my opinion was the misleading advertising. Shouldn’t have been done. This is shown in the bond between Joel and Ellie. We see Joel slowly come to view her as a daughter, and Ellie eventually sees him as a father. The bleak journey they take to get to that point is worth it, because it forges a strong and believable connection that we all root for. Even at game's end, when questionable decisions are made, they are based upon that connection. The tragic ending makes us wonder how their relationship will be tested by the consequences, and what these two will do together in the future. We are still rooting for them!

Sadly, The Last of Us Part II makes it clear very early on that it is done with the Joel/Ellie dynamic, at least in any positive or meaningful way. In its place, we are given a revenge mission with no chance of redemption. Unlike in Part I, there is no one to root for in this game. Our heroine is stripped of all likability, transformed into a rage-fueled murderer, occasionally breaking up the bloodlust with depression. Several new characters are introduced, but not given enough backstory or development for us to care about them, either. We are left with a collection of broken murderers who have lost nearly all positive personal connection in their lives. It's as if all the progress anyone made in Part I is completely reversed. Oddly enough, it seems that this sense of bleak hopelessness is somehow the point, as it is reinforced by a very unfulfilling conclusion. There is no reason for the journey, no 'ends to justify the means'. All that's left is a profound sense of loss for what could have been. This may be an okay concept for a 2hr film, but playing through hours and hours of it - paying to play it - feels torturous. Not to mention how much of a tonal shift it is for fans of the previous game; you'll probably enjoy this game more if you know very little of Part I. Of course, the acting, music, animation, sound design, etc. are all top tier, maybe the best ever in gaming. That's not an exaggeration, and it's the only reason I can't give this game any less than a 3. But this makes the storyline feel so much more disappointing. You can see how this team had all the talent/tools they needed to make an amazing game, but the soul was completely sucked out of it. What's left is a gilded vessel - pretty to look at, but ultimately, empty.

I rated this game just above average cause it has some good tho HD going for it like the graphics the sound music acting game mechanics the worlds the art design and the hand to hand combat the new infected creatures are a nice thing. My issue with the game is the direction they took with it as the game went along I found my self getting less interested and that’s a shame cause usually it goes the other way. Being forced to play as Abby didn’t help I just kept saying to myself I don’t care can we just get back to Ellie. The pacing is also off there are kinks of this game were I was just like let’s move this along but I get it they want you to scavenge for supply’s and go slow with stealth. I knew they would kill Joel off I just thought he’d get a better send off and maybe we could play his death instead of it being a cutscene we play as Joel up until he dies then we play as Ellie it’s just a thought I had. Over all the games not trash it’s really well done with the graphics and level designs just the story not so good. Expand

I have never seen movie or played the game that would stay in my mind for such long time. I feel the same way about this game and as for me it is also a great game, I enjoyed gameplay as it was realy pleasing and I enojyed the plot because i like when i have mixed feelings about ending of game and TLOU2 left me with that kind of feelings but I also get why people hate it for that reason. It is realy confusing and unsatisfying, as for me the story wasn't told badly but again I get why people say that. I think that most peolpe hated the same thing as I did. The part when you play as Abby is so fu****. I begged god to make it stop, I didn't enjoy it because I hated that character for obvious reason but after all I think it was necessary to put in the story BUT not in the game. If it was for me to decide what to do with it, I would say to cut it off and make it into DLC. I think that only then peolpe would rate the game on 8 and DLC on 5. I don't agree with people rating the game at level of 3 as it's too low but I agree with rating of 5-7 because I get why it is mediocare. As for me it is great game and I am so happy that I finally got to play it and I still hope that we will see the last of us part 3 as the next naughty dog game. Expand

