    By far the most immersive 3rd person game I've ever played. Beautiful top notch graphics ,animations and gamplay mechanics. This game truly sets the bar on what should be expected from AAA games. Saying this game is only a 5.5 is ABSURD!!

    I won't even rate the gameplay or graphics, therefore there is nothing to complain about and no other PS4 game does it better. There are tons of things I could praise, but in a nutshell, I am just trying to remember what was the last time a game made me feel how I felt after I finished The Last of Us Part II.     I loved the first one so purchased part II in digital version. But this part two, I cannot understand why the story is like this - really don't like the story as a player who loved the previous one. Like others, it broke my heart and felt bad while playing the game especially the later part of the game. It should have had better story.

    An amazing game, with emotions punching me left and right. Surprises I never expected. God-tier animations, arguably next-gen. Much improved gameplay over the first one. Did not expect Naughty Dog to have a game on par and exceeded the first Last of Us.

So it hurts to say this, but this game is truly awful. The game gave up on a good story and instead tried to force its agendas down my throat. (I support the LGBT community fully anyway.)     I was looking forward to the The Last of Us 2, however I was left bitterly dissapointed with the direction the game took especially after the enjoyment i got out of playing the first one.

    Great game in all its aspects. In my opinion, the story is good, and its something i've never seen before, leaving me emotionally devastated tbh. The only reason im not giving it a 10/10 is because of some pacing problems in certain points of the story. No, its not as good as the first one, but its an excellent game.

Хорошая ли эта игра или не очень. Если раньше многие игры от Naughty Dog люди проходили на Youtube, то с The Last of Us Part II так не работает.     Что мне понравилось или не понравилось в игре ? Начнём с хорошего, мне понравилась геймплейная часть игры, также мне понравилось проработка сюжета. Пусть он и на любителя, но всё-таки многие игры уступают в своем повествование, нежели The Last of Us Part II . Так, что в ближайшие пару лет у этой игры будет мало конкурентов ! Так же очень важно, что игру надо проходить не спеша, исследовать каждый уголок и тогда она тебя больше затягивает. Локации стали намного больше и это не может порадовать. Общее прохождение игры заняло у меня около 40 часов !
    Что мне не понравилось, так это толерантность в игре. Да, многие говорят,что игра не об этом, а о мести, взаимоотношениях главных персонажей и о прощении. Так оно и есть, почти:) Если бы Элли сделали асексуальной или просто не разглашали её ориентацию и Эбби сделали не такой накаченной, то на сюжет это бы не так сильно повлияло, так мне кажется. Хоть нам и объясняется, почему Эбби стала такой, по мне если бы её заменили на накаченного мужика, то мало что изменилось) Геймплей с одной стороны хорош, но с другой в нём нет серьезных инноваций. Хотелось бы в следующей части увидеть больше нового, не только графическую чать игры:) Единственный персонаж к которому я не привязался, так это Дина. У меня к ней не было абсолютно никаких эмоций. Не знаю почему, но вот сложилось.
    Есть ли у меня желание вновь перепроходить игру ? Да, думаю еще пару раз я её перепройду:)
    Считаю ли я, что концовка была сплошным разочарованием ? Нет, концовка была безупречной. Именно она и раскрывает всю игру.
    Будет ли третья часть The Last of Us ? Тут ответ не однозначен, Naughty Dog сами решат. Может нам дают повод пофантазировать ? Элли может вернутся в Джексон и начать жизнь с чистого листа или просто стать изгоем ? А может повествование затронет Эбби, как она наконец-то добралась до Цикад и они начали строить новый мир ? Как говорится, время покажет ;)

    Great story and characters. Best game of the decade. Any plotholes can be filled by DLC (Which I hope they do.) Well worth the price of admission - thank you Naughty Dog and team for taking me for this ride.

