This game is not a Disney or Pixar movie. Many people need that formula. TLOU2 doesn't follow the formula that 90% of games follow. TLOU2 doesn't follow the formula that 90% of games follow. We've played that game before, we've watched that movie before... Thousands of times with different character names but the same format. It breaks another common trend as it doesn't try to teach you morals so if you need your games and movies to validate your already existing beliefs, you'll be disappointed. You might even be mad about it because it will disturb you. But that's the beauty of it too. Most games mediocre copycat, copy stamped formulas of the same thing over and over again. Why? Because of people that review low like this. People need games to be a certain way that molds around their values and expectations instead of allowing themselves to delve into the mind of the artist. And because of that, we end up with shelves of generic, safe games. TLOU2 is nothing like that.

They skip boundaries that most games wouldn't dare touch - and the result is leaving the player feeling a sense of loss. This loss is a melting pot of contradictions and ideas. It forces our eyes open to how conflicted the world is and how none of us can see the bigger picture. Just like our real world today. Everyone has ideas and are more concerned with being right than understanding the reality of how things actually are on all sides - so no progress can be made.

In a way, I'm kind of glad it's divisive because then I won't see hundreds of new games that copy/paste the formula until it becomes beat like a dead horse TLOU2 is delicate, brutal and way ahead of its time. That time may never come though - because people want that copy paste formula that they know and love. If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch any Marvel, Disney, Pixar movie and you'll find a predictable path that leads to making lots of money but the film is a rehash of the same thing. TLOU2 has amazing gameplay elements but where I feel it shines greatest is the character study driven storyline. It's a work of art if you can get beyond what you wanted to happen. Plotwise, it's a deep character study that pulls you in a whirlwind in a way that no other game has. Characters are overwhelmed in a post apocalyptic environment. I don't want to give spoilers. I played it all the way through and it isn't until the end of the game that everything comes together so well. You definitely need to get through it all to understand what Naughty Dog did.

Are people reasonably upset? Sure. Like I said, it's not for everyone. There's games like Animal Crossing and Zelda that are much easier to take in than this one. Naughty Dog did a fantastic job of making your a participant in this apocalyptic world by making choices that make you feel confused and shocked - I find it gripping. But for those that have a darker side, or a need to try something fresh and innovative - you'll find this to be one of the best games recently made.

Towards the end, I didn't like her anymore, but I started to like Abby. Interesting approach to tell that there's no typical good guy/bad guy in such a scenario. This game is a showcase of how important sound is. It ads the same amount to the imersion as the graphics. Could it had a bit more variety? Sure, but it delivers what was expected. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

The game is held up by it's presentation and riding off the first games popularity.

They try to be 'deep' with this game, but didn't commit to the writing I doubt they ever questioned themselves. A good theory is the director and the writers were just ego struck, this type of thing happens a lot. Any competent or even amateur writer would have fixed these issues, I'm sure there were some inside issues within the company/development for basic writing techniques/rules not to be in the end product.

Gameplay - OK. Grittier and bit more challenging than the 1st one.
    Sound - Great!
    Graphic - Damn great!

But the Story is totally awful, super bad. The revenge plot is ok, but how the game presents it to you is not great at all. It is boring, and in the end, it's totally freaking useless. What's the point of having the player went through all that if the ending is just meh?

The legacy of Joel and Ellie from the first game is completely ruined by this game.

