    I loved "The Last of Us" I loved "The Last of Us Part 2" even more. I can understand why people are disappointment, but I disagree with the majority that are on the bandwagon that claims that the story is bad. I think the story is deep, and complex, and the fact that it puts you in the eyes of another side of the story. The fact that it forces you to question whether you are the hero,I loved "The Last of Us" I loved "The Last of Us Part 2" even more. I can understand why people are disappointment, but I disagree with the majority that are on the bandwagon that claims that the story is bad. I think the story is deep, and complex, and the fact that it puts you in the eyes of another side of the story. The fact that it forces you to question whether you are the hero, and questions it raises with morality are very interesting. I remember being in a movie theater when Avengers was the hottest thing, and the whole theater would erupt in cheers - TLOU II is the exact opposite of that, and I LOVED it! Absolute masterpiece.

    I'm only sad about the fact that I may never get to experience a story so deep again because the masses have decided, that this is the wrong way to do a story, and I'm sure it will reverberate through the industry. I do wish developers will continue to push the boundaries of story telling the way this title did.. but oh well. I guess I'll just have to go back to playing generic stories again.

    I am disappointed with the last of us 2, an evolution of minor gameplay, we are messing up the story to integrate politics in the games, and we are told if we don't like it's that we are homophobic.
    the last of us 1 will remain a masterpiece but on the 2nd my disgust of the license, I never saw it again

    Disappointment of generation. Druckmann - mistake. He is ruiner franchise, horrible scenarist.
    Bruce Straley was real genius. Not Neil.

    I hate the story it self how it goes and the lack of focus on our beloved characters and how they broke Ellie and even abby at the end,
    I think story wise it could’ve easily been a lot better,
    But putting those aside ,overall package its really good game

We need to realize that we cannot accept every game to have a happy ending, naughty dog has made this masterpiece it's an exhausting, chilling and emotional journey, I initially really hated the idea of Abby killing Joel, but it's important to think from her perspective and if you ignore the false and bombed reviews, I'm sure that as you progress you are going to understand Abby's character and empathize with her story.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. first off let me start by saying the game play two audio the whole feel of the game was fantastic Ellie's story her first part fantastic what I didn't like and what kill the whole game and it felt more like a chore than anything was playing Abby's part and naughty dog trying to make us like a character that I literally just watched Joel die from as a revenge plot that character has been bowl of since the first one it's been developed the whole game from the first one you cannot do that it does not work like that what were they thinking I don't understand Adams park felt more like a chore than anything else and I'm not even going to speak on the fact that I don't know why she's at big there's no such thing as roids in a post-apocalyptic setting you need roids in like Male supplements to retain that muscle capacity as a woman not very realistic and not sense and in a lot of cringe in Abby's part as well I mean I don't mind that she is buff but the fact that naughty dog made us play her for 3 for 3 days basically made it more tedious I just wanted to get that done with so I can get back to Ellie's part and that's the only thing I wanted to do now I feel like I wasted money because I feel like I only played half the game even though I played the full game from start to finish final verdict I give it a 6 out of 10 game play phenomenal graphics phenomenal to feel the game the flow phenomenal but the whole point of a story is to be good graphics and gameplay don't make it up and a lot of people are screwing it really low I scored a little higher because I count half of that as Ali's part to be very very well done but the other half which is Abby's part very very weird to play and very poorly executed… Expand

    Valoren el juego de forma general no solo su historia que en cuestión de gustos y perspectivas cada quien siente diferente. El juego podemos decir que un 9/10 cerrado. Si llegas a tomarle cariño a todos los personaje y evaluar la historia desde cada punto de vista lograrás conseguir una satisfacción muy grande con el perdón final del juego

    I dont know how but this game is even worst than the original, but my brother bought it and i feel so disgusted by this game. The gameplay is exactly the same than the OG, nothing new, really boring and not fun. The graphics are awesome, for me the only good thing in the game. The main character of the last game is killed in a gruesome way, just like any other character in this freaking game, really unnecessary every character was killed even if they appeared 10 minutes ago with Abby just forgeting them 5 seconds later, except the one she was in love obviously. Then they told us that we wouldn't have to kill any animal but you are forced to kill a lot of dogs and one character just unnecessarily kill a horse in front of the player. A 5 months pregnant women just running around shouting guys, a girl lifting a really big ladder from the beginning of it, are some of many things in this game than make 0 sense. Ellie;s character lose so much in this game,specially at the end, Abby is the best one in my opinion. I never liked Joel in the first one but in this game get so much sh*t. I think people are criticizing this game for the wrong thing, this one is just trash… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is so disconnected from the first game. There's literally 0 consistency in character writing, plots. The whole game is just a different short stories patched together that didn't need to be told. This game was honestly a waste of everybody's time. Also the environment and level design is subpar compared to the first game.

