    I think it's an excellent game! I have one or two points of criticism about moral questions in the story, which in my opinion, despite the underlining of the importance of these questions, are not sufficiently addressed. All in all I can say that I find this part better than the first one. Especially because of the much more complex story.

    Buen juego para mí, no excelente como el primero pero me dejó satisfecho con la jugabilidad, la historia si me gustó aunque hubo cosas que no me parecieron pero bueno desde el primer juego te das cuenta que The last of us es un juego con historia cruda puede morir cualquier personaje de la peor manera posible así sea tu favorito o alguno de menor importancia a mí me encantó

I was simply looking forward to this game in a surreal way, and I understand the fans' anger over Joel's premature death, and I know how it hurt to see the scene of his death. And play with Abby at first it is also extremely painful and sad. But only because of this can we realize that the game is actually a plot of consequences, not just revenge. We realized that everthing that Abby do, and Ellie do, in a unstoppable search to compensate for death is in vain, and it was useless, both lost everything, their friends, their family, just to feel the pleasure of "getting revenge".The way that the game show us that slowly, is awesome and unbelievable, I can say easily that's one of the best games of the generation, and I fell a lot of emotions do from beginning to end. The game demonstrates that in an apocalyptic world, there is no happiness, and good things are minimal. Joel's death was painful, but like so many others, sudden and frightening, in a world of those, there is no heroic death, good or just, everything happens on the basis of survival, nobody is hero, and nobody are bad. Dejando esto de lado los personajes, tanto principales como secundarios estan muy bien desarrollados en como va tomando curso la trama del juego. The last of Us part ll tiene mucho para ofrecer al jugador, y no deja nada que invidiar a su predecesor, tanto en jugabilidad, ni en historia y calidad de los graficos(en los detalles que le pusieron a todo el juego, a los personajes e infectados) una maravilla¡¡. Cada entrega tiene y tuvo su propia historia..y las dos me encantaron. Nos enseña que en nuestras decisiones siempre hay y habra consecuencias que pueden tener un giro inesperado en nuestras vidas y este juego lo representa muy bien, dando a entender que somos humanos y nadie tiene la vida comprada. The story does have some good moments (most in the first couple of hours), but after that it becomes clichéd with a mixed bag of dialog. The game desperately wants to preach the message ‘revenge is bad’ but it does so by forcing characters (and often the player) to do inexplicably bad things, then scolds you for what the game has either done or forced you to do. With very little choice for the player, why should I take ownership of the message? Just cheap, clumsy writing. In summary, the technical achievements of this game are wasted on what just seems like brutality porn with a poor story that has neither respect for It’s predecessor nor its characters. Shocking for the sake of being shocking and ultimately very disappointing for something I’ve waited seven years for.… Expand

La historia me parece una muy buena continuación de la primer parte, se crea una historia realmente fascinante al matar a Joel. Nos hacen viajar con un sentimiento de odio en todo el juego, teniendo sed de venganza brutal. Las historias en momentos se pierden, llega a ser un poco fastidioso tanto gameplay. Los gráficos son geniales, las voces, la traducción, todo está genial. En estos tiempos todo en la generación de cristal les afecta, si es blanco, si es negro, si es homosexual, todo molesta.     Masterpiece. I disagree with all the “this story stinks” i was engages the entire time. I’m not gonna post spoilers but i loved playing as Abby. It shows the”bad guys” do what they do for a reason. And in her eyes Joel and Ellie were the “bag guys” it’s a cool angel that humanizes the people your fighting and makes u see why the are how they are. I highly highly recommend it.

