    The game is not nearly as bad as people are claiming. Yes there are storytelling flaws, but most of the flaws pointed out by low score reviewers are invalid, and can be debunked by applying some common sense and picking clues from context. There are some story elements that could've definitely been handled better. So my final verdict is to give this a try, and if you don't want to pay full price, you can wait till this goes on sale to decide for yourself.     Loved the game, the gameplay is very satisfying and almost every aspect of this game is an improvement of the first one, the encounters with the infected and humans are way better in this game, it kept me at the edge of my seat.     Graphics, gameplay, acting, technical aspects, and controls are out of this world. Unbelievably good. Story was one of the most thought provoking and depressing stories I have ever consumed in a piece of media. Beautifully written and told.     La verdad la pase muy bien jugandolo, todo lo que tiene que ver con el apartado técnico es un trabajo surrealista, solamente por eso no le pondré una nota negativa, pero la historia si que deja mucho que desear, Neil druckman te quedo grande tu propio proyecto, una lastima!

    Spent 25+ hours looking for the sixty dollar value spent on this. Searched every nook and cranny. Trophies were attained one after another during my quest. Finally found it. In what has to be the most brave, bold, and revolutionary step in gaming history--I got to herd sheep.

None of the beloved characters are perfect people...some people fail to understand that the Joel from this game is a softened person because Jackson and meeting Ellie made him human again. Some people Forget what a mean person Joel was...almost evil...since the death of Sarah. Some would say he was like that to survive but even Tommy says in the first game that Joel did things that gave him nightmares implying that his behavior made them go their separate ways...Tommy even says that he'd rather be dead than living with those nightmares that Joel Gave him. The love of Ellie Gave Joel his humanity back saying that from the first game a lot people failed to understand that Abby's story is similar to Joel's too not only with Ellie's. Ellie doesn't kill Abby in the end not for mercy...but because by the end of Abby's Journey Abby is a a redeemed person who also is a child protector...just like Joel...Ellie has an insight that she would be killing Lev's Joel(Abby)...Naughty dog even inserts a Joel's image right at moment to explain that...the gameplay, gfx and level design are top notch the best in the industry...the only problem is that people who didn't understand the first game that is a story of redemption and not only protection...this game shows...that other people may not forget your sins and that people can also redeem themselves just like Joel did...… Expand

    Amazing graphics, fantastic soundtrack. The gameplay is great too and even though the story isn't as good as the first one, I still really enjoyed it and loved playing the game.

Daré mi opinión después de pasarlo dos veces pasa empezar quiero recordar lo que me hizo sentir el primer juego no lo olvido nunca fue de los primeros juegos que me hacía sentir intrigado y emocionado de lo que vendrá no lo paraba de jugar pero no pasa en esta segunda parte, una obra maestra fue desperdiciada lo tenían todo para hacerlo un juegazo pero en cuestión de narrativa es la peor del año o de la generación, una historia forzada sin sentido te quieren hacer empatizar con un persona que no funciona momentos inexplicables, una pequeña parte piensa que este juego es odiado por escenas gay qué hay pero es lo de menos el problema no está ahí está en la historia es una verdadera m.... en cuestión de gráficos y jugabilidad ahí es su punto fuerte pero la historia hace que la jugabilidad se sienta forzada y repetitivo en algunas partes no llega a más la ira de la gente es justificativo y más si jugaron la primera parte, esta segunda parte es un insulto para los fans de la primera y en conclusión no es una obra maestra simplemente algo bueno que dará de hablar pero no por lo bueno que sea si no por qué no lleno las expectativas del consumidor.… Expand

    I finally finished The Last Of Us Part II. Graphical it is a marvel/masterpiece to look at everything within the game. The detail and the enivornments look amazing. The gameplay is really good and if it ain't broke don't fix it motto that I learned from a long time ago.     The gameplay is really good and if it ain't broke don't fix it motto that I learned from a long time ago. It follows the same as The first game and does a couple of new things that is good too. Although you do the same things a lot and does get tired for a bit but didn't bother me too much.

    Now onto the story/characters. I have to say the story in this one is not as outstanding as the first one. I can see what they were trying to do with Ellie and new character Abby. I can understand the message they were trying to do as it is about Revenge as the main theme but I felt it focused on it too much and it did get a little sloppy in writing structure.

