Pq que encheção de saco Joel morreu infelizmente mas vcs esperavam o que de um cara que já matou muita gente e bateu de frente com diferentes grupos?     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. el final es una decepción osea matas a todo el mundo hasta a una mujer embarazada pero no podes matar a abby encima todos los hombres mueren y el que sobrevive quedo echo una piltrafa coja y tuerta el gameplay es bueno pero despues de un rato se vuelve repetitivo y desdeñaron los personajes del primer juego cambiando su comportamiento y convicciones ya que tommy siempre priorizo tanto la ciudad como su familia en el primero nada que ver con este tommy que quiere la venganza antes que la ciudad cuando ni siquiera acompaño a su hermano a la cueva de las luciérnagas por proteger su ciudad que esa es otra en el 1 el era el jefe de la ciudad y en el 2 es uno mas, cuando en el uno se queda claro que el es el jefe de esa ciudad y ahora no solo ya no manda si no que le dieron el mando a su "mujer" y encima se separa cuando esta todo arruinado la historia es cualquier cosa mi recomendacion comprenlo de segunda mano o digital en cuenta secundaria que no lo vuelven a jugar es de esos juegos que solo pasas una vez, lo termine por que me gusta el uno y queria saber como iba este pero es un juego que decepciona… Expand

    Mecanicas divertida. Juego extenso, su historia abarca muchos aspectos importantes a nivel psicológico. Un par de bugs visuales pero que no afectaron la calidad de juego.

    I'm one of many players who really love 'THE LAST OF US' and the story telling wasn't bad. Actually, it's quite good.
    But I preferred to have more happy in the end. I really love Ellie and I wish there's harrier Ellie even she lose Joel.
    At least let Ellie and Dena stay together in the end. What I want to tell you is .. in final part of the game, the situation that Ellie chose to leave    I'm one of many players who really love 'THE LAST OF US' and the story telling wasn't bad. Actually, it's quite good.

    I think many of players want to choose by themselves which way they want to go.. leave Dena and family for revenge Abby or stay with Dena.
    Because I think many of us think that Ellie should leave bad memories behind and start over again before things get too late.
    Because in the end, the things I saw is very lonely and too sad for me and really feel pity for Ellie too.
    Don't get my opinion too serious but I wish the game go this way, the way that players chose their result.

    Naughty Dog has done it again . In an emotional rollercoaster this game sets the bar in graphics gameplay and storytelling. True masterpiece ane the best game I have ever played

    Great gameplay, a beautiful and immersive experience, and amazing storyline. Don't know why people say it's the worst game ever, a complete exaggeration and disrespect for the developers that clearly put a lot of work and love into this game and it's characters.

    Siempre finales felices, venganzas terminadas satisfactorias,historias de un bueno y un malo con la victoria siempre del protagonista.

    Este juego muestra una cruda realidad, si, un personaje legendario puede morir a palos, pero eso es lo que lo hace más real y más humano. Abby también es humana, tenía sus razones es lo que intenta transmitir el juego.

    Ellie decide no acabar su venganza porque iba a intentar perdonar a una persona que literalmente había obligado a la humanidad a escoger un camino pedregoso y accidentado por amor.

    Abby perdono la vida dos veces a Ellie, porque también estaba intentando redimirse. Ellie no debía matar a Abby ya sirvió su venganza matando a sus amigos.

    Lo que quiero decir, es que la vida es así, una puta mierda y es lo que transmite esta historia. Un golpe de dura realidad en la frente, que nos haga caer en la cuenta de que todos somos personas con nuestras motivaciones,errores.
    Que la vida es injusta, muy compleja y que en ocasiones luchamos por causas que provocan más daño que bien.

    Por eso a pesar de algún agujero en el argumento(y alguna parte tediosa) este juego me parece excelente en todos los apartados,innovador, arriesgado. Se aha atrevido a hacer lo que ninguna serie,película,juego no ha querido probar por miedo más que justificado dado lo que le está ocurriendo a este.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Mis expectativas eran altísimas por lo tanto que me había gustado la primera parte, aún así el juego me gustó. Tiene muchos errores como el problema de que mucha gente no llega a empatizar con el personaje de Abby (me incluyo). Partes que pudieron durar más como la de Santa Bárbara y hacer menos duraderas otras que no eran muy relevantes para la trama principal. La muerte de Joel pienso que aunque a muchos nos dolió sirvió para dar un hincapié inicial a la historia, pero pudieron haberlo hecho de otra forma, ya que Joel no confiaba en nadie y de repente confía en alguien que acababa de conocer. El final es desolador y profundo, me deja pensando y lo va a hacer por bastante tiempo más, eso es lo que a fin de cuentas me gusta y me da tristeza. También me pareció interesante la forma de contar la historia y como esta se va desarrollando junto con los escenarios, gráficamente es excelente tanto como en la jugabilidad y la banda sonora también. Los personajes me gustaron, tanto los nuevos como los de antes. La relación de Dina con Ellie es de lo que más me agrado y el nivel de detalle del juego como por ejemplo lo del libro de astronomía en la casa de Joel para poder hablar con Ellie es impresionante. La fotografía del juego, cada imagen y cuadro me encantan. Con sus errores y todo es un muy buen juego.… Expand

    I completed the game and felt that it deserves a 9/10. After a few days of thinking about the game and seeing other opinions, I am giving it a 10/10. It is a masterpiece!

