    Amazing game! People are hating the game because of the attachment they have with the characters and I was attached too from the first game, but this is a apocalyptic world and a very real one too. Support the people who want to create something new and real.

For me it is an incredibly game, the gameplay and the graphics are incredible, in my opinion I think that it is not receiving due recognition just for not pleasing everyone, the message of the game is clear: revenge will never bring you something good, you can lose everything even life, the simple fact that they killed joel has become a target of negative criticism when that gives you a lesson: every action has a consequence and sooner or later it will come to you, it also seems incredibly ridiculous that they are offended by the LGBTQ + theme as if they forgot that in TLOU 1 Ellie kissed her friend,stop being childish and immature, they enjoy the game! Because the game is a damn masterpiece… Expand

    Amazing visuals and a story that raises the bar for other video games. What a roller coaster ride. If you enjoy a game that grabs you by the feelings and keeps shaking, this is the game for you.

    Some games and movies SHOULD NOT have sequels and TLOUS is a living proof.
    The game by itself is the peak of PS4 hardware BEATIFUL graphics and mechanics, but sadly the STORY and CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT are worse than UGLY.

    This video game is a masterpiece. I can’t imagine I could love the antagonist of the game so much. Fantastic storytelling. I just want to thank Sony interactive entertainment, Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, and all the people who has a part in creating this masterpiece. I just want to thank Every Last One Of Them.

It's a challenging and layered narrative that shines a strong light on the importance of perspective and empathy. Once playing through the game and finishing the story, it's apparent why you were shown both perspectives first-hand. Many of the criticisms leveled at the game and the "lack of revenge" against the so-called antagonist are very surface-level and blind to the deeper levels of story and motivations at play.

    I am giving 9 out of 10 just because I don't like abby but I like the overall game and why the developer had made us play as Abby for 10 hours ?! They marketed as a game with only one playable character that's ellie why did they changed it ?!?!! It's stupid but still the game is a masterpiece !

Some might not like the story but I appreciated how it was created to show how we handle revenge and how it’s up to us to stop the cycle. Sad story and wished for a happier ending but over all it was an amazing game and I’ll keep playing it… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Such a disgrace to the previous game. This was supposed to be the continuation of the first game, which the false advertisement showed us. Everything I liked from the first game, the relationship between our two main characters, the depth of their personalities, the story of hope in an uncertain world, all of it was taken away. The franchise was all about the story, you would think ND knew that since he co-wrote the first one, but no. He just threw it all out the window within the first two hours of the game, and then tried to make us feel sorry for a despicable side-character through the 2nd half of it.
    Even if we ignore the plot holes and inconsistencies throughout the gameplay, the story still feels forced and poorly written. It tried to make us feel guilty about violence even though it gave us no choice to avoid it. The message it tried to convey was soo dumb.. like we didn't already know revenge was a bad thing. I hated the Abby gameplay, I actually considered quitting many times but I kept playing with the hope that this story would turn out to be one of Ellie's nightmare.. which would still have been a better plot that the one we were given.

    Thank you Neil Druckmanm for ruining a franchise with so much potential, at least it will serve as an example for future game developers.

    I'll give it a 2/10 for the graphics improvement, and out of compassion for the people who worked hard on it during 5 years.

    This game came into my life at a very powerful time. To say this game is a masterpiece, for me, would be an understatement. I hold Ellie so close to my heart after completing the game I feel as if she is a real person. I was with this character through all her hurt and pain and, in a brief moment, joy. This game, in my opinion, showed how dangerous a revenge story can play out. I wantThis game came into my life at a very powerful time. To say this game is a masterpiece, for me, would be an understatement. I hold Ellie so close to my heart after completing the game I feel as if she is a real person. I was with this character through all her hurt and pain and, in a brief moment, joy. This game, in my opinion, showed how dangerous a revenge story can play out. My hope is that if they make another installment that it will continue down the mental anguish road that Ellie is going through and find, in the end, peace. By the end I was hoping for the opposite conclusion than in the beginning. I started to find some of the gameplay a bit repetitive and not much difficulty in solving puzzles but overall still very enjoyable. What I really enjoyed in the original game was the multiplayer and it's really a tlou2 factions that I want to come out. I'll be back to tlou1 factions in the meantime.… Expand

    The game is very immersive, for many people it can contain difficult subjects to understand, however if you are open-minded and without social prejudice, it undoubtedly gets a lot out of it and leaves you with that lump in your throat that is already typical in Nughty Dog. It is a masterpiece.

