    First time reviewer. At initially, I was mad on how the story unfolded. I couldn't bear with what I perceive should be a sequel to one of the most belove game LOU1. Playing on for a few hours, it grew on me. One of the most artistic design on any console for the past decade. The world was fascinating. Seattle Felt like your own home. Pace was good.     Game just amaze on all levels. Amazing how journalists can sell ratings. Not bad game with tons of problems somehow rated 10 of 10 and even 12 of 10 instantly.

    I'm going to dive right into this. I LOVED THIS GAME!!! It made me feel responsible for once! most games I kill blindly and without remorse as there is no real emotional connection between you and the npc's. When you kill an NPC and another finds their body or sees them get shot there usually a cry out of pain and possibly a name relating to the seemingly real life you as the player justI'm going to dive right into this. I know a lot of negative reviews seem to focus on the fact that you don't agree with what Ellie is doing in this game. I think that this is the point. The game finally makes you feel bad for killing. I often times found myself stealth a lot more, to avoid killing NPC's. Unpopular opinion...I prefer the sequel to the first game. I love the aspect of walking a mile in another persons shoe's aspect. I love the love triangles, I love the artistic way they show comparisons between Ellie and Abby, I love the fact that they don't focus on Ellie being a lesbian as it should just be a normal thing, I love the real fear that a character you love might just die at any moment. The list goes on. 10 outta 10 would recommend!… Expand

    I never played the first part and I think that was a mistake. The Last of US Part II catched me like no other game before. The graphics are gorgeous and the music and effects are on place. The story hooked me like no game before.

    Absolutely stunning. The narrative is anything but safe, playing with expectations and emotions with a masterful grace. Some people don't like the story, but I found it to be one of the best I've ever experienced in a video game, far surpassing the first game. Plus, not only was the story incredible, but the gameplay, visuals, and music are masterpieces in and of themselves. Loved it, IAbsolutely stunning.     Overall for me it was an 8/10. Gameplay, visuals, sound, acting - all is 10/10 as you would expect from Naughty Dog. What made it an 8/10 was the story. Let me say this - it is super dark and depressive. If you thought the first game was depressive, well this whole game was like the cannibal section in the first game, but turned to 11. Like it's brutal, gory and unrelenting in its violence. Like it becomes uncomfortable at points for me. The story is structured in an unusual way. For me personally it made me very involved in the game but for some people the way it was presented was the biggest issue of the game. I will agree that the game is kind of an old take on a classic premise, but that is the same as saying the last of us was a cliché story about a zombie apocalypse. A lot of people were not happy about where the story went, but I believe that Naughty Dog does not owe them anything when it comes to creative liberties with the story. I agree with some reviewers that this should have been the 3rd game not the second and I kind of agree, but I also think that this game should not have existed in the first place. They should have left Joel and Ellie on their own as the first game kinda wrapped up their story rather well (IMO). If you liked the first game for it's gameplay and like great visuals then you will enjoy it just as much as I did. But some people seem to be butt hurt about the wrong reasons and I think they are just a bunch of crybabies who didn't get what they were imagining this game would be.     As someone who enjoyed the first last of us 2 this game was somewhat disappointing. Overall it’s a flawed corridor shooter that’s much weaker then the first game and questionable if they should have made the sequel. The graphics and world is easily the best part of the game and is one of the best looking and most detailed console game to date. The gameplay is pretty much copy and pasteAs someone who enjoyed the first last of us 2 this game was somewhat disappointing. The Ai is also pretty stupid and typical of modern video games. Story wise the game is a complete mess and at times feels like a badly written fan fiction by a high school student. The story has a strange structure and is a standard revenge story that’s been done since the beginning of civilisation. Ellie is still a well written and interesting character, however the supporting cast is weak and forgettable. Also the game make bizarre choices with regards to Abby, not really giving any reason for the player to like or care about her. Also the story tends to repeat itself and big chunks of could be removed and it would still play out the same. In short it fails to live up to its predecessor and offers very little replay value.… Expand

    I was a huge fan of the first game. I was fine with so many things in this game. The roles going to women and people of color. Totally fine with that. The writing is so bad, and the direction so abysmal that it made me NOT want to play the game. I wanted to give it a chance, but in the end, it was an absolute failure. A game that you want to like but the director makes you hate playing it? 0 out of 10.     This game is a masterpiece... It bought out some complex emotions within me that i never felt a video game could achieve... Amazing yet intriguing and deliberately divisive story... A techincal marvel and so on... Like i said a 10/10 masterpiece!

