This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics, the AI, the animations, the gameplay loop and the intensity of the enemy encounters are all great. Naughty Dog has unbelievably talented people who are simply the best in terms of Game Engine development and refinement of their own technology. They must be really proud of what they've achieved throughout these years and they have the right to be.

My big issue with this game is the story and writing. Joel dies at the beginning of the Story, not a problem at all: sets the mood for a huge ride into revenge and violence in the streets of Seattle. I liked the powerful prologue and I couldn't empathize more with Ellie. I felt the same as what Ellie felt and that's what that prologue was supposed to do.
While in Seattle though, a series of very stupid events happen. Leah, Norah, Mel, Owen, Manny and other characters die (sometimes even by a death worse than Joel's) and no one seem to give a **** about them or notice their death (for clearly forced coincidences). Characters motivations are often very bland and weak and Abby's journey often doesn't make any sense and as a player you struggle to empathize with her and her journey to "redemption".

The ending was very weak and not as powerful as they thought it would be. Imagine sitting at Naughty Dog hearing authors saying "HEY, this walk to the beach following Abby and Lev thinking at what she has done must be really cool" well it's not. Like it's not cool the final fight which I get it is intended to be anticlimatic but not to that extent. In general the powerful story of revenge and redemption that TLOU2 was supposed to be ends up being just an "OK experience". The only thing I can do is to be suspicious of their next work, this game simply leaves me indifferent. No hate, no love.

I'd rather not to describe all what's bad about TLOU 2 or rather what's good have left out of the franchise ... In short - first thing I've done after completing TLOU 2 was launching the first part and trying to forget that the sequel has ever existed ... Desperately trying at least just a bit to restore my memory to the state before I ran this piece of crap

This game is a masterpiece! Whoever says the oposite is too shallow to understand how deep the characters are. It's a game about consequences. From the begining till the very end.

Don't pay atention to prejudiced ratings. Play the game, try to feel the characters' feelings. Their passion. Their anger. Their pain. After that, take your own conclusion.

El juego lo único que veo que quiere hacerte entender es que la venganza no es la solución a los problemas porque tras una venganza vendrá otra y con el ojo por ojo todos ciegos no veo nada de inclusión ni nada forzado.

After finishing an entire playthrough, I would not recommend this to anybody. From a technical and visual aspect, this game is very good. But the narrative/story ruins the entire experience. The entire game feels very tiresome, forced, and unsatisfactory due to the bad story. The amazing technical aspects of the game are unfortunately not enough to redeem itself.

