    Zunächst möchte ich sagen, dass das Spiel einer der intensivsten Erfahrungen bietet, die ich je in einem Unterhaltungsmedium gefunden habe. Noch nie hat sich ein Entwickler so viel (gute) Ansätze getraut und bricht (zum Glück) mit so vielen "Regeln". Ich meine das im überaus positiven Sinne.     Noch etwas zu dem stupiden Review-Bombing sogannter "Gamer" hier: ich gehe stark davon aus, dass die Masse an den Leuten das Spiel nicht einmal gespielt hat und sich von unwahren/halbgaren Leaks (wieso lest ihr das überhaupt? selbst Schuld!) beeinflussen ließen, die einfach dem Spiel nicht gerecht werden...und dabei rede ich noch nicht einmal von den "harten" Fällen von homophoben und rechten Gedankengut, was hier verbreitet wird. Das zeigt, dass in der Gesellschaft viele tief verwurzelte Probleme stecken voller Intoleranz, Rassismus und vorallem Unwissenheit. Sehr traurig.

    @Metacritic: auch für sogenannter "User" sollten nachweisliche Bestätigungen vorliegen, dass der Reviewer das Spiel auch gespielt hat. Dieses Review-Bombing muss enden!    … Expand

Its incredibly detailed environments, stunning graphics, enjoyable gameplay and the story which is the beating heart of the game, make it one of the greats in gaming history. No mean feat for a medium all too often derided for the quality of    “if I ever were to lose you, I’d surely lose myself”

    Releasing to universal critical acclaim in 2013, TLOU was a watershed moment in videogame storytelling. A mature and thoughtfully told tale that culminated in much discussed ending, which perfectly capped off what was originally intended to be the end of the franchise. No mean feat for a medium all too often derided for the quality of its writing. Now, 7 years later, Naughty Dog and Sony decided to re-examine that ending with Part II, a direct sequel to the first game. Described by Naughty Dog as “a game about hate”, TLOU2 is a brutal tale of revenge and redemption and how violence begets violence. And it is brutally violent, not only in the way the story is told but in the moment to moment gameplay too. A great deal of effort has gone into the brutality of the death animations and the truly harrowing sounds of an enemy choking on their own blood, all in an effort to make you feel the weight of your actions, so much so that Naughty Dog has even given names and faces to the many enemies that you violently murder over the course of the game. This means that the game isn’t always what you’d describe as fun, but that isn’t the point. TLOU2 is first and foremost a character study, but as much as this game is about hate it’s also about perspective. One of the biggest differences from the first game TLOU2 is that Naughty Dog goes to great lengths to contextualise Ellie’s actions as well examine the human cost of this very inhumane quest. In order to achieve this TLOU2 introduces a lot of new characters, the most prominent of which being Abby; the focal point of Ellie’s quest for revenge. In an unexpected move, not only is Abby a playable character but just under half the game is spent in her shoes, and it’s her sections that really elevate the game above what it might otherwise have been. When I reflect on TLOU2 as a complete vision, it is indeed the masterpiece it has been touted as but it’s one that doesn’t let its audience in easily. It’s a bleak and pessimistic revenge story that takes until the halfway point to really build momentum, but by the end it’d ripped my heart out and brought a tear to my eye.    … Expand

    The story is very unconventional. It offers decisions and twists never seen in a video-game before. It is very mature and controversial and I am afraid that most of the players aren't ready yet to play anything else than easy, straightforward and simple to understand games.
    Creating this game was a brave move from the developers but I think that the gaming society is not ready for it yet. I truly believe that one day it will be perceived as a milestone in the gaming industry.

    Look at the difference between Critic Reviews and User Reviews. Why is that? Game journalists are adult and mature people with years of experience with video-games. A user can be anyone for example 14 years old kid who is just not ready to process all the emotions and moral topics this game provides.

