    Well, The Last of Us Part II is not the most important game in the franchise, nor is it a revolutionary game at its base or in its gameplay. It also brings striking scenes and emotions with very impactful deaths. Another thing I liked was that the game got bloodier and more realistic, addressing heavy topics (such as pregnancy, revenge, grief, loss and insanity). Speaking of gameplay, it is not very different from the first one and as I said up there "it is not revolutionary", but it still has some small improvements. Another positive point is that the places were more open, with stores with intensity that can help you. Containing parallel stories that even connect with events. The only thing that took some of my immersion out of the game was the artificial intelligence that is still kind of stupid compared to the first but that's it Besides, the game is incredible and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in the gaming world.… Expand

    The game was amazing from the moment I turned it on, to the moment it ended I was holding my breath and enjoying every little detail about it. don't know why the hate is here because it was an amazing game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Although I was fully onboard the hate train when I read the story leaks, after completing the game I'm forced to admit how wrong I was. TLOU Part II isn't a totally airtight story, but it's still an incredibly stirring one. People who say this is simply a revenge story are mistaken. The Last of Us Part II is a story of forgiveness. In a lot of ways, it's exactly the story we expected after the first game's ending -- Ellie comes to realize the truth about what happened to the Fireflies, and must cope with Joel's actions on her behalf. Part II is exactly that; a story about Ellie learning to forgive Joel through the sheer brutality she puts herself through. The only twist, is that this forgiveness and understanding of Joel's choice comes posthumously, which only makes it all the more emotional.

    As for the rest of the game... The gameplay is a huge improvement over the first. Everything from the gunplay, the stealth mechanics, and even character movements are vastly improved. Levels are beautiful and sprawling. There are some set pieces here that make the first game seem lame at times. This is of course enhanced by the gorgeous graphics, which may be the best I've seen in any console game, ever. The music too, is a haunting addition to the already dark story.

    It's a game that's going to be misunderstood for a long time, but I've been thinking about it for days now, and to me that's the mark of a masterpiece.    … Expand

    The way the stories of Abby and Ellie merge is amazing and the ending is a tear jerker. Definitely recommend this to everyone and don't listen to the haters, at least try for yourself.    … Expand

    [I will not be discussing specific plot details in my review] I will start by saying I am a huge fan of this series, and I have been since I finished the first game within a week of its release. Even with my massively high hopes and expectations, I had a great experience with this sequel. ND had a lot to live up to, and they certainly took some risks with the bold plot decisions and[I will not be discussing specific plot details in my review] I will start by saying I am a huge fan of this series, and I have been since I finished the first game within a week of its release. Even with my massively high hopes and expectations, I had a great experience with this sequel. ND had a lot to live up to, and they certainly took some risks with the bold plot decisions and ambitious writing. What I will say is - I avoided almost everything about this game before it was released. Hardly paid attention to so much as a trailer amongst the chaos of the leaks etc. By doing so, I had no pre-existing views on this game whatsoever, and allowed myself to experience it on a completely blank slate with an open mind as I'd intended. There are so many fantastic things to take away from this game that people are completely overlooking because of the things they dont like. I personally love the gameplay, as its familiar with regard to the first game and doesn't stray away from what we know and grew to love, however it's still been healthily adjusted in ways to be smoother and very enjoyable with a few new touches to it. I played it through on Survivor difficulty for my first go at the game, which was a refreshing challenge. You really have to be conscious of your resource consumption, and have to make the effort to explore the areas you come across to get the most out of your travels. I think the stealth side of the encounters is very thorough and enjoyable, while being very tough at times. The same goes for a more aggressive, gun-based approach none the less. NPC behaviour is much less predictable and you have to be very patient. I'd recommend playing this game on a harder difficulty to get the most out of it honestly. If you are one of the more veteran fans of ND games, there're are a few nice Easter Eggs to be enjoyed through the game if you take some time to look around. On that note, the treasure-hunting side of it is quite comparable to that of Uncharted, yet the lore within the many artefacts you will discover is incredibly detailed and adds a whole new layer of depth to what's already going on through the game. The artwork is amazingly detailed as I'd expect, and the scenery/settings just look fantastic wherever you are. I am also massively fond of the composer of this series. As a musician myself, I found I really appreciated how great the compositions are, and felt they were executed incredibly well through the game. These are some elements that particularly stood out for me. Now to confront the negative responses to this game... I believe a vast amount of the players aren't even attempting to enjoy or understand some of the elements of the game that make it a great experience... I dont necessarily think it is absolutely flawless, and I can appreciate genuine criticism that is put forward reasonably of course. There were decisions in the story that didn't just sit right with me at first, and I'd have to let them sink in over the course of the game. I eventually came to understand the parts that I initially met with scepticism. I wouldn't expect everyone to have the same views as myself on it and that's fine. But I am seeing a ton of very shallow, limited criticisms that are presented very bitterly, and just seem completely sheepish as far as I'm concerned. Not only that, but I have seen some takes on certain things that are just so dim-witted that I can't even take them seriously, since the people putting such judgements forward obviously lack the compacity to think over a story on a deeper level and are completely misundersting aspects of the plot in the game. Furthermore, last time I checked, not even half the owners of this game had actually completed it themselves. Funny how there's an overwhelming amount of loud negativity towards the title when you consider this right? Play it with an open mind and form your own opinion. I wish people's approaches weren't so narrow-minded and that they thought for themselves for a change... Anyway, that's how I see it. I don't mean to rant on this, but some of you will understand where I'm coming from, others will write off the game and everything I'm saying because they are blinded by resentment and pre-existing opinions already. It is what it is. I hope some of you can take the positives from this game amongst anything you may not like as much, and form a genuine, balanced opinion on it once you have finished it. How one can score this game as low as 0 is absurd to me. It isn't as if no effort has been put into making it, but you would think so based on some of the irrational, compulsive reviews people throw around online on very limited grounds.

