    So far, this is the best game ive ever had the lucky to play, it made me happy, sad, mad, it had everything, action, adventure, a history wich is pure art. I really hope to see more the last of us games in the future, its such a big world, and the writters are incredible, at last, i only want to say thank you, thank you naughtydog, thanks for all the feelings i had while playing this game.

    Eu não tenho palavras pra esse jogo. É um dos melhores jogos que já joguei, com uma das melhores dublagem. Com esse jogo eu fiquei triste, fiquei feliz, fiquei com medo, fiquei com raiva, até chorei. Eu recomendo, por mim esse jogo é o jogo do ano!!, Parabéns pelo trabalho Naughty Dog e não sei como as pessoas falam mal desse jogo.

    This game is a masterpiece that has taken the narrative-based games to a new level. If you don't see everything as binary good/bad and you play until the very end you might end up really appreciating it.
    The graphics are top-notch with insane attention to detail, as expected from Naughty Dog at this point.
    The mechanics are relatively simple, resembling the core mechanics from Part One    This game is a masterpiece that has taken the narrative-based games to a new level. If you don't see everything as binary good/bad and you play until the very end you might end up really appreciating it.

    This game is an absolute masterpiece. Even better than the first. Naughty Dog's craftsmanship is only rivaled by Rockstar, and this is their best game yet. So obvious from their reviews that most people who "hate" this game didn't even play it. If you don't like what happens in the story, fine, but the story is very well written and acted.     Great job Neil **** you destroyed what once was a masterpiece, i recommend that you don't waste your time and money on this

I was also a bit sceptical when the game got reviewbombed, but I couldn’t not play the game considering the first remains my favourite game of all time and holds a strong place in my heart. Despite a few minor flaws which could’ve been fixed and made the game a 10, for example the placement of some events and the character development of some characters it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and having just finished the game I’m so eager to play again and get all the trophies For all last of us fans I would highly recommend playing this brilliant game if you haven’t already, although I can’t promise you’ll enjoy it as much as me you’ll definitely be satisfied as you get to witness the continuation of Joel and Ellie’s paths, and the introduction of some new characters. recommend p… Expand

I'm going to spell it out nice and easy, this game is a perfect example of character assassination, where both Ellie and Joel's characters are mistreated and do things they wouldn't do logically (as per their first game development and even per some of this games development). Neil Druckman just hated the character of Joel and wanted to see him humiliated and dead.… Expand

    Don't listen to the haters. Definitely one of the best, if not THE best game ever made. That's subjective though. What's not subjective is that it's definitely the most inclusive and accessible game ever made. And I think that's excellent! I also thought the story was excellent.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I dislike the Last of Us Part 2 because, while the graphics are gorgeous and for the most part the gameplay is fun, the story lacks meaning. And feels pointless in the end. I played hoping to kill Abby, and when Ellie left that behind to go live her life with Dina I was okay with it, because that’s understandable. However when Ellie left Dina and her son behind, and then didn’t kill Abby I was incredibly confused. She left her life behind, for no reason. Naughty Dog completed changed characters like Joel and Tommy, making them more ‘friendly’. There’s a sex scene which nobody asked for and now all people are asking for is bleach, to bathe their eyeballs in. Overall the game is an extremely upsetting sequel to The Last of Us.… Expand

A parer mio, gli autori hanno rovinato Joel, devastato psicologicamente e fisicamente Ellie, ridicolizzato Tommy e tanto altro! Incredibile. Di fatto, gli eventi del secondo capitolo, potevano essere compresi, accettati e discussi in altro modo, se questo fosse stato un gioco a se stante o magari, se la trama fosse stata diversa o sviluppata in modo da dare al giocatore una scelta multipla e non far vivere ""passivamente"" una narrazione irritante e, per certi versi, deludente.     Terrible game, the plot is really bad. However, the game looks really good and the detail level is amazing. Unfortunately this is not enough to make this a good game. Not worth it.

    A visual masterpiece and solid combat mechanics. It's sad to say this as a big fan of the first one, but plot was disappointing. One of the brilliant things a game can do is capture you emotionally. The developers accomplished this, but disappointment is all i I felt by the end. I am not sure what the goal is by destroying or twisting what you loved about the first installment...

    The story is amazing. Yes, it‘s not normal but it goes beyond your skin. I don’t give it 10 points because the battles are sometimes repetitive but in general the gameplay feels amazing. The graphics are outstanding for a ps game.

    A bad game with nonsensical writing and a story that ruins every aspect of beloved characters, while simultaneously bringing in new main characters no one cares about. A spit in the face for fans of the first game, only saved by it's next-gen graphics and fun gameplay.

