    The game is really good. The gameplay, graphics, character development, etc. are great. The story may take some risks, but it's still great. Many people hate that it captures a different theme than the previous game, but that doesn't necessarily make it bad. Overall, I think Naughty Dog did a great job of making players invested in the story

    please note i have completed this game in its entirety. Now im going to be fair with this review the story was bold and the twist that the game had where the essentially turned abby into a joel 2.0 i thought really developed the character and made me feel compassion for her, however i did feel that her story felt like it dragged on forever and i just wanted to return to the theatre andplease note i have completed this game in its entirety. I think the graphics audio and gameplay where very good gameplay was similar to the first as i expected. I gave this game an 8 as it did what a good game was suppose to it gave me a decent story and fun gameplay that kept me entertained its not perfect or a 0 its just a average game for a gamer to enjoy. i will say that the first game is better and i hope if there is a next week that it can return to its roots and continue a great series… Expand

This is a revenge story in the purest sense. The entire plot is to show how stupid and meaningless and destructive revenge is. How blind hatred for others will destroy everything. Ellie ends up alone because she couldn’t come to terms with her loss. Abby doesn’t want to fight at the end because she realizes that her getting revenge didn’t make her feel any better and cost her all of her friends as well. This game is absolutely incredible and I really really enjoyed this as the sequel to my previous favorite game ever. The graphics are astounding, the player movements are so realistic looking that sometimes you just want to move in weird ways to see the models follow, the game design is good with some new and interesting enemies and a wider playing area that allows a bit more of strategy. Overall I think Naughty Dog hit it out of the park.… Expand

    Pretty much exactly what you expected to get from a sequel to the best game of the last generation. Everything from story to controls are tight. Can't dock it a single point with so much it has going for it.

    Going into this game, spoiler/leak free, and 30 hours later, enjoyed it...A lot!! If you don't take a video game story too personal and enjoy great atmosphere, gameplay and mechanics, pick this up!!

I am not a big fan of the story. Naughty Dog seemed to have too much of an agenda in making this game. Was there a reason in making Abby as buff as a body builder? It made no sense. I also did not care for the deception Naughty Dog did to the fans regarding the trailers compared to what was in the game. Also, if you go prone in gameplay, it can screw with the AI. They suddenly can not see you even if you crawl right up to them at times.… Expand

    An emotional story does not mean a bad story!!! It was one of the few games/films that made me feel really sad because of the death of someone, and that is an achievement on its own.

    Honestly a quality game. Lots of people here have an agenda against the game developers but if you genuinely want a good story based game to play, The Last of Us Part II isn't a bad choice.

    This game was such a disappointment. All the high end polish you'd expect from a ND game. But when the story is such and integral part of this game, when it falls flat as hard as it does the entire game suffers. I played through twice. I just didn't care. Sold the game used today.

    Amazing narrative that challenge you emotionally since the beginning. The characters development is quite impressive.

    In terms of gameplay, the game maintains some of the mechanics of TLOU, with new nice additions.

    The Last of Us Part II remains a controversial game, despite its great gameplay mechanics. It is not possible to please all audiences. In my opinion, the story has many well-written characters. Naughty Dog breaks conventions and shifted the story to a more darker tune.

Most players are used to the happy go lucky ending which spoils their perception because Naughty Dog wanted to portray reality of situations. That every action has a consequence. Joel saved Ellie but he took another's life. Ellie and Abby are much similar in terms of seeking revenge but Ellie did come out the 'better' person by forgiveness. Revenge is a toxic path to self destruction.… Expand

    And I'm being absolutely honest by saying that The Last of Us 2 is the best game I've ever played. The most deep story I've ever seen in a videogame.     (got a bit frustrated by the cliffhanger right in the middle of the game btw, but eventually I see why they did it. It all makes sense in the end)

    I know that this game is not what some people expected, but the gameplay is excellent, the graphics are outstanding, the tension is brilliant, and the story is superb. Did I like the first game better? Yes. But to expect them to beat that masterpiece is just plain unreasonable.     The game is so awesome, i don't have words to describe it. Even if don't look to incredible graphic, physics, animation, it would be still super awesome. It's literally the next level. Thank you naughty dogs for your work, it was worth of time we were waiting for this masterpiece and my extra money (i had to buy 2 PlayStations haha).

    Obra maestra! Impresionante apartado técnico y de diseño, sonido de 10, buena jugabilidad y una historia para gente madura en la que no hay blanco ni negro sino gris como en la vida real. Se aleja de las típicas historias basura con final feliz a la que nos tienen acostumbrados en los videojuegos y el cine.

I have waited 7 years to get Joel killed in 1st hour of the game? Why i suppose to play by his murderer? What is Ellie motivation to kill hundreds of people who didnt even know that fckn Abby and let her go in the end of the game? This is not about SJW haters. There's bad written story and 7 years old technically made game. Shame on you Niel Drucman. Naughty dog's games only on discounts now...

