    TLOU2 is a wonderful game. I experienced a wide range of feelings: nostalgia, grief, hate, revulsion, thankfulness, compassion. Anyone can be a good person or an **** And it's not carved in stone. People are changing. No matter skin color, religious beliefs, gender, or sexual preferences. The game shows that a lack of information and rash acts can lead to disastrous consequences. The storyTLOU2 is a wonderful game.     Gameplay and technical aspects are nearly perfect. They're improved and very adjustable to each person's preference and playing style. There are some bugs here and there, but nothing that compromises the gameplay experience. However, these qualities don't outshine the bads of this game, since The Last of Us is focused on the story and the characters. In that sense, the characters are often forced to do things that are out of character or simply incoherent just so the story can be driven to the writer's desired direction. Aside from Ellie, Joel and Tommy, the characters weren't duly explored, which made me think "if they die now, I don't care" a lot. The message about revenge was also poorly conveyed, mainly because, once again, the story feels very artificial. Another bad aspect is the length. 20+ hours is too much for a first play in a game like this. It's unnecessarily dragged where it doesn't need to be. All in all, I wouldn't recommend.… Expand

Крайне спорное решение убивать главного героя первой части..И вводить главным героем его убийцу, причем такую.. Это вообще почти никому не понравилось. Зачем её так много?! Тем не менее, игра не заслуживает таких низких оценок. Она длинная и насыщенная геймплеем и несмотря на сомнительные решения и все эти левацкие движения рассказывает достаточно интересную и захватывающую историю. Игра не шедевр, но и не провл . Невероятна игра.. Я надеюсь, что они пересмотрят все свои ошибки и сделают следующую игру лучше. Главные минусы: южет Эбби и всяэта пропаганда левая. Naughty Dog, зачем это надо было делать?     The introduction to the game is one of the best I've seen in any game and that's not including the accessibility options. I would even go as far to say the intro is more emotionally and visually impressive than any other game after their full experience.     Ahhh ich liebe es!!! Zwar finde ich den ersten teil besser aber ich liebe auch diesen teil ich verstehe aber auch jeden der ein Problem mit Part II hat.

I like the first 10 or so hours of the game but then just as the story seems to come to a head, it goes right back to the beginning to make you experience the story from the villain's point of view. Not only does this completely ruin the pacing of the game, but it presents another 10 order so hours of the game that are completely unbearable, since you're playing as the woman who killed joel, a beloved character from the first game. I dont know who at nauty dog thought that would be a good idea. The second game completely throws out what was good about the first game in favour of a bland revenge story that offers little to no character development at all. For these reasons the game is very disappointing. However I didnt I did enjoy some of this game, and I find the core gameplay loop to be fun, which is why I'm not rating it lower.… Expand

I bought the collectors edition and I really sad I did that because this game is just not as good first one and completely forgets why the first game was so good. Throughout my playthrough I always has one word in my head which was why....why would do that....why why why???? They make you play as the girl who killed Joel and try to make you understand why she killed Joel I didn't buy the game to play as someone other that Joel or Ellie I loved those characters why are they introducing so many new characters that don't seem to fit in anywhere. This games story just seems to kill off anyone that you ever get attached to and every time I seem to progress it just seems to hurt though characters that I've Loved I progressed to the end of the game and la loses two fingers I keep going she loses her girlfriend I keep going and Jesse dies everybody keeps dying and so the game teaches me that as long as I keep playing more bad ship will just keep happening to people that I love I don't care about Abby I've never have I don't know why she's in the game because she has no connection to really anything that makes me want to care about her and this game just seems to forget that everything that made the first one great.… Expand

    This wasn't the case however. Naughty dog made a couple of very bold choices regarding the direction of of the story and, for the most part, I would say that they worked out.     From a gameplay perfective its alright. Pretty much the same gameplay from the last game with a few added mechanics. If you liked it last time you will like this time.

    Lastly this is by far the best looking game I've played in a console and I'm quite excited to see how it will look on the PS5.    … Expand

    Don't listen to the bigots, the story is actually quite good unlike the first game, which was basically just "The Road". Some very well written characters here, with amazing CG performances from everyone involved.

