The story feels too forced we all know that what characterized the first one is its good story but for nauty two wanting to get on the all inclusive train forgot to make the story Joel's death was so basic that it does not represent anything just a reason for revenge, something super exploited in video games and those who tell him that this game has the best graphics in history that only fix the red dead redemption 2 you have the same graphics and it's open world stop defending the indefensible this reminds me of netflix… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What is the most valuable element of the end of a story? It's the pay-off. In the Last of Us 1, you finish the game with a feeling of satisfaction because you just finished processing a massive plot twist and the final cutscene carries a scent of mystery and anticipation for the next installment while also offering a much-desired pay-off. The Last Of Us 2 however, succeeds in undoing all of that. By the time, I was done with the game, I immediately noticed there was no pay-off but instead all I could feel was an unrelenting sense of emptiness as the main character, Ellie ends up losing everything for nothing and the new character, Abby is the only who has a decent conclusion. The game somehow disrespects all our favorite characters and destroys them like they are nothing and from their remains, they try to build a new character whom we are forced to play as and encouraged to sympathize with. I did my best to try but to no avail, as the game simply put, attempts to coerce us into liking the character and the experience is very similar to a mother stuffing food into a child's mouth because she believes the child enjoys it when they actually don't. The Last Of Us 2 is a tragic story and nothing more. It bears no emotion, only rage with no tears. The pacing of the story is extremely subpar, as well as its narrative as the game constantly forces us through flashbacks within flashbacks and while, this is somewhat tolerable at first, it gets stale very quickly. As for the gameplay, while being jampacked with intense moments where you must 'smart' your way through levels instead of just going in guns blazing, it's still very slow and clunky and there is little innovation between the previous iteration and this one. The Last Of Us 2 is a far cry from its predecessor and throughout its story, it constantly stabs its fans repeatedly with the ending being the final twist of the knife.… Expand

    Not a story about revenge, it's all about violence and how dangerous is using violence, The last of us was good but Part II is a great masterpiece and without any doubt, the best video game of all time.

    Un excelente juego, desde su jugabilidad, gráficos e historia. La historia si bien es un poco decepcionante, no por lo mala pero si por los hechos que ocurren durante el juego y algunas cosas que pasan con el protagonista del juego anterior, es una historia que te atrapa de principio a fin.

    Story is mediocre, gameplay is alright. The fact you play as Abby for about 10 hours is ridiculous. She’s not likable. Not because of the way she looks, but because her character is trash. She’s a stone cold killer that they attempt to make you empathize with. I could have dealt with playing as her for 2 hours, but around 40 percent of the game is crazy. Her dialogue with Lev is terrible.Story is mediocre, gameplay is alright. The fact you play as Abby for about 10 hours is ridiculous. She’s not likable.     No one brings up the amount of glitches there are everytime you try to climb a ledge.
    The dialogue is so banal
    The same animation everytime you stealth kill
    The AI was just as bad if not worse from 1st game
    When your GF is laughing at how bad a games story is and asks “wtf are you watching” you know its trash.

    I would like to talk about what the game pleases me
    in sound design is something impeacevel
    in graphics and captures of facial expressions is for sure the best game I have ever seen
    the game deserves Goty for having the best fascinating technical details but the way the narrative develops, I believe it was a good narrative but I really didn't feel the emotion of 7 years ago that I had with part 1

    made me accumulate a gigantic hate for Abby
    even after 10 HOURS of gameplay showing Abby's story she was not able to take a gigantic hatred of me for her
    The game was based on revenge all the time
    ellie lost everything for that
    when I really thought I would have the satisfaction of watching Abby die
    was give me the human value 'Vengeance only brings the worst' and 'forgiving is right'
    i wish i could be relieved to see ellie be able to kill her and she feel relieved to have got her revenge but it wasn’t me deliver that emotion
    Joel's death made me want to die inside
    the character q in the first game said:
    -do not trust strangers
    left to be taken by a group of armed people
    all that Joel said in part 1 to try to make ellie grow strong was completely forgotten

    The whole experience in the game is in vain
    one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen was ellie playing the guitar
    I will never be able to have the same emotion that I felt when I heard her playing and me knowing that Joel was fulfilled his promise to teach her
    all the emotions you have in the game are lost due to causes of 'human values'
    i really wish i could cry like i cried in part 1 after replaying it 5 times
    but I don’t think it’s possible after the feeling of insastification after finishing the game
    The game is perfect in technical matters but fails to make the player feel an emotion equal to 7 years ago with part 1.

