    Turn this game into a movie and you'd get a bad if not horrible movie
    But take all the movie out of this game and you'd have a pretty decent game.
    But no one's here for the gameplay so it's a massive disappointment. 4/10

    Complete and utter garbage that forces you to play as an abomination, going against many peoples religious beliefs and forcing the "woke brigades" views on unsuspecting players who were actually huge fans of the first game. Do not, i repeat, DO NOT, waste your hard-earned money on this filthy piece of propaganda.

    Amazing graphics and animation with some tweaks to the combat that makes it more fun than the first game but i was the story really disappointed me but thats just my opinion

    Despite technically sound game play and unbelievably stunning visuals TLOU 2 somehow manages to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, by trading the players painstakingly cultivated emotional investment in it's characters for narrative ingenuity and shock value.
    The experience sadly feels akin to drinking bile from pretty porcelain... Hard to stomach the beauty.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics is stunning and the music is atmospheric. Something expected in this generation of consoles. Lots of tiny details that makes the game interesting to play a bit.

    The general gameplay doesn't improve much from its predecessor. You sneak around, you engage in a firefight. I guess you can now swing on ropes.

    The story is something that didn't need to be told. The ending is the same is the first game, the player didn't end up doing the one thing they meant to do at the start of the game. However, the journey in the first game was worthwhile despite the destination. The journey in the 2nd game is excruciating. It's not enjoyable to replay considering the player is mostly alone for the most part. You spend a few hours to save a character that dies anyway. Nothing you do in the game seemed fruitful. Everyone lost everything they had. One gains a foster brother and a hope to meet an organization they used to be in despite everyone they know it in is already dead. Maybe it's a setup for the final game, the nail to Ellie's coffin? I can almost imagine the third game will be Ellie being forcibly killed for the vaccine by this surviving Fireflies group. Whatever the story will be, I won't bother finding out.    … Expand

    Fantastic game. Story, game-play, tension during fights, graphics, characters etc. I love it and does not deserve all that hate. I am huge PlayStation fan but I am not positive with a game if it is bad, would be hypocrisy of me. So I recommended!
    PS: I liked that they come up with something different, something that nobody would expect. I like this in every franchise.

    I think people were so caught up in "Revenge" that they missed all of these details.
    Plus i want to mention ellie isn't doing it purely for revenge but as a way to relive her PTSD. Ellie even mentions to Dina how she can't sleep or eat and she even had a panic attack on the farm. Every time she thinks of Joel, it's always his bloody beat up face. However, when she was drowning Abby, she finally saw a good image of him and was finally able to release all her grief. She had got what she came for and that was relief.    … Expand

Neil Drukmann (the writer) said that the relationship between Ellie and Joel was the most important thing to remember, he said "no one loves these characters as much as we did and the sequel would be about Ellie and Joel". He even said "he and the team had played games where you were other characters and they just didn't feel right, they pulled you from the main story"... "Part two will be about Ellie and Joels story and their relationship". And he told the truth, for about 7 hours anyway! Trouble is the game is about 25 hours long!

    Don't get me wrong, the Last of us Part 2 deliveres excellent gameplay, great graphics, music, mechanics and phenomenal gunplay. However, the storyline was an absolute mess.

    SPOILER... They kill a main character and some won't be happy... including me. Now It wasn't great, but I understand why they did it. Yes it was upsetting, but it was a great driver for every emotion Ellie had and her continued journey. But then (and this is the real kicker). You are then forced to play the game using the character that kills the main character mentioned earlier... for the majority of the game too. It make absolutely no sense. Add into this that the this character is a lifeless and utterly dislikeable character, made worse by her actions in killing one of the main characters.

    So the first part of the game (with Ellie) I thought was a 10/10. But the rest isn't enjoyable at all and you are left wondering when you will get to be Ellie again.

    Add into that the fact Naughty dog wanted to use the game as a platform to showcase every problem with LGBTQ issues in the world today. Again I have no issue with this being included in a game, but the sheer amount was too much. It ended up pulling you away from the main story and everything that made the first game so amazing and the platform it created.

    Also Naughty dog lied in the trailer by cutting in shots of Joel from the first game into the trailer to make people think they were going to play with Joel more and no mention of the twist that everyone hates!

    So at the end, after all the above. I haven't felt this cheated since the final season of Game of thrones!    … Expand

    The Good: Visuals and sound are remarkable. Level design is decent. New rope mechanic is nice.

    The Bad: Fist TLOU story was what made it one of the best games ever. TLOU2 story on another hand is garbage. Characters don't make me care about them at all and the ending is horrible.

