Loved the first game. For this one, I actually tried to understand the developers and what they were trying to do. So let me start with the good: graphics and mechanics are spot on. The death of certain characters was done in poor taste. And they had to insert a bunch of cultural Marxist SJW feminist bs, that I just can't stand. It is basically weak soyboys everywhere living along the manly or insanely tough and smart women; they even had a pregnant woman go out in the field, fighting. Why? Basically Antifa chumps inserted into the game. It is pathetic. I also didn't like that Ellie and Dina didn't have any chemistry. But I did like them as characters in general. Niel needs to get fired. We need some better writers and people that don't hold a certain ideology or agenda. Expand

So I’ll keep it brief and spoiler free: The Last of Us II is a game that dares to challenge players expectations, not only of what the story will be but in what you as the player will think and feel. I’ve really tried understanding the perspective of players who hated or disliked the whole experience strongly, but I just can’t get behind that. If you’re looking for a feel-good father daughter banter road trip, this ain’t it. And if you feel betrayed by anything this game presents you really should work on broadening your horizon or at least trying to get behind the creators intentions. For me this game celebrated the first part in every breath it took. Yes there we’re parts that dragged at first or felt eye rolling in the sense of “I see what you’re trying to do here Naughty Dog, but it won’t work”. But if your willing to hear the story out and try to get behind characters motivation and feelings, you’ll have one of the most enriching experiences in media as a whole of the last few years. For me it was the most profound and cathartic gaming experience I ever had. Expand

Don’t believe the brigading incel mob. The mechanics are updated. The visuals are bigger, pushing the ps4 to it’s max. After playing it back to back with remastered, the improvements are jaw dropping.

The difference, and why this has 9x the (spam) reviews of huge games like God of War, is there’s a gay female protagonist. That makes some dudes really really mad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just finished the game and I loved every single moment of it. By the end of it, I was really hoping Ellie would stop because she was getting too crazy with revenge and I’m glad that that’s exactly what happened. Every character had clear motivations and the parallels that were drawn between Ellie and Abby make me feel so bad for them but also understand them at the same time. Amazing game and I’m going right back into it on the harder difficulties. The pacing had some issues to me but that would only make it around a 9.5-9.6 to me so gotta pick 10.

If you’re looking for a game that discusses some challenging subjects such as empathy, emotional blindness, revenge being a fool’s game, while also giving some fun gameplay (similar to the first but more brutal) then I would definitely say to give this game a try. To me the best way to experience this game is to try your best to see things from every character’s eyes. It might be challenging and understandably so but it definitely helps the point stick.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think this was a decent game. Personally way too long. Every time I thought I had finished it kept going.

People complaining about Joel being killed early I feel have a reason to but also not to.
In the beginning, my only goal was to kill Abby and make her feel the pain that a lot of us would have had.
I think the second half of the game does put Abby's revenge in perspective but I don't know if it needed to be literally another game. If it was potentially dabbled in here or there or even the opening cutscene started with younger Abby talking to her father who you learn is the doctor in Ellie's operation room. That would have set the story up a bit differently.

I want to know more about Scars. Lev and Yara were great characters. I really grew to like Lev and his struggles and his inability to comprehend anything outside of the cult/religion that he has grown up in.

Ending was good, it's not a happy ending for anyone involved.
Tommy think's Ellie is a little **** for not wanting to go find Abby - and he's potentially splitting up with Maria.
Abby and Lev were almost killed by that group of harvesters? And pretty much **** even before Ellie tried to kill her.
Dina has lost her partner to revenge and has packed up and left. And .... as far as I'm aware not even left a note for Ellie.
And Ellie is alone again in the world. Joel's gone. Jesse's gone. Dina's Gone. Tommy's gone.

I think that's good. Not every game has to be a happy ending. I don't think that is what The Last of Us needs to be. So I did enjoy that.

If anything, the game could have been tightened up. Even by 5% or something, I believe that would have really helped with the pacing.

I'VE WORDED MY COMMENT TO AVOID ANY SPOILERS AS BEST I CAN BUT MADE A NOTE WHERE SPOILERS MAY BE HINTED.

Why do I feel like I'm the only person who LIKES the game? I think it's because I didn't spend 7 years with the characters. I played "The Last of Us" just last month for the first time. I did, several years ago, watch the opening scene with Joel and Sarah in someones Lets Play. But other than that, I had no idea what to expect from the game. I played it, loved it and was ready for part 2. And I was so very happy with how they continued the story.

