    The story is abysmal I'm sorry. All the nuance of part 1 is gone. The gameplay is fantastic, the engine runs amazing, but when your selling point is the story I'm sorry I'mma be real with you Neil, I don't think you're as smart as you think you are. I also am disgusted by hoe Naughty Dog abuses their employees.

    Don't trust the negative review bombing. This is by far the best narrative and story telling i have seen so far with insane level of details
    Playtime is ~30 hours and every scene you see or play clearly shows that a **** ton of work has gone into this game.
    The game has the best graphics you can get on a ps4 pro (which i played it on first) and even puts some ps5 exclusives to shame.    Don't trust the negative review bombing. This is by far the best narrative and story telling i have seen so far with insane level of details

    The game has the best graphics you can get on a ps4 pro (which i played it on first) and even puts some ps5 exclusives to shame. The improvements on the ps5 system are neglectable but nice to have (60fps or 4k and faster loading).

    I encountered no bugs, glitches or crashes in 2 playthroughs.

    Playing through the first the last of us is mandatory to get the most out of this story.
    The story needs you to be open minded and having empathy. If you cant deal with a story without plotarmor, this is not for you. Some people have really strong opinions about this one but i don't want to spoil you. Lets compare it to Game of Thrones: Some ppl are huge Oberyn Martell fans and cant deal with the fact that he got his head crushed by the mountain. A huge part of the negative reviews are because of that. These reviews are unjustified but i get that it sucks to loose a character in a show or game that you love.

    The gameplay is not complex at all and most of it is exploring or fighting. The animations here again are extraordinary. Over all you should not buy this game for its gameplay alone. If you seek for a skill challenge there are other games like dark souls, hollow night or whatever. Overall this is a point i can see why someone would reduce their final verdict on this game by some points. For me the gameplay fits its purpose well and exploring the last of us part 2 is fun and does not distract you from the story.

    The game is brutal in every way. The story is dark. The violence in this game is sometimes over the top but helps to deliver the dark times ppl go through in this game. If you cant stand aggression and violence in games/movies i dont recomment this game to you.

    Homophobic ppl seem to review bomb this game as well. Hard to explain without spoiling but this game does not force political statements. It just represents people of all kind and some homophobic idiots get triggered because of it. Its not even that big of a deal when you play through it.

    Overall if you seek for a story driven game in a violent postapocalyptic world the last of us part 1 and 2 is the best you can get.    … Expand

    The beginning of the game plays out like the first episode of season 7 of the Walking Dead, where Joel is beaten to death with a golf club by a newly introduced villain named Abby. To make things worse, the game then forces you to play as Abby, a character you will hate. Ellie vows revenge against Abby, but she never gets it. The end of the game is one of the most pointless depressing endings I've ever had the displeasure of viewing.
    It's clear that Naughty Dog had an agenda to push with this game. Specifically an "Anti-White male" agenda. This is something I will absolutely not support and I will no longer purchase any games from Naughty Dog. The director, Neil Druckman, will never live this game down and it will always come back to haunt him.    … Expand

Not just the Joel aspect but all the characters were just unlikeable or completely forgettable. Sorry itself was not convincing. Seemed lazy. The overwhelming theme was try too hard.     This game has it all for a great horror adventure: amazing gameplay that is fluid and responsive, awesome scenery and truly horrible and frightening moments (I'm looking at you Ratking), a great revenge story, and unforgettable characters and voice actors (Laura and Ashely, always deliver). What an experience!

The rest of the story, however, was breathtaking, going in a direction I’ve never seen in a video game. As an added bonus, the LGBTIQ+ representation is superb, and the accessibility options make this game one of the most disabled friendly games ever made. Bravo Naughty Dog.

    The Last Of Us Part II has a fatal flaw: It doesn't know its a video game. While seemingly telling a story about the circulation of violence, it doesn't reflect on the actual violence committed by the player. ND wants to be brave and challenge the players expectations with a duo-narrative but in the end it all falls because the game just tells us the way it is but doesn't show us.