    I went into TLOU 2 completely blind, without any spoilers, trailers, gameplay, leaks or anything out there before the release day. Personally, I prefer experiencing games, series, books and movies this way in order to    I completed the game and felt that it deserves a 9/10. After a few days of thinking about the game and seeing other opinions, I am giving it a 10/10. It is a masterpiece!

    I went into TLOU 2 completely blind, without any spoilers, trailers, gameplay, leaks or anything out there before the release day. Personally, I prefer experiencing games, series, books and movies this way in order to enjoy the full experience as the creators meant it.

    Back to the game, I am a big fan of the first game, I played it 4 times. I got the second game on release day and I loved it from start to finish. I wanted to explore as much as possible and It took me around 37 hours to finish it. After it, I wanted to see how the gaming community feels about it and how similar or different my thoughts compare to theirs. I started by watching critic reviews that turned out to be unanimously positive. After it, I proceeded to check the user scores and to my surprise it was averaging at 3.5 on Metacritic with more than 20k reviews in less than 2 days. This spiked my curiosity to understand this discrepancy, so I decided to read and listen to many opinions along several platforms like YouTube, News Articles, Metacritic.

    It took me almost a week to go through the most relevant opinions I found. The majority of positive reviews dedicate time to analyze the different aspects in the game like story, technical achievements, innovations, gameplay, artistry, and so on. All this detailed analysis made me appreciate the game even more. On the contrary, the negative reviews rush to rant the one or two aspects they disliked and score the entire game based on that, which I consider it is an unrealistic way of evaluate a game so full of details.
    For what I could see, you guys are the ones to blame for ruining the story for yourselves by over analysing teasers, trailers, leaks, and info out there. I don't need to delve into a review of the story myself. There are more than enough objectively made video reviews that show the master craft in the making of this game.

    All this brought me to my conclusion and my updated score. I fully respect that we all can have different opinions, but when I see that 80% of user reviews give the game a 0/10 after just a few hours of it being released, I cannot trust what people are saying. The story can be interpreted in different ways and subjectivity has a big presence here, but that will not negate the professionally developed piece of art this game is. I am part of the digital entertainment industry and I appreciate all the hard work put behind this amazing game.

    I recommend this game to anyone willing to go through a mature realistic depiction of a post-apocalyptic world full of danger.    … Expand

    It was really a very unique experience. Game-play mechanics and graphics are gorgeous. Don't see reviews, try it yourself. You have to be really mature to understand the depth of the story. The emotional attachment I've felt after finishing the story can't be described in words.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I pretty much enjoy ND games, and the first TLOU game is such a fantastic experience. So for this game I had high expectations coming from ND. I´m gonna shortly address the graphics, gameplay, music, sound and fun factor, those are an absolutely 10, the game is fun, graphically it´s the top for the PS4, considering how old it is, the actors do their fantastic job, and the music is exceptional as always. Story wise, it´s something completely different from what I expected as first, and personally, the story got me driven.
    Yeah, the story is dark, very dark, they show us a human tale, full of flawed and crooked humans in despair in a world turn into **** ND tells us that there are no Hollywood tropes, nor a good versus evil plot, and shows us that humans are full of shades.
    This story absolutely picks up where the first one left, and continues to its ultimate consequences, wither we like it or not, the events told in this game are very true representation of people´s strugges in a post apocalyptic world.    … Expand

    I waited 7 years for this game and it was all I've ever waited for. Every detail of every inch of the game is perfectly made, every move of Ellie and Abby is so realistic, in combat and when they're just walking or crawling, also every wolf, scar, runner, clicker, etc. is a unique character, with a name and with a sense of where he is standing and the people around him, they even piss off when you kill their dog; when you kill them you can see where the bullet went through, remove extremities or see half bodies after you blow them with exploding arrows or mines. Playing this game has changed everything I've known about single player campaign, which was tough after ND's Uncharted 4.

    The story played with my emotions so much, although the first part began with Joel's past and how he got to be the man who meets Ellie, when we play as Joel we get to see the bond growing because of the attachment we get towards Ellie and how in just one year he radder save her than the entire human race (kinda like the ethic debate about the train going for one or ten persons), whom we watch how his skull is smashed right in our eyes (Ellie's eyes), by a woman that then I have to play with further un the game. This is spectacular in two ways, starting with the idea of Abby, where they work in this grey personality, not black and white, that nobody should be judged as the "good guy" or "bad guy". Second, and most important, Joel made the decision of whipping a hole group of people to save Ellie (beautiful to think about because there's an argue in the game about Ellie saying she wanted her life to matter, but to Joel Ellie's life mattered more than anyone else's), this makes Abby be obsessed about finding and killing him, which she does, making now Ellie go after her. This is pretty basic, but here's the magic of the game, the path Ellie follows for revenge is dark, torturing and killing, including a pregnant woman, they use Joel flashbacks to make you feel her pain, but every crappy act she makes we can see how she's losing to the anger and not being herself (we can see in a fragment of her journal saying "Seattle still hunts me", not regarding Abby, but her own acts), after the theater scene it seemed like it was over, but the game continues to a perfect end. When Ellie is fighting Abby, just about to kill her, two things happen, we see a Joel flashback in a "is this what he'd want?" kinda way and, more importantly, Joel killed to save Ellie, Abby killed in revenge and Ellie was about to do the same, maybe the Lev was going to seek revenge against Ellie, but she stopped, she ended the Talion law, she put and end to the dark path she was going, which left horrible consequences like Tommy's leaving Maria and Dina leaving the farm and life with Ellie, she even lost the ability to play guitar.

