    Incredible game and a worthy sequel.

    Yes parts of the story were a bit annoying and I found myself skipping some cutscenes because I just don't care that much about some of the new characters, but the overall gameplay and core storyline is excellent.     Often, gamers look for idealistic alternative realities in games. It is how we alleviate the suffering we face in real life with hopeful poetic justice.
    Naughty Dog reversed that process in this game, this is exactly why many people hated it, understandably. Let's just say this is a masterpiece of a game that was so raw and real, it was hard to digest by many who tend to escape accepting    Often, gamers look for idealistic alternative realities in games.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The developers of The Last of Us said that part 1 was about love, and part 2 is about hate. They really nailed that. I can't think of a game in recent years that has made me feel more emotions than this game. My only real complaint is that while the second half does a good job of humanizing you've grown to hate for the first half of the game, it doesn't really inspire you to want to continue forward. You see all of the characters you've grown to care about and forcing you to brutally kill them off feels truly awful. There were several times where I felt like I'd be better off not finishing the game, and it doesn't make you feel much better at the end. As such I can't say I'd recommend the game to just anyone, but as a whole it was a pretty bold narrative all throughout. If you need happy endings to function normally, don't play this game.

    Also most of these 0 star reviewers can just be honest and say they hate the gays. The way the story plays out it doesn't matter even a little if Dina was a girlfriend or a boyfriend.

    There are more genuine reasons to hate this game than "my girl character kissed a girl and it broke my narrow perspective on life."

    The characters are nuanced and have personalities of their own. They're very much not vessels for the player to impose themselves onto. You will be forced to do things as a character that disgust you throughout the game, hopefully more than the character being gay.    … Expand

The game and story were just as good as original. I guess my only gripe? I didn't really like playing as the muscular girl who murdered the main character for second half of the game. Much prefer ellie and joel but hey, still fun as hell.… Expand

    Incredible game that, while not presenting a particularly original concept, executes it perfectly and displays a riveting and thought provoking story about perspective, ending cycles of hatred, and forgiveness. Bet story I have experienced in a while.

    People over exaggerate the story of the game. I think it has a good story to make you question and shock you. You feel the devastation and the experience of the characters. Gameplay, graphics, and sound are very well done, and I'm proud to own the game. It also has good replay value and provides a good challenge if you want to experience it again.     Oyunda görseller, oynanış mekanikleri, diyaloglar çok iyi olmasına rağmen hikaye beni tatmin etmedi. İntikam hikayesi olarak yola çıkıyoruz ama ne intikam var ne de hikaye sadece boşa geçirilmiş saatler var. Oyun sizi bir yerden sonra mantık hataları yüzünden kaybediyor ve sıkılıp bırakıyorsunuz.

    Uma das maiores decepções no mundo dos jogos.

    O começo é totalmente sem sentido e tedioso, tendo em mãos que você anda mais que joga, a introdução da história é totalmente desconexa com o primeiro jogo, quando se trata da morte do Joel, já que no primeiro jogo ele é um paranoico que não confia em ninguém e no segundo ele já entrega o nome dele para uma desconhecida, e acaba morto por isso.
    A parte em que a Ellie e a Dina juntam para fumar maconha na hora da patrulha (isso mesmo, chaparam na hora da patrulha) é outra parte que não faz o menor sentido, visto que elas tinham uma tarefa no momento.

    A gameplay do jogo é muito "cinemática", quando você faz um ataque corpo a corpo contra um inimigo, você pode estar a metros dele, mesmo assim tem uma força gravitacional que te puxa para o inimigo para que você continue o ataque.
    O jogo é de exploração, mas parece que ele não quer que você explore, toda vez que você "demora" muito para explorar certa área, e o jogo coloca um botão de dica na tela, fazendo o jogador de trouxa.
    Também tem um uso excessivo de quick time events, por exemplo: tem certas partes em que você precisa abrir uma porta, mas está emperrada, então você precisa apertar quadrado duas vezes para abri-la, e isso o jogo INTEIRO.

