Bottom line: This is a great game. This is actually the type of drama movie (at some point the I got tired of gameplay and started to “run through” the fights, so I won’t say anything about it), which I really love. With heavy narrative, ambiguous well-revealed characters and very emotional scenes. For a long time I did not have games from which it was so difficult to tear myself away.
With all the community dislike for Abby (which is just populist suicides when playing for her), I empathized with her more than Ellie.
Yes, she killed Joel (the actions and choice of which led to all further events), but she avenged her father, to a lesser extent a lost chance for humanity. She is no different in her motives from Ellie. But in the end she lost much more for external reasons. Unlike Ellie, who, in a fit of anger, turned her back on everyone whom she cherished.
The very SJW agenda here is so insignificant that it can’t be called an agenda. Neil - well done.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's funny how people are okay with seeing one of the most beloved character in the history of video games brutally tortured and killed in the most humiliating ways.
it's funny how they are okay with the idea of playing as Joel's killer for half of the game and expecting the player to sympathize with her.
Maybe if you showed me her back story before showing me her beating Joel to death, I would've felt for her but noo…
We waited seven years to see the dynamic between Ellie and Joel but instead you murder him in the first two hours of a 30-hour plus game.
And what the **** was that ending? you spend the whole game killing, butchering, burning, and shooting humans who did nothing personal against you. But you let the person who killed Joel get away after she bit 2 of Ellie's fingers off because revenge bad.
oh and that left a Ellie unable to play the guitar taking away from her the physical manifestation of Joel's love and care.
And can we talk for a minute about the false advertising, deceiving people into thinking that Joel would be more invested in the story.
Most of the people who loved the last game loved it for the relationship that Ellie and Joel had.
    This cute father/daughter, gardian/innocent dynamic.
The main theme of the story was hope and how you can find peace and order in a world filled with chaos.
From the beginning of the game the story tells you when you're lost in the darkness look for the light.
But unfortunately in the Last of Us part 2 there was no light.
The relation between Ellie and Joel was destroyed for 99% of the game.
And they act off their character:
-Joel who was in the last part cautious, strong and smart he refused to pick up a dude that pretended to be injured because of his intuitions. However at the second part he saves a stranger that have no idea where she's from, whether she's infected or not and follows her to her group and be like "hey my name is Joel Miller I live downtown and here's my bank password". okay I get it, living with Ellie made him soft but not that stupid.
-in the first game Ellie cared about life. life of people that she loved: Riley, Tess, Sam…
You can see her shock when she shot another human for the first time to save Joel. You can see the guilt and pain in her face from all the people she killed to protect herself and Joel by the end of the winter chapter when she's smashing David's face.
However in the Last of Us part II she transforms from this innocent child that cares about others to this monter that don't give a **** about humans or animals.
and then later they show you Abby and how she's petting dogs and playing catch with them forcing on you the idea that Ellie bad, Abby good.
So yeah, in conclusion, if you gave this game 10/10 I'm sure as hell you were payed or you gave it this high grade for just the flashback of Ellie and Joel in the museum because that's the only part of the game where I felt like I was playing the Last of Us.
Naughty dog made this game just to make money they don't give a **** about fans at all.
The first game brought them a lot of success and they wanted more of it cell they didn't bother putting an effort into making the sequel cuz they know most people would buy it.
And yeah nobody can deny the amount of detail and effort that the developers put into the graphics but it's just like buying a McDonald's burger. You don't buy it for the fries you buy it for the whole meal so don't buy the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us has joined the ranks of beloved franchises that were ruined by bad writing despite having almost everything going for them: amazing graphics, great sound design, fantastic actors and an astronomical amount of money.

Sadly, all of this is wasted on a cookie cutter revenge story that loves to make you feel as miserable as possible, confusing this with deep and impactful writing. Charactes returning from the first game might as well be new characters altogether because they are often entirely unrecognizable, while at other times their old selves are at least shining through somewhat. Almost everyone is a terrible person doing terrible things to each other for the sole purpose of revenge. Parts of the story genuinely feel like an overly long fan fiction; the game could (and should) have been 6-8 hours shorter than it is. Nothing of value would have been lost.