    Gameplay: If you loved the gameplay in the first one, you'll love this. It's very similar, and if you want to play the whole game like how you played TLOU, you probably can. However, combat, traversal, and stealth have a more agile feel to it, thanks to added features such as air kills, squeezing thru tight spaces, dodging, and more. New enemy types and smarter AI ( for allies and enemies) really gives this game a more strategic and nerve-racking feel.

    Now, for the big one; the story. Without spoiling anything, the biggest thing I can say is that this game shows and handles Moral Ambiguity better than any other piece of media I have ever seen. The way it shows you both sides of the coin is something I wish more storytellers get into. It throws away the terms "good guys" and "bad guys", and leaves you with "people". People who do what is necessary and right for them. It truly shows what cruel acts in an especially cruel world can do to a person mentally, and how far hate can push someone to the edge of reason. A tragic story that will elicit plenty of emotions and reactions, and one that will be discussed for years to come. Not only does this get my vote for GOTY and the game of the generation, it gets my vote as one of the most brilliant pieces of media that has ever been made.

    Extra: The accessibility options are also next level, so plus points for that. My blind cousin was able to play a video game and for the first time, he got as much out of it as I did. These should start a trend for future games.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've never written a review for a game on Metacritic before, but I feel compelled to do so for this game. This game is obviously Naughtydog's magnum opus and I'm a fan of Naughtydog. I think they have made great, great games. TLOU part 1 was among my favorite games ever -- especially the factions MP. Of course, I was excited about this game when it was announced. I had heard of the leaks and eventually was curious to see what all the fuss was about -- because people were making a FUSS. I found a reddit thread that purported to describe what happened in the game. I read it. After reading it, I thought two things. The first was that it seemed too implausible. I hadn't seen any gameplay footage or pictures, I just had this reddit thread to go by. The second thing I thought was that even if the core of the leaks were true, I didn't worry because I knew Naughtydog would make this a great game. I brushed it off. Now here's my review of TLOU Part II. Off the bat, it was great to see Joel. You immediatley notice how beautiful the game is. Bravo. The animation of the horse riding seemed a bit clunky (at least in the beginning) but nothing to fret about. The game takes its time to develop the story, which, for fans of the series, is not a problem. You're glad to see everyone you loved from the first game show up. The new characters were a welcome addition -- but this is where I have to add the caveat that is, at this point, highly unoriginal, perhaps often overhyped, but nonetheless crucial. There is one character that, despite having spent hours playing as her, I did not care about. Let me digress by telling you that I've completed the game in 3 days of owning it. It came out last Friday, and it has been officially a week at which I am now writing this review. So I sat on it. And thought about. And thought about it some more. And my conclusion is that, while Naughtydog definitely tried something highly ambitious and different, the game ultimately collapses under its own weight. I say this hesitantly. The game was fun. The gameplay mechanics combined with beautiful graphics really made for an enjoyable experience. The boss fights were some of the most fun of any game. But I have to be realistic here. Those who purchased this game are majoratively coming directly as fans of the FIRST game. Why? The story. The gameplay is, for the most part, the same. Everyone expected updated graphics. The story is what brought people in droves to this game. So what happened there? Well... I'm not sure. I had seen interviews with the game director and other people working on the game and I can't help but feel like I was mislead, if only by a small bit. The first trailer surely made it seem like Joel was going to be okay. But towards the release, I expected him to die. Again, Naughtydog can't mess this up right? Then comes *that* scene. And..... oh, wow. I was speechless. My girlfriend who was sitting next to me watching me play, who knows almost nothing about the first game other than a brief synopsis I told her, was almost equally horrified. It was an absolutely terrible thing to watch. I told her the amount time you spend as that character in the first game and, although he made a terribly selfish and stupid decision, you grew to love him because of how much he loved Ellie. And that death .... that was worse than anything I saw in Game of Thrones. That's saying quite a lot compared to what they did to Robb Stark and Theon Grayjoy in that series. Joel's death was absolutely horrendous. I couldn't get it out of my mind throughout the entire playthrough and even after it. Given this extreme impact, when the game forced me to play 12 hours as his killer, I was so disengaged with Abby's character that after some time, I just wanted to fly through it to get to the end. Ellie's part in Santa Barbara probably contained the most fun encounters in the entire game, so my engagement was revived at this point. It was challenging and forced me to use Ellie's abilities to the utmost. And then there's the ending, which..... was ok. It was just ok. It wasn't impactful. It didn't hit me with some wise "lesson" that I think the developers were trying to hit me with. It was just.... gray. Bland. Tasteless. Even days after I completed the story, I'm still unsure how to feel about it. So at this point, I don't this taste the ending left in my mouth is going to wash away and I may be looking for something more significant when there isn't one there. The endpoint is that I'm ultimately dissapointed with how it all turned out as a complete product. And there was no MP, which again, was insanely fun in the first game. Oh well. This is as honest a review I could have given. I obviously don't care about the sexuality or gender expression of any of the characters, which I know was a cause for some to negatively review the game. That's a very dumb reason to give a game a bad review. It was how the story felt like it dedin't even have wings to spread.… Expand

