This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No offense Naughty Dog but I hated The Last of Us 2. And not just because of Joel’s death. If you’re anything like me and you loved the developing relationship between Ellie and Joel in the first game, you would be sorely disappointed with this game. It’s only redeeming qualities are the graphics (which I will give them credit for, they are outstanding), gameplay (a little outdated but still okay), and the soundtrack. Sadly it ends there. The main reason people play this game is for the STORYLINE, and a decent one was not even remotely present in this game. Why spend years and years crafting this beautiful father-daughter like relationship between Joel and Ellie just to have it destroyed in the second game? Killing off Joel so soon in the game was a horrible move, and a big blow to those of us who love Joel (which I’m sure most of us do). To make matters worse the Ellie-Joel flashbacks, in my opinion the only good part of the story, appear AFTER his death which leaves such a bittersweet and melancholy feeling knowing he’s going to die a cruel death eventually, by Abby no less, a character we are forced to play before she dies and after for a huge chunk of the game (and I don’t even like her!!! AT ALL). If he had to die it should’ve been later in the game when they’ve established a real storyline because it happened too suddenly. Secondly the game is just downright depressing. It’s not fun to play whatsoever, because Naughty Dog mislead all of us with that BS advertising of Joel helping Ellie on her quest for revenge. Instead we were greeted with a swift death and the introduction of underdeveloped and bland characters. And guess what? They all end up dying or abandoning Ellie at the end (surprise surprise!) where she is just fingerless, unable to play the guitar (her only connection to Joel) unmotivated, and depressed. Which make us players incredibly depressed too! There was absolutely no reason for this to happen to Ellie. Seriously, we spent all the time killing and killing so violently just to get to Abby then we don’t even get to kill her at the end. It’s like, hello, what was the point of all that then? And it doesn’t help that I feel absolutely no remorse for Abby either. I WANTED her to die. All in all this storyline was a big risk on ND’s part but it did not pay off. I’m sorry but if a game leaves you feeling so enraged and sad it’s not a good game. These critics are out of their minds, they are only reviewing it on a technical level and are clearly not attached to any of the characters or storyline like true TLOU fans. 0/10. Expand

The Last of Us part II is not another game of Naughty Dog, is probably the end of the one of the best games in the history. Ultimately I really wanted to like this game but despite enjoying the gameplay which while outdated is still pretty good overall and only really begins to drag about half way through, I have to find myself agreeing with a lot of people on the story. Put simply the story did not satisfy me at all, watching Joel be killed in such a brutal manner even though he had done horrible things was pretty terrible in my opinion and overall going all the way through the game only to have Ellie spare Abby is pure garbage. Naughty Dog should have at least made the player choose whether to kill or spare her but instead the whole game feels empty for me after Ellie sparing her. I just despise that Ellie goes through so much and sacrifices so much and doesn't even kill the one person who actually killed Joel despite cutting people down like **** weeds for the whole story. TLDR a good solid 7.5 out of 10 which is dragged down to a 4 for me because of how disappointed I was by the end of it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Spoilers: I think my only major complaint with the game is that the ending left me feeling empty and hopeless. Ellie saved her humanity by not killing Abby but still lost everything. Her one fear was ending up alone and at the end of the game she is. Not even able to play the guitar, her last connection with Joel. I also never really cared for Abby after the brutal killing of Joel. I still wanted her to pay, even after shifting to her perspective, which I found way too long too. I was never on her side and no amount of storytelling could have changed that for me. Everything else about the game I loved. I don’t think it was bad writing per say, but it was definitely not the outcome I wanted for characters that I have loved for 7 years. Why does Abby get the happy ending when Ellie and Tommy suffer? I just can’t wrap my head around that decision. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's start with the good stuff: graphics, gameplay, sound, animations and all the hard work of the entire team, except for the writer. The way the story was delivered in this sequel was absolutely pathetic. You made Joel and Tommy look like dumbasses just for the sake of killing Joel (in an even more pathetic way) and introducing your little character Abby. Absolutely no one cared about her, considering there was also no backstory. Also you shoved us down the throat a 12 hour gameplay of her which made people even more upset. And in the end when Ellie had to kill Abby, she just gives up on the idea because revenge is not it? After all the massacre she went trough just to get to her?