But the story, the literally killed beloved characters for the sake of killing, Joel's ending is so bad I wanted to end the game at that moment, the game feels so empty and sad, it feels like nobody, non the writers or the director was able to go over that moment.
And Abby, the most forgettable character of all time, not because lgtb stuff, it felt very cute when Ellie kissed the first time in the DLC, it's because how she is introduced, I mean Joel saved her, and then they tried to survive together, then seeing how it ends? man...
I loved TLOU, it's my favorite game period, but this, this is bad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd say I'm biased because I absolutely adored the first game, but clearly that's not the case because this game is getting some pretty nasty reviews from people who also loved the first one. I was beyond excited to see what The Last of Us Part II was going to be like from the moment the teaser trailer premiered in 2016, and I've played the first game countless times in preparation for the sequel which I was so excited for. After waiting seven years, tearing up with the physical disc in my hand, and playing through over 30 hours of the game and sitting through the entire credits sequence, I really cannot understand how anyone can realistically despise it as much as they do. Not only is it the most ambitious game Naughty Dog has made regarding just the "game" parts of it (graphics, gameplay, mechanics, etc.), but it is one of the most complex and intricately designed stories I have ever seen across any medium of entertainment. It's a story about love, hate, and loss, all in one. It makes you feel exactly what the characters are feeling, it forces you to see things from a different perspective, and it makes you reflect on not only the experience of playing it, but on yourself as well. I laughed, I cried, I felt intense rage, but simultaneously felt extreme empathy. Each and every plot point was carefully written and placed in a very distinct and entirely intentional spot, which makes it all the more impactful. The initial moment when Joel is killed by Abby is so painful and shocking that it left me at a loss for words, because that's what it was meant to do. If you were the slightest bit affected by Joel's death, then ND have successfully engaged you in the story. To judge a game simply off of this one event is so foolish that it baffles me, because honestly, there is so much more to the story than the death of a beloved character. It seems like nothing but a revenge plot at first, until it crosses the line quite a few times. Until you're forced to hit square while beating Nora to a bloody pulp, until you kill a dog, a pregnant woman, and the baby's father all within a few minutes/seconds of each other. Not only does Ellie question her resolve, but you as the player are forced to as well, and the second things start heating up, everything flips. The game forces you to walk in Abby's shoes, literally, and almost makes you start to like her. If you're anything like me, you reached the final conclusion regarding Abby that you could never forgive her, but you did learn to understand her and empathize with her, which I believe was the goal from the beginning. Lev and Yara are able to highlight those parts of Abby that make you wonder who the bad guy really is, and once Ellie leaves her picture perfect farmhouse family to pursue Abby again, that question is answered. Walking down the beach and reluctantly fighting as what can only be the shell of what once was Ellie, against the shell of what once was Abby, should be the moment you as a player realize that there is no good guy or bad guy. That's right about when Ellie decides to spare her life, and that was the moment that continues to stick with me weeks after my initial playthrough. As Ellie sits in the water crying, watching Abby and Lev leave in their boat, having lost everything, I as a player felt every emotion and couldn't help the tears from streaming down my face, too. That's when the game makes it even worse, and shows you just how much was lost when Joel died, because they shared a moment of attempted forgiveness the night before. At that point I already knew the game was a masterpiece, but as I watched Ellie set the guitar back down and walk away, it cemented that already obvious observation. This game is a work of art that people hate because it wasn't what they wanted or expected, which makes it all that much better. I didn't even know what to expect going into it, but it exceeded any and every expectation I had. I must give credit where credit is due, so a huge congratulations and thank you to every single person (and animal) that has worked on this game, including the actors/actresses, developers, animators, writers, directors, sound designers, and everyone else. You all created something beautiful from start to finish, which will stay with me and many other people for the rest of our lives. I look forward to the day that people will stop bandwagon hating this game and blindly making assumptions based on what they've heard, rather than the complete and true experience. Expand

The environment with the story serves you well.

The story takes you into a complex journey and emotional ride which will make you ask moral question whether something is good and bad. The story goes back and forth, showing you the unseen relationship between ellie and joel and the relationship between abby and her father; putting you on both perspective. The perspective of abby makes you see through her pain and why she took that revengeful path. This story gives you answer you didn't receive in the first one. Like did Ellie believe in Joel, did Joel regret doing what he did and so much more.