    I've never played a game that made me feel so much after completing the entire experience. Not all of those feelings were good, and often times it was hard to progress because of emotionally difficult decisions or sheer terror because of the threat of infected. At the end of it all however, it was was well worth it.     Graphic is awesome, so does the soundtrack. Gameplay is good, it just too long and a little bit boring. Story is fine, but the way it deliver maybe cause some arguements. The story is also too concentrate on Abby. I wish the story could longer cause i feeel it still not satisfy my expectation.

Скажу вам одну легендарную фразу от одного мудрого человека: "Насилие порождает насилие, и за смерть, платят, смертью, те кто не испытывает сомнения, и не знает раскаяние, никогда не выберутся из этого круга" Вот эта фраза идеально описывает сюжет второй части The Last of Us 2. Пройдите игру пару раз и может вы поймете смысл сюжета, ибо мы все наблюдатели этой тяжелой истории мести, насилия, крови. И может тогда задумаетесь, и поймете, что сюжет не такой уж и ужасный, да не спорю, есть немного недочётов в нём, но если на все закрыть глаза, и проникнуться этой истории самому, то тогда вы поймете, что это настоящий шедевр! Что насчёт ЛГБТ повестки, да, безусловно в игре она есть, но она на сюжет никаким образом не влияет, да и от силы её тут 10-15 минут не более, конечно мне не хотелось что бы эта повестка в дальнейших проектах Naughty Dog развивалась больше, но будем надеется на это, я лично против всей этой фигни, но отношусь я к этому крайне нейтрально. Но повторюсь, из за этой повестки хейтить игру, это очень глупо и нелепо, ибо на сюжет она НИКАК не повлияла! Я лично на это все закрыл глаза, и просто наслаждался игрой! I enjoyed the music and the game leaves plenty of optional collectibles/letters/pictures etc that you can rummage for to help immerse yourself in the game    I loved this game... until I didn't.

    Here is the part where I explain why the heck I gave the game such a low score when it has all of this going for it.

    The thing about Metacritic User Reviews is that they are, in general, based on the user's overall experience with the game. Many serious critics will grade different sections of a game individually and then average them out, but we aren't getting paid, we can just say how we "felt" about a game. Just like a game doesn't have to be absolutely flawless to be given a 10, a low score doesn't necessarily mean the game was an unplayable mess either.

    Which brings me to the story. **** I will try to avoid major spoilers, but obviously you will pick up a bit here or there so this is a heads up*****

    For the first half of the game you play as Ellie, who is trying to get revenge on a group of people who have wronged her. Like in the first game, you are typically working with an AI companion (there are a couple who join her at various points). On the whole this worked well. The characters and dialogue were pretty interesting and you had a clear goal to work towards while you mow down zombies and bandits etc.

    Just as you are nearing the end of your journey, and the payoff you had been building towards, the game pulls the rug out from under you and makes a complete U-turn.

    Suddenly the clock is rolled back to the beginning, but this time you are Abby, a member of a rebel group called the WLF, and one of the antagonists Ellie is after. This change-up lets you see the story from the "bad-guys" perspective, helping you understand what was going on behind the scenes while you were playing as Ellie. It also goes on for WAY. TOO. LONG.

    I feel like the developers gambled a bit here. How well the game lands for you seems to depend almost entirely upon how you feel about Abby, because like it or not, you are stuck with her for half the game. Unfortunately for me - I did not.

    Abby is a supremely unlikable character to start, and the game doesn't really evolve her character enough to get over it. Sure her goals are understandable, but that doesn't make her intriguing, it just makes her not crazy. Billed as her group's "top killer" she lives up to that rep throughout her arc, murdering just about anything she comes across and callously chuckling to herself at the misfortune of others when she reads through those depressing collectible notes left behind by unfortunate zombie victims.

    Eventually Abby does something nice for someone, out of guilt, but it really isn't nearly enough to wipe away the awfulness she started with and certainly wasn't enough to get me on her side over Ellie, who we've spent 1.5 games (plus DLC!) getting to know.

    The end result is a whole half of a rather long game that is an absolute slog to get through. My desperate need for closure kept me playing to finally see the ending the game had been holding hostage on me, but I wasn't enjoying myself.

    I love story driven games and I enjoy when they make me "feel" things. I don't believe games need to be happy all the time to be a good story. My issue was, I wasn't really feeling much at all besides boredom. I just wanted Abby's part to be over. If there had been a button prompt that gave me the option of skipping the gameplay entirely to just zip through Abby's cut-scenes I would have taken it. The game literally put me to sleep at one point, in the middle of the day, and it was such a stark contrast to the first half of the game, where I didn't want to put my controller down to stop the ride.