Breaks my heart to see this second part. I just wish I could wipe it out of my head and remain with that beautiful picture of the first game. That one was IT!

The story on the other hand is very poorly written, the Abby started at the most tense moment and every hour that passed it took me away from the main Ellie revenge story and started focusing on little things that didn't feel relevant to the general plot. All the characters suddenly die and it just feels like a Game of Thrones episode when you can't really connect with anyone because you know that no one really matters at the end.

But this game single handily ruined the last of us franchise and spat on the gamers who loved the first one so much. We had to see Joel who was the main character we were all so emotionally invested in get beaten to death in the first 2 hours of the game and then play half of the game with the testosterone boosted Abby who killed him. This game tried way too hard to focus on female empowerment instead of giving the community what we wanted and that was a masterpiece like the first Last of Us game where the story telling was based on a strong , caring Joel and his growing relationship with this girl Ellie who he was meant to smuggle across the country to save the world but instead saves her when he realizes that the fireflies were going to kill her. Naughty Dog butchered an amazing franchise and a game that had the potential to be game of the decade but failed to focus on their community. I’m heartbroken... Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Absolute failure of storytelling. If I were to rate this game purely off of storytelling then I'd give it a 0/10, but the graphics were undeniably amazing so I'll give it a 2.

Now, let me elaborate. In a nutshell, the entire foundation of The Last of Us is the father-daughter relationship between Joel and Ellie and how they grew and developed together throughout the course of the game. It was the glimmer of hope for Joel's second chance at having a daughter, it was Ellie finally finding someone who cared after her and never left her, the theme of the light in the darkness shown through Joel and Ellie's relationship that made The Last of Us so amazingly good.

The Last of Us Part II then proceeds to take a massive crap on everything the game was founded upon, and not only kills the beloved main protagonist Joel in the beginning, but also completely rushes it with absolutely no build up at all. It resembled that of a 12 year old forcing an amateur plot point into a story that just doesn't fit. After the death of Joel the entire game is a series of over the top violence with the only intent of hateful revenge, thus making you begin to extremely dislike Ellie by the end of the game. The ending gives no pay-off and there's no character development at all. If anything the characters regressed. That "light in the darkness" theme of the first game is completely ripped out of the second one, thus butchering everything the first game stood for. To top it all off, the only Joel and Ellie interactions we witnessed were in flashbacks, which ended with Ellie hating Joel and telling him she can't ever forgive him. Again, crapping all over the original games foundation.

The feminist/LBTQ agenda is also very apparent in this sequel, and it seems obvious to me that Neil Druckmann traded out quality storytelling for an in-your-face preachy message, and used The Last of Us as his soap box.

This story ends with no hope, no redemption, no more Joel and Ellie, no love, nothing. It's not even bitter-sweet, it's just bitter. The first game ended bitter-sweet, but it was perfectly executed. This sequel felt rushed even though they had 7 years to perfect it.

If anything this sequel shouldn't have had anything to do with revenge, but should have picked back up where it left off with the lie that Joel told Ellie at the end of the first game, and became a story of Ellie learning to forgive Joel and further strengthening the bond between the two.

Like I said, this doesn't feel like a story, but feels like Neil Druckmann's soap box. An absolute failure in storytelling and a disappointment to fans.

The Last of Us was a title that made me love the PS3 as a console. The immersive and somewhat grounded world, the characters who had been affected by this world, and an intense, emotional story built off of their development on a journey through it. It was memorable, beautiful and stayed with me for very long after playing.

Enter The Last of Us Part 2, a game that carries us back into this same world with some familiar faces making an appearance. For starters, the game stands out as one of the most graphically beautiful experiences you can get on console today. The lighting, the incredible density of areas you explore, the quality of material detail, and like the first game, some incredible facial animation work with real acting performances that make you feel like you’re watching real humans interact with each other. It isn’t that often i will willingly ignore the sprint button and walk around a game world, just taking it all in, but this is one in which i regularly felt the need to do it. The best part being all of this is at a very solid and smooth frame rate too.

The game also sounds incredible, the sonic atmosphere is perfectly balanced with a great dynamic range. The music is also brilliant, again, and perfect for the dark, barren, and often hopeless world it embellishes, the main themes being used sparingly at the main story beats to add to the impact of these moments. I think the most important thing to take from this amazing visual and sonic fidelity, is how immersive this game is, and i think that mainly comes down to the great job the dev team have done creating this extreme, complex and believable world.

