    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Agenda pushing aside, it is truly hurtful the way they treated the characters we grew to love. The only memorable parts of the game were the flashbacks with Joel. They executed those scenes beautifully. It is a horrible story that is standing on the foundation of its predecessor, believing that it has the strength to stand on its own two feet. I mean how can you kill hundreds of people just to let the killer of your best friend go????? Why did she suddenly grow a conscious? Especially for the person who has caused you so much pain? You killed hundreds already? Smh it doesn’t make sense. Teach Drunkman a lesson, don’t buy this game. It truly is a slap in the face, and contains too much symbolism as to how they see the fate of America with their agenda pushing. I left tv to escape this crap, now it’s infiltrated video games.… Expand

    Story is absolutely atrocious. Graphics, gameplay, and mechanics are excellent. But story to me plays such a major role in this series and the wroters completely dropped the ball there.

In a nutshell: within the first few hours our hero Joel gets bludgeoned to death, by what appears to be a transgender girl/guy? While our Heroine Ellie is forced to watch without being able to save him. That killed the game for me, PERIOD! The Creators of this game Fooled us into thinking this was going to be a continuation of Joel and Ellie's adventure by using false media hype. Then to add insult to injury, the game halfway through Forces you to play as the transgender girl/guy that killed Joel and is now trying to kill Ellie. What?! No? Yes! that's the story arc. At this point I stopped playing. Tried to get a refund but PSN won't refund if the game was started. So now I'm not only heartbroken but angry as well. The Graphics are just Beautiful. the Art team did a great job. But it's unfortunate that the the writers Destroyed the the game for the fans. I accuse the developer of Fraud here. Oh How could they Have made such a masterpiece as The Last of Us 1. then turned around and produced such banal trash as The Last of Us 2. Trust me; If I had known this is what the game was going to be like, I would have Never purchased it.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What a truly disapointing experience and a gargantuan pile of garbage. This game claims to be against violence, yet nothing until the very final moment of the game even remotely supports this. Surprisingly enough, I did not mind the brutal carnage at all. The only positive thing about this game is that, unlike the first Last of Us, this game provides a believable context for the dark imagery, callous violence, and pessimistic viewpoint of the main character and supporting cast. The violence is justified in the eyes of the main character and you really feel the rage and empathize with the protagonist. I have never before in my life been invested in a revenge tale. This was the very first time I truly felt a burning desire for everyone who wrongs the protagonist to die in the most barbarous fashion possible. This desire is potentiated and made possible by everyone who wrongs the main character to themselves be nothing to admire or empathize with. The supporting cast of "antagonists" are just as flawed, thirsting for violence, and lacking in higher moral ambition the way the main character, Ellie, is. This makes slaughtering them not only feel good, but it is also very organic and contextualized properly within the game. This game was an absolute masterpiece in every way shape and form until the final moments of the game, which was so ludicrously awful, and such a let down that I wanted to call Naughty Dog myself and complain. In one split second in the end, the masterful gameplay, the dazzling visuals, the perfect survival horror and tense combat elements, wonderful dark cinematography, bone-crushing sound, and near-perfect production values, were all negated by the biggest buzz-killer and disappointment of an ending I have ever experienced in a game or in any type of medium in my entire life. Ellie sparing Abby is not only disappointing, but totally out of context. She sacrificed everything, killing hundreds of people, leaving behind the only person who loves her(Dina), leaving their home and new child, and having nothing left to live for except her final push for revenge. Then, she chooses to spare her?! Nothing in the games message, its own personal lust for revenge, or any context provided by it or Ellie could possibly support this act. By the time the sparing of Abby happens she already is past the point of no return and must see it through for all that she has lost in the game to be worth it. Ellie is not some saint to be redeemed at the time of that final moment. She's already killed hundreds of people, denied herself a future through the compassion of the woman she loves and who can provide her some semblance of grounding in reality and happiness, torn across state lines in a self-destructive path for revenge, and made it very clear to herself that she will as she puts it "Kill every last one of them." As I said before I never thought I would be this invested in Ellie and Joel's revenge but I was. I'm always against violence and brutality and believe in the power of forgiveness and moving on. However, due to no ones fault but Naughty Dog, the revenge and violence was so believable and in context and I never thought I would hear myself say that I savagely enjoyed every slaying of the "antagonist cast" in all of its brutal and revenge-infused violence. This is in part due to the fact that the antagonist cast is not very strong on moral high-ground either. They are just as deserving to die and repent for their selfish engagement in warring with other factions than Ellie is. I wanted Abby to die with all my heart I was literally mashing the square button in a desperate attempt to kill her by drowning, yet when I almost drowned her, the game forcefully robs you of making your entire journey through the game worth it for you the player and worth it for Ellie ,who on top of losing everything loses 2 fingers and cant even play Joel's guitar anymore. She is left with nothing and killing Abby was the make or break point for this game. This game could have been one of the very best games ever made if naughty dog did not upend the entire worth of the game with that sham of an ending and final moments of the game. Way to go naughty dog for breaking my freaking heart and robbing me of an experience I invested 60$ and 30 hours of my time into. This could have been one of the greatest games of this console generation or possibly of all time. Way to go Naughty dog, you should be ashamed of yourself. Did you forget your loyal gamers whom you have a responsibility to? you must have. Yes go and collect your blood money from the numerous sales. The blood on that money is as bloody as the blood in the game. Ive chosen to forego complaining about the propoganda and social agenda aspects towards the LGBTQIA elements of the game for the more important elements that I have discussed above. Naughty dog should be ashamed of themselves for turning the greatest game of this console into its worst.… Expand