I want to f*****g scream. Not only did Naughty Dog wanted us to sympathize with this psychopath who tortured Joel in front of Ellie with a literal golf club, by showing us her sAD bAcKsToRy, but also they completely neglected Ellie who everyone expected to be the main focus (as she should!).     Story is garbage. Abby sucks. This game didn't need to exist, yet people hoped it would be good since they probably figured that Naughty Dog deemed there was a story worth telling. Sadly, this story was not worth telling AT ALL and should not exist. Hope to god they don't bother making a third game because no one wants it.

    Just loved the game, it was the best ending of a generation, good graphics, didnt run throug any bugs, loved the representativity, Naughty Dog put every effort into all details and it worked really well

    Spolier free Review: been playing this game for the last few days now and I love every minute of it. Of course you are gonna play a ND game for its story but story is not the stong point of this game, the environment is. all thw people who are review bombing it are pathetic to say the least.

    But: the story is unsatisfying. If you decide to make a game that gives you no choice in anything except for how to handle encounters, you better make sure the story is compelling. 20 hours trying to catch a person to you let her go in the end? And 10 more hours playing that very person that you are chasing and you pretty much hate by that point? Why bother? Honestly I finished the game just to know the ending (which surprisingly made my impression twice as bad!).
    Plus all the annoying flashbacks? Can't Neil just tell a story without flashbacks? I think at one point we were like 3 flashbacks within (yes, flashback within flashback within flashback).
    Then the characters, oh boy the characters. Ellie murders HUNDREDS of people along the way, but is shaken by killing 2 or 3 more when the story needs it. Abby is just flat and cliche all over (they killed my dad, so I will spend the next 10 years hunting down the killer).
    Don't listen to the critics, its political. Also don't listen to people saying review bombing is based on LG BT issues. I haven't seen any review here so far confirming that. The story is just bad. Either let the player choose, or serve them a good ******* story.    … Expand

    Pretty cool game. Fun gameplay, nice graphics, interesting story. The pacing gets a little sluggish at some points in the middle, but it has a good conclusion.

    The video game is different from the trailer, new dog studio just made a fraud. I don't understand why they creat different characters with the same name and same look. If this game is independent, that would be an astonishing and wonderful game. The last of moral sage is a better name to describe the theme.

The story focuses more on the involvement of minorities than making an actually good sequel that builds on the story. I spent a good amount of time and effort avoiding spoilers, I figured it was all being blown out of proportion and there was no way a game as good as TLOU would get a sequel that was anywhere near as bad as everyone was claiming. I was warned by more than one friend not to spend the money but I did and now I understand the hate. I went into it knowing that Joel doesn't survive and I kinda understood that decision, he was getting older and honestly he wouldn't be capable of the level of fighting and action it would take to survive the hostile landscape they exist in. I expected him to go out in a cliche but respectful way, saving Ellie or Tommy (his only family) but the choice they made here just pisses in the face of all the emotion and connection players developed over the course of the first game. I assume a lot of people did what I did and replayed the first game recently to refresh all the info, so these emotions were in full force. The fact that NaughtyDog was willing to treat his character with that level of hate and disregard shows how little they care about anything other than making money by pushing whatever agenda is hot.

    There are so many other ways they could have told this same story that would have been amazing, instead they chose a way that has established characters doing things that go completely opposite of their personalities and instead of figuring out a way to make us feel some sort of compassion for Abby you take the easy way out and force us to play as her for 10 hours and just hope we care enough at the end to overlook the insane choice Ellie makes by not killing Abby because woman beating in man's head with golf club, good but woman killing woman who took almost everything she cared about, including her fingers, bad.

    The game has positives, when I first started it I was blown away by the visuals, they're breathtaking. The game play is good and everything seemed polished with none of the glitches or issues that seem to be present in most AAA titles lately. The only problem is the story and there is nothing that can save a story this bad.    … Expand

Graphics are really amazing and game play is ok for this kind of game but this suppose to be interactive movie and story is lacking everything. Worst story for long time in gaming industry and worst ending ever. How can anyone think that this is even enjoyable?