The gameplay is very much similar to the first, but refined and improved in many ways too. I personally really enjoy the main gameplay mechanics, searching for crafting parts to ready yourself for combat, and then finding it’s often just enough to get you through said encounters. I found the ‘moderate’ difficulty option to be more than fair, with a few parts that i found particularly challenging, but occasional difficulty spikes, although rare, did happen. Again though, these could be worked around with a few attempts and some thought (or spamming with the heavy weapons and some luck).
The enemy variation is much better this time around, with more infected (some new more shocking examples too), some animals and more humans with different backstories and reasons for what they do. These little differences make encounters feel unique and more challenging strategically. There were unfortunately some moments, especially in the latter part of the game, in which the encounters maybe started to feel a bit much, and more like something from the Uncharted series. It felt a little out of place in a game series that usually aims to be slightly more grounded, stealth based and not the hyped up ‘one man army’ style.

However, i think I’m not alone when i say the most important thing in this game is the story and its characters. Unfortunately, i would say this is a bit of a mixed bag, and there’s a lot of thinking to do after completing it. The characters, particularly Ellie and Dina, are very well written and felt grounded, relatable and real. The cutscenes are incredible, and a few very beautiful moments occur in which, very much like the first, you will be left a little tearful. I generally really enjoyed the game and think its a very interesting and profound story experience, but in a way, there are moments i really did not enjoy. In a sense, i know this is intentional (which is somewhat interesting in itself), but with it being a game, it feels a little odd to be forced to do certain things, and then made to feel bad about not enjoying doing them. In fact, its that divisive and split, there was one particular moment where i was considering putting the controller down and calling it a day, because i didn’t want to do what i had to. It is completely understandable to me that people will not like this story, and some big fans of the first may even struggle to complete it, but i think i do also respect Naughty Dog in some ways for breaking the mould and doing something extraordinarily risky. It is a game that will stay with you, but not at all for the same reasons as the first did, and not necessarily good reasons. Some very important new characters are introduced throughout the game, and some of these new characters are not handled in a very good way, which leaves you struggling to relate and care about them when it comes time to. Also, the game is somewhat split into two main parts, built from two main perspectives, and again, i’m not sure whether this was a great idea (although it does mean you get to meet more characters and see more of the world, which is a positive thing. I am all for world building).
The game is very fleshed out, deep and detailed though, so you can easily put 20-35+ hours into one play through, depending on your play style.

Then you are forced into playing as Abby.. with beyond boring flashbacks that you have to play through ..the game just drags on and on after.. the game tries to be "ground breaking" in making you question who the real "bad guy" is...but it doesn't , because they are both bad people .. they really shove LGBTQ down you're throat here .. we all know Elle is a lesbian from the first game , but the person who kills Joel just so happens to be a lesbian , who befirends a transexual ? Their sexuality has zero to do with the game at all and it's never really addressed other than when an old bigot says something to Elle.. seems like they went for shock value , it's all they really have going for the game . Should have never made a sequel. Expand

A good game until the moment you have to attack Ellie as Abby why? It's Ellie why should I do that. Apart froma that I think it's a memorable game not as good as The last of us 1 but I love the way both of them shows that there is not such a think as heroes or villains everybody tries it's best for the things in which believes

playing as Abby for the second half was not good i really didn't like her at all , you don't make her kill Joel and then you want me to like her? how the hell am i supposed to like her as a main character ? it felt like forcing me to like a character i didn't want to like
killing Joel wasn't an issue for me expect it happened so early in the game , it was there , he had a past full of bad deeds he wasn't going to die peacefully in his sleep of course but killing him 2 hours in the game i really don't think it's a smart choice
game play was amazing , graphics and soundtrack are amazing , story not so much what i expected after the first game
such a letdown on the story side , i hope they can fix this with a DLC or anything else , i also hope they make a third part where they fix the story for the better , the ending wasn't the best , Ellie lost a lot and didn't get what she wanted , she lost Dina , she lost JJ she lost 2 fingers which means she wont be able to play guitar again the last thing that connected her to Joel , while Abby didn't lose as much as Ellie lost , they left the ending opened for a new part , which must be made as they cant leave the game with this ending , i really want to see a game detected for Ellie not anyone else just Ellie

