Its something different and entirely unique and fits well into the first ones ending of who is bad and who is good. Dont go into the game expecting a rehash of the first game.     내 인생 최고의 작품. 호불호가 너무 강해서 이 게임에 분노하는 것은 이해 하지만 이렇게 평가가 갈리는걸 보고 있으면 다소 안타깝다고 생각한다. 개인적으로는 의심할바 없는 10점짜리 작품이었음.

    I've been waiting for this game for about 6 years now ever since I played first game in 2014 and I couldn't wait. The gameplay/graphics/mechanics was amazing. I was really immersed into the game and the new mechanics and the animations and everything was beautiful. It was easy to appreciate all the effort put into the details, scenery, cutscenes and the like, But when it comes to the story man.. At first, the story was doing fine but the part where you play as Abby, I just dreaded it and was so bored. It just didn't give me the same feeling I had in the first one. I just wanted to get over the Abby part and get to Ellie's already, basically hurrying up the looting and the like. I really hated Abby and honestly don't get how people sympathize with her and like her character, like I get where she's coming from, Joel killed her father, but then having to play her character for 10 **** hours and just pretend like she's not bad and sympathize with her. Let's not forget the fact that she has sex with a guy who has a girlfriend who's pregnant like wtf she's obviously cold-hearted and has no remorse on what she did and does. I at least tried to sympathize with Abby but nope it didn't work one bit. The first one was focused on Joel and Ellie's relationship and I loved the character development in the game, how Ellie would make lighthearted jokes during serious moments and stuff like that. But in the second one, however, it just disappoints you. The characters just don't feel the same anymore as the character development is not there. I understand that they killed Joel off and it didn't really stop me from playing, but obviously I was still very sad and bummed out by the fact that Joel dies, but the way naughty dog executed it is what made me dislike his death scene. The story is just infuriating and doesn't really make sense. The whole goal and point of the story, in the beginning, was to get revenge from Abby for killing Joel. You go through this really long journey and in the process, you lose some people like Jesse and more. Then you finally decide to back off and just live a normal life with your new family (Dina, and the baby), but then all of a sudden you decide to leave your family behind to kill Abby, but doing so will mean leaving Dina and JJ (the baby) behind. So skip to when you finally get caught up to Abby, instead of killing her you have a fight and it leads to her biting two of your fingers off, then you get the upper hand and almost drown her but decide not to because of a short flashback scene you remember. So now you let her go and go back to the house. Which is so stupid because she's basically back to square one where Abby's not dead, but Ellie gets the sad ending where she loses her family, her fingers, and Joel. Like WTF, it's so disappointing.

    I was really looking forward to playing and was genuinely excited, but the story will just get you annoyed and get you stressed. It doesn't feel the same as the first game and suggest you just watch it instead of playing because trust me it will give you a hard time mentally and emotionally. Especially if you're someone who loved the first last of us, this will ruin it for you.    … Expand

    The visuals and audio in the game are head and shoulders above it’s competition. They use sound expertly to build and release tension as well as create some real moments of horror. The set pieces are spectacular and awe-inspiring. This is what we’ve come to expect from perfectionists Naughty Dog.

    In terms of story, this game sets out to tell a very different one from the first. It’s gritty and often leaves the player feeling a sense of hopelessness. The story does have moments of light and dark but offers nowhere near as much light as the first entry in the series. Some may like this approach, whilst others might hate it. I personally loved the approach that they took with the game; the key element to the story pivoting around the idea of differing perspectives. Naughty Dog could’ve played it safe and made a predictable story that doesn’t bring any new ideas to the table.    … Expand

    it’s just boring to play this game, the story is stretched and this is the main problem, well, this LGBT propaganda during the apocalypse is out of place at all (calling a person a chauvinist at such a time is like telling a dog that she is a dog), but 5 points for the graphics and stylization of the locations, only because of them I suffered this game until the end

    I don't understand why ND hates the former protagonist so much. I mean, Neil's aversion to Ellie and Joel can be seen in many details of the game.