    The ending of this game does not serve as an ending, nor does it feel like it, it feels like a continuation of more stories that should be told. For me, this game is a masterpiece that could have deliver the story differently to please a wider audience, instead takes a more gruesome and realistic approach that leaves both a satisfying gaming experience and also a sweet and sour taste that will last for years to come;
I rate this a 10, because of the overall experience , together with its masterful graphics and memorable moments.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Reading through the user reviews here makes me more depressed than the grim, post apocalyptic world of TLoU series. Seriously, you guys made it seem like the story is SO disgustingly bad written, that I almost haven’t bought the game. I’m glad I gave it a shot after all. Now, we all know the game is visually stunning, the acting is incredible and the gameplay, while loved by some folks, has never been in the spotlight. So I’m just gonna focus on the story, cause this part’s been getting so much sh*t and I don’t think it deserves it. Part II is a commentary on what Joel did in the first game. Joel decided to sacrifice humanity’s future in exchange for his own comfort and paternal instincts. His relationship with Ellie was absolutely unique, which made me go “HELL YES, LET’S SAVE HER” when I played the original TLoU, but let’s face it - morally it was very questionable. Part II takes Joel’s actions and shows consequences in a way that made me devastated, but deep down I felt Joel got what he deserved. I think killing Joel off within the first hours was brutal, but fully justifiable.
The one thing that was bugging me throughout the game was Ellie - why is she so blinded with revenge, why is she willing to sacrifice literally everything she has just to avenge Joel. As the game moves forward, we find out about her complicated relations with Joel once she realized what he did in Salt Lake City. I felt for Joel for the way Ellie rejected him every time they were on screen in Part II. I think Ellie’s guilt for the way she treated him was the main driver of the events in Seattle. Again, story is intense, but fully justifiable.
Then there’s Abby. This is where most critique hits hard, and I understand why, yet disagree. The game forces you to play as the character that you utterly hate. Yes, at first it was a little off (kinda annoying with having to rebuild all gameplay skills all over), but shortly Abby turned out to be a truly compelling character that I really cared for. It made me consider that mindless killing from another perspective - not just the perspective of “the bad guys” because Abby’s journey goes beyond group divisions. By the time Ellie got to her on that beach I was thinking to myself “NOO, JUST FORGIVE HER, GO BACK TO THE FARM TOGETHER”. That’s how Abby and Lev grew on me. All in all I think that this “loads of plot holes” and “unlikeable characters” nonsense is just fanboys getting angry, because they didn’t want their original character to be brought to justice, and couldn’t stand a more granular approach to story telling.
Another thing people disliked was the fact, that most of the story took place in one city. Personally, I think the game really benefited from it, you could really get the grim vibe of the city, feel the topography of post-apo Seattle and soak into the bigger-than-life conflict between two massive groups. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved the journey in TLoU, but would I like to see it again in Part II? Probably not.
My main problem with the game was pacing - at times I felt overwhelmed with the amount of action, horror and tragedy, it’s like the game wouldn’t stop jump-scaring me. For instance, just before meeting scars for the first time, Ellie gets stuck in a building filled with Stalkers and Clickers. This is a very tense, creepy and long sequence - a lot of zombies, no lights, few resources to pick up. Then she finally breaks out, falls into the river and lands in the sewers. “WOW, THAT WAS INTENSE” I thought, and started looking for new resources, just to be freaking jump-scared by a wall clicker 2 minutes later. And these moments were just too frequent, with not enough “giraffe moments”.
But all in all, I get what creators wanted to achieve - a much darker tone than the original game. And you made it, it’s just not something I’d like to go through again.
To sum up - I liked the story. I feel like it’s compelling and a lot of criticism is just anger coming from people who expected Joel to live happily ever after, or those who couldn’t stand Ellie becoming sort of the villain.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Is this Telltale Games The Last of Us? I mean seriously, it's like gaming devices live in their company centric bubble when creating games. Killing off your main character, the character people connect with and love is a mistake. Sorry for the Telltale walking dead spoiler, but killing Lee to play as cutsie Clementine was a mistake and killing Joel so Ellie takes stage is one too. It's not a anti feminist thing to keep your main character a man when there are women in the game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the best pieces of media I've ever consumed/been part of. Never felt so many emotions conflicting with my thoughts. What ND has tried here is much beyond appreciation. Hats off. It was an experience I will never forget, Ellie's emotions mirrored with mine throughout, yet even after trying to hate Abby, I did end up understanding her motivations. The last sequence, felt so real and raw that it broke me down. Many complain that Joel's character has been disrespected and not seen through to justice. In my opinion it was poetic justice, a bittersweet end to the tale of Joel and Ellie. All the justice in a mere one sequence.
The game was never about Joel being the hero. It was about how in this world filled with loss and tragedy and hostility people do what's best for them or their allies, as there's no black or white in a situation and the majority of crux lies in the gray areas of morality which the characters justify by their actions. One such actions was taken by Joel in TLOU and he received it's price in this sequel. For me, he never really cared of what the world thinks of him, it was all about Ellie for him and the fact that she was ready to try to forgive was all he needed to find peace.
As for Ellie, I will say that there was some lack in her character arc, at times feeling a bit lost. but then again I feel Ellie was our channel of emotions throughout and ND succeeded in that. Great use of flashbacks to show a mirror of what was to what is.
Agreeably the story had some if not a lot of pacing issues, but that doesn't take away from the emotional rollercoaster throughout. It's almost disrespectful that a game that was such a technical marvel with stunning graphics, visuals, sound design and gameplay to go unnoticed, but that's the power punch the story carries. For that I'll say this if this is best of PS4 I am pumped for what the next generation has in store.