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game has excellent combat and graphics, but the story is completely out of logic. I’m not heartbreaking by Joel’s death, but I’m frustrated by those contradictory actions both Ellie and Abby took in the game. When Abby saw her all friends are killed how could she bear not to kill Abby, instead she left them alive, but for Joel, she didn’t even hesitate. Abby also made some ridiculous decision like go to the scar base to rescue Lev from his mother who was tripped by herself to death, I almost laughed when I see that, all the actions come in vain and she had to kill hundreds of soldiers for that decision. And then after Ellie killed all the friends of Abby, she found out Mel was pregnant, she felt guilty and Abby also left her alive. How could someone with such sin still go after Abby and then again, she ended up saving Abby and lost two fingers! What a joke story! Is this story a dark comedy or something? What kind of chaotic story, even worse than GOT season 8. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I want to preface this review with I didn't read any spoilers before playing and completed the whole game.

The Last of Us Part 2 has some of the best graphics, world, atmosphere, level design, and gameplay I've ever played. But as a narrative-driven game, the second half of the game takes some turns that resulted in me not wanting to finish the game. I was only able to complete this game because of the amazing gameplay/level-design and wanting to see how badly they could mess up an otherwise compelling story. By the end of the game I understood the story Naugty Dog was trying to tell. I think there is a good story in there, but the characters and the tropes they pushed in second half of the game missed the mark for me. I feel they are pandering too much to certain demographic and didn't make any attempt to make the second half of the game relatable to the general audience. So let me explain my issues with the narrative:

    *SPOLIERS*
In the first half of the game you play as Ellie trying to get revenge on a character named Abby for killing Joel. Being a big fan of other zombie games/movies, while killing Joel was a huge shock, it didn't turn me off to the game. It was inline for this kind of universe for me. I enjoyed playing as Ellie and I liked all of the new characters they introduced. Watching Ellie slowly become more and more lost to hatred as she kills off Abby friends while hunting for her was believable and compelling to me. You eventually get to the climax where you are confronted with Abby herself. There's so much tension and anticipation built up and then the game just screws you over. When you think you're going to get that sweet revenge it switches over to flashback of Abby with her dad, and then proceeds to make you play the same timeline as Ellie but from Abby's perspective. This is where the game lost me. I don't like Abby's character, and over the course of 10 hours playing as her, that didn't change. I rushed through Abby's part of the game because I didn't care about her and just wanted to see the end of Ellie's storyline. The game is trying to make you empathize and like Abby, but her character is just boring and uninteresting to me. I understand why she killed Joel, I understand she lost her love interest to her quest for revenge, I understand the pain from all of her friends being murdered by Ellie, I understand her trying to slowly redeem herself by helping Lev, I understand she grew and let go of her hatred for Ellie. Despite this, I never found her story interesting and hated playing her the whole time. I would often suicide to vent frustration. I feel really conflicted about this as well because a lot of my favorite gameplay sequences were during Abby's playthrough. Escaping from the scars after being hanged, descending a broken skyscraper filled with zombies, the boss fight in the hospital basement, and the sniper part. These were all some of the coolest things I've played in a game. I just wish I wasn't playing as Abby.

The ending also dragged on forever. I kept thinking the game would end and then there was repeatedly another level or cut screen tacked on. This resulted in my friend and I playing "take a drink every time you think the game is gonna end". I think they could've cut a lot of last few hours out or structured it better. Overall though I think this is a good game. I didn't like Abby's story but I still enjoyed the gameplay itself. If you don't mind Abby or don't care about the story I think you will really enjoy this game. And I think if you were intereseted in game at first, but turned off by the controversy, you should still give the game a chance.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game has many positives that get overshadowed by inconsistent writing. If story is not too important to you, then this game will probably be to your liking. Review contains some general spoilers.

First, I want to highlight that this game is graphically very well done, with good sound design and very good voiceovers across the entire cast. Gameplay feels like a natural evolution of the previous game, but is not revolutionary. Accessibility options will be a welcome addition for some, and I hope this level of inclusivity sets the new industry standard. By far the weakest point of this game is its sub-par story and pacing.