    Now gameplay: if ypu like the gameplay in TLOU part one you will like this one, it's mostly the same with some variants and new weapons and options, the exploration for resourses and upgrades it's untouched . new enemies as well that you will need to lean how to dealt with an 8/10
    the story the most cotrovertial parto of all the game, i like it, but its not for everyone, you need to throw your expectations of what you want to see, and go to live what it is. The themes of moral grays and bad desitions are one of the main focuses, the mirror that is abby to Ellie and viceversa. how hate, anger, vengaence just leads to nothing and destruction. how someone can throw love, stability, family and everything they have in live just for anger. It leaves you thinking what was the point of all. and thats a bitter sweet conclution to a bitter sweet wolrd, my only problem besides some chessy dialogle its that at some points the pasing of the story feel aticlimactic, that i would have been presented the same events but in a differet order. but besides that its a compeling stoty with struggling chracters that you will learn to love, hate, cringe and lots of things. 9/10    … Expand

    A very moving game. The differing point of view was challenging at first... But it should be. These characters aren't inherently good. They aren't inherently evil. They are in a brutal world, and make the best choices they can (complete with their flawed humanity).     It’s daring, unafraid of eschewing a safe narrative that would’ve cashed in on the emotional heft of the first game. The game made me consider that the idea of good/bad, right/wrong is often simply a product of perspective. It also looked at revenge and its ultimate futility and inability to fulfill or set right. The game is also about mercy, small or as large as they may be.

    I loved the new characters introduced, and enjoyed that the new playable character Abby had a different set of skills and strengths than Ellie. Playing Ellie as a ninja, relying on stealth to then play as Abby and not be afraid to get into a heads up fight was really interesting.

    Overall, the gameplay felt so good, and almost like what I would’ve wanted out of a more focused and story driven MGS5. I also liked the flirtation with some open world elements and could’ve even went for more of it, but this is a Naughtydog story based affair, so the linearity made sense.

    This game just worked for me on every level, and exceeded my expectations. I’m very glad I avoided the leaks and went in only peripherally aware that a controversy existed.

    The pacing at times felt slightly off, probably my biggest gripe. And some moments were downright painful or punishing but to me the game’s ability to make me go to those places was satisfying to me. It may not be for everyone, but it was definitely for me.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My first time through this game, I was definitely outraged how the story played out. I was more irritated by playing Abby. Gameplay and environment was beautiful and compelling. After the finishing the game, I had an epiphany about the whole story and my experience about it: I went about it in such a close-mined way, that I had to replay it again. From my first play through, I already knew that there were many layers in the story that are so reflective and relatable. This chaotic world demonstrates the usual elements of hate, love, acceptance, revenge, and forgiveness. What they did with all of this was special. Sure, this is a post-apocalyptic world, but to a certain point we should expect people, especially loved-ones to die-be it by a reasonable or nonsensical chain of events. Its life...and I believe they tried to make this as realistic as possible. So RARELY do we in real life truly accept and practice "walk in their shoes." Wether we liked it or not, we also ventured into this world in Abby's footsteps (as excruciating as it was because of what she did). I felt so deeply conflicted as both Ellie's and Abby's worlds collided, because I came to understand their actions. Not only that, the music and incorporation of Joel's and Ellie's bond over the guitar added such a haunting, riveting, and beautiful touch, and what that came to symbolize throughout the story-it was impactful! Also, anyone else think the controller's directional pad was cleverly used in this game for the guitar?? Through such a dark world and truly understanding the characters, who is REALLY at fault? Joel, Ellie, or Abby? Its quite interesting that Joel's love for Ellie created such a dark domino effect. How often is love misinterpreted that later makes us reflect, understand, forgive, and accept love's true intentions before it is too late or have lasting consequences. I believe we saw all of this as everything that I mentioned was simply just a generalization of what this game has to offer. This is a game that deserves your attention...what a story to say the least.… Expand

I tried to get through it a second time because I believe to really appreciate something you should do it twice, but I couldn't. I got so bored that I quit my second play through during Ellie's second day in Seattle. It lacks everything that makes the first game so memorable and fun.     남들은 망겜이다 뭐라들 하지만 나는 이렇게 기술적으로 완성도 높고 경이로운 수준의 연출로 재밌게 플레이한 게임이 없었음. 스토리도 아쉬운 부분이 없진 않지만 수긍할 수 있는 수준이고 참신한 시도도 좋았음. 그리고 나름 이 겜임이 평화와 반전의 메세지도 담고 있어서 좋았음!

