    The worse part there nothing good quality with exception of tech part of game and actors play, but even this cant save this product.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The gameplay was a big step up from part 1, much the same in a lot of ways but more fleshed out in terms of mechanics. The world design is also a step up, it really feels like a living environment. The graphics (as you'd expect) are also fantastic, probably one of the best looking games this console generation will see.
    But the story...I so wanted to like it but after finishing it, I just don't feel happy or satisfied at all. I understand the shock and awe approach to Joel's death and what they wanted that to do but it just feels wrong. Troy Baker's portrayal of him is sublime and he needed way more screen time. I was going okay up to the end of Ellie's section and then to find out that the next half (literally half the game) was to be played as Abby, this new character who I couldn't have been less interested in, was such a put off.
    Again I got that they wanted to show a different perspective of the entire story and blur the lines of morality but it just didn't work in my opinion.
    I also felt the roster of side characters wasn't as strong. The likes of Bill and Trish, Sam and Henry, were all what made the first game so special when combined with Joel and Ellie. But with this game it was all missing.
    I so wanted to love this game but I just don't, I really feel that they missed the mark with what mattered most in a sequel to part 1.
    I don't think there's any chance of a part 3 from here and I don't think I'd want it now anyway    … Expand

    Simply the best game in history 10 on 10 for everything (game play, graphic, soundtrack, animation, environments and story) and specially for story every game has own story and you have to accept this fact.

    Gamedesign incredible, atmosphere astonishing, emotionally sometimes hard to handle. Some may dislike certain story decisions but for me this is a game you must have played, because its unique in so many ways.

    Played original game and sequel back to back. It was an emotional rollercoaster jumbled with outstanding game play like nothing I experienced ever before.

    Story in the sequel cuts deep emotioanlly and though I LOVED the experience, the story itself was so dark and affective It really beat me up emotionaly. I hardly can say this about any game I played before.

    Magnificent sequel!

Some of the music is alright. But the plot and characters are such utter **** that it ruins the entire thing. Also, playing as Abby was awful. I don't care about this chick at all.     When I first finished the game I didn’t like it very much, I probably would have given it a 7 or an 8. But after a lot of thought and reading other takes I have really come to love this game. I get why some hate it, but naughty dog did not make a game to pander to it’s fans, it made one that would hurt them and challenge them in the best possible way. If you played it once and didn’t likeWhen I first finished the game I didn’t like it very much, I probably would have given it a 7 or an 8.     After playing this game, I enjoyed every single part of it along with it's story being told. I highly recommend this to everyone. The gameplay is phenomenal, the story is impacting, and overall another masterpiece in I really felt was coming. This game taught me something people should've paid closer attention to. The beginning and the end of thid game's dark and gritty sotry made perfect sense. I applaud the developers for their hard work on everything. I applaud the actors for their performances. I applaud this franchise. And I applaud this year for bringing me The Last Of Us Part II.

Like Joel said if he can go back to that day, he make everything again. And I think, anyone who love somebody like he loved her, do the same. Like Abby tried to revenge her father too. But, the biggest (for me) error is they make us play too much as Abby and make us almost kill Ellie.
    For me, this game was a 3rd game. For 2nd game, maybe a Ellie's journey to find out about herself, the fireflies, be angry with Joel, forgive him and more with Joel. Give us some background about her, about Dina. Show us how that small camp grows that big. Something without killing all main characters.
    They make us love a man, a hero and just killed on the beginning in a non human way and worse, making Ellie see all that. Seeing a '' father '' be killed on that way, is brutal. But I have to say something good. 10/10 about graphics, gameplay, music, voice and movement acting, and much more. You can see those actors give life to their characters with love and passion. Ashley Johnson is brilliant and no one can say otherwise with reason. Seeing her passion for Ellie is everything. About Troy... Idk what he felt when he knew about killing Joel so early... But I bet he felt bad.
    I loved that museum part, her birthday was perfect. You can see the shine in her eyes, and Joel was soo happy to see all that. I rated 2/10 about the bad feeling I have in all the game. Anger, sadness, disgust, chills and too much violence, blood and human/animals deaths. The Last of Us isn't about zombie survival anymore. If I wanted to kill humans, I get COD or something... False advertising, naughty dog's version COD in a good graphics = Tlou2