I have an unpopular opinion - The ending of the TLOU1 is the saving grace of the entire original game.
i did not love replaying the game recently and i had to drag myself through it. However the final moments in the original left me with enough ambiguity and gray morality to leave me thinking of it for days after.
To me, i knew that Joel had done an objectively wrong, yet understandably human thing.
This provided a platform for debate for me and my friend as we had our own opinions on Joel's actions.
This leads me to the second game - The story hones in on this moment, exploring the fallout of these actions.
To me, (as someone who avoided the leaks) i still knew or at least suspected what had caused the inciting event for this game.
The fact that the entire story revolves around the choices Joel had made was an incredibly respectful way to treat the character- at least to me.
You spend time with Joel across the story in various ways - flashbacks gameplay sequences filling you in on the four year jump between the original and Part 2.
Meanwhile, you follow two separate & intertwined stories with differing perspectives in the present day - one belonging to Ellie and the other focusing on a new character to TLOU Part II.

I wont wax eloquent about the story.
Simply put, i loved it more than the original.
It managed to stir emotion in me that games rarely achieve.
It wont be for everyone - not everyone has the stomach for it nor will they like some of the risks taken by the story.
Much like the original, the overarching story is incredibly basic, filled with cliches and tropes galore.
TLOU has never been about this. It has always been about character moments.

This is where Part II knocks it out of the park.

Gameplay - i wont go into it too much here because i don't feel like this is being unfairly railed on the internet, but suffice to say, as someone who hated the gameplay of the original this game is so much better to the point i actually enjoy the moment to moment. still lots of scavenging but interspersed with frequent (newly improved and dynamic) combat and dialogue,

I would give this game an 8 or 9 out of 10, however i can see a million trash reviews with a 0 score, (which this game definitely is not, regardless of how butt-hurt you are about the story) so i'm giving it a 10 to try balance the scale a bit.

On the contrary of the majority of reviews I’m not mad about Joel dying, since the trailers were released it was obvious that something was gonna happen to him, and that Ellie was going to be moved by that. That’s the whole point of the story, Ellie’s revenge. Both story lines present two human characters who have suffered from the loss of an important person, the story forces you to feel emphatic about both girls and understand that they are antagonists, one will fight the other. The story made me feel nostalgic, terrified, angry... and that end seems perfect to me. Ellie realizing that revenge consumed her, and forgiving Joel. When trying to “change the world” maybe make sure you’re not actually setting the movement back. This was a game where you cared and loved the main characters, not a Game of Thrones book. Stop spoon feeding your audience B.S and they will respect your future games and stories. Try to make your game a life lesson and soon you have less games being sold. Graphics are great, story and script are ridiculous. This developer used to be good and cared about feedback. Not hate speech but honest feedback. Not anymore. Expand

I have never rated anything on here but I had to boost this score. It is unworthy of any hate. This is just as good as the first game! So what Joel dies its a prefect catalyst for Ellie’s character arch and development. Its so unfair for this to be rated so low because of a bunch of neckbeards can’t relate to a woman. Great work Naughty dog I’ll buy the next one if that comes out! Perfect game!!! Expand

Story is ok, no more no less
Big improvement in gameplay since TLOU1
For me the game felt a bit long, specially playing on the hardest difficulty. It didn't had a good pace between gameplay and story-telling, some parts I just wanted to skip or just finish asap to see the rest of the story. 95 score seems too much, idk if it was based on the critic's hype or whatever the reason but it

And to finish this review I'd like to say that story wise it could've gone better. We all know Halley and Neil's potentials (TLOU1 and Westworld speaks for themselves), and at the end we feel that our journey through TLOU2 didn't worth the long wait, that is missing something to really achieve the "Perfect Game" status with 100 score or near that.