El apartado técnico es maravilloso, la banda sonora y gráficos igual, jugarlo es divertido pero si tenemos que estar al corriente de la narrativa deja muchísimo que desear. La primera parte dura 1/4 de esta y el desarrollo de los protas es genial, este dura el triple y ninguno de los personajes resulta interesante. Todos sosos, aburridos y que encima la gente defiende la muerte de joel porque "es un tipo malo", loco, es una pandemia mortífera donde reina la anarquía y la desesperanza a cada esquina, en serio vale la "moralidad" en estas circunstancias?. Si estuvieran al tanto de la historia del primero se habrán dado a la humanidad que por más que las luciérnagas consiguiesen la cura en serio pensarían que se las iban a dar a todo el mundo sabiendo que es una organización paramilitar que atenta contra toda corporación global, desatando guerrillas con militares y demás supervivientes cada 2x3?     Fantastic game with great gameplay, pushing aggression and stealth and this aggression correlates with Ellie's story perfectly. The twists are done amazingly and you really feel for every character involved. I have never felt this much emotion playing a video game. A Masterpiece, all the hate is just people that wanted a safe and easy journey, that isnt the TLOU world.

So realistically I was going to give this a 9, since it's a REALLY good game, and I've only ever given a personal 10 to 3 games before as of this review, and that is Halo 3, The Last of us Part 1 and Ocarina Of Time. But thanks to the unfair level of fandoms crying over a character death their reviews have hurt the ACTUAL value this game gives. So this is probably more of a 9 if you wanted more of a realistic view, as the gameplay, graphics and narrative are something of a near perfect masterpiece crafted by a really dedicated team of some of the best the game industry has to offer, unfortunately it isn't a perfect masterpiece like the last 3 games I mentioned but it's only really down to the writing of one character at the end as a reasoning. Now if you're only here for the review stop here, but if you're curious as to the reasoning I'll detail it here: This is due to the writing of one of the important characters which is pretty much the ONLY gripe I had with the game was that at the last portion of the end where (SPOILER) Tommy decides he goes from a "don't get revenge and put your life at risk" at the beginning to a sudden "What are you doing Ellie you need to keep pursuing revenge for me after she let you go and told you the fight was over and spared your life you need to put your life at risk again!" which was a bit weird and unlike Tommy's character to demand this young girl go get herself killed or put her life at risk again and becoming this hateful old man, it could've been left out as she already wanted to pursue revenge. Other than that the narrative, the gameplay, graphics, and the writing of the rest of the characters was pristine. Highly Recommend this game and absolutely love the stuff Naughty Dog puts out.… Expand

As an avid fan of Naughty Dog earlier releases, despite the leaks I was still hoping that no matter what's in the leaks, this game is still going to be something special. After all there is no other studio that can tell story the way ND does, right?

    I'm probably one of many people that during the game came to conclusion that creators wanted you to suffer. They drag you though horrendous, emotionally draining gaming experience. Game is designed to make you miserable and there were moments when I was considering just quitting it.

    Beloved characters from part one are nowhere to be found. Joel is an old, sad, beaten dog full of guilt. Ellie is completely different person that treats Joel like a dog. There is a cast of new completely irrelevant, forgettable characters that I could not care less about. Story is full of inconsistencies and plot holes. Writing can only be compared to what those two clowns did to GOT season 8.
    Let's not forget super important sex scene that was so crucial to find it's way into this game.Scene that was so gross I could not watch it. Dude f*****g dude named Abby with herculean body and semi female face.

    Druckmann managed to destroy everything that fans loved from part one, leaving me devastated and heart broken. He killed Joel, forced me to play half of the game as his killer trying to convince me that I should like that character. Story does not provide any profound message just a mess of unfinished plots, irrational decisions.
    I was left with the feeling of confusion and emptiness after watching with bleeding heart final moments of a biggest looser of the story, emotionally and physically devastated girl named Ellie.

    I cannot comprehend what was Druckmanns motivation to destroy something so beautiful and unique that was enjoyed and loved by millions of fans around the world. To make fans suffer to intentionally cause them pain. I would like to unsee it unplay it , pretend that it never happened.