    A história não é das melhores mas também não é tão ruim, só acho que eles deram um foco muito grande na relação da Dina com a Ellie que pareceu algo forçado para chamar atenção de um certo público. A Dina é uma personagem com um carisma forçado, e muito chata, não para de falar por um minuto sequer.
    Quando você chega em certo ponto do jogo, você joga quase que toda a campanha novamente só que com a Abby, a antagonista, o jogo tenta fazer o jogador entender o ponto de vista da Abby mas só mostra que ela é uma brutamonte psicopata que não tem remorso nem de matar o próprio povo.
    Quando você termina de jogar a parte da Abby, o jogo já está quase no final, mas você não tem aquele sentimento de que está acabando, e quando sobem os créditos você fica com uma impressão de "é só isso?".

    Meus únicos pontos positivos sobre o jogo são o gore, que é sensacional e visceral, a direção de arte, que é uma das melhores que eu já vi em um jogo, aquela parte da fazenda é linda, e por fim, os gráficos que são muito bons, e não confundam o ingame com as CGs, já que o jogo transita muito bem quando precisa.

    Em conclusão, não é um bom jogo, você consegue se divertir em algumas partes mas a maior parte do jogo é extremamente chata e tediosa.

    ENGLISH REVIEW:

    One of my biggest disappointments about gaming.

    The begging is extremely boring, too much walking and awful dialogues and nonsense events (like Joel's death and Ellie smoking weed while she had important things to do at that moment, like wtf she was thinking??).

    The gameplay is too "fake", when you attack a enemy it seems that there is this gravitational force that pulls you to the enemy so you can kill him. The game is about exploring but it seems that it doesn't want you to explore it, because every time you take too long exploring, the game gives you a tip button, and this is so ridiculous, making the player an idiot.
    There is also this overuse of quick time events, for example: there are many times in the game where you are opening a door but the door is stuck, so you need to press the square button two times, and it happens through the whole game, it's so annoying.

    The story isn't that bad but is not also good, Dina is one of the most annoying and terrible character I've ever seen in a videogame, she doesn't stops talking for a single minute during the walkthroug, and the game is always focusing in Ellie and Dina's relationship when it isn't something that important to the story, it gave me the impression of trying to call certain people attention.

    When you get in certain point of the game, you have to play it all again but with Abby, that is the game's antagonist. They try to make you understand Abby's point of view but they just show you that Abby is just a freak psychopath that doesn't even cares about killing her own people.
    When you finish to play the whole Abby's part, the game is near to the end, but the game doesn't even cares about showing the player that you are almost in the end, you don't have that feeling of finishing a game.

    My only positive points to this work is the gore, that is just amazing, the graphics that are great and the art direction that is one of the best i have ever seen in gaming industry.

    In conclusion, is not a good game, there are some fun parts, but the biggest part of the game is extremely boring.

    Though I initially didn’t love this game I’ve come around to absolutely loving it. The gameplay is AMAZING. Ellie’s new friends are awesome, Abby and her crew are okay but I never got attached to them like I am to Ellie. The only setback to this game is it’s pacing. It was amazing until it reached Abbys part and it went to what felt like a climax in the story to a complete stop and it wasThough I initially didn’t love this game I’ve come around to absolutely loving it.     The Last of Us Part II is a masterpiece! I’ve never had any story impact me the way this one has. I love replaying this game over and over again. I waited so long for TLOU2 to finally release and while I was counting down the days until it’s release I would replay TLOU1 over and over again in anticipation, and I must say TLOU2 exceeded my expectations in every single way. The graphics,The Last of Us Part II is a masterpiece! I’ve never had any story impact me the way this one has. I love replaying this game over and over again. I waited so long for TLOU2 to finally release and while I was counting down the days until it’s release I would replay TLOU1 over and over again in anticipation, and I must say TLOU2 exceeded my expectations in every single way. The graphics, attention to detail, sound design, performances by the actors, and soundtrack are some of if not the best I’ve ever seen in a video game. And the accessibility features are amazing. The game shows that in the world of The Last of Us there are no hero’s or villains, just survivors, like Tess said in TLOU1 “we’re **** people Joel it’s been that way for a long time” then Joel said “no we are survivors” basically everyone in the world of TLOU has done horrible things to survive, but they’re doing the wrong things for what they believe are the right reasons. TLOU2 shows that it’s all about perspective and by the end of the game you should feel conflicted. It asks questions such as What would you do if someone you loved was the victim of a cruel and violent act? How easily could one's mind tip toward violent retribution? How far would you go to bring the people responsible to justice? If you were successful, how would it change you? Would you ever be the same? I love how this game is both a revenge story and a redemption story, it’s basically 2 games in 1. I recommend this game to everyone.… Expand