CORRECTION Most of the fans of the original game are not going to like this game. The story is slow and boring, the characters are awkward around each other, they kill off most of the good characters... Joel and Jessie and replace them with characters that no one cares about... Abby and Owen. After Abby kills Joel they try to show us her past like we give a f*ck. And the whole plot of the game, a revenge story is not even met BECAUSE ELLIE DOESN'T EVEN KILL ABBY. Also like Tyler said, Joel deserved so much better. Ellie and Joel come across a Bloater, ambush, armored truck, Joel gets impaled, David the pedo, and an army of Fireflies. To think that after all Ellie and him went through for him to die to a golf club. We might as well forget about this game because the one made seven years ago is still way better. On the bright side tho the music, graphics, and acting is really good. Expand

The only problem with this game is the long cinematic videos. The story is a story full of emotions and it’s intense. In my opinion, this story helps to understand how to be a good person in moments of crisis, to know that vengeance, selfishness and carrying hate is a bad thing.

It's a good experience, but his story lacks originality and development of characters, it has a lot of options for you to play it including Audio, control and difficulty, it has a lot of replayability due to his challenge mode and New game+ also his work of art and music is flawless representing a death but yet so alive world

Great gameplay, terrible history. Regardless of the death of one of the best characters in the game, the ending leaves a lot to be desired. I would not recommend the plot, it seems that it was written by a person who hates the original game, very bad development of Ellie's character. On the other hand the character of Abby very "chetado" seems a superhero instead of a human.

This is a true masterpiece in story telling and and world design. When we watch something like G.O.T or Breaking Bad we remember the ending and the journey that took us there. The last of us part 2 still has me thinking about the powerful ending and the journey starting from the last of us 1 that led me there. The questionable decisions the characters are forced to partake in and the consequences for their actions will forever be engraved in my memory and I don't plan on losing those memories for the rest of my life. This game is no longer just a game that I was personally more hyped for than anything (including cyberpunk), this is now a part of my life, a part of my history and it feels like a piece of me is missing whenever I finish and have to realise this may be the last we see of Ellies journey, our journey together. We are used to killing so many enemies time and time and it has been so long since I actually felt bad for doing it. Damn even the ending was a crazy hell of a roller coaster. Obviously Abby's story was not that emotionally catching, but hey she just appeared on this game so the attachment to her character was not that deep, and she barely had her portion of game compared to Ellie's.
If you haven't played it and just went into the hate wagon just go cry somewhere else and come back once you've completed the story, this game was a masterpiece for me and on my way to platinum the sh*t out of it.
The gameplay was somewhat improved from the original, but the formula was great on the first one so obviously it was going to stay as true to TLOU as possible. The crafting and skill tree was amazing and finding resource felt so much scarce that what I remember from the first one.
The way they definitely handled the jumpscares was amazing and I did jump in more than one occasion, specially the way the stalkers are implemented. Damn the first encounter gave me the creeps.
I also don't understand WTF is up with the whole Ellie's lesbian hate, if you played the first one DLC you should have known this by now.
Now the details on this ame were next level, the whole rope physics, the characters, enemies, environment, music, Holy F*ck was the amount of detail put on the game was crazy.
Anyway my game for this console generation is this one
I kept getting this small jump scares and the stalker zombies

A deep and thoughtful game that left me thinking for days about the gravity of the themes and ideas that underpin the story. Truly an exceptional example of context and empathy to very human problems stretched to extremes. It also looks and sounds incredible. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is nothing short of a masterpiece. From its brutal story to its very complex themes of hate, revenge and redemption. After ending my first playthrough at about 25 hours, I was emotionally tired this game knows how to play with your emotions better than most movies. Also the games representation of LGBT themes is very good to see! It deals with them in emotional but thoughtful ways that adds a lot of depth to the characters! The game play itself has improved a great deal on the first game. Stealth is harder, upclose combat it way more complex. And this game looks stunning! I found myself taking ages walking through the ruins of seatle just to take in the view. For the people who are review bombing this game, its clear to me they have either not finished or even played the game or they simply do not understand the complex and deep nature of the plot! This game starts off as Ellie going on a helbent mission to avenge Joel's death and as a player you are behind her 100% but then at the halfway mark you find you self in Abbys shoes and it turns everything on its head. You see things from her perspective, her motives and the pain she has also been through. Thus casting the "villan" in a different light. So when you eventually come to the final confrontation you are genuinely torn as to who you are backing. The main theme here is two wrongs don't make a right as you watch two characters helbent on revenge have every single ounce of their humanity tested, fighting for love. It is genuinely amazing to me that this game achives the amount of character development it does. Every character goes through so much in this game its painful to watch in some parts! So when you see the same story from two sides and are still not be able to make up your mind, who is right and who is wrong its tough! All the same bloody brilliant story telling! Naughty dog knocked it out of the park with this game. Its a roller coaster of emotions and a absolute thrilling ride! And as an avid gamer this is one of my favourite games of all time! So my advice don't listen to the bad reviews... go out there and play it for yourself! And make up your own mind! Expand

