    This game was amazing. I had no issues with combat or feel of the game. The graphics were absolutely amazing and the story took me for a ride.

    A little bit worse than first game but it make me feel emotion so.. for me it's good game. Visually it's one of the beautiful game that I've ever seen.

    Great Game, I loved it.
    I felt sad after finishing it.
    Not a 10/10 but sure 8-9/10. ( Gonna stick with the 9 cause of all the hate)
    It a good Game, it’s beautiful game, it’s a great experience. I can understand the hate, ND did/tried something New and I personally enjoyed it but it’s my opinion.

    why can't people gave an actual assessment over this game? oh right, they're just "Gamers" they wouldn't even care to know why it's a torture to play as abby, all they wanna know is "is it realistic? how come abby get so buff? when do i get to save the princess? when do i get to kill the bad guys? you know what, i'm going back to fortnite". Aside from the narrative, this game shows aesthetically pleasing details, another breakthrough in-game tech mechanics, and multiple satisfying character animations. All in all, a game with this caliber has to be another cult classic in a video gaming industry just like it's prequel.

    Imagine if turns out you can't relate to a character/protagonist in the game...
    Nah, that wouldn't be possible! that would be a sign of a bad game right?

It is a brilliantly made game with a few bits of fat on it that could be trimmed down. Overall the cut scenes, graphics, story telling and settings are 10/10. Characters feel alive in this world. Gameplay is very much the same as the first game, with a few more added extras but it is noticeably the Last of us gameplay. Overall Brilliant, rivalling all time great games like The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Mass Effect 2 and of course the 1st Last of Us game.… Expand

    I don't like TLoU: Part I, actualy i think the first part is overrated and this is just a good game.
    But TLoU: Part II is great, I made a short list of "+" and "-". What's good: + Grafics + Animations + Art design + Cutscense and actors + Gameplay, much deeper stealth, perks and custmizetion for weapon + Exploring + Allote of different arens for    Be me, Eastern Europe, Ukraine.
    I don't like TLoU: Part I, actualy i think the first part is overrated and this is just a good game.

    +/- Story (i really liked it, but i can understand if somebody don't)
    +/- Only few bosses (actually there are only 1 real bossfight)
    +/- Only few big locations for deep, long exploring
    +/- Game is really long ( id like it, but if you try to play 24/7 you will be tiered and lost interested)
    Now what's bad in this game:
    - Some characters had not so much screentime
    - Encounters with infected is not so interested

    So i guess thats all.
    My score is 8.5, but I really enjoyed it so 9.    … Expand

Han pasado 4 años en la historia y deben existir cambios en ellos. No es una serie de gente excepcional con habilidades únicas... Son personas sobreviviendo a los rastros de una pandemia... I went into this game thinking it was not gonna be good because of what people were saying during pre-release and after the first week of release but I still decided to give it a chance...I felt that after what they did in the first one they deserved at least that much. And let me tell you I was not disappointed, sure I was sad watching my favorite character from the original game die right at the beginning but the story that followed even though not as good as the first one was still a very entertaining although brutal experience. And the whole experience playing as Abby worked for me, even though I wanted her and all of her group dead because of what they did I couldn't help but start to like her and Owen by the end of her side of the story. And when it came down to the final fight all the motivation I had to kill her was gone, after what they had gone through I just felt that there was nothing to gain but still a lot to lose from any of them dying. I don't think it's a bad story but it sure as hell is a sad one especially for Ellie and Tommy who basically are left alone and "broken" in the end. But like I said it is not a bad story at all if you are willing to think about everything that happens and not just what happens in THAT cutscene. In terms of gameplay it improved from the first game even though the shooting still isn't my favorite. I won't say that the people who didn't like the story are wrong because everybody has different tastes but saying it's complete garbage after playing like an hour of it is just wrong and unfair for the people that worked on this game for years. For me this is a must buy just like the first and I hope they make a third.… Expand

You guys can't ignore the other aspects like graphics, characters, environments, scripts, acting, details, etc. Naughty dog clearly nailed it. I agree many of the players are dissapointed with the story, but you can't rate the game 0, 1, 2 for having aI'm rating this game a 9 because I want to be honest.     Man oh man, what a beautifully brutal ride this game was. Just finished it and I did not expect it to be as long as it was. The story was full of heart wrenching moments that gave me the feels more than once.
    Gameplay was the best I've seen in a long time, with brutal combat that never gets old. Thank you Naughty dog for this experience.