    It didn't have a glimmer of light too much unless it is the flashbacks which they were good to look at.

    I dont mind a dark story and knew I was going to expect that when playing The Last Of Us Part II but too much. Also I felt it did drag a little bit and tried to do too much. If it had tightened up bits in the middle then I would have said it is brilliant. Some scenes I felt were in the wrong spots needed some moving.

    I didn't like killing the dogs and why was that in there. It puzzled me they were meant to be bad but still didn't like it.

    I do love Ellie and Dina's relationship in the story and I did like Abby with Vara and Lev as they produced some nice character moments. I do like they showed that everyone has shades of grey which I feel a lot of people didn't get at all but needed some better writing.

    Now the ending I wasn't pissed off about I understood why they did it but again I think the writing again was a little off and make people go what the.....

    It is a good game and worth checking it out. I wouldn't be replaying it over and over again like The Last Of Us but worth giving a try.

    I would give it a 7/10 for the look of the game and the gameplay being excellent. The story lets it down as it was a bit long and played out but understood why they did.

    I don't mind if The Last Of Us Part III doesn't happen    … Expand

    Две интересные и разные стороны одной истории, имеющие общий знаменатель - месть.
    Атмосферный геймплей постапокалиптического мира, открытого для исследований - каждая записка, найденная героинями в игре, способна подтолкнуть на размышление или на другие эмоции. Конечно, если вы не сели играть в игру "лишь бы скорее пробежаться".
    А эти "тупые" шутки, которые временами заставляют смеяться всерьез! "Кто самый тихий зверь на ферме? Цыплёнок!"

    Более того, до выхода игры я думал, что должна погибнуть Дина и месть будет строиться на этом. Думал, что из-за этого и минусят игру. Но смерть Джоэла не глупа, аргументирована.
    Все говорят о том, что Эбби стероидный трансгендер - но забывают подумать о том, что она ежедневно тренировалась для того, чтобы отомстить за отца.
    В игре множество моментов, понять которые можно лишь подумав и пропустив это через себя - но игроки будто отучились чувствовать и мыслить - им нужно, чтобы все было подано сразу "на блюдечке"

    К слову, трейлер, показанный нам ранее, где Дина целуется с Элли, я воспринял с мыслью "Чёё?". Но поиграв в игру, пережив эту историю, и увидев этот момент с продолжением ближе к концу игры - совершенно другие эмоции.

    Многие жалуются на однообразность геймплея - вы что? Вспомните первую часть - то же выживание, тот же лут, тот же напарник (почти тот же). Затянутая игра? Вам дали сюжета на 25 часов (мне потребовалось именно столько для прохождения) и я разочарован лишь в том, что игра все-таки закончилась. Ах да, пропаганда.. Странно, что за эти 25 часов я ничего из пропаганды не заметил. Два поцелуя на 25 часов (один из которых мы видели в трейлере). Кто-то увидел в игре азиатов, чернокожих и прочие этнические расы - ребята, да то, что вы делаете акцент на этом - это странно! Я даже этого не заметил, потому что был увлечен игрой, а не поисками до чего бы дое**ться.

    Я считаю, что эта игра ничем не уступает ни сюжетно, ни технически, ни эмоционально.
    Такое ощущение, что людям вбили, что игра о лесбиянках, толерантности и других меньшинствах. Люди начитались обзоров от тех, кто прошел игру на ютубе, прочитал статьи о сливах и не более. Чтобы судить о игре, нужно играть в нее.

    Для меня эта часть - лучшее, что было на этом поколении консоли.    … Expand

    Photography, gameplay, lenght, ballance between innovation and essence with the previous game, everthing is perfect... as a game perfect. As a story, not much, just another story of revenge with many none-sense desitions.

    I've never been more disappointed in a game ever. I was a huge fan of the original and I think that's why I dislike this sequel so much. If you were a big fan of The Last of Us I strongly recommend to avoid playing part 2. This game will go down in history as the wrong way to make a sequel

    Characters were well portrayed; but implementation of the story continued with hazy writing, as well as frustrating and sometimes confusing flashbacks is just a burden for players. Character swap occurs wayyy too often, and the story truly became boring.