As much as the story isn't the greatest in my opinion, the graphics, scenery and combat is amazing. I'll be giving this game a rating of 7/10 because of the three things I think that are great about the game and not the story. I seriously can't rap my head round the fact that Joel died a brutal death and how quickly he died. He deserved a way better death and later in the game. Let's also not forget about the ending. Ellie tracks down Abby to go KILL HER and decides to let her live? Like wtf. The whole point of the game was Ellie seeking revenge for the death of Joel and she chooses to let her live? The story really doesn't make sense. She should've just stayed with Dina if she was going to let her live then. People have their opinions about the game and this is mine. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a person who loves the naughty dog studio ever since uncharted 2 came out. Then have been waiting for every game they release and finishing all the uncharted games multiple times. Then playing the last of us while blindingly trusting that the story is gonna be really good based on the other games, it got even more impressed when i finished it, i was in love with the story and the relationship between Ellie and Joel. I finished the game over 5 times and i couldn't explain the amount of excitement i had for Part 2. Having finished the second gamed, i am terribly disappointed with how the story went. I had no problem with killing of main characters in any project as long it has a meaning to it and is done properly not just for shock value. But killing of the main protagonist in the first hour of the game not only decreases the amount of interest i had for the rest of the story, but also making me feel like the character that i grow up loving feel like such a side character for the way he was killed of. Joel in the first game was known to be such a bad ass character that was careful with every move he make in this post-apocalyptic world which made us look to him as not only a father figure but as a more bad ass john wick. So making him die like that did give his arc in the game justice. I was okay with the rest of the story until the point they make you play as Abby. whatever her reason was for killing Joel i would've never liked her or emphasized with her having killed my favourite character in the beginning of the game. But what makes it more stupid is that they make her father a random nbc from the first game that you could've literally killed in various ways.
forcing me to liking her by making the player go through a really uninteresting story involving two kids is just gonna make me hate the story even more.
As for the ending i don't have a problem with having Ellie living a happy life in a family and leaving Abby alone. But making Ellie go through all of this just to spare her life at the last second was just stupid and was just stretching the story. Making Ellie kill all those characters just to spare the one responsible for Joel's death is just really stupid. The only thing that makes this game playable is the great graphics and the nearly perfect gameplay and clever scenarios where you feel really challenged as a player.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think this is a truly unique sequel, great standalone game, and an amazing franchise. Depending on whether there's a 3rd game and how good it is I would consider it a masterpiece overall.