    I just finished this game and really enjoyed it. I loved the original last of us and this contains more of everything except multiplayer (which is too bad). I've heard that there might be a standalone multiplayer in the future though. The story is really dark so it's probably only suitable for mature players.

    I really enjoyed the game, not saying it was necessarily a fun one to play, but I enjoyed the story and the characters in it. I enjoyed playing as Abby, and I think that playing as her gave us a chance to look into her complex, inner personal life as well. I also think that Joel dying the way he did was a good choice, and I think it spoke to the way that characters in these games, manyI really enjoyed the game, not saying it was necessarily a fun one to play, but I enjoyed the story and the characters in it. I enjoyed playing as Abby, and I think that playing as her gave us a chance to look into her complex, inner personal life as well. I also think that Joel dying the way he did was a good choice, and I think it spoke to the way that characters in these games, many times white and male, are able to commit horrible acts and still get out of it unscathed. I liked the ending and thought that it was really the only way that the story could end, given what the overall trajectory of the plot had been. We needed to play as Ellie, in a context where it was just get and Abby and she had the upper hand, so that she could forgive Abby and grow from it. We were never given that context before, so it was really the only way that it could end. Also, the fact that Ellie ended up alone, with the one thing that Joel left him, which was being able to play the guitar, gone that again re-enforces the theme here that you can get revenge, but at the end the consequences of your actions will follow. The same can be said with Abby, as she literally lost her home, her friends, and the love of her life, all brought up because of her need for revenge. The game is devastating and cruel and left me feeling sad for days after I finished it, but it makes sense. Life is apathetic towards us, and our actions will bite us in the ass, no matter who we are. Ellie didn't get the end that we wanted for her, but she got the end that she deserved, and I think that is something to be appreciated.… Expand

    Here you dont have a choise, the story and the storytelling devolved from the first game. The game felt, at least for me, stretched at least ten hours trying to get us into some bad developed characters so we lost 40% of our time, a shame.
    Then: is a 0 game? No. Is a 10/10 game? Neither. A 3.7? That would be a BAD game, and it isnt for me. Being a 7 a nice game, it have a little more than a nice game, but if it was a good sequel to the first game probably would deserve a 9 or 10    … Expand

    I did not like the game either plot or gameplay. Very monotonous, we just clean the rooms. The graphics are good, artists, animators, programmers are great! Get Drunkmann out of Naughty Dog!!! Sorry for the short review, but this game didn’t leave me any impression. My rating is 7 out of 10.