    Awful. Nothing to explain. I even prepared a ps4 pro for this game, but it seems like it's unnessasery. What's more, those political things reallllllly annoyed me.

    This game is a masterpiece... It bought out some complex emotions within me that i never felt a video game could achieve... Amazing yet intriguing and deliberately divisive story... A techincal marvel and so on... Like i said a 10/10 masterpiece!

    Total frustration. And all this SJW sh*t is not the biggest problem. Poor plot, not an interesting characters, alogical twists and actions, boring gameplay. I can commend great visual and good animation. But it's not enough for a game. You can't watch just on good graphics 30 hrs in a row.

The graphics, the score and the gameplay are some of the best that I've ever seen/heard. The only catch is the plot. Joel's death is far-fetched, as well as the ending, and playing as Abby for half of the game was extremely boring, not because of her sections itself, but just for the character, for which I have a profound contempt for and won't ever feel for her.
    Despite that, I really loved the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie. I think they are the most interesting thing out of the entire story.    … Expand

To top it off, we dont even get to kill Abby in the end, the only thing that would have made having to play as her for 10 hours worth the while. The gameplay and graphics are great, but the storyis unbearable. All I can do now is uninstall the game. If I had gotten a physical copy >'d break the disk, not sell it or gift it to someone, it's too unbearable of a game to burden someone else to play it.… Expand

Joel não vi problema em morrer, pelo contrário, achei boa a ideia. Mas não da maneira que foi feita aqui. Pra começar, o jogo tem várias quebras de ritmo. No começo parece malhação. Depois que o Joel morre, pensei que o jogo fosse começar de verdade. Mas não, o próximo trecho de gameplay é você passeando com a Ellie de cavalo conversando sobre a vida junto com a Dina. Isso é literalmente uma quebra de ritmo fodida, na minha opinião. Forçam você a gostar da Abby, mostrando que literalmente TODO mundo que você matou era uma pessoa que tinha uma vida, e que todo o ser humano comete erros, aquele típico papo de ver o outro lado. Cara, sempre fui um cara com muita empatia. Quando sou tóxico depois que mato alguém, me sinto mal. Achei super forçado esse negócio, principalmente por que eles minimizam diversas mortes de personagens super importantes (Tommy,Jesse) para favorecer a narrativa de que os personagens que a Ellie mata ao longo do game foram pessoas legais, como se os citados anteriormente fossem "piores, menos importantes". Senti que o game não passou a mensagem que existem dois lados, visto que, pelo menos pra mim, eles favorecem muito o lado da Abby. Inclusive, vi vários youtubers torcendo por ela. Olha, no primeiro jogo, me senti mal com diversas coisas que o Joel fez, e entendi que o que ele fez no final foi muito errado. Mas, veja, não precisei de outro ponto de vista pra entender isso, e isso fez eu amar ainda mais o personagem. Além de todos esses problemas, o final foi horrível. Vi muita gente falando "mas você queria o que, que a Abby morresse e o garoto ficasse sozinho?" SIM! ia deixar o game muito mais pesado e ia dizer que um siclo de vingança nunca tem fim, visto que o garoto com certeza ia querer se vingar da Ellie. Também vi muitas pessoas falando que, se a Ellie matasse a Abby, o jogo ia acabar com um "final feliz". Não ia, pois a Ellie, mesmo matando a Abby, teria perdido tudo, de um jeito ou de outro, e ia simbolizar mais ainda o que falei que, mesmo completando a vingança, ela perderia tudo, e a lição do jogo ia ser passada de uma maneira muito melhor. Os gráficos são ótimos, cenários incríveis, gameplay cansativa, assim como o do primeiro, porém não é ruim, funciona. Muitas pessoas falam "hur dur mas o jogo deveria ter uma nota maior que 3". Meu consagrado, cada um acha uma coisa, e eu acho que a história é algo muito importante para um jogo, principalmente para a continuação de The Last, um jogo com uma história incrível. Enfim, foi só a minha opinião, cada um pensa do jeito que quiser. Se você achou que esse negócio de proporcionar emoções funcionou, ok, só quero que muitos entendam: funcionou pra você, não pra mim e pra muitos também. Abçs.… Expand

