However, saying it is a political statement and it did not match the trail is stupid. Obviously they aren't going to tell you Joel dies that's makes no sense, but if you couldn't figure that out for yourself then i worry for you. But like i said, it's just an opinion, everyone has one. If we all just calmed down and stop taking everything seriously that would be fantastic. And that goes for everything.

    That being said, I really enjoyed and it is a shame how much hate it got but at the end of the day it doesn't really mater. The game play was fun and that's really the only thing that matters, because if there is no game play then it's a movie. Anyway have a good day friends and remember you only live once, so lets try and enjoy life yeah?    … Expand

This game is unapologetic, unsettling, and truly just as breathtaking as its predecessor, if not more so. If you want to gun down enemies with abandon, you have many options. If you want to play a story that will break your heart and stay with you for a long time, this is the one.… Expand

    The first playtrough the story was kinda boring but everything else was good

    Second playtrough I put on a bunca cheats and skipped the storyline and the game was super fun!

    This game is not as great as the first one (in story) but its a beautiful game, they improve many things: gameplay, enemies, graphics (the best ones) and a way bigger map. This one is harder! And there is a lot of different types of enemies that you have to defeat each one in different ways

    It's a pretty good game , it does have some mistakes on the script , but it is still so good.
    It makes you cry , makes you feel angry , and then you don't know how to feel when you are in the middle of the campaign because now you know things that you didn't at the beginning of it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A la mitad del juego yo estaba desencantado por el juego. Me encantaba la historia, pero el gameplay no me cerraba. Me parecia muy similar al del primer juego y con demasiadas partes de walking simulator que me parecia identico a las partes aburridas de uncharted 4. Pero despues de haber terminado el juego,, me doy cuenta que esas escenas de walking simullator, de tirarle el juguetito al perro para que lo vaya a buscar 5 veces, son recontra necesarias. Hacen que uno termine arrepintiendose de haber matado a esos personajes 3 hs antes porq te das cuenta que ellos no tenian nada que ver. El gameplay evoluciona y supera claramente al del primer juego, aunq las mecanicas no son las mas novedosas, la ejecucion y el tono ultraviolento complementan de maravilla a esta historia de venganza.
    Ahora paso a la parte fuerte del juego, la historia. Simplemente la mejor historia de venganza que vi en mi vida. las decisiones de todos los personajes estan completamente justificadas en todo momento. Estoy seguro que yo haria todo lo que hizo ellie o abbie o cualquier otro personaje en su lugar. Cuando ellie abandona a dina para ir a buscar a abbie a santa barbara no tenia otra opcion. Ellie va a buscar a abbie para poder dormir. No tenia otra opcion. En ese punto ella ya sabia que matar a abbie no le iba a devolver la vida a joel, pero no iba a poder vivir consigo misma si no terminaba este asunto. Aun cuando le perdona la vida en el final, se re entiende. Despues de ver todo el sufrimiento, el mal estado fisico, el amor por Lev, ve que mas muerte no cambia nada, pero necesitaba pelear con ella para darle un fin a su obsecion. Al final, la venganza le quito todo a ellie, le quito a su pareja, a sus amigos y hasta su capacidad de tocar guitarra (que era su ultima coneccion con el difunto joel). Verdaderamente es un 10 este juego, aunq por momentos desespera, todo es necesario y te hace sentir cosas que otros juegos nunca pudieron.

The amazingly beautiful aesthetics of the chapters and cut-scenes are breathtaking, this improves the already evolved gameplay, proving that minor changes in combat, dogding and interactions can change the whole experience.
    What about the narratives aspects of it? Mesmerizing, yet imperfect. Thankfully, the weak story of one of the protagonists and its excess of (not so useful) flashbacks is fastly omitted by a great character study of these two beings and their arcs that resonates in a laudable theme. The choices that the developers went through the game are bold, but creates an emotional roller coaster to the player improving his/her experience.
    Conclusion? It's indeed a must play to all PlayStation user, the unification of an emotional plot and an active and incredible gameplay creates a truly wonderful game made with blood, sweat and tears from the developers and actors. Enjoy it.    … Expand

It's about US, about YOU - it uncovers a great deal about how you handle those situations and emotions it depicts. I think this is why some people hated it so badly, because this game made them FEEL strongly, and they couldn't work through their feelings (yet).
    The reason I feel the opposite, strongly positive way about it, is because of the success of being able to work through it, and gain a deeper understanding not just about the characters, but about myself (and others around me) too. I actually feel, that this game made me a better person, even if just a notch or two, and I'm glad about that!