    This game will shake you like no other game has ever done. It is indeed controversial and it made me do things I didnt want, and some others were not like I wanted them to be BUT, because I can do it all over again, I will.

    Incredible that Naughty Dog managed to top the original game, which already seemed like catching lightning in a bottle. The interesting narrative structure and the unhurried, uncompromising storytelling are the game's highlights for me.

    Not perfect, but still a masterpiece. Don’t let the review bomb put you off to it. You are supposed to hate Ellie’s rival and you are forced to play as Ellie’s rival abbey to understand both sides of the story. It’s storytelling brilliance. If you can love a story without shutting down because there’s lesbian characters, you’re in for one of the best games ever made.

Because of the graphics, the mechanics, the music and something that i will be killed about is the story. This game for no reason i hated or like most of it is because of Joel's death and Ellie being a lesbian. The end was well not that good, but not that bad. I give it a 9, because i had to play as Abby's POV 10 hours it was like Ellie's game-play but you just play with a different character. Overall the game is good i love it. 9/10 must play… Expand

It`s the same combat from the first game but with some small changes and I love the survival aspect of the last of us series, the difficulty is awesome, the enemies don`t turn into spunges but they deal more dammage and the resources are more scarce, making a playthough onGraphics and atmosphere is amazing, sound in this game is some of the best i`ve heard, the guns just sound amazing. It`s the same combat from the first game but with some small changes and I love the survival aspect of the last of us series, the difficulty is awesome, the enemies don`t turn into spunges but they deal more dammage and the resources are more scarce, making a playthough on higher difficulty tense and a lot of fun. The problem however is that the actual gameplay of this game is very short with awefull pacing. You spend a big part of the game just walking og watching cutscenes and the story told here is a mess, the big twists in the story was so easy to see coming. For some reason they force you to actually play through a lot of the cutscenes in the game, making a second playthrough a chore. At the end I felt like a wasted my time playing this game, the story was boring and what felt like 70% of the game was cutscenes or walking from point A to B while listening to the characters talking.
    This felt more like a soap opera than a game. So dissapointing, the first game is one of my all time favorite games.    … Expand

    El juego básicamente le da continuidad a la excelente primera parte de esta franquicia exclusiva de sony y desarrollada por Naughty Dog. Su fuerte y verdadero reclamo principal es la historia. Una historia que está al nivel de cualquier serie de gran presupuesto de las que nos podemos encontrar en los servicios de streaming de hoy día. Cada partida es un episodio más en el que avanzaremos a lo largo de dos campañas que en el juego se desarrollan de forma paralela y cuyas tramas coinciden durante el tiempo.

    Se trata de una historia dura, cruda y violenta, de gran carga emocional, que nos tendrá pegados al mando por unas 30 horas, hora arriba, hora abajo.

    Técnicamente el juego es impecable. El mundo exterior está vivo, desolado y a la vez muy hermoso aunque tambien se cuenta con escenarios oscuros y terroríficos.