Maybe I've not played enough video games so I don't have context on how much better the story could have been told. But as a filmmaker and someone who loves watching films that challenge you (if done well) than I appreciate them. I felt that was about Last of Us 2. And when I see people raging about THAT scene with THAT character... I think "That's what the game developers wanted, because you need to be as mad as the characters in the game. You need to have every fiber in your being aware that this post-apocalyptic world **** SUCKS. It's awful to a degree few of us have ever understood or experienced."

I also hear people complaining about the second half and how you start doing something else.... but I LOVED IT. I got the message loud and clear. Violence is awful and sometimes we don't fully appreciate that when we kill millions of nameless people in all these different games. Naughty Dog wants you to think about those people. Really think about them. In fact, live in their shoes and get to know them so intimately that by the time their life is about to be ended, you'll want to fight against that and refuse to let them die.

When someone says "This game is TRASH!" all I hear is someone upset about what happened to their character... and yeah, both you and your character are furious with what happened, I think that's great that a game could have such an affect.

THIS PARAGRAPH IS BORDERLINE SPOILER: We all loved Joel. That's why he was the ONLY character who THAT could have happened to, to be what pushes Elie on her journey. And more importantly what pushes the PLAYER to take control of Ellie and find that revenge. And conversely, I thought the game did a fantastic job explaining why Abby did what SHE did and why she shouldn't be seen as strictly a villain. Yes , Naughty Dog wanted to compare Abby and Ellie and actually I thought they did that well too. But it was also just about reminding us that they are all people, including Abby. Not cartoon cutout bad people. Sure it's a little weird how we're introduced to Abby but soon enough I sure understood her and FELT for her because of how Naughty Dog made me interact with her. /BORDERLINE SPOILER END

That's the bottom line for me, if media wants to tell me a story about shock, sadness, anger, revenge, and wants me to feel what the characters are feeling, then the media needs to make me equally as upset as the characters I'm watching/reading/listening to. This game does that in spades. It's a game that takes place in a **** world, and we can't just look at it from the outside. We can't think "At least I can respawn! I can open up a save and so something different, and it'll be like nothing ever happened!" No, things in the world of Last of Us are sudden, shocking, horrific, unfair... and I don't think it's enough to base that on some unknown character or whatever other method people use. We need to be suddenly shocked, horrified and feel like it was unfair. That's the only way to get the players to feel the way they NEED to feel for a game like this.

And I do hope... even feel like many of these reviewers who are so negative will come around after some more thought.

Like you, I have spent many years waiting for a sequel and replayed the original multiple times to relive the game in all its glory. To me, the original had something that was unique to Joel and Ellie. A story only they could tell and no one else can.

Sadly, with the sequel, that uniques fades quickly. In my mind, the story could have taken a completely different direction form the moment Joel saved Abby or the flashbacks that indicated Ellie's itch to learn the truth and the friction Joel and Ellie had. Instead of chasing those story lines which would actually be a continuation of that uniqueness established in part 1, we are thrown into a revenge story that came from a retconned character in a very obvious and forced way. Now don't get me wrong, revenge stories are very compelling but the story ND told with Part 2 is no longer unique to Joel and Ellie. It is a story that could have easily had some other characters entirely and it would have had the same effect.

Where the game particularly shines is in the world the tale is told in. My favourite parts of the game come from encounters in the semi-open world and the tension of encountering infected and other enemy factions. The gameplay is similar to the first one with a few refinements and additions which definitely make the experience better but nothing ground breaking.

Abby's story felt like a different game to me that completely derailed the momentum Ellie's storyline was picking up.

Overall, the game to me felt like a victim of the team's decision making bias which sent them on a journey of no return with a story we didn't want, need or deserved. At the same time, I will say this, you should play it and uncover the story for yourself. I think the game deserves your attention.

    Thanks for reading!

The Last Of Us Part II.

If you can detach yourself from the story and immerse yourself in the atmosphere and setting, there is fun to be had, but I can't imagine how anyone would feel better off having played this game once you reach the end of the story.

