    All that, and it's presented to you via one of the most visually stunning games ever created.    A bold, ambitious story with probably the most complex character development I've ever experienced in any medium. Best-in-class acting conveys a deep, twisted, carefully woven story in an extremely dark setting. It's sad, it's draining, it's frustrating, and it embeds itself in your heart.

    All that, and it's presented to you via one of the most visually stunning games ever created. Additionally, the game play is smooth and rarely gets in your way, and from what I understand it has the deepest variety of accessibility options to boot.

    Am I happy with the way the game ended? No, of course not. I wanted a happy ending for everyone. But sometimes people don't get what they deserve, and sometimes they don't deserve it in the first place.    … Expand

    This game has stunning graphics, an interesting story because it teaches us to be open minded and have a complicated drama. The gameplay is also very good with lots of new enemies and new infected. I hope The last of us part 2 becomes the game of the year 2020. Thank you naughty dog.

    A testament to the advancements of the game industry. There are some plot holes, sure, but the overall storytelling and character development are great. The ambience, animations and game play are second to none. Pacing is spot on.

    Nearly two months past but I still couldn't move out from the beautiful story, characters and graphics this fantastic game brings on me. It will be a revolutionary gem in game history for it is the first time we have literally have female protagonists dominate an AAA game. Thank you Neil, Hayley and Naughty Dog for the aesthetic joy I gained from TLOU2.

    It is hilarious to see those ridiculous haters lose their **** when watching a ground-breaking game leaded by a lesbian and a muscular female figure. Sorry to disappoint you, but we are getting sick to watch another mundane episode of a middle-aged man slashing a way out to triumph. It broke my heart to watch Joel died though. Bravo Naughty Dog!

But the gameplay, design, sound, lighting and the total look of the game was amazing! The story can sometimes be very dark and maybe take some turns that feel wrong and I don't agree with. But I still respect the story that they went for inOverall I think it’s a great game!     I had to make an account just to leave a review here because this game deserves more love than it's getting. This game is as close to perfect as any media I've ever played, watched, or any other way experienced. Gameplay is so smooth, HUD isn't annoying, graphics are constantly stunning, the story will make you feel all the things. This is pure art start to finish.     Amazing game. It kept me playing till the early hours on several occasions as I just couldn't put it down and the story really made me think and feel things. The bad reviews are unfounded. It's an epic emotional rollercoaster perfect for a post Game of thrones world.

    I really can’t understand any criticism on this game. The Last of Us part II got me speechless, involved, entertained, emotionally exhausted and left me with the feeling that the bar has been set for every other game to compete. This is a masterpiece state of the art in video-games.

Like just kidnapp him and a little bit torture him. In the end Abby would die or run away doesn't matter. Ellie saves Joel and that's it! Happy end! Okay,maybe Joel is still need to die. But why we didn't kill Abby. Abby was searching for Joel 5 years and finally did it. And Ellie just let her go. If Joel would survive game would take 15/10 but now bc of Neil its 5/10.… Expand

It's a choice that happens inside of you as an individual, choosing to look for the light, to grow, to be better than those who hurt you. You're never forced to like, or forgive the people who hurt you, you're simply put in a situation in which you can (if you want) choose to consider that there's no black and white, and to think twice before answering to violence with more violence. You're never forced to sympathize, but the game provokes you to empathise.

    Just think about how much better the world could be if we all did the same. And in a videogame that features a zombie apocalypse, but is ultimately about humanity (or what's left of it), I think that's a brilliant point.    … Expand

    game mechanics is the same of the last one and there are few new zombie. the frustration came on not having an option to an important event. i dont mind the Abby ithink that it fits the character it shows but at least give me an option to the events.

    Naughty Dog tried to please everyone, in the end they did not please most of the gamers!

    Very linear average gameplay, no choices, same as we know it from part one. But the story is such a mess and so badly written it really destroyed the gaming experience.

    Truly a beautiful and fun game. Not sure how so many people are giving this bad scores. This game will constantly have your heart racing. Incredible graphics and fluid movements make this one of the most realistic games I've ever played. The soundtrack is perfect. The only reason I am giving this a 8 and not a 10 is because I feel like the Santa Monica part ruined it for me. I wish Ellie would have just stayed with JJ and Dina and the story ended there. I am on my second play through, but I feel as though this game got to much hate for how Joel died. All and all I hope they make a 3rd one. I’m looking forward to finishing the story line.… Expand

    I don't feel that it is fair to compare this game to the first one. The Last of Us was it's own kind of story and had its own kind of story telling. I believe that is the same with The Last of Us Part 2 and I like it all the more for its unique style. The Gameplay is mostly the same but with some improvements that make it feel more natural and fluid.     For all the apparent controversy, you can tell a lot of people who are rating the game badly only saw the leaks and decided not to experience the game themselves. They have muddled plot points and made assumptions about what happens and why.     The game has amazing graphics, amazing cinematic and not bad gameplay, but has a terrible story telling , but we all know graphics are that important like good story so i give only 4 . Hopefully they delete this part and creat new part 2 because it's sucks .