    The Good:

    - Graphics-wise, in my opinion, looks pretty stunning. But I feel this game would have been suited for a PS5 launch day release then we can see the full capabilities of the games engine.

    - Combat really similar to the first game and I enjoyed it, plus the new additional movements and whatnot.

    - The crafting and upgrade system felt really polish and good. Having the gun benches here and there to custom my weapons was also a nice thing to have.

    - The AI has been improved quite substantially and that was a plus side.

    - It felt more horror like compared to the first release. It had a mix of the Walking Dead and Outlast vibes here and there. For someone who isn't a big horror fan, I did not expect walking into this but at least it kept me on my toes.

    - I really enjoyed the easter eggs like Nathan Drake's ring from the bank in downtown Seattle and the throwback PS3s and PS Vitas.

    The Bad:

    - The way Joel's death was handled. It felt very intentional that the writers decide to kill him off just for the sake of it and hence using that as the entire basis of the game.

    - We were promised that this game was mainly about Ellie but in comparison, I felt that I've been playing Abby for almost 60% of the time and I did not like it one bit.

    - I did not enjoy playing back Abby's backstory because it felt useless, removing this would no doubt make the game shorter but this time, it's quality over quantity.

    - The overall storyline and character development did not feel fluid at all. The game was literally jumping here and there and at certain parts, especially after playing Abby for over 5 hours. I felt like putting my controller down and switching my PS4 off.

    - The ending was also disappointing. From the beginning after Joel's death, Ellie swore in killing every last one of them. But at the very end, I have a feeling that Joel may not have wanted that to happen but Abby's death was well deserved considering the amount of pain and suffering Ellie has gone through... she lost her parents, her surrogate father, one of her closest friends (Jesse) and has put everything on the line just to seek revenge and avenge Joel. But, Ellie decides to let her go... that was a really disappointing part to see.

    What could be done better:

    - If Naughty Dog wanted to have Abby's backstory. Maybe, they should have decided in doing like what they did with Uncharted The Lost Legacy. Keep it as a standalone game and that 10 to 13 hours of gameplay should suffice.

    - The overall plot could have been done so much better. Ending Joel within the first 2 hours of the game was really heartbreaking considering everyone loved the character he turned out to be. Possibly making some sort of death scene at the end of the game, maybe when he dies of old age after going on his last adventure with Ellie would have been a much better approach in my opinion.

    - Also ending it could have been written so much better and I CANNOT emphasize that the ending was nowhere as top tier as the first game. The writers and director honestly could have decided to let Ellie kill Abby considering her dreadful past. I mean that was why Ellie decided to leave her family and go to California anyways...

    Conclusion:

    Overall, this game could have taken a much more different route than anyone, even myself would have ever expected. There were too many plot holes which did not make any sense at all. The characters despite a vast majority being fan favorites, except for Abby and the rogue WLF's could have been developed and given far more emotions and a stronger personality. Killing Joel should not have happened and he should not have died in that sense considering how much he and Ellie have touched our hearts from the first game. Yes, I know normally living up to the standards that were already set from the first game will be really tough. But everyone has been waiting for 7 years to see where the gang would be and this was just a major flop and let down to the entire community and the players.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The first Last of Us game is my all-time favorite piece of media. A true masterpiece. This game, however, was a massive disappointment to me. A major issue that I had (spoilers ahead) was that Ellie knew what Joel did, and should have been able to understand why many people might want him dead. In light of this, her revenge story made little sense to me at all. All of the light and hope of the first game is gone here and Ellie is a shell of her former character.

    I appreciate that great stories can make us feel negative emotions which are worth examining, but this story did not deliver on any of the pain of seeing two of the most beloved characters in the medium utterly destroyed. This feels like it was written by completely different people to the first game, like adolescent fan-fiction. It left me feeling empty and utterly betrayed, traumatized even. I wish I could un-play it, so that my memory of Joel and Ellie's original story was not poisoned by this cynical and bleak offering. Sadly, there is no going back now.