Yes it doesn’t have the ending I would’ve wanted BUT it’s a realistic ending. The game puts you in the shoes of Ellie, of course we are gonna love and justify all of her actions because she’s someone we love and know, and then Abby, at first you dislike her so much but at the end you understand why she did all the things she did and you realize there’s no good or bad character. Why? Because if an outbreak like that happened, people would die, a lot of us would do anything to survive, some people would join groups, others would join cults, everyone has a reason to fight for, and if some stranger showed up outta nowhere and killed your friend/family member, or just someone you really cared about, you’d want revenge as Ellie did. I know I would. But you have to understand, your actions will have consequences and that is what this game is about. They all make different decisions and according to those decisions it’s how all characters end. Side note, people is hating on the game because of the trailer. Because Ellie and Dina are basically a couple. Bro it’s 2020, it’s fine if you don’t like that but at least respect it and don’t talk sh*t bout a great game because it has LGBTQ+ references. Basically that’s my review, if you’re reading this, thank you. If you wanna get the game but ain’t sure about it yet.. have you played the first one? If you haven’t then I highly suggest you get the first game first, play it as long as you want and then get the second game. Pay attention to everything, each character’s story, their decisions, do your best to find notes, artifacts etc, and oh, also play the Left Behind DLC so you can understand more about Ellie. I’m on my second playthrough of TLOU2 on moderate+ because I really wanna get the platinum trophy. Once I do, I’m gonna do a 3rd playthrough on survivor+ mode. (Hardest difficulty) and just focus on the story, no artifacts and stuff. I’ll just focus on surviving and let’s see how it goes. I can’t go without mentioning that Gustavo is a master with that guitar. Soundtrack is a maesterpiece. We don’t have an iconic theme song like on the first one, every song on the second one is basically based on the themes song. But every single song makes you feel the game even more, that’s why on my last playthrough I’ll play with headphones. I’m very excited to do so. To me, the game, is a 10/10. Not the ending I wanted BUT the one everyone “deserved” according to their actions. Also keep in mind game is about forgiving and what could happen if you don’t forgive people around you and take bad actions. Shoutout to all the people involved in the making of this game. Tlou and TLOU2 will forever be, my favorite games. Also if Cascina reads this (obviously won’t but shhh) you’re gorgeous as f*ck. If someday you decide to get married outta nowhere or you just wanna travel and make memories with some random guy, I’m the one you’re looking for. LOL. I’m out. Endure and Survive.

Some light environmental puzzles and a whole bunch of resource scavenging round out the simple but effective post apocalypse gameplay. These parts of the game are a big improvement over Part I. Unfortunately the story in Part II is much worse. The writers try very hard to make the audience sympathize with the new main character Abby but it just doesn't work. The story takes a lot of wrong turns, spends too much time on side quests, and really drags during the second half. Ellie sits out the two best boss battles in the game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I feel like this game had left me torn, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be, and there are things to be enjoyed in this game overall. The atmosphere, environments, and music are beautiful, making this a solid game but where TLOU2 falls flat is with its story and its characters.

The game is centered around Ellie and Abby's quest for vengeance, and while we see Abby get hers we don't see Ellie get her own closure. Considering Naughty Dog's message I feel like Ellie should've killed Abby at the end but still lost the things she loved as a consequence of her actions.

For Abby, I feel Naughty Dog really wanted us to like her as a character by trying to humanize her especially with her inclusion with Lev. While I enjoyed their interactions, it would've been better to make her more of a flawed character. If Naughty Dog still wanted to uphold the message that "vengeance isn't the way" then I feel she could be a flawed character that does bad things, feels guilty about it but at the same time tries to do good things in order to redeem herself (ex. Having Lev escape Santa Barbara while she fights Ellie). However, that doesn't erase the actions she committed and in the end, as her actions would end up catching up with her.

If they wanted to make a message about vengeance then they should've had us kill Abby but made us realize that vengeance is only temporary closure and doesn't erase the pain, and loss that we have to feel because it doesn't bring the people we love back and that there are consequences to seeking for vengeance such as death and destroying the people you love around you.

I also feel this story lacks cohesiveness compared to the first and that is due to the constant backtracking we have to do in these flashbacks. If Naughty Dog were to make the events in TLOU2 go in chronological order, not only would that make the game longer but give us more moments between characters such as Ellie and Joel.

The Last of Us 2 tries to make a story about vengeance and how it has its consequences, but its resolution is unsatisfying. I believe as Ellie they should've shown more of her stages of grief with Joel, but also we should receive that resolution that both have made amends with one another about Joel's actions in the first game. However, the end of the game made me feel like we don't get any closure for Ellie's character nor we get any acceptance that Joel is truly gone leaving me empty and a bitter taste in my mouth.

Overall, I thought TLOU2 was a solid game but it falls flat with its the message and its storytelling that could use a couple of fixes. If Naughty Dog is planning to make a sequel, I'll be interested, but I'll probably not buy it.

    1. Gameplay:
The best physics I have seen in any game. The jumping was a little off, many of the times the blocks that were supposed to be climbed - looked like something to be climbed on.
Sprinting and crouching are some of the best in game business.
    2. Action
The gore in the game. OMG!!! The best. Tarantino, and South Korean blood splatters. The great b-grade cinematic when it comes to actions.
    3. Characters from Part I
Grown to become very mellow, you can feel their exhaustion. Love Tommy being the brave brother he is, a great supporting actor and the sniper he showers on Abby and Manny. Best boss fight.