    This game is flat out a masterpiece. It's is an incredible journey that doesn't follow the typical story arch. The gameplay is satisfying, the graphics are top notch for a PS4, and new game modes make this very re-playable. This is one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played.

    This is the first game I have ever tried to get a refund on as it is simply not what it says it is. This is not a continuation of the first story at all, but instead feels like a bad spin off set in the Last of Us universe. You spend barely any time with the characters from the first game (and EVERY trailer for the second) instead being forced to play as the    NOT AS ADVERTISED AT ALL!

    This is the first game I have ever tried to get a refund on as it is simply not what it says it is. This is not a continuation of the first story at all, but instead feels like a bad spin off set in the Last of Us universe. You spend barely any time with the characters from the first game (and EVERY trailer for the second) instead being forced to play as the antagonist in a veil attempt at empathy or sympathy or god knows what. However, not only is Abby unlikable after the first 90 seconds on screen, but the narrative only continues to pile on the unlikable traits the more you play. At one point I was just continually and consciously jumping from a cliff to death for the small slice of joy seeing Abby's skull hit the rocks below. The split narrative is redundant and just detracts from both stories resulting in the end product feeling like an amalgamation of two short, bad DLC spin offs, instead of the true sequel it's intended to be.

    Game-play wise, it's much of the same from the first game. Look around, scavenge, hide, shoot. I don't mind it tbh but it does get repetitive after 7/8 hours. The boss fights were really underwhelming not providing much difficulty nor variation other than taking more damage than normal. There were also a few forced moments that were dumb, for example: a certain group of WLF deserters that you are forced to kill, even when one gives up and begs for mercy as the game will not continue without pressing the prompt. The added mechanics of jumping and dodging are so refreshing (for this game, obviously not gaming in general). I was impressed with the character animations as well. The way they fidget and twitch was a particular highlight and really adds to the realism. The graphics are great too.

    The story is just a mess. I mean where to start? As a linear game play narrative I'm genuinely surprised how it could feel so inconsistent. The cast make plain nonsensical decisions that not only go against their own established character but some even defy common sense. The big end story revelation is completely deaf to it's own plot as Ellie has just murdered her way through dozens if not hundreds of randoms, and some innocents, only to suddenly feel remorse for the one person in the entire game it would have actually made sense to kill. Not only for the character, but for the underling theme of the entire franchise - that actions have consequences... but not for Abby it seems.    … Expand

The only point where the Naughty Dog made an ugly mistake was in Joel's death. You don't kill a character you love so quickly and so early in the game. Other than that, the game is rated 10. Maybe you guys wanted to make Joel’s death as painful as possible that you forgot it had to make sense. This is not Joel from The last of us 1, who spotted an ambush from miles away, this is a different Joel who gives his name, address and credit card number to a bunch of complete armed strangers. “We will do right by you” druckmann’s lies, replacing Joel in game trailers, and simply not succeeding in making us emphasize with she hulk, and more disrespectfully not even giving players the option to spare her at the end or not.     2020 is a trash year with covid-19, but this game is a **** mistake because of too many superfluous moments where the story is in breakdown moments or where the moral is that more angry tou are more you have possibility to become lost and felt lost when I played this game. The worst thing thing I hate about this game is that at the end Elllie have to kill someone who hurt her by past and the **** is that Neil Druckmann didn't give choice to Ellie to kill or not. That my **** question, why didn't you, Neil, do that to players? this should have done a really better game. To finish, if you just want a 10/10 graphic with 9/10 in action game, this could be yours but if you want a really part 2 of the last of us with a respect of the legendary first opus, this couldn't give the same fellings.     Part 2 is sadism, nothing more. Neil Druckmann has admitted as much, and pompously proclaimed that the game will be a cash cow. Don't give him or Sony a cent for this.

The role that Abby has, is absurd in my opinion, so many people that Joel killed and now they came out with it, I understand that, but, the reason for Ellie's revenge they destroy it in a minute, he killed the only person whom Ellie could consider father and destroyed your family.     Druckmann spat in my soul with the plot of this game. SJW agenda and revenge for the sake of revenge, to understand that revenge is bad - that's all you need to know about this such a long story. After this game, I can no longer take the first part seriously. The game series is dead.

    Despite all that, technically, it's a marvelous game, I could finish it only because of it's technical quality, this is really a next-gen, what I can't say about stupid characters and stupid motivation of them. I feels not natural, Ellie said so much crap to Joel, which is nonsense. NO man or woman in the entire world would want do what she wanted, you wanted to make her unique, but made her look stupid.