Honestly, this is by far the most disappointing, depressing , Poorly written story I've ever played in a video game. The game had major pacing problems, everytime you reach a climatic moment, like the ending, its another 10 hour flashback. another flashback, after another flashback after another. They could have told the story better,, alot better. They ruin joels character and **** on him, he never speaks up or tells ellie why he did what he did. ellie doesn't kill abby in the end. Which is dumb, and abby goes all the way to the theater to kill ellie for killing her friends and then doesn't kill her.. it makes no **** sense.. abby never tells ellie why he did it, she just walks off. Nobody cares about abby! And all the focus is on abby. We came here for ellie and joel. Ellie has turned into a broken non likeable character. If your a big fan of the last of us, dont buy this. Neil should never write a story again, oh its also really boring… Expand

    You will hate the story due to some poor plot twits in the game that come more has a cheap shoot then an actual plot twist. The game play is basically the same but you can jump now hooray for innovation!
    Graphics look amazing jaw drooping but it all goes to waste since you the story is probably one of the worst ever in gaming, you though the mass effect 3 ending was bad? Oh boy you haven't seen nothing.    … Expand

    2) My total game time for TLOU 2 is 24 hours with good amount of exploration.
    3) Started the game    THE LAST OF US 2 ( DETAILED SPOILER FREE REVIEW ) : Before going into the review I would like to say a few points 1) This review is coming from a gamer who played The prequel 3 times and felt that it's the greatest fame of previous generation . The sequel had a strong emotional bond with me .
    2) My total game time for TLOU 2 is 24 hours with good amount of exploration.
    3) Started the game with lots of expectations and saw only one review and one gameplay video before starting the game . ( Never ventured into the spoilers **** )
    4) Played the game on a base PS4.
    5) The review will be broken into different aspects with a final score and a simple verdict.

    So let's go on 1) Graphics - I am not going to talk much about the graphics as almost everyone knows how the game looks . The playstation 4 has been pushed to it's limits to achieve the graphic outrage . However the attention to detail is little underwhelming and I personally found 6 visual bugs in the whole game which can be ignored and will definitely be patched. Rating - 9/10 2) Gameplay - The gameplay took on the foundations of the prequel with lots of tweaks. The AI is more responsive . The guns and their upgrades are more accurate however few upgrades are not worth your tools . There is more variety in the fire arms u carry . There are many skill trees and u can upgrade the path as ur favourite play style. But on the negative side sometimes the gameplay appears too similar to the prequel . Also the game is very challenging at the start but as u progress forward it becomes too easy and even ur upgrade paths and skill tree acquisition also becomes very easy . Rating - 8/10 Story - the part that's in most of the debates and discussion since and before the game release . The director definitely took many bold steps in the story . There are many set pieces which are difficult to digest, I personally found few story parts very very hard to digest and these are the things that has been garnering negative reviews . But the story is very well told and is a emotional roller coaster ride. I enjoyed every part of the story . It's raw , gritty and not a fairy tale that has been told . My heart raced , my skin got goosebumps , my eyes got tears and my mouth went dry on this story .
    Rating - 9.5/10 Music - I simply lost in the music of this game . I personally feel this category is the best part of the game Rating - 10/10 . Over-all Rating - Little more than 9 and a little less than 9.5

For anyone who has experienced the depth ofOnly a small, select number of games have ever accurately depicted (in brutal detail) how actual people would react when faced with such extreme circumstances, and that is both a blessing and a curse. Hatred is an ugly, bitter thing. Revenge (as a conditional concept founded upon hatred) is an even more painful and destructive state of mind. For anyone who has experienced the depth of loss that the main characters in TLOU2 go through, you know this all too well. Sometimes we allow emotions to consume us, at times even to define us, and ultimately that is the narrative standpoint that this game requires of you. And by require, I mean you quite literally (in the game world) have to commit gruesome acts of violence in the name of survival, while in the pursuit of vengeance. But ultimately this isn’t violence for the sake of entertainment, shock value, or even cheap thrills.

    The violence you commit, and the violence you are equally subjected to exist in this world because of the choices that have been made, and because of the mindsets and experiences that have been brought to the table.