    Esta partida la hemos hecho entre dos personas, mi mujer y yo. Y aunque lógicamente tenemos formas depensar parecidas, puesto que somos pareja, no llegamos a entender cual es el problema por el cual este juego tiene tan solo un 5.7 en su nota de los jugadores. Es un juego de 10 en lo técnico, la historia te podrá gustar más o menos. Pero ponerle notas por debajo del verde es claramente por problemas subjetivos.

While the graphics and game play are awesome, the story falls completely flat. It's almost like the developers didn't play the first part of this game. There is no way Joel would have entered that space with that many strangers and just introduce himself. That makes no sense, it was just done because the plot needed it to happen. They were too lazy to think of a creative, sensible way to kill him that was in line with his character.

    Joel's death isn't the real problem however, while the way it happened is stupid, it does carry emotional weight. The big problem is that there is absolutely zero pay off. Joel is not avenged. So what was even the point of his death? It leaves a great feeling of dissatisfaction as his death is rendered meaningless. He was killed just for the shock value and that's it.

    I just don't know how they got it so wrong after first getting it so right. The thing that made the first game so successful was the bonding of the characters, that is what worked. They completely missed the mark on this one. Amazing graphics and really solid game play can only take a game so far. If that's what you're interested in then definitely play this game. But if you think it'll be as compelling a story as its predecessor, think again.    … Expand

    This is just the most human game I ever experienced in my life. Those who can't appreciate this game and it's story - are just think there are only good or bad people in real life. We are everything but humans and also, we are just humans with all our actions and feels. Thank you Naughty Dog!

    most other studios make games that dont have much risk but naughty dog made game that is beautiful and amazing in game play and story . they made this game while they knew it may not be satisfactory for the fans so this is commendable .

Just a lot of meat slashing, whether its zombies (surprisingly less) or humans (mostly).     I can't write too much about the game without spoilers. In any case, it shows that there is not always good and evil, but that everything is a matter of perspective. Every single second of the game feels carefully thought out to me and the story offers so much depth. An emotional, immersive gaming experience that I will never forget.

It makes Joel’s story even more fitting. Abby you wanted vengeance for her fathers murder.. and therefore so did Elly. It’s not hard to understand what the writers were going for - an eye for an eye. If you enjoyed the first game then you will like this for the mechanics and graphics. The storyline wasn’t as strong and people moaning about a very small LGBQT storyline really need to look at themselves in the mirror- stop foaming at the mouth about something that’s nothing to do or impacts you whatsoever.… Expand

But as this story unfolds and we delve deeper into the circumstances behind our protagonists actions, I can't help but applaud naughty dog for the direction they took this game in.

    I don't like the policy of forcibly imposing what I have to think about minorities. I understand everything perfectly, I try to be a kind and sympathetic person, as much as the world allows me to do.     通关后我仔细想了想，觉得还是保持这个分数吧。
    在我自己的分数判定中，已经很低了，况且客观来说，虽然游戏性一如既往，但画面，细节做得都很不错。
    但这个剧情与其说是屎，不如说我像是被迫。
    从乔尔死亡那一段我就不太懂创作者的意图，我明白像IGN日本说的，这种东西要放在开始才能升华感情。
    可是过程是不是过于残忍了？
    首先玩着艾比，突然杀死了一代我玩的主角？

    我第一感受就是有人拿枪指着我的头，给我一把刀，要我选择砍掉自己的右手或者左手。
    可我定睛一看，原来左手不是我的，是旁边的一个女人的手。
    哪怕之后我了解到了这个女人的故事，她的悲哀。
    这时，其实我只有两个选择：一，砍掉她的手。二，选择被枪杀死（封盘）。
    我再怎么样也不想砍掉陪我朝夕相处，有着共同美好回忆自己的手啊？！

    我想到了有人说一代如果拍成电影，不会是个好电影，因为剧情其实很俗套，但正是因为是游戏。所以乔尔艾莉陪伴在一起的点点滴滴我们在十几二十个小时能够感同身受。
    而二代在我看来，这个剧情不是个好游戏，但拍成电影也许会好很多。