Quizás si esa muerte hubiese tenido la altura que se merecía tantos fan no estarían tan enojados y dando tan baja puntuación. Si que hay partes que se siente como relleno más allá de tener un poco de ambiente inclusivo donde no había necesidad y podía haber una forma mejor de conecte la historia. Peor su jugabilidad, sus escenarios la forma de conectar con la guitarra por medio del mando fue uno de los detalles que más me llamó la atención. En definitiva hay que jugarlo completo para realmente tomar partida y no dejarse guiar por los comentario, tanto malos como buenos. El final, ese que también tanto critican se me hizo un buen broche final… Expand

    I like both games and the story. the grafics are great, we have a game that contais like 0 bugs or needet 10x patches before the game could be played!.     This is not a feel good game. It takes multiple risks story telling wise which pay off as a whole. It works perfectly as a continuation of the first game while capitalising on the potential of various plot points in a very imaginative way. The gameplay is also updated and even though it remains faithful to the concept of a preset outcome provides the player with different ways to achieve said result. I would never believe that Abby would end up being such a favorite character when I first started playing the game. And at the same time I was more than happy to explore the less than ideal sides of Ellie’s character. Will definitely play it again so that apart of the story I can explore the resource management aspect of the game which is an important part of the gameplay even though admittedly overshadowed by the story part and the need to see what happens next… Expand

    I know Joel's death wasn't good intro for game .
    But we need it.
    Because he was to old . Before the virus he was around 31-32 after Sarah's death scene. The game said 20 years later. And part 2 is 4 years after part 1. Gamplay was amazing you can't get tired of it. It's always show new things.
    But some parts of game was to long for example. Abbys part was little to long

Aside from the brutal death of Joel and an unsatisfying ending, I seriously loved the Last of Us Part 2, although I would say that this should be the last installment for the franchise, or at the very least, Ellie and Joels' arc has been put to a close. What I think Naughty Dog should do is make use of the incredible world in The Last of Us and focus on making a story on a different group of survivors.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the most disappointing game I have ever played. Never did I think the studio behind Uncharted 2, my favorite game of all time, would create this.

    Don't get me wrong, the gameplay and graphics are fine, I also don't have a problem with Ellie and her girlfriend, but it's the story that got people to buy TLOU 1. If you're announcing a sequel to that, the story better be good. But instead, we got this. This absolute trainwreck of a story. I honestly thought the leaks weren't true, but they were. Joel actually gets his head caved in by Abby. Although she is not trans, she is just a girl. But then later ND paints Abby as a good person after this. We are forced to play as her multiple times and Niel Druckmann himself mocaps a character named Owen and spits on Joel's corpse after he dies. Owen also has sex with Abby in a later scene, which is one of the most disturbing scenes in all of media. They basically were saying, ''We made you wait 7 years to see the continuation of Joel's story only to kill him in the first 2 hours.''

    What's even worse is that Ellie goes on and on about revenge and kills every single one of Abby's comrades, hell even mauls dogs with naily clubs, but spares Abby because ''revenge is wrong''. She killed pregnant women, mauled dogs to death, murdered God knows how many seraphites and kills everyone related to Joel's death, but not the killer. She, even after getting her fingers bitten off by Abby, decided to spare her, when Ellie could drown her.

    And yes, they are setting up a sequel with Abby as the protag.

    The few Joel and Ellie scenes in this game are the best part about it. Especially the birthday scene. But the way Joel was killed off pisses me off. I would have been fine with him going out like John Marston or old man Logan, instead he got killed like an insect. This game is a slap in the face for not just TLOU, but Naughty Dog in general.    … Expand

I would have rated the game as a 3 or 4 out of 10 if it just ended around 12 hours in, but it forces you to switch roles and you have to play an additional 10-12 hours as the antagonist that most people don't care about or want to play as. Los paisajes y modelado es bello que más se puede decir. Los personajes, son mal desarrollados, no se empatiza con ellos o alEl juego como tal no es malo, pero tampoco es una obra maestra, la jugabilidad es muy similar al anterior mejoraron algunas cosas, pero los saltos, para que los metieron si sólo se pueden usar cuando ellos quieren y no donde uno quiera, además de no ser muy preciso. Los paisajes y modelado es bello que más se puede decir. Los personajes, son mal desarrollados, no se empatiza con ellos o al menos a mi me paso eso, no sentí emoción alguna en la mayoría de los casos, solo eventos a realizar con ellos. La historia no me agrado, los cortes para moverse en la historia fueron incómodos, quitan la emoción de algunas momentos antes que fueron frenéticos, la historia no la sentí tan bien contada y me pareció más una novela que se pudo contar sin necesidad de los infectados por lo que sentí que perdió la idea de ser que dio el juego anterior. The story can even go in such a way that the you thought the main character is really going to die. But you know that won't happen, there will be a plot twist to save the character. And it happens indeed.