Part II setup a rich and complex story, a well-crafted environment and world, and an action-packed game that I've never seen done with such creativity in a video game.
To address some of the bad critics that I saw :
    1) Even though Joel is clearly a kind person overall and the hero of the first story, his death was to be expected because he killed good people. But he did it only because Ellie was going to be murdered without asking for both her and his consent, because he could not watch a second daughter figure die and because the armed groups like the Fireflies are far from trustworthy.
    2) Abby is also a good person overall but in this lawless time, justice is done out of personal revenge instead of an independent jury. Because of her father's death and loss of the dream of a cure for Cordyceps, she (and to a lesser degree her friends too) was blinded with hatred and revenge.
    3) The game doesn't present Abby enough early on to let the player identify with her because the goal is for the player to fully identify with Ellie's revenge feelings at the moment her friend gets tortured to death. This desire for revenge is the key to the story
    4) Abby and her friends may not appear very likable but the reason the story follows them is to show that they are not bloodthirsty monsters, on the contrary, they are far more empathetic than the rest of the armed groups like the WLF or the Seraphites.
    5) When Abby and Ellie fight, they are both going down the wrong path which is why the favorite one, Ellie is in the position of the "bad guy". And Abby is about to take another step in the right direction by sparing their lives.
    6) We finally get a moment of peace and hope at the farm, we then experience Ellie leaving her lover Dina to finish the revenge. At this point, Ellie hasn't seen Abby's life as the player has, but she has been scarred by previous experiences of mistrust, revenge, and violence across both stories. Even though she killed all Abby's friends she might not know what they represented to her and she still feels that Abby came out on top, unpunished, and threatening. And she makes the wrong decision to leave and chase her revenge again, which will cost her everything.
    7) When Ellie finally beats Abby in the water as she strangles her, she finally has a grip on what she wanted more than anything. Luckily for her, Abby went through torture and redemption, she is now weakened and loses the fight. At this point, Ellie takes control and remembers that Joel wouldn't want her to live for revenge especially since Abby had shown a better moral path previously.

My interpretation is that there are two diseases that plague the world of TLOU, the infected humans attacking humans and this has pushed society to hunt each other where humans constantly fear and even kill each other. Ellie represented the biological cure in Part I and at the end of Part II, she can represent the emotional cure.

This is not a joyless and fully uncomfortable experience that reviews on both sides of the rating spectrum have described it as. Yes, it has a considerably darker and grimmer tone and the characters are put through an emotional ringer, but what makes a story enjoyable is not necessarily likability and audience comfort, but a compelling narrative that is investing and thoughtful. A film like Logan (which many fans have compared to the first game), is also equally harrowing and heartbreaking but I find it very difficult to say the best Wolverine film is somehow not enjoyable or pointless to watch because it'll make the viewer feel sad. Both Logan and The Last of Us were praised for not only being exciting but also presenting a darker tone that challenged their audiences to see the action genre with more thought-provoking themes on human nature instead of simply violence or triumph over opposition. So it surprises me that The Last of Us Part II has been hated for continuing these same strengths but with greater stride.

The Last of Us Part II is expertly written and performed, challenges the characters in new ways, and makes the story world feel even bigger and more complex than before. It is not a complete departure from the first game, as impactful decisions made in the first game lead effortlessly into greater consequences in the sequel. It even includes some standout flashback sequences that beautifully stitch the two games together. The biggest controversy surrounding this game is its unconventional choice of dual protagonists. People have been very polarized by the choices made here, but I feel this decision only highlights what makes this game so thoughtfully constructed. This franchise has never been a direct explanation of right from wrong. Or about characters getting what they want or deserve. It depicts its characters with all the messiness and flaws that come with being human. The way these new storylines converge is so subtle yet powerful, giving extra weight to an already engrossing narrative. Characters initially seen as enemies or an objective are suddenly well-rounded characters with their own desires. A story that was jumpstarted by hate and revenge grows into the desire to learn empathy and forgiveness. Themes that are not too foreign for this franchise to explore, given that Abby and Lev's story is a clear and touching parallel to Joel and Ellie's in the first game. This is one of the few narratives I've experienced that felt integral to the medium of videogames, because a movie or tv show could not have so immersively let me live through both characters in such a way.