The story is very deep, the intention was good to see another side of things, but i really dont like to play as the enemy for half time of gameplay. In my opinion, one or two hours would be enough. The worse thing is that naught dog lie about many things, Ellie and Joel are not the principal characters in this game, Abby is. I really hate this. It’s a technical, visual, and most importantly storytelling masterpiece presented in a once in a lifetime way. People aren’t being open-minded enough and aren’t getting the message, only jumping on the bandwagon of hate like mindless sheep. Sad really, because this isn’t a “lazy cashgrab”, this is a quality game from a quality studio through and through. I understand why some people might dislike it but my only issue with it would be is pacing sometimes. I think ND did a phenomenal job in showing us both perspectives and as a matter of fact, Abby is my favorite character! The duality of Abby and Ellie, the overall arching message (although not new in on itself but is presented in a masterful way). This is a must play, and a 9.7/10 from me.… Expand

I hope, so they don't get pulled away from a unique experience that some seem to struggle getting around with...

Pero lo que han hecho con la historia no tiene sentido, si has jugado al original es impensable que te hagan jugar con el personaje que tortura y mata al protagonista original, psicológicamente es una aberración. Y luego te obligan a pegarle una paliza a la otra protagonista del juego original y coprotagonista de esta segunda parte, ¿Qué tenían en la cabeza? Podrían haber contado la visión de Abby desde la perspectiva de alguno de sus amigos, eso habría sido asumible. La historia de Abby no aporta nada, un triángulo amoroso del que ya conocemos el final porque los has matado a todos en la parte de Ellie por ejemplo. Se siente todo forzado para intentar empatizar con una asesina de protagonistas, no funciona. La historia no puede pasar del 5.

    Si el juego original no existiera probablemente este juego sería uno de los mejores de la historia sin discusión. Pero existe.    … Expand

Countless unneeded flashbacks at the worst time possible draws you out from the experience. Also getting rid of a cannon character in the very beginning was the worst decision. The game is great, even if some parts of the story could be a bit more fleshed out (especially towards the end). Hard to comment much more on the story without adding spoilers. They kill your favorite character from part 1 and you are forced to play for his killer.. But.. You need to go over it. That feel when you kill someone who has his own history and friends (Owen, Mel) and its not only NPC anymore is totally destroying me. I love it, I never played game like this, really. And end, when Ellie finally forgive herself and Joel and let Abby go is satisfying.
    Thank you for this, highly recommending to play this game to everyone. Just go over first tragic part and enjoy rest of the game.

В процессе прохождения не испытывал каких либо разочерований, т.к. слышал еще до релиза, что это история мести и последствий мести. И вполне логично, что в процессе игры мы потеряем не мало хороших персонажей, и месть оставит нас у разбитого корыта. Что же касается трансгендера, то для меня это просто особенность персонажа, как травма детства или фобии, как и имуннитет у Элли.
    В общем 10 из 10 за мрачный и суровый мир, в котором логичны лишения и потери    … Expand

There are many heartbreaking and shocking moments in the game, but they are balanced by the many very intense, action moments. Overall I loved the game, the part with Ellie was increadable, with her going on this brutal path of revenge. If I could change the story I would only change two things, the part with Abby being this long, I wish we could get to play with Ellie even more and I hope we can get to play with Ellie more in part III.The second thing would be to not kill Joel this early in the game or give him a hero’s death, other from that I wouldn’t change anything else. The gameplay is just phenomenal, I don’t think I have ever played a game where the gameplay and all of the animations are that smooth, every fight encounter feels very realistic and intense. However, I think, the part with Abby wasn’t as good as the part with Ellie, but I understand why ND let us play as Abby, it’s to try to create empathy for Abby. Overall the game is amazing and I know some people didn’t like the ending, but the ending is a lot more than just an ending, it perfectly sets up perfectly for part III… Expand

    This game is outstanding like the one before, I’ve played it non stop for 8 hours and it kept me glued to the screen, technically amazing and with a beautiful storytelling experience. Can’t wait to finish it multiple times and explore all it has to offer

Not because of any LGBT characters (which there are but I won’t apoil here for those who still want to burn $60. The problem is the story. It’s bad. And yes, it tries to push Neil’s vision down our throats. And we get to pay $60 for the privilege. But to make it worse? We wereIt’s a bad game. Not because Ellie is a lesbian.     This my friends, is called FALSE ADVERTISING. Stores are denying refunds, but there is a petition with 30k signatures requesting Naughty Dog to change the story of ‘The Last of Us II’ to something that resembles what we were promised.