    I hope anyone who hasn't already experienced TLOU Part II can take my review on board and approach the game with an open mind like I did myself, and you may just find you are able to throughly appreciate what this title has to offer.     The plot expands in this zombie apocalyptic world and tells a beautiful story through using relatable and complex characters. The choices in this game feel very realistic, and Naughty Dog does an excellent job in forcing the player to question the morality of their decisions. Each character has their own perspective of how they came into this cruel reality. When given conflicts amongst one another, we begin to understand a powerful concept in that there are no right and wrong decisions in this game, but a complex plot setup by characters who are trying to survive on their own. There were several times where we start rooting for one character, only to understand the story from a different perspective and disagree completely from the initial character, a sign of compelling story telling.

    There is a lot of backlash amongst players over the journeys of some of the game characters and where the story ended. Unlike many video game stories, Last of Us Part II committed to a reality where actions have consequences. The game does not offer a fairy tell ending but instead prioritizes a plot consistent with its dark and well developed themes. This is where the game truly shines: taking daring and controversial steps that aren’t conventionally found in video games. If there is any hope for the storytelling in video games to meet the quality found in literature or film, these narrative risks need to be celebrated in these rare instances that they are taken.    … Expand

    While this game MAY have decent gameplay (although it's just the same, actually less puzzles, as the first), what Naughty Dog and Sony did surrounding this game makes it a 0/10. Period. All of those 10/10 positive reviews have been PROVEN to be faked by bots. The long story about this game is DO NOT buy this game, DO NOT support Naughty Dog at all.

    Dentro de las criticas negativas, veo a muchos que hablan sobre lo que le sucede a Joel y como eso arruino el juego o sobre la introducción forzada de Abby, pero nadie hablando sobre lo mal que estaba la relación entre Joel y Ellie y que si no fuera por lo que sucede probablemente no se hubiera arreglado.
    En fin, hay muchas opiniones sobre la historia y obviamente hay que respetarlas, pero me parece que en la comunidad hay muchos que no saben valorar lo que es el enorme talento de los trabajadores y la inmensa profundidad del juego, mas allá de si el juego sea ambicioso o no, el gameplay y los gráficos son de los mejores que he visto la banda sonora no es de sorprender que también los sea, en general el juego final esta muy logrado y eso es algo que no se debe pasar por alto.

    Sincerely, i am a very dependable game. I waited for years for this game and was totally disappointed on the direction the game took, totally losing the origins of what was the first game. Repetitive gameplay, but the only positive point is the graphics, so i wont give it a 0.