    apesar de algumas coisas que questionei de início o jogo consegue ser uma experiência ao mesmo tempo intensa e reflexiva,a história consegue ser excepcional e me fazer sentir muita empatia pelos personagens e o desenvolvimento deles é muito divertido e intenso

    o gameplay é quase o mesmo,porem com algumas adições que o torna até desafiador em certos momentos os gráficos são incríveis e as    apesar de algumas coisas que questionei de início o jogo consegue ser uma experiência ao mesmo tempo intensa e reflexiva,a história consegue ser excepcional e me fazer sentir muita empatia pelos personagens e o desenvolvimento deles é muito divertido e intenso

    o gameplay é quase o mesmo,porem com algumas adições que o torna até desafiador em certos momentos

    os gráficos são incríveis e as expressões dos personagens - ate de npcs! - são assustadores de reais,ainda com tantos detalhes o jogo vem com mt pouco bug (pelo menos quando EU zerei)    … Expand

    But what game lacks here is a proper story that matches the level of it's predecessor,
    i'm fine with that "character's death" and game was going okay till the second half of it,
    game really did not sell me the story of other characters, their relation with others is so shallow and full of cliches .. and did not make the effort to made the proper impact on me and make me sympathize with this character , i've seen some anime and films selling me the same story idea in a better way.

    for me .. game feels like separate individual parts that has been glued together ,
    if the game has been made into a different order it might have been looked better.

    So it's Basically not the sequel that TLOU 1 deserves.    … Expand

    Impossible to play. The whole game is saturated with this propaganda, but it is very beautiful, but I am one of those people who do not care about graphics. For me, the plot is important, the study of characters, but the graphics in my opinion are in last place. I expected more from the game, and the developers just spat in the soul of the players.

    Questo gioco è da 10.
    La trama non era poi così banale, come molti dicono, ovviamente se per "banale", lo dite solo perché avete visto i leak, beh... cacchi vostri. Ricco di colpi di scena ed emozionante. Il gameplay mi è piaciuto, ed era molto semplice da capire. Grafica eccezionale, hanno sfruttato al meglio le potenzialità della ps4. Non pensavo    Io non so che problemi ha certa gente...

    Non pensavo che potesse arrivare a tali livelli, anche avendo la Fat, il gioco andava molto bene e i tempi d'attesa per tornare in vita erano minimi.

Si passa da corridoi stretti ad ambentazioni molto grandi capendoci ben poco... La grafica é stata esaltata senza motivo visto che nn si avvicina nemmeno a qualità come quella di deat stranding o marvel spiderman x esempio... La storia... Puó piacere o no ma nnGameplay noioso e ripetitivo, 0 innovazioni rispetto al precedente a parte 2 movimenti che comunque danno pochissima libertà... Si passa da corridoi stretti ad ambentazioni molto grandi capendoci ben poco... La grafica é stata esaltata senza motivo visto che nn si avvicina nemmeno a qualità come quella di deat stranding o marvel spiderman x esempio... La storia... Puó piacere o no ma nn c'era bisogno di tirarla così per le lunghe, bastavano una 15ina di ore di gioco e nn 25 o più... Molto deluso!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the last of us part two is an experience that shows you that each action has its reaction, that revenge is bad and that sometimes you should not be guided by emotions, that your enemies can have a lot in common with you, the last of us I loved part two, sympathize with abbye, the game is not perfect, however it has a good script and incredible mechanics, when I saw Abby hanging from the trunks, thin, battered I felt something in me and it was forgiveness and regret, in conclusion the last of us part two is a very beautiful experience.… Expand

I loved this game, and I hated this game, let's get a few things out of the way, like standing at the base of the pyramids and truly taking in the effort taken to create them, the graphics made me want to cry. The animation was outstanding, I spent 10 minutes watching kids play in the snow.