    Obviously, that won’t happen.

    But, it may send a message that Druckmann’s toxicity and narcissism costs them money. Because if there’s ne message any corporation (Sony included) talks... is money.

    Save your money and use it to support developers who care about fans and delivering a great product (like CD Projekt Red) instead of virtue signaling.

    With that said, I can’t give it a 1 (or a 10 like some did mere hours after release). Graphics are great. Gameplay is the same (with the addition of crouching in vegetation, something the first Metal Gear game introduced back in 1987).

    And btw, the stellar reviews by IGN and friends? Here’s how it works. Access media (like IGN), depends on developers giving them early access to games in order to write about them. Which - in the case of highly-anticipated games like this - bring lots of clicks, which brings lots of money. Give the game a bad review and a powerful publisher like Naughty Dog will keep them in the doghouse when their next bug game comes out. Their competitors get access they don’t, weite articles, get clicks and money... you get the drift. Take everything these big sites say with a bucket of salt.

    It’s a business. Journalistic integrity and impartiality be damned!

    its not a perfect game but even the witcher 3 is not flawless guys ;)
    charakter writing/dialogue is on point and the motion capture is superb!!! i just want to watch those charakters interact the whole time!!
    abby is a nice twist but sadly her missions and story with those kids feel kinda hollow
    overall a memorable game/story and goty for me till cp2077 i guess!

The actual mechanics are similar to the original in an almost too conservative way. Naughty Dog really doesn't put the game out there mechanically to stand on it's on. What it really comes down to is the story. While obviously a VERY subjective metric The Last of usThe Last of us Part II is a fancy looking cake that tastes like dirt. The feel of the game, sound and looks are great. The actual mechanics are similar to the original in an almost too conservative way. Naughty Dog really doesn't put the game out there mechanically to stand on it's on. What it really comes down to is the story. While obviously a VERY subjective metric The Last of us is 95% built on story. In this case the game falls flat on it's face. I don't want to give any spoilers out but my opinion of the story is that they try to tell a boring flat revenge tale and then execute it poorly. This game to me is like the new star wars trilogy. It seems it doesn't want to be defined by its predecessor but does not know how to do a good job on its on. I say again that The Last of us Part II is a fancy cake that tastes horrible.     I was one of the people who managed to stay away from every trailer, leak or other ways that could have spoiled me before the game... Looking back at it, i wish I would have seen the leaks and been able to save my 80€. The writing in this game feels like a low budget teenage high school soap opera. The graphics are sadly so good that you can see bad acting, and I don´t want to say the actors are bad, but the characters and dialogs really just feel shallow and are surly directed by someone who doesn´t have contact with a lot of real humans. Most of what happens, happens because of unbelievable coincidences (also called bad and lazy writing) and almost nothing that the characters do is relatable or even just true to how you know them from the first game. This truly is "Game of Thrones Season 8" Naughty Dog style mixed with "Terminator dark fate" with the twist that they try to make you sympathise with the Terminator who killed John Connor for 10 hours, but giving you nothing to be able to.     This game is a masterpiece! If people can't understand what Naughty Dog is serving them on the table it's their fault, not the company's ( I am referring to the plot). I think it's unacceptable that people who haven't even played the game to rate it with a 0 or with a 3. Grow up. The game is for open minders, not for sheeps.

    Personal I feel The last of us (1) is one of the best games and stories ever told. I fell the Last of Us part 2, could have been just as awesome a game, if not for the choice to force the story on to characters of the first game. And I hate the game for that.
    They could easily fit the story on to new characters, as the initial reason for Hate, is so generic that it does not matter from where it springs.