    If you have ever lost yourself in a downward spiral of increasingly worse decisions while holding on to a singularly reasonable motivation, this game will feel simultaneously unpleasant and relatable. If you have not, it will likely feel like a bit of insanity to be muddled through as quickly as possible. Either way, it’s brutal, because it has to be.

    This isn’t causal story-telling. This isn’t Paperboy on SNES. This isn’t even Westworld-level drama. This is pain; this is anguish; this is dedication and resolve; this is an interactive experience that makes you feel more authentically and deeply than is sometimes comfortable. That is to say it’s accurate, engaging, and honest; what more could one want or expect from such a thing?

    (Post Script) And for those people who care more about the sexual preferences of some of the characters depicted in the game than the deeper narrative aspects, you’re focusing on the wrong damn thing...    … Expand

Es un juego muy cruel, que no teme quitarte soportes desde un inicio, te rompe el corazon y ves como esa ellie dulce que aparecia en el TLoU 1 va perdiendo la cabeza de a poco en sed de vengarse. No es un juego perfecto, pero si muy bien logrado en todos aspectos, mensaje, empatia con personajes, musica, graficos, etc. Le daria 9,5.

    Muchos se quejas por la muerte de Joel diciendo que no fue heroica o trajica, pero no saben que todas las muertes son sin previo aviso o antiheroicas. Jesse muere en una cinematica como cualquier otra y en la misma cinematica nos dan a entender que Tommy tambien. No hay muertes valientes aca, es todo realista.
    La historia esta muy bien guionizada y escrita, sentis lastima y enojo por lo que sucede. Y el final es simplemente desolador, saber que Ellie renuncio a una vida de paz con Dina para matar a Abby cuando la habia dejado vivir 2 veces. Se quedo sin la daga que le dio su madre (que era lo unico que tenia ademas de la carta), sin 2 dedos que no dejan tocar la guitarra como antes y la unica cosa que le quedaba de Joel, pierde una oportunidad con Dina y se cumplio su mayor temor: estar sola.
    No solo eso, Tommy tambien lo perdio todo, Maria lo dejó, no puede usar una pierna, quedo ciego de un ojo y en lo ultimo que lo vimos, mando a Ellie a matarla a Abby.
    Lo unico que le agregaria es que Abby se de cuenta de las consecuencias que le trajo buscar venganza contra Joel, perdio todos sus amigos, inicio una guerra entre Scars y WLF por su culpa, (ya que Tommy mato unos Scars, y ellos pensaron que eran WLF), se convirtio en Joel mandando a todo su grupo a la mierda con tal de proteger a Lev y ni siquiera hay un dialogo de arrepentimiento o culpa o dandose cuenta que hizo lo que hizo Joel. Pero supongo que veremos eso si es que sacan un DLC o TLoU 3.
    En mi caso no empatice completamente con Abby pero si la entendí, y hasta senti que Ellie tenia que morir. Y Naughty Dog hizo bien su trabajo si dudaste aunque sea de que estaba pasando realmente y quien esta siendo mas humano y coherente.    … Expand

    There's a thin line between hiding things on trailers to let the players experience the story without spoilers and creating false cutscenes for the trailers which is what happened here.

    Probably the best looking console game so far, incredible facial animations and motion capture with mostly good voice acting, the problem is that this things alone can't make a good game without a good story and even more so when we are talking about tlou sequel.


    Everything that was loved about the first game is destroyed here, the characters from the previous game just don't feel like themselves, there are many other plots that I can imagine in seconds that would be way more interesting than this revenge story, there are just so many questions that end without an answer.

    In terms of story, part II is an inferior game, gameplay is improved but becomes boring way before the game ends.

    Let's just say I feel betrayed, the game fails at making me feel empathy for the new characters and the ending "missed the notes" it desperately wanted to make me feel.

    Most fans should stick with the first one, the message there is powerful, here it's hollow just because.    … Expand

    People are upset about certain social narratives and agendas which are portrayed through this game. If you are upset about this, you are missing the real message behind this game. TLOU2 does a great job in showing how groups of people from different backgrounds can be angry for completely legitimate reasons and people you end up hating, you end up loving because once you hear their story, understand their values and see life from their perspective you understand why they made the decisions they did.