    Joel’s death was a strong scene in the game, and it was supposed to be a tad bit different. Druckmann spoke of this while discussing the scenes that they altered or scrapped from the game.
    “In the first edit of that scene, you felt nothing. Ellie’s being held down and Joel’s looking at her and we had this idea of like, “Oh man Joel’s brain is so f***ed up at that moment that the only word that’s coming out of his mouth is his daughter’s name, ‘Sarah.’” It felt powerful, but then Troy [Baker] — to his credit — was like, “I don’t think he should say anything.”    … Expand

    I loved The Last Of Us. It is one of the most moving and enjoyable games I've ever played and is something I can see myself returning to play through again. That game was lightning in a bottle which gave us all the right stuff in one magnificently wrapped package. Unfortunately the much anticipated sequel The Last Of Us 2 falls far short in every department, excluding visuals and violence of course.

    The Last Of Us 2 is beautiful to look at no doubt about it with many improvements to environments both flora and fauna, but the story is very poorly written with many ideas shoehorned into it to satisfy Naughty Dog's baizuo of a game director. I didn't feel the sense of fear I did when encountering Clickers in the first game and they felt very throwaway and definitely took a backseat to both Ellie the protagonist, and Abby the games over-the-top villain. Constant modern-era ideals are thrown in your face with a very snarky air to them at all the wrong times which makes the game feel more like a lecture being given to you at gunpoint than an actual fun and engaging video game experience.

    The game romanticizes the idea of vengeance and makes no attempt to curb the idea that seeking revenge isn't the right thing to do. Most revenge plots in media have some sort of justfication as to why it takes place but aside from lazily handwaving plot crumbs at the player justification is completely absent. People who are regularly angry or spiteful towards people will enjoy this game as they can vent their anger out on people in very tastelessly violent ways albeit very impressive looking ones. The game makes it a point to glorify slaughtering people with different ideals and promptly nudges the player into sympathizing with the now hate-filled and hastily written Ellie. I would say they ruined a great character by making Ellie just another merciless killer out for revenge with low IQ plot points and new character traits the bottom (and loud) 25% who will demonstrate their bias and wrongfully rate this game either a solid 10 or 1, which is definitely isn't. This game isn't a good sequel to the Last Of Us and most people who fell in love with that game will want to pass on this one. Watch a streamer play it instead.

    All-in-all, The Last Of Us 2 is the sequel we got instead of the one we were showed in promotional media. The game looks fantastic, but the horrible story, lazy character writing and tasteless force-feeding of "The Correct Political Opinion" makes The Last Of Us 2 a beautiful but harmful smut video game.

    Rent it for a weekend if you must. If you are an avid dog lover you might hate this game.    … Expand

Stealth, and skirmish tactics and ruthless AI (on Hard or above) is so much fun, thrilling infected encounters in claustrophobic spaces are also very memorable. The graphics/visuals are mind-blowing good. The story however is very very very bad, generic revenge plot, andGame-play and how it uses the sublimely realized ultra detailed and diverse environments to mix it up is incredible. It is a challenging and brutal tale that sometimes leads you in directions you don't want to go. But the benefits of walking in another person's shoes are tangible. Verging on a masterpiece, I'd rate it very good indeed.I thought I'd actually play and complete the game before posting a review. The gameplay is excellent (but linear). The story is probably the area that most divides people. It is a challenging and brutal tale that sometimes leads you in directions you don't want to go.     A unique, engaging story for a mature audience. An atmospheric world, refined film dialogues. animations at a very high level. amazing sound and ambient. pleasant control. Refined in every way. the only drawback that comes to mind is the strange steering of the boat and the slightly out-of-the-box episode on the island of Scars.