The game starts with a brief update of what Joel and Ellie are up to, but it soon changes to a much darker tone when Abbie tortures and murders Joel in plain sight of Ellie. We later learn that Abbie is the daughter of one of the Firefly doctors Joel murders at the end of TLOU.

The story follows a mirrored revenge story told from two perspectives, Ellie, and newcomer Abbie. There is a very deliberate focus on the futility of revenge and breaking the cycles of violence, a perspective that is bafflingly only applied to Ellie's side of the story, because it turns out that 50% of the game is played from Abbie's perspective; with a story line that ultimately feels almost entirely disconnected from what Ellie is up to.

The story is interspersed with many flashbacks that add (some) depth to Abbie's character, and that appeal to the nostalgia factor of the Joel-Ellie relationship. These flashbacks are strategically placed to rob the story of any momentum, whenever something exciting happens, there's a flashback that yanks all the pacing out of whack.

Despite the criticism, Abbie is a serviceable character that is introduced in the worst possible manner. She is a hardened killer with selective morality, proving to be very caring with Lev, a boy she meets and develops a relationship with in a mere 3 days while Ellie is coincidentally rampaging through Seattle. Despite the overall story being focused on the futility of violence, this perspective is very much lost on Abbie's side of the story. She is shown to be traumatized ONLY by the violence inflicted on her, but really seems to not give two **** about murdering anyone that stands in her way. In many ways, this character is similar to pre-redemtion Joel, and it even follows a similar arc by taking Lev under her wing, but this arc is far too rushed to really land.

Several "contextual" clues are given to make the player care about Abbie, she has the best combat, guns, expansive storyline, no one is forcing you to feel bad for your actions as her, she plays fetch with dogs, NEVER encounters a dog enemy, has a "cute" character flaw in her fear of heights. Meanwile, Ellies entire storyline is miserable, she is deeply affected by her actions towards revenge. This really rubbed me the wrong way, not because either point of view is bad for storytelling or gameplay reasons, but just because they do not match, all arguments about the inmorality of Ellie's actions apply to Abbie, but the game facetiously does not make those arguments during Abbie's playthrough. By the end of the game, Ellie is left a miserable, traumatized husk of her former self, while Abbie is essentially unscathed and at peace. The message just doesnt compute.

The story itself is also riddled with bafflingly out-of-character choices by all major players (Joel, Ellie and Abbie), with many contrived "saved in the nick of time" plot moments, where main characters are saved by extensive use of plot armor. Side characters, however, die like flies with little story impact, many of the side character deaths are barely met with a gasp, and their names are literally never mentioned again. There were many points, especially on Ellie's story, where the story could have ended on a more poignant note (notably post Seattle discussion with Dina).

There is no big payoff in story-telling through the entire playthrough, the basic scenario is still various factions of humans fighting for resources, where weirdly the zombies seem to really only appear as a minor inconvenience, this also deadens the emotional conflict of both Abbie and Ellie with Ellie not dying to make the cure, since it seems it really makes no difference.

Side characters Dina, Lev and Yara are fine, but they are undeveloped as a whole. Lev and Yara's side story is particularily pointless, since about 8 hours of the game are devoted to them without really developing characters or changing the world state.

Overall the game is significantly longer than its predecessor, but squanders its running time with little left to say. I think the ending scene is meant to leave the player to reflect about the futility of violence and the importance of making your peace with your loved ones. Personally, it left me reflecting on the futility of expecting something profound from this franchise.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Joel was never the good guy, he was the first game´s antagonist. Just how Ellie and Joel kill people in cold blooded and dry ways , also can abby when killing joel and jesse.
The first game is about:Selfishness, and how joel doesn't want to experience loss once more do that is why he "saves" Ellie.
The Second game is about:Forgiveness, and how Ellie cannot forgive Joel for taking away the only thing she looked forward to, In the scene where Ellie tells Joel she´ll try to forgive Joel is parallel to her not killing Abby. Ellie isn't as sadistic as Abby so revenge at the end becomes futile, she isn't at Abby´s level , by letting her live she has moved on from Joel's passing.

It's no secret how terrible Abby´s writing is, the game structure is all over the place, when we play as Abby we do not care or have motivation, I believe the Abby part needs waaaaaaaaay better writting and that the part we play as her is the part we play first so we wonder who this person is and them BAM! we´ve been playing as the villain all along.