    This game doesn't deserve a 0 but it doesn't deserve a 10 either. I vote 1 because of the press misleading 10s and the fanboys defending a mediocre game giving it 10s as well. Graphics good ,gameplay good, story really bad. Delivery of the story and pacing is even worse, especially at the second part of the game.

    Gameplay is almost the same as the first one with small improvements not enough to make it enjoyable for me, puzzles are repetitive and tedious, the graphics are amazing as expected and the story is awful, as you may already know. Pretty mediocre in my opinion, the story makes it a 3 for me.

    Game-play: This is a very divisive topic. Let´s just say this: if you liked the first game´s game-play style you will love this one too. By the way the "jump" button kinda sucks.

    This games is, gruelling. Not in a good way. The graphics, mechanics, sound and music are top tier. But the entire story is just, bad and full of plot holes and character inconsistencies and awful choices.. If you have to play this buy it second hand, lord knows there will lots of copies on ebay/Facebook soon.

    Just finished. 9.6/10. It's an extremely well executed video game. It might not make you feel good, and you might not like the plot, which is fine, but the story was creative and well crafted, and nobody is complaining about the graphics and gameplay. The negative brigading seems pathetic.

    Environmenta are beautiful how the nature overtakes seattle is impressive, character detail is also somethign to give a good score, An upgrade in gameplay and progression tree that will give a lot of ways to play wonderful.

    Yes the story is not the best, i was mad the moment i start playing with abby , i had 12 hours of gameplay more or less and i thought i was about to finish the game and then abby’s story gets on the way.

    I will really appricate if abbys side of the story was optional since alot of the hype of the main story was lost due to that drastic change.

    Killing Joel could’ve be change to kidnapping joel maybe ? I really think that the story of this game could be better at the end we do everything for nothing since ellie didnt kill abby .    … Expand

I just hope the negative response doesn’t end up hurting the chances of a Part 3 lol. This is where i am biased and although if someone rates the game separately, meaning graphics 10/10, music 7/10, gameplay 7/10, story 1/10, it won't get a 2. But given of how disappointed i am from the story and the fact that i waited for so long for this, i really can not give this game more than 2. Unfortunately, the creators and everyone around it will say that most reviews are bad because the don't believe in diversity and stuff like that, but everyone of them seems to forget that the DLC in the first game had already told us that Ellie is lesbian and 99% of the gamers did not seemed bothered at all. Diversity is not the problem, using diversity in order to make a game relevant and edgy is the problem. P.S. Joel will always be one of my favorite game characters next to Nathan Drake and Arthur Morgan!… Expand

    - The graphics are beautiful. Some of the best this console generation has to offer.
    - The gameplay is good, not great, but good. - The gore and kills were very cool and very brutal. - Joel. Yes, Joel. The very little time he has on screen were great. The opening of the game and the flash backs of him were the best parts of the game in my opinion.
    - Sound and atmosphere were on point. No complaints there.

    Now the cons:

    - Very, very boring game. I was bored within the first 4 hours. Looking for materials and supplements and ammo and collectibles were like 70% of the game. I know the first game was like this but the level design is so big now it became very tedious and annoying. - The characters were terrible. Even Ellie was annoying me. Abby was a pain to play with. It was a cringe fest. Supporting characters were very average at best. Jessie was ok, Tommy too. Everyone else, terrible. - Characters appearing from thin air. I couldn’t believe how some characters just meet up with me out of nowhere. Like, where did you come from and how did you find me. Happens on like 3 occasions. Impossible. - The end. What a terrible ending. Has to be the worse revenge story ever. I just don’t understand how they thought people would like the end result. I would of rather Ellie die over how it turned out. Trash. Garbage!