I found that the stealth gameplay was a lot more engaging as there is more to do, rather than just waiting and watching. The large variety of ways to engage people was also great, as I always felt there were interesting and varied ways to survive encounters. I played on the second hardest difficulty and really enjoyed it. I didn't use the listen mechanic at any point (as a personal challenged) and I didn't feel like I needed it. The sound design was so good that you could generally get a feel for where the enemies were and it increased the my enjoyment of each encounter - making things more tense. I also really enjoyed the story. The story isn't fan service - this game is clearly not about making people feel good. It is a thoughtful game that challenges you and your actions and this is something I enjoyed. Going into this game - I knew it would make me uncomfortable just like lots of top-tier art. To me, this is a strength of the game rather than a weakness. After loving the first game, I didn't feel like I needed another instalment. Even with that mindset, TLOU II surpassed my expectations in every way and left me extremely glad for having the experience. It makes you realize that everybody has their own reasons to do what they do, and there’s no heroes or villains, just people living their lives and trying to survive.     The gameplay is top notch. The dynamic action-stealth combat system allows you to approach combat encounters in nearly unlimited ways, with each weapon at your disposal filling it's own unique niche in your arsenal. The game doesn't rate or punish you for breaking stealth, and in fact encourages a sort of "in-and-out" approach which allows you to mix up your approach as you see fit, going loud with firearms, arrows, and bombs, or sticking to the shadows and silently eliminating the enemy with brutal efficiency.    … Expand

The main character gets killed and replaced by someone who no one asked for, who then attempts to kill the daughter figure of the main character. Both main protagonists are now forever tainted in the series. The best part of the game was literally a flashback. They could have made the whole game be just like the flashback and it would have been perfect.

Now the story.. well , it was emotional , I felt pain of 2 main characters. I can't figure out which one was the antagonist or both were protagonist. Joel's death hit me hard. The path of revenge well that was surely painfull . Abby's story did make me a little angry at times .. specially at the end at the theatre. But later on I guess seeing her at the true end .. I kind of understand why Ellie didn't do it. Their was many endings to be honest. The true end was a little unsettling but kinda saw it coming. The story without it is simple, linear and I it is quite standard. Of course it has good pace and amazing performances from all the cast, but it’s filed with a very old Hollywood cliche: “traumatized grumpy middle age man gets soft after is forced to deal with a teenage rebel”. The game world is vast in possibilites and Part II takes advantage of them, filling the not so linear story with a interesting background: the Seraphites reminds me of “The Handmaid’s Tale” world where religion is used as a pillar stone to manipulate and control people in a world of crisis. The WLF plot line demonstrates how a prominent society can be subdued to a twisted leader. But this informations of the world can only be enjoyed as long as you explore every corner of the game. And I was thrilled when the story took us to the Seraphite Island.

    Since I despised Joel’s decision to lie in the ending of the first game, his fate in Part II is not revolting to my eyes, and it reminded me of choice/consequence like Robb Stark and The Red Wedding. Where a choice based on a noble sentiment such as love, can cause damage to others as a whole.

    Ellie felt way more interesting as a character in Part I than Joel; and her shift in personality in Part II is believable after all the trauma and lies she suffered through all her life. Abby’s storyline is well constructed when dealing on the consequences after Joel’s murder and her motivations runs in opposite direction as Ellie’s, until of course the point she is forced to review it.

    In the end, when both Ellie and Abby decide not to kill each other (yes, Abby could easily attack Ellie from behind while she was crying) we understand the unbalanced weight of vengeance versus forgiveness, and the incredible loss faced by both of them while choosing to learn this balance it in the most brutal way.    … Expand

    It still hurts that Joel died, and how it die, but thats the last of us world, a world where no one dies in a heroic way, its dark, its mean, and I love playing in that world.

    If some day I would have the chance to meet Neil Druckman, I would thank him, not for giving me what I want, for giving me the best game I could ever play.

    Sometimes, I open the game just to play again the epilogue, to watch that emotional scene where joel and ellie have their last night conversation.