    I get that Joel had to die. I could have accepted that for this story, but it was just poorly done. For me Abby’s story was even more dissatisfying as Ellie’s, which I only felt compelled to complete out of morbid curiosity and the lingering hope of some kind of resolution. Why didn’t Ellie seek the Fireflies herself after discovering she could still offer the cure? Wouldn’t that have given her life meaning? Because the only surgeon who could perform the procedure was dead? That’s not convincing to me at all. I simply don't understand how this game received so many perfect scores. I also thought the review bombing was political, and some of it surely is, but having finished the game, I cannot rate it any higher than 3 out of 10.

    Many people have said that a sequel to The Last of Us was never needed. Nonetheless I was so excited to hear that Naughty Dog where making a follow up. I thought that if anyone could deliver on a compelling sequel it was Neil Druckmann and his team. For years I thought Druckmann was some kind of master storyteller, but I guess TLOU1 was just a one hit wonder —a perfect confluence of creative forces and time and place. My story of TLOU finishes at the end of the first game, with a masterpiece I would recommend to anyone.

    It seems that I must also add that I have zero issue with anyone's sexuality in this game, or the LGBTQ issues the story raises. None of this has absolutely anything to do with my dissatisfaction and disappointment with this game.

    Finally I want to add that this game looked stunning. Visually this is the most beautiful game I have ever seen. Next gen even. The artists who worked on this game are hands down the best in the industry. I hope they were paid well for their excellent work. The setting was awe inspiring. The game mechanics were also a satisfactory evolution of the first game. Animations seem eerily real. Unfortunately the game as a whole was an enormous disappointment that I wish I could simply forget.    … Expand

    Starting off with the positive points:

    + The soundtrack & audio; Gustavo Santaolalla pulls off another very emotional and fitting accoustic background which often returns with the guitar being played,

    + The graphics; these are absolutely stunning, few games are on par with this and they can really get you into the setting of the game,

    Now off to why this game is just a 4 in my own opinion

    - The story; obviously this is where a lot of people nope out at the game, and I completely understand that, for some the sendoff Joel gets is a literal spit in the face (Yes, I mean that scene).
    The character of Abby is being forced down your throat making her look like a good girl in comparison to Ellie. The absolute zero care I have towards Abby's friends... Was I supposed to feel something towards them when they died, like sadness and regret? I sure didn't with the exception of Owen who felt somewhat human. A lot of the events and actions that happen are so ridiculously far fetched it removes all parts of feeling somewhat realistic (who sends a pregnant woman out in the field? and don't come saying they got to pull their weight, as she's a trained doctor or medic she could surely take care of people in the WLF homebase without being put in the frontline). The relationship between Dina and Ellie was so angsty and insipid I mean, they are both 19 years olds who have gone through so much, do you really believe they have the time and know how to act like modern day 16 year olds who got into a first relationship.

    - The mechanics; pretty much the same as the last game and not very innovative

    All in all a game that has not lived up to it's expectations which was hard from the start compared to the first part but nonetheless did badly.    … Expand

    Its a great game that lived up to my expectations. The characters are well written making every cutscene more emotional and heartfelt. The graphics were amazing. I would definitely recommend.

You were able to build sympathy with each of the characters. All in all, they all try to survive. They all have scars. And to what end does revenge help that? I thought it was a brilliant and long lasting game with balanced gameplay. However, It became a little too generic in terms of the gameplay. I would have loved a bit more diversity in skills and combat moves.… Expand

    The story is absolutely is the most immersive experience I've found in a game since the first Last Of Us title. This is why I think content creators are giving poor reviews of the game while still the vast majority of players who play it in its entirety love it.

    While I in no way think think that content creators opinions are obsolete, I do believe that the level of immersion obtained whilst entertaining an audience whilst playing yourself can and will take away from that immersion. Their viewers take that opinion and take it here where they are consistently rating it a 0/10 which is extremely unrepresentative of the game visuals acting and audio alone.

    This game is meant to be experienced personally, so play the game in its entirety alone without spoiling yourself and I truly believe the game will surprise you.