One thing I will recommend the writers for is that they at least tried to make the Abby plotline work, and that the inclusion of it in itself was a pretty ballsy move. Taking risks like this shouldn't be shot down in general and could have been really good. Forcing the player to play as the murderer of Joel and showing that she is just another person in and of itself is not a bad concept, whatever some people might say. Not nearly as deep as the game thinks it is, but it could have worked fine. All the problems lie in the length and pacing. Abby is not a particularly likable character even if you exclude her murder of Joel, she's just too bland and goody two shoes for this.

If she absolutely had to be included, it should have been a short segment after each "day" we play as Ellie and not half the game in a row. Naughty Dog's and Sony's marketing was genuinely, unironically deceptive in this regard and should (but won't) have consequences. But much fewer people would have batted an eye if we had played as Abby for an hour at a time as a sort of "break" between Ellie chapters.
"Cycles of violence" is a nice, but meaningless, buzzword. What exactly does this game teach us, as opposed to the first game's profound message of paternity and selfishness? Revenge is bad. Murder is bad. People are, in fact, not black and white. A five year old understands this. The Last of Us Part II is miserable and violent for the sake of it. Don't mistake this for brilliant and game changing writing, because it isn't. It's an embarrasment.

    4/10 (Bad)

However, I can't in good conscience give this game a 4 as a sum total because there is more to a video game than just the story. Almost every other aspect of this game was phenomenal and deserving of some praise. All this in mind, I'd give it a 6/10 (Fine).

All in all, The Last of Us Part II was a huge disappointment after such a long wait. It's very telling that this game will still win all the awards and was a huge critical hit despite its mediocrity, whereas the fandom is much more divided on the topic. In my opinion, this game suffered from both positive and negative review bombing on this site (a 10 is just as ridiculous as a 0), but deserves the middle ground rating that resulted from this.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ever since The Last Of Us released seven years ago, fans have been waiting eagerly for a continuation to Joel and Ellie's story. Now that the sequel has finally been released and I have consumed all the content I can from the game, I can now say that The Last Of Us Part 2 not what many expected.

There is a lot of good and bad in this game. Like usual, Naughty Dog has given us a game that is visually amazing to look at. The set pieces (especially in Seattle Day 1) look amazing and really immerse you into the game's world. Gustavo Santaolalla did as brilliantly on the soundtrack for this game as he did the last. The soundtrack is something I could listen to all day. Gameplay-wise, it's very similar to the first. There are some improvements but definitely not outstanding ones. The gameplay is good nonetheless.

Now the story, oh boy the story. It saddens me what an udder disappointment the story was. If you were a huge fan of the first game like me, you will certainly not like way this game's story goes. Killing off a main character in any media only works when it's done well. We learn in the first game that Joel doesn't trust many people. He understands how people work in this new world any does anything to survive. He would not just walk into a building with random survivors he just met and tell them his name. Joel dies in the most disrespectful way possible most likely because of laziness from the writers. I do not have a problem with Joel dying, it is simply the way he died that annoys me and many others. Abby is a whole other story. The second half of the game shoves the idea of Abby actually having reasons to kill Joel down your throat. I liked her relationship with Lev and Yara and I liked weirdly liked parts of her story. The problem is, it goes on for too long that I started to get bored.

I could go on and on about the problems with Abby's story but I just don't want to. I wish this game was restructured so that maybe I would enjoy it more.

The Last Of Us Part 2 is a game that looks visually stunning with a beautiful soundtrack right beside it and gameplay that kept me excited, but it's unfortunately brought down by the lacklustre story that feels like to it goes on for too long.

    Verdict - 6/10

I couldn’t describe what I felt throughout playing the game, I loved it, but I was extremely sad too. I started caring about Abby, who I hated for what she did to Joel. How we see her side of the story is something I did not like in the beginning, but throughout the game having played as her, I felt such empathy for what was first a villain. Ellie wanted revenge, but the path of revenge is an endless one. She became what she was hunting. And in the end it was all not worth it. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think first time I heard about this game in 2016. Back then one designer works for Naughty dog, writes hers linkedin page about the design of Ellie. Like she was 4-5 year older than the first game. After that I heard a rumor, something like "Joel is dying". I just like I hope it won't happen. When the first trailer comes up, when I heard Joel's voice I was in relief.

