    You need to play the full game to understand the love in this game which is about hate and revenge. Complete the campaign and I am sure that you will change your review Even I was skeptical to play the story from Abby point of view once again. I didn't enjoy seattle day 1, 2 with her a lot. But we eventually love her journey with Lev after war sequence which was intense.

    Every QTE event then between Ellie & Abby had my hurt pumping as I didn't want to lose both of them. That's the impact this game will give you.

    Ashley Johnson & Laura Bailey gave a phenomenal performance as Ellie and Abby.    … Expand

    Talented, brillant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, sh-t on it, vomit on It, eat it, give birth to it.
    It's all those things, but actually it's a f-ing good game.

    A true masterpiece to behold!! The gameplay, graphics, music, sound design, and attention to detail are unparalleled. That’s already a 10/10. But the story, my word, it’s insane. It’s brutal, it’s dark, it’s sad, it’s depressing, it’s beautiful, all at the same time. I have never been so invested in a story, you feel the way the characters feel, there is no disconnect. And theA true masterpiece to behold!! The gameplay, graphics, music, sound design, and attention to detail are unparalleled. That’s already a 10/10. But the story, my word, it’s insane. It’s brutal, it’s dark, it’s sad, it’s depressing, it’s beautiful, all at the same time. I have never been so invested in a story, you feel the way the characters feel, there is no disconnect. And the writing/acting is astounding!! Try it for yourself, it might be really violent and hard to watch, but it is worth the experience. Seattle is one of the most beautiful and detailed locations in a game to date, and the other locations are not far behind.

    For me the story was good. It was compelling and made me want to keep playing. The voice acting is the best in any game that I have ever played. Ellie is the stand out star when it comes to the acting. The addition of some 'romantic' scenes did feel a bit forced, but overall the relationships between certain characters were compelling and I genuinely cared about them a lot.

    My verdict - play it. It's a fantastic game. The gameplay is extremely fun and the story should ahem you on the edge of your seat. You may not like the game, and that's ok, but I think that both the 10/10 and 0/10 reviews are slightly bias. Play the game for yourself and see what you thin, I promise that you won't be completely disappointed.    … Expand

The acting of Ashley Johnson as Ellie and Troy Baker as Joel is wonderful. The hardwork of Naughty dogs has paid of. Joel is died in first 3 hours of game but people are mad they don't know the story but they have to post negative reviews. If you guys purchase the game then you have to complete the game then make your opinion and then came here and post your reviews. If look at Red dead redemption original on PS3 and Xbox 360 in this game the main protagonist has died in last part of game then people have no opinions and they can't post negative reviews and make ratings 3.4 not making comments on rockstar games but in this game Joel died people are going mad.     Love it! Amazing graphics, gameplay and the story, wow. I don't think I've ever seen such a complex story before. The end had me crying like a baby... Time for new game+ now I guess. Also big thank you to Naughty Dog for the representation.

    Hands down, one of the best games I have ever played. Still in early stages of the game will be playing rest of the weekend. Just wanted to pass on my early impressions. Not sure what’s up with the hateful comments and ludicrous low scores. This game is GOTY!

    This completely raises the bar for gaming as a whole. Naughty Dog has thrown down the gauntlet and set a whole new standard of artisanship, story writing, world building, detail, and animation. Gameplay takes TLOU into a whole new universe while expanding on the energy that made the first game so immersive. Now it’s up to every other gaming studio to try and keep up...

The story is SO intense, I cried, I got angry a lot of times, and I felt like I really was the character.     A beautiful game with a deadly and cruel environment, but it is also packed with heartwarming moments. You feel as much motivated to move forward as the main character. Good story, one of the best acting performances in gaming history. And the gameplay is just as perfect as you would expect from a Naughty Dog game.

    This is a surprisingly great game made to take you on an emotional rollercoaster, which it succeeds at as the story jumps back and forth between the past and the present. This is also one of it's major flaws as you really need to have played the previous game recently (or remember it well) for a lot of the story beats to make sense.