The game also has very unnecessary scenes such as Owen and Abby I was left traumatized after seeing that. The game should be rated for what it wants to represent and it does it perfectly. Tetris is also a good game, but nobody would rate Tetris bad for its simple graphics. Unfortunately, that's exactly what people with TLOU do. The game is about hate that gets out of control at some point the more you indulge in it. Everyone who leaves a hate rating here does exactly what the game describes. It is a kind of mirror of our all-destructive society. Constructive criticism is important and always appropriate. What is done here with TLOU is simply not fair. Every gamer will benefit from this game because, as already mentioned, it is the new reference in terms of staging and other developers want to measure themselves against it. Have a nice day.

It is a difficult story to enjoy but it did make me want to see the game through to the end even though I felt the game could have cut about 5 hours worth of gameplay and still make it satisfying. If I had the option of rating the game out of 100, it’d be a 98, this is because I wish they had a difficulty trophy to the game to encourage more people to play and experience the game on the survivor option. They have added a myriad of new setting features to the game which can improve your game play while also scaring you half to death in various areas. Overall an absolutely wonderful game which I can’t recommend enough to people, but what I would say is to play the first game before to understand the connections between Ellie and Joel before the events of part 2.… Expand

I play the first The Last of Us a couple of years after it came out. After hearing how good it was I purchased the remastered version for the PS4 play it and absolutely fell in love with Joel and Ellie. I felt heartbroken when I saw sam turn, for then Henry to take his life after killing his younger brother. I put myself in his shoes. I probably wouldn't have been able to pull the trigger. That moment stuck with me for a very long time. Just like the death of Sarah, the ranch scene, the time Ellie saves joel and Joel's learns to trust her. Those are the reason I loved The Last of Us. Because of the emotional character build up that the game allowed me to experience. Then came the announcement of this game. I was so excited about this game I wanted it the day I heard about it. Then I heard about the leaks. Given I went out of my way to play this game spoiler free, by staying away from comment sections, staying away from Twitter, Instagram, any youtube content that contained spoilers. I wanted to experience this game with no input from other people, and I succeeded. I managed to stay away from all spoilers, and experience it for myself. Played through it saw how Joel has his guard down and falls into a trap by literally putting him self in the middle of the room with compleatly unknown strangers. This is the man who ran over another because he felt like there was an ambush planed, and he lets that happen to him? Come on Naughty Dog you know better. You made the first game why is the original have such good writing and for the send off of a beloved character, you did this so lazily. Then you expect me to care about the person who killed him? No that's not how this works. Then Ellie goes off on a murderous rampage killing everyone in her way just to let her live? Ellie has lost everything and she gets to have a happy ending? I thought you loved these characters. I'm so disappointed with the story hat I don't know if I ever want to support any future endeavors. And yes I know I'm just one person but, i was a dedicated fan of this game and yeah I'm not owed anything, I have no entitlement to anything. And neither do you. The graphics and sound design are breathtaking but what good are they, if you can't bring the one thing that binds them together- story, out properly. Such a shame.

The story is polarising especially if you have grown to love the Joel and Ellie, and ND was successful to make us feel a roller coaster of emotions throughout the game. I cried, I swore, I let Abby die once or twice, I swore again, I cried again and then I was happy. Conflicted but happy. This is a revenge story and it will never have a sweet ending, whether you got your revenge or not: it will only have two possible endings: death and redemption. Which in turn Ellie decides to not kill Abby. WTF?!!? So that whole journey we went though just to kill this girl and now she's alive?! Also there's a super forced, awkward sex scene and Joel dies and the game was overall just annoying after a while. You alternate between 2 characters, Abby and Ellie for the majority of the game in the first couple hours you come across whatvwas for me the most difficult thing to watch in a video game the death of Joel Miller which was in my opinion unnecessarily brutal. However as yku play the game you come to find out that the brutality of Joel's death wasn't just on him alone this whole world is shown to have brutality in equal measure throughout the game. From killing people with baseball bats to hammers, from setting people on fire to shooting their arm off, I unexpectedly realized just how brutal this game could get in which I realized the way Joel was killed wasn't abnormal for this world. As you play the game and more particularly play as Abby who in my opinion had the funnest sequences in the entire game showed the kind of person she is and her motives for killing Joel. The death of Joel while completely devastating and for some heart breaking was justified and i fully understand just why Abby went out of her way to kill Joel. If you b like games that put you through a emotional roller-coaster similar to the first one then the second one will be for you. I found myself emotionally drained by the end of the game but the story and gameplay as well as the graphics are by far some of the best I've ever seen in a video game. In my opinion this is the best game Naughty Dog has ever created and truly worthy of 10/10 and GOTY.… Expand