This game is a beautiful masterpiece that i enjoyed from start to finished. It sucks that joel died but everybody is vulnerable in the Lou universe.     This game has great user experience, the combat system, graphics, sound effects are top notch, much darker story than the original. If new to the series then you will love it, if you played the original then you will have issues with the story. Regardless a great game.

    Having played this game all the way through, I am unsure as to why it is getting all this hate. The first TLOU was possibly my favourite game of all time- tied with a few other titles - And I eagerly awaited the second game, to the point where I pre-ordered it from Amazon a full 2 and a half years before it arrived at my house. Not only did I love the story, but loved the multiplayer asHaving played this game all the way through, I am unsure as to why it is getting all this hate. Not only did I love the story, but loved the multiplayer as well. Now to this game. I can understand people’s frustration with how some characters are dealt with at the beginning of the game. I can also understand why some people would feel that ND are just churning out a narrative for the lesbian and trans community. Some of the stuff is a little on the nose in terms of it being obvious that they are doing it almost for the sake of it. HOWEVER, the issues they are putting in the game aren’t imaginary, such as homophobia and transphobia. And unfortunately people who experience this need to have their voices heard, and this includes in being referenced in popular culture. People would not experience or even see issues some of these groups of people deal with without being shown it in games, or movies, or television. So yeah, unfortunately it feels a little bit like naughty dog pushed a narrative, but people need to grow up as there are more important things than you being annoyed at a character being a lesbian.

    I enjoyed the twists in this game, and enjoyed the game play. Graphics are beautiful, and the way the world is developed and laid out is frankly spectacular. The story may feel a little forced, and people keep screaming “plot holes” but I don’t think there are to the point that it’s worth writing online articles about.

    Overall, I think this game was worth it. Especially if you treat it a bit as a stand-alone game. If you spend your time exploring and trying to find all the collectibles, it is an amazing game. Don’t listen to the people who definitely haven’t completed it, and have already written negative reviews.    … Expand

    This game is a masterpiece, it takes a deep dive into raw emotions, actions and consequences as the story rapidly accelerates. Its sad, uncomfortable, scary and I LOVED IT.

    I would highly recommend refreshing your memory from the last game, this is a direct sequel.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Eu amei o game, faltou pouca coisa pra ser perfeito, o gameplay teve um upgrade em relação ao primeiro e é satisfatório. A história eu gostei bastante, entendo a frustração do pessoal, mas a lição as vezes não vem do que queremos e sim do que não esperamos. Ao final do jogo da Ellie após o que acontece com Owen e Mel eu já sentia que a jornanda não valeu a pena.
    Quanto a Abby faltou uma construção pequena pra ligar ela as crianças, algum diário dizendo que elas estava pensando, pois só o sonho e algumas falas não foi suficiente, mas ainda é uma jornada interessante e difícil de aguentar como foi da Ellie.
    Santa Barbara foi muito importante pois eu queria um novo encontro e independente do fim que Ellie escolheria eu queria Abby livre de alguma forma.

    Sobre a lição do game, a vingança não traria Joel de volta e fez Ellie perder tudo inclusive os dedos que impede de tocar o vilão que era uma forte ligação ao Joel, mas sobrou uma coisa. A vida, Joel deu ela isso e eu acredito que ela vai viver isso da melhor maneira já que foi o que sobrou.
    Abby também buscou a vingança e conseguiu mas ela perdeu tudo quase tudo no fim, mas diferente de Ellie que nem Dina esteve por ela mais, ela encontrou o Lev uma razão pra viver e proteger, uma nova família.

    Os temas por fora são bem abordados, preconceito de um modo geral é bem trabalhado no caso de indentidade de genêro e origentação sexual. Fico triste que isso tenha gerado reações negativas mas ao meu ver game ganhou muitos mais pontos com isso.