    The place where the game shines is in the gameplay and graphics department, with some beautifully realised post apocalyptic cityscapes that have been reclaimed by nature plus many encounters can be passed depending on your playstyle, go in guns blazing or sneak around quietly.
    But I did notice the occasional pop-in, with one time being deadly when wires to a bomb trap did't show until the last second, but upon replaying the section were highly visible.
    So for me it was a fun pretty romp just let down by poor story pacing and a few small graphical bugs.    … Expand

Perhaps for the haters the ending was too complex to understand, things did not go as they wanted and they stick to every little thing to evaluate 0/4/3/1 .... embarrassing evaluations and not to be taken into consideration. If my English is incorrect, it's because I'm not English.
    You have to try the game. You can explore and see things that don't appear on gameplay videos if one doesn't explore. I've played twice already and I never get tired. even in fights there are so many possibilities. and the plot is simple sad raw but true. The ending is something spectacular if you think about it. Haters cry because the stark reality of how life really is. Abby ... people don't understand that on the other side there are people with whom you can empathize even though they did what they did ... because they had a reason.     I will start with the easy stuff and advance through the harder and the more controversial stuff.

    Technical quality is top of the industry both in graphics and audio, it isn't a surprise but this achievement is even more impressive that the game is on the Playstation 4 console that is almost 7 years old at this point. But the more impressive part is the attention to details that makes this game so immersive.

    Gameplay is much improved over it's predecessor and level design is simply amazing with some influence from Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy. it's nothing revolutionary but it's a natural evolution of a everything that was in The Last of Us. New types of enemies added to the game and older enemies are refined and feel more unique than before, with a well done AI that made my experience more challenging with the higher difficulty like I wanted.
    I also like the slight change in gameplay throughout the game, although at the start it felt like a startover, it quickly picked up and was refreshing.

    All the extra options and accessibility in the game is simply amazing, I haven't used them but the amount of stuff you can modify in the game from a custom difficulty and changes to HUD all the way to modifications that change the experience drastically that can be count as cheats for some people that have no need for those modifications. This is an amazing addition and I hope more singleplayer game will take note and implement stuff like that, I love when we get more options to choose how we want to experience a game to suit us.

    I personally liked the story and think that it truthful for the first game, but I do understand why this is so controversial and understand why some people are upset with the story itself and not necessarily the level of writing. Story about the cycle of violence is nothing new, like most other things unfortunately, so the execution is what matters here and in my opinion I think it was well done although a bit flawed. Naughty Dog used the fact this is a game and not a movie or something else to enhance the story by dragging the player to do things he doesn't necessarily want to do. I can't recall when I experienced that in a game before, I might have but usually I feel rewarded by story in games and that what makes this game standout for me.

    side note: I remember that the first game was planed to be a single game and after it was release Naughty Dog said they will make another game only if they got a story that they want to tell. Well that was that story they wanted to tell and I respect that a lot because they took huge risk here and all the controversies show it, I hope people will accept it and move on instead of try to bully the developers to give them what they want. I do think it was a bit blown out of proportion as a result from the leak.

    to conclude, I do recommend this game a lot, it's brilliant in all the technical stuff and the gameplay is very good. you might not like the story itself or certain parts of it, but give it a chance even when it's hard especially if you liked the first game. This is something you got to experience for yourself if you are a fan of the first game or those kind of games.    … Expand

    El punto negativo que comparto con todos es la muerte de Joel (en el sentido que carece de lógica, fue muy rápida y simple). Creo que ND se hubiera esforzado al máximo para vendernos una muerte más creíble( y épica de preferencia).
    ND tiene dos caminos para "arreglar" este enojo de usuarios, o puede arriesgarse en sacar un 3er juego basándose en la vida de Joel desde la muerte de Sarah hasta que conoce a Tess ya que aquí puede haber potencial de una historia u olvidarse y crear una nueva franquicia a la altura de Uncharted y Crash Bondicoot. La primera es muy arriesgada pero puede "mejorar" ese error, la segunda muy fácil pero dejará esa marca en TLOU2, la decepeción de varios.    … Expand

    El juego está muy bien. intente no ir con las respectivas muy altas para no decepcionarme, de momento en lo que va de juego he reido, he llorado, he sentido tensión, miedo, impotencia y montones de sentimientos más que no imaginé sentir con un juego. Es lamentable las malas críticas por ideales primitivos, es un juego que merece la pena jugar.