    The game as a whole was an upgrade on the original. Graphically stunning and various improvements on combat and various elements which made the first game so fun and successful. The story however was confusing. Playing as the main character Ellie on a revenge mission was a little cliche but worked well. My big problem with this game was the idea of playing with a character who Ellie is trying to gain revenge on. This character is detestable after her acts early in the game and for whatever reason we have to play roughly 10 hours with this character with naughty dog trying to force it down our throats this character isn’t too bad really. That unfortunately was not going to work which made the story quite bad unfortunately. The parts as Ellie were perfect and fine if the game followed along that path then the story would have been fine. An 8 out of 10 seems fair all things considered.… Expand

Story definitely not going to please everyone, but try to move past the expectations you have coming into the game and give it a shot and you may enjoy it. Though "enjoy" might not be the right word since this is one of the bleakest games ever. Still, I personally liked the nuances of the story and found it deeply engaging, heartbreaking, and intense. They took a lot of risks with this story, and while not all of them pay off, I think overall they succeeded.
    Other than the story, which has understandably divided fans, everything else is top notch as expected. I've always loved TLOU gameplay, and this just improves everything I liked. Graphics, music, sound design, acting, all top notch.
    Still, I will say, Last of Us 1 is my favorite game, and this one doesn't come close to it, though it's hard to beat one of the best games ever made. Additionally if you loved the first game, it is hard to play this one and see all the characters you love go through absolute hell, and I get why people don't like it. I still think it's worth playing and forming your own opinions on it. And in the end if you don't enjoy it, that's fine have you're opinion just like I have mine, just don't be a jerk about it like so many are right now.    … Expand

The Game play is almost Perfect and improved over the Original, Could not put the Game down, same as the Original. So much Fun to play. THE STORY IS TRASH, and this is almost the complete Consensus of Fans. Joel dying was to be expected and that's fine! BUT and playing as Abby wasn't ideal, BUT the one thing that destroyed the game for Me, and Everyone it would appear is what the did to Ellie. They completely destroyed Ellie, the ruined her Life, she let the people she loved go, and she can't even play the Guitar now, so sad and disappointing. FIX THE STORY WITH DLC IT'S YOUR LAST CHANCE NAUGHTYDOG!… Expand

    The game is a punch in the face for all fans of the first game. U have to play the murderer of joel for 50% of the playtime. Story is **** like in the new star wars movies. New characters that no one needs and the game forces u with positive backround storys to like them. All in all dont ever buy.     A forma como se dá a morte, através de linchamento, crueldade e desrespeito, coloca Abby definitivamente como vilã de forma irrevogável. O fato de sermos obrigados a jogar com    Cena fora de contexto da morte de Joel, já que ele e seu irmão fornecem todas as informações para um grupo de desconhecidos. I really enjoyed playing this game, it forced you to realize that the people you kill in the game are much more than an enemy without feelings. It makes me sad that people are too upset over the death of Joel to see how refreshing it was to see the story from the other side. A concept that is rarely explored in games.
    It was such a long time ago since i played the first game that I don't feel too bad about Joel dyeing or having to hurt Ellie whilst playing as Abby. So maybe that's why I didn't mind the story. But I also felt that Abby was just as justified in her actions as Joel and Ellie were. I guess I would have made the story a bit different myself but like I said, the change of perspective was really fun. That type of storytelling have a special place in my heart and I have a hard time agreeing with people who are too upset about Joel's death to see any positives in the story. I also feel as if they are missing the point of why Ellie didn't end up killing Abby. Just as we saw how every story has more than one side to it, so did Ellie. So in the end she couldn't justify Abby. And to me, that was the message of the game.