Playing as both Ellie and Abby was very surprising and after being stunned 2 and a half hours into it, I couldn’t get enough. The ending was different, but I certainly didn’t hate it. If there's one word to describe this game, I would say it would be "brutal" because every punch, shot, and explosion feels so real and guttural. The enemies call out eachothers names whenever one is killed, the dogs whimper and shake when dying. The game is just so nihilistic and real and I love it so much. For the story, I really enjoyed it. The whole concept of 2 parallel stories going on at once was really interesting. I think that this is one of the only games where I felt like, along with the characters, I was having my own character development, trying to figure out which characters I liked, which characters I didn't, and what was right and wrong. The game is really enjoyable, and once I finished it's roughly 22 hour campaign, I felt satisfied by the game's story and the direction it took it. The only reason that the game is not getting a 10/10 for me is because I felt like some parts felt rushed, and some parts dragged along for a bit more than they needed to. Overall, if you have a PS4, do buy this game. It looks phenomenal and is well worth the $59.99.… Expand

Es un gran juego y puedo entender por que hay gente molesta pero esto no es un fan service, en general es una historia cruel para todos los personajes ya que la mayoría mueren y sobretodo para los principales Ellie y Abby, la muerte de Joel al inicio del juego impacta bastante y te hace odiar a Abby y luego cuando te ponen a jugarr con ella causa cierta molestia pero creo que es un gran punto ya que te hacen ver que no hay buenos y malos solo personas afectadas por todos los acontecimientos y repito entiendo las molestias pero eso no merece todo el hate que le estan dando, como decía esto no es un fan service es una historia bastante trágica y el final te deja con un sabor amargo.… Expand

I honestly had to take the time to digest what I’ve witnessed during my 21hr play through. The game is what it is. It’s not perfect the story is debatable on what you take from it. Whether you believe they should have kept Joel alive or killed him. The story throwing you into a character that took the life of a character we’ve only been waiting seven years to get back in the control of, which I won’t lie it boiled me up from the moment it happened. The game is beautiful, the gameplay is even better. I love every moment of feeling that if I make one wrong move I’m gonna end up getting killed. The non infected characters (Scars, WLF) etc. are intelligent in their attempts to see you die. Crawling around and staying out of sight trying to lead dogs away from your scent and picking each enemy off one by one. But when things go pear shaped the enemies attack you relentlessly and reacted to each other being killed by shouting their names. I honestly think the gameplay made up for a lot of the story. The cutscenes are very long and sometimes drag a bit. I felt like i was itching all the time to jump back into gameplay. We got to witness Ellie face a lot of adversities during her 3 days in Seattle but she ultimately came out of this on the worse end and loses absolutely everything. When the credits role I felt like is that it? I spent twenty one hours playing to just end up with one of the worst endings in a game ever. Yes, I get it Ellie couldn’t live with herself not revenging or gaining closure for someone she held so dear as her father figure. I think this game is something everyone should experience as a playstation gamer it’s the tip of the mountain of how far this current gen can push the console to its limits. This isn’t for everyone and it’s not the first game in anyway. But look everyone has the right to their own opinions so go enjoy the game.

    This is a Naughty Dog quality game - through and through. Every single person I know that has given it a chance puts it in high regard. Stop joining the hype train of hate when you haven't picked up the controller yourself... I guarantee that if you play for yourself, you'll understand how ridiculous these low rating clowns are.