The open concept section is refreshing but much of the game is the same "on rails" concept which is fairly old for naughty dog st this point. The gameplay itself is better bit gets stale after awhile. The crafting system is pretty good but starting over half way through is somewhat frustrating. The third act was nearly pointless as well as the rescue section. Being a story driven game a choppy, overdrawn story with less relatable characters hurts the game greatly.… Expand

This game may receive a lot of hate from its fans, and to be honest I was very angry myself seeing a character I love so much and have such a deep attachment to receive such a horrible fate. But being the big TLOU fan I am I needed to see how Ellie’s story unfolded despite how sad I was. After completing the game I can safely say with all my heart that this game is a masterpiece and I would give a score above ten if I could. If you’re a TLOU fan, please give this game a chance. It will not disappoint in the slightest. The immersion and emotions you feel while playing this game is beyond anything I’ve ever experienced from any other game I’ve played. You feel every little thing Ellie feels, you truly become one with her through this wild but beautiful experience Of a game.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 정말 모든 게 엉망인 게임입니다. 우선 스토리에 개연성도 없이 우연성에 기댄 전개가 너무 많습니다. 메세지를 전하고 싶으면 보는 사람이 좀 거부감이 들더라도 납득할 수 있게 이야기를 촘촘하게 만들어야죠. 이건 뭐 이야기를 통해서 자연스럽게 메세지를 전달하는 것이 아니라 메세지를 위해 자기들이 마음에 드는 요소들을 여기저기에서 갖다붙이고 연결은 대충 한 느낌이에요.
    그 여기저기서 갖다 붙인 요소들에는 PC 요소도 있는데 PC 요소가 자연스럽게 이야기에 어울리면 모를까 너무 이야기에서 겉돌아서 거부감만 들고 오히려 PC를 싫어하는 사람이 만들었나? 그런 생각도 듭니다. 동성애자인 엘리는 복수 땜에 정말 많은 사람들을 죽이지만 정작 복수의 대상인 애비는 용서하는 이해 못할 모습을 보여주고 디나는 엘리와 사귀면서 제시의 아이를 임신하고 동양인인 제시 가지고는 전혀 우습지 않은 인종차별적인 유머나 치고 있고 별 비중도 없이 걍 허무하게 죽여버리고 이게 진정 PC를 위하는 건지도 모르겠어요.
    그리고 애비를 플레이하게 만든 게 애비한테 공감하게 만들기 위해서라고 제작자가 인터뷰를 했는데 그 말도 이해를 못하겠어요. 자기는 자기 아빠를 죽였다고 자기 목숨을 살려준 조엘을 잔인하게 죽였으면서 앨리가 그것에 대해 복수하니까 살려줬더니 은혜를 이딴식으로 갚냐는 위선적인 모습을 보여주는 장면에서 바로 애비로 플레이하게 넘어가는데 어떻게 이게 애비한테 공감하라는 겁니까? 악의적으로 애비에게 공감 못하게 순서를 그렇게 만들었다는 게 더 설득력있을 것 같아요. 그리고 임신한 애인이 있는 놈이랑 바람피고 수없이 이중 잣대를 들이대는 캐릭터를 누가 좋아하고 공감을 합니까?

I mean kill Joel fine but at least let us play the whole game as Ellie not stupid Abby. The worst part is Abby is badass and hits hard but she should have been a spin-off or something else SHE KILLED JOEL. AND Ellie our most beloved character loses everything including playing the guitar the one thing that reminds her of Joel. So dumb… Expand

    The last of us part 2 isn’t what we expected even though it’s a beautiful, emotional and phenomenal experience. When you play the game you really got so into the characters, you really feel things while you playing the game. This game deserve so much respect. No matter if you rather like or not the events of the game, it’s a masterpiece.

    This game is fantastic! Ignore all the haters who watched 1 toxic youtuber, never played the game, and then came here to **** on it.

    The graphics are amazing. The story is compelling. A few new mechanics and all the old ones polished. This game is 100% a game of the year contender.

    I think its a 9/10 but I gave it a 10 to help counter the trolls.