While the game's accessibility is among the best out there, providing a gateway for those less skilled and a challenge to those looking for a thrill, as well as looking and sounding phenomenal in terms of graphics, sound design, music and voice acting, the story felt shallow and pointless the whole way through, the gameplay loop can become repetitive, and with an unlikable character you're forced to play as for half the game getting the win in the end, I never at any point felt satisfied with how the story played out. I nearly cried at some scenes, genuinely smiled at others, but after leaving, I left with no real impact from the game's messages and tone, mostly since it seems like a game that came out ten years too late with its "revenge and violence are never the answer" themes. If you wanted me to feel bad for killing the people trying to kill me, the right decision is to let me understand them through the eyes of the person they've hurt most, Ellie, and let me decide their fates.

    What we have instead is a game that, at every turn, tells you that people must die to progress the story, then shifts focus in a shallow attempt at making you feel guilty for playing the game. Niel Druckman mentioned that this game wasn't meant to be fun. And truthfully, that is exactly true for this game, he hit the nail on the head. In that regard, he has my respect. But I am of the camp of people who firmly believe that players should have some input or incentive to play the game. If you do not make the game fun, people will stop playing. People will quit halfway through, and the story you've created would no longer matter, simply because there were more gripping stories out there, or more engaging games.

    If you wanted to create a movie, then create a movie. But it isn't one I would want to watch. I'm a more grown person now, one who can appreciate many things about a game. But if I cannot have any fun in the supposed magnum opus, the greatest masterpiece of all time, then maybe it doesn't deserve to be called a masterpiece after all. It's flawed in story, gameplay, and even emotion. Because at the end of the day, I left it feeling completely thoughtless. It felt like a mediocre fanfiction. I can appreciate the game for what it's done on a standpoint of presentation and accessibility. But nothing beyond that.

    In summary, The Last of Us 2 is a visual and auditory spectacle, but that's about all you're getting; spectacle. With how much blood is shed and guts are spilled, it's baffling how little this game shocked me with any plot beats or twists, or even in terms of its visual style. Truthfully, in a decade or so, this game's graphical achievements will be trumped by something else. And when that happens, it will fade into nothing but a memory for me.    … Expand

But they are presented too plain, and you don't feel the impact, you are supposed to.     The story didn’t go how I expected, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The graphics are incredible and the gameplay doesn’t lose excitement throughout the 25+ hour campaign. A true masterpiece in my opinion.

This game is exquisite to play, the story content, and character development didn't go the way I wanted it to...but I was holding so fast to who the characters were before.     I'm not judging based on graphics or gameplay, just the story. The story is everything to me in a game because if I'm not happy with the story I'm not having a good time. This game ruined all of the enjoyment I received from the first game. Last of us 2 somehow managed to ruin 2 games with this one due to horrible writing.

    Even though hated by many, The last of Us part II is a masterpiece. The story may be terrible for some, but even these people who criticize the story acknowledge that the gameplay and the graphics are completely amazing. The story is not bad, it's really different from what it was expected, but it's still impressive, it has great characters and a worthy finale.

Many of these negative reviews were put up within hours of the game being released when it should have taken well over a day (without food or pee breaks) to even complete the game, let alone contemplate it enough to write a review. However, if you are still considering playing this game, don't let the negative user reviews mislead you. Understand that TLOU 2 is a dark and mature piece of fiction, but give it a chance. I'm not joking when I say I think this game is a masterpiece.