    Every mechanic. Every voice line. Every twist and turn in the story, is perfect and I haven't nor will I ever hold a game closer to my heart than this game.

    Going through this game and experiencing everything these characters go through, you build an actual real-life relationship with them. And when these characters go through positive or negative emotions, the player directly feels them. In the last scene of this game my heart broke, it gave me intense flashbacks to when my nan passed, and when I lost who I thought at the time was the love of my life. And I cried and cried and cried.

    This game is not for the light-hearted, it's actually emotionally draining playing a game with such intense emotion. I loved it, and I hated it, and that's life. You can't go through it with everything good, happy, and perfect. People die, get sick. People leave and leave you broken and the last of us portrayed these human emotions we all feel perfectly.

    Thank you to all the people who helped make this game possible. Thankyou naughty dog. I aspire to write a book that is as emotionally intense as the story for this game, you have all inspired me to be a better person. Thank you.    … Expand

    I will actually play the game and I can say: do not believe those zero marks that the game received! They are just frustrated xbox players and prejudiced gamers who do not accept our reality today. The game is grade 10, with praise!

People are just upset ‘cause things don’t happen the way they want to and forget the games deal with loss and consequences all the time.     Buen juego, en todos los aspectos. Quizas la historia no es mejor que TLOU 1, pero sigue estando bien contada y con muy buena cinematografía. Lo que pasa es que a la generacion de cristal le picó el potito con los temas que trata la historia, pero es un excelente juego, que muestra la escencia de la humanidad.

    It's really good. I personally enjoy the Last of us more for the world building not so much the characters themselves. This game is a beautiful Display of a apocalypse future that isn't shy of showing the reality of mankind without true leadership. I found the Relationship between each character spot on for the world they inhabit.

    My brain malfunctioned during the entire post credit scene… Prob it’s the unpopular opinion now but I appreciate Naughty Dog took risks. Not just lgbtq theme wise but rather the main discussion point of the game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I know for some people the last 3 months of our quarantine have been rough but this game has been like a rainbow after the Storm. I have missed Ellie and Joel! The Last of Us has been one of my favorite games for a long time since then I've played it at least seven times I am so eager to finish part 2. I don't mind Ellie being gay but I feel that it is straight up in your face the entire game. If Ellie was straight and had a boyfriend constantly bumping into me I would feel the same way. The Last of Us is not a romantic love story but a "father-daughter" relationship based on trust and hardship. I feel that Ellie nor Joel's sexual preference should be a side story in this storyline. Ellie's girlfriend has less personality than a plank of wood and really could have played the game without her. We should have had more time with Joel but I also understand they needed to move the story along. The nostalgia in this game is one I hold close to my heart. I love how some things have not changed such as the way we upgrade guns, search for loot, take medicine for upgrades, and the menu and how you make medkits and bombs. I love the collectibles and how Ellie writes everything in her journal. I think naughty dog did awesome with the graphics and show how time passes but the world stayed the same.
    The handling of the characters could use some work. I hate how Ellie jumps and the noises she makes. I'm glad they kept the same type of "infected" and impressed with the new.
    I like how they opened up the map especially in Seattle up I just wish they had a better navigation system. I don't like the fact that if I miss something I can't go back. Overall I am very pleased with this game.    … Expand