    Selain pembuatan game, dalam pembuatan karakter - karakter yang mantap sekali, sangat unik seperti Ellie yang suka dengan Dina yang pernah dihamili oleh Jesse (mantan pacarnya), karakter Abby (It's Ma'am) seorang 'wanita' anggota Suzuran yang baik hati, serta anggota housen yang bernama Lev yang katanya dulu seorang wanita berganti jadi anak laki - laki, dan yang terakhir merupakan karakter anggota Suzuran bernama Owen yang memiliki selera yang 'unik' dengan melakukan adegan bercinta 'Abby'.

    Kalau saya membahas tipe - tipe grup yang ada di The Last of us Part 2; di dalam game ini, terdapat dua grup utama, yaitu : WLF (Washington Liberation Front) yang merupakan komplotan bersenjata yang menang melawan pihak militer beberapa tahun yang lalu. Yang kedua adalah grup Seraphite (ada yg bilang Scars), dimana para membernya berkepala botak (seperti Housen di film Crows Zero 2 atau mungkin easter eggnya) dan member wanitanya tetap berambut (dengan gaya mahkota) yang mana para membernya sangat berbeda jauh dengan WLF, mereka mengandalkan gaya combat bergaya ninja dan persenjataan yang tradisional. Nilai plus dari Seraphite ini adalah mereka meminimalisir komunikasi mereka dengan 'priwit' (whistle) yang bervariasi.

    Secara overall adalah percubaan yang sangat mantap, mungkin game - game lain bahkan yang mungkin mau menyaingi game ini belum tentu terpikirkan untuk menciptakan ide masterpies seperti The Last of Us Part 2 lakukan.

    Mungkin dari kalian yang penasaran kenapa saya kasih nilai 10/10, jangan tanyain saya. Tetapi, mainkan saja game nya atau nonton dari para youtuber seperti Qorygore atau Ewing Xp. Keren dahh pokonya.

    Menurut observasi saya, minusnya dari permainan ini adalah ceritanya yang mungkin di awal banget sangat - sangat keliru yang menyebabkan 'Abby' melakukan kesalahan pada target yang ia bunuh. Yang seharusnya Ellie, melainkan pelaku pembunuh bapaknya Abby, si Joel Miller. Kalau misalkan Ellie yang ia bunuh, akan terlihat lebih masuk akal. Sehingga menimbulkan "cycle of revenge" yang lebih diterima oleh akal sehat para user.

    Terakhir, untuk Naughty Dog.     I will begin with these words: this game worths its money (I made a pre-order) and all of my expectations were met.
    From the very beginning, you can see that developers loved what they were doing. The proofs for this statement are all the tiny details which they made: starting from the backpacks which are slide on the characters' backs while they are moving and ending with    NO spoilers!