    我在想，制作人是不是忘了他是在做一个游戏？他是不是忘了游戏与电影的区别？是不是在游戏电影化叙事大行其道的今天以为电影化了蒙太奇了就会是个好游戏？
    还是说，他就是想去拍电影？

    最后的结局，有点丑陋。
    在我理解中，如果我生长在那种时代，我的家人杀了别人，他的家人来复仇很正常。
    但要我理解你就抱歉了，况且还杀了我的家人和同伴。

    Озвучка, лицевая анимация, моё почтение и при всём при том игра чувствуется очень устаревшей. Ни одной новой игровой механики лично я не заметил, а ведь 7 лет прошло!
    Самая большая ошибка поставивших низкие оценки, это ошибка в понимании ими названия игры. Многие видят её как The Last of Us 2, это категорически не правильно! Название игры The Last of Us: Part 2, подчеркиваю Часть 2. То есть это никакой не сиквел, это всего лишь вторая серия и не больше. И если это понять всё встанет на свои места.
    О сюжете скажу только то, что он говно!
    Всё основано на мести Элли и сраной Эбби, при том ни та не другая друг другу так и не отомстили!

    Ещё меня просто выбесило, что 2/3 прохождения мы играем за это бесполое существо, без каких либо вторичных половых признаков, по имени Эбби! Она является дочкой того самого "доктора Менгеле" который убивал десятки невинных людей и чуть не убил Элли в поисках славы и вакцины в оригинальной игре. Эта тварь Эбби убила нашего любимого Джоэла, поубивала практически всех наших друзей, предала свой народ! И авторы хотят, чтобы я за неё играл? Чтоб я ей сопереживал? НЕЕЕТ!!! Удовольствие мне доставляло лишь сбрасывать её с какой нибудь скалы! При том нам не дали этой твари даже отомстить! Обалдеть! Так насрать в душу поклонникам первой части, это надо уметь!
    Теперь о ЛГБТ. На мой взгляд в игре отношения Элли и Дины напоминают вымышленные отношения в группе "Тату", и мне совершенно не мешали.
    А вот отношение к женщинам вообще, в игре ужасное. Издеваются над беременными, при том женская половина в игре ужасно не красивая. Особенно....Эбби. Когда показали сексуальную сцену с её участием, было стойкое впечатление, что совокупляются два гея.
    Вообще, на мой взгляд, кажется, что изначально эта Эбби задумывалась как мужской персонаж. И вот если бы это было так игра бы выстрелила.
    Резюмирую. Имеется очень красивая, но устаревшая игра. Из за этого кажущаяся слишком затянутой. Все переживания оригинала смыты в унитаз, да здравствует эмансипация и бесконечное блуждание...
    Да, в игре есть неплохой босс, один, но есть!
    Если бы не было The Last of Us в 2013 году, оценка была бы 9 или 10. Это как заставить поклонников Star Wars 77 - 83 годов возлюбить трилогию от Disney!    … Expand

The factions in the new game are thriving and the plot driver of a war between them doesn't make sense in the context of a world where there is plenty of room for both to expand, and both have plenty of resources (and therefore have no reason to fight).    … Expand

Because if you compare the mechanics of this game to the previous game they have improved. Joel is not the same character as the first game which can happen with people once they settle done. He cares about Ellie. And also Abby is a great character and I feel most men who hate on this game are just mad about the fact she exists. Joel killed Abby’s father leading her to want to get revenge like every other character. Sorry this game had LGBTQ+ elements making you uncomfortable. I mean I’m pretty sure the first game had some as well. The ending was nice because she realized how much of a monster she had become. And yes, it is controversial in its design choices and way of storytelling. But it is not as bad as early user scores seem to indicate.

    If you are as lost as me in the whole controversy, just wait until the price drops and then make up your own mind. Just don't believe the hate - you could miss out on something very good here.

