It does certain things amazing (gameplay, graphics) but also is terrible with the story and getting fans excited. We wanted a game where you play as Ellie and where Ellie can be flawed but not evil. Instead, they turned Ellie into a monster, Joel into a bumbling fool, and a sadistic murderer into a heroine. The ending was depressing, and I felt worse after finishing it, not better.… Expand

    It is without a doubt that this is one of the best games of our generation, maybe even of all time. You may dislike some parts of the story, but for me it all worked perfectly. The risks, the characters, the writing, outstanding acting, fun game-play, gorgeous graphics, sound design and breathtaking music all come together into such complex experience i haven't forgot about it even monthsIt is without a doubt that this is one of the best games of our generation, maybe even of all time. The haters just have a hard on for Joel or they can’t handle the idea of two female protagonists that don’t fit their expectations.     While improvements to the graphics have been made the story falls flat. Why didn't the developers concentrate more on delivering a engaging story that stayed true to the characters that we grew attached to. The developers could have done so much more, instead they seem to be putting more effort into political correctness and dismissing the concerns of the fans what happened?

    Druckmann spat in my soul with the plot of this game. SJW agenda and revenge for the sake of revenge, to understand that revenge is bad - that's all you need to know about this such a long story. After this game, I can no longer take the first part seriously. The game series is dead.

I know it has been 2 years and i was waiting for this game for 4 years but when i saw how was the story, i decided not to ruin my love for the first game. 5 days ago i saw it was on sale so i bought it, and listen to me people it really doesn't worth it. the **** story line and the way that they try to make us love Abby throughout the game is completely ridiculous.
    And i'm not even going to talk about how they just killed Joel in the first hour of the game.

The thing about this game is that people are mad about Joel’s death, which is understandable, but you have to realize it was the more realistic option. Joel, Tommy, Ellie, Abbie, Dina, all of them have to die eventually. And I’m an apocalypse, death is bound to happen. The story was utter greatness. Everything that happened was just plain stunning. graphics are the best I’ve seen out of any game I’ve ever played. And the gameplay exceeds the first game by a long shot. While Abbie may have been irritating at first, playing as her, and seeing all the back flashes and everything made me realize that there was a reason for Joel’s death. This game has a fun and exiting twist around every corner and if I had to, I would’ve spent every penny in the world on it.… Expand

    It's the most incredible and realistic game that I ever played. The sensations that the game gaves is something that you will never experience. Jogo de excelente qualidade, tanto técnica quanto narrativa, vai se tornar um clássico, ele não é perfeito, principalmente em alguns detalhes na história, mas não vai deixar de ser bom por esses erros, personagens excelentes, todos muito bem construídos, estava com um pouco de medo nessa parte, pois iríamos controlar a "vilã" no jogo também, mas acabei gostando mais dela do que da própria Ellie que foi se perdendo durante o jogo, acredito que tenha sido proposital isso, mas eu não passo pano na cabeça dela, mereceu tudo de ruim que aconteceu. Hear me out... yes Joel's death was heartbreaking and unexpected but it sets the stage for the story, and yes not being able to kill abby at the end is annoying although necessary. Anyone who thought that the ending was going to be uplifting and heart-warming needs to remember that they are playing the last of us, not some kids game, a post apocalyptic world where everything is supposed to be grim and dark after society collapsed. Everyone has to revert to insanely horrific actions in order to save themselves and everyone around them. I also see people complaining about how naughty dog ruined Joel's character but remember at the start of the first game he trusted no one but throughout the story he begins to trust again? Years after staying safe in a town with hundreds of other people means that you will eventually trust again but in Joel's case it came back to bite him. I loved this game and no matter what other people say I think it will always remain an amazing game with great story telling.… Expand

Joel murdered Abby’s father the only person who can make a cure and people get upset when karma comes back on him - people need to grow up and realize that life doesn’t always go the way you want. The story is realistic and everything about the game is a masterpiece …if someone murdered your dad you would want revenge huh.??     Gameplay:

    The gameplay is amazing and fun. Looking for supplies, or just exploring the area is awesome. Just be careful, infected can be anywhere! You'll not only be fighting infected but other tribes/groups. Exploring certain places without knowing if there are infected or not can be super intense, especially if you're playing on a harder difficulty. 10/10

    Story:

    The story is GOLD. The Last of Us Part II, is a sequel for the first game "The Last of Us". From start to end, there are no story-wise imperfections. All the plot-twists and places you'll go are extraordinary. The story has a lot of action and drama. Most people didn't like it because it didn't surpass their expectations. Don't listen to them, the story is perfect as it is. 10/10

    Characters:

    The characters are my favorite part of the game. The Last of Us Part II portrays the characters' emotions and actions way better than the first game. This sequel overall is all about character development and the characters' actions. You'll form a bond with each and every character in the game, which I find amazing. If you like to see characters grow as a person, The Last of Us Part II is certainly for you. 10/10

    Visuals/Sound:

    The game looks beautiful, especially if you're playing on 4K 60fps. Some parts of the game can be frustrating but then you just realize how good the game looks and all your worries go away. If you're riding a horse or just running around town the games looks AWESOMEE! The fighting is also so smooth and satisfying.