I think if you just open your mind and see the full scope of the parallels being drawn between characters, the points being made about morality and perspective, and the subtly of the acting as well as the narrative and the environmental story telling can you fully appreciate the game for what it’s trying to do. I completely disagree with the notion that this game doesn’t respect the characters and themes of the first game. You just have to pay attention. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I usually don't write reviews but there are so many here intentionally tanking it that I feel compelled. It is *very* obvious from many of these that the people writing them didn't play, despite what they say. If you only watch the cutscenes, you're missing half the story.
    First off, the basics:
Gameplay is excellent and much improved from the first, which was good for its time. I replayed both Left Behind and the Remaster after finishing The Last of Us Part II and I can tell you it is VERY much improved. People have unrealistic memories when they say it's the same. Everything is smoother, your companions don't push you out into the open or get in your way while you're trying to make some space to fight. Enemies don't take off sprinting to the ends of the earth like chickens with their heads cut off when you get seen. I mean seriously, go load up the first game, get to a part with 5 or so enemies, let one see you, then duck and use the listen ability. They just go totally **** in a completely nonsensical way.

If I had any complaints, it would be Abby having to craft shivs..like, she's all WLF geared out and trained but doesn't carry a knife? And, as with all Naughty Dog games, I wish the untraversable areas actually looked untraversable, often it's like "Umm, they're going ten blocks around this wall and there are literally a dozen things in the area that could be used to get over that wall...

The environments are beautiful and realistic, the atmosphere is great. Now, to spoilers and story:

    I loved it.
    Here comes the spoilers:

I can see where people were upset with what happened to Joel, I was too. However, if one *really* thinks about what he did, he deserved it. He betrayed the entire world, including Ellie, for his own selfish wants. Really think about it, playing the first one over again after this really brought that home to me. I'd always agreed with what Joel did before, now not at all. She has to live her entire life knowing that she could have saved humanity by dying, but was denied that. I can't even imagine. And the Fireflys, everything they fought for, everything they stood for, totally destroyed in one selfish act by Joel.

Ellie is obviously suffering PTSD from witnessing Joel's death, on top of the certain other psychological problems she has growing up in that world and seeing Riley turn etc etc. Abby has her own PTSD from finding her father dead. Having PTSD myself, I think they did a great job of translating it into the character's actions. The dream sequences, even just Abby's trips down the hall in her mind, are so vital to the story.

Now, I was upset at first when I had to play as Abby and realized it was going to really make me play three full chapters as her. I even thought "how can I finish this now?" But she grew on my quickly. As soon as it shows what exactly her relationship to all this is, it was so easy to understand why she did what she did, although the method was still hardcore.

People are pissed that Ellie doesn't finish Abby off in the end. Well, think about that one from both sides. Ellie killed literally everyone Abby loved, all of her friends, every last one and even her dog and yet she let Ellie live. People are crying that Ellie letting Abby live in the end is unrealistic (it's so isn't) yet they don't have a problem with Abby letting Ellie live, which had to be even harder.

Both of them come around when they accept what happened to their dads (in Ellie's case Joel as the father figure). We see this in the visions; gone are the images of death.

This is a tragic, heavy, story. I can see why people are put off, it tore me up! That ending, I'm like "I NEED TO KNOW". But given the letter from Jessie's mom on the table in the first farm section, I'm certain Dina and JJ went back to Jackson, and Ellie will find them there.

I've also seen the complaint that Abby is trans...um...she isn't. Not that it would mater to me, but bone structure alone shows that Abby was born female. Lev is the trans character mentioned in the leaks...

And honestly, anyone who played the first one, and the Left Behind DLC, and didn't already know Ellie is gay is just dumb. It was obvious lol. And those who say it was "in their faces" have their own issues to work on. Doubt they ever complained about Elena and Nathan's banter in the Uncharted games lol.

Before I write my review, let me say that I am a huge HUGE fan of the Last Of Us (and all of Naughty Dog studios games). So much so that before I even started this one, I actually replayed the first one and reread everything just to make sure my experience in this one would go unhindered.

    Anyways... Onto the review...

When I first started Part 2, I was happy to see that this sequel played and felt like the original one. Many of the first game's details were basically carried over and improved. The music, game play, and general ambiance were all kept intact. A perfect example of NOT fixing things when they aren't broken. So to that, I praise the developers. Solid 10.

But beyond the music, the game play, and the ambiance, Part 2 takes what was strong in the first game and tosses it into the garbage. It almost feels as if a different writer or team was in charge of this game as the story telling and the general character development take on a completely different approach. And that's a big problem.

The last of us is a shallow game and that's not a bad thing. It's like if a lake were to have crystal clear water and you can see right through to the bottom teeming with wild life. Or how a glass enclosure can allow us to safely view a tiger in its enclosure. The game is shallow so that you can focus on its story line.