Yes, the game is depressing and in many ways horrible (the story, not the game), but it is also really really good! Is the gameplay perfect? No. Is the story perfect? No. But it is still so, so good! I hate what happened in the beginning of the game, and I wanted Ellie to find and kill Abby. But then you play as Abby, and oh my gosh! I kinda ended up loving her! Not what she did, but her, as a character. And sweet little Ellie! I feel for her and my heart kept breaking for her as the story went on. This game suprised me in many ways, and had me in tears many others. Seriously! Play it, and try to stop being offended that Joel died. This game does not deserve zeroes. There have been games I personally don't like that I can still appreciate for the game it is. And this one is gritty and dark and depressing, but also beautiful in a dark way and wonderful and heartbreaking and deserving of love.… Expand

    BUT after a few hours, you begin to UNDERSTAND and FEEL, why your so called enemies are doing what they doing and that manipulation is, on it's own, AWESOME

    First, you don't give a damn about killing dozens of strangers, but after you're lived with them, after fighting with them and had the privilege to know them better, your feelings become confused about them. And that's just the beginning :)

    This sequel has all the wonderful ingredients of the first game. The story is violent, but meaningful and the scene is really touching (the interactions between Joel and Ellie are SOOO GOOOD!!).
    The gameplay is almost FLAWLESS (maybe better than MGS5).

    I really encourage all Last of Us 1 gamers to buy this one and to MAKE THEIR OWN OPINION of the game and especially the story.

    I LOVE this game, despite some minor questionable choices (some characters are just here to check boxes.. and maybe some of the flashbacks are not necessary.

    At my own surprise, Last of Us part 2 became one of my favorite game of all time (and I play since 25 years on PC and consoles!!). It's a MASTERPIECE and I thank Naughty Dog and the wonderful casting for their AMAZING JOB.    … Expand

I guess they could have done the major twist in a slightly different way, maybe reshuffle the order of play from Ellie to Abby. That said I actually loved the Abby part. Ngl originally I wasnt a fan since it felt like I was forcibly pushed out of Ellie's story, but the more I played with Abby the more I liked her. It wasnt even about me 'forgiving' her for killing Joel, she was quite a well-rounded character.
    The end is quite dark and leaves this stale feeling knowing that Ellie, who we have rooted for since the first game, does not get a happy ending but thats the good part about this game, it's quite realistic in that sense.
    My only big criticism is why on earth has no one realised that killing Ellie in the first game would have been such a stupid idea and would have most likely destroyed any potential for a vaccine???    … Expand

    This game is truly a masterpiece, I have no words to describe how much I liked it, the story is amazing the characters are all great and it has some of the most meticulously crafted levels and environments that I've seen in a game, the level of detail in every aspect of this game is out of this world.. Naughty Dough exceeded my expectations with this game.

Also when you get to the switch over. But after seeing Abby's flash back etc I completely see why she did what she did. Looking back at the 1st game you can't deny Joel was not a squeaky clean persin and he does technically doom the world. That had to come with consequences. Watching Ellie throw away her family for revenge when she is spared twice by Abby had me screaming in my head to give up and live her life. It's a story that flips the concept of good and evil. Actions have consequences. Looking forward to the finally in part 3… Expand

I don't think it's perfect by any means but its definitely a really good game. The gameplay alone makes it a 6-7 out of ten for me. There so many little intricate details that make combat just the funnest thing. It's exactly what I've always wanted out of a game. It feels like a fight. Enemies aren't bullet sponges and neither are you. You can die just as easily as they can and it makes taking down a large group of enemies fun every time. I will say some of the traversal can get a little tedious. Not because its difficult or anything its just full of those moments when the door is right in front of you but you have to go all the way around to open it and it feels like fluff to make the game longer. Now on to the story. I really can't say its bad. I can't tell you its poorly written and I honestly can't tell you that its "the worst story ever." I will say that I didn't love the direction they went with things. I'm not going to spoil it but the big thing that pisses people off, isn't that bad. Honestly, it was expected. I don't think the story would have been needed if they didn't do it and if it didn't happen then reviews would likely say that the game was forgettable. That being said, the thing i don't love is what they did to Ellie. Shes no longer the sarcastic fun loving happy go lucky child, she used to be. Now, she's a mean angry adult who rarely cracks jokes and makes the game miserable. I hate that. Ellie is one of my all-time favorite characters and honestly, shes been ruined. Its the single most worst handleing of a character ive ever seen. So that makes this review conflicting. I love the game. I honestly love the game. But i really hate some of the things they did. I would say its a 7.59999999999 but i need to round up to an 8. I feel like thats fair.… Expand

They kill off characters with no love with or prominence. It's impossible to like any of the player characters as they act in totally unrealistic manners for no reason other than to forward the massively contrived plot.     Enjoyable is not the right word to use. It's kind of misery porn sometimes. But the technical part - graphics,sound,music,animations is straight 10/10. Also the guitar playing sections are super fun addition (take on me anyone?). Story is not as good as first one but it is still better than most of AAA games that are out there. So from me 7.5/10.