    Emotional work is rewarding, and those who are willing to put in the time and attention will surely get something out of it. It is dark, brutal, and so very lifelike and brave. I'm holding it an etalon of storytelling in (this genre of) videogames.    … Expand

It let us think a two different character perspective which is really in a different level. I know how frustrated on Joel’s death but this part 2 talks about Ellie and Abby - are two sides of a coin. The way they feel are similar. Well, Abby has its own the Last of Us....

    The parallelism, intertwined with the cinematographic techniques Naughty Dog uses to deepen its commentary on themes such as revenge, guilt, violence, and forgiveness are groundbreaking, and the utilization of these techniques helps the game reach a high bar of nuance and complexity, rendering it worthy of analysis. The game’s great writing and direction are supplemented by the performances of the main cast to really make the game come to life, and the soundtrack greatly amplifies the game’s emotional impact. Ashley Johnson and Laura Bailey’s superb performances as Ellie and Abby, respectively, are also enhanced by Naughty Dog’s technical achievement in fluid facial animation. From a technical perspective, TLOU2 is irrefutably a masterpiece.

    The gameplay feels realistic due to the game’s great animation and realistic enemy AI, and if the game were shorter, I feel that the gameplay would not have grown somewhat stale by the end. As a whole, I felt poor pacing sometimes bogged down an otherwise great narratively driven experience.

    Without spoiling anything, there were a few, rare moments that didn’t land well for me in the narrative, but for the most part these moments were necessary evils in delivering this kind of story. I also wish some of the new cast of characters were more fully fleshed out. These complaints, however, are minor in the context of a game that otherwise blew me away, and risk-taking should be encouraged in any medium.    … Expand

This game is so well curated on multiple fronts like the soundtrack that hits all the right notes in a dark and bleak setting with acoustics that depict revenge... or maybe the combat music that is low beat andNo spoilers, I 100% most of my games to see how good or bad they are and TLOU2 is no different as well, with over 60 hours in I can confidently give an honest review on the game. This game is so well curated on multiple fronts like the soundtrack that hits all the right notes in a dark and bleak setting with acoustics that depict revenge... or maybe the combat music that is low beat and builds up tension with each close shave of death and brutal deaths. The game-play has moments of peace and quiet from the action and the sound of guns, instead we hear and see great performances that portray stories and losses that many of these characters face in a world of hurt, but the moments of action are a huge departure from previous ND games but it doesn't disappoint either, with a new dodge mechanic that makes the violent melee combat that much more thrilling. Weapons, equipment, movement and aiming also feels grounded, you don't feel like a treasure hunter in an epic movie, instead you feel like you're in a very high stakes TV series that doesn't shy away from dark, grotesque and brutal combat. The level design and environments are as always top notch so are the visuals, from ND games... no complaints here.

    But the story as much as I loved it, is the most talked about part of the game ( In a bad light most of the time.) Which is a damn shame because it doesn't disrespect any characters in the previous game, in fact it makes them so much more mature and a lot more developed than before. But opinions aside, the fact is this game has to be approached with a slightly open mind, Troy Baker said it best (Joel actor) " I never played a game that required me to play it selflessly for what it is, and not selfishly for what I want it to be."     The game got great gameplay and looks stunning. It gets hated for the story and i just have to admit that some parts doesnt make sense. Nevertheless i just cant give anything less than ten because even even this "wrong" story was still very emotionial and devinitly better than most games the days. Must play

    Amazing. Beautiful game, score and acting is incredible. Like playing a movie. Not sure what all the controversy is about. I really didn't see anything wrong with the story or characters. Very, very good game. Should win every game of the year award in my opinion.

It doesn't try and make you feel good and that's what a lot of people are complaining about in the story, but it makes you feel angry and confused because playing the "bad guy" makes you realise there's 2 sides to every story and you get mad at yourself because you don't want to sympathize with the people the game made you hate. For me that's definite proof of a masterfully crafted storyline that engages the player. I can guarantee you will think about this game a lot after playing it. It conveys such a strong message that you can't ignore. That is what makes it so great. It provokes thought and emotion, and not always in a good way and that's what separates this game from so many other story-driven games.… Expand

The theme of revenge is more simplistic than the orginal game, but I think that it is still fairly realistic how the characters are portrayed. Joel murdered Abby’s father the only person who can make a cure and people get upset when karma comes back on him - people need to grow up and realize that life doesn’t always go the way you want. The story is realistic and everything about the game is a masterpiece …if someone murdered your dad you would want revenge huh.?? Oh and btw Joel isn’t Ellie’s real dad - but it was Abby’s real dad that got slaughtered .… Expand