I pre-ordered the game in October 2019, game delayed after again again. Then Sony decided to give our money back without asking. I was like "wtf, I can wait, why the hell are you giving the money back". After I got my money back I watch the latest trailers. I was expecting a couple of things like more black people and more gay/lesbian/transexual etc. because that is the new trend. That is ok for me.

I just re-pre-order the game again, waiting to download and open its lock. I played it 3 days, it took almost 30 hours. I cried in the scenes like Joel's death, Tommy's got shot and Ellie's barn scene.

I played the first game in both ps3 and ps4. I bought all dlc's in ps3, all finished it. Also I'm collecting the trophies of the games, so I finished it on Grounded mode etc.

After I played a lot of times, Ellie is like a daughter to me. While I played the dlc's, I feel like Joel is a father to me.

Comes to the game again, Killing my father, I will begin my revenge with my friends and my uncle. Doing that my uncle got crippled, my friend is dead. I killed almost everybody, but not the main character. So I decided to go back, living with my lover and her son. After everything seems settled, crippled uncle comes to me and said he found the main character. I decided to go hundred of kilometers to find the character, almost killed couple of times.

In the end, decided to not to get her revenge. That is because she can see Joel good in her dreams back. That isn't a storytelling, that is something like Stephen King movie. Everything is good, but ending is soooo bad so it ruins almost everything.

I give that score for music, athmosphere etc.

Last note to Neil Druckmann, when you say something, you need to keep behind it. When the people talks about the overpowered girl, you said "we don't wanna sexualize the women". But in the game that very character get **** literally. In that scene we can see Owen's **** is bigger than hers.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Just to say the first game is one of my all time favorites. I love Joel, Ellie, the world, the story, everything!!

Currently on my second play-through (for all the collectables), but I'm noticing just how in depth the mini conversations are between characters while you explore the world. It's incredible the detail of the story. Dina telling Ellie about her plans to fix up a farm and this is just both heart warning and breaking when you know what's to come. (I wish I had more patrol missions with Dina and Ellie)

I'll be honest when I completed the game, I was in a weird state and I needed a day or so to contemplate what just happened. I played the island section till the end in one go. A LOT happens. A lot of stuff that as a player you don't want your character to do.

At first I wished I stopped at the Farm, but then Ellie would've been tormented forever and that was worse than what she eventually had to do.

Playing as Abby was a bit of a surprise and I wasn't too thrilled with playing another three days as her, but I definitely softened up to her. (Which is crazy to say, because of what she did, but how can you blame her.) Her and Lev are a fun duo.

Overall I give this game a 10, because I have never experienced anything like it before and it didn't disappoint.

The museum flash back, graphics, game play, sound design, weapon modification system and interactive guitar songs like jole singing future days and ellie singing take on me. These are just a few of my favorite parts in this game. I hate the way they killed Jole. I'm okay with Jole dying but I would have rather had it be more dramatic or later in the game. I know that's not how real life works but man, a golf club? Really? The best character in any game and damn near any other story I have seen or read gets his **** wrecked with a golf club just like that. It's not fair. But it's not meant to be. I understand why they had to do it but I wish it was different. Expand

Let me just say this... Everything this sequel set out to do following the original, it did so perfectly.

The developers wanted to tell a specific story. The main theme of this story is around revenge - that violence begets violence. The players may not agree with the decisions made in the game by main character. The thing is... they aren't meant to. You form certain perceptions by the time you're halfway through. Although Ellie's actions are questionable, you understand the reasoning behind them. And then the writers flip the script. You (hopefully) realise that the actions of the antagonist are equally as justified - in fact, they show more moral restraint than the protagonist. You hated what they did but the reasoning of their actions is the same. It's a vicious cycle which can only end with forgiveness. The non-linear story telling and the pace conveyed this theme excellently.