I am a high fan of the first game and I was waiting for it for so many years. And finally this 19th arrive! The last of us II was on my hands. So freaking awesome!!!!
    First minutes you finde Joel playing the guitar with those awesome grafics. Look at the their face and the moment when you are riding the horse at open field with this sunsent...
    You control Joel and also Ellie and the feeling of them both feels very different, and awesome (Ellie feels son agile and fast).
    But after 2 hours one new character appears, Abbie. And after control her, the first crash at my mind appear, Abbie and Joel found in the field, he help her in order to scape from a horde of zombies and she killed him!!!! Whatttt the **** Joel is died!!!
    Ellie saw this and she want to revenge him and goes through Seattle to find Abbie. I would not like to reveal all the story but after the “first final”, you play some more time and you arrives to the final battle. This battle was completely out of sense (I enjoyed it but this was my point of view). After that thinking about pros and cons:
    Pros: -Awesome graphics -Nice characters -Story until the end -Controls.

    Cons: -I don’t like the final, for my makes no sense

    Any game that can make me care this much about its characters deserves high praise from me. There were parts of the story that had me actively screaming at the characters on my TV as if they could hear me. The ending especially had me crying like an absolute baby. Loved it, would recommend it to anyone.

Но в этой игре это раз за разом бросают в глаза. Так же с стороны геймплея проект слабоват - есть пару интересных решений - но в целом игра скучная. The Last of Us 2 exceeds all expectations and even outperforms most movies today. There is so many minor details as well ass detail im general fact during my playthrough I'd often forget that I was playing a game. The fact that Naughty Dog put in all this effort into such a detailed, thrilling experience for just the usual price of $60 is overwhelmingly mind blowing.

    Ignore the negative reviews by all the entitled, toxic so called "fans". This game deserves 10s across the board, if not better and YOU NEED TO EXPERIENCE IT!    … Expand

    The writing is abysmal. The gameplay has almost no innovation, changes, or quality of life improvements. No Druckman, a jump button isn't innovation. There's almost no differences from the first game. The    Not spoiling anything.

    The game LOOKS good. In spite of the horrid things they make you look at sometimes.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Functionally, the game plays well. It’s more or less the exact same gameplay, crafting, and combat as the first game with some tweaks. It looks great, for the most part. No glitches or bugs, so that’s always a relief. Unfortunately, the story structure didn’t do it for me. I understand what they attempted to do, I respect the ambition, but the way the story unfolded made me unable to empathize with Abby or anyone she was involved with.

    There must have been another way to accomplish this by telling the story in a different order or by maybe not revealing who murdered Joel exactly or why. Then slowly revealing it as the game went on. I’m not sure, but realizing that I was going to have to play 10-15 hours of this game as Joel’s murderer wasn’t a fun time. I wanted to kill Abby a few hours in and I wanted to kill Abby at the very end. Nothing changed for me. I cheered when Tommy ended Manny. Maybe I’m the psychopath.

    Also, was it just me or was this game less scary and tense compared to the first one? I guess because it’s literally the exact same enemy selection as the original with a variation of a new one and a new boss. Were Stalkers new? Two new enemies if so. Also docked some points for being forced to kill normal uninfected dogs. Petty? Maybe. I don’t remember if I had to kill dogs in the original. I put about 60 hours into it since I did New Game+ and got all the collectibles.

    It’s a really well made game, but as I described above, it was a really unfulfilling story and left me never wanting to see another game in this franchise again. Which is too bad because the original is one of the best games I’ve ever played. I kind of wish this story had never been told and this game never made now.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is nowhere near the shadow of the prequel, the gameplay is fine and the graphics are fantastic.
    But, that someone who has played the original, can realize that the factors that made the first one a success are not present and if they are, they did not polish it well.
    Because history has the key: "revenge", constantly, they are saying that you have to take revenge against (spoiler) Abby for what she has done and does not even give the option to kill her. With the revenge key, it doesn't work in a game that was about surviving and seeing how Joel and Ellie went with their relationship.
    It is not a "haters" thing (if you are stuck in 2017), it is people who have played the game and realized that it had no similarity with the previous one. Also, does it not seem strange that the reviews will tell you a hundred in everything, when in their previous ratings they give great games between 80-90? It sounds to me like something happened to them.
    The only good thing that came out was the Gameplay, the graphics and even some flashbacks that Joel and Ellie had 2 years after the first one that expanded their relationship in a pleasant and not forced way as the rest of the story feels, I do not I import that they put things of the LGBT + with that at least that the history had been interesting, but outside, that not even that they could do well.    … Expand