I know lots of people were mad about Joel dying but his death is used as a means to drive the plot forward and develop Ellie as a character. I had the ending to the game accidentally spoiled for me. So I was kinda of treading it but by the time I got there I couldn't be happier with it. At the start of abbeys story I was so annoyed by it. This game shows you why both sides (and there are many sides between Ellie vs Abby, Scars vs Wolves, and so forth) believe more than anything that what they are doing is right and justified. This game shows you that the world is grayer than you think and sometimes to see what is actually right and wrong in a situation you have to consider the other side as well as your own. We are a world divided just like in this game. We are republican’s vs democrats. We are Christians vs non-Christians. We are mask wearers vs non mask wears. We are Trump supporters vs non-Trump supporters. We are just always fighting and divided. We never take the time to understand the other side and see where they are coming from. To see that in this world there is no clear-cut lines pointing to what is right and what is wrong. Every situation is different just like every person is different. This is the type of message we need to be having in this divided world. We need to take the time to walk in each other’s shoes and see the situation from another perspective. Only then can we truly respect each other and make a difference in this world. So again, Naughty Dog thank you so much for taking the risk that you did on this game to give us a story that we truly needed. Am I sad and emotional? Most definitely! But the journey was amazing, thoughtful, engaging, and so damn realistic even for a zombie-type game. Showing us that there are no good guys and bad guys but just people.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’m not even going to lie, after finishing this game I absolutely hated it. I hated how they killed Joel, Jesse, and even let Abby escape. But after sitting on the ending for about a week, I started to understand more about some of the decisions. However, it would be foolish to say that everyone is going to love this game. Even people who loved the first game like me might despise this game. I’m going to go through some initial thoughts about major story beats, both of how I felt as it happened and after thought.

    First, I want to go through my initial thoughts of two things. The death of beloved Joel. At first I was in major disbelief of how they had done it, angered to the point where I didn’t play it for the rest of the day. And with the ending, I was so confused of how it went. Abby... got away? Why? Why did she let her just go after seeing Joel? Wouldn’t that anger her even more?

    After I finished the game, I thought about it for about a week. And the more I thought about it, the more I loved it. First, Joel’s death. Through playing as Abby, I was able to understand her humanity, saving Lev and restoring her humanity through him. Like Joel, she learns to love Lev like a brother and cares for him. She even seemed like Ellie in many parts, with her humor and overall attitude. And the ending. I’m not completely clear on it, but here’s what I believe. I think that Ellie saw the huge mistake of killing Joel. But, she sees the vision of Joel on the porch, where she told him that she wants to try to forgive him. Perhaps she wanted to forgive Abby for what she had done like she was going to do with Joel. She was able to see a good side of Abby through Lev, and decided to let her go. And maybe she knew that is she were to kill Abby, Lev would get into the same situation as Ellie was in with Joel. So she decided to end the cycle of violence and take the pain. And by leaving Joel’s guitar and her paintings, she’s deciding to leave what she knows to become a better person for Dina and JJ.

    But even disregarding that, the gameplay of this game is masterclass. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s so smooth that it almost seems real. The acting is even better, with performances from Ashley Johnson and Shannon Woodward. Both heartbreaking and heartwarming at times, both are some of the best I’ve seen in a long time.

    In conclusion, this game is one that isn’t just going to seem fun all the time or just be surface fun like the Uncharted games (not saying there’s anything wrong with that, I love the Uncharted series) but it’s a game that might disgust you, even anger you at times. But after thinking about a lot of things, it feels like one of the most unforgettable experiences you’ll go through. It’s my GOTY.    … Expand

The technical quality , playability and the IA are amazing; so many chapters make me so tense and my heart almost stop..this is a wonderful work (art) but i think the history could be tell us with an another perspective. Beautiful game perfect in almost all aspects, the problem everyone had with this game is the expectation on the story being better than Part 1, which probably will not happen in a long while because it's so good, the journey of Ellie into darkness and becoming the villain of sorts and then the journey of Abby after meeting Lev is great, most people who rated this game under 5 because of the story are not being objective and mostly taking over mass histeria without probably putting to much time to the game, this game has better story and characters than Assassin's Creed Origins and Horizon put together, and the same people giving less than 5 to this game gave around 8 to these 2 games, so there's clearly resentment to either LGTB content which doesn't affect the storyline, or can't get pass a good story just because their favorite character gets killed… Expand

The story was just as good as the first game in my opinion. Good characters that I got attached to. I started out hating Abby’s guts, but by the end of the game I actually think she was a better person than Ellie. I was impressed at the games ability to make me switch sides. I think a lot of the negative reviews of this game come from people who didn’t actually play the game. The only glaring weakness I noticed is the AI making dumb decisions, which is true for most games tbh.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is overall a great game, and I agree with everyone who says that the story is not better than the original. The first game was more self contained and its story was told in a more cohesive way. That being said, Part 2 expands on everything, improves where it must, and delivers an amazing experience whether you agree or disagree with it's key points.