They had a real opportunity to make this game something special, and instead made some very strange decisions with regard to the plot and characters. It seemed like it was made in the wrong order, would love to have developed sympathy with Abby and maybe have her work with Ellie before killing the main reason people loved the first game... To give it a zero is wrong, Objectively the graphics and animation is great, the game play is ok but highly repetitive and feels like a real slog towards the end. You have to credit the developers for the sheer effort that has gone into the game and for taking a risk with the story, it just didn't pay off for me. How anyone can give this a 10 and call it a masterpiece is beyond me, its a deeply flawed title but god bless if you liked it. Picking up the game second hand for £20 or so would be a fair shout.… Expand

    I give it a 10 because apparently i am not cry baby ... I have watched thousands of movies and in my experience when the story is stretch to maximum without any serious matter that changes the value and break from the block scheme that every part follows.

    What a disappointment. Awesome graphics but horribly written plot. Games are supposed to be fun for those playing. You forced a character down our throats that we hated so much. The narrative is so childish and insulting. Then to add insult to injury, their VP shows up on shows to tell us that our opinion does not matter. Really???
    Did you make the game to make yourself feel better?

    Shut down your brain for this game and do not go easier way by giving up on it early. Do not go shallow through your playtrough. Break out of own comfort zone and you will discover a lot about mental state of characters by emphatizing with them. Great game not the game of the generation but an unbelieveable bold achievement from Naughty Dog.

    A masterpiece. You might think you know with all the leaks but you actually don’t. Even better than the first one, Naughty Dogs did a wonderful job. I have so much to say but I don’t have the words to express how I feel about this game. Life-changing, periodt.

Поймите, насколько это часть гениальная, старая конечная, но стоит того. А потом купите и сыграйте во вторую часть, и поймёте, почему у людей бомбит.     The biggest reason why i ended this game was gameplay - its the best 3 person shooter on the market right now, just pure joy to play this game. Animations, sounds, level designs, weapon impact and customization its 10 out of 10.

    Probably one of favorite games of the year. For the first time in my life, a video game ACTUALLY made me cry... The ending really hit home for me. I honestly don't understand the controversy, this game is a God damn masterpiece.

    I think TLOU Part 2 is one of the best games in its genre. The original game has its own kick for sure, I mean first of all it was all brand new and the father/daughter relationship idea had its own catch. However, it had so many cliches, problems and kitch moments too. Second game, on the other hand, definetely has a more mature scenerio with more mature characters with a way deeperI think TLOU Part 2 is one of the best games in its genre. As for the TLOU2, I was looking forward to it for years. Played through it and the story totally ruined it for me. The game is beautiful, the gameplay is fine but the pacing is really weird and ruins the experience, the dialogues are cringy and it has a Hollywoody feel, and not in a good way. There are too many characters with no character depth and the decisions they make are just plain stupid at times. I will play it through one more time just to see what I missed but I can't see myself picking the game up after that ever again. No multiplayer also sucks. If they ever release TLOU3, I won't bother buying it. Now I wish that Naughty Dog had stopped after the first game and just ended the story there.… Expand

    This is such a negative game! The script is very bad after playing a couple of hours I had to return it. It doesn't make any sense to play it. I should become a lot of happiness but instead, I got a lot of disappointing moments. Is this the game for players? No, this is a game for critics and newspapers.

They want same game like firt part, and when it wasnt same, they was pissed. Yes The last of us part II is diferent game, this is not same game like first part. but it does not that bad game...on the contrary, this game is very very good. Character act really realistic. In world without our rules, they act is really realistic. It show both side of story. I really dont like playing for abby, but it was good for saw other sidei of story. it show her reason why she kill Joel.. Emotion in that scene and in all game was really realistic.
    gameplay is really good, seatle was beautiful, and all post apocalyptic world was realistic. This world is diferent from "our" new world = new rules.    … Expand

    This has been by far my favorite game of all time! The story was so compelling and the way the writers lead you to switch your opinions of the characters, especially Abby was amazing!     + Sound design - especially when modifying your weapon the details matter.
    + Level design - some really astonishing game design, especially in the aquarium.
    + The "back in time" missions with Joel and Ellie.

    Then, what I absolutely hated about the game:
    - Killing main character based on choices he wouldnt make in the first place. 0 logic there.
    - Abby!!! I honestly felt disgusted playing this character. I had to motivate myself extremely to play as her. There is absolutely nothing to like about her. - Also the whole buffed body doesn't make any sense... Women apparently didn't have any time to shave their armpits, but they do have time to consume steroids. Yeah, makes sense... It felt too forced, but since Abby had to lift **** move **** carry **** and needed to be a woman, oh...lets make her then unrealisticly strong as hell.
    - The storyline. It felt I was playing a political agenda. This was making the game almost impossible to enjoy. I don't want you to force your thoughts on me, eventhough we may think the same.
    - The ending. The last mission made 0 sense. I think it perfectly resembles how the director had no idea what the previous game made it so good.

