    I personally loved this game. I can understand that the choices of the writers were difficult to accept for some, this story is heavy and sad. I love Abby, at the end of the game even more than Ellie I think. I do think she deserve more love and understanding from the public in my opinion.. Great and sad game.

    I was a huge fan of the last one and I like to pretend this one doesn’t exist. They ruined everything. I am deeply upset, and can only hope that this game turns out to be a nightmare either Ellie or Joel had which they then wake up from in the third game.

    Dou nota 6 pela mecânica do jogo que ficou simplesmente fantástica ( personagens com movimentação livre em relação ao primeiro), realmente uma super evolução nesse quesito.

The only positive qualities of this game are the graphics, level design, music and the game runs with very little performance issues. These positives would normally be enough to make a game at least above average in the 5 to 7 range but the endless negative qualities destroy all of this. I cannot recommend more that no one ever play this game because of the negative qualities.

    Gameplay is overrated and ends up being underwhelming. In seven years, the only newly added gameplay aspects on top of the first game is the ability to prone and squeeze through tight narrow passages. On face value these additions to gameplay seem slick and are incorporated well into the level design but they are not industry innovative and not nearly enough to make you forget that you need to mash a single button repeatedly during QT events. The melee combat is uninspiring while the gunplay is merely acceptable.

    Perhaps the real problem for Part 2 is that the first game exists allowing Part 2 to be viewed in comparison. The first game was a masterpiece because it built up the characters and their relationship so elegantly. The conclusion was reached in a such a meaningful way that its impact will be fondly remembered for the rest of my life. Nothing about Part 2 comes close except for a few flashbacks that ironically remind you what it might be like to play a good game.

    The creators of Part 2 eagerly abuse the players emotions by exploiting what was built in the first game just to manufacture a driven plot. This is the height of laziness that is only confirmed by the numerous plot holes and Dues Ex Machina. The creators of Part 2 fail under their own weight as even the conclusion in this nightmare is wholly unearned. The message of Part 2 is completely lost because of how incomprehensible and irredeemable the characters and plot are.

    Part 2 is so bad that if the first game never existed, The Last of Us Part 2 would aptly be described as torture porn. The creators of this game should feel ashamed to have created this dumpster fire called The Last of Us Part 2. If I worked on this game in any compacity, I would hide this fact from the world to save myself from endless embarrassment.

    DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Save yourself from this joke game which will forever live in infamy.    … Expand

    You can be totally discouraged when the game forces you to play with a freak that kills your beloved hero. Also the game should give you experience, entertainment and fun.     Complete and utter crap, just because the graphics are updated doesnt mean it makes a good game. just like how having a pile of **** plated in gold doesnt change what it truly is at the end.

The story is brilliant, well-written, dark and told in a way which really keeps you wondering how it's going to end while the suspense builds. Well written characters and relationships, it's naughty dog what do you expect, but also character development plays a big role all up until the very climatic end.

Real conflicting moments which will have you question who is hero and who is villain. The game is 50% longer than the first game so it's not short. A lot is said between the lines it doesn't hold your hand, emotions and choices that aren't explained and would make the game worse if they were explained. I think this game isn't for everyone, you don't have control over what the characters will do/choose just like in the first game so all you can do is strap in, hope and not expect, which makes it all the more exciting. Once again Naughty Dog has delivered a experience I won't soon forget, a darker and more uncomfortable experience, but a thrilling experience nonetheless.    … Expand

    Acting performances are at the Oscar level.
    Gameplay is a solid evolution from the first part.
    The combination of everything creates a very engaging atmosphere, which it maintains until the final headlines.

    If you enjoyed the first part, you will definitely enjoy the second part as well.

    Not for the weak-hearted! This game is just as beautiful as a Red Dead Redemption 2. The game is smart. There are many accessibility options, indicating the company that made it is thoughtful. The story is like nothing you will ever play in a video game, let alone see in a movie.

How do you go from promising the fans that the game would be about the story and relationship of the two main protagonists from game one to forcing you to play as the antagonist who just killed a character you made them fall in love with 7 years ago? What in the hell is wrong with you naughty dog... Honestly the death of Joel I had accepted a long time ago, and to be truthful? I expected it at the end or near end of this game. But no... 2 hours in... without even giving us a chance to use his character in game! Especially after you advertised this game with Joel and Ellie featuring in the trailers heavy and literally lying to us with regards to the “didn’t think I would make you do this in your own” scene... that’s a separate issue I have entirely!!!

    Graphics were amazing as per usual, music and general workings of the game were 10/10...