    And finally, the graphics and gameolay are awsome, but the music, Oh man the music is fantastic, the music in this game is perfect, it makes you feel every second on the game.    … Expand

    Graphics are amazing, the game is pretty smooth and for the most part, it’s really entertaining as well. It probably takes you around 20 hours to finish at a moderate difficulty setting, and probably adds 5 hours if you include the time-consuming search for resources and extensive looting. In my opinion, the game is maybe two or three hours too long, with some repetitive and unnecessary content, which unfortunately affects the overall storytelling and its pacing. In comparison, the first game was around 15 hours so, unlike this one, it didn’t get as repetitive by the end. With all things considered: Gameplay is a solid 9/10

    The story is decent, alas far from perfect, and certainly not as good as the story of the first game. Character development was superb in the first game, but less so in this one, despite brilliant acting and animation. Certain actions and decisions of characters in the game were illogical, some events were neither realistic nor convincing, and that is quite disappointing considering how well the first game did. Furthermore, the narrative just wasn’t as interesting this time around, although the game certainly had its memorable moments. In terms of both gameplay and storytelling, the first half of the game was considerably better than its second half, perhaps with the notable exception of the powerful last two hours of the game.

    However, at the end of my gameplay, I had already forgiven some of the earlier mistakes of the game, and I came to understand the characters and their motivations a bit better towards the end. The ending of the game was bittersweet, and somewhat disappointing when compared to the ending of the first game, but far from being as terrible or emotionally unfulfilling as many have claimed it to be. Truth be told, it provoked thought and emotion, just as art is supposed to do - and although we may not agree with the direction it went or how it was executed - we can at least agree that the ending provoked those exact things.     one of the most emotional games in the last half of the year, before that there was a game from Kojima and rdr2. The plot is interesting, the gameplay is super, and the graphics even on ps4 look amazingly beautiful.

Joel's death, the forced SJW morality being shoved and the convuluted ending. Storyline was messed up so bad. Abby brutally killed two people tou loved and you just her go when you had the chance to avenge them? Why did she even went on to berserk avenging when in the end, she will just forgive her??     This game has one of the most beautiful scenario that i ever see, bringing back all of the tension that i felt when i played the first game.
    Unfortunately, the story that seems promising at the beginning, get confuse at the middle and end up in a unsatisfactory way. Character development is really poor, didn't have the emotional connection that we had with Ellie and Joel.

FIRST PARAGRAPH HAS SPOILERS This game is the game of the year for sure, it has a great story even making the player sympathize with Joel’s killer and if you don’t, you surely sympathize with Lev and consequently you don’t want Abby to die. You end this game completely destroyed because you don’t know if you want Ellie to win or Abby to win and you feel what the characters are dealing with for example when you see Abby getting to the surgery room and seeing her dad dead, you feel bad for her, when Ellie is in Santa Barbara, you see that she is broken, you see that she doesn’t care about anything anymore and she even has things written on her book saying that she regrets going to Santa Barbara and wanted to turn back.

    The gameplay is better then the previous one, because the new features that were added (crouching and dodging) work perfectly and makes the gameplay look real and with very human movements, when you play it you actually say “that’s what I would do” Gameplay 10/10 The graphics, facial expressions and the ambience are the best ever made

It was a really well written story and it’s only not a 10/10 because of what I’m going to say on the next paragraph Story 9/10 Actually I would give this game a 9.7 because there are some minimal details that were unnecessary such as Mel being pregnant, I thought that was only to shock the player since her not being pregnant wouldn’t change nothing in the story and also the fact that they had to make Joel kinda stupid to

    Great story telling, the game play isn't yo be desired, but the other games gameplay wasn't great either. I'm here for the story and that was solid . I enjoyed a bit of the exploration mechanic that they added but it was ver small and not note worthy enough like the story and characters.

    The best story I have ever been told, and I'm so glad it was done through the medium of video games. I felt every emotional change that the game wanted me to feel. Remove your expectations of where this story should go. It's not your story, trust that Naughty Dog knows what it's doing.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Me parece totalmente estúpido que la comunidad desprecie de esta forma el trabajo que tiene este juego sólo por algunas malas decisiones. La verdad yo coincido cuando dicen que es demasiado inclusivo, la muerte de Joel me pareció algo rara, pero desde luego nunca pondría una nota tan baja. Creo que algunos no supieron ponerse en los pies de Abby, y lo entiendo, si es que incluso antes de usarla repiten la brutal escena que desató el odio hacía ella, pero yo personalmente (que esperé el juego los 7 años que se tardó) disfruté mucho de este personaje. Y no sólo de ella, sino también de la inteligencia de los enemigos, la crudeza en cada combate, el increíble motor gráfico, las nuevas mecánicas que aporta el gameplay como las diferentes habilidades que tienen ambos personajes (por dar un ejemplo), entre otros detalles. Gracias a todas las cosas en las que el juego se lució como ningún otro, puedo llegar a decir que ninguna experiencia Iguala a vivir esta historia de principio a fin.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