    4. New Character
I am not sure if the writers did this intentionally or they were over confident with their skill, or thought of consumers stupid.

    5. Plot
Game of Thrones season 8! nothing more. What we loved about the previous part was the subtlety and consequential things happening to main character caused by a chain of other small incidents. Part II on other hand just throws in scenarios out of blue. Kills supporting character in a seconds to put some shock value, but I personally couldn't feel much for the character, no guilt or regret. The death of Sam and Henry in part 1 moved most of us. It was instant, yes. But it effected us.

Whereas, in Part II they make Jesse a likable character, Manny, a badass, and Mel a sweet fighter. But none of their death makes the player feel anything.

And my god The end. ooofff.... So much fight, struggle, pain and hate. for what? Na da! naught! You have no choice in either kill or let her go. If they let user decide this small part, like RDR 2 did with main character in the final chapter.. Things and ratings would have been very different.

I love the fights, the action, the mechanics. and as an IT person myself, the game mechanic are magnificent. But they fall prey to the GOT-8ish plot line.

    6. Acting
Loved every single scene joel was available in, Troy baker did great job with the voice of Joel miller. You can't help but still love Joel and Ellie's flaws and perfections. And my god Joel still a badass till the last breath he takes.

The storyline really sucks. The writer is trying too hard to “educate” people. If you’re a hardcore fan of the previous one, please do not buy this one!! It just doesn’t worth it! Don’t waste your time to play it!! If you already have one copy, please return it or sell it.

Visuals are stunning, the gameplay is the same of the first game but improved and with new mechanics like rapel, the story is pretty good and yes, Joel is killed but you can see an incredible evolution in characters and also you can see that all the things have consequences but the story has in my opinion a little problem at the end that can be solved in a dlc but it has the same quality as the first one.

In my opinion if you liked the first one you have to play this too and you will love it and also is one of the greatest games of the generation.

Please consider reading: A The Last of Us Part II review, from someone who played it, enjoyed it, then immediately deleted it but felt empty inside.
Before we get started please note: I understand how this game has polarized fans and do know that I respect your views on this game because deep down we may have more in common with each other's reviews than we think.
I believe that, The Last of Us 2 was not the sequel we wanted, nevertheless it was an extremely "real" sequel. It's a fact that everyone's time in an apocalyptic afterworld is ticking, in this instance Joel was next in line. But here is what I think of Joel's death. 7 years ago, we were introduced to one of the most iconic video game protagonists in the history of gaming. A father figure, we came to cherish and love with our hearts. 7 years passed, some of us relived The Last of Us both on PS3 and PS4, and our love for Joel deepened on account of the game aging so well, much like wine.
But here's the sitch, by now, we as gamers are used to the hero winning, him coming out on top or having a hero's death, but that is not "real". What is real is that much like everyone, Joel's time too was ticking, 24 years of surviving was a mixture of experience and luck, luck which ultimately ran out and experience that was futile against Abby and her crew. The story whether we like it or not told a "real" tale of hopelessness. In truth we wanted a Joel and Ellie team up game where they kicked ass and reminded us of our times back 7 years ago, we wanted the bonding moments to make us feel that Joel and Ellie were not just fictional characters in a game but people we know, feel for and want to succeed in life. Ellie was meant to be written well but the reason why we probably didn't like her as much was because we could not get over the fact that she grew up and distanced herself from Joel because of his surgery secret coming out. In the end, Ellie gets not just the life but the ending that we the players did not want to see. Again, counting on this being "real" phenomenon really bugged me, games are supposed to make me feel like things are going to be ok, make me know that the characters i spend time with are going to come out on top or at least be respected when they pass away. Although it is hard for me, I still somewhat respect the way Naughty Dog went on with the game, it is hard to dislike a company many of us grew up with just for one game. I know, TLOU is not a game serious any of us wanted to see go down this path but it did, thats it. its out there, and people either like it or hate it.
I believe that the gay scenes could have been directed better, trying to do something as new as this, simply came off as if they were trying too hard to send a message. And that's where the controversies laid their eggs I think. In the end, at times it feels like even Naughty Dog was uncomfortable and was forcibly sprinkling homosexual innuendoes into the game. I believe the romance Between Ellie and Dina could have been far more beautiful IF IT STRETCHED THROUGHOUT THE GAME AND MADE ME FEEL FOR DINA AND WHAT SHE MEANS TO ELLIE. Thats why I loved Joel, we spent the most of the entire game as him, we know his story and we know his pain. TLOU 2 was supposed to be a revenge story but it gave me little to want revenge. I'm just going to say it, forgive me brothers and sisters, but i kinda did like Abby, if thats what devs wanted then they succeeded. I did not view this game as a political statement, rather as a blueprint of what mistakes one should avoid in storytelling. Abby's story showed me that, literally everyone has a story, TLOU just turned out to be a story about a man and a little girl, a story which could have been even about a mother surviving with her newborn baby (A Quiet Place style). Abby was not a bad character, yes I strongly disliked her for killing Joel, but I honestly feel like her character development was better that that of Ellie in this game. Unpopular opinion I know. Don't judge me but my favourite character in Game of Thrones was Ramsey, so yeah, I like to see new character developments.
Anyway, I firmly believe that this game should have been third one in the series, and if the devs were adamant on killing off Joel then I'm willing to make sacrifices, just please, PLEASE, if they killed Joel they could have given us a Gandalf falls with the Balrog in LOTR kind of vibe. And someone has to say this, this game needed more Gustavo Santaolalla and the original score in my honest opinion.
Bottom line is, it looks like many disliked Abby and still didn't care for her backstory. I think trying to evade her as she hunts Joel for the entire game would've been more interesting. In the end Joel and Ellie fail and Abby kills Joel. Joel dies in Ellie's hands while the TLOU music plays and Ellie quietly whispers DON'T DO THIS TO ME (like Joel and Sarah in the first Game).