    I feel sorry for developers, programmers, artists etc who put so much work and heart to make this game look like it is. Visually this game is stunning. As a story driven game none of this efforts could save it unfortunately.

Por ese lado puedo decirles que Naughtydog es de los mejores y no defrauda en lo tecnico.
    Por otro lado... actualmente vivimos en un tiempo donde todo contenido debe elaborarse con cuidado para no herir susceptibilidades y ofender por accidente a alguien que tal vez ni es gamer. Con esto no quiero decir que las empresas y jugadores no sean inclusivas o que sean intolerantes, pero por volver cada cosa nueva en algo "politicamente correcta" se sienten los cambios muy forzados y solo para dar gusto a alguien, no permiten que las obras concebidas continúen de una forma mas "organica" y se vea con contenidos forzados que manchan una historia que pudo ser sublime.
    Tristemente eso paso con la historia de este juego tan bello , que nos llevo a un nuevo apocalipsis donde en el primer juego todos sufrimos y reimos con Joel y Ellie, sangramos con ellos, sufrimos con ellos, lloramos con ellos...
    Solo en sueños podre imaginar lo que pudo ser de este juego que espere por una generación entera, y que logro decepcionarme.
    De todas formas agradezco a NaughtyDog por el primer juego que logro ser el mejor que jugué en mi vida y mis condolencias por TLOU parte 2, se que no fueron ustedes y que solo recibían indicaciones de terceros al hacer este titulo.    … Expand

    The game treats preconception = conception. They are not the same.
    The game constantly tries to push lefties agenda inside the history. Arrrgh horrible because ruined all our experience that we had on the first game.
    PS. I played The Last of Us part 1 and enjoyed.

    The graphics of this game is awesome and the world is really well designed. I wish it was more open world where the player has some freedom in choosing where to explore. The story is interesting, but borders on being a movie more than a video game at times.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game isn't without its flaws but people are flaming it to hard. Its still a great game and if you enjoyed the 1st one (Which was no doubt better then the part 2) then you would still enjoy this one.
    The good parts of the game is that the combat has been improved and headshots are a 1 shot kill as they weren't before.
    Crafting is slightly better although for some reason Abby (Not Ellie) can't craft arrows. God forgive these devs for making such a dumb decision.
    The story is great and was a good continuation of the previous game. It of course had a high bar to live up to which being honest I don't think it quite made it but I it would have been near impossible to do so.
    The graphics are more than something to brag about. The attention to detail is gotta be the best I've seen in a game before. Even small things for example the shotgun ammo on the stock is what ammo you got left. If you have 2 regular and 2 incendiary on the stock it will have 2 yellow and 2 red. Small things like that really bring the game more to life.
    I loved how we got more groups in this one. The WLF's, the Scars, The Rattlers... They are all different and have different ambitions and survive in different ways. Not necessarily good ways thou. You would be lying if you thought the whistling of the scars wasn't cool asf.

    The downsides were that stealth still kind of sucked. I understood the 1st game slacking a bit because it was originally made on the Ps3. But a late entry to the Ps4 there is no excuse for it being how it was. It was like it hadn't been worked on at all from the previous game. In a game where you can barely carry any ammo and body shots take 5 to kill someone so your only option is stealth to pick a as many if not all your enemies off and it was that basic just disappoints me. I could have 10 dead bodies piled up in 1 place. The enemy would see it, look around for 30 seconds and forget all about it. They should be hunting you down like a pack of wolfs (Pun intended).
    Lack of zombie encounters. This series was made on zombies yet when you see them you kill a 3 or 4 and move on. At 1 point we kill some big ass multi mutation which was awesome but why do we only get that once? I wish we got to fight off huge hordes and stuff.. Why is it always, you go into a building and there is a couple infected to remind you that they exist, you gotta a kill them and after you move on. If there has been an outbreak then I'm shocked because if this is half of the worlds population then you live in some deadass place. The 1st game had loads of zombies and it was awesome. In this one its all about the WLFs and Scars with a hint of zombie. You have given us less of what we love.
    Abby should have been able to craft arrows. She has no way in crafting stealth material. I feel like you wanted to make her less stealthy and more guns blazing but if that was the case why can she carry a small amount of ammo? She should be able to carry 3 if not 4 clips not 1 and a half. (including the 1 in the gun).
    We played to much of abby. Don't get me wrong I loved seeing her side to things and thought it was awesome her she had her own attributed and guns but I feel like I played her more then Ellie if not near half and half. This game is a continuation of the 1st game and Ellie is on the cover so why did I spend near half of the game playing as someone else? Just my point of view others may be different.
    The characters didn't have as much emotion as the 1st one. I am not sure if that's the right way to put it but say for example in the 1st one where Joel starts off not liking Ellie cos of his Daughter and then he ends up liking her and looks at her as his own. Not replacing his daughter but putting the care he had for her into Ellie instead. In part 2 the character were more straight forward. I mite be overlooking something thou.