    The writing is trash, the story is a basic revenge plot, characters act outside of the rashionality of the.selves from the first game, hardly any new mechanics combat wise, very few assassination animations, very sad game that makes you feel bad with no optimism or hope.    … Expand

    Gosh - what a missed opportunity. The first game was so memorable. Probably a 10/10 overall, but certainly on its story, atmosphere, game play. They really could have taken it to new heights in TLOU2. Unfortunately - and for a reason I must not understand - it seems they deliberately wanted a car crash in this sequel.
    There are some exceptional executions in this. The graphics and    Gosh - what a missed opportunity. The first game was so memorable. Probably a 10/10 overall, but certainly on its story, atmosphere, game play. They really could have taken it to new heights in TLOU2. Unfortunately - and for a reason I must not understand - it seems they deliberately wanted a car crash in this sequel.
    There are some exceptional executions in this. The graphics and animation are first class and set a new benchmark. The gameplay, though same as previous, has some upgrades and is more fluid than before. The environments are very beautiful, though a bit same-same throughout the game.

    Where this one goes off a cliff - and the reason we judge it so harshly - is that the execution of the narrative (rather than the narrative itself) is jarring to the point of offensive when you hold it next to the superbly executed original. Many people are angry at WHAT happens. I'm fine with what happens. It's a bit like the comic of The Walking Dead or the book The Road... its a bad place and can be brutal. How it was put together was like a case of bad directing, to the point that it broke the immersion and made the journey to the end of the game more like a slog, not a desire to see what happens. And the ending, without giving anything away, is just plain bad and has you feeling empty wondering what was this all for - what a waste of time and lives.

    It's worse BECAUSE of the brilliance of the first. Similar to how The Godfather Part 3 was in part judged on how Part 1 & 2 were so fantastic.

    Some rearrangements on the play out of the story, some changes to the way characters seem to forget who they were in the first one, and perhaps even a toning down of the at-times grotesque violence (how showing the slaying of a pregnant woman is required or acceptable really is beyond me), and this would be a worthwhile successor.

    As it stands, it does the franchise a dis-service, and I will only watch for a third installment with half interest... I no longer really care about what happens in TLOU world.    … Expand

    Graphics is great. Levels are amazingly detailed. ND can push ps4 to its maximum. But the game... It's dull. Not even close to 10/10 and TLOU 1. After 20 hours not sure, if I'm going complete it. The first TLOU was a brilliant game. I hope this failure won't bury the studio. Or better to bury now?

    Honestly, this game was a masterpiece. Lot of people who didn't experience the game properly just looked at the story aspect of it and not the breathtaking gameplay aspect of it. Stop hating on this game just because some famous youtuber/streamer you follow hates it. If this was a Hideo Kojima game this game would have a 9+ user rating.

    Story telling at its finest. Could stop binge playing until the end. If you haven't played the game, play it and make your own mind about it. Don't let biased reviews stop you. For me it is one of the finest stories ever told in a game, even better than part 1.

The is different than any game i have ever played new experience that made me amazed, although my fav character died it doesn't make the game garbage its still amazing .
    The game is in my head till now since i finished it i can't stop thinking about it and that it self is success from the developers. I gave it a 9 because there were just some stuff that could have been improved but still a masterpiece that you should give a trymost of the people who hate the game never bought it so they decided to hate bomb the reviews hate on the game all for some leaks. I wanna tell you i have soiled the game for myself with some leaks but not too much but even though i hated the leaks i still loved the game and it made no difference to me a.     Gameplay : good but no change from the first one and it's been years. The system worked fine in the first series and not much complaints but wouldn't say it's improved. Also the characters are difficult to control from little bugs.

    Controller vibration feature was used so well. When you push things, cut scenes have an impact it really was adapted well and gave you the sense of being there.

    Sound : good I was on my toes the whole time!!!

    Story : poor. Absolutely poor. Long story short I think it would have been a beautiful game and story if you let better people like Clint Eastwood to direct and write the story rather than Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross. Would have had a better result with nicer touching story that made sense, and appealed to the audience.
    (Clint Eastwood won multiple awards from directing so don't you dare even go on that "art" nonsense)

    The plot did not make sense, it was not coherent. As you can see on most of the reviews the majority of people could not follow or understand the flow of the characters' thoughts and emotions.
    Is this because of the fact that a lot of characters went through extremely traumatising events and their mind is broken beyond repair (or changed their personality for good), or just poor storytelling?

    It was very hard to attach yourself to the story, that whenever difficult or tedious parts of game arise it made me wonder if I had any good reason to percevere on, spend my time and effort on this, and if I should drop it there.