    Not sure what all the negative publicity is about. In keeping with the original, just improved game play and graphics. The most edge of seat, heart in mouth, scared sh1tless I've ever been. Not done yet, but so far, the best game since the first one. And the only game that gets one so emotionally entrenched.

    What an amazing game, well worth the wait. Was a complete emotional rollercoaster, don't know how many times I cried throughout the game. I just need to know what happens to Ellie, as the ending totally broke my heart

    If this wasn't a sequel to such an excellent original game, I might have given this    I'm sad to say that after years hoping for a sequel, I was disappointed by the terrible story, poor direction and bad choices made for the narrative and pacing of the follow up to a great game. While game play was clunky, but acceptable, what was done to the main characters of part one was a huge waste.

    If this wasn't a sequel to such an excellent original game, I might have given this title an extra point (up to a 2/10), because the story, even as a standalone is just lame and pedantic. The characters are shallow, no real development or cohesion throughout the story and despite all telegraphed forced emotional moments where they try to make me care about the characters and the story, they failed miserably.

    It doesn't surprise me that its sales are imploding (over 85% drop from week 1 to week 2). Did they fire the original writer for the first game?

    Amazing and mindblowing. This game is entertaining and heartbreaking, technically and graphically sublime. It portrays themes, rolemodels and subjects that are long overdue in videogames. I have never felt so conflicted about revenge and reflected on pain like during and after playing tlou 2.

    Last of us part 2 deserve the best picture and the game of the year. This kind of game brings the media to another level. If you are looking of a super hero kind of story, just pass your way. The story is more complex and deep, and can make you think about the different perspective between what is good and evil, and what post-trauma can be. Thank you Naughty dog for making such a masterpiece

    The fact that people are giving this a 0 is just obvious nonsense. I get that people are mad the story didint go the way they wanted it to. Based solely off graphics, game play, sounds design, accessibility, ect the game deserves more than that. Not everyone hated the story and personally I give it a 8/10

    The last of us part 2 is amazing. As a fan of the first game,i think part 2 is a worthy sequel. I accidentally read a spoiler 2 days before the release. Neil Drunkmann was right. It's a video game. You have to play it to form an opinion. An out of context spoiler is not the game.

    Naughty Dog keep out doing themselves, The Last of Us Part 2 will be remembered as a unique and terrifying masterpiece. Just like the name says, "It's the last of them" it was just a rollercoaster of emotions for me. Hopefully, we'll get part 3 in the future.

Everything has a 10/10 for me. But not the story, the story got an 7,5. So all in one its a 9,5 so i rate it a 10. Yes i had expirienced that emotional rollercoster as many of you. Also i feel like a lot of people are rating this game without even playing it, crying about Ellies sexuality or Abbys muscles, or that Joel died.... As many of you i also was annoyed at first at the 10-12hours Abby gameplay. But if u blend out the fact, that she killed Joel, She is a badass woman. I also thought that way of her, as we only had the Trailer with her and the seraphites. I loved that game a lot for me its game of the decade. Toghether with the last of us 1 and Uncharted 3, and 4.… Expand

    Although I am not sure I prefer it over the original they are both masterpieces in their own right. The gameplay has been greatly improved, and the story is different than the first one but incredible nevertheless.

    I played through the whole game and wanted to stop at every turn, for no payoff at the end. I've had an easier time digesting RE6. The graphics and gameplay mean nothing if you have to force yourself to get through it and never want to play it again. For a story based game, that is the aspect that this game lacks the most.

The criticisms apparently are from those who have not yet finished and are as absurd as that "it has a ps3 graphic" "it is a walking simulator" .... The big problem with the game is that it wanted to address two stories that were not they feel good in the same game, maybe a short dlc with the story of abby would have been enough but no, they were ambitious and that shows. At times it feels a bit tiring but when the action comes its quality speaks for itself. Technically it is perfect, narrative there is something left to the debt. however, we may be asking for something too extraordinary for a game that lasts over 25 hours.… Expand

    I will try explain to you without spoilers why people dislike this game. If you played the first game you got the story of two cerecters but in the game you got many of them that dont get so many time tounderstand them + there is something in the game that people that can not take other points of vision of situation can not accept so if you one of them i highly recomend to dont play in that and forget about this existence. But many people say its the game of the year but this game have many problems so if you can deal with them i can recomend the game to you.

    1.there are many cherecters and no one have enaph time to understand the cherecters even Ellie.

    2.the game only intresting on the hardest mode abd there no hints from the game for people to know that.

    3.there are many sitiations that less than 30 secends that it happend its give you a hint for ehat will happend and it distroyed the surprise.
    Example:in one situaition you will fall in to the floor but while you go there there is lightening ao you see there is a room under you.(this is the best explein withoit spoilers sorry).