    This game is absolute trash. I've loved every game from Naughtydog all the way back to Crash. This is the worst thing I've ever seen let alone paid for. They should offer refunds like movie theaters use to. Bait and switch.

Jogo sensacional uma obra prima não tenho muito Oq falar, esse jogo dividiu muito bem os fãs de Last Of Us dos Fãs do Joel , antes de jogar não tava confiante e quando joguei odiei completamente a morte do Joel porém Ss os motivos da abby são suficientes pelo que ela fez infelizmente querendo ou não Joel teve Oq merecia, a abby teve Oq merecia quando perdeu seus amigos e a Ellie recebeu Oq merecia por ter matado os amigos da abby ! Porém esse não tem um lado certo seja Ellie ou abby pois cada um tem seu ponto de vista e julga está fazendo o certo pois no mundo que se passa não tem mais definição de certo ou errado.
    Bom esse 2 jogo se sustenta inteiro no 1 E tudo que ocorre aqui foi tudo causado pelas ações do Joel, por favor parem de reclamar da morte do Joel pq ele moveu tudo ele foi o foco msm morto o jogo foi todo desenvolvido nele por causa dele ! Fortunately, for the people who were ready, we accept the themes that naughty dog added to this game, and also just how much they pushed the boundaries in terms of storytelling and gameplay. Please never stop doing what you do Naughty Dog. If you ever see this. Know the real fans are here. And we love what you have done with game.     Ultimate letdown of a game in the series that people loved and waited for 7 years. No upgrades in gameplay, unnecessary emphasis on LGBTQ, forcing the player to sympathize with the villain of the story, a very dissociated and weak storyline that pampers to a certain group of people, not caring about the real gamers and fans of the series.

    Ótimo jogo, história muito bem construída com construções ótimas de personagens.
    Pecou em apenas 1 momento marcante para mim (que sim, era muito marcante para a história de TLOU) , mas acabei relevando pela ótima experiência.

    Lamentablemente como fan,estoy decepcionado y triste,lo que le hicieron a la historia y personajes fue simplemente arruinarlos,el gameplay está bien,pero pierde su encanto cuando te obligan a jugar la mitad del juego con un personaje el cual cae mal,y el final es el remate de esta saga,fatal no lo recomiendo.

You had it all, a good story, a good drama, the most beautiful graphics we had seen that year, in short, a Masterpiece, and now you just ruined everything the worst way... You force us to love or understand the reasons and history of this character (Abby) and that was not enough for you, but you make us play with her and save her too, before killing Joel. It was supposed to cause us some kind of pain and have empathy with her, right? The truth was not achieved in the least.

    The strength of TLOU was the relationship between Ellie and Joel after having lost Sara, the fact that he cared for her as his own daughter, you could kill any other character and give a very similar drama and feelings to us, the fans. You could have even made us fall in love with Tommy and then kill him or do a massacre and then Ellie & Joel's revenge, but what made the game so successful years ago, was the relationship between them, as main characters... Even the end of the game is horrible, all for nothing, at least you should get revenge for Joel.

    I loved this story, the most perfect one, it even surpassed that of many movies. The only thing that makes me give this rating are the graphics, they are still beautiful, even more, some of the most realistic for these times, and yet it isn't enough for the disaster that you did to the game. :/

    All those who comment that it was a good plot line is because they are not real fans of the game, perhaps it is just one more game that they just liked. But for true fans it was the worst thing ND could have done.    … Expand

    The only reason I’m giving any points at all is for the games graphics and some of the cool fight segments. Other than that, for as long as this game has been in development, it’s sad to see how poorly written this game is. The game constantly switches between the past and present, creating a few plot holes along the way. The dialogue is horrible as well.

    So the game. Some strong stuff right there. After trailers I was kinda prepared what to expect so I enjoyed it big time. Wasn't caught by surprise by it's extra real violence and cruelty. I like how everything is right on point with this one. No messing around. Bang and that's it.    So... Last of Us Part II beaten first weekend since the release. Doing second play through ag the moment.
    So the game. Some strong stuff right there. After trailers I was kinda prepared what to expect so I enjoyed it big time. Wasn't caught by surprise by it's extra real violence and cruelty. I like how everything is right on point with this one. No messing around. Bang and that's it. Devs are not afraid to show and explore new things usually not shown in video games. I like it. With all it's bold story, characters and the rest of design choices it's a top notch piece of art. One of the best. Gonna do the third play through on PS5 for sure.