But this transparency is a double-edged sword. Great moments are amplified but so are the crappy ones. Which should make things easier right…? After all, if you know that there would be a heavy reliance on the storyline, all you had to do was make sure that the story lived up to its name.
But perhaps in what could’ve been a golden opportunity became one for disaster as the story line basically fell way short of expectations.
Many of the developments in the original story line were basically "closed off". The relationship between Joel and Ellie was basically stopped. Fireflies became irrelevant. Ellie's immunity to the infection? Didn't even matter. As I progressed deeper and deeper into the game, it almost felt as if someone in the game developer's team was just trying to distinguish Part 2 from the first one. Just because.
And then you have the character development....
Almost the entire game, from to get go, just shoves character after character into your face. Why? I don't care about them. I'm playing this game because I want to find out what happens to our favorite father daughter duo. Therefore.... The only reason why a new character should be introduced is if that character's fate is somehow intertwined with Joel and Ellie. But nope. Instead the developer wastes everybody's time to delve into trying to make you care about characters who are IMO "super useless".

The saddest thing about this game is that I would've been fine if it all made sense in the end. Like if you’re able to pull everything together to make me feel something. But it doesn't. Instead it leaves you feeling ... unsatisfied. So basically, you spend an entire 30+ HOURS on a game chasing NOTHING. Do you know how FRUSTRATING that can be?
So with that all that said, my final score is a 6. If the game was rated without the story and character development being included, I would give it a higher score. But it falls so shortly of expectations I honestly feel at this point that I'm only giving it a 6 because I enjoyed the first one so much.
I really hope that the team at Naughty Dog can see this review and grow from it. I know that they can do better and I've seen it. Here's to hoping that they get their sh** together for Part 3…

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Neil Druckmann just made a $60 SJW propaganda instead of the game we waited for 7 years. Don't get me wrong, I'm not furious about the game containing characters with various races and sexual orientations. I have absolutely no problem with that. However, I'm furious for TLOU 2's inconsistently breaking all the characters' personalities in order to make a point, characters' motivations that don't add up in order to make a point, and throw away/killing characters with no sensible explanation IN ORDER TO MAKE A **** POINT. For what? so that Mr. Druckmann could enlighten us about 'how video games should treat their female characters'.

If these aspects of the game was advertised clearly from the trailers, I would have not be so angry at least, because if that was the case, I would not have bought it in the first place. Instead, Naughty Dog released a trailer deliberately deceiving customer as if the TLOU 2 is all about Joel and Ellie's story. But the reality is far harsh. Joel dies in the beginning of the game and you are forced to play as the killer Abby half of the game as if the game was forcefully educate players "See? Abby is not so bad. Joel was the bad guy in her eyes" and this take was done in very poorly paced manner.

This piece of abomination made people realize the fact that the success of previous TLOU was accomplished by collective efforts from talented staffs once Naughty Dog had. Namely, Bruce Straley.