    But the story had literally killed this franchise for me. Such a shame you had 7 years and kept us waiting for that... what a pile of crap    … Expand

The game is riddled with painfully inserted gender politics, thanks to the contributors you employed. Dirty gender politics have no place in a popular story, keep that stuff for quirky indy games. Much like Rian Jonson's movie you have done nothing to advance the story but inhected a political message and threw in two androgenic characters having a quick, dry, root.     The game is just amazing. Sure the story is something that has been stirring the community apart, along with reeling in Sony's haters along the way. But this kind of take is something that no other developers or story tellers won't dare to take. So props to Naughty Dog. My only gripe is that the game is pandered to feminism, or more to feminazis. But still the game did deserves 10/10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Concerning sequels, I find it is difficult to completely weigh them objectively. The game cannot exist unto itself, and because of that, it is already at a disadvantage. There is a lot to love and loathe about The Last of Us Part II.

    The graphics of this game have been praised enough, and though they are fantastic, graphics alone will not carry the title. Thankfully, they do not have to. They work in tandem with aspects which I enjoyed from The Last of Us to make a game which is a worthy sequel. The controls and style of it echo that of its predecessor, and it carries on the tradition of attempting to ground the experience in some semblance of reality. The world is harsh and makes no promise of life to anyone. While this effort is appreciated, it can seem jarring at times. In private conversation, I have jested that the game is a "depression simulator," and while the joke may fall flat for some, it is no less poignant of a synopsis in my humble opinion. This is, by no means, a shortcoming. In fact, the most effective of stories, I find, are the ones that force me to deal with a range of emotions, which this game does effectively at times, and ineffectively at others.

    Much of the positive emotions I have come to associate with the game, are derived from heartfelt moments between Ellie and Joel, of course. Their interactions are heartwarming, and the emotional beats of their story feel as personal as the two of them. There are elements of environmental storytelling which persist, and the game does not shy away from showing the depravity that takes hold in a post-apocalypse. Though there are moments which pull one away from the despair, they are tucked away behind flashbacks. The knowledge that this comfortable lull is a fleeting moment nags at the back of the player's mind. It will end, forcing them back to the discomfort of the main narrative.

    While these flashbacks are some of my favorite moments in the game, I fear they are also misused at times. Some events seem out of place, as though they would have been more beneficial if utilized earlier on. The attempt at getting the player personally invested in the other playable character, Abby, and her compatriots, seems to fall quite short. The player grew to appreciate and empathize with both Joel and Ellie over the course of an entire game. The same cannot be achieved for an entire group, let alone one character, in a far shorter amount of time. In fact, I would argue that Abby should have been the initial playable character following the prologue. Starting with her recurring nightmare and inciting action for her quest for revenge, and subsequently viewing the end of the original game from a new perspective. It would have also allowed for the player to observe the same all-consuming force of vengeance taking its toll upon Abby, much like it would Ellie. The difference being, that Abby's vendetta stops with Joel. It is not allowed to bleed over to those immediately around him. There is the great potential for an incredible story here, but I fear that it may have become too enamored with the idea of saying something profound.

    Whatever it attempts to say is irrelevant. At its core, this series has been one focused on its characters. It should not be a fable. It should not attempt to lecture the player about morality. Morality means nothing in this world. You have already been made party to dooming any hope for a cure. No, this game is not about what is right and wrong. It is about human relationships, and the depths to which people will delve to endure and survive.    … Expand

    This game is a masterpiece. Yes, the story is upsetting in places but beautifully touching in others. I normally don't care for trophies but I will definitely platinum this game.

The scriptwriters hated firat gen characters so much that most them died or badly injured. Tommy came out as the only guy survived throughout the whole game with a severely injured body. Those who gave high score definitely did not appreciate how interesting was the first game. The characters development was so good compared to the second part. Joel used to not trust anyone and now telling outsiders who he is? Heavily pregnant Mel running around like her belly made by metal? Same logic goes to Dinah. Ellie overcame so much just to forgive the one she hated the most even she vowed not to let her go throughout the story? Abby saved two children from opposition gang and protected them juz bcos they are young but did not hesitate to kill Joel who saved her as well! No mention of Jesse the father of Dinah's child after one year event at all but instead D+E? Messy timeline especially the ending part could have ended at the farm.… Expand

    The Last of Us is my all time favourite game. I love Joel and Ellie and their story. So when I heard Part 2 was coming out I was ecstatic. But then... I saw the spoilers. I was disappointed to say the least. Yet, I still decided to play. I knew the death of Joel was coming, but I was not prepared for him to die like that. I was beyond angry and upset.
    When Ellie began her revenge murder spree I was more than happy to help, since I had grown to love Joel, and I too wanted Abby to die a horrible painful death. AND THEN THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO MAKE ME PLAY AS HER. I didn’t like it but I came to understand her character. The point was to see it all in her perspective.
    But as I continued to play, my anger towards Abby and my need for revenge slowly disintegrated into nothingness and I didn’t even realise it.
    Hurdle after hurdle, death after bloody death, the moment finally arrived. Yet I didn’t want to kill Abby. Like Ellie, I found that my thirst for revenge ended and I didn’t find the need to kill her.