    Fainaly i want to say its a good game but this is not what we want for part 2 so if you dont afraid to get med from something that you dont agree you you can try this game and may be you will get good expirians .

    I didnt like - the story, the characters (i even found myself disliking ellie) it felt like playing a teeny horror movie at times, the lack of chemistry with the characters, Joel's fate.

    Overall, i didn't like the game thst much, i do feel pretty disappointed really, and i di feel a bit upset with what happened to joel (i know its a game, and its a story too) but he was such a great character, and i would have loved to play another game with just him and ellie, but it is what is is, i wont be buying the 3rd if they do release a new installment, and i wont be replaying this game either.    … Expand

But it was not gamers or idiots who hate the game because a woman was the lead ot the fact she prefered women. Naught Dog gave a game with great graphics and gameplay but a poor story. Expected another great but this is not.The Last of Us is one of my fave games of all time. The emotional build, the characters, it was an amazing game, and wanted to see the sequel. I was excited when it was announced. Grant it, I reFUSED to look at any of the "Leaks" and got the game, and let me tell you what...I completely HATED it...after a certain scene in the beginning, I immediately turned the game off and uninstalled it without a second thought, never touched it again... I ended up just watching a gameplay on YouTube of it, and honestly, it didn't made anything better. They FORCED you to try to feel sorry for Abby...TRIED to make you like her which failed miserably. Where the first, I will say was a Masterpiece, the second one...was complete crap...I'm never playing it, looking at it, or gonna think about it again...I just want it to be a fever dream...The Last of Us should have just remained a single game... I was excited, and now, just very disappointed...and they couldn't even giving you a payoff, the pleasure of Killing Abby at the end... it was gonna be a 0, but the game did had some good visual, and the Guitar part is good...but, that's all... 1 out of 10. Will not play again, will NOT recommend...… Expand

    As far as game play goes, it seems to mix elements of Uncharted 4 and the original Last of Us, so that was fine and fun.

    Bad story though. And this game should have been all about the story. Pathetic, cowardly attempt at exploring the human condition. Lacks the substance to back up the message it is trying to deliver, by filling the plot with holes and inconsistencies.

    One of the best games of the generation, definitely a top 10. A story so relevant to our times about learning to forgive the other side and retain our humanity. A technical masterpiece in every aspect and enjoyable gameplay.

    No respect shown either for main characters either for series fans. Poor writing killed the game, strong emotions were achieved by a very cheap moves and overall logic was absent. Second part of the game is quite simply a torture, just like the ending.

    El juego es increíble, y lo digo de manera muy objetiva.
    Mejoró en todos los aspectos, la historia es agridulce (no es para todos) pero es una gran historia,, si bien me dolió la muerte de Joel, y hasta el ultimo momento odié a Abby, me identifiqué con al final Ellie y sentí que no podia matarla a pesar de lo que hizo.
    La música de nuevo en esta segunda parte es fenomenal gracias a Gustavo Santaolalla

    Every creative choice in this game – the deaths, the violence, the structure, the player character changes – had a pretty obvious point about cycles of violence and revenge. It hinges, smartly, on the most controversial moment of the first game and how horrific acts for the "right" reasons still have consequences. The structure, also smartly, puts the revenge tale in the first half of the game, and then forces you to empathize with all the people you killed retroactively, knowing full well there’s nothing you can do to stop what’s coming. It forces you to examine of the actions of "heroes" critically which it seems some players just don't want to do.

    I think, ultimately, it probably belabored it’s central point a bit too much, but I was gripped and tense the entire time. It is a fantastic achievement, IMO.

    Gameplay is classic TLOU but polished, with dozens of tense encounters, a more fluid combat system and a surprising amount of action set pieces. Also was pleasantly surprised by the number of jump scares. Visually, I think this is certainly the best looking game of this generation, perhaps the best looking game ever made.    … Expand

The game took me just under a week to finish (29hrs) then I went back for the platinum (extra 20 hrs). Had an amazing time with this game. The graphics and gameplay are phenomenal. Should you go guns blazing, it can get very brutal, some of the most over the top but realistic gore I have ever seen in a game. People are bashing this game because of the story not living up to their expectations, I new the leaks but never watched any clips. I was a little shocked at the direction, but not as upset as some fans of the original. I still went and pre ordered and was not disappointed. I didnt find the story or writing bad, maybe the way certain things played out could have been different, but they are what they are and I can live with that. If you're open minded about the story telling, you'll really enjoy this game.… Expand

    Great game! In parts you don't want to play it. (Understandably) But that's the idea. If you finish the story and still want to give it a 0-3 I don't understand. But IMO it's another great game by Naughty Dog

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