    Ultimately this is why I ranked it so low. This game made me miserable for roughly 20 hours to the point where I was mostly playing out of stubbornness. What good are those wonderful graphics, the work and detail put in, if in the end, I'd rather NOT be playing the game?

    This doesn't mean You personally won't like the game, but I certainly can't recommend it.    … Expand

But the plot is absolute Bull crap. Ellie's whole revenge story makes no sense and the way they killed joel off within 2 hours of the game is just stupid, wrong and horrible writting. First, The characters. Ellie acts like the freaking female version of sasuke uchiha throughout the whole game and it doesnt make anyone want to play as her. Dina doesnt even need to be in the story its just cringey teen love. Jesse was a decent character just to get freaking shot in the head 2 seconds within walking through a door. Tommy is Just.. ugh.. Joel doesnt even act like joel. After years of experience, you'd expect him to be smart enough to not trust strangers, especially in this apocalyptic world. Speaking of apocalyptic world, The whole god damn story is all about Ellie getting revenge on the people that killed joel, Massacring All Wlf, And Scars that stand in her way. So the infected play no god damn role in this game. The fights are useless and not fun at all. Okay back to the characters. Abby, The she hulk herself. They have the audacity to make us play as one of the people that killed our most beloved character, thinking that we'd sympathize for her. No, We wont.
    All the other people are just nobodies that we dont care about. Okay now lets get into depth here.
    Yes, i get what they tried to do, A person we do not know kills one of our beloved characters because of what he did in the past and she wanted revenge. That was a semi good idea. But the WAY they did it was absolute Dog doodoo. The pacing is horrible, the characters are not likeable, the gameplay is repetitive, And its just downright BAD. We lived for 7 years knowing that ellie and joel has always been the good ones (Not good people, but the people that we know and love) But in this game they try to FORCE you to hate them, and sympathize for Abby cause of what joel did. That just isnt smart at all.    … Expand

    The stealth aspect of the game and the A.I. of the enemies remain still very well implemented. This leads to some very interesting battles and epic fights. Most of the times intelligent and tactical planning is what’s required, sometimes you just need blazing guns and every resource you can find to survive. Item crafting possibilities have been expanded to some degree. Some new enemy types have been introduced.

    While playing the game, I did experience doubt and aversion at times about the directions the story pushed me in as a player. That being said, in the end it all made sense. At the end of my first playthrough, I understood what the writers were pointing out to and what insights they meant to provide me. Taking such bold moves and choices in the storyline to implicitely deliver the messages (eg. revenge will get you nowhere) deserves credit. Especially since the game’s story works as a mirror to you as a player. It challenges your own feelings and dispositions. I therefore think the storywriting is actually quite solid. Just like the first game the story delivers an emotional experience and at times really pulls you into it. In comparison to the first game, the story arch is a bit less straightforward and deliberately split up into two distinctive parts and timelines. Therefore it can be a bit more confusing than the first game.

    Graphics are simply stunning and pushing the ps4 to its limits. Sound design is brilliant. Especially when playing using a headphone, new levels of sound details can be found.

    Finally the designers have put lots of effort in accessibility of the game for people with visual- or other physical impairments.

    Of course the games also has some flaws: some of the fights can become a bit tedious and repetetive, especially towards the end. Also, I think the game could have been a bit shorter. Yes I mean that, 20-25 hours max would have been just as fine. On some occasions there were some dialogues that were either unnecessary or took a strange turn. At some points characters popped up or left quite suddenly with no good or believable explanation.

    All in all I honestly think this game deserve a very solid 8 at least. Pushing it to a 9 here to compensate somewhat for the unfair review bomb, mainly based on leaked footage and people    … Expand

    Great graphics, amazing character-environment interaction, good story, unlike most in the sense that there is no "real" villian only a bunch of selfish humans which is basically real life. Very controversial story but in a good way cause it gets you thinking about different social structures, at least it got me thinking. Also lots of death so that might be a deal breaker.