And speaking of the game's mechanics, The Last of Us Part II is a powerhouse of gameplay and graphics. Instead of repeating the same grey color palettes seen in every post-apocalypse, the game dives into so many different eye-popping colors per location. Undoubtedly worthy of its photo-mode inclusion. The motion capture performances are as phenomenal and impressive as something you would see in a high-budget movie. The combat is gripping, with countless ways to approach each scenario, spacially and by play-style. Exploration feels deeper and more rewarding; not starved for resources, but not populated enough to make you feel invincible. In the first game, I had fun with the gunplay but was mainly excited to get to the next cutscene. Here, they each became highlights of their own regard.

I really do think that as time passes and people forget about the leaks and controversy surrounding it, more and more people will open up to this game or discover it for themselves. It's unfortunately just not for everyone, but I'm glad its creators have stood by it and are rightfully proud of their work. Their efforts were not lost by me, and I'll be thinking about this game for a very long time.

Amazing graphics, sound design, music, acting
Less of those repetitive environmental puzzles
A combat system which is well-polished (but don't expect it to be very deep or varied)
A risky story which is not for everyone, but personally, I loved it
    Another masterpiece by ND imo

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok, here it goes. First the good points:
    - Memories chapters. Specially the one in the museum, my favourite moment of the game by far.
    - Music: Again, Gustavo Santaolalla and hiw crew made an amazing job. And if you ever played, have or simply likes guitars, you will enjoy each moment in which they play them.
    - Graphics: For me, along RDR2 and Uncharted 4, this game has probably the best graphics I've seen in PS4. The lights, the atmosphere, practically everything in Seattle...I have more a dozen of captures.
-Gameplay: Okay, this is a tough one. I know that there's a lot of people who didn't like how the stealth works, many that got annoyed by the cranky shooting system and that's not realistic, in a game where everything feels VERY raw and real, how the IA patrols. 'Bout the first two I will say just one thing: Didn't you play the first game? Stealth got actually much tougher, the clickers now can detect you even if you're not moving on the ground. And while in the first game I just cleared out every room and building from enemies, in here, specially in the last chapters, I went through huge areas just killing two or three guys as much so I wouldn't engage a fight that would consume everything I've. No complains about the guns: Just put pills into the right skill tree and your parts in the stability or precision stuff. Will get much, much better...Oh, and the skill to hold your breath.
Just to finish with the Gameplay: Melee combat was brutal, dogs are actually a big threat, not by themselves, but..well if you play, you probably noticed by now. The only "bad" points I'll give to gameplay goes directly as a comparison to the previous game. I miss the nail bomb and the Molotov's Cocktail got nerfed. They're much weak. Which I understand, because in TLOU were awesome, but there's a lack of consistence that doesn't make too much sense to me.
Stuff I would've wanted in TLOU Part II: Having both holsters from the begining. Didn't make sense at all to don't have them, for both characters. One lives in a place where for sure can make them for her, and the other has military supplies.
Having the bow from the beginning. Having to go such a big part of the game without the bow is annoying and stupid.
A gun with silencer: Dude, when I got it finally in Santa Barbara I was so happy. For people who doesn't know, guns with silencers use different ammunition: subsonic one. It's heavier and, despite what games often shows, has more punch that regular ammo. It makes a lot of sense to have this weapons if you're fighting creatures with natural armor and that can hear a nail falling from a table. Maybe not Ellie, but Abby definitely should have had one of these.
    Bad thing(s):
It can be summarize in one word: Abby. After +30 hours -as you probably guessed I stealth a lot so my playthrough consumed a lot of hours- chasing her, everywhere, after all she has done to almost every character we liked from the first game and the friends that we've made in the second, not finishing the job is disappointing. I get it Naught Dog. It's a grey ending where Ellie let's her go to end the violence cycle, however, I DO NOT like the feeling that they forced the player a story in which, her, the clear antagonist, has a redemption story!
For gods sake no, hell no. As Stannis Baratheon said in Clash of Swords: “A good act does not wash out the bad, nor a bad act the good. Each should have its own reward.” I'm not saying she didn't deserve her own revenge, but saying that if you get into revenge, you must face consequences. And she did not. The same goes for his "friends".
She chased Joel for years. She forced her "friends" to go with her and to torture Joel. And then just because she's, at last, caring about someone, I'm suppoused to care about her? No, I do not. I'm sorry for Lev, because from the Abby's chapters is by far the best characcter, but she deserved to die. This is, in the end, a fictional story and is setted in a raw place. She should've died or at least, we should have get the choice to spare her, or not.
In this regard, even if I understand why Naughty Dog wanted us to play as she and for me, this was quite original, it was disgusting actually to play as her. She killed our Joel. As I've read from some people, it would've made more sense to have her chapters before Jackson events. You're already making time shifts/jumps, why not doing this one? I do not see it that difficult and by this, you actually empathize with her and try to see it from both point of view everything that happened...But not like this.
Here goes a DLC suggestion A New Game + + in which you don't play as Abby and, of course and overall, that adds the choice of killing Abby at the end.
Amazing game, but the story wasn't guided that well...And it's such a same.