But the story of the first half is very controversial because of Joel’s death. I think Joel dying so early I. The game was t a bad choice for story design but it’s the way it was executed. Joel and Tommy are survival experts and know when they are walking into an ambush. Tommy even tells them to go to Jackson for supplies and head back where they came from. That isn’t the true Miller brothers we know from the first one. Joel’s death would’ve worked if we saw it through abbys POV from the begging in of the game. If you really think about it what would the plot be about If Joel didn’t die? Killing Joel was too soon which I disagree but it was done correctly in order to show and explain Abbys side of the story. Moving through Seattle days 1-3 was an amazing experience. Hunting down the wolves and going up against the Scars was a cool experience. I also liked the way the game dynamically changed like falling through a floor and getting setback. In terms of characters Dina is a great character but we don’t really learn too much about her. A lot of people found her controversial cause she’s apparently a feminist? Jesse is a great character I like his personality it fits well with the game. Too sad he died. Overall the first half was phenomenal. Killing everyone who was in the room that night felt great that Ellie is getting her revenge person by person. The second half of the game got interesting. We catch up with Abby right before she rushes into the theater and what she was doing 3 days prior to that. The game explains why she did what she did. It all makes sense but the game throws you in loopholes that you can’t get out of till hours later. Up until we switched to Abby I couldn’t understand why she would kill Joel out of nowhere. The gameplay was more so the same with Abby although there were some cool experiences like hospital basement with that huge monster and going on the Scar Island. I didn’t like how we played Abby for a period of time. It felt too long for me. The ending was okay. It wasn’t good. The whole part with the rattlers at the end of the game could’ve been avoided. Instead of Abby getting captured again it would’ve been better if Ellie caught up to her and killed her. Going through the rattlers felt so unnecessary that it started to drift away from the story. Now the beach scene was probably one of the worst scenes in the game. I understand that Abby got her revenge but Ellie never gets to. She lost Joel, Jesse, Tommy and Dina while Abby has lost al her friends but gets to live with Lev. Ellie lost everything to go after Abby and she doesn’t die. The ending could’ve been executed a lot better but it sucks that waiting 7 years for a game led to this. Ultimately this game was very good. The writing was mostly great. The whole gameplay experience with the graphics was absolutely phenomenal. TL:DR - TLOU2 Had a phenomenal experience and graphics but the writing in some crucial parts of the story hurt it more than helped. It’s an amazing experience to play through and I would recommend it to anybody who played the first one.… Expand

    Being part of that 20 percent, I have to say that this game is so much more inspired and has much more depth than it's getting credit for. From the game's design, to yes, the story. So while it may not be what you expected/wanted it to be, ND still did a good job of providing backstory and explaining WHY certain events may have taken place. I will admit, the game can feel a bit drawn out at times, and perhaps it is. But it's not as hollow and "predictable" as people are making it out to be. (Not unless you've seen the leaks, which I was fortunate enough to avoid.) Despite all the outrage, TLOU2 is one of the best titles I've played in quite some time. If you're a fan of the first game and didn't have it spoiled for you, please do yourself the favor of playing TLOU2 someday. Whether that means paying full price or buying it on sale, it's every bit worth the experience.    … Expand

If they had kept to the open area idea they did in the start of this game it might have been different enough, but they choose not to.

    Visual design and acting are the only things keeping this game afloat from a 0 imo, and normally i could give this game a 7 or 8 out of 10 if the direction of the story wasn't so horrendously bad. There are so many better ways Druckmann could have rearranged the telling of this story so that people didn't outright HATE one of the characters. There are so many ways the story telling of this game could have been written to enjoy it better, maybe not entirely because the most overwhelming feeling that seems oddly designed make you hate the characters you play. Granted a unique but un-enjoyable way to play a video game.

    What was clear from the beginning; a story of love, vengence and Jewish history. I mean, there is SO much of the overtones and in your face Israeli-Palestine conflict and Jewish culture in this game I began to think it wasn't even about the main characters. It became just a bloody message of awareness to the middle eastern conflicts. I feel for the people lost in conflict and for those who feel so much hate in this world, and I enjoy a deep soul discovering story as much as the next person but forcing you to play as a character you hate is such a horrible way to experience a story much less to PLAY A GAME.

    The writing for this game is on par with what i expect Naughty Dog to do, it does have a really good voice but I feel for the employees at Naughty Dog and the cast of this game, they did an amazing job and it's not their fault the direction of the game was so poorly designed, Niel Druckmann was just not reigned in by Bruce Straley this time. Clearly all the people leaving early in this games development were people that could not willingly fulfill the direction of this game either.

    To Neil: It's your right to make the story what you want, it's not my right to say you shouldn't but you failed at providing an entertaining game, it's that simple.