Also, the character that kills him, we have to play as?! Why play as an unlikeable character? One plus of the game, the graphics are amazing! The gameplay, not so much. I never liked the rigid running style of the characters and it's even worse here. I can go on but you know this game is trash. 1/10… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Everyone can agree that the gameplay graphics and environment are stunning. But yet theres a lot of controversy about the story. Most people seem to neglect the fact that ND said it was going to be a game about Ellie, not Joel and Ellie. Too many fans don't seem to leave the first hour and a half of the game in their minds. They watch Joel die and then that's it for them, they spend the entire game thinking it's a run of the mill revenge story and they dont comprehend everything that's playing out in front of them. It's also seems like none of them even pay attention to the fact that Joel is still by your side throughout Ellie's journey through the game, whether its flashbacks, dialogue, or just those little moments where you know Ellie's hurting. These "fans" who bash this game don't even seem to take notice of character growth throughout the game. They don't seem to take notice that this adventure takes everything out of you and Ellie. It destroys her in emotional ways she didn't think she had anymore, and actually sickens her physically at a few points. Then you play as Abby. One of the most well written characters I've seen, phenomenal from her voice actor to her story. You're supposed to hate her at the start, but anyone in the world should realize that she's doing what almost anyone would do. You learn her backstory, how she was raised by a very caring man, how his death affected her (side note: Jerry was the the dark horse character I didn't know I'd care about this much, and it was rough when you could tell that making the cure for mankind was weighing on him because the thought of taking a child's life wasn't something he wanted.). Anyways, you watch Abby grow after the events in Jackson, and you watch her grow more than any other character in the game. She starts to understand that there's more to the world than what she sees and you can tell she understands the consequences of everything that's happened when you finally make it to the end of her journey. I've seen a lot of people say the story falls flat but, they couldn't be more wrong. I've never played a storyline game that runs you through the wringer the way that this one does. The year isn't over, and with the PS5 coming out soon, I can see it being challenged, but there's no reason this game should not win Game of the Year. It should get Game of the Decade too. And the writers should be acknowledged more for the genuine piece of art they laid out for us to enjoy. The actors should be praised for the absolutely masterful way they portrayed their characters and the developers and soundtrack people and anyone who I'm forgetting to mention should all be acknowledged too. You all truly gave us something worth the wait, something I plan on playing many more times.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Having read a lot of reviews for this game; I think some people need to remember that it is, after all, only a video game. Admittedly it’s the sequel to a masterfully made original, but still not of earth shattering importance. It’s not a “0” nor is it a “10”. I believe it is a good enjoyable game but not as excellent as the original. This is a common phenomenon. With the possible exception of The Godfather Part 2, how often is the sequel not as good as the original masterpiece?

    I have been wracking my brain to try and work out what exactly is wrong with this sequel. I think the main issue is the disconnect between the actual gameplay and the story concepts. The game play glorifies murder. For example, there are no non lethal takedown, no ability to avoid conflict with all the uninfected enemies and some extremely brutal death animations. This is not a criticism as many video games do the same thing. I for one really enjoyed the virtual blood bath that makes up the majority of the game! However, many of the cut scenes and story concepts try and portray the opposite by Illustrating the negative side of violence and revenge. During such cut scenes, I found myself thinking “yeah, yeah - when can I get back to the slaughtering?” The actions of Abby and Ellie during some of the cut scenes just did not ring true. They seemed dishonest as if the characters are pretending to be sickened by the violence but can’t wait to get back to the murdering. I think this creates too much of a disconnect and does not make the characters believable or relatable.

    In addition, efforts made to expound the story concepts and explain all the character arcs made the game over long. I felt it should have ended sooner, perhaps when Abby let’s Ellie go after the fight in the theatre.

    Having said all that, it’s still an enjoyable, action packed and excellently animated experience.    … Expand

    30 hours of story that goes nowhere, and the destruction of the narrative in the first game makes this game completely pointless. It's a character they added were terrible while they destroyed the old characters entire basis for the plot to happen.

    Looks and plays good. That’s about it. It leaves you with a very bad taste and if you were a big fan of the first part it will simply disgust you. I played it twice and the second time was even worse. I took the disc out just before the final battle because it’s completely useless, ugly and ridiculous. I’m already giving the game away. I don’t want to touch it again, no thank you!

I’ve never felt so **** playing any other game, and in the end I was heartbroken. Nevertheless, I highly applaud Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog for coming up with such a daring story and giving people not what they want but rather need. To be honest, I think this game is far from perfect and some parts of the gameplay were underwhelming. However, some of the designs, characters and most importantly the complexity of the story makes me give it no less than a rating of 10.… Expand

Ellie's part was prety good but Abby's was empty for me. I just didn't care about her part at all. i wanted to be done with that as fast as posible so i could play with Ellie again.     Regarding LGBT:
    Do you call it LGBT propaganda? Play in ME Andromeda and realize the truth - this game has a minimum of propaganda, compared to other massive projects. This project in itself is "complicated" for complete understanding    Complete the game as you grow up and listen to every character’s words. So you will understand the idea and meaning of this project as much as possible.