Don’t buy this propaganda and don’t trust 10/10 user reviews for they are bought by Sony. ND and Sony seem very desperate. Why? because they know the game is so **** up.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So, where to begin? I want to start off with my positives, because they are important. For me, this game is a technical masterpiece. The mechanics, graphics, character MoCap, and scripting is fantastic. As with the first game part II is a joy to play, mechanically. I want to stress that this is no way a "Trolling/Bomb review" because I'm not satisfied, this is legitimately how I feel about the game, I've just finished playing and am a huge fan of naughty dog and The Last Of Us. And I really can't say enough good things about the technical presentation of this game.
I'll cut to the chase, as I know a big focus right now of the divisiveness nature of this game is from industry supporters and people who enjoyed the game trying to de-legitimize negative reviews and that is not fair.
On the whole I'm left significantly disappointed with how TLOU2 played out as a story. For me the issue is not solely with the events that transpired but more specifically the sequence of those events. Broadly speaking it felt as if Naughty Dog and the writers of this story have grown tired of their creation. Killing Joel felt like a rush to "shoot their shot" and make the big kill. I can't say I was surprised by their decision to kill Joel but I was surprised by the manner and timing of that killing. I feel that killing Joel, although not at all necessary was done for dramatic effect, a la HBO, fine, if you want to do that at least give him the respect of exposition within the story prior to busting his head in. He is, after all responsible in part for the runaway success of Part one. And having his death play out later in the game with more story ambiguity leading up to it could have really played out far better.
Abby. My detest for this character knows no bounds. To me Abby seems like she was a "pet project" of a senior writer, director, executive of the game and because of that got to play out as a main character of the game. Following her brutal actions against Joel we are forced to play almost half the game as her! This makes no sense to me and the desire of the writers to have the fans fall in love with her is transparent and cheap. This is a character who's story did not deserve to be told. She is wholly uninteresting and brings nothing of an identity with her, other than "angry thug", she is the boring blonde doctors daughter. Her story is shallow and her development is flat and forced upon us. Why would we, the player, want to command this character to success after they have brutally murdered 50% of our core lineup? I was not invested in her or in her victory. My enjoyment of the game fell off a cliff as soon as we are forced to take control of her. I really stopped engaging with the environment as much, her supporting cast are equally bland and don't provide much in terms of meaningful conversation, even the chatty banter between Abby and her comrades is thin and I can't remember a single engagement between any of them and I only just finished the game. Further trying to force emotional investment came with the zebra scene. This was thrown in purely to build a crappy picture of "oh look how caring her father was, he was tormented by the thought of killing Ellie for scientific advancement because he is a caring human being, look he saved a zebra". This wouldn't have mattered at all in a shallow action game but TLOU1 gave us a storytelling method of a much higher standard and I feel it's ok to expect that in a sequel.
Ultimately it feels like too many stories are being told here. And none of them well. Ellie has become an emotional punching bag with no pay off. Again, I was not expecting or wanting endless fan service, that does not a good game make. But I expected a conclusive direction. Ellie had nothing but a met loss throughout the game with now pay off whatsoever.
Don't abandon your creations, Naughty Dog. Even the title menu image before and after completion are a focused nod to Abby, not Ellie. Abbey is an awful character and should not have been given so much e deserved screen time. Had Abbey been pitched as a main protagonist in a different game I don't believe that game would ever get greenlit.

Final word: Ellie and Joel worked so well in the first game because they were written as a duo. They were not the result of a character mashup or crossover episode, they were written for each other. Killing Joel so early on to provide the vague driver of "vengeance" was weak, kill him if it serves the story, by all means. But don't kill him for hollow dramatic effect. And when you do wrap your story up, leave our protagonist with some semblance of gain not merely loss.

Oh and don't make this a trilogy, you've killed your IP, leave it dead...

The Last of Us Part II meets or exceeds all the expectations set forth by the original title. The story line may not be 100% as tight or succinct as the original, but that's because it's far more complex in its narrative structure.

The story in general terms is about the self-destructive nature of revenge, and an exploration of how (and if) cycles of violence and misunderstanding between different people can be broken.

You initially follow Ellie as she follows Tommy on a likely-suicidal mission to avenge Joel's death at the hands of a surviving contingent of Fireflies. One by one she murders them, but each time she does she comes back changed. This slowly begins to poison her relationships with her remaining friends.

Halfway through the game the POV changes. You are now one of the Fireflies. At first you reject this shift in perspective, having already decided that these people were scum and worthy of death. However, slowly but surely you are forced to recognize their humanity. And those actions that you previously took as Ellie start to look less and less badass and heroic. Instead, they start to look monstrous.

In the ending scene, Ellie has lost several of her fingers and finds that she is no longer able to play the guitar song that Joel wrote for her.

In her quest for revenge, she had killed the one part of Joel that had truly lived on through her -- his music.

You realize that there was no real villain. Nobody was the hero. Everyone was the villain. Everyone was simply human, and flawed, and was wounded by violence, revenge and madness.

If that's not an appropriate theme for 2020, I don't know what is.

The people who are complaining "I didn't get to kill Abby. WTF???" let me say this unambiguously -- you completely missed the point of the story.

The majority of negative user reviews here complaining about the story were written within hours of the titles release before anyone could have possibly finished it.

So, who is review-bombing this game without playing it? They generally fall into three groups:

    1. People butt-hurt over the decision to kill off the previous main character, Joel. This was an excellent decision made by the writers. Why? Joel's character arc was finished. That's why. It was thoroughly explored in the first game. Furthermore, his death is the catalyst that spurs literally all of the events of the second game into motion. Though he is dead for most of the second game, he is still a main character in it. His presence, and absence, are keenly felt throughout the entire story. All I can say to these people is I'm glad they do not have control over the game's narrative, since it would have been all the worse for it.

    2. Douchebag culture warriors upset over the presence of homosexual characters. Perhaps they forget that there were heroic homosexual characters in the first game? Who cares, really, what these people think -- these are garbage people.