There is so much more to say... it could have been so much better...

The game is crazy but I have seen that people complain about several things (spoilers) the LGBT of the game, abby, ellie and dina are not over 20 basically they are hotter than nun in covento 2) the death of joel, here you have to be impartial joel osea if a person kills your father who was about to discover the cure for a disease that killed millions of people what would you do? 3) the end the end is normal I mean if you are going to get revenge on someone kill someone you consider father and she no longer has a father what you should do is remove the equivalent of what she took from you abby already had nothing at the end of the game Be it friends, family, nothing, and from your perspective it would have been better if they killed her, but Ellie did not think that instead, Ellie lost a lot, but if she had friends or even a family, in my opinion, would I recommend the game? If you are a person who does not like to kill their favorite characters and all that, do not play it and think that the vast majority of games will be like this, but if you are a person who likes the realistic and is impartial when playing a game. game if I recommend it to you and the game is very realistic piche that even scared the scope of video games Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all the original TLOU is my favorite game ever. TLOU2 has better gameplay, better visuals, and the atmosphere and music is equal. Now onto story. Anyone who's bringing up politics is an idiot. The main character is gay, there is a trans character, its not shoved down your throat, it doesn't impact the story in any way negatively. If their existence makes you upset maybe it's time to grow up. Secondly yes the death of Joel sucks, I resented Abby from the second it happened and HATED that I had to play as the character who killed him. That's LITERALLY the point. It's to show that revenge EVEN when justified can make anyone look evil, Abby had every right to do what she did. Didn't make it easier to swallow, didn't make it ok, I still loved Joel and didn't want him to die.

Now regarding the "plot holes" that aren't plot holes at all really

"Abby could have told Ellie why she did what she did and it'd make it all better!" No it wouldn't. Ellie knew fairly quickly, it didn't change anything. She never disputes that Abby was justified in what she did. Doesn't make it hurt any less or make her okay with it. The rage Ellie feels isnt something that's going to subside with logic. Abby let her live TWICE even after she killed literally all of her friends and Ellie still couldn't let it go. No explanation of any sort would change that and Abby didn't want an explanation, remorse or an apology from Joel, she wanted him to die painfully and slowly and she did everything she could to make that a reality. "Ellie did all that and just decides violence isn't the answer!" No... Its showing that revenge doesn't fix anything. Abby got her revenge, she still suffered nightmares, was still miserable, the only thing that changed that is finding a purpose in life she resonates with (protecting Lev (her people)). Ellie realizes killing Abby changes nothing, it doesnt bring Joel back, it wouldnt even make her feel better, living with the loss of everyone you loved is much worse than dying and shed ultimately be killing a child, completing a vicious cycle of hate, accomplishes nothing except being a wheel of pain, when youre on top youre crushing those at the bottom but it'll all roll around eventually. "The game should be linear, Abbys killing of Joel was just for shock value and. Not earned" again not the case whatsoever. The way they did it was great. I wanted revenge, I started as Ellie and I killed EVERY SINGLE WLF I could find, I wanted them to suffer. Then I got stuck as Abby, playing with these characters I hated and wanted dead, and after spending time with them, learning their motivations and who they are as people makes it clear they're just people, just like Ellie and Joel, they're flawed, they're not just evil antagonists, i came to like Owen, Manny, Nora and of course Alice, I didn't hesitate for a second playing as Ellie to kill every single one of these characters, a couple hours later, knowing their impending demise and seeing these characters not as ruthless killing machines but loyal friends with people they love and care about and I'm empathetic and even regretful in the case of Owen, Nora and Alice. No Abby never becomes likable but honestly Ellie isn't likable either and the quirks that made her endearing as a kid are just annoying as an adult. A likable protagonist in a game like this is near impossible to do. I love Joel but he's not a good person either and has done A LOT of bad things.