    LOVED this game. Had the same feeling as the original, but managed to be completely different. The twists were awesome. The whole switch of who is the good guy and who is the bad guy was really really good. Graphics were perfect. 10/10 for me.

    The game is far from a “masterpiece”, it definitely has many issues in its story, specially regarding to Abby. However, the gameplay is super enjoyable, the animations are the best I’ve ever seen, the music is amazing and levels are fun.
    It the game wouldn’t have disrespected some characters and forced us play as Abby, it would have been better than the original, it’s a shame.

    The game as part 2 does'nt work. They deconstructed the main character, to give space for an not original unrevenge script. We would only like a cohesive story with the two parts, but Naughty dog's crew just only followed the flow of Game of Thrones in **** in the history like they wanted. Gameplay, sounds and graphics is amazing. 5/10 is a great note to a history write with lazy in a hurry.

Instead its successor seems hellbent, determined to undo the first game in literal ways as well as metaphorical but I digress for spoiler reasons. It is so unfortunate to see my fellow gamers echoing and sympathizing with these sentiments on other open platforms and this game to still have received such a high score by critics - the truth is this game sits at a 6 or 7 and that would be for someone unfamiliar with the first game. But what is more unfortunate, if you play the first game after playing this - it won't make any damn sense.

    Something is very wrong. We've forgotten how to write. GoT after Martin. The soap opera that became the Walking Dead. The endless amount of content is not necessary if you don't tell your story well. The creative forces behind Naughty Dog sound genuine and I don't want to be dismissive of their good intentions but... whatever the message, moral or meaning of this journey was - was just unnecessary, confusing and forgettable. Go read or watch "The Road" instead and please don't hide behind various movements to justify your bad story telling, your poor product.     Gameplay is meh, I’ve encountered several glitches, AI seems to see through walls pretty often and could use improvement. Beautiful graphics. Unfortunately the story sucks. Also entering uncanny valley territory where the faces sometimes look downright creepy. Graphics just aren’t there yet.

    This game is filled with stunning visuals, great voice acting, smooth transitions, and intuitive gameplay. Unfortunately, this is a story based game and quite frankly the story is bad. The first game was about redemption, rebuilding a broken and terrible man into a decent human being who becomes the father figure of a scared and lonely girl. Her light, helps to rebuild Joel and make him probably the most loved father figure character in gaming. Then the writers completely destroy that very early in the second game. Ellie treats him poorly and she cannot relate to the fact that he loves her and wants to protect her like a father would. She pushes him away at every opportunity. The release timing on this game couldn’t have been worse, Father’s Day weekend...WOW...you want to destroy a beloved father on Father’s Day weekend...unbelievable!

    Most fans expected that Joel would die in the sequel. My problem is not that he dies, but rather, how he dies. Torture? Really? I understand Abby wanting revenge for her fathers death, but the torture was not warranted. We are supposed to be ok with this and then you want us to play more than half the game as Abby. We HATE Abby for torturing and killing Joel. There can be no redemption story here. The writers have overreached in thinking that players would accept Abby after this. We’ve spent hours upon hours of playing as Joel and Ellie and have grown to love him. You can’t possibly torture one of them and not expect a visceral reaction.

    I was ready to quit playing when the game started to make me play as Abby, but my love for the first game made me see this one through to the end. There were too many subtleties to mention here about how the writers attempted to make Abby the good guy and Ellie the bad guy...Abby loves dogs, Ellie kills dogs, Etc. I absolutely hated playing as Abby.

    The game did have some good moments. The flashback to Joel taking Ellie for a birthday surprise was excellent. It was thoughtful, meaningful, and heartfelt. It really was special.

    There was a point near the end that I thought some sort of overall story redemption could happen, but it didn’t, it got worse. When Ellie rescued Abby and Lev at the end I thought “hey, this would be a great time for Ellie to see it wasn’t worth it and Abby’s concern for Lev was worth letting her live and leave in peace”. Instead, the writers created one of the most brutal fight scenes I’ve had to play. I was begging for it to stop. I hated what they turned Ellie into. THAT’S NOT ELLIE!