    To readers: if you really wont resolution to the Joel and Ellie story wait for this game to go on sale, it doesn't deserve the praise from critics or price it has.    … Expand

    The gameplay is actually really fun. I played on the hardest difficulty where enemies were intelligent and powerful. The stealth encounters took place in large areas and were fun and challenging. There are a ton of combat animations that make use of the area during finishers (ex walls and floors).     So much greatness in the game's graphics, mechanics, and details. Yet, the story is ruined. I believe it is mainly just to preach on everyone their ideas regarding LBGT, sjw, gays, etc. (It's very clear that they are trying hard to push specific agenda).
    I love naughty dogs and all their games are best in class, but this move was really stupid. I hope they learn from their mistakes.

    Если вы считаете что это игра про ЛГБТ то вы глубоко ошибаетесь. Эта игра про любовь, жестокость, месть и выбор. Эта игра про то, что женщины это далеко не слабый пол, совсем не слабый...
    Подводя итог хотелось бы сказать что ждал от сюжета чуть большего, но посыл авторов ясен и глубок. Геймплей шикарен и радует глаз.
    Хотелось бы видеть будущем игру с подачей сюжета как в Death Stranding и геймплеем как в TLOU2    … Expand

I swear in the future imma fix this game by making "The Last of Us Part 3," and making it so that The Last of Us Part 2 was all a dream Ellie was having when she was unconscious in the hospital.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I created this account just so I could leave a review for this game...I will probably never leave another review. I just finished the game and I think the user reviews are ridiculously unfair for a number of reasons. I do think that the first game was better overall, but by no means is this the "worst video game of all time," as so many other reviewers have written. My only major complaint was that I found the character movements to be a little cumbersome. For a game released in 2020 that has been in development for this long, I expected it to be a little smoother. That said, I otherwise enjoyed the game, but I want to address some of the common reasons others are review-bombing this game. If you don't care about my opinion (and really, why should you?), then feel free to stop reading here. If you are interested, hopefully I can provide some insight below (this part will contain spoilers and is LONG...sorry):

    1. A lot of people are mad that they killed Joel, but I really don't care; he's a fictional character from a single game. Video games and other media kill/write off characters all the time and replace them with new ones. I can't say I wasn't a little shocked/disappointed at first, but as I kept playing, I thought it fit fine within the narrative. Nobody freaked out and review-bombed Endgame when they found out Tony Stark was killed, and that guy was in way more releases within his universe (10) than Joel was in the Last of Us universe (1). I would just say don't invest so much emotional weight in a fictional character.

    2. Another reason people are mad is the Abby character. Again, I really don't have an issue with this character. Yes, she seems like the villain early on, but I think as the game continues, it is clear that there are no heroes or villains. Abby got revenge on Joel for what he did to her father. Ellie then goes on a quest for revenge against Abby (and others) for what she did to Joel. Both playable characters make questionable choices and I really don't think either was ever intended to be labeled as hero or villain (and I think this is also true in the first game with Joel...yes he is the protagonist, but I don't think he was a "hero;" he basically doomed all of humanity to save the life of a single person). I personally liked playing as both Abby and Ellie, because it allowed the user to see both sides of the story.

    3. The last thing that some seem to be complaining about is the issue of gay/transgender characters. I suspect that many more of the negative reviews are about this issue than let on in their comments. A lot of people have been saying things like the story/plot is bad, but that is a load of crap. As far as video games go, it's still above average. It's not as good a story as the first game, but it's certainly not a bad one. I suspect that a lot of reviewers, rather than say something others may condemn as homophobic, just cop-out and say the plot is bad instead of sharing their real feelings. Other reviewers are more direct and just admit they hated the game cause they felt like a "gay agenda" was being pushed. Again, this is a load of crap. You can have gay characters without having a political agenda. I think too many reviewers are letting their own political views and biases get in the way and are doing too much "reading between the lines." In the end, it's just a video game...I don't think anyone is trying to push an agenda or make you feel a certain way about gay rights or gay culture. If you play this game and that IS the impression you get, I think that's more on you than on the game, and you should consider pulling your head out of your bum to get a better perspective.    … Expand

    The game itself is ok, the mechanics, the graphics, voice acting is great. The story on the other hand, is poorly written. Things some characters do don't match their characteristics. The story had a lot of potential, but it was delivered poorly. All in all, the game's not bad, but it ain't amazing or anything close to that

    I really liked this game. Some pasing issues but overall a really good story. This is a brutal story that will leave you empty at the end of it. People are very harsh in their judgement in my opinion. I think that people let their expectations ruin the experience. But to each their own.

    Great Game! Naughty really showed what a great kind of Developers they are. U can love the Storytwists or you can hate them but for me this game is unique and my GOTY 2020.
    I have always empathized with the characters and have always been able to put myself in them well.