    Like I said. This isn’t a 0/10. Its decent, but has a lot of flaws. The hype over this game and fake reviews it got from journalists is what really hurts it. It is nowhere near a 10/10 or 5/5 or 100% score. It really isn’t. 4/10 from me. I was going to give it a 3 but the graphics and sound and atmosphere picked up most of the slack. Don’t buy this game brand new. If you really want to play it, buy a used copy. You’ll probably still feel like you wasted your money 25 hours later. I’ve deleted it from my PS4 and it will never be back.    … Expand

    What an incredible way to fill an unsuspecting player with hopelessness and self-disgust. I played through the whole thing and came away just hating myself. After so many years of waiting, is this how they wanted players to feel? I wonder at their intentions.

    Other games cannot give you more dramatic experience than 'The Last Of Us Part II'. This is most amazing progress in game history. Thank you to Naughty Dog for making epoch-making game.

    Many aspects of this game have let me down and i am dispointed. This game does not feel consistent with the original in terms of characters and story, which is a large reason for my disapointment. Gameplay and graphics were great though.

I was expecting much more because it was mainly coming from Naughty Dog, one of the best story tellers. But, i can clearly see i was wrong because of this game. I'm fine with playing as Abby, but they make her so bad. She kills Joel, one of the most beloved character in gaming history, and then they make you play as her. The thing that makes me so angry is because of the way Joel died and what he did before he died. He saves Abby and then acts dumb. In the first game, he was smarter than in this game. He tells them his name, which ends up getting him killed. And the way they killed him is terrible. He should have had a better death maybe like Arthur Morgan. The last thing that i will complain about this game is that the ending was horrible. Ellie killed all of Abby's friends and when she finally gets to Abby, she lets her go. All this hatred towards Abby and killing all of her friends to find out where she is, to end up not killing her. One of the most terrible endings to a highly anticipated game. I will say though, the game looks stunning and beautiful. The voice actors did a great job, but the game is mainly the same as the first one, but 3 buttons change. Its just the same game play. I will say, I love the flashbacks with Joel and Ellie. They were so much fun and I would just play those segments rather than the whole game. You can tell that the developers put much love into the game, but its ruined by the story. . I also like how there are options for people that have problems with hearing or seeing and such. That makes it so that the game is for everyone. I don't recommend this game to anyone and you could spend your 60 dollars on something that is worth your time.… Expand

Cuando la toca por última vez, la canción representa la esencia misma de quién es ella, pero esta última vez se rompe debido a la pérdida de sus dedos, pero también a la pérdida de algo mucho más. La música simboliza la restauración de Ellie y el vínculo entre ella y Joel, pero también esta nueva ruptura revela una parte faltante de ella misma que siempre desaparecerá ahora que ha aceptado que Joel se ha ido. La pérdida de esta parte importante de su vida se puede escuchar a través de los punteos rotos de las cuerdas de la guitarra que suenan tan trágicos después de escuchar ese hermoso ritmo durante todo el juego. Es un mensaje tan trágico y hermoso de aceptar la pérdida y encontrar el perdón interior. Es una pena que la gente no entienda el final y simplemente lo limite a "la venganza es mala". Es mucho más que venganza y odio. Se trata de amor y perdón. Personalmente, creo que Joel estaría orgulloso de que Ellie se encontrara a sí misma a través del perdón en lugar de continuar con la venganza. Sacrificó a la humanidad porque creía que no tenían cura para su inhumanidad. Joel encontró la humanidad perdida en Ellie, y ella le dio la razón al final. Por último, después de que Ellie rasguea las últimas notas de Future Days, deja atrás la guitarra que simboliza su nueva habilidad para seguir adelante con su vida y supuestamente regresa con Dina en Jackson.     The gameplay is very good and fluid, the story is somewhat repetitive but does not lose the thread of the plot, the graphics are excellent and you can see the detail they did in all this time; you fall in love with the characters and the stories that collectible documents contain. undoubtedly the best farewell game for play 4; cyberpunk has it hard.

All my friends said that would never happen but I knew it would. The ending was deserved for both characters. Joel killed Abby her dad trying to save Ellie .. Ellie was never in the story for Abby she was just the girl Joel killed her dad over. Then Ellie kills her friends and its a stalemate... SPOILER !! Ellie sees this in the end its beautiful.… Expand

    Great story and characters. Best game of the decade. Any plotholes can be filled by DLC (Which I hope they do.) Well worth the price of admission - thank you Naughty Dog and team for taking me for this ride.