    3. People who don't understand good storytelling or can't deal with moral complexity. Sorry to say this, but the issue here is that you people are stupid. If you want unambiguous morality, post-apocalyptic fiction is not for you. Maybe try a JRPG or something where the bad guy is the main character's evil twin brother who wears a red eye patch. Let me also say unambiguously -- your opinion is trash. Thank god smarter people wrote this game.

Other than that, graphics are excellent. Story is cohesive and interesting. The characters are some of the best I've seen in a video game. Gameplay is mostly excellent. Shootouts are visceral and terrifying. Violence is gratuitous. It's as close to perfect as I've seen a game come.

I literally sat through like an hour of credits just to make sure there wasn't more to see.

Ignore the conservative trolls. Ignore the people who ran out to talk **** about the game as soon as Joel's death was spoiled for them without playing it.

For God's sake, play this game.

Given that it's breaking records for daily users right now, I'm fairly certain that the negative reviews here are from a fringe minority.

Gráficos lindos, cenários detalhados, momentos emocionantes e surpreendentes, com algumas poucas cenas, mais especificamente no final do jogo, desnecessárias. Mas o jogo é uma incrível experiência.

I just barely beat the game all the way through and the ending left me feeling hollow. I don't know if this deserves a full 10... I'd honestly give it a 9 - 9.5. However, I can see how this game isn't for everybody. It isn't a game that is about happy feelings. It is raw and real in a lot of ways. I personally hate what they did to some characters, but that is what made it so good. I feltI just barely beat the game all the way through and the ending left me feeling hollow. The last of us part 2 has astaunishing graphics, realism in vedo game at its peak, acting performance that is just extroardinary, gameplay who puts you in stressfull sitations just like the resident evil style. But... its story... is just a mess and when you played the first game, you know that the only thing that matters is story. I was waiting since decmber 2013 when i first finished the last of us to this day to see what happened to Joel and Ellie but now I just tell to myself why did you expect a sequel? The last of us is a story of relationship between Ellie and Joel. Joel has lost evrything in the first game including his humanity. But he gets it back thanks to Ellie who slowly healed his heart. And Joel, just acting like all other people would've act, saved Ellie. So now in this second game, instead of having an illustration of Ellie's relationship with Joel all along the game, we just show you Joel in some flashbacks wich in total are about 1h10min. Yes... 1h10 min of Joel in the last of us part 2 wich is 25 hours long. You kill the main character of the series and after you are forced to play 10 hours as the strong woman who killed him just to sympathize with her for what she has done. Let me just say this clear, this isn't a naughty dog game, this is a Sarkaziaan and Druckman game. Kill all the male characters, Joel, Jesse, and letting alive the submitted husband wich is Tommy, but even if he is submitted he still a man so we will make sure he loses an eye and the use of one of his legs. You kill Joel to introduce another character at his place wich nobody cares because she has no reason to be in this game, Yes Joel killed her father because he was trying to kill Ellie. You kill a young man named Jessie, which is honnestly for me the only good new character, just to make sure your plan of having a lesbian family will work. And when the end is near, you let live the only person who braught you all these nightmares just to make sure she will be the main character of the next game because she is a STRONG WOMAN WHO DEFENDS A TRANSGENDER INOCENT CHILD WHO KILLED HER MOTHER. So bassicly they kill Joel, kill Jesse, ruin Tommy's life and made a reality of Ellie's gratest fear of being alone, but miss hulk gets to live because she's a strong woman and an example for everyone. This is disgusting, i am just so sad for what they have done to all the characters, this game was ment to destroy them because of identical ideologies of mister druckman and miss sarkaziaan. I'm not expecting any more game from this studio, only if the ancient employees will come back, wich will never happen. Expand

I don’t care for all the reviews on here that are aggravated at the notion that naughty dog altered some of the characters sexuality or whatever, I don’t see how that explains why the story is so poor. What made me so angry throughout my playthrough is how they not only robbed me of playing as the character I loved, but made me sympathize with Abby, and try to vilify Ellie. I **** hated playing this game, they turned one of the most lovable and relatable characters into someone who would throw everything away for revenge like some dumb, unlikeable antagonist. Honestly just so ****g pissed that they ruined Ellie, i wanted to punch through my monitor throughout all the ending cutscenes. Pce out story oriented games - guess i gotta go play warzone or some bs. Expand

Why are producers doing these terrors against their fans? This is a game with a feeling of inferiority to the movie. Naughty Dog's cinematic game should have ended in Uncharted 2.
Other producers shouldn't imitate and critics who gave high scores do not give convincing explanations.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