Apart from the story, the game design and voice acting was some of the best in any game ever. The landscape shots and character work really are things to marvel at and appreciate. This game does not shy away from violence. It's brutal. Again, as it is meant to be. This is one of the most stress inducing games I've played. The score adds to each intense scene, raising your heart rate and stress levels with every beat. I'm seeing an overwhelming amount of negative reviews on this site and on YouTube. Majority of what I've heard people complain about is 1) the story decisions which they didn't agree with and 2) the LGBTQ aspects. To the first I'd repeat what I said at the start - you may not agree what decisions they took but they had a strong reasoning for each one. If you can't see that, you may have missed the point. And for the second, I've seen games in the past forcefully push forward similar themes and it's clear - it doesn't sit right and you can tell its there to make a point. The Last of Us 2 doesn't feel that way at all. It flows as naturally in the game as any heterosexual story arcs in any other game do. If you feel that the developers put this in due to an agenda, and that's your basis for hate on this game then I do think you should avoid it on the whole. Play it with an open mind or you aren't going to have an enjoyable experience.

This may not the sequel you wanted it to be, but it's a masterpiece regardless. For me, the PS4 generation ended on a high note.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I apologize if i make mistakes, english is not my main language.

    1. There is no improvement in the game except for it's graphics and the new dodge mechanic that is completely broken and makes melee combat an ez pz task. Graphics are great, the gameplay is the same as in tlou 1, so there's nothing to talk about.

    2. The story is poor and full of "what a coincidence" moments and inconsistencies. Ellie is traumatized for torturing 1 person after killing thousands of them. I mean: WHAT, REALLY?

    3. The only point in the story is this "cycle of vengeance" metaphor. great cliché, doesn't explore further, doesn't even bother developing anything else, not a single good story neither for the wolves or the scars, just different groups fighting for territory.

    4. Abby doesn't kill a person that has travelled all across a city to kill her, just because? that without saying that Ellie killed everyone she cared about, of course. and SHE DOESN'T KILL HER cause it's Ellie?? OH BUT WAIT, she didn't have a problem when she had to travel all the way to Jackson to kill Joey. And all of this, for what? So Ellie can go after her AGAIN. TO LET HER LEAVE. Really? Ellie has a problem killing Abby but not all the people in the middle? this is ****

    5. What a piece of **** of an ending. But that's just my opinion.

    6. Lastly the game is so desperate to call attention that all of its main characters are LGBT, like saying "look at me, i'm inclusive". All non LGBT characters die. Except for Tommy just: BECAUSE. Even if he was shot in the eye. LGTB characters? no, we can't kill those. Look at me, i'm an inclusive game.
My question is: will there ever be a game that treats LGBT stuff as normal and not as a resource for screaming "look at me?". Suddenly it subverts all the machism and turns itself in the complete opposite type of game where all the character are either gay or empowered woman. Do we really want this to become the new "strong guy" ppal character for all the coming future games? will there ever be a middle-point?

My real note would be a 5, but seeing that people is just giving it 10's without reason i'll give it a lower note, i think it kinda deserves the review bombing.

And then that story takes a turn and the person you perceived as the villain turns out to be very human aswell which is apparently a tough pill to swallow for all these 0 raters that can't distinguish fictional characters from reality. Joel and Ellie aren't some heroes from a comic destined to have great adventures for eternity and live to tell the tale. It's a rough world in which Joel did some horrible stuff and that just caught up to him. Of course everyone has a right to their opinion but I dont get how one could love the first game for what it was and proceed to **** all over part 2 because Joel is killed in a meaningful way. If you really loved Joel so much you should feel like Ellie and be extremely motivated to actually play the game instead of just the first 2 hours. then there's the SJW bull**** that I can understand even less. Ellie has been a confirmed lesbian since Left Behind and shouldn't be a big deal at all. Ih yeah and then there are some Asian characters one of which happened to be trans, you know, like how some people are in the real world. It ties into the story too, in a believable way. The game doesn't make a big deal of it, though, nothing is forced down your throat, it's just there. And although those things being there dont have to be political at all if you choose to not look at it that way but just take it as character trades, what the inclusion of those characters does show us how much bigoted closed minded people there are, who get so angry from a lesbian and a trans character that they feel the need to rate this game a 0 one hour after its release and proceed to spend hours ****ting on the game on social media and send threats to the developers. That last sentence applies to the 'can't get over Joel being killed' people aswell but at least they are not necessarily a bunch of homophobic **** but just can't grasp how amazingly well written the plot of Part 2 is. So long story short; I dont understand the hate this game gets at all. I get that this story might not be for everyone since it's dark and sad and unapologetic but at least go in with an open mind and actually play it. Just play it. Its such a damn good game from exceptional storytelling to stunning environments, ridiculously good graphics, beautiful soundtrack and overall audio, so many little details and great combat that has some improvements since the original Last of Us (though mostly the same but that's not necessarily bad).
Downside is that the game is so realistic and soaks you into this post apocalyptic world so much that some encounters with infected almost made me crap my pants and made my heart almost explode with fear and adrenaline, especially with bloaters, shamblers and whatever the **** that thing in the hospital was.
    Do recommend.