    Overall, I must give Naughty Dog kudos for the fact that they tried to make the player see the opposite site of the generally accepted game mechanic of killing random people repeatedly, never asking if it’s necessary or justified.
    For almost everybody else in the game, Joel and Ellie are the villains, first robbing humanity of a cure, then killing innocent people for their selfish reasons.

    The game could have been an outstanding example of showing how morality is a matter of perspective by placing two equally likable characters against each other, leaving the player in an empathy catch 22. But certain character design choices prevented that from happening.

    In the end the game is not consequent in following it's own relentless standards. The ending feels surprisingly ineffectual. It should have just gone all in, leaving the character and player alone with nothing but grief and emptiness. But it’s hard to build another sequel on that, I suppose.

    If you are into big production great-looking, plot-driven games, you shouldn't miss this one.
    But you should also know: if you are looking for a realistic stealth shooter or pioneering inventions in story telling – this is not it.    … Expand

Because while there is one big problem which is that killing hundreds of people and then not killing Abby at the end felt pretty dumb, the overall gameplay and other aspects of the story are really solid.

Joel gets murdered at begining of the game, by a TRANSEXUAL!lol. He uses a golf club to murder Joel.Ellie is lesbian who has relationship with a Hebrew brown girl, who that girl later gets pregnant by a chinese and Ellie and That brown girl with her chinese child, become a ''family''.Ellie and that brown Hebrew girl do drugs and you control 2 characters. Ellie the lesb0 and the transexual guy who takes steroids! I kid you not. he takes steroids! And he gets analy prolapsed in a boat by a white guy. During your missions you will find a pregnant woman who dresses as soldier, carries weapons and fights zombies and also characters which you never saw before but game presents em as cannon serious and important. Seriously im not kidding you! This is the story of the game! Then the team of the transexual guy which is full of gypsies, chinese, lesbians and hebrews, hunt down white KIDS while they ''murder zombies''. They say revenge is bad and whole game shows lgbt zionist community commiting revenge on white people, kids!, family. The game is such a woke up culture, so trash youll find your self laughing at scenario when off course you wont be bored.Most of time you will be bored rolling your eyes, regretting the purchase you made.     This game is an unrivaled game both in terms of story, graphics and gameplay, it should be experienced without looking at any of the bad reviews. On the contrary, the punch of the story called bad is very strong. one of the games those who say it's bad are either an xbox fan or someone who can't play the game, this game is among the best games ever

    A magnificent piece of art. I recommend it to everyone. ND is one of the industry's standard. 10/10 easy. I'm satisfied with how it ended and I wouldn't want a pt3. How about a new IP you naughty dog!

    After 5 playthroughs, I think I’m qualified to review this game. Overall, the story could’ve been much better. The character development and pacing was not great. The amount of plot armor that Abby and Tommy had was crazy. The sloppy input of LGBTQ propaganda was a little off putting to say the least. These are the main negatives of the game.

    Now, onto the positives. Flawless graphics,    After 5 playthroughs, I think I’m qualified to review this game. Overall, the story could’ve been much better. The character development and pacing was not great. The amount of plot armor that Abby and Tommy had was crazy. The sloppy input of LGBTQ propaganda was a little off putting to say the least. These are the main negatives of the game.

    Now, onto the positives. Flawless graphics, virtually no glitches or frame rate drops, incredible gameplay, realistic gore, touching soundtrack, fantastic level design, badass boss fights, good weapon choices, excellent customization options, fun cheats, an array of extras, and great gameplay dialogue. Another thing I liked was that the enemies were so well programmed, especially on Grounded Mode. They all felt so real and it was kinda sad watching them slowly bleed out, even the Scars.

    This game is magnificent and worth every penny. If you cannot see past the fact that Joel dies or that the story was sloppily written, then don’t play it, fine by me. The positives far outweigh the negatives though.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