    Different parts of stories were jumbled up in poor order and it made concentrating on the story and emotions difficult.

    They tried to mix in PC on top, and it was utterly awful.
    My definition of PC was that "you are defined by your action, not of what you are".

    In TLOU2 it seems all the characters are nothing but their gender identity. It does not matter what gender, race, or gender preference you have. There is nothing else other tha their gender identity to these characters. There is nothing to show them what kind of person they are. Ellie is nothing but a lesbian, the other character is nothing but a radical feminist symbolism. Another funny thing is they keep harping on PC the entire game but their so-called "PC" is awfully biased. There is hardly any Asian throughout the entire two series (apart from the crazy cult group that they don't even bother to elaborate the story onto). Even the doctor (who managed to race-swap from black to white), and nurses; there wasn't a single Asian. Funny when you think of how many Asians are in medical field. Are Asians more susceptible of spores in TLOU? Good medicines taste bitter on your tongue. It may not be a pleasant feedback but please listen for your own sake, if you want to get a "second chance" to make more games as you said.    … Expand

    TLOU Part II was a rollercoaster of emotions. The first moment of graphics had me blown away. Even on the original non-pro ps4 the visuals of this game were spectacular all the way through. The gameplay did feel to get a little repetitive but I didn’t mind it as much as in the first game. There seemed to be a more interesting balance of encounters between human / infected interactions.TLOU Part II was a rollercoaster of emotions. The first moment of graphics had me blown away. Even on the original non-pro ps4 the visuals of this game were spectacular all the way through. The gameplay did feel to get a little repetitive but I didn’t mind it as much as in the first game.     Геймплейно и визуально это лучшая игра всего времени но сюжет просто насилует игрока. Разработчики просто пустили в мусор весь труд которого мы добивались в первой части. Лично я не мог спокойно смотреть на флешбеки с Джоэлом. Я вырос с этим персонажем и считаю его одним из лучших персонажей всех времён. Я знал что Джоэл скорее всего умрёт, но это могли сделать красиво или в конце игры спасая Элли. Однако сценаристы решили что он заслуживает того чтоб перекачанная стероидами баба просто забила его клюшкой и харчок в лицо. А Эбби настолько не интересный и не прописанный персонаж что ты начинаешь за неё переживать только в финале потому что она скинула 15-20 кг. Для тех кто не играл в первую часть будет норм, а те кто играл думаю согласятся со мной.

    I think many of the decisions Naughty Dog made were made with the intention of affecting the player, not the characters. At times that meant betraying the nature of the universe they built since the first game. It is definitely an upgradeable product but we can’t deny the technical and artistic achievements of this game. Once again Naughty Dog evolves throughout the industry.

The combat is greatly improved with the addition of crawling and silencers, But the story was not satisfying. I see what they were going for but it wasn’t executed properly. It would’ve been good to start the game playing as her right in what are currently and basically flashbacks before Joel has a huge impact on her life. We would play her story until we hear Joel’s familiar voice, but without showing his character model to leave some secrecy. We then play what is the current beginning of the game until we reach the same point of Joel and Abby coming face-to-face and we go back to Abby’s perspective until Abby kills Joel. This would give her story the proper introduction and a satisfying conclusion. Then we play as Ellie as is currently in the game all the way through to the end. This would solve the unsatisfying gameplay conclusions. However, there is still the problem of the story shoving positive interactions from Abby and negative interactions from Ellie in order to attempt to make the player like Abby. This is manipulative and shows the developers knew that the character would be unlikeable due to the story thus far. It’s lazy and shows how little thought was put into the story. The gameplay and graphics can only do so much to bandage a game that has no multiplayer and is thus relying on it’s single-player story.… Expand

    - Gameplay is good. It's not perfect, but this is TLOU. Gameplay is meant to be kinda imperfect, but still reflects the atmosphere of the original.

    The Bad:
    - Plot Holes. Lots of them.
    - Character development. Is null at best. (Take this with a grain of salt, since i won't play this to the end). Feels rushed and regressed, compared to the original game.

    The Ugly:
    - The Story.... souless at best. You really don't care for the fate of the characters depicted, except for the two main characters from TLOU1. The writing compared with the original feels empty and void. It's like were written by a totally different author.

    I'm not going to spoil anything here, but since the game is so story driven, the story should have been treated differently. It feels like it was rushed and poorly developed. In this case, you can have the best music, graphics, etc. but if the story fails, the entire experience fails (Reminded me to Metal Gear Solid 2, which happens to have a similar treatment of characters and plot). You can have the best graphics but if the main point is the story, the game fails. And in my case, i just called a day, uninstalled and quit it. Maybe later will look for the ending on youtube or something, but at this point, i'm done with it.