In the first half of the game, I found it to be quite good honestly apart from earlier events that shaped the basis of this 'John wick' story concept of getting revenge and personally, I quite enjoyed this. It was still ok during the second half to me although it caused a somewhat controversial perspective to the game but it was only during the end of the game that I thought the game was becoming a bit too choppy and rushed. Let’s start off with this: anyone who saw the leaks and formed an opinion of the game based primarily on that content should NOT be listened to when it comes to rating this game. People do not understand where Druckmann took the story because they were stuck in TLOU 1. But before I get into the why’s and how’s of this game, let’s talk about gameplay.

    GAMEPLAY
    You will have anxiety attacks. The combat mechanics and refined and impactful. Your ammo runs out fast, the AI is smart, the environments are open-ended enough for ballsy trigger-fingers or sneaky ninjas. The infected are menacing, with a touch more humanity than the previous game. You really do have to think before you act. There are insane action scenes as well as soft, well-paced moments of carefully crafted exposition. GRAPHICS
    It’s Naughty Dog. CHARACTERS
    This is where the game shined to me. Every character is three dimensional. Who is bad? Who is good? You can’t tell. That is the point. In the context of this tired, fungus-ridden post-apocalypse, there is no good and evil; there is people and the extent they’ll go to survive and protect. Ellie progresses through the story losing her humanity and becoming more like, you guessed it, Joel. Abby is a misunderstood victim: Joel took everything from her. The characters all put in what they need to, but they don’t necessarily get a “fair” send-off. And guess what: they shouldn’t. This world is not fair. NARRATIVE
    This is the big one. The story is meant for people who understand the CONTEXT. The story is NOT meant for people who want a hero-based plot. Joel isn’t a hero. Ellie isn’t innocent. People were angry because Joel died the way he did. But they fail to realize that you as the player did the exact same things to others in the first game as they were done to Joel in this one. The idea is that even though Joel was presented as the GOOD GUY to us, that doesn’t make him the hero.

    The story is meant to show the player one thing: perspective. This is why you WATCH Abby kill Joel, and THEN play through her flashback. It is meant to challenge you. Apparently, we as gamers have not evolved past the “shoot and run” mentality of video games. Apparently, few of us can understand Naughty Dog’s vision. If you are thinking about getting this game, or if you are unsure of what to think now that you’ve reached the credits, look at it this way: there is absolutely nothing that this world owes to you. Do not play this game if all you can fathom in video games is a black and white hero story. This is meant to question your belief, it is meant to make you uncomfortable.    … Expand

    I've never felt so much for any piece of media that I've ever consumed, that I have for TLOU2. I cried for 3 days straight after my first playthrough. Just finished the game for the second time. It's such a beautifully devastating piece of art and my mind can't seem to let it go. I feel empty inside now that it's over.

    I went into The Last of Us Part II without reading any of the leaks or reading any reviews. Overall, I loved the game and the story. My only criticism is that some of the dilemmas and moral choices faced by the characters were a little on the nose. A little more subtlety and less obviousness would have been the only improvement I could think of.

They wanted you to want revenge, to be angry, and the reviews reflect that. They want you to see the grey in things, that not everything is black and white. The decisions made by characters in this game and real decisions any of us can make if pushed to the breaking point of loss and sadness. They made some BOLD moves in the story and I think they're excellent. I cried, it was hard to see this story play out.