    In this game, the main character is really killed. I like it, because finally the main character can die. It's boring to always see the main character pull a plot twist to survive. I like to see something new and bold, which this Naughty Dog did.

    And it isn't about just blind revenge of Ellie against Abby. You get to see from Abby's perspective and understand why she kills Joel. You won't hate Abby so much after understanding things from her point of view.

    Ask yourself. If you hate Abby because she kills off Joel, who is like the godfather of Ellie, but don't hate Joel for killing off Abby's father. Aren't you a hypocrite?    … Expand

Trying to combat all the nonsense on here and Metacritic really needs to find a way to prove you have finished or at least played most of a game before being able to leave a review.     I was and am a massive fan of part 1. The story in part 2 was very original, unpredictable and took a lot of risks which I like personally. There is a lot of deep psychology involved. The graphics and gameplay are some of the best in any game ever. Damn near perfect game, I didn't want it to end.

    A great sequel, but not for everyone, given the brave and “philosophical” plot development. Still, the game is impressive and entertaining during all the playthroug, both in gameplay and narration; the right path that story-driven videogames should follow.

Um dos melhores jogos que já joguei nesta geração com toda certeza.Dou essa nota por causa do seu gameplay e seu gráfico que está impecável, inteligência artificial dos inimigos dispensa comentários.Sobre o enredo,de uma nota geral eu dou 9.0,pois teve alguns furos que acho que poderiam ter sido resolvidos de forma mais "limpa",a morte do Joel poderia ser melhor, não no quesito de "ter uma morte digna" apesar de que estamos falando da morte em um mundo que está completamente destruído e isso não acaba de uma forma boa,sobre a "vilã" Abby eu confesso que o jogo me impactou com ódio por ela no começo e isso se intensifica no enredo da Ellie caçando a WLF.Logo o jogo nos colocar na pele de Abby me causou desconforto e raiva mas dei uma segunda chance e logo quando o enredo se desenrolava criei uma certa empatia pela personagem me causando por geral confusão e incerteza pelo clímax entre as duas personagens.A batalha entre as duas personagens foi muito impactante e no fim gerou alívio e decepção.o enredo se encerra bem deixando claro que não existe vilão/herói nessa história, apenas pessoas que estão tentando sobreviver e largar seus fantasmas do passado.vingança é um ciclo sem fim e é oq estamos fadados ao sofrimento.concerteza esse jogo fechou com chave de ouro a 8° geração de videogames e como não é assim que vemos enredos bem construídos e com gameplay assustador merece com toda certeza o G.O.T.Y. 2020 ;)… Expand

    Решил взять свою первую платину в этой игре, где то на 10 часу игры, было ощущение что на меня вылили ведро помоев. Сделал все ачивки, надеялся что хоть в конце будет что то стоящее, в итоге полный отстой. После титров ничего нет.

    The game is the the logical continuation of the first part. It doesn't show you the story, it makes you feel it. They take the decision of Joel in part 1 and develop consequences that are painfully realistic in this world.
    They show Joel as what he is, a flawed, traumatized human that made a controversial decision and is full of love, which makes you love him even more than after part 1.     It's a highly emotional game, you'll feel annoyed, angry, sad and disgusted and if you care for Ellie and Joel, you will feel so bad and soooo good.
    You could give a 9/10 because it's long, like really long and it makes you feel it, but they want you to feel like this because the characters feel like it, too. The Story need you to feel like this.
    It's truly amazing, I never played a game like this before. .... I wrote an essay about it, not because I had to, because I needed to deal with my emotions and thoughts! I highly recommend everyone to play and experience it .    … Expand

    Excellent game play, story is stellar, don't listen to the blind hatred of a bunch of sour people. They took chances and to me those chances paid off. Highly recommend, just as good as the first.

    I have no idea where these incredibly negative reviews are coming from, this is an outstanding sequel.It's the game they absolutely had to make and the story they had to tell and I'm so glad they had the freedom to tell it, here's hoping there's a Part III!