    Not recommended. At all. (And if you have any disorder such as depression or anxiety, avoid this game at all costs). If you played TLOU1, stick with it, and stick with that ending.    … Expand

Yes,story is great but fails to prove it by its bad order of events happening and flashbacks within flashbacks. It would be great to play as Abby in the beginning. The gameplay is far better from the last title, the AI works a lot better,puzzles have more variety now and are more creative. The level of details is insane a I can only compare them with Red Dead Redemption 2.But again, the story could be a lot better with better pacing and narration.… Expand

    But I believe it was better that way. During the ending I was low key hoping Ellie would just end up forgiving Abby... And then it actually happened. We see a flashback to Elie preparing to forgive Joel and just as she was drowning Abby, she remembers this and realises that this isn't what he would've wanted. She forgives her.

    The whole point of her going back to kill Abby after settling in the farm was to find CLOSURE. She needed to stop seeing Joel everywhere. The only way to find that closure was by finishing this. But at the very end, she realises that just by forgiving her, she finds that closure she longs for. She is happy with her decision. That's what we all want.

    At the end, when no one is at the farm, it's not over yet. Dina and the kid most likely just went to live at Jackson since it must be lonely to live for months alone with a baby. We see Ellie going there as well to join her love and her son.

    People who say all this was a waste of time and that she killed all those people for nothing are only partially right. In the end, she got what she wanted. She released revenge doesn't solve everything.    … Expand

    I'm not going to sit around and say it's a perfect game, I think some characters lack the chemistry that Ellie and Joel had in the first game, but the characters progressed in a way that was not unearned. Ellie finding out what Joel did at the hospital driving them apart, as well as the guilt of not knowing.

    The gameplay was not entirely different from the first game, but there were some aspects it improved upon. I personally feel like the weight of the weapons you are using really shines through in this game, even if some times it can seem a bit unrealistically gory for extra cool points. The puzzles, however, were a pretty big let down. There were a few great ones scattered around, but I recall one specific instance where I found a safe and was preparing to look for clues on the combination. When I began to walk around the room I almost immediately stopped, seeing the whiteboard that contained the code for the safe not 5 feet away from it in giant letters.

    The plot, the area most people are bombarding with negative reviews, is not lacking in most regards. The previously mentioned lack of chemistry can mostly be chalked up to the phenomenal writing of the first game and how this story just fell short in some aspects, but comparing it to the old masterpiece makes it look far worse than it actually is, the characters are still likable and don't really force and political agenda (unless you consider the existence of other races and sexualities political).

    All in all, give the game a try, especially if you like the first game, it builds on the old story and gives perspectives that we weren't privy to before. It shows the reality of living in a more brutal world and the consequences of the first game really play out in this one. Don't be fooled by a bunch of people who never even played the game (since most of the negative reviews came out within hours of the game's release) I think you'll enjoy it if you don't actively try to look for reasons it would offend you.    … Expand

Jogo muito bom gráficos jogabilidade incríveis, acho q em questao de jogabilidade é o melhor jogo q ja joguei ,a história em si é boa mas eu como fã do primeiro fiquei decepcionado achei a morte do Joel muito rápida e um pouco forçada ele merecia uma morte um pouco melhor eu sei q em no mundo como esse não tem morte heróica mas no primeiro as mortes foi muito maís bem feita como a do Sam e do Henry dava muito bem pra eles fazer uma morte melhor nesse jogo trataram ele como se fosse um simples npc sendo q no primeiro nós passamos quase o jogo inteiro com ele… Expand

    The one thing Last of US was good at is the history and how it was directed. They throw everything away in this game. Graphics are nice, but that's it. Gameplay is dull just like the first game. Also, there is a obvious progressive agenda behind the game, which I don't think any game should have. Just imagine a game that support Trumps views, a lot of people won't like it.

    I wanted to like this game and waited since the first game but the story is awful.

    This is not a game, it’s MASTERPIECE. This game deserves to have sequel, everything was wonderful and perfect during my play through of this GAME OF THE CENTURIES.

    Don't listen to the user reviews a large portion of these were left before playing the game.

    Don't listen to any leaks and try not to base opinions on them if you have read them. Context is so important.

    This is one of the, if not the best game I've ever played. My wife and I loved it and I will definitely be doing more playthroughs I'm the future.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