    All of these things made me really enjoy the story, the scenes with Ellie and Dina at the start, really drew me in, the facial animation being so good I truly felt for the characters more than I have perhaps in any game before. The 'incident' wasn't really a problem for me, I felt when playing that they perhaps needed a radical shift from the norm. I was prepared to give them the respect they earned from me with the first game.

    Upon finishing the game I was happy and blown away, so all in all I loved it, however I started to read the negative feedback, and I have to say I can't disagree with any of it. I find myself asking was this the best the game could have been, and I think if you ask that, it has to be a no.

    A lot of the things that made the first game great are gone, for me the pacing was all over the place. There is so much time spent in dark offices with just a flashlight, that really feel a bit tacked on. The first felt like gameplay and story were perfectly blended, now it's a bit of gameplay then a bit of story. There are hardly any set pieces, pushing a car, hanging upside down etc.

    Although playing as another character and the result that has on the story was great in my opinion, I found it hard to really warm to them and enjoy playing as them. My advice would be play it with an open mind and enjoy it's good bits.    … Expand

In all my playing hours with abby, I just wanted it to end and it made me hate her more. In addition to all that, the game makers also decided we would chase and try to kill Ellie. What the f were you thinking at the moment? People wanted to see ellie and joel. Not freaking abby for half the game!

The few improvements they made to the gameplay are ruined be the pacing of the story because you end up having more clips than gameplay which is a pity because the first game had the perfect balance of this. The reality is I gave this a low rating because the story is trash and because this is a story based game that relies on you being into the story. It has a few good moments but because they kill a character in the beginning of the game then force you to play as the killer you lose almost all interest. Characters act out of character in order to advance the plot and everything relies on you to accept everything is happening by coincidence which is just lazy writing. The game wants you to be depressed and works goes out of its way to reach that goal which makes it just as hard to build up the interest to finish as much as playing as the villain for 10 hours. It’s a basic revenge plot trying to go over the top with its message that isn’t really unique about The despair of revenge.… Expand

    I don't understand the controversy, is a solid game with amazing graphics and excellent story telling. You may dislike the story but it's wonderfully tell. The game play is close enough to be recognizable as last of us, but with several improvements that make it fresh. My only critique would be that, I would love more of those little open maps.

    - Neil Druckmann, el vice presidente del estudio, forzó a Amy Hennig que renunciara de ND por diferencias ideológicas. Ella fue la escritora de Uncharted 1-3 y se negaba a incluir cosas progres como lo vemos en Lost Legacy y el nuevo TLOU.

    - El también tomo consejo de Anita Sarkeesian, una conocida charlatana que quiere insertar su ideología en los videojuegos aunque no le guste el medio en realidad.

    - Personajes mujeres hechas feas por la idea de que diseñarlas con rasgos femeninos es "objetificacion" (gracias a Sarkeesian)

    - Naughty Dog abuso del sistema de copyright para tumbar cuentas de Twitter y Youtube que hablaran del juego aunque no incluyera videos. Comentarios son desactivados en Youtube y Twitter para evitar criticas.

    - La hipocresía de Sony al censurar juegos de terceros que incluyen desnudos parciales/fanservice pero dejan escenas sexuales explícitas en TLOU2

    - ND abuso de sus empleados al hacerlos trabajar horas extra y sin pagarles (no se si tiempo después si les pagaron) aún así lo retrasaron cuando el juego ya estaba completo y eso causo que se filtrara (supuestamente por un empleado molesto)

    - Druckmann se insertó como personaje en el juego para escupir el cadáver de Joel y tener sexo con uno de los protagonistas, además en un item donde dice tener 100 de cerebro (imagen)

    - En el juego es imposible disparar a objetos que tengan relación con la religión judía (si no me creen díganme y les paso un vídeo)

    - La historia es una basura, te hacen controlar a un personaje nuevo que mató a uno muy querido. El final es incongruente y anticlimatico.