    The gameplay doesn't change up a whole lot from what already worked in the original game, but it still adds some welcome new mechanics that give the player more freedom and choices. In addition, Naughty Dog has included a plethora of accessibility options so that pretty much anyone can enjoy the game. They've also put a technical marvel on display here! From the graphical fidelity, the motion capture, the incredible animation and acting, the riveting musical score, those hilariously realistic rope physics, and the terrific sound mixing, TLOU 2 does it all better than any previous Naughty Dog game. Actually, it does that all better than any game I've ever played! Not to mention it does it all at a very stable 30fps at 1080p or 1440p depending on your console.

    The sense of atmosphere is also an incredible feat. In fact, there are many moments where the sense of dread and anxiety might be overwhelming for those not accustomed to such intense games. TLOU 2 mostly takes place in a harsh cordycep-infested Seattle, where most of the residents have only survived as long as they have by being ruthless and cruel, and for you to survive, this game will require you to be the same. These residents of Seattle have divided into factions and appear to be locked in an endless cycle of violence with one another. While not everyone within is ruthless and cruel, the ones that are often have more than enough determination and resources to do as they please, regardless of the consequences.

    The pacing and editing here is also master-class and unique. There are a number of flashback sequences this game has to juggle, and each sequence involves different perspectives, characters, and years. Yet, each flashback arrives at the perfect moment in the story and avoids the pitfall of becoming messy and confusing. With each flashback, a new layer of the story will peel back and earlier story beats may now make more sense or have new depth added to them.

    With all that said, let's talk about the story, the source of all the vitriol and controversy. In my opinion, the story here is vastly superior to the already excellent story of the original TLOU. It has more emotional impact, the characters have more depth, and the stakes are much higher and more personal. TLOU 2 is presented as a revenge story and while revenge is important since it is the fuel that drives our characters (to some seriously dark and disturbing places, I might add), it is reductive to claim the story is nothing more than: "Revenge Bad". TLOU 2 actually tackles many complicated themes such as love, grief, forgiveness, tribalism, individuality, humanity, and obsession. As I said earlier, the story is also edited in a very unique and interesting way that I believe only a video game could succeed at. Suffice it to say, the story will have you actively engaged and you will find yourself pushing forward, eager to learn more.

    Well, for most of you anyways, and that's the true tragedy of all this. This game is releasing in one of the most divisive and toxic times in recent history. TLOU 2 includes powerful female leads and LGBTQ+ characters in its story and for some bigots that proved unacceptable. The most generous and forgiving explanation I have to explain the rest of the backlash is that the story simply wasn't what some people wanted. However, to say this game has a "bad story" is simply wrong. Objectively, the story of TLOU 2 is quite brilliant! Naughty Dog took much bigger risks here and they clearly had their minds made up on what kind of story they wanted to tell, and in my opinion they delivered. Yes, the story broke my heart at times and made me cry, but it also made me smile and laugh and instilled a sense of hope. I honestly couldn't tell you the last time a game affected me so! Sure, the story is dark and intense and that won't be to everyone's liking, and it may not be to yours, but after finishing it, you cannot say it was told poorly. I loved The Last of Us and I loved its sequel. If you played the first game and loved it, as long as you approach the sequel with an open mind, I'm sure you'll love it too.    … Expand

    For me, This sequel doesn't reach the heights of the original game. The graphics and gameplay are outstanding, yet the plot in some parts just falls short, especially where a major character's storyline is not done any justice. Still a great game and a must-play.

    Very bad, unreasonable plot and logic, which is very uncomfortable. If the theme is forgiveness, then don’t hurt the player’s emotions and force the player to make a choice of forgiveness (there is no choice). This is called moral kidnapping.

    Masterpiece. Of course graphics are unbelievable, better than 99,9% of games on PC, the gameplay is so enjoyable, I would very much love a secondary mode to fight against IA without story, just to play with this nice gameplay (I hope the multiplayer mode soon). And of course the story is so well built.