The Story:
    The Last of Us Part 2 continues the story of Joel and Ellie the two protagonists from the previous game, In the last game the story was focused on the relationship of Joel and Ellie, However in Part 2 the story moves away from their relationship and becomes a story centred around lost and revenge. The game also puts you in the perspective of a new character named Abby, who is one of many characters who was wronged by Joel, in the last game Joel made many Harsh or rash decisions in order to protect Ellie. Now a much older Joel and Ellie must bear the consequences of Joel’s past decisions.

    My only problem with the story is the pacing, I feel like some moments in the story could have been shortened and straight to the point, but this wasn’t really a big issue for me because most games that are longer than 15 hours usually have a pacing problem. Another thing the game does an amazing job at doing is it’s LGBTQ representation, it is very rare for video game characters to be LGBTQ and it is very rare for those characters to be well written. In the Last of Us Part 2 we are introduced to Dina, a bisexual woman who is in a relationship with Ellie. I myself is bisexual and was so happy to see a bisexual character and in a proper non-straight relationship, there is also a trans character who has an amazing backstory and great character development and no it’s not Abby. The Gameplay:
    The Last of us Part 2 takes the gameplay from the previous game and expands it in so many different ways. 1) Stealth, the stealth in this game is honestly it’s best feature because there is so many ways to be stealthy especially with the new prone option, and the stealth takedowns are so cool to watch plus with the new Ai it makes stealth really challenging but fun at the same time. 2) New weapons, the previous weapons from the last game do make a return but there are new and cooler weapons such as: Smgs, Crossbows, and a **** FLAMETHROWER!!! 3) Combat, the combat is way better than the first game, by adding a dodge button it made combat more swift and fun to play. 4) Infected, the Infected are still as vicious as before, but are now more sensible when it comes to sound especially the clickers, the stalkers got a big upgrade with the ability to dodge and counter your attacks, and the bloaters are still as scary as ever. But there are two new Infected; the Shamberlers who are bumpy infected that release a toxic cloud, and the Rat King who is monstrous infected aka big scary ugly boss. 5) The Levels, the game is broken up into different chapters and mostly takes place in Seattle, however the design of each level changes this makes it so that we do not get bored of being in Seattle we are just exploring a different area of Seattle. 6) Exploration, if you enjoyed the Uncharted series then you will enjoy the vast design of each level, The Last of Us Part 2 encourages exploration for each level which can lead to resources, collectibles, and even easter eggs. 7) Crafting, the crafting is basically the same, but you can now craft new stuff, such as silencers, Inferno shotgun shells, pipe bombs, and more. 8) Parkour, another uncharted element, was the addition of the jump button this brought in more diversity to the gameplay and was not overused. 9) Puzzles, the puzzles in the game has changed from pallets and ladders and instead into rope and power, the new puzzles involve using rope or cables to get to a new area, searching for power by trying to find an electrical source to power a generator, and trying to find or solve the code for safes which are full of resources, the puzzles are not overused and are mostly used for side exploration. 10) Skill Trees, the skill trees unlock perks which basically upgrade your abilities, crafting, and gameplay, you can unlock new skill trees by finding survival manuals which are usually rewarded for exploration or opening a safe. 11) Two playable characters, Ellie and Abby are the new playable characters, each has different skill trees, different weapons, different gameplay, different goals, and different perspectives. Ellie is more stealthy and have faster stealth takedowns, while Abby is stronger in combat her stealth takedowns are slower but she can craft a shiv in order to speed it up. Tech:
    The technical development for this game was amazing, The graphics are beautiful and well detailed to the point that you can see the pores on the character’s skin and the emotion on their faces, the lighting is well down and makes every level and scene perfect, the music is beautiful and matches every single scenario with themes of action, sadness, sorrow, pain, and peace. When playing I only had one bug but it was not game breaking or really noticeable. The Last of Us Part 2 was an amazing experience it is so far my Game of the Year. 10/10    … Expand