The game in my opinion was amazing and I would've considered it a 10 if the pacing was right, to me it felt like a mistake that we went from Ellie all 3 days then to Abby's 3 days, I think originally it was supposed to be you play each day back to back. For example at the end of the first day after Dina reveals she's pregnant Ellie falls asleep, the start to the first day for Abby was her waking up. I think if it was done like that it would be a 10 for me… Expand

    Мне кажется, что сюжет имел потенциал быть шедевром, но Дракманн хотел сесть сразу на три стула и не дотянул. Пытается рассказать психологический хоррор Элли про ненависть и месть, еще хочет раскрыть "серую мораль" и двумя сторонами конфликта, и вагон ЛГБТ туда загрузить в придачу.

    По мне так концовка игры сама по себе очень хороша и всё-таки могла сработать мощно для многих, если бы нас не отрывали от Элли на целых 10 часов подряд и не пытались всё это время оправдать и продать нам Эбби.
    (Хотя не сказать, что в первая половина сюжета Элли использует свой потенциал, уж очень много беготни туда-сюда без всякого продвижения по истории)

    Вообще вся сюжетка за Эбби ощущается какой-то механической и в лоб, особенно её страх высоты, который будто так и введён для галочки, чтобы у героя была "слабость", и мы сочувствовали:(((. Я понял, что они хотели сделать, тыкая меня носом в параллели с судьбой Элли, (МузейАквариум и проч.), но лично мне, играя за неё, больше всего хотелось просто побыстрее пробежать до кульминации. Её отношения с Оуэном были любопытны мне ровно до сцены секса - пиздец ужасно и неуместно, перегиб с "серой моралью", после которого теряется всё уважение к Оуэну. (А то, как они пердолятся, отпечатается в памяти навсегда).

    Флешбеки с Джоелом и Элли - само собой жемчужина игры и ощущаются на совсем другом уровне. То ли это нереальная химия Эшли Джонсон и Троя Бейкера, то ли Дракманн всё еще любит только этих персонажей, но в его уважении к Джоелу я не сомневаюсь.

    Дина - тупо байт на "месть лесбиянки" для рекламной кампании, а жаль. Я не против их любви с Элли, но вы сами знаете, насколько их отношения в итоге раскрыты.

    Джесси и правда показался лучшим новым героем, но слили его просто ужасно.

None of that in this sequel - it honestly seems like this is the first draft of some very poor fan-fiction realized with a multi-million dollar budget. Written by someone with nothing but clear contempt for the original's characters - and more importantly, the audience.
    While it looks amazing, it's just scenery. The actual game itself is largely IDENTICAL to the previous one - and that's a problem, considering the first was 7 years ago at the start of the PS3 generation. We find ourselves at the very end of the PS4 generation (this game is very much a swansong for the console) yet the game plays so similarly, it would be impossible to tell which game you were playing were it not for the poorly implimented jump button.
    All the production values in the world mean nothing if it's in service of a bad story, and this one's a doozy. I can largely guarantee you will actively hate the storyline within 2 hours, yet you'll be expected to hang around for a further 20 in the shoes of a new 'character' who will happen to be the heart of why you hate the story. Ridiculous decision making from Naughty Dog, and proof positive that any previously beloved developer can absolutely **** the bed and start turning out absolute trashfires of games.    … Expand

Ладно главный герой - это женщина, ладно даже два главных героя - женщины, но то что Naughty Dog сделали с Эбби - это полный п****ц. Перекачанное некрасивое нечто. Конечно не все девушки должны быть красавицами, но это, это перебор. У Элли же с внешностью всё в порядке. Но феминизм проявляется не только во внешности, но и в геймплее. Маленькая, практически беззащитная Элли, превратилась в машину для убийств, для которой нет преград. То же самое и с Эбби, но тут и так понятно, что это терминатор. А теперь разберём сюжет. Он здесь неоднозначный: одни говорят, что это шедевр, другие - что историю слили и сюжет г*вно. Кто же всё таки прав? С первого взгляда сюжет и правда такой себе, я ожидал что-то другое. Но когда ты начинаешь копаться в нём, добираешься до его посыла, до смысла сюжета, ты понимаешь: это ведь реально шедевр. Сюжет о девочке, которая в погоне за справедливостью потеряла всё. Эта игра учит нас тому, к чему может привести насилие, тому, что в погоне за своими желаниями, ты можешь потерять многое, если не всё. Многим не понравился сюжетный момент с Эбби, ведь это по сути главный антагонист, который убил полюбившимся многим Джоэла. Но это было необходимо. Таким образом разработчики хотели показать, что нет плохих или хороших людей. Играя за Эбби мы делаем много хороших поступков, а играя за Элли - много плохих. И уже с одной стороны персонаж плохой, а с другой - хороший. Также много негатива вылилось из-за концовки, где Элли, жертвуя всем, просто отпускает Эбби, хотя уже её фактически победила. Мне самому это не очень понравилось, лучше бы Элли её убила и потеряла всё. По итогу она и не отомстила, и при это ещё и потеряла свою любовь, друзей и два пальца. Но даже такую концовку модно оправдать. Элли считала, что в её кошмарах и мучениях из-за смерти Джоэла виновата Эбби, и вообще по логике это так, ведь она убила его. Но в одном из флешбеков Элли узнаёт, что Джоэл наврал ей в конце первой части The Last of Us, из-за чего смотри на него обижается. По итогу она не успела при жизни простить его. В конце же она поняла из-за чего эти кошмары, из-за того, что она не успела простить Джоэла, а не из-за того, что его убили, и она отпускает Эбби. Цитата: «Элли мучали кошмары и она думала, что это из-за Эбби, но когда она топила её, то поняла, что дело в том, что она не простила Джоэла во время жизни». Игра даёт почву для размышлений, так что пусть каждый думает сам, что значит эта концовка и игра в целом.… Expand

    I understand the criticisms the game is getting. The game makes some ballsy moves both gameplay and story wise but I can appreciate it for what it tried to do. I still enjoyed it but it's hard to not get frustrated/confused when the game is split up the way it is.
    I think the game does a really good job of humanising enemies and forcing you to see things from different perspectives.