No one in this game gets a happy ending and that's how it should be. The story isn't perfect, but it's still by far the best story of this console generation. Honestly anyone who reviewed this game on release date with a 0/10 should be ignored as there's no possible way that they played through the entire game andeven in their own reviews they make it quite clear the game isn't a 0/10 they just don't like the story. decisions. It's beyond stupid to review bomb this game. This game deserves to be talked about as one of the best of all time and the oy thing keeping it from being my favorite over the original is the lack of multiplayer which kept me playing the original long after the story was complete.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great sequel of a previous great and loved game, but not for everyone. I will start with the gameplay first. The gameplay is the same as in the previous game but with little new things(for example new skill trees or new upgrades for the weapons which can be seen).I really like that they added more exploring to the game because is making much longer and interesting. I appreciate that the weapons are not exactly the same one for the both characters. The listening mode is still weird but sometimes it can help you a lot. The graphics are one of the best ones I’ve ever seen. The sound is so good, it make you know when the battle start and when it ends, it can make you feel like you want to hear it more when you hear characters chatting, and even the gunshots hear awesome, and is also a important part when you try to play stealth because you can hear a weird sound when someone is seeing you.
Now about the story: I must say that I almost cried when Joel died and I understand why the did that, but the reason I still don’t like his death is how they killed him.It could be more heroic, like saving Ellie from a gunshot or something like that.In the beginning I hated Abby (even after the end) but after some time I realised that she’s not a bad person as most of the people thinks. Her appearance is still making me fell weird but after some thinking I understood why she look so muscular(is because she lives in a camp which is like a military base and also she wanted to make sure that she is strong enough to kill Joel no matter what or how). Ellie in my opinion haven’t changed much from the previous game. The only difference from the previous game is that she can swim, make her own decisions much cleaver and better(at leat at the end) and other little stuffs. I still don’t understand why some people have problems with LGBT of this game, or the ‘transgender’ girl, I mean how can that change the game so much, if you want you can always skip the parts where you can see these things. The ending lacks a little but it is OK.I mean it wasn’t necessary to make Ellie lose her fingers.
I encourage people to buy this game, but at an offer(just if you want). If you don’t have a problem with Joel’s death,LGBT,transgender,Abby arms I believe this will be one of your favourite games.

First of all, for anyone who hated this game deep down of their heart JUST because they read the leak or even worst because their favourite youtuber/streamer.. well i feel sorry because you cant make your own decision. Actually its 9/10 for me, I hated to play Abby at first especially how they cut Ellie story its just a bummer for me. Slowly i realized how the ND team want to make us seeing a different perspective, BUT still they failed to make me more care about Abby. in Abby scenario i played in rush and almost didnt enjoy it. especially how they make Abby stage are more linear than Elly. As a whole this game is not perfect game but i cant stop thinking about this game. i didnt readt about the leak, i got the leaked from my friends who pissboff about the LGBT and feminism, and i dont care. in the perfect world its not gonna happen anyway, also we already had Joel "hero moment" in the first game. ND put a big risk on this gam and Neil already told us it will divide us, and it worked! so what make thisbgame so good for me, i love how they potrayed Joel and Ellie relationship, they are not father and daughter they even cant say how much they love each other. Gameplay and graphic is one of the best in this generation. This is a great game but i cant recommend it to every person unlike the first one. Expand

Not much needs to be said that hasn't already. Bad writing, uninteresting characters, disrespectful and alienating to fans, and an unsatisfying ending

O jogo é muito bom, pessoas que tem uma mentalidade de criança n pode entender a historia, o jogo n é só sobre vingança, mas sim de consequências de atos do 1° jogo