Следует отметить, что восприятие игры сильно зависит от от того, как вы относитесь к первой части игры. И если первая часть вам понравилась, то вторая порвет вам жопу. Если не понравилась, то она все равно подожжëтВ отличии от большинства пользователей я полностью прошел игру, попутно получив почти все модификации/апгрейды/коллекционные предметы, то есть игру я прошел вдоль и поперек. Следует отметить, что восприятие игры сильно зависит от от того, как вы относитесь к первой части игры. И если первая часть вам понравилась, то вторая порвет вам жопу. Если не понравилась, то она все равно подожжëт вам пятую точку. Игру можно разделить на две части, первая из них понравится почти всем, вторая - взбесит вообще всех, кого только можно. Вы будете цепляться к каждому косяку, искренне ненавидеть каждого персонажа и не понимать, почему Нил Дракман решил сделать две игры в одной, когда этого не требовалось. К проблемам второй половины игры добавляется вторичный геймплей и бэк трэкинг (на одной локации мы побываем 5 раз). По моим ощущениям, вот эти 12 часов надо перетерпеть, стиснув зубы. Но это того стоит, Нил Дракман понимал, что вся эта ненависть и общее раздражение с усталостью должны довести игрока до того же состояния, что и одного из главных героев. И вот когда ты смотришь на финальную катсцену ты понимаешь, для чего все это нужно было. Отдельно стоит высказаться о ЛГБТ составляющей. С одной стороны, в целом это очень органично вплетено в повествовании и следить за этим даже приятно (а это говорю я, белый мужщина традиционной ориентации). Вот во второй половине игры начинается перебор. В сюжете появляется трансвестит, и он до конца игры будет действовать на нервы. Как будто взяв специальную методичку, авторы упорно вдабливают нас мысль, что это нормально, и на этом построена добрая, большая часть второй половины игры. Взаимоотношения между персонажами, к сожалению, не вытягивают. Единственная пара, за которой интересно наблюдать и сопереживать - это та же Элли и Джоэль из флешбеков. Я ничего не сказал про геймплей, дизайн, графику, режиссуру и катсцены просто потому что все это выполнено на великолепном уровне, это новая планка в игровой индустрии (кроме геймплея, он просто становится вторичным из-за затянутости самой игры). И ещё кое-что перед итогом - первая часть мне не понравилась только одним моментом - это концовка, я считал, что Джоэл похоронил человечество и он не имел права так делать. После всех прочтенных записок, сцен и увиденной жести, понимаешь, что он все сделал правильно и одновременно с этим еще больше проникаешься к Элли и тому, что она хочет сделать. Если подводить какой-то итог, то в эту игру стоит поиграть каждому. Она понравится не всем, далеко не всем, но обсуждать её вы будете долго. Такого сюжетной приёма никто не ждал, для меня он сработал, хоть и пришлось терпеть, при чём долго. 8,5/10… Expand

    These crybabies are even down voting positive reviews because some people actually enjoyed the game and don't share their view, while circle jerking their own negative ones.

    The game is in every way better that the first one, and yes, I've seen the leaks and the ending. I pre-ordered it after seeing the leaks. I don't care about the political agenda, i don't pay attention to it, I'm concentrating on the post-apocalyptic game. After all the internet outrage, i was expecting flying unicorn LGTBs shooting rainbows. It's nothing like that, it's barely noticeable, just the edgy children blowing it out of proportion.
    Every encounter I've had is memorable, maybe because also the lack of supplies and difficulty. I am actually reluctant to start playing it again because i know I'm gonna sink another 8 hours in it and then the day has passed.
    I don't think there is more to say about the graphics, environments, sound design, acting, and overall polish of the game, this is basically a PS 5 game for the PS 4, I just wanted to clear the story part: IT'S GOOD!

    People have bombed the user rating of the game, either because they did not like something that happened quite early in the game, and chose not to give the rest of the game a chance. or they are angry since its an exclusive that they wont get to play.

    Listen to the real reviwers. I have just finished the game, and it is one of the best games of this generation. no doubt.

    I feel like a lot of people are missing the point of the game. Personally I think everything that happened was important in the lead up to the ending, which was a good end to a cycle of trauma infliction. Not to mention the groundbreaking graphics and gameplay.     Eu entendo o pânico de muitos com o jogo, principalmente pelo o que ocorre logo no início, muitos não irão gostar e é compreensível isso. Porém pra outros, como eu, The Last Of Us Parte 2 faz tudo que uma sequência deve ter, muito além de gráficos que de longe é o melhor da geração, Jogabilidade, Física e etc, mas principalmente em seu enredo. Onde ele encaixa cada peça no seu devido lugarEu entendo o pânico de muitos com o jogo, principalmente pelo o que ocorre logo no início, muitos não irão gostar e é compreensível isso.     I really can't see why the user rating is so low!