    - Cualquier crítica hacia el juego es tachado de homofobia o machismo

    - ND usó un cover de una canción por una youtuber sin darle crédito en uno de sus trailers
    A esto y otras cositas es que le pasó a este juego

Hra má neuvěřitelný příběh plný pomsty, pochopení i odpuštění. Hlavní postavy pro nás možná jsou "hrdinové", ale v jejich světě udělají vše pro přežití a to hrdinství bohužel není.     Most people only put a review once the game came out less the 5 hrs after it came out. It's a very long game so most reviews here are just fake. This game is so great. from the story to game play, yes it feels to much like number one that could of done with a bit more addition things done to it but it's definitely a must play

It's also unfortunate that you have to play a character for 6-8 hours, to which you unfortunately haven't established a relationship, because the background story was told too short. These characters are nothing like the ones in the previous installment. I think if they wanted to change the character behavior like this then a reboot would've been better.

    I refused to look at any leaks to get a completely blind experience, and it was so worth it. People complain about the story but, in my opinion, it really wasn't bad. it was different than the first Last of Us experience, but it was still faithful to the raw, gritty story they tell. Some of the characters were rather bland in my opinion (Mel, Dina could've used more character progression too, especially for how important she was to Ellie), but Abby in particular was garbage in my eyes until i got to see other sides of her that you wouldn't expect to see. You learn that she is a human with complex emotions (not just some cold murderer), she's capable of being kind and showing compassion, you can tell she's changed by the end and so has Ellie. It was important to play as Abby, despite what people say, to understand her motivations behind killing Joel. The murder was not unfounded.(although it was rather uncharacteristic of Joel to let his guard down like that) This, I believe was done with the means of adding depth to the decision and let the player see insight into this new character. The story, like the first one shows growth in characters that make the Last of Us so special. The final fight between Ellie and Abby at the beach had me at the edge of my seat, I could feel my heart race in anticipation for the outcome. My only wish is that we could've seen more into the Seraphite's story and what they believe, how the war between them and the WLFs started...etc. Definitely wished Naughty Dog included one of their holy scripts for us to look at as an optional artifact (unless they did and i missed it.)

    You will not like this game if you're homophobic, or transphobic. However, contrary to many's misguided beliefs, the story is not about a "LGBT agenda" but is rather about revenge.

    Gameplay was fun too, was like the first game but improved. It sucked that when you switch over and play as Abby your skills and weapons reset but at the same time you get different stuff for your load-out which gives some more variety to the game.

    9/10 one point deducted due to some character blandness, and some out of character moments for Joel and honestly Ellie.    … Expand

Un gran chef colombiano lo dijo: "a veces lo mejor de un plato es lo que no le pones", y en este juego pasó exactamente eso, empezaron a ponerle subtramas, elementos forzados y una extensión innecesaria al punto que si le quitas varias de esas cosas funcionaría mejor o bueno sería menos contradictoria la historia. Tal vez el peor de todos esos errores es el de jugar con Abby y tener que atacar a Ellie, lo que es un despropósito, no se siente bien, ni orgánico, incomoda al jugador al punto de no querer seguir jugando. Le sigue el tema forzado de amor homosexual que no es más es otro distractor que no aporta, tiene un morbo facilista y mas parece el pedido de algún ejecutivo para cumplir con lo que hoy por hoy se cree que es "Políticamente correcto", obligando a meter en alguna parte y de cualquier manera una relación homosexual para decir somos incluyentes. Le sigue la escena de sexo... que puedo decir, en serio se olvidaron que estaban haciendo un juego y no una película de género B. Finalmente, para resumir no hay conexión emocional y el juego se convierte en un listado de cosas que varias personas (ejecutivos) decidieron que debían ir (si o si) en la historia: Muerte rápida de Joel que justifique la venganza, relación homosexual forzada para quedar bien con la comunidad LGBTI, enemiga de la protagonista más fuerte y casi invencible, escena de sexo que raye en soft porn y moraleja final...el odio es malo, te hace perder todo.     Another thing that annoyed me was the amount of false advertising, for example, in the trailer we see Joel saying the Line "You think I would let you do this on your own?" but that whole scene and Dialog was spoken by Jesse in the Final game. They kill a beloved character, wich is ok, but it needs to be done in a way that makes sense for their character arc and story, the only reason Joel died was for Ellie to get a reason to kill abby, and it didnt belong into his arc.