    With rdr2 best game of this generation. Mature, brutal and consistent story, jawdropping graphics and animation. It's not ideal but no game is (pace sometimes could be better, some characters motives are debatable) but still it's far above typical aaa game. Masterpiece.

    Normally i would score this game a 8, but because of al the 0's given, i give it a 10. The game isn't perfect, the story isn't perfect, but the gameplay en the emotions that come with it are impressive. Some people are dissapointed and i get it, but the **** this game is getting is ridiculous.

The parts where you play as Abby are just painful, you don’t feel anything for her even though the game tires to tell you she’s just misunderstood, but honestly I don’t care she sucks and it pisses me off that it’s Ellie’s stupid careless mistakes that cause her to track you down, and what is up with Ellie ? She’s not the lovable funny amusing girl from the first game .... It feels like she’s gone through a trauma but the game never explains What that is .... the game play is the only thing that saves this game but it’s a little Repetitive with long segments of basically, Kill all the Infected or human enemies, None of that trying to sneak past clickers from the first game, In fact the game is much easier than the first game, The story is a complete let down but the gameplay save the game from being terrible but sadly it’s just an average game, Which given its predecessor it’s a real shame and disappointment… Expand

    The only good point in this game is its graphics. Really it is superb. However the story-line and characters are awful. There is too much 'progressive agenda', lesbianism, drugs and more.     Im sure everyone had said everything what needs to be told about the story and the main characters themselves; thus I want to focus on something everyone tends to ignore: the gameplay. It has some minor improvements but the overall parts remained unchanged thus bringing nothing to the table of the gaming industry. Few people stated this game deserves less criticism because people who worked on the gameplay part of the game did an excellent job which somehow benefits the game whose primary goal is to tell a compelling engaging and entertaining story? The reason why TLOU is so beloved is because the story which is being told was a masterpiece, thus making the game as a whole stand out, and the gameplay only contributed to the story but didnt affect it! Thus claims that because of gameplay this game is better are merely ridiculous and laughable.
    I was shocked to see how people gave this game a 10 out of 10 scores without even acknowledging or straight-up ignoring the problems the game has some stating that "ignore the thousands of 1-star reviews here as they were posted by trolls". Well I would like to pose a question to people like this: Why pay 60$ for the game where the LGBTQ tendencies are seen as character traits, the story is poorly written and the gameplay is almost the same as the first one? I have bought the game and I can tell you that the gameplay, the story, the atmosphere, almost everything is worse compare to the first game. The primary problem with this game is that it thinks that more violence would mean a better atmosphere but when the game solely focuses on that ignoring and forgetting other aspects it doesnt do itself any good. If I had to summarize this game in one sentence I would restate what the former co-director of the first TLOU Bruce Straley had said: TLOU didnt need a sequel and probably wouldnt get one, and unfortunately I hoped it wouldve stayed this way because as the saying goes you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain and sadly that was the fate for TLOU 2.
    In the end I want to sum up the core reasons why this "game" had failed in terms of subverting expectations: First, the game which is primarily known for its great storytelling ultimately failed to do so for various reasons including for various plotholes lack of compelling characters removal of the primary characters making the secondary thus making them contribute even less to the main story etc. (cant give any specific examples because I dont want to spoil this game for those who decide to watch it on youtube). Second, the gameplay part had hardly moved from its predecessor including only a few new mechanics which contribute little to the gameplay part of this game. Third, the atmosphere of the game is extraordinarily unappealing and compare to the first game where the atmosphere was tough as nails this "game" doesnt reach even close to what the first game had achieved. Fourth, the characters are unappealing the character arcs (except for Ellie) are extremely poor and were primarily based on the "shock" aspect of the game: violence, which alone wasnt able to achieve anything other than disturb the viewers and grow hatred towards almost every main/side character in the game. Fifth, the inappropriately failed attempt to show how "woke" the game developers were made the game even more horrible (simply because there is no need for that yet in order to please the modern LGBT society they decided to do so. Yet they didnt only add and enforced this idea throughout their game; they had consciously replaced the themes and values the first game had set and engraved in the minds of the fans and now these game developers rightfully will face the consequences of their own actions). In the end when the game is "a story-driven single-player game you usually know youre gonna have one shot at making your mark" and thus when the story isnt bad but straight-up utter garbage I cant see why or how anyone would want to buy and play through the entire game even when the gameplay is "OK" Yet if anyone liked this game I will be truly happy for them as after finishing this game on my own and then replaying the first game in the franchise I cant bring myself to call this game a canonical sequel, In the end, whats the point of a fancy present box, when inside of it youll find nothing but pile of ****    … Expand