I will play it again, but it will take some time before I do it..

PS: A second DLC with more Ellie and Joel interaction would also be superb, but I'm aware that's fanservice.

The Last of Us 2 ist kein schlechtes Spiel, wenn man das Spiel neutral und unabhängig vom ersten Teil bewerten muss.

Gameplay - Part 2 expands on the gameplay of its predecessor with new weponds, new craftable items and many in game mechanics to have other games shaking at their knees (such as the ropes). The way the player is brought into the stressful environment is amazing with the soundtrack and many features to make players feel on the edge of their seats. Many of the new features expand on the world and make environments more interesting with puzzles and different ways to get to certain areas. Story - I know everyone’s problem is with the story. Personally I enjoyed the story and it brought out the emotions in me that the developers wanted us to feel. We have to mention the actors’ performances (especially Ashley Johnson’s) before anything. The cast were absolutely astounding and so talented. The story requires a lot of thinking about which I like but it may not be for everyone. I feel as though some people are drawn towards games to cheer themselves up greatly and I must warn you the Part 2 may not do this. Despite having happy moments in the game it is dark, depressing and at most distressing. I would say it’s the abstract art to the art world rather than a form of realism art with the answers right in front of you. My one criticism is the pacing in this game. It seems as though half way through the game it becomes a bit of a drag. Maybe because you enter an extremely stressful situation to a stripped back and calm one which essentially leaves the player on a cliff hanger for about 10 hours. I feel like this game falls short with the run time and it could have been made a little shorter. However, I can see why the writers did this. The ending has good meaning and symbolism and is not to be looked over as there are no straight laced answers to this game much like the last. Overall I’ve given the game 8/10 I wish I could give it a 10/10 just like I gave the last one but some bits fall short for me. Other than that I feel like this game is a masterpiece and a step in a great direction for the gaming industry. The question is now is wether that ballsy decision to go in this direction pays off for naughty dog which it looks like it is due to the sales! I really recommend giving this game a try. Playing it yourself is an experience on its own. Watching it or reading plot lines do not add up to playing the game. Expand

Story-wise, this game is not meant to be a story of rainbows and unicorn farts. It's meant to hurt, it's meant to make you feel depressed and sad. This game shows that this world has no good or bad. And I think this is why so many people didn't enjoy it. People went into this thinking that Ellie and Joel are the good guys and everyone else is wrong. And over the course of the game, this is shown to not be true at all. This game is not perfect but it is not as bad as people are making it out to be.

This is of course just my opinion, and you are entitled to your own, and please if you are going to leave a review on this game, may that be a good or bad one, please play the game for yourself. There are far too many people just saying it's the worst for the sake of it, this also goes for the people saying it's 10/10 for no reason. Please just play it and form your own opinion, don't watch someone else play it because you are not going to get the proper experience. It's a game it has to be played.

Expand