The story is phenomenal. One of the greatest (if not the greatest) story based games I will ever play and better than many feature films. You will go through experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions

My only gripe is that some gameplay sections are a little repetitive, hence the -1 for the review.

You have to wonder, if the critic score is so high, and the user score is so low, is there something wrong with a large percentage of the gamer community? Yes. They haven't developed the mental grit needed to cope with the emotions this game will give you and as such register anger as they force their entitled view. My goodness I didn't realise the gaming community was full of such whining little babies.

You wouldn't go ask Gordon Ramsay to critique a plate of food and completely ignore his review once he gives it a 9/10 would you? Do yourself a favour, listen to the critics who know what they are talking about. Or at the very least, play it and make your mind up for yourself without reading these reviews.

The Last of Us part 2 is a gruelling game. It throws you through the emotional ringer time after time, and can at time be a little exhausting. It's perhaps a little overlong. But overall, i think the messages within are justified. The story is well-written. A simple revenge tale told well. I won't reveal it's multiple twists and turns (although i'm pretty sure the entire world knows them by now) but by and large it's a compelling experience. The graphics are what you expect from a Naughty Dog release and are incredible, easily the best of the generation. My only issue with the visuals are more often than not you're forced into dark spaces where it can be difficult to navigate. I had to adjust my settings away from the recommended brightness just to navigate a couple of sequences.

Overall i think the narrative beats are welcome, and although i loved both games i hope this is the last foray in the world of the last of us, as i don't think the world will ever be ready for a continuation on Ellie's journey. Great game which, i will no doubt play again at some point in the future! Highly recomended!

Naughty Dog are practically competing only against themselves when it comes to game making (still have to play Witcher 3 to put it to test though!). This game is technically the most impressive thing I've ever witnessed in games, and despite being released on a console, outclasses pretty much anything I've played on PC (I'm a PC guy). It's just unbelieveable to behold.

But, what is far more important, Naughty Dog has created the most gripping, roller-coaster and brutal narrative experiences in games and probably they are the only ones that are ever going to be able to top it. Last of Us Part I was just so easy to love, because despite the bleakness and harshness and killing, every decision you made as the protagonist you felt was right; and it made you feel good about yourself. Part II in turn will make you hate yourself all the time, hate the characters, hate their actions and hate the world they are in. And it does it on purpose, and with a clear aim of putting to test the very basic fantasy of revenge that is used recklessly and stupidly in so many Hollywood movies, mainstream games and works of fiction.

Naughty Dog could have went the easy road and create lukewarm semi-open world, boring fetch quest fest, that (judging from comments and other reviews) so many people would be content with. I respect Naughty for doing the opposite and having the courage to use the characters they created for something more meaningful despite knowing how much flak they would get. When Druckmann argued they did it because of love they had for Joel and Ellie, he was right: these characters deserved to be parts of story that would leave nobody indifferent, regardless of the side they would end up on. In the very least it would be eye opening experience to at least some.

Because, pains to say this, the mainstream public is being used to, and constantly served, cosy, simple stories in which moral divisions are clear and simple. The most we can expect in terms of moral grayness are antagonists that are somehow interesting and likeable. Revenge fantasies, even full of brutality, are constructed in a way that makes the viewer/player feel warm inside and shout out 'go get them, tiger' with each body falling to the floor, conveniently dying quickly, cleanly, and without a word of complaint. That's entertainment, that's using a framework of children stories morality to make adults happy.

Last of Us II subverts that, and it does so mercilessly. Each time you kill, you'll hear a shout of agony, each time a body is found, some friend of the fallen will lament, calling out his name. Your friends will die, some of them by your own hand, recognizing you moments before their death. Does it feel uncomfortable, does it feel bad to kill like this? Well, shame to rain on your parade, I guess it turns out that killing and revenge is not such a feel good business as John Wick made you believe.