A masterpiece arguably let down by it’s introduction of an unexpected protagonist Abby, heavy use of flashbacks which arguably spoil its pacing, and largely depressing revenge story of Ellie left struggling to cope with PTSD after witnessing the brutal execution of a beloved central character . Many of the gripes about playing the game with a new character however, become less felt once you complete the game. The new game plus further allowing you to relive the story with all your hard earned upgrades carrying over. You also have a new mode allowing you to replay combat scenarios and exploration if you don’t feel like replaying the story cutscenes and flashback sequences.

    Epic and memorable if tragic story. Great combat and exploration, great AI and intensely detailed environments. It’s a masterpiece of game but perhaps not terribly popular with fans of the first game.

Starting the game with a knife does suck out some of the tension in clicker confrontations, but the difficulty curve shoots upwards, so don’t get too comfortable. Don’t be afraid to adjust the difficulty throughout your journey (the difficulty settings are a great evolution more games should adopt), but latter difficulty settings enhance the immersion and tension. I can’t think of the last time I’ve had so much post-game discussion and debate with friends, maybe Metal Gear Solid 2? After my first run though, I confidently moved this into my top 3 video games of all time. I will die on this hill.… Expand

Such a prominent release being brave enough to embody inclusiveness is obviously a respectable thing. So my rating is back up to a 5. That said, there are legitimate reasons for which many of us are disappointed with this game. Certain narrative/design decisions, while I understand to what they are aimed (those who condescend to people for not 'getting it' are just as annoying as those who generalize the majority for aspects of the minority), ultimately feel like punishment for anticipating this game for so long. And yeah, giving away those decisions in marketing would spoil things, but selling people the game they wanted, while providing something very different, is...not good. So all I'm saying in terms of understanding that it's ok to not like this game, is don't lump everyone who is disappointed into the category of the pejorative: 'hater.' Most of the people who are disappointed in this game are disappointed for legitimate reasons.     The pacing and structure of the story is absolutely awful and disengaging: worst of all, I don't feel challenged - both as a gamer and as an audience for these kinds of things; this game hits every revenge-story trope in the most monotonous way possible. This shocked me greatly since "The Last of Us (Part 1)" does not have these issues at all - at least not significantly. It was saddening for me to be able to tell every beat from the beginning to the end after going into a blackout to avoid the leaks until this very day.

    The character development is entirely dependent on "The Last of Us (Part 1)" with the new characters being utterly disposable or being only useful as tools for the story to get on with the next beat. If you are a person who reads books and/or watches television shows and movies about this genre, this game has NOTHING to offer aside from spectacle - no doubt from the money and time and effort invested into this video game to brute force this story to work.

    It is also no doubt that the reviewers who blatantly threw high scores for this game have no experience in this genre at all and - thus - are not competent reviewers if they're trying to argue for the sake of this story's quality. Speaking of which, it is - at its very best - boring and unsatisfying with no shock value. Again, if you are familiar with the revenge-story trope of how it's corrupting and all, this is nothing new: even the ending of "The Last of Us Part 2" is an exact copy of some other stories and movies - totally lacking all sense of originality like a teenager in his or her hormonal years after watching an edgy dark movie.

    Since the video game claims itself to be story-centric, I give a 3 out of 10 for "The Last of Us Part 2".