I know there's a huge amount of backlash across the social media, but it's unjustified and people being people. In the end it is just a piece of media and art. If you don't relate or like it be respectful in disagreeing. angry rants don't justify anything. It's NDs story to tell like it or not deal with it.

Props to the Voice Actors and shout out to everyone at ND for creating this masterpiece. Definitely a complete experience and a justified continuation and end of TLOU's story arc.

It's cobbled together like it was done by three different people and they never got to meet each other until the printing of the disc. It subverts expectation for the sake of it and the new main characters are weak as a B teir sci fi films background characters and while their at it have some of the worst and out of place dialouge in gaming as if written by an angsty teen girl for a school essay. It doesn't stop there, the pacing is destroyed by the games otherwise amazing design (in levels and comat areas) and to offset this they add character switching yet this makes it worse because when your switching from character to character to flash back to "main" game and that main game switches from open areas to long linear areas to a mix of both and back and forth you loose all investment and your time spent feels like it's getting the middle finger. Horrible choices in the way it's all constructed, just horrid. I could go on with how bad the this story is and how badly it foes a diservice to the girst game and the fans but it's been said about twenty five thousand times in these reviews in twenty five thousand different ways all with a red number but I'll say one morr thing, this game has thee worst pacing in both story and progreasion I think I've ever experienced in a game, that mid game progression break is just bonkers.

It's not all bad though, this game is near second to none in graphics on console or PC (barring RTX mods), a few stand up to it like RDR2 but that had a budget and dev team larger than God could provide. Ps4 Pro resolution is good only marred by a film grain effect that can be a bit jarring and HDR is well implemented. The Pro doesn't get too loud either, albiet a few moments in intense action does so.

Animations are by far unmatched even compared to RDR2 and it keeps it's game speed here without being sluggish or actions taking a day and on that note the actions are amazing, the fluid combat and human enemy encounters are some of the best in gaming, I can't get over how good they and how boring old third person stealth games have actually become fun games comat wise and not only that but brilliant. There is some frame pacing issues and the FPS is pretty weak even for 30, Ai on my TV settings smoothed it out but the frame pacing continued.

Gameplay moment to moment is pretty good (bar that awful pacing) but when you are looting and shooting and climbing and jumping it's a fun loop but again... pacing...horrid. Weapons and tools are fun and exploration is highly rewarding leading back into this which in turn makes the combat more fun, a masterwork in this regard but... pacing. The combat does vary from encounter to encounter and some are very bad while the human Ai does start to show it'a not all that great after a few encounters in.

Sound is incredible and it's got that amazing 3D audio design that needs to be in more games, a headset is highly recommended. Voice acting ranges from oscar worthy to B film to phoned in depending on the character or if it's a cutscene or character banter.

    7/10 over all.

5 for the story. 8 for the game if you ignore the story. I really wanna give it a 6 or 3 out of 5 stars but there is something about the quality here that helps it edge to a 7 yet I gave up caring about the story and tried my best to not question it after the half way point.