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you don't end up moved, truly hurt by this story, you haven't played it the way you should have. Every person that end up hating the game, saying it ruined the legacy of the last of us, makes it even more logical that this game is a pure success. The level of storytelling here is above anything ever done before. ND went all the way, without a flinch. They knew the user reviews will be divided. ND made it that way, by going through this hurtful story, you end up learning that Joel, our beloved Joel and all the **** up **** he did in his past, he had to pay for it. The payment is salty af, but Joel knew it. He lived as long as he could with his burden and remorse, even if as he said, " if somehow, the lord gave me a second chance, I'll do it all over again." The love he carried and still carry for his "adopted" daughter, Ellie, is the reason why he did all these things to the fireflies, we all know that, for those of us who've played the last of us. But we had never seen all the damage Joel made by saving Ellie. In TLOU part 2, we get to see all the damages it did to the fireflies and how it destroyed the hope they had to make a cure and save humanity. Joel and his selfish choice doomed us. But because in the last of us, we're playing Joel, we don't get mad at this. we're some sort like "well **** the world, Ellie prevails on everyone!". In some way, we all end up acting as jerks against our own humanity. And the last of us part 2 slaps that reality into our face after 7 years of waiting, of being okay with that selfish choice. 7 years of preparation to put us back in our place and to teach us that life isn't fancy even in a game, that our actions always have consequences and we all have personal responsibilities for them.
The magnificent overlay of Abby and Ellie's time line in Seattle creates a deep realism, as we flow and end up fighting against Ellie, as being Abby. As a game of the mouse and the cat. except we're playing both hunter.
ND went deeply into characters story realism and into Ellie's trauma, providing us some of the best representation of a feeling, the loss.
The whole game play is articulated around the loss, the wound that it left, the denial and the anger then the acceptance, letting go all the pain, to be left with a void to be filled. All this, not clearly showed, but it is all this story is about. Acceptance of the loss, and getting over the trauma. We all lost a loved one, Joel was a pillar to us, and his death as some of you though, was like a bus hitting us right in the face.
To avenge Joel, Ellie lost everything. She lost and best friend, Jesse, she lost her love, Dina and JJ, and she lost the ability to play guitar, a skill she learned through Joel, a bond she lost the moment Abby bite her fingers. But the last picture from the window with the moth carved in the guitar and Ellie walking away in the background, without looking back, is a blurry way to show us she keeps on going. Everything that happened, is over now. We'll see what's next in a maybe part 3.

Terrible plot, Too many Flashbacks, Pointless Revenge lesson, Nothing new apart from graphic design perspective, Predictable cut scenes and Bad Execution. Its a perfect example that they tried to be too clever to blow people’s mind and i think they did accomplished it but in the wrong way!!

What makes this game really great is that how well it sticks to its theme of revenge and especially the cycle of it and how the characters end up in the end of it. It's not a black and white game but a game which is coloured and it up too you to find the colours : ie hidden messages. Theses hidden implicit meaning behind the story makes this game truely special. Expand

I've never played a game like the Last of Us II before. I was so immersed in the story and in the characters, and I felt what Ellie was feeling in the game. I was happy when she was with Dina or in the museum with Joel, I was sad when she was grieving, and I was so reluctant to push square in certain situations such as when she confronted Abby.

Story is a dumpster-fire. Beloved characters ruined. They took a great game, and turned it into a complete joke. The characters we know and love from the first game are different, and ignorant compared to who they were. The direction of the game is a disaster.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Absolutely fantastic continuation of the series. It’s a sad sight to see all the fake user review scores from people who clearly haven’t even played the game themselves.

This builds on everything that made the first game great in almost every way. Every gameplay mechanic has been enhanced, with some great additions to the core gameplay mechanics, with more options for stealth, weapon upgrades, new craftables etc.

During the 2nd part of the game my mind had 100% hatred for Abby, I kept telling myself there was no way I could ever like her, well I was wrong, as by the end, her character just made sense, the reasons and motivations for doing what she did, and her chance to redeem herself was very well played out. END SPOILERS - At the end scene it could have gone either way, but I was actually somewhat happy it ended the way it did. Going the other direction would have just sparked another revenge story. I think they made the right call with the ending decision.

    Historia horrible

No entiendo en que momento se les ocurrió que era buena idea acabar con lo que los fans esperábamos. La continuación de la historia de nuestros dos personajes. Está bien que agregen más personajes peor no que caguen lo que los fans pedimos a gritos

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