    1 point for the fact that every single level in this game looks atmospherically beautiful while being accompanied by good level design.
    1 point for the fact of how the AI interacts with the environment so naturally for the gameplay to exist so smoothly and wonderfully, and - by that - players experience intriguing combat scenarios.
    1 point for the motion-capture actors' and actresses' performances along with the animators who gave their blood and sweat to every little detail.

    But that's it.
    For a game bragging itself to be story-centric, I cannot - in good will - give it any higher for its technical quality as it is - literally by the word - nihilistic in the end and with no value for the person experiencing.

    What is the point of experiencing a technical achievement if its core trick can be seen anywhere else and gives no reason to follow until its end?

    With that, I can only recommend "The Last of Us Part 2" to people who have barely scratched to experience art and revenge stories, and to people who would be interested in experiencing the remarkable polish.    … Expand

This game has totally destroyed The last of us. If you can stay away from this **** and play any better game. Naughty Dog has totally **** up.     The script was amazing and ballsy with killing joel early and tommy later, the voice acting was 2nd to none, the graphics were incredible (read an article about the insane details threy put in), it was more open world than the original, the mechanics and how you play i.e. the buttons were fantastic, I don't get it, maybe because the flashbacks were all over the place

    This game introduced 3 new groups trying to strive, and all 3 are willing to go on the gruesome path to secure their survival. People don't die heroes in this world, people are seeking revenge for even the smallest things, people are trying to protect what they love the most. It's the most human representation of what would happen if an actual apocalypse took over. The focus here is not a cure, it's the relations and acts characters have to go through to secure their survival.
    The characters have some dumb decisions sometimes, but in the end, this game is trying to make you see the two sides of the coin: Ellie and Abby. You get to play as both of them, and it's awesome to see all perspectives. The plot keep moving at a slow pace, and there's a chapter who could be completely deleted because it felt dragged, but in the final showdown, it has a clear message. This game is about consequences. It's not epic, it's not pretty, it's not happy. It's tangible and human. Still, I did miss some strong supporting characters like in the first one. We don't get an Henry or a Bill here, and the new characters are likable at best. Not good, not bad either, I didn't just developed a strong connection with them, but they serve and move the story just fine. Hence my 9. Great experience, dont fall on the hate wagon, people are losing it because one narrative choice that had to happen sooner or later. This is a story about consequences, and it comes to all our beloved characters. People in this world don't get to escape their actions.    … Expand

But Naughty Dog chose to kill one of the most beloved game characters ever and then intentionally lie and mislead fans prior to release concerning said character. Of course I’m talking about Joel. My problem is not necessarily the fact they chose to kill Joel, but the manner in which it was done. First, as previously stated, they intentionally misled and lied to fans prior to release. Then they killed him way early in the game in a brutal and extremely violent manner. Then they had the gall to have a character spit on Joel after his death. Totally unnecessary and as if they were spitting on fans. Then as a player you are forced to play as Abby who killed Joel! Obviously as a player I now hate Abby and have no empathy at all toward her or her reasons for killing him. I seriously did not want to continue playing at that point and intentionally allowed Abby to be killed over and over. As incredible and great as The Last of Us was, this game was equally that bad. No character development, questionable storyline and too much agenda injected. I was a dedicated Naughty Dog fan prior to this but now I will never trust anything they say or release and I am not sure I will purchase any more of their games. I don’t enjoy being lied to and misled. I suspect I am not the only fan Naughty Dog has alienated. Too bad since this was so avoidable.… Expand

    As someone who values story over visuals and gameplay I was aphauled at the level of polish of the story vs the polish of everything else. The 2 points are only because I value the efforts of the devs and the detail they put into the game. The story is shocking for the sake of being shocking. Shame its not just a sequal, it's not the same characters so it's a solo game of pety revenge for me.

    Melhor história que já vi em um game, personagens cativantes e acontecimentos emocionantes. Já é meu jogo favorito, desbancando RDR2.

    Os reviews negativos por parte da comunidade homofóbica, ou de fãs tóxicos do Xbox, me deixam ainda mais feliz, por saber que essess otários não se deleitaram com esta obra prima.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