The gameplay is fantastic and incredibly fun, the graphics are by far the best I have ever seen to date, the music is superb, and the animations are stunning.

Here is the why the game is a 4/10. The story is so incredibly bad for so many reasons.
    1. Joel was done so filthy, acts completely out of character and the same goes for Tommy.
    2. Everyone acts out of character.
3 Abby is such an awful character
    4. The game tries to make Ellie the bad guy and tries to make Abby a good person.
    5. WHY DO WE PLAY AS ABBY FOR HALF THE GAME.
    6. The ending is horrible, Abby doesnt die, Ellie loses everything (fingers, girlfriend, baby, Joel)
    7. There is so much more but I dont wanna rant for an hour.

Its message was NOT that violence was bad. At least, that's not what I walked away feeling. I walked away with the sense that violence was pointless. Through all the killing from both sides in the game, nothing was accomplished and no one felt like "The good guy" anymore. Of course as Naughty Dog has made us expect, the graphics and sound design were top notch. Many people are criticizing the way a beloved character was taken from us early. This is a real world where things happen realistically and painfully, and while it hurt us to see, it was a great driving, motivating force to play. This game got across every message and every point it wanted to exactly how it wanted to. If people are so blinded by what they think the game is about, that they want a different ending, that's their fault This is a story about Ellie. I would recommend playing on Survivor since I feel you can get the full experience of surviving the land of the last of us on this difficulty. I would say lower difficulty made the game significantly less fun. The scavenging is limited in survivor, the enemies AI are more random and unpredictable. Once they see you, they hit hard. Most of the time overwhelming you or one-shoting you. There are bosses in this game that are extremely fun, makes me want to replay for those bosses alone (again on Survivor difficulty). For the non-spoiler review of the story, it reminded me a lot of the Last of Us 1 story in a lot of ways. Last of us 1 and the Last of us 2 can both be described as tragic stories. You will see a lot of things that will make you uncomfortable but its there to tell a story about Ellie. In the end, I was emotionally invested, and felt the same as I did in the end of The Last of Us 1. I would give both games 9/10s

    SPOILERS
The story elements reminded me a lot of the original last of us 1. Joel original goal was to get Ellie to the fireflies to be the cure for humanity but took Ellie away so he wouldn't have to experience the death of another child. In Last of us 2, Ellie's original goal was to murder the people who murdered Joel. In the end, she forgives Abby for what she did and lets her go.

Both games had a goal only to be turned over. The controversy of the ending again reminds me of the Last of Us 1. Many people were confused and upset for what Joel did. Now, its Last of Us 2 time to experience the same backlash. Some people call the Last of us 2 pointless but the Last of Us 1 was a pointless tale too. Joel was delivering the last hope for humanity but decided to keep her so he can have a daughter again.

The Last of us 2 is tragic story. It shows how damaging selfishness can be and how important forgiveness is. Throughout the story, Ellie was losing everyone around her. Her actions led to the destruction of her relationship with Dina, the death of Jessie, the injuries on Tommy, and her losing her ability to play the guitar (in some aspect, ill come back to it. ). On the final battle, She got the upper hand on Abby but ultimately decided not to kill her as Ellie gets a memory of her last moment with Joel.

Despite Joel ambition to save Ellie. The action destroyed their relationship with each other, Ellie wanted to sacrifice herself for the cure. She saw what Joel did as devastating. It took 4 years for Ellie to finally forgive Joel and understand why he did what he did. That reminder of forgiveness is where Ellie finally realize that killing Abby wouldn't fix anything. Killing Abby won't bring Joel back, won't fix her relationships, won't bring back her friend. The path for revenge lead her to a destructive path.

Now talking about Abby, very similar events occur. After the death of her father by the hands of Joel. She couldn't stop thinking about her revenge. She spent her time training and looking for Joel hindering her relationship with Owen. After she killed Joel, Abby lost all her friends. She gets the people involve with her hurt such as Yara who sacrificed herself to save Lev and Abby. She was then kidnapped by slave traders where she was beaten and tortured for months. Her relationship with the young boy Lev brought her back to reality (sounds familiar?) . She learned to forgive Ellie and move on. It just took Ellie a few more months to get to that point.