I can hardly remember any other game which has such a detailing.
    The game itself is pretty long. It took me 30 hours to accomplish the game but I tried to explore every corner, every small location, also I was reading all the notes I found and tried to open all the vaults. These actions took some extra time but I really enjoyed it and it helped to improve the vibe of this post-apocalyptic world. I really enjoyed some of the new game mechanics such as in the moment when you are given a map and you should explore a pretty big location and mark the places which you visited and what you found. Talking about locations, the thing which I noticed pretty soon is that the game itself became bigger than the first part. I really liked this fact because I loved exploring locations in the first game and here I did it too. Especially because the graphics in the game is really amazing even on my PS 4 slim. Also, I really enjoyed the atmosphere which makes you scared pretty often and keeps you on your toes.
    Talking about plot, it turned to be very touching for me and I got some ideas to think about. For me, it is not worse than in the first game, although, I think that not all people can enjoy it so much as I did. Many people scream out about that fact there are no such relationships like between Joel and Ellie in the first game which were the core of the atmosphere. Yes, there is almost no such relationships (except the flashback scenes) but I, actually, respect developer for that. They could do just a copy of the first game because they know that idea if the first game works and people love it but in this case, we would have a situation like with the new Star Wars movies. I mean the 7th episode is a plot copy of the 4th episode. The 7th episode was made just to attract new people. Developers of TLOU could do the same but they didn't. I respect them for their bravery.
    However, the game has some drawbacks too. Firstly, I noticed that many people talk about stupid AI. Alas, it's often true. For example, I was sitting around the corner and when an enemy comes close to me I can silently kill him but then another one spots his body and comes close too me too and I kill him too in the same way. Once I killed 4 enemies in this way. It breaks the atmosphere a lttile bit. However, enemies often make you afraid of them and you try to go through them quietly, what is more, I've just talked about is not familiar with the infected.
    The second disadvantage is that stealth mechanics haven't changed significantly since the first game. You still бщыедн just pick up bottles and bricks to attract enemies' attention. The differences are only the facts that now you can crawl and hide under cars and can craft silencer for the gun. When you making such a big game which is supposed to change the game industry you should add more new mechanics. However, the physics of the guns themselves became much better.
    The third con is about LGBT. I'm not familiar with homophobia and stuff and I respect such people but I don't like when it's aggressively promoted and in this game, it's obvious that it was added, just because they were asked for that. Nowadays just if you don't include an LGBT topic you will be accused in "homophobia" and they decided to follow the "rules" and no to "oppress" anybody. They made some brave decisions but in this case, they failed, in my view
    In conclusion, I love this game. It's a decent continuation of our beloved story and developers did such great work. However, I can's score 10 because of the cons I found but I still consider this game a masterpiece.

I'm sure that you felt responsible for this game as almost everyone considered the first game a masterpiece and you had to do something better than it. It's difficult to imagine how many problems you've got during the development including problems with family and health. It's obvious that the game was developed under big pressure. The latter reduces the fun and makes it possible to skip significant things that if missed create frustration. In the end, the first game remains superior both story wise, character development and gameplay and the second is definitely not the game of this generation. With these budgets you expect the directors to be brilliant and life touching but I guess Kojima is the only man right now who is able to do it. Suggestion: lower the budgets as you are not able to have decent triple A and focus on gameplay rather than story as you are very weak on the latter.… Expand

Yes, Ellie is gay (so what?), that chick who killed Joel has muscles (so what?), the game is very brutal and graphic (that's why the 18+ rating), and yes the story is not as strong as the first one but it's a great story still. I actually liked the Abby gameplay and story, especially the second part of it.
    Btw, Abby is not trans. In the flashbacks, she is the daughter of the doctor that was supposed to extract the cure from Ellie. This proves once again the people just want this game to fail based on their beliefs and other crap.
    For me, Part 2 is a worthy sequel and the story got me emotionally invested.
    To explain my rating, I am giving the gameplay and technical stuff a 10 and the story an 8.5. If you are a mature and reasonable person you will like this game a lot!    … Expand

    Story takes divisive and surprising turns that test your emotions throughout the entire play through. I loved the way it made me truly think about how I feel and gave me the choice to see things from a different perspective. Completely understand that this won’t land with everyone but I strongly recommend you stick it out until the end to make your mind up!

In classic Naughty Dog fashion the story is unpredictable and takes you on a 30 hour thrill ride as you learn Abbys motivation for killing Joel. I thought this twist was smartly written in a sense that it made me empathize with Abby. Naughty Dog has also out done themselves in terms of Gameplay as the dedicated dodge button and a much more nimble Ellie makes for a far more engaging experience. The Enemy encounters are also much more intense because of this. The level designs are also the best out of any Naughty Dog game. Overall, The Last of Us Part II goes in an unpredictable direction, as its characters, story and gameplay make this another Naughty Dog Masterpiece that never drags or loses focus despite its lengthy run.… Expand

Basically it looks as if Naughty Dog has a game play template they apply to every game they make. If you line Naughty Dog games for their game play you will line this one. The presentation is superb as always.
    However the story is horrible, badly told and i can not give a score of more than 4 for a narrative driven game that fails at story telling.