    Joel dying is not wrong. Him trusting strangers is not wrong based on the assumption that he's been re-educating himself to trust strangers that surround Jackson, welcome and shelter them is part of what the whole community is based upon.

    Abby's side of the story is compelling, but I agree with the fact that it might drag a little bit more than necessary. However, you grow to UNDERSTAND her side of the story, and the game doesn't ever force you to like her, the game knows that you know what she did and doesn't intend to dictate how you see her by the end of her section or the game itself. You can absolutely hate her by the end as well, and even if you do that, you're still within the spectrum intended by the storytellers.

    Ellie is great, and she's not mono-dimensional. At the beginning she really has lost purpose, because she knows that her immunity will not amount to anything because Joel took that away from her. The death of her only father figure gives her a new purpose, which is vengeance. However, the game shows you the path of vengeance, how little by little you can be consumed by anger and rage, and thirst for revenge. She's mostly angry at herself for not being able to set aside her disdain for Joel in time and have more time with him, angry for not being strong/smart enough to help him on his last moments. She then gets a second chance with Dina and JJ, and she's still hasn't broken the cycle of violence and vengeance, and feels that the only way to overcome those feelings is by killing the person who set these events in motion, ignoring that in the end, it was Joel himself who set them at the end of Part 1.

    The secondary characters offer development for Ellie and Abby, especially the latter, who we've never met. This is where most people have issues: feeling that spending time with Abby was unnecessary, or dragged; and while I mildly agree with the dragging part, I feel that it was needed for the story that we knew who Abby was and what her life was before and after Joel killed his father.

    At the end, whether you hate Abby or not, whether you agree with Ellie letting Abby and Lev go or not, Joel and Tommy appealing naive in front of Abby and her friends or not; you can't deny that the game told its story, and told it well for the most part. Even if you didn't even like the game to its core, the decisions made by the developers are justified, and they pay off by evoking conversation and emotion from the player.

Fue lindo recordarlo a través de flashbacks, pero creo que no debería haber muerto tan rápido.     I’m not sure where the story complaints come from. It was a human story in the world Naughty Dog created for The Last of Us. Great characters and motivations. Particularly poignant to show that things aren’t black and white, but various shades of grey.

    Gameplay was tweaked slightly from the first one with no major changes. Felt very much like a “Part 2” rather than a true sequel.

    I honestly came to love and appreciate the game. Neil Druckmann and his team did an absolutely stunning job with this game.

    Yeah I also hated the fact that I had to play Abby but, throughout her play she reminded me of Joel. No, I don't agree with what she did to Joel and I hated her at the beginning too BUT I came to understand that she blamed Joel not just for her father's death but that there was no cure and that she was left without the Fireflies too. Like how Joel softened up for Ellie, she softened up for Lev and Yara. Joel tortured people in the first game to find Ellie and she tortured Joel. We saw parts of Ellie's, Joel's, and Abby's lives. We didn't see if Joel went after the military to avenge Sarah, Tommy said that he and Joel did horrible things and he wish he didn't survive those early years.

    Personally, I believe you should not hate the game just because of Abby. The entire plot is about revenge and never knowing or understanding the other side of the situation. The game showed the true harshness of surviving in a post-apocalyptic world, that you do all that you can to survive and protect those you care about. Revenge is a game where you never win it all but, you can lose it all.

    P.S. that last scene where Abby is carrying Lev and Ellie is looking at them from behind reminded me of Joel carrying Sarah.    … Expand

Also, this game was SO BEAUTIFUL. the graphics for this game were off the chart, and the sound design was spectacular.    This game was hard to play. It often was not fun, was incredibly stressful, and felt unfocused in its plot.

    Unpopular opinion- this game is great. The graphics are AMAZING and the gameplay too. The only thing that lacks slightly is the storyline. Another unpopular opinion, I loved abby. Also love that they made Ellie a lesbian, but the amount of homophobia in some of these ratings is disgusting.