    This game capitalises on everything that was good about number one and adds so much on top. Makes you feel emotions for characters that you initially hate. People hating on this game are generally homophobic, transphobic or just can’t deal with deaths on main characters in video games (which to me are very necessary deaths as it adds to the realism; your favourite people irl aren’t just going to survive just because you like them). It is terrifying, beautiful, the gameplay is amazing, the AI is ridiculously clever. I loved Abby and Lev’s relationship, the ending was perfect and left me very satisfied but also hoping for more stories in this universe. Naughty dog really have outdone themselves with this game and I truly hope they ignore what most backwards people are saying about it.    … Expand

    This game is amazing!! I’ve played the first one over 10 times and even though the sequel may not be what you expect, I think it’s just as good as the first if not better. It also teaches some important lessons. Definitely a must play!

Still, if you enjoyed the stealth, crafting, combat mechanics and gunplay of the first...thereAbsolutely sublime game. It is a natural extension of what was started in the 1st game, if one can simply detach from unreasonable expectations garnered in everyone's love for Ellie and Joel's character. At the end of TLOU, Joel's decision plays out as a heart-wrenching one of a loving father figure. But only in as such as we get the narrowest of keyhole views into that decision. TLOU 2 allow the full consequences of that decision to bloom. And as heartfelt/heart-wrenching as that decision was....it was also a devastating decision....a selfish tribal-driven decision (understandable, tho! Saying this as a father of 2 girls myself) which breeds and weaves the ugliness of tribalism into the brutal story of TLOU2. Looking back from as detached a perspective as I can muster, the story is true to the heart of TLOU. Druckmann and co must have known he/they would be harshly criticized for their decision to tell that story. Kudos to you, good sir. Brave choice!… Expand

[Eng] As a TLOU and Left Behind fan, I expected this game for more than 2 years, I love the way they improve the AI of enemies (humans and zombies) and how your character (Ellie) is way more different than Joel in the way she fights and moves.
    The world is more "open" so you can go trhough it in your own way and it has some puzzles like in the "Uncharted" series BUT they make you (force you, actually) play for more than 10 hours with a character you don't give a **** about (Abby) and bro... that's not cool at all, I mean, I could stand her backstory so I can understand why she killed Joel but her "side quests" sould've stayed like that, optionals, I did not wanted to help her new friends, not even try to kill Ellie, I mean, dude... I LOVE ELLIE.

    [ESP] Como fan de TLOU y Left Behind, esperé este juego por más de 2 años... Amé la forma en la que mejoraron la inteligencia artifical de los enemigos (humanos y zombies) y como tu personaje (ahora Ellie) es muy diferente al de Joel, se nota en la forma en cómo se mueve (más sigilo y velocidad) y en la forma que pelea (menos fuerza).
    El mundo lo hicieron un poco más "abierto", así que puedes ir por él a tu ritmo y tiene algunos acertijos estilo "Uncharted".
    Todo muy bonito hasta aquí PERO... lo que no está chido es que te hacen jugar por más de 10 hrs con un personaje que no te importa en lo absoluto (Abby), teniendo que hacer "misiones secundarias" como ayudar a sus "nuevos amigos" los cuales tampoco te importan... esas misiones deben quedar así, secundarias (opcionales) como en la gran mayoría de juegos y no forzarnos a realizarlas... en fin, puedo soportar y entender el pasado de Abby que nos hacen jugar para saber las razones por las cuales mata a Joel, pero todo lo demás simplemente innecesario.    … Expand

It is a sad and tragic story for sure, with some heartwarming and touching moments. Yes, I get it, this is not how most of the players imagined a sequel, but we all have to agree on this and admit it: this is 'The Last of Us' way, you can't get a truly happy ending, this world is not about that. Also this is not about fan service. Yes it is an emotional rollercoaster, I am amazed how I hated someone at the beginning and how I loved the same character at the end, how my opinion changed time to time in a lot of ways. I love it.     More of a solid 9 really but to counter all those incredible sad BS reviews. I know, I know, opinions but no way in hell is this game a zero. Graphics are great as expected but so is the story. An emotional rollercoaster with some nice details to help elevate the characters to new highs.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