    A literary masterpiece! A great tragedy that makes you feel a roller-coaster of emotions, and makes it nearly impossible for the player/viewer to pick a side in the conflict. Ethics are not black and white in this story, it is way more complex than thay. It depicts humans at their worst and their best, with all the flaws that make them human. Simply amazing!

Everything works fine. Graphics? Solid as well. Story? Absolutely disgusting trash. From landscapes to items on a desk. Everything looks amazing. The gameplay builds upon the first game and improves it in every way. It’s much longer as well and you get a lot of game per dollar value. The dialogue isThis is probably the most polished game I’ve ever played. Only criticism with this game is the ending. The epilogue is too long but not a horrible addition because more game is better than less, especially when well done. The actual crescendo of the game is a let down, but the first game had a disappointing ending. They wanted to tell an honest story, so the highs throughout the narrative are going to be stronger than it’s end.… Expand

I'm huge fan of the first game and I used to hate part 2 when I haven't even experienced it on my own. My brother simply told me that I should give it a try. And I will always thank him for that.     The game play is great though and the action in the game solid. Every time i was allowed to just play the game i had a good time. Every game mechanic utilized in game play works perfectly.
    I could see myself playing the game again, but only with ALL the cut scenes skipped.

I think peoples complaints have a lot to do with the fact that the plot was leaked, as i noticed more people who were spoiled went into the game with a negative mindset. This game tells a story of hate and revenge, but to the people that claim its simply ‘revenge bad’ over and over again don’t seem to understand that the first game told its message in the same way. Its not ham fisted, only told in a way that its up for your own interpretation.

    To the people saying its just SJW **** Whatre you talking about? Its the most inclusive yet non ham fisted story about lgbt characters. Ellie and Dina kiss near the END! There relationship is told very casually and they care for each other as any other couple would. They dont walk around saying ‘im gay look at how gay i am!’. The same thing goes for lev! Him being trans is part of the story, but the fact that hes trans isnt even forced down your throat in the slightest because the audience and the characters already know! Naughty dog knows you don’t need to be reminded evert 6 seconds!

    Finally, abbys cool. Even if she killed Joel shes pretty likeable by the end of the story. Goodbye    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After all the leaks and negative reviews about the game came out I will admit that put me off from playing the game for almost 2 years. But with a clear mind I decided to give the game the benefit of the doubt and man it was worth it. The visuals are amazing, the gameplay flows perfectly, and the character building brings a whole new light towards characters one would otherwise hate for reasons you’ll see in the first parts of the game. The thing I liked the most which made me turn around in my opinion is what they did with Joel’s character. Now spoiler alert for all who didn’t play yet or see the leaks when the game was coming out, but in the first 4 hours of the game roughly, Joel is Killed by Abby, who’s the secondary protagonist and antagonist respectfully. Despite that though there are still several flashback scenes that you play through as a younger Ellie which sheds light on both bonding moments and breaking moments between Joel and Ellie after the first game ended. Both the voice actors all did an amazing job at portraying these characters. And yes the one gripe I have is both the mo-cap of Abby and a very vivid sex scene that happens, however the scene does fit the story and is brief enough to where I was unbothered. This is a long and emotionally draining game, but the characters and the story will help you claw through it and witness some amazing beats. I would definitely recommend it at least 1 play through, while I plan my second and maybe third.… Expand

It offers amazing combat, intricately detailed and beautiful graphics, and a very fluent gameplay. The game offers an extremely realistic experience, especially when played on grounded difficulty; zombies can hear you when you are near enough if you reload guns or if you open your backpack. The game brings a very dark mood, which in turn creates a fantastic dynamic for the revenge that Ellie is seeking. The game brings constant tension and keeps you intrigued at all times. It has been illustrated very clearly that naughty dog have worked very hard to bring insane details in graphics as well as each room in the game. It seems many people give overwhelmingly negative reviews just because they are in their feelings as Joel dies. As a big last of us fan, it killed me inside to see Joel die. However, I am smart enough to be objective and at least have the mental capacity to understand that naughty dog let Joel die for a strong reason. They wanted gamers to experience a crazy rollercoaster of emotions. They wanted you to feel the anger that Ellie is feeling. As a sympathetic person, I was able to let go of the anger once I played as Abby. The 10 hours of playing as Abby allows us to gain sympathy for her as we experience the terror she goes through during the 3 days as well as the trauma of her father’s death. To be frank, there are 2 segments of the game that I would have loved to have been different; 1.) I wish we would get considerably more hours of gameplay as Ellie, and 2.) I would have preferred to only play as ellie and Joel, but I believe it would have not been as much of an emotional and thrilling gameplay. To conclude, I recommend this game to anyone who is willing to have a holistic and objective approach. I truly believe this is the most amazing experience that any current game offers in terms of emotions, tension, and excitement.… Expand

    Why the bad reviews it’s one of the best stories ever told in a game. Maybe Hideo Kojima gets better but otherwise this game was magnificient!!!