    I’m appalled at what the writers have done to these beloved characters. I play games for enjoyment. Think of it as a mini-escape from real life. I don’t need ugly terrible lessons shoved down my throat. This game was a hard and terrible pill to swallow. I wish now that I didn’t finish the game. They have ruined the story line for me. I started a new game+, but have found that I just am not interested. I’ve replayed the first game at least a dozen times on 2 platforms, I won’t be playing The Last Of Us 2 again. That really saddens me. They’ve ruined the franchise. If they make a part 3, I won’t buy it. They lied to us over and over in the lead up to part 2. I can’t trust them again. So, they may have ruined the Naughty Dog name as well. I am beyond sad about this game.

    By the way, if Druckmann wants to player to feel something for the character that killed Joel, he is in a bad way showing us an intense and kinda awkward sex scene. But Abby is forced character that even in the end doesn't pay for her actions.

    But flashbacks (Ellie and Joel, of course) are the best and at the same time GREAT part of the game, and that's what The Last of Us was always about, a beautiful love story between two lost people in a destroyed world, people who lost every reason to live but they're forced to keep walking in the world, but they're not alone anymore once they find each other. That's The Last of Us and Neil Druckmann seems to understand that when he wrote flashbacks along with Halley Gross. But when we go to present story seems to go worse after some great flashbacks.

    Shannon Woodward as Dina is great, I don't know if maybe it's because of her voice or because the way character is written, to be a kind, sweet and at the same time strong character. She is great.

    If Neil Druckmann wouildn't decided to go with a hate, revenge and consequences story we might have another great game, however it's not the case. And we get to a terrible conclusion, where the whole journey of Ellie becomes pointless, stupid, awful. Wish I could talk a little bit more about this, but in the end if we remove the moment where she decides to let Abby go we might have a good ending where the character finally finished her journey. But of course, that's not happening.

    Sadly we can't say it's a great game when story is just terrible, but if you're not a fan of The Last of Us you'll have a great game that will offer you a long and great experience. But if that's not the case you will just hate it.

    It is a beautiful game with amazing graphics and landscapes, some awesome features and great moments throughout the story (Ellie "take on me" for example). However I can't help but think that the story could be better, I don't think this is a bad game, but I cannot agree with those who say it is as good as the first or that this is a 10/10 masterpiece.

Is the last of us part II a game that is perfect and a true game of the generation? I honestly don't think so. Is this game great and worth playing for every PS4 owner? Hell yea. These days we are not getting a lot of single-player narrative focused games without an open world. We should be thankful for this game beacuse it's one of few that are like that. I don't understand the people that are angry about the story, about how they killed theirs favourite characters. This isn't a story in which you think wow this character is the good one and this one is bad one I hate the bad one and love the good one. Everyone is a scumbag, everyone has a reason to be a scumbag. Ellie got her Father figure killed, but Abby had her real Dad killed by Joel, Joel not only killed her father but Joel made saving the world from the Infected impossible. Everyone has their reason but everyone is driven by the need to revenge, and that is never good. Overall the gameplay is still great for people that liked TLOU 1. And the graphics are just incredible. I don't think that for most people this game will be a game of generation, for me personally it is not, but it is hell of a game, and one of the best I played.… Expand

Why did the developers think anyone would want to play as abby, or give a **** about her (and the other characters) when she brutally tortured and killed a character everyone liked. For a choice that everyone understands. And the way he died is unbelieveable. I would have wanted to see way more of the way Joel and Ellies relation progressed after the prequel. The story was heavily criticized, and so was the gameplay. However, upon playing the game i realized that most what everyone complained about was the fact that they lost Joel. They acted as if he was a Saint but in reality he wasn't. Yes I loved the character but he did bad things a d and the game did justice. The story wasn't even bad. Only problems I had with it is how easy Abby turned on the WLFs, the fact that they had Abby kill Joel in the first couple hours felt like a let down, as they portrayed Joel as a part of the story in the trailers which felt like an advertisement lie.