Ce jeu m'a complètement rendu fou, m'a énervé à me faire jouer un antagoniste, au point même d'avoir hâte de rejouer Ellie pour achever sa vengeance... jusqu'à ce que je compatisse pour Abby et change de pount de vue! Sinon il est magnifique graphiquement parlant, la bande son et le soud design sont très réussis et une mention spéciale aux animations faciales!

I’m writing this review due to the hate this game is getting I understand the dislike of story but it’s not a 4/10 in any way the game has so many pros from gameplay, design, sound and AI is so well done it’s unreal & the story which I admit I understand why people dislike but for me it was brilliant & made perfect sense with a few strange moments also the character which people hate I generally started to understand and rooted for her. So in my opinion the game really shouldn’t have less then 7/10 just because you dislike the story doesn’t mean it’s a bad game overall.… Expand

    Extremely thought provoking. Keeps you guessing the whole game, even with seeing some pre release spoilers. Lots of twists & turns. I did not agree or like some parts of the game, but when reaching the end of the game it came to a full circle and all made sense. Amazing game

The game offers incredible graphic details and some of the best facial animations i've ever seen, an incredible scenary and a very good narrative and storytelling, the game's story is about thorough understanding of what a cycle of revenge can do to a person's soul and the players can see how this brings the main characters to lose all they hold dear, the game does a good job is making you understand the motivation of both characters you play it through and even though you might not sympathize with Abby, out of affection for joel from the previous game, you have to indeed agree that she had a valid reason for what she did. overall, a wonderful game that i would suggest to any friend if asked to.… Expand

    Perhaps this is the first game after RDR 2, which caused me a lot of different emotions. Thanks to Naughty Dog Studios for the tremendous work and amazing trip.

    I experienced a lot of emotions in this game.
    i haven't seen so many emotions in one game.
    I think the whole time:
    My heart would break if ellie or abby die, so strong feelings i never experience in a video game.

    With the hate that this game was getting I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did, it does have its issues, particularly around the half way mark. I think it could have been doing with being a few hours shorter as well. People watching streamers play and complain their way through the game. Or people who played, got to the big early death and stormed off to write a review in the first two hours is what has given this game so many negative player review's.

    However I believe Naughty Dog has crafted a beautifuly tragic story about the cost of revenge and discovering what it truly means to be human. I applaud Naughty Dog to sticking to their artistic vsion and not appeasing the fans like the recent Star Wars film has done.

    The sound design, environments, combat dialogue and acting were some of the best I've ever seen in a video game. Accompanied by the veceral, authentic and out right tragic storytelling of Ellies revenge driven quest with the player truly feeling every action she makes alike beating nora to death or killing mel and discovering she's pregnant, you feel it as a player both in her pain and suffering each time.

    When playing as Abby I **** hated it for the first hour or so calling back to joels death and what she did but as you play her you discover that she is just like Ellie. Living in a settlement full of people that love and respect her, friends that would die for her and selfless acts the redeem her as a character and reveal that she isn't some monster just someone that lost her father alike Ellie lost her father figure.

    The sniper act during abbys game time was a perfect way of illustrating this dynamic, I felt myself getting really angry and honestly pissed at the sniper and after killing one of Abby friends I was furious before realising it was Tommy. It was at that moment I had a moment of clarity about the game that both Abbys and Ellies storys were profoundly the same and came to sympathize and recognize each of the characters humanity.

    During the final act if the game where Ellie and Abby were fighting i didn't want either of them to win nor to lose, I had come to understand and respect each of the charters even for killing joel as we had killed all of Abby friends too.

    And to have Ellie lose everything at the end of the game including Dina, Jesse, Tommy her 'son' and even her ability to play guitar along with joel in her mission of revenge was a profound but uniquely beautiful and symbolic way of climaixng part 2 of this series.

    My only gripe with the game was possibly the structuring and longevity of the game. I would have much rather a tighter more cohesive story but other than that this is a worthy successor to it's counter part.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