    I can't deny that I was moved by this game. It is brilliant in its use of narrative perspective that can only be done in gaming. And I can't deny that ND's got some BALLS in what they did. And the environment is some of the best graphics I've seen in my life so far. The acting is superb. By the end, I was definitely shook.     The realest game of my generation. I felt very connected to the character development and the environment of the last of us. The plot covers all 360 degrees of what I long for in any well written story: emotion. The gameplay is unparalleled. The soundtrack and graphics are fire. TLOU1 was one of my favorite narrative games of all-time and while I felt it should stand alone on its own without any sequels, I was excited to have another outing in that world with those characters. Unfortunately, that wasn't the game we got. The promotional material for it was misleading as were most of the articles about it. This game is 90% about unrelated characters who had no part in the story until they were tossed in, here. The game mechanics have no noticable improvement over the first game, nearly a decade ago. The writing hinges on "OOH, I"M SUCH AN AUTERE -- YOU DID ALL THOSE TERRIBLE THINGS IN THE FIRST GAME, DONT YOU FEEL LIKE A BAD PERSON?". I mean. No. As a player, I have no agency in TLOU. Those are all narrative decisions made by the writing team. They're the ones who chose to do terrible things and indulge in torture porn. Also, saving the life of a child who was given no say in their future is hardly a "grey area", even though Druckman (a man who clearly thinks a child belongs to the sate first and the parents second) implies that the choice is a dirty one which has inherent guilt, leading to the deserved ending of that character.

    Everything about this game was terrible, except the voice acting, music, and some of the graphics. But the meat of the game itself and everything surrounding it was just a huge let-down. I do hope that Druckman is finally called upon by Hollywood to go make movies. . . and never returns to video games.    … Expand

    Voice Acting 10/10 - As you expect from Naughty Dog, always deliver a perfect voice acting, all voice talents did an amazing job here.

    Soundtrack - 10/10 - Music which gets you into the atmosphere perfectly.

    Gameplay - 8/10 - Enjoyable, a bit improved from the previous game, but gets repetitive after about 70% of the game.

    Story - 3/10 - Well, it is bad. Really really bad. Not only it is not interesting, especially the second half of the game, some of the character's choices which affect the story, does not make to much sense.

    The one thing I could have done without is the companions. At best the help out on the rare occasion but mostly they just sit around and waste the good cover spots. Once they even pushed me out of cover in front of a very angry looking fella.

    Immersive ambiance, engaging game-play, solid story (though at some points questionable).
    Game definitely deserves a recommendation as an interactive piece of art, and as a high quality thriller.

    This game is a masterpiece of storytelling and technical development. It pushes the medium to new heights, making other games look antiquated by comparison. Don't listen to all the negative reviews, they are mostly from from Xbox owners who are jealous they don't get exclusives of this quality. If they hated it so much why did they buy it?     I was blown away by TLOUS 1 back in a day, the graphics were the best for ps3, the story was deep and it made all sense. The last mission at the hospital was very very hard when you realize that everything was for nothing.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wish this game didn’t exist. I wish this game never existed. You end up killing everyone and even Abby killed people she grew up with. And then Ellie let’s Abby live? Let’s not forget Abby would not let Joel even bleed out and then tortured Joel. Joel never tortured abbys dad. Abbys dad sentenced Ellie to death, and didn’t even let Ellie tell Joel goodbye. Or make amends with the end of her own life. Tommy should have killed Abby at least on Catalina island. I believe your suppose to understand abbys side, which I never did. Lev and yara are the only good new additions to the cast. But not enough to humanize Abby. It fails on all accounts as a story. Plus it needs the clickers and forgets about the infection. It’s has very little after thought. It’s sad because the production is good but the the story lost the plot. I was not soiled by the internet but I wish I was bc I would not have played this game.… Expand

    Beautiful game with an impactful story about the cost of revenge. Clearly so many of these 0 reviews miss the true moral of the story, which is that revenge is toxic and if you succumb to the desire then you will lose who you are. Brilliant and powerful ending.

    Abby is debuted in a brutal hateful way. The game over time proceeds to asks the player to understand, to walk a mile in another’s shoes and see everyone has a personal struggle. If it wasn’t Abbys story, it could have been any one related to the other thousands of people massacres by Joel in part one.

    This game isn’t perfect, but it tries something new and daring for a game of this caliber. It’s a shame the internet hate mob couldn’t get past the fact that there is lgbtq representation and a woman with large muscles. A compelling and challenging story,

    Next gen graphics on current gen system,

    Very good game. In all aspects. Graphics, sound, fight, story(i have some questions to story, but, its was very very interesting) only one minus - i dont know how to play videogames now, after The Last of us 2 all current games seem poor

    Good graphics and sound but terrible terrible story/plot development, the writers should be fired, such a terrible game, it's a shame that naughty dog could've ruined such a hyped game with such dumb writing, it's like first out of uni writers... what a joke honestly.