    The story is best enjoyed if you take it as a very bad joke told by a drunk comedian. It is badly written, horrible from a plot standpoint, filled with bad decisions. It pretensious in the strictest sense. It pretendent to be deep, moving, emotional. Its just bad.

    The storyline has been discussed by everyone playing the game. While there are disappointing plot decisions, this is often the case in some of our favourite movies - not everything is sunshine and rainbows!

    Overall I think this game deserves more credit than what people are currently giving it. I get that people are saddened and disappointed by the story but sometimes when we look back at these decisions, we often realise the significance to future storylines (if naughty dog get another shot...)

    Definitely not giving this game a 10 due to some minor annoyances in terms of gameplay mechanics and some personal preference in terms of the types of games I enjoy. However I believe it is a journey that others should embark on.    … Expand

    I tried to avoid spoilers to not get spoiled but now really regret it...shouldbn't have bought this game.
    Also, the more I learn about the leaks and how Sony and ND reacted, the more I dislike them now....Guess I won't buy a ND on release day again...and I won't trust any of the magazines and big reviewers again. I feel    Poor ND devs who wasted to much talent on a story like this...

People will try to push that players who dont like this game 'hate women' when we have grown up on female lead characters.. or that we hate gay people. when nobody had an issue with the left behind DLC. Un juego con una jugabilidad de 10, una música muy buena y que encaja mucho con el ambiente, sonido y graficos espectaculares... pero cuando llegamos al apartado de la historia, lo cual es LO MÁS IMPORTANTE DE TODO EL JUEGO EN SI, comienza todo a caer en picado. Nada que decir de la primera muerte, es el mejor modo de hacer que odiemos a nuestros enemigos y de hacer que nos zambullamos de lleno en la historia, el problema comienza cuando a quien deberiamos de odiar se convierte en personaje principal, ¿en que estaba pensando naughty dog cuando decidió eso? En fin, si fuera una simple misión de recordatorio o un intento de explicación de los motivos personales del malo estaría muy muy bien traido, pero que Abby se juegue MÁS HORAS QUE SE JUEGA A ELLIE ES UNA ABERRACIÓN. Han conseguido un despegue de oro, Ellie yendo con odio y rabia y ¿después tengo que ser Abby? ¿La persona a la que más se odia? Por favor. Un final sin sentido, o bueno muy oculto. Entiendo que quisierais condenar la venganza, pero si quieres eso NO HAGAS QUE ABBY LA PRIMERA EN VENGARSE GANE.
    En fin la historia es un desproposito que ha intentado vivir de las rentas del anterior juego. Por ello a la historia le doy un 0,5/10.
    No quiero entrar en toda la idealogia que hay en el juego, estoy a favor del movimiento pero también hay que saber cuando y cuanto mostrarlo para que sea realista y no un mero escaparate. La historia de Lev, siendo trans es la gota que colmó el vaso, es cierto que tienes que dar visibilidad a todo pero no creo que este juego fuera la situación. Una decisión muy fuera de lugar y que desentonaba totalmente con la tematica del juego. Cosa que no interrumpia pero te sacaba de la atmosfera que el juego debia de tener. En resumen: un juego con una agenda politica metida de contexto totalmente, pero que a fin de cuentas eso no destroza el juego si eres una persona normal.
    Para acabar, simplemente volver a reiterar que la historia es el mayor despropósito y fuera de lugar que he visto en mis muchisimos años a los mandos de consolas. Han destrozado un personaje tanto psicologica como fisicamente para nada, puesto que el juego al final se queda en nada. Muere quien no tiene que morir y vive quien tiene que morir. Jugabilidad 10/10

    Incredibly ambitious game. It's not perfect and has flaws, but what it gets right (story, dialogue, atmosphere) is done so well it makes up for the few shortcomings. Its shameful that so many of these negative reviews were clearly posted by people with agendas. Having said that, if C.O.D. is your idea of the perfect video game this probably isn't your cup of tea.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