    The Last of Us 2 is now my favorite game of all time. I'm now on my third play through and I plan to keep going. The world is huge, the story is long, and there's lots to see along the way. Get this game and be ready to feel all sorts of emotions. It's worth it.    … Expand

This a marvelous way of humanizing the person you hated, showing that the monster, is just another human being with real human being problems.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of Us part 2, is a direct sequel to the beloved 2013 game with masterpiece storytelling called the Last of Us. The sequel, Last of Us part 2 left me confused and puzzled, but in the end it is an okay game, just not on par with the first game.
    So let's get this straight, TLOU2 has AMAZING visuals. Like really game looks fantastic graphically, and the gameplay elements are mostly the same as the first game. The acting of the actors, without judging the roles they play is also phenomenal. They did a truly great job in this section of the game.
    Now comes the most hated section. The writing of the game.
    The Last of Us part II's writing is average. For something as good as last of us, the story is a bit bland and is a generic revenge based story. There are quite some plot holes and lots of confusion at times. Characters introduced are bland and uninteresting and their motives are not well explained either. Character development is barely done, and you can't even connect with most new characters unlike the characters from TLOU 1. Relationships are just thrown in and out randomly without any actual development. Unlike most critic reviews, the characters are really forgettable.

    Joel's death early in-game causes Ellie to be enraged to take revenge from Abby, but at the end she forgives her. I found the ending foolish but as I replayed the game a few more times I understood it. The game's story revolves around the cycle of revenge. If Ellie killed Abby, her friends would take revenge from Ellie and so on. Ellie apparently ended this cycle and moved on from grieving for Joel.

    This was an interesting theme of a story, but really poorly implemented. The writing has to be the biggest flaws of this game and the reason why everyone hates this game. Not because people are homophobic or Anti-LGBT, it's just because the people generally dislike the flaws of the story. 2ndly, you get to play as Abby, (who killed Joel) without any main backstory! You get only few flashbacks and move on in control of her, with the game showing these minor flash back moments so the player could "sympathise" with Abby.

    The biggest reason for the hate against Naughty Dog is their inability to acknowledge the flaws of the game or the general dislike of it from some of their fans. If they had acknowledged their opinion instead of calling them homophobic and not have a very high ego, things might have played a bit differently.

    So yeah I give this game a 7/10 because honestly, 0-1 reviews make no sense, if you give that number review to this game, you really haven't played games worth 1/10's. TLOU2 is far more worth than a 1, despite its obvious flaws.    … Expand

Them they give you a horrible revenge plot that ends up falling through anyway. PLUS they make you play as Abby for a whole chunk of the game after his death. This means that players are forced to play a character that they hate for a large portion of the game. It makes the game unbelievably hard to finish playing. Then Ellie’s girlfriend leaves her and on top of that Ellie can no longer play Joel’s song. Terrible game, don’t recommend.… Expand

This game will make you uncomfortable and mad. But that's the beauty of it it's an emotional roller coaster. I've never felt all these emotions while playing a video game. Just played through the game, and i must say 10/10 masterpiece, story gameplay level design music everything, i hated abby at first then playing through her part was soooo amazing i can't wait to play through it again, great job naughty dog for delivering another masterpeice, don't listen to the haters guys, revenge story tirning into a story about empathy and the joel scen at the end got me right in the feels.… Expand

In a singleplayer game the main focus is the story, it affects 80% of the experience, graphics doest matter if the story is good, but when the story is this bad, there's something wrong, most bad reviews are rated as homophobic and anti-lgbt, but it's not the case here. This game is a **** show story-wise, so many flashbacks, even one inside another, they say revenge isn't Worth it, but how can you sell something that doesn't conclude itself in the manner it was sold in the first place? It really deserves the hate, they coul make Abby spend more time.with Joel, starting to get conflicting thoughts about her revenge, even against her friends. I doesn't recommend the game for anyone, feels like a teenager drama show with some gore. That's it.… Expand

Good graphics, nice music, respect to the developers team, respect to voice actors.... but the game play was somehow repetitive, the charisma of the main characters was killed off, the direction in which the story developed was disappointing, there were some major logical gaps... As a free time gamer and a big fan of the TLOU and DLC I feel betrayed by purposeful provoking of false expectations by trailers and marketing.., I preordered the game and did not watch the spoilers, but now regret it, should have bought the used version for a half of the price... it's sad that the ND decided to spit into the soul of the long time fans and now tries to make us feel guilty for not liking it. Very very disappointing...… Expand

    I cannot even understand how they released this game as the second part of one of the best games of all time, didn't they realize that the story was 95% of why the first is a masterpiece? Not the graphics, not the fight mechanic, not the lighting effects.....The story!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