    For me a Sequel needs to justify its existence, this game did NOT justify its existence. And the game needs to take what the First game made great and improve it. A prime example for that is Doom Eternal. This game is gameplay-whise pretty much a clunkier version of the first game. So for me it fails as a sequel.

    I dont want to talk about the story, there are enough reviews about it, its not a good story and the rest you can read in other reviews.

    The ending is really bad. Ellie is left without anything and broke her promise to Tommy, Abby is alive, all the characters from the First game are dead, the few good characters in this game are Dead, and the game is just a setup for a new sequel. Ellie walks off : Alone, broken, a completely different person and unlikeable. Nothing was resolved, Joel's death was not done correctly. Abby's complete story and "love" story is pointless. Its not good

    Just imagine if the story was Ellie tracking down Abby and with time seeing her point of view and the same with abby. Then the ending would make a lot more sense

    I played Dishonored, a game about revenge. However, I spared Daud despite the fact he killed the Empress, the love interest of your character, and kidnapped your child. I did this because I heard his monologue about how much he regretted it. A speech to himself with nothing to prove to anybody else. Even when you meet him he doesn't beg for his life because he knows he deserves it. That's good writing. The problem here is that the Empress had little player connection, unlike Joel. So when you off a character by means of slapping fans in the face, of course they're going to get pissed. I don't think Abby necessarily deserved to die. I just think Joel was killed in a way that didn't do the fans service.

    I am tired of companies that don't care about their Fanbase. It seems like we only get trash games, and that good games are a rareity. Most of the sequel's we get are cashgrabs that use the name and good reputation of the first game. And if people keep giving this kind of Trash good reviews, the gaming industry wont change, But it needs to change. Sony made the best games in the last decade, but that seems to be over now. Lets hope Spieder-man Miles morales is good........

    I think its just like game of thrones season 8. The acting is great and the sets are amazing, but the plot doesnt make any sense and disrespects what the predecessor built. All in all (2,5/10)    … Expand

    To mess up the story and characters in a story driven game is far beyond my comprehension. It starts so good, but than it spirals downward the toilet so fast. Especially the last 40% of the game were just mindblowing in terms of how bad a story can be. I really can't understand how anyone on this planet approved this and said, yeah this will be awesome.     This is an AMAZING game. People are criticizing it, saying it has bad writing and SJW stuff... Let me tell you: complete utter NONSENSE. Just play it and see for yourself, because for me it was absolutely worth it.

    Gameplay 9/10 almost perfect with Minor flaws. Graphics 10/10 one of best Looking games ever!
    Story 10/10 for me, i can see why someone would not like it, because it does things way that hasn't done before. For me it's touching and every character felt like real humans and story felt that this could Be happening to real ppl, not something only fictional characters does. My favorite game ever!

    This game is an emotional journey that will challenge you to reconsider your thoughts and feelings throughout the game. The story is on par with part 1 with some interesting twists. Graphically, this game is amazing. The environment and all the details are breathtaking. It's actually kind of a bummer this game wasn't created with the PS5 in mind, as I would've loved to have seen how that would look.

    Gameplay-wise, it's solid. If you liked the gameplay in part 1, you'll like the gameplay in part 2. The same mechanics are there, with some extras. It's smooth, but I did find myself searching for the right buttons when I was shooting several people and my gun was empty, for example. Might just be me, but I'd have preferred to switch to the next gun automatically. Also, some parts of the game were stretched a bit and made me think "not again please" (I had the same with part 1 and basically all Uncharted games).

    All in all, this game is really solid and will leave you thinking for a while. Would definitely recommend.    … Expand

Gameplay/Graphics and Sound are all 10/10 but that for me is not what I was buying this game for, I buyed this game because of the story and the characters and Naughty Dog destroyed those characters and used them as vessels to tell us a message told better 1000 times before in movies and games.