That's the core gripe many people seem to have with the game. It made them feel like **** doing ****ty things. But hey, that's life I guess. It is only modern pop corn entertainment's fault that it pampers us so much that we ended up believing that the world is cleanly divided between the good guys and the bad guys.

All game systems strongly support the main goal that Naughty set for this game. It is almost flawless from the standpoint of game mechanics and I do not even want to deliberate too long on this. The only issue I have are maybe with the skill trees, which are even weirder in Last of Us Part I. There are clearly some skills that are nearly useless and would never be unlocked if they did not block access to skills that are useful. That's minor thing, though.

The game is long, as it's told from two perspectives. It feels even too long, because it puts you through such a wringer that at some point you just want all of that to stop. During the last fight there were moments when I just couldn't make myself do anything, both because I was so exhausted, and because I had difficulty accepting what I was supposed to do. The length, however, is a proof that Naughty Dog did not spare any effort or cost to drive their main point home: revenge is just a childish fantasy, self feeding spiral of death and brutality that quickly loses the clarity and nobility of its initial goal.

This game is not entertainment. It will not entertain you, in the simplistic meaning of this word. It will, however, allow you to live through an experience that, if you're open to it, will alter (or strengthen) the way you think about loss, death and your initial impulse to lash out and hurt.

I'm not sure if I will ever play this game again. In a sense, this is a one-time experience. It will however, be up there with a bunch of other works of art that had such an impact on me that I do not have to go through them again to remember them and have them fuel me through the rest of my life.

I absolutely loved the first TLoU game and have played it 7-8 times over the past few years.

Really had such high hopes for this game, but of all the stories that COULD have been told, this was not the one to present to us. This game would be ranking a solid 9-10 overall if the narrative was a continuation in some way of Joel and Ellie's story. For example, maybe Ellie gets a second

For example, maybe Ellie gets a second chance to be the saviour of mankind and Joel has to help her and redeem himself. Maybe Tommy and Dina get kidnapped and Joel and Ellie have to save them. Heck, ANYTHING else would have been better than this shallow, hot mess of a story.

When first introduced to the Abby character, all I could think about was how beefy she looked. Seriously, why did she have to look so masculine? As a female gamer who has been playing since 1988, I could hardly bear to look at her physically. All I could think was that she looked like an East German steroid-taking discus thrower from the old days. Those meaty arms and flat chest of hers were really unpleasant to look at for 10+ hours. I enjoy playing female characters such as Lara Croft and Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn), who can be absolutely bad-ass without looking like they want to arm wrestle you into the ground.

Whilst there were definitely a number of shining spots in both narratives, a lot of the Abby story felt like a total slog to get through. And seriously, how many boring, long cut scenes do you think we can watch of Abby, especially when nobody cares??? Honestly, it felt like torture and I just wanted to be done with her side of the story. In fact, I've never wanted to put down a controller more than during this game and was thrilled that I could turn on "Invisible When Prone" in the accessibility menu so that I could get through the Abby section faster.

Also, for me, this game has no replay value. I have absolutely zero desire to sit through the whole thing again, which is in total contrast to the first game where I played through again almost immediately after finishing it.

So, definitely not up to the standard expected in terms of story and for sure I will never pre-order and pay full price for another Naughty Dog game again.

Lastly, WTF was with that thing in the hospital basement??? That just annoyed the heck out of me, even with turning the difficulty right down. I think that was put in there just to irritate everyone even more.

The characters and the story direction was DUMB AND **** INSULTING! I’m cool with whatever sexual interests, gender ect but come on you kill JOEL from the start!? Then we start playing as the antagonist!? Flashbacks!? This whole take of a sequel just went out the **** door! It’s a joke! The direction of this game went the other way and this is what we been waiting for 7 years? Shame. It’s like Neil Druckman just pulled a Star Wars vibe. What a way to bring the fun out of us rather. I wonder what Part 3 is gonna be because I honestly have no faith in the next entry. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is fantastic, both graphics and story wise. Getting to play as Abby was a shock, but as you learn her story, you can see why she kills Joel, and eventually why she doesn’t kill Ellie.

To see the depravity of the TLOA2 world is an incredible experience. Balanced with the love many of the characters have for each other, you can really fear for Ellie’s life, and Abby’s.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