The continuous cycle of revenge seeking between the main characters is not an original ideal but was still ok in its own right. The relationship between Ellie and Dina had promise but the devs seemed to rush things at the end making Dina seem kinda whiney and selfish. The killing off of Joel so early in the game did rub me the wrong way and then having to play as his murderer Abby for half the game was added fuel to the fire. I understand it was to avenge her dad but her pops was going to dissect a little girls brain and then have Joel murdered as soon as they got to mercy hospital makes me feel like he had it coming. Abby did have some bright spots in her play through but most of the time it was her confiming how I really felt that she was a cold hearted turd and didnt have much else going for her. The fighting was sharper but still basically the same as part 1. To be honest my favorite scenes involved Ellie and Joel whether it was present time or flashback sequences and after beating the game I went back and played part 1 again to realise how many little things I missed. One thing in particular was a scene with Ellie telling Sam how she was afraid of being all alone one day right before he turned into a runner then coming full circle with that fear at the end of part 2. Also the rattlers were just thrown in there as bullet fodder with out having a stand alone boss fight or baddy to take down like David in part 1. All in all part 1 gave me great memories with awesome character development and then part 2 stole it all away.… Expand

    I think this game was a great sequel for what the writers are trying to achieve. You were able to play as a protagonist and antagonist in the story who were in the end both just trying to survive and both seeking revenge. The ending was great and led to an epic fight scene. I’m very Satisfied with how it ended and I’m hoping they release a third one.

Die Grafik ist gut und das Gameplay ebenfalls nur das Ende hat mich ein wenig gestört weil, Ellie eigentlich die Gelegenheit hatte Abby töten, aber ich kann auch ein wenig nachvollziehen warum Ellie es nicht getan hat.     I'd start by saying from a technical standpoint the game is phenomenal and the gameplay is excellent, however TLoU is a game for its narrative and story charm and this one disappoints.

    The story do away with the main character and start going in so many narrative branches to the point where it becomes a mess and in the end it accomplishes nothing.

Пока играл заметил много багов, тестеры видимо багов не искали, а просто играли в игру. Стелс далеко вперед не ушел, но щелкуны стали намного умнее! Конечно, бывало что они зажимали меня к стенке, и я ничего не мог сделать. Механика клацанья кнопок ушла назад, теперь чтобы открыть что то, я должен зажимать треугольник, а не тыкать по нему.
    Графон меня очень сильно порадовал! Моя слимка справляется с игрой очень хорошо, и даже сильно не шумела(В фортнайте она у меня и то шумела сильнее). Я наделал очень много классных и красивых скринов!
    Теперь о сюжете. По поводу сюжета у меня язык не поворачивается сказать что то нормальное, это полный провал игры. Я не буду ничего говорить про фем-лгбт повестку, это уже все и так давно знают. Джоэла убили самым глупым способом, при том что Эбби знала только имя Джоэла и то что он живет в Джесконе. Но, самое главное, что Эбби НИКОГДА НЕ ВИДЕЛА ДЖОЭЛА! Концовка это вообще отдельный вид искусства, Элли кромсала всех направо и налево, в конце она может убить Эбби, но она её отпускает! И не нужно говорить что тут есть "сакральный смысл", Элли не знала всей истории от лица Эбби, она должна была прийти и убить её!
    Ну, я сказал все. Моя оценка игре 4/10 2 балла за графон, 1 за механику, 1 за сюжет.
    UPD: Про сюжет немножко обманул. В игре были хорошие моменты, но это только тогда, когда нам давали поиграть за маленькую Элли.    … Expand

    I will be the first to say we need more gay, trans, and people of all colors in video games and in the gaming industry. This piece of **** game supports none of those communities. It is repetitive, boring and stale and includes minorities like some kind of checklist. It is a betrayal of the spirit of the last game and I wish I could erase it from my mind.

    Technically impressive and beautiful game in terms of appearance and a story may be the smartest game stories, but I do not think that story that I have been waiting for years and the observed frequency in the game environments may be one of the most prominent negative aspects of the game and some may notice some types of propaganda that were It is better to avoid them in this game

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