    They are the most breath taking graphics to come out of the current Gen Consoles, period. From close up details to explanding the wilderness, every level is handcrafted to look like a masterpiece that shouldnt be possible on the console. The fact that they learned how to get rid of loading for the most part is a testament to their hard work & knowledge of the system. Nothing looks like a a repeating texture. All buildings & wilderness looks unique. The scale of each building, & environment is a site to behold & helps provide the illusion of really being there in the world. Every shot is cinematically done. The lighting is mouthwatering. The models are incredibly detailed. The animations are realistic & gritty & often make one feel they're watching a movie. The particle effects for water during a rain storm, thunder storm, a river, lake with air bubbles as you jump into it, ocean as you try not to drown is amazing!
    Sound:
    Every weapon action & firing, rain as it hits each object whether your inside a building or not, underwater, step on a piece of glass, people holding a conversation, all was done at AAA movie quality. Music hits when needed. It's basically an audiophiles wet dream. The fact that you can crack a safe by sound alone if you don't know the combination is an fantastic touch I didn't know I wanted. Just going through the game & turning something like a person whistling into one of the most terrifying sounds to hear, into you terrifying the whistlers into speaking is fantastic.
    Gameplay:(spoilers)
    It's a technical leap from the first game. More fluid movement, added ability to jump, new melee weapons & guns with the ability to upgrade them is fun. You can also upgrade yourself to help provide an edge to specialize in the play style you enjoy. Everything for the most part is great - the AI partner's intelligence. They stupidly decide to get right behind you when they've been 20 paces from you the entire fight! Switching between time/characters can negatively effect the games fun factor. If you poorly decide to cut from the MC to bad guy to show their motivations when they might kill the MC, you don't care about what their motives are. It was hours into the bad guy's gameplay before I enjoyed anything. I questioned why I was still playing. Half the game was ruined because I couldn't move on not knowing if 2 characters were killed or not? I kept letting Abby die hoping to get back to Ellie. Anytime I took a picture of something impressive in the game despite being annoyed, I Hid Abby out of all pictures. The Bridge scene to go to a hospital & how high up they were to reach another building, was the first time I thought “Wow. Wouldn't be me.” Then I thought about making her jump to commit suicide. What makes this worst, is I don't just play through a game, but look around at every detail I can & sometimes see if the world breaks. This adds hours to my game. I might spend an hr staring at an alley & admiring the work that went into it. So for me, the game felt way too long, seeing how I was playing a character I hated.
    Story: (Spoilers)
    I understood why Abby's actions were done, but it doesn't mean I accepted it. The fact that Joel went out without having an epic fight & just took it VS Tommy's fight where he went into the ocean like a Boss? That is what I expected for Joel! It could have been more acceptable & believable. It rang hallow. Joel didn't get a great final chapter, but went out choking on a pretzel on the john. He went out like a chump. Every part with Abby until I knew Ellie & Tommy were alive was an annoyance. I didn't know if the kid was male or female. The said he, but later he was to be some old person's wife? The “boy” was played by an actress, so it was all kinds of confusing.
    The bouncing back & forth/time/place/who, I found more annoying than a little bit. Then the dream sequences were pointless. Again, anything as Abby I felt was a waste of time until Ellie & Tommy's fate were clear. Abby was a filler section I didn't want/ask for. If Neil had shown that they survived the encounter, then switched over to Abby & gave us her backstory. It would have made it possible to enjoy the sections containing her. By the end of the game, I just felt frustration. All sides didn't know what they were fighting for. All were hypocrites. The world was burning with anger.
    It's a mixed bag. Not gameplay wise. That was dang near perfect.The story angered me. Parts needed better execution. Ellie's immunity didn't count for anything.Thinking about what i played, It's an emotional rollercoaster filled with people making bad decisions and living with them. Dina and Jesse were forgettable & didnt make sense. Abby wasn't likeable. The whole game was how Ellie is bad, Abby good, but Abby wasnt. No talk about regrets killing Joel after he saved her life. I paid for the game. I'd recommend getting it on sale if yr on the fence.    … Expand

    The Last of Us 2 é uma experiência incrível. A morte do Joel incomodou muitos jogadores, inclusive a mim. Entretanto, se olharmos a história pelo outro lado, onde Joel, no primeiro jogo, eliminou por completo a possibilidade de criação de uma “cura”, ele realmente fez grandes inimigos. TLOU2 entrega uma história dramática e muito emocionante. Muita coisa mudou do primeiro jogo pra o segundo. As comunidades, criações, entre outras coisas evoluíram. É muito bacana observar como isso foi mostrado no jogo.

    Graficamente o jogo arrebenta. O mundo “pós apocalíptico” continua muito bem representado. Inclusive a vegetação cresceu e a flora tomou cidades deixando os cenários lindos. Enfim, é um jogo completo com uma experiência incrível, assim como o primeiro, que deve ser jogado por todos aqueles que presam por um game de enredo e conteúdo artistico único.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