    Asides from that. The game play was more than awesome, the gore levels are very realistic to compared to other games, the characters are actually good. Personally i feel like lots of those negative reviews stem from homophobic reasons    … Expand

    First, I don't think it ruins the first game. it COMPLETELY destroys the reputation of the the series, but doesn't make the original less of a masterpiece. Second, the graphics are amazing, but by this point, Naughty Dog is the CEO of good visuals of this decade, so good. And third, this should have never happened. Seven years ago when I was a dumb kid, I wish so hard that it had a sequel, but as time passed, I understood that good things doesn't come in filled buckets. So I think it would have been best if this never happened, like many streamers and youtubers seem to agree on.

    Let's talk about gameplay, graphics and story, that are the prime of naughty dog as a company.

    Gameplay: Naughty dog can't make a stealth game even if their life depended on it. And since this is the proper approach for completing the game, I'll have to **** on it. In a Stealth game, it can go two ways. Or the enemies are so stupid that you can have fun just messing with the AI, OR is too good that you have to exploit it knowing they will do exactly that because they are so perfect. And this game is the second option but in a weird way. You can pick up a zombie/human, alone, but if he turns half a centimeter to you, you enter a combat animation, alerting all the others around you, and making your dumbass partner start shooting. It's absolutely frustrating, if you played or even watched, you know what am talking about. In the rest, THERE'S NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FIRST ONE. I think you even pick the weapons in the same order. NoriDog is good for action **** and I hope they stick with it.

    Graphics: They are amazing, I have nothing else to say. But giving games a high praise for the graphics alone is stupid. Graphics should combine with the tone of the game, like shovel night or team fortress 2, or create one for it, like cuphead or bendy. And it does a great job at using the realistic graphics to make us feel the despair in every scene. Good. And attention to detail is stupid. They are just doing because they know critics are going to give them a higher score for it. Is not like it matters in any category.

    Story: What can I say that hasn't been said by somebody else? Well. Imagine if Lee from TWD game survived the first season, but then got killed in place of Omid by that random chick in the bathroom. And the rest of the game is just you uneventfully trying to get revenge on her. Despite she having nothing against you, Nor does know you're coming after her. Thats it. But halfway the **** game you play like, what should had been a DLC, seeing the side of the antagonist. But by this point, you're so blood thirsty for Joel that you probably killed her several times for fun. Nobody likes the character. and her gameplay is mostly just action and LGBT **** which, by the way, don't buy it. If you're pregnant, don't go fight a civil war. And if you're trans, don't be crazy stupid and die just to prove a point.

    This game is probably the biggest deception you'll ever see in your life. But since is a very infamous game, you're just gonna admit it's bull**** and then forgot about it. I'll do that too, everyone shall and will. Goodbye Ellie and Joel, I hope the internet place you in a pedestal where you will receive the praise and love you both deserve, as any amazing character should.

    Ah, don’t believe the flock stuck in the 1-st TLOU, part 2 is great in that it touches different strings: it’s all about seeing one picture from different angles to truly evaluate it. The review-bombers failed at this.

    Absolutely adored the game. There were some moments in the second act of the story that dragged for me but ultimately it was fantastic. Gameplay is great, combining elements from the first game with brand new techniques, moves and styles. New styles of infected are terrifying and the different settings have so much to explore in them

    The people who dislike this game are the people who like to go to Marvel movies because they get to see their favorite characters do predictable things and triumph in the end.

The characters you love are not necessarily good, the characters you hate are not necessarily bad. It's hard to get too in-depth without spoiling anything, but it's one of the most challenging, eye-opening and unforgettable experiences I've ever had in a video game. Gameplay and graphics were vastly improved over the first game and the story was new and unique. Not everyone will agree with the direction they take the story, but in my opinion the character development, even with new the characters was superb. Awful game. Joel’s death was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in a game. Terrible game especially if you played and enjoyed the first one like me It’s awful and not worth $60… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