The last of us part 2 is a great game just come out too late with all what happing in the world at the moment this game needed to come out for the PlayStation 5 with the LGBTQ+ so heavily in the game I like it but too be honest a lot of people at the moment don't like the community but anyway that's why I think it's controversial. So to the story it's a good story some people will be disappointed but they said you'd need a open minded about the game. But it's 4 years after the events of the last game and Ellie and Joel have been quite distended with each other the fact what happened in the first game with Joel killing the firefly to save eliie because she was his chance to have a daughter again. But it's starts with Joel telling Tommy what her did then goes to Ellie with dina on pritrol later we play as a woman called abby who later ons kills joel with a golf club then Ellie goes on a adventure too kill all of the people who killed Joel so joel needed too die. Ellie and Dina are together and have a kid the dad is Jessie but abby kills him then we play abby for around 10 hours so half of the game I finished it in 19 hours and 5 minutes at the end of the game Ellie has PTSD because abby killed Joel, Jesse and hurt Tommy badly. She with Tommy reminding her that Ellie said she will kill all of them she leaves her adopted son and girlfriend to kill abby but then realise that "revenge is a fools game" that's from red dead redemption 2 but basically that's what she was thinking so it just ends after Ellie and Joel make up in a flash back before it all starts off and she walks off and the game ends. There is a few things I've left off for people to find out there self's but this isn't game game for a happy ending it reminds you of everything that is said in the first game and that's what I love about it. Last of us part 2 is a fantastic game about revenge, loss and forgiveness in a beautiful but dangerous world this is not just a game is a film and book and a story. The last of us is a great way to say goodbye to the ps4 for the ps5.… Expand

This is the same playbook used by Rian Johnson with the Last Jedi. Destroy everything that people loved before. Subvert expectations over and over and over.     This game is a masterpiece. Yes, I don't like many decisions which have been made to the plot and the fate of beloved characters. But if you can stand the pain to slaughter, to see people decay outwardly but also inwardly, you will enjoy this journey with lots of great written characters and their backgrounds, deep emotional moments, unbelievable beautiful and detailed graphics and anThis game is a masterpiece.     It’s honestly a really amazing game in my opinion. There’s something huge that happens that was extremely poorly executed and could have been so much more. I really do enjoy the campaign as a whole and the gameplay is phenomenal! It’s really fluid and I genuinely enjoy playing through it. The collectibles seems really obvious and simple to find in my opinion. Other than those few flaws IIt’s honestly a really amazing game in my opinion.     Definitely deserves 10/10 it took me 3 days to finish the game and i really enjoyed every second of it and i just wish i can forget everything about it just so i can play all over again.. and i've never felt so connected to a game like this, this was truly the greatest experience ever and this game is a masterpiece.

    Played it out a hour ago, for me its the best game of the generation. I get the story twists may not be for everyone but i loved it. I like how you care about characters that u should hate, i like the combat and the gphx are crazy for a ps4.

    I enjoy naughty dog games for the story/writing and the movie like experience. The writing was horrible, full of nonsensical characters and moments and overall plot. So that's half of why I enjoy these games. Graphics are great tho.

That said, I still pretty much predicted most of the plot points and had a great time hating Abby and getting to know her and understand her side. Playing as Abby and seeing her story made sense why some could hate on her (I did not) but she grew on me and I enjoyed playing as Abby a lot. I hope to see Abby in a Part 3.     On its own this game would have been maybe a 3 because the plot was like something written by an edgy high school student. But having the nerve to be a sequel to such a great game makes it so much more insulting.

    Flaws not everything is perfect I didn’t like how I played as Abby for like about 12 hours I didn’t like how joel dies wish he could of stayed longer the end of the Abby Ellie fight could of ended in a Ellie killing Abby but wat ever the pacing is a problem but I was used to it as I played alien isolation and that game took forever like this game to finish oh And the first Abby and Ellie fight at the theatre I didn’t like I didn’t really want to hurt Ellie at all but I just had to go thought with it gameplay is 10/10 one funny thing about the gameplay is wen I killed an enemy and there screams are still there even tho I killed them the graphics omg is the best on the ps4 can’t wait to se it on the ps5 and for the ps4 touchpad well uh the guitar is probably the best use of that since the ps4 came out    … Expand

I even started to like Abby. She is a good character and deserves a chance. The ending was kinda depressing but so is real life and the message was really nice. I don't understand all the hate. I was also mad and sad that Joel died early on in the story but that does not make the story "trash". Some people say, that there was an agenda in this game but I don't agree. All of the themes made sense and were really good executed. It's still a game, so let's talk about gameplay, graphics, music, animations etc. All of those things were perfect and I can say the same thing for the actors. The details in this game are breathtaking and I can't wait to see how it will look on the PS5. The ending is a cliffhanger and because of that I hope, that we'll see "The Last Of Us Part 3".

It is not a story about hate, it is a story about love conquering hate and in order to understand the game proper you have to play abbie’s side rational. If understand abbie’s story and what she has been through you truly understand what Naughty dog has been wanting to deliver.     I knew about the spoilers but played regardless and thought since so called professional reviewers said you have to I would give it a chance one of the worst mistakes I’ve made with my money! Then I learned how they lied to us in the trailers I believe we should file a class action law suit!