    Forget about LGBTQ hate and dumb people hating it for no sense, I really hate games who make things like that just for no reason, but this game don’t make this, the relationship between Ellie and Dina is so real, amazing and lovely.
    Imagine if a lunatic had killed your father in cold blood, who was trying to discover the cure of humanity? Imagine if you had some issues with your father figure and in the next day you see him getting killed by a lunatic woman with a golf club? That’s a damn heavy heartfelt motivation.
    You’ll never find another experience like The Last Of Us Part 2.
    Gameplay:
    I’d never played a game too immersive like that, the stealth is so good and I felt so sad when I messed up the run letting an enemy see me.
    The gunfight is incredible, you can feel the shots getting out of the gun, the aim system is so realistic, you can’t just blast everyone like a f***ing Resident Evil S.T.A.R.S. super soldier.
    The direct confrontation is the best I’ve ever seen, so satisfying, you can feel it with all the variety of animations and all the realism and violence.
    Good variations of guns and weapons, including upgrades like in the first game. Good crafting system too.
    Different than the first, now you can jump and crouch, and that works fantastic for people like me who likes to be stealth (but trust me, is so much fun to just confront the enemies directly).
    The difficult of the game is fine, I think I would like to have less items in the scenarios because that turns the game a little easier, but the AI is something that I’ve never seen, the behavior of the enemies is so unpredictable and real, that’s real intimidating.
    The puzzles are fine considering that’s not a game about that.
    If you like exploration of huge scenarios…that’s your game, sometimes felt like an open world game, insane level design, this is one thing that ND knows how to do, amazing scenarios, I just got excited to search everywhere for notes and collectibles, so fun.
    The scary parts are my favorite ones of gameplay, I just jumped every time with Stalkers and the biggest boss of the game is really intimidating and scary.
    The graphics are the best of these generation, facial expressions in cutscenes and in game are really stunning and the best part is the animations, the interactions between Ellie with scenarios and enemies, all her moves and interactions mixed with the beautiful graphics makes a really important role on getting the player immersed and impacted through the game, you can see and feel the care of Naughty Dog on these little things.
    Sometimes you gonna fell uncomfortable doing bad, violent and stupid things that corroborates with the narrative. All the suffer, all the sadness, all the sense of vengeance, this game is so much more than that, the feeling inside all the violence in both stories, it’s like a roller coaster of emotions and feelings, you can feel all that and understand just playing the game.
    The story is the main point, and that’s where the game really got me.
    That's just different than any other game you've ever seen, unique and audacious.
    I don’t understand why people are getting so much hate for this, maybe they got the point of the first game wrong, but a lot of people is just being mean.
    Joel is not a hero and Abby is not a Villain. They’re people in an apocalypse, just that, that’s the point.
    The parts of Abby, for me, is so incredible and important for this game.
    I don’t feel like ND wanted to make us “sympathize” with Abby, because she is a terrible person, her friends are the worst, I think that’s the point.
    I just think the intention was to bring us a different perspective of all that, to see the other side, to show us the violence, not just trough Ellie and Joel’s journey, but in different relations too, to show us human’s decisions and consequences, Joel’s decisions and consequences, I don’t know if what Joel did in the end of first game was right or wrong, I just know that maybe, if I was him in the same situation, I would do the same, that’s the fact that made me love Joel, cause he is human, not a hero who saves the little girl from the bad firefly villains, but the old man who cannot lose another child.
    The most incredible things happens through the journey, the development of Ellie through the game is the deeper and this game made her my favorite character of all time. You gonna fell on your skin everything that Ellie faces.
    The end of the game is so good like(maybe better than)the first one, everything makes sense in the end and you can feel how heavy, hard and emotional that journey was seeing all the consequences that this circle of violence made in these two characters lives, showing us what vengeance coasts and sometimes, when you reach something that you’re really looking for, you don’t fell…nothing.

    I am angry with the creators of this game. It is not because they could not meet our expectations. On the contrary, they could have but they did not on purpose. That's why majority of the community is furious. After this trauma, i will always wait for user reviews. Especially for Naughty Dog products.

    Misery and torture. That’s the whole story. Beautiful graphics, good gameplay, (mostly) great and intriguing characters, but horrific story line that is emotionally manipulative and exhausting.

    Everything about this game is lovingly crafted and beautifully executed. The main contention from people seems to be about the story, Which we’ve seen time and time again be the sore point of beloved franchises for whatever reason however this was the developers story they wanted to say and how they wrapped it into this experience for the player is nothing short of amazing.

You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