The sequel, however, improves on almost every single aspect of the original game. It may be an evolution and not a revolution but everything is polished to perfection in a way that boggles the mind. The sequel made me care about the characters and the world in a new way. And it improves upon the stealth and combat so that it now is really fun to play, whereas I was really struggling to enjoy myself with the first game. The incredible sense of freedom in the stealth and combat scenarios allows for endless fun and variety. The visual presentation is stunning and the world is rich in life and detail. The ruined Seattle is an absolute joy to explore. The calm and beauteous moments complement the dark moments. The audio soundscape is perfect for ambiance and emotion. The story is epic and sprawling yet also focused and tight and perfect. I played the game on the highest difficulty "Survivor" (not recommended for the first playthrough, the game warns!) and that heightened the tension in a way that only made the game better for me. The fear of constant death and the brutality of those deaths, combined with the ability to nearly instantly restart an encounter, made for a unique experience. In short, the game pushes the boundaries of interactive media by marrying one of the best narratives ever told with one of the best gameplay systems. An incredible game. 10/10 Expand

You are forced to play characters you don't like so you can do actions you do not want to arrive at the end where you just couldn't care less what has happened in the pointless side quest which has already lasted over 9 hours.

Character decisions usually make no sense for the character in question and usually even go against common sense.

    I wouldn't recommend it.

My personal assessment is 10/10 and I recommend that everyone start the game from start to finish, not paying attention to such trifles as lesbian relationships, which by the way is not news. Yes, the game is tough, but it is filled with non-trivial decisions by scriptwriters. Yes, perhaps many were waiting for a different story, including me. But this story will amaze you in the very heart, will not leave you indifferent and make you think. The combination of violence, cruelty and wonderful emotionally touching moments is really brilliant. Ellie has matured and the game has matured with her, no wonder. Elegant graphics, atmosphere, elaboration of locations, directing, good old gameplay ... all this really adds up to one of the highest quality games of the generation. What are all the little things for the development of which we so loved the first part or Uncharted series. The plot - many call it a weak spot, but in fact it is very strong and multifaceted, it just needs to be understood and felt. And frankly, such a plot gave me a lot more emotions than if it were trivial and kind. Emotions are just what it's worth playing games for. Expand

The plot: i think keeping and open mind and remembering that this is a game about a civilisation crumbling and trying to survive, not only the Ellie and Joel show will make the experience much more enjoyable. We loved number 1 and certainly loved number 2, sure the storyline gets a little back and forth sometimes.... buuuut, this is not a game just about killing zombies, is about values and feelings... and they done it brilliantly. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's funny that Metacritic is trying to give this disaster such a high score. I'll admit that graphically and on a technical level, it's gorgeous -- the environments, lighting, models, textures, animations, all stunning and technological advances. However... in the end, those are not what make people fans, what make them love your game and talk about it for years to come with nostalgia. That is not why people loved the first game.

In fact, it's precisely because the first game was *so good* at making you emotionally feel for Joel & Ellie that his sudden, quick and unexplained death early on in TLoU 2 is distasteful to so many. I'm not opposed to emotionally gutwrenching games that make you feel, and this one indeed makes you feel... but not in the good way that you're glad you paid for it.

From the first game, we saw Joel as a flawed father figure doing anything to save Ellie -- it was deeply touching. Then, he's brutally executed in a stupid way by a character we know nothing of and care nothing for, after having saved her life. He did not get a fitting end. But in the same way that Abby is driven to revenge for her father, so does the player feel compelled to avenge Joel -- this is why so many people dislike Abby. We were bonded with those characters from before. And yet the sequel's writers spend the entire time being preachy and moralizing that nobody wins and revenge is bad -- to the point where Ellie never actually gets any finality or closure, she loses everything -- Dina, JJ, Joel and Jesse, her guitar-playing fingers, everything... and is seen walking aimlessly off in the field.