    I have been looking forward to this game for years and am not disappointed with the final result. It has vastly improved and expanded on the first game, whilst also maintaining that 'The Last of Us' feel.

    I think this game is superb!

Also ok his death was "quick and brutal" but it's understandable. After his death all you can think is that Abby is a ***** and you want to kill her so bad until you see her face of the coin. Well, ok i understand what she did and why she did. Obviously Ellie goes nuts and wants to kill here and it's understandable too.

    This game just gives you the message that it's so easy to name Good and Bad without knowing all the story and that's what Humans do, they judge as fast as they drink a glass of water.

    The story of this game is good because of that. You can see everything and you can judge after but with all the facts and it's impossible to go through the game and feel the same way as you felt in the beginning.

    Also, the fact that the game shows how the conscience works, i mean, when you are with heat mind you are capable of anything until you start to cool down, you start to think about why you doing that and "i will be the same if i do it". Well, the story messes with you and you start think about stuff.

    The value of things is well shown here, with Ellie not forgiving him and "stay away from my life" until he dies and she feels guilty because he is not there anymore and she never did forgive him for real.

    That's the beauty of the game. The graphics are fine but not something you have never seen before, the music is very good but not amazing and the gameplay is TLoU 1 (mostly) and the game itself is way brutal and darker than the 1st one (understandable). So, for me, what really made me stay for soooo long in front of the TV was the story and, at the same time, thinking of the things i did in my life, the judgements i did at first sight and that probably i should care more about lots of things. When a game does that, well, it must be a hell of a game.    … Expand

And I loved the world, the characters, the music, the everything. It just resonated so well with me. Since then I played through the game around 8 times if we are just counting the full playthroughs. And I loved the world, the characters, the music, the everything. It just resonated so well with me. Since then I played through the game around 8 times if we are just counting the full playthroughs. Then one day I wake up and find out that the PS Experience event I decided not to watch (because it was in the middle of the night in my region) was the event that unveiled TLoU2. I was then 16. My hype was through the roof. Although I had that obvious thought- "How, oh how can you make a sequel to a game with THAT ending?"

    Three years pass and the game has already gotten and lost its release date. I don't worry too much until...

    The leaks scared me. I thought I was in some sort of a nightmare. The game gets delayed one more time and the only thing I want is just not to get spoiled.

    Then I get spoiled. I go off Twitter and get spoiled through YouTube. I go off YouTube.

    I am now 20. The game is pre-installed and the 19th is right there, I can see the day that I thought would never come.

    It's 00:00. I start the game. I am shaking.

    It takes me 2,5 days and 21 hours of gameplay to finish TLoU2. I am crying. So much. The game hits me so hard, so many times. Perfect punches to the heart. I thought maybe I knew, but as Troy Baker said- I didn't know.

    There were a couple of moments when I was unsure of where the game was going, but now I feel ashamed that I didn't just sit back and relax completely. Because that is how you need to experience the game- by letting Naughty Dog show you the way, not try to guess how the game will end and what the game will try to tell. It will pay off.

    I have NEVER cried that much because of any type of entertainment media. This is it. The highest standard. Where everything comes together perfectly.

    My review may get lost in this pile of hateful takes, but I hope someone will see it and realise that this is something that you would want to experience.

    My journey from 13 to 20 and further in life would not be the same without The Last Of Us.    … Expand

    El juego es hermoso, la historia podrá cambiar totalmente a lo que fue el primer juego pero quien no cambia con el tiempo. Seguramente todos los que comentan cosas negativas son personas estancadas y no quieren salir de su zona de confort por miedo a experimentar cosas nuevas. Hay que arriesgarse y Naughty Dog lo hizo. Si no querían gastar su dinero en un juego, para eso está YouTube,El juego es hermoso, la historia podrá cambiar totalmente a lo que fue el primer juego pero quien no cambia con el tiempo.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