The reviews should be un-biased, based on the game itself and the criteria that defines it (technical, atmosphere, sound, level design, story etc) and not about the director, Naughty Dog or only about the story. If you don't agree with what they did, you don't buy the game, not give it a very low rating to create a false impression.
    That being said here is my opinion for this game:

    - Graphics 10/10 - Visuals are better than anything I've ever seen on PC or console by far, and I'm 40 years, played all that is worth playing; Textures, landscapes, weather, lighting, facial animations, all details carefully and accurately done, at times it feels like it was filmed, it is very photo-realistic, especially if you play on OLED or other high-end TV. This is clearly a Naughty Dog title, the amount of work that has gone in defining every element is visible and can be appreciated by completionists like me.

    Atmosphere 10/10 - the tension created by the audio-visual experience, the soundtrack and the very well executed horror element create the best atmosphere I ever saw in a survival-horror game. Infected look amazing and AI is very good especially for human enemies, creating all kind of surprising and high tension situations. The combat mechanics also help a lot to build the scenes, very well made movements and collisions.

    Level design 10/10 - As in every other ND title, the level design is beyond words...maps, verticality in some cases, landscape elements, various weather combine to offer a great setting and very unique survival-combat situations. Also enemy AI and difficulty progresses with game advancement which is very rewarding.

    Gameplay 9/10 - Very fluid combat and movement mechanics are very well suited for PS4 controller and make the combat, riding, driving a very fun and easy experience. Aiming is a little tricky but if you adapt to the controller it will work just fine. Only minor drawbacks are the skill tree that makes you go through all the less necessary skills to achieve the useful ones and some pre-defined scenes where you can't win or do something else because it needs to end in some certain way that makes the cut-scene/story progress and the occasional very minor bugs, nothing major.

    Story 8/10 - I understand that everyone hates the story because it makes you play with the opposing side but that is the same concept that TV series LOST did which can be very nice if you accept it. Story telling is specific to ND, very immersive and interesting with a lot of tensed moments and funny ones, character development is on par with previous ND games with very nice dialogue and engaging situations, letters found through the post-apocalyptic world, factions, etc. I honestly liked the story and found it very immersive, always was curious what was going to happen next. There are indeed a few bad decisions made by the main characters which do not represent or define them but it no way can this be considered complete character assassination, every game/movie has flaws in writing. If you enjoy LOST kind of perspective then you will like the story overall.

    Final verdict: 9.5 - Do not listen to all the hate and controversy, don't spoil the content/story, just play the game, don't expect anything specific and if you liked LOST TV series approach and Last of Us 1, you will definitely like this game. I played Last of Us 1 and then immediately Last of us 2 in a 4 weeks marathon and it has been a top 5 experience of my 40 years life as a gamer. Vote the game and its elements, do not bash the game to hurt the studio or Sony, it is a shame that such a masterpiece is ruined in reviews by all the media scandal.    … Expand

    Si il y a temps de haters a cause du scénario c'est que celui-ci est réussi car il fait réagir fortement et c'est son but.
    Ce jeux est parfait en tout point.

    Геймплей сильно затянут(играть попросту не интересно, с первой части ничего не почти не изменилось). Сюжет банально туп и прост ,легко угадывается. В техническом плане игра хороша (видно что над ней старались но пришёл дракман и все испортил). P.S мне плевать на повестку.    Разработчики обосрались с этой игрой.

    Finished the game..
    What an emotionel rollercouster.. Took some time thinking and evaluating the game, characters, story and more.. All in all a masterpiece! 10/10!
    BUT its not perfect. There is still room for implovement for part 3..

    Best game that I've ever played. Beautiful scenarios, the amount of detail is ridiculously good, and the story, even though it is debatable, was the best part of the game. I've never felt such a will to keep playing. What a masterpiece.

    This game could have, should have named something different. There is barely anything that ties this to the last of us world. The few infected seem thrown in. There is no joy found in this game. The story is garbage. The world is more linear, with 1 open area. The graphics and gameplay are good. This game did so well off of anticipation. It's like The Last Jedi of the video game world.