    It didn’t hit me until the end, but Part 2 played me like a fiddle. When I saw the spoilers and watched Joel’s death I wanted nothing more than to get revenge. Yet Part 2 convinced me not too. Having to encounter death after death, I realised revenge is empty. Whether you like it or not, at the end of the game you understand Abby and, like Ellie, begin to grieve Joel properly without being fixated on revenge.    … Expand

    I will give this game one point for the good graphics and that´s basically it. The way the story unfolded was really an utter disappointment. Why would you kill of the main character and force the players to play for hours with his killer? I mean this is a clear cut F** Y*** to the face of every player who actually LOVED this series.

Without spoilers, TLOU2 faces the uphill battle of making you care about a character that starts off almost irredeemable. In my time with the story, I felt a wide range of emotions for this character and others. When I finally finished the last scene of the game, I was left with the satisfied feeling of a story that felt total, complete, and moving. The game deals with, represents, and successfully addresses topics like sexuality, ideology, and morals that are hard or tense to discuss with ease. It does so in a way that provides a bridge to relate to characters in a way that allows you to overcome their differences and appreciate the ways that they emotionally connect with you as the player.

    Gameplay wise, TLOU2 plays a lot like TLOU. The melee combat is more refined and satisfying, and the fighting scenes are most intense and sometimes more chaotic. A few added parts to the gameplay include the ability to manipulate infected interacting or attacking your enemies in an organic way. Exploring the world and it’s secret corners often goes rewarded with lore and loot. There are plenty of fights that are available but not essential to the story as you go.

    Graphic and sound quality is outstanding. Naughty Dog pushed the PS4 to its absolutely limit, and it’s an outstanding comparison to games at the beginning of the PS4’s lifecycle until now when we’re approaching its end.    … Expand

    Those who can't get into the plot and can't understand, won't like it. And we must not force it because, for some, it's too heavy.
    It's a game for those seeking realistic and    I'm a psychologist and, in therapy sessions, I deal consistently with trauma, violence and horrible real pains. This game represents it so well that is really hard to play it continuously and think about it all.
    Those who can't get into the plot and can't understand, won't like it. And we must not force it because, for some, it's too heavy.

    It's a game for those seeking realistic and intense experiences in video games. It's for those willing to learn about life, able to think about our cruelty, our pain, the pain of the others, and our empathy.

    In addition, I must point out that this was the first game that I really felt identified. I'm not saying that this is the only one that discusses race, gender and sexuality, but until now this was, in my opinion, the best. Because it's so natural, unlike many others, and because all the characters are perfectly realistic: no more fragile and weak women! Real women outside of video games are much more Ellie than Princess Peach, and I'm proud of it.

If you liked LoU, give yourself a favor and don't even bother to watch even the spoilers nor the game itself. Avoid this game, does not worth a penny. Because what is important in this series is the story, and LoU2 destroys it. Animation, modelling, engine - all for nothing. Everything happens at the right time, the game does not sacrifice history at any time, there are also no moments of "sealing" as was speculated by many. The story of the new character Abby is very well constructed, without leaving any loose ends and the game leaves the player on a tightrope, it turns out that there is no way to choose a side of the story to support, however much you love Ellie and Joel, what Abby does is for her principles and in this post-apocalyptic world it ends up being blood for blood. I believe that what happened to Joel was deserved, it hurts me a lot to say that for a character I love so much, but it's the truth. We had new friends like Dina, Jesse and many others, who give us an even deeper connection with Ellie and Abby, showing how similar they are like it or not. I give my most sincere congratulations to Naughty Dog, what they managed to do with this game is no joke. If you played and you may not have understood what the game is really about, I suggest you play again, very calmly, with your head in place, because the feeling of anguish and loneliness that passes to the player is an unbelievable thing.    … Expand

You wanted us to care about her and realize that there's no such thing as good and evil in a world like that. Well you've failed miserably. After what she did so early on, she became irredeemable. We only resented her character, and forcing us to play as her was as disrespectful as that Manny spitting on Joel. I really feel like I wasted $60 when the rest of this game is phenomenal… Expand

    Absolutely immense, this emotional rollercoaster will have you happy,sad,angry, and in tears , if you were as immersed on the story as myself!
    Forget the first game, they are different entities. Different motives,the first major major shock in the game ( you know what I mean) left me hating it,the game,the future of the game,I was so pissed off and genuinely upset as I was attached    Absolutely immense, this emotional rollercoaster will have you happy,sad,angry, and in tears , if you were as immersed on the story as myself!