Ну да, умертвили Джоэла, жаль конечно, по первой части к нему привязались все, но в жизни тебя может убить все что угодно, и где есть гарантия того, что его и Томми не загрызли бы толпа заражённых во время патрулирования в один из таких дней? Так же в первой части играют на чувствах «отцы и дети», а это достаточно сильное чувство. Вторая часть скорее строится на ненависти, мести (принцип Талиона - «око за око, зуб за зуб» и последующем искуплении ГГ, так как если не она это остановит - то будет это продолжаться до бесконечности (где есть гарантия того, что если бы Элли убила бы Эбби, то тот же Лев не пришёл бы мстить за Эбби убив бы например Элли, Дину или Томми).
    Вторая часть - это взрослая игра, про взрослые отношения, про смерть, про разочарования, про потери, про предвзятое отношение к некоторым меньшинствам, про жизнь в пост апокалипсическом мире. Геймлей - 10/10 (реально очень высокая планка)
    Графика - 10/10 (обиде деталей и травы просто зашкаливает)
    Сюжет - сюжет оценивать по цифре мне кажется бессмысленно, потому что, по-моему мнению, есть только два варианта оценки - понравился / не понравился. Мне сюжет понравился.

    O melhor jogo de todos os tempos. A franquia TLOU é incrível.
    Reclamar da morte de Joel é para pessoas sem maturidade, que deveriam estar assistindo desenho. É uma pena, não gostaria que isso tivesse acontecido, mas a história era pra ser assim e cumpriu com maestria seu papel. Divisor de águas pela coragem. Infelizmente jogos com essa ousadia serão difíceis de ter novamente, afinal o público está acostumado só com café com açucar de sempre, se mudar um pouco já ficam reclamando. Chega de histórias patéticas, queremos mais obra de arte como essa. Tenham liberdade para trabalharem roteiristas e ignorem essas reclamações idiotas. Incrível darem 0 ao jogo porque o Joel morre. Игра продастся хорошо, левая пресса разрекламирует, а шлейф от гениальной первой части приведёт старых фанатов. Которые будут разочарованы. De verdad es un juego decepcionante, con una historia sumamente mal escrita, queriendo forzar una moral “correcta”, cuando durante toda la trama (mal escrita) Ellie mata a muchísima gente, ¿y al final decide perdonarle la vida a sólo una persona? La cual es responsable de matar a un personaje muy querido de una manera cobarde, sometiéndolo entre varias personas, sin honor alguno, torturándolo, además de que Joel acababa de salvarle la vida... y todavía piensan que puedes tener un poco de empatía con un personaje (Abby) creado con una moral, creencias y acciones forzadas, a conveniencia de un guión tan pobre y manipulado por su creador.
    Que por cierto, la confianza de Joel hacia unos desconocidos en esta 2da parte es sumamente incongruente con lo que te establecen en el 1er juego., si hubo una “evolución” en el personaje ni siquiera se molestan en explicarlo.    … Expand

    This is an insult to fans of the original. Not only did Naughty Dog used false advertising to make Joel seem as the main protagonist(or at least have a QUARTER of the total screen time), they manipulated the trailer footage to make Joel look younger. They basically fooled all of us, Joel was the selling point, and they KNEW IT.
    Also, take political stuff OFF video games. Push an agenda elsewhere.

    Beautiful looking game with dated gameplay and a terrible story. For a single player story based game that is the most important part. It's written like a badly done fan fiction that thinks it's telling a deep story when in reality it's just a mess.

    I liked the game. I liked the gameplay. The plot is ambiguous, I hope dlc will give answers to many questions.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