    In conclusion, I will never forgive Naughty Dog for screwing up such a great game and potential. Please never make a 3rd one.    … Expand

    I loved the first part and I love this Game too.
    The atmosphere and graphics are breathtaking. The main characters are amazing, real humans with awesome expresions and details in face and movement. The game is a feast for the eyes. The Story ist fantastic, deep and created with a lot of thoughts and passion. I can't understand, why it is so hated by a lot of people. Story felt like a slog especially the second half (couldn’t get invested in the new characters at all). It felt like unnecessary padding added to the game at some points.     The original the last of us is one of my favourite games ever made. I am not one of those people who felt it did not need a sequel as the story of the first game had such a perfect ending. I have every faith in Naughty Dog that whatever game they make will be of the utmost quality as they have such an incredible track record. I was right not to be concerned, this game is incredible.

    I will not spoil anything here as the less you know the more you will enjoy it. What I will say is that the story is not afraid to take risks and is far better off for it.

    But of course this isn't just about the story, it is about the gameplay and everything else in between, it is all top notch. It runs very smoothly, combat encounters are tense and memorable. The kills are brutal and you will often hear screams of agony and enemies calling out names, which adds to the realism and immersion.

    It is also very violent, you can almost feel Ellies hatred when she kills people involved in a horrific incident early in the game, I love panning the camera around to Ellie when she is taking down an enemy from behind, you can clearly see the hatred etched on her face.

    Some people may disagree with the direction the story takes and some of the actions taken by the lead characters, but I personally feel very pleased with how the story panned out.

    Every single environment feels incredibly detailed, I was desperate to explore everything I possibly could, there are plenty of secrets to be found as well as quite a few Easter eggs. This game demands exploration and I genuinely felt saddened when I realise there was something that I missed.

    I cannot recommend this game enough, you may have heard people complaining a lot about the story and yes it is divisive, but I think it is much better because of it.

    I finished it 2 weeks ago and have not been able to stop thinking about it since.

    For me, this is the best action and combat that has ever existed for a third person game, in fact I would go as far to say it is the best gameplay of any game of all time. This game really stretches the limits of what a game can be. This is without a doubt a next gen game not a ps4 game. The graphics are spectacular.

    Naughty Dog have really set the bar with the level design as well, the level design is so complex and every encounter can be played out 5-6 different ways.

    Now the story. Without spoiling it. It just didn't resonant with me, it was so dark. Too dark. The story focuses on revenge but also redemption which I think a lot of people miss the mark about. However, the problem is, can some acts be redeemed? For me, no. Due to this, I think some of the characters remain unlikable due to their actions and I could not forgive them and I felt like Naughty Dog were trying to force you to like certain characters due to their struggles but I could not forgive. That is just me though. Everyone will experience the story differently. This game really made me question my morality or what is right and wrong. I think everyone will interpret this game differently which is another strength of the story. However my final closing thought of the story is, not only did I not really enjoy it and it didn't win me over, the concepts the game and how it tries to test you with are actually not that deep and I do not think anything the story does could be classed as 'new' or 'ground breaking'.

    This game does not deserve the hate it has received, you can't dislike a story so much that you ignore all of the pros of this game. That is why you have to take user reviews with a pinch of salt, or in this case a truck load of salt.    … Expand

The gameplay was ok. Melee combat is brutal and filled with gore however some of Ellie’s take downs felt inefficient. Many times it felt like if Ellie was a couple seconds quicker you wouldn’t have been seen by a enemy. Gunplay is the same as the previous game where it’s a bit of rng. It’s ok. The ai in the game was all over the place. Sometimes they would flak or surround you. Other times they would lose sight even though they clearly see you walking around a wall to hide. Also the scavenging and puzzles to open up safes was refreshing at first but by act 2 it wore out. The story was filled with coincidence after coincidence. It’s storytelling shinned in some parts, (mainly flashback) but it was overall it was worst than the previous game. For example the way Ellie sang take on me just matched the tone of the apocalyptic world. It gave out a theme of trying to make the most of you have before its gone. Other times the story failed in its character building. A little over half way through the game Jesse show up by out of no where. (Complete Coincidence) The game only gives about half of the second act and half of the third to get to know him. As as was staring to like him he is killed off. I didn’t react at all cause there was no time to connect to him. Many of the games characters are like this. Many times I just wanted to move on and get to the gameplay.… Expand

If you are expecting a carefully crafted story with believable characters be prepared to be disappointed. The entire storyline is like some sort of fanfiction or comic book like story arcs with supervillains.

    Overall, this game deserves less than 1 it simply does not reward the player with believable characters or satisfying gameplay. Even ignoring any story elements one cannot see much improvement in gameplay since last of us 1. When you are paying $60 for a brand new flagship Sony Game you expect that the gameplay will introduce new satisfying elements but Naughty Dog falls short. Lastly, it seems the creative direction of this game was a lot more influential in including many cutscenes rather than improving gameplay mechanics.    … Expand