You will get no satisfaction or closure. You will be left wanting, with disappointment and sadness. Ellie doesn't even hug Joel in the final flashback, the last time she saw him, because Ashley Johnson (Ellie voice) didn't want there to be a hug. You won't even be given a sliver of happiness in a memory with him, you just have to be satisfied that Ellie said she'll "try" to forgive him. After hours of slogging through the game as Abby and dealing with her experiences and WLF characters we don't really care much about, all because the writers want to try to make you see that revenge is cyclical and everybody makes the same mistake... that is all you will walk away with.

A whole lot of nothing, and disappointment at what a game this gorgeous could have been. They had years to work on this, on the heels of such a beloved and successful first game -- and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I absolutely loved this game. I was so upset when Joel was killed, but after what he did in the first game, it’s believable that was his demise. The story was so good, Ellie was losing herself after losing Joel, and her rage was so real. And Abby- at first I hated her. But it did a really great job at making you feel for her, and why she was so determined to get to Joel. I ended up loving her by the end of the game. Plus, that boss fight in the hospital scared the crap out of me! I loved it! There’s just so much amazing stuff about this game. Like the way you upgraded your weapons, the graphics (phenomenal) and the story- 10/10 for me. The only complaint about the game I have was the ending, it just kinda fell a little flat. But it did a great job at showing what this need for revenge costed Ellie. I already played through it twice, I loved it! Expand

execution left a lot to be desired, flashback scenes could've been better being actual playable non flashback scenes, i.e the flashback of the dance at seth's bar could've been at the start to make me feel for the new characters i would be spending a lot of time with.

really dissapointed, the last of us part 1 is my favourite game ever, with my favourite characters in any video game, i find myself daydreaming about joel and ellie and how they would react in certain scenarios or how they would be in the normal world, i'm really that invested.

this isnt a terrible 'SJW mess by Neil **** it had good intentions, just really unsatisfying execution. Neil did drop the ball with the writing this time around though.

I was waiting for this game since the last one ended I thought that if the first game was this great the sequel would be better, but I was disappointed with this game so much that I don't think they can fix the series anymore, first of all the way they tricked us into thinking that jole would be a huge part of the game and then they just kill him in the first hour or two and not just that the way they killed him is so bad and humiliating , jole would never drop his guard like that in the first game jole was smart he knew how to survive and that is why he was the best character in the game.

And then the story is so unique and gripping and just incredibly written and performed. It’s also hugely relevant in our divided times. The story makes players walk in the shoes of the enemy and see the story from multiple perspectives building empathy. It’s a tough sell in a world where everybody’s entrenched in their factions - whether they think PC culture or voting for Trump is the end of civilisation, nobody seems able to consider that the person who believes something that you don’t agree with might hold those views with the best of intentions. I’ve seen anti-woke dunderheads and hardline progressive loons both go after this game hard for different reasons, when it’s offering a lesson that they both could do with listening to.

It’s a little unwieldy in places and maybe doesn’t nail absolutely everything due to its staggering ambition. But I’ve never experienced a story quite like it, one that is truly heightened by the interactivity. The game is a straight up masterpiece.

And in a way it’s probably better that many people don’t agree. Many people choose to eat McDonalds. But they shouldn’t resent people for wanting something a bit more sophisticated.

A poorly made attempt to create a scenario for a new game. Mediocre, predictable and terribly disappointing for a studio like this. This is not a story that makes players angry. It makes players disappointed and frustrated.