    If you're using 3D audio headphones or just surround sound speakers it seems like you're actually inside the game. Sometimes I get startled by the sound of bullets hitting cars! Even if you don't have 3D audio headphones, the audio is still amazing.. seriously. All the voice acting is so perfect! I just love it, and I bet you'll love it too! 10/10

    Overall:

    Naughty Dog did an astonishing job on this sequel. I and thousands/millions of other people loved The Last of Us Part II. If you're looking into buying this game, please do. You won't be disappointed! I said this dozens of times throughout this review.. but I am being completely honest when I say this game is amazing. If I could, I would give this game way more than 5 stars! Thank you, Naughty Dog.

    Cuando vi las calificaciones creí que eran debido a que Ellie (y el juego en general) eran "inclusivxs" pero en realidad, fue el poco desarrollo que le dieron a Abby, No me arrepiento de haberme visto gameplays en You Tube en lugar de comprarlo antes, el final está muy sacado de la manga fue un tanto para nada...

Often times I had taken the point of view that cut scenes detracted from a gaming experience and took away too much time that I would rather be immersed in action. I found myself truly engrossed in this title from beginning to end. I didn't want to put it down. Beautiful graphics, great story, excellent game play, very polished presentation. The Last of Us Part II literally checks all of the boxes. I understand that it was review bombed by those that didn't like the way it handled the main characters that they had grown to love from the first title. Those reviews are completely off base, but to each his own. If you haven't played this and see it sitting in the bargain bin at your local store it is well worth the purchase. A true thrill ride from beginning to end, a video game masterpiece. I am a tough sell on games and don't review them regularly, but I felt so positive about this title that I decided to review it and post this over a year after playing the game.… Expand

    The excellent gameplay of the first game was basically expanded on to make this masterpiece. Story is incredibly compelling and from several points of view like a Miyazaki film. Can't wait to see where part three will take us!

    And when it came and I played it it happened.

Finais alternativos com certeza deveriam ter sido colocados no jogo.

    O combate é o ponto chave do jogo, é uma gameplay rápida, desafiadora e divertida dependendo da dificuldade em que você está jogando, mas senti falta de uma variedade nova de inimigos/infectados e novas mecânicas de gameplay, não teve muitas mudanças do TLOU 1, exceto pela evolução dos gráficos.

    É uma pena que a sequência do grande jogo do ano acabou assim.

I mean it has some big problems, but it has very good things too. Some parts as Ellie or Abby aren't good, but some other parts were very very good. Joel's death was a bit usless, and yes the Game is a bit to long, but it still have some very good Features and parts so I think it is a fair 7/10… Expand

Terrible story, boring repetitive gameplay throughout the whole game, terribly written script, terribly awkward sex scene/confusing love interests, horrendous character progression (the game actually makes you dislike your once favourite character, Ellie), one of, if not the WORST ways to kill off Joel, showed zero respect to the fans and the character, one of the worst and most disappointing endings, lack of gun and melee choices, absurd violence and an unnecessary amount of killing dogs, a weird and very draining attempt to make the player feel guilty when playing as Abby, also an idiotic event where you tell Tommy you won’t help him find Abby (seemingly ruining their relationship) just to eventually go looking for her and then finally returning home to see Dina and the kid gone with Ellie left absolutely all alone.… Expand

    That said, this game isn't perfect, but it's not horrible either. The art and animation are beautiful, and the gameplay is fun. Sound is solid. Joel dies in the prologue and Elie is left alone and it's really pathetic all the time. All of Ellie's companions are either written out of the story or are flat out killed by Mrs. Nanomachines.

    Ellie's character came off as really annoying this time, because of how sad and depressing everything was. It was like listening to a 14 year old talk about how dark the world is and how deep and emotional they are. I honestly started to hate myself for sitting down and playing the game.

    Abby is a ****ing mess and only exists to kill some companion of Ellie's or to serve as a tower of meat. She kills Joel, and then you play as her, and the game tries really ****ing hard to make you feel empathy towards her because "oooh she's just in a twisted world."    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will say it right now, this is one of the best games ever made, and just as good as the first, if not better. I wholeheartedly hold that sentiment and always will

    The "Issues" people have mainly lie with Joel's death. I think it was an absolutely key thing for the story to do, and was done masterfully. Death does not have mercy in the real world. We don't get to choose when our loved ones die and how they do so. Joel's death came so abruptly and the sudden, unexpectedness of how he died honestly felt like the painful times I found out a loved one died.