    I think it would have been cool if we got to know more of the characters better. We don't know a single thing about these people? Like who the hell were they before the infection? Or if they were born after then why don't they talk about various things they enjoy. The conversation is always present based. Just thought I would throw that in there cos I found it kind of strange.

    The summaries the game is still amazing. Not as good as the 1st but damn it would have been hard to live up to such a game. This is has improvements from the 1st but I think some areas weren't improved enough like the stealth mechanics. Which is a huge part of the game. Or why the hell can I find half a container? Surely all containers should come as 1 objects not 4. I hope we do get a part 3 although its hard to say with how this one ended. We could find out if Abby finds the fireflies or if Ellie ends up back at home or does she continue to fight off the infected and found another group to survive alongside? Does her life now consist of saving people from hunters/rattlers? I hope we get to find out!    … Expand

TLOU part I is my favorite game of all time, so I had extremely high standards for the sequel (which wasn’t needed in the first place). For me, this game has it’s positives, which are:

    1) gameplay - many people disliked the gameplay on    This is a very polarizing game. TLOU part I is my favorite game of all time, so I had extremely high standards for the sequel (which wasn’t needed in the first place). For me, this game has it’s positives, which are:

    1) gameplay - many people disliked the gameplay on part I, but I really really enjoyed it, and in part II it is slightly improved. Overall pretty fun to play. 2) visuals - when it comes to animations, graphics, how realistic killing a person or an infected looks, it is legitimately top tier.
    3) sound - everything in the sound department was nailed.
    4) AI - the AI is pretty good, which is very important in games like these where immersion and believability is key.

    It’s negatives:
    1) plot - the story is absolutely terrible. To have the daughter of such an irrelevant NPC in part I magically matter so much in this world is ridiculously unbelievable. It is a petty revenge story with nothing good in it.
    2) characters - there are really no good characters in this story, not a single one. Some are mediocre, some are atrocious. It is a shame how such bad writing can forever destroy the love we all had to a character like Ellie. 3) pacing - who thought it was a good idea to go back and forth between characters and setting? All to make the audience care for such a bad and irrelevant character in Abby. Guess what Naughty Dog, we do not care, and in any subsequent games featuring Abby we won’t either. You already had great characters in Joel and Ellie which both worked by how well they complimented each other, and now that is lost in a story that simply DID NOT NEED TO HAVE BEEN TOLD. 4) length - this game is unnecessarily long. It doesn’t appreciate the players time and gets extremely tedious right at the halfway point. 5) the infection- such interesting lore surrounding this world, which is impressive considering how bloated this genre is, and it was completely ignored and wasted.    … Expand

    One of the worst experience in Gaming. It hurts my feeling after playing this game. The visual are great for last-gen and gameplay has improved since part 1 (still getting bored after 3 hours playing), but these factors can't save the game. Because the story is the core of this game. Once it's suck, the whole game is f*cked up.

    One of the best and best looking games of all time. Naughty Dog has done it again. Controls are better and the story is strong, even though the end was suprising and some how weak because I didn't saw it coming.

    Haters are always gonna place bad reviews. Their lives must be miserabele...

    The biggest letdown of a sequel. Terrible narrative, a story that drags on and on, terrible depressing pointless ending, no multi-player this time around , tricky marketing for the game, and horrible pacing issues. Would never buy a part 3.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