If that was the best Naughty Dog could offer - they should have created a completely new story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First I like to talk about its gameplay, The gameplay of this game is extremely good, it is aesthetically pleasing to eyes the sound quality is great and the visual looks good, the stealth mechanic and all the other aspect of this game regards to gameplay mechanics is simple one of the best.
but when it comes to story this game is nothing but a blunder and because of this I am rating this game a 0/10 because a game like last of us in which it feels and looks like a tv series or a movie, Story is all that matters and if the story sucks then the whole game is just trash.
now where should I begin there are so many flaws i like to talk about but I want to keep this review as short as possible
First I'd like to talk about Joey, the main character of Last of us part 1 In which he was portrayed one of the intelligent character but in last of us 2 What The Hell happened it became a duffer of some kind and a character as great as his dies just like that? thats not acceptable. now coming to the revenge part of this game, After joey death Ellie wants to take revenge on every single person who was responsible for Joey death, so what she does? she goes on a hunt kills everyone who was witness to joey death and were responsible, she even kills a pregnant lady but when it comes to abby the main culprit behind Joey death she chooses to forgive and let go because revenge is bad?
I mean what? did I miss something? all that buildup only to push a cliche narrative(revenge is bad) that does not even make sense in this scenario since she has already killed a ton of people even a pregnant lady at this point. this is Dog******* story design.
Now I'd like to address the politics this game has how it looks like just a SJW propaganda, when you add too much content based on gender identity and sexuality in a game thats when you ****** up because games and comics are a way to escape from real word problems and to relax, so when you start adding gender politics in games and comics thats when you will face extreme backlash because nobody gonna like these things in comics and games especially when it is against their narrative and you start shoving it down to their throats. It was a post apocalyptic world, there was no need to add such things you could cut these things and the story would have been better and maybe just maybe you wouldn't receive a backlash and a permanent stain to your franchise. I don't know why you felt the need to add these in the first place? was it to please the LGBT community or to piss off the gaming community and laugh at their faces?
If it was to please LGBT community then it sad to say you've done a pretty bad job because this game is getting a backlash even from people who identify as gay or lesbian.
and if it was to piss off the gaming community then i'd say you've done a fantastic job because you sure as hell pissed us gamer and it never ends well I mean just look at the score we gamers have given.

    Publicidad engañosa al 100%

    Se burlan del jugador

Le pongo 2 porque el juego como juego es bueno para matar zombies Pero se hubiera llamado mata zombies 3000

Pero se cargaron en la historia y en los personajes

Beautiful game! Surely one of the most impactful video game experiences I've had.
The story hits deep, and even though it caused me the most pain I've felt in a while, I enjoyed it more than I can describe.
Thank you Naughty Dog, for delivering this beautiful, heart wretching game. It will stay with me for a long while.

I can see where a lot of people might hate on this game but IMO, it’s an incredible story. So much pain and emotion in this story. Absolutely incredible

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is something that nobody has ever created yet. That was the first game that gave me so many emotions, both positive and negative. In a case of the gameplay, music, visuals, level design, or environment it's a certain 10/10 from me. However, things are turning complicated in the story aspect. They went beyond the template while writing this game. ND wanted to show how cruel the world in which our protagonists had to live is. In this world, there are no good or bad people, they're just people who try to survive at all costs. Another thing is the ending which in my opinion makes sense because they wanted to show that revenge is a fool's game, and you can lose everything that you have during the way of getting it. This game isn't satisfying but it wasn't supposed to be. The only thing that is bad about this game is the careless storytelling. They've tried to show this story from two different sides, but as a result, they wasted about 10 hours of gameplay. Pointless chapters that were supposed to change our point of view but in fact, they have turned the protagonist into an antagonist and conversely. Neil just simply shouldn't have done that. If the story was supposed to be about Ellie and Joel, then why would you add character such as Abby and turn her into the main character. But the fact is if the game isn't fan service, (as we used to know in many video games) it doesn't mean that the game is bad. People are usually afraid of the unknown and sometimes the unknown isn't as happy as we expected. Some people said that people are not ready for this game. Now I totally understand what they meant. My final rate is 8/10 because I think this game is one of the most important games of the generation and you should play it on your own no matter what you've heard. Expand

Don't listen to the haters, they're shallow minded.
Just because you didn't want it to start or end the way that you wanted it too and in my case I would describe as an open book. The gameplay and visuals are phenomenal and will go down as one of the best games ever made.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