    People will say "But he wasn't cautious enough! That's not the Joel we know!"
    4 years have passed. 4. We know from the previous game that while Joel may be cautious, he is emotionally prone to manipulation. He gets accustomed to something for a while, and it reflects on him. He didn't take too well on Ellie initially, and as he spent more time with her, she began to feel like a daughter to him. The Joel who left Boston would have NEVER rushed into that surgery room to save Ellie. Matter of fact, the Joel who left Boston was different by the end of the first game, because he had abandoned that whole idea of even returning to Boston. He gave up that life as a smuggler... to be with Ellie. The writing of the first game reinforces the idea that Joel. who spent 4 years in Jackson living a relatively safe, comfortable life, will let his guard down. We learn from writings in the second game that Jackson frequently has people passing through, and that too is another thing Joel would have let his guard down on. The majority of his interactions, if not all, with outsiders in Jackson were likely positive ones, and the one he had with Abby's group probably was not anything he had not been through. Knowing the area she was in and seeing how her leading them to their camp was in the interest of everyone, him trusting Abby isn't some forbidden thought out of this world.

    Another point of tension that the game actually did very well was the humanization of the other side. I hated Abby with a passion the moment that she killed Joel, but as Ellie and Dina started to get hurt in their pursuit for an illusion of justice, I started to doubt whether continuing the cycle of revenge would be worth it. Things didn't seem satisfactory when they began discovering the dead members of Abby's group, and when Ellie killed Owen and Mel, that feeling only grew stronger. By then, I started to view Ellie in a negative light. Shortly after, when Abby shot Tommy and Jesse, that feeling of revenge grew back again, but the story cuts us off. We see Abby's story with our own eyes. We see the pain Joel and Ellie have inflicted on others, and it breaks the idea of the main character being some hero incapable of doing any wrong. It does something unique; to show the other side of things. I felt the same pain for Abby looking at her dead dad as I did for Ellie looking at Joel.

    The writing, once again, is masterful and forces uncomfortable truths onto the player. I recently tried playing it again, and I can't bring myself to get through it. The game knows how to play with your emotions, and the change in those emotions is drastic. I feel scared, vulnerable, and emotionally conflicted. No game or movie has ever done that to me. I wanted revenge, but at what cost?

    The graphics are amazing and speak for themselves. The new engine is amazing and way ahead of its time. I love the little details like the intro, where Jesse finds out Ellie kissed Dina, and you can see Jesse's silhouette behind the curtain after the door is slammed on him, or during the Museum flashback, where Ellie's space helmet fogs up while she's talking. Best part? It's all rendered in real-time, which only lends a greater feeling of awe and immersion when you seamlessly move from cinematic to gameplay. Speaking about the gameplay, it is one of the best out there. UI is crisp, doesn't try too hard, doesn't try too little. Mechanics aren't complicated and keep you in touch with the story while feeling like you're contributing. The mini-puzzles to get from one place to another are fun, while the attention to detail in voluntary exploration add a whole other level of emotional investment into the environment. Gunplay is dramatic, versatile, and awe-grasping. Everything feels high-stakes and cinematic.

    Those hating on this game largely seem to be denialists who are mad Joel died. The game to them is supposed to be some hero simulator where Ellie and Joel go save the world or something. I'm glad the writing moved the plot in an amazing way, told a meaningful story about revenge and life, and manipulated your raw emotions to the point where you feel like you're in the characters' shoes. Such an amazing experience I am thankful to have been able to enjoy, and am fully satisfied with where the series ended as a story. I will most certainly be enjoying the PS5 remaster for the first game when it comes out!    … Expand

People is hating because they didn't get their typical linear story and they aren't able to appreciate what goes beyond with their little closed minds.

    Regarding what I didn't like, it is really a lengthy game and it felt way too long. I don't know if it was made on purpose but towards the end it seems like it is going to end in several moments (because of the location) but then you realise that there are still maaaany hours of game left. I would have chosen other locations to avoid generating this feeling of "tiredness".

But in regards to story and characters, it's definitely step-down from the frist game. I just wasn't invested in the story at all for some reason. I still enjoyed playing it but in comparison to the first game, it's kind of a letdown.

    Way better than the first game in my opinion.
    I got very emotional throughout the story and that really tells me when a game is well written and fun for me. The gun mechanics were better and more fun than in the first game, with aiming being more smooth and reliable to work with. I would definitely recommend this to someone that has played the first game.