The ending is very emotional. It ends with Ellie trying to play her guitar with her missing fingers, only to find out she can't. She lost everything trying to kill Abby, even the last gift Joel gave her. I don't think its all bad in the end, since Ellie can learn to play the Guitar the other way. Like playing the guitar from a different perspective. That's just a hypothesis parallel on my part.

The ending is meant to be ambiguous because its up to the player to decide why Ellie did the things she did. Like how it was up to the player to decide why Joel did the things he did.

Gameplay feels great. Puzzles are not bad. But TLOU is a story driven game, leading characters Ellie and Abby constantly making decisions and behaving illogically are what drive me crazy. If not the outstanding gameplay and graphic, this game deserves below average.

at the end i was screaming at my tv and begging ellie to not kill abby , because she was so close to become a monster she was trying her best to be like joel getting revenge torturing making people talk but she just couldn't take it anymore and she finally accepted her mistakes and found out revenge is a pointless cycle without any result, lev made abby to understand this fact but ellie needed more time but hopefully she did get the point , for me it showed that in ellie there is some humanity left ,

it's kind of funny because when I've started to read some comments toxic people just reminded me the serephites, group if people with some crazy beliefs and just cannot accept their mistakes and give this game another shot and when others trying to open upsome facts for them they just refuse to listen and simply attack
people need to think about this game more because it's not even a simple game its a mirror that shows our community, thanks you naughty dog for sharing this absolutely amazing story with us

This game is perfect in terms of graphics and gameplay. But of course there are questions for the plot, but overall the game is cool. This game gives such emotions such twists in the plot, which another game cannot give.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The final showdown makes the length and the game's story worth it. I was VERY uncertain how to feel about how early our favorite character from the last game would get killed off and that most of this games middle section was following a brand new character but by the last 3/4ths it made perfect sense. I started to care for this character as well and understand why she did the things she did. Having the two mains not kill each other in the end but still letting ellie beat Abby within an inch of her life helped the pain of Joel and a few other characters sting less. This game was the most tense and heartbreaking experience I've had in a video game. The animation, attention to detail, gameplay, and art of this game has me absolutely floored. The Last of us 2 finally arrived. I opened the package together wit my brother to install the game. We played 6 hours a day until we finished it and we loved every minute of the Game. (Spoiler free) Thats not a valid critic if you look at this game from an at least a bit objective view

    Graphics and Sound (10/10)

TLOU2 is one of the most beautiful Games I have ever played. The graphics were really detailed, with realistic characters, detailed hair and what I loved the most, was how they recreated Seattle. The sounds were amazing as well. Everytime Ellie had to jump a long distance, you really heard how exhausted she was, every destroyed window sounded like the window we sat next to was just shattered in the moment, the window in the game did. Those are just a few examples.

    Gameplay (9/10)

TLOU2 excels over TLOU due to improvements in the Gameplay. Fighting and shooting got clearly improved, making every fight fun, the dodging mechanic allowed you to just beat up runners in close combat more easily and to dodge new, bigger enemies. New hiding mechanics like crouching in tall grass, impoved the gameplay for me personally as well. For me looting was an essential and fun part of the gameplay, but I get, why some people dont like it. Well its a survival horror and you dont have to loot everything if you dont want to. 9/10 because of a few bugs I saw.

    Atmosphere (10/10)

Its a suvival horror game, that always made you feel anxious in a lot of situations and got you emotionally carried away a lot of times. I had moments were I was really scared, some were I was really angry at characters and some were I was sad and had to cry some tears.

    Story (9/10)

For me the story of TLOU2 was great. At the moment a character we all loved died, I was really angry at the antagonist and wanted to kill this person and everyone of them so badly. Progressing through the story with everything that happened you saw how Ellie was destroyed by all that hate in her. She turned into a violent person, killing everyone in her way to the Goal, just like Joel. I loved that decision. And the moment you played as the antagonist you felt a bond with her as well, making the end game emotionally really hard to play. If you get carried avay with your emotions like this, the game mus be great

Se você tiver a chance, jogue e entenda o quão incrível é The Last of Us 2.

The lore is very well established in a beautiful apocalyptic world and the levels are awesome. The only part about the story that I didnt like was the ending. Even with that I really like the hole story up until that point and the ending isn't so bad that its kills the hole game.its not a bad ending and I'm sure the writers had a good reason for doing it the way they did. I just thought it should have gone differently. And that is just my opinion. Expand

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
