The Last of Us Part II is the best game I have ever played, it has everything: a poignant story, fantastic gameplay, emotional characters. The ones who rated this game with a bad mark, have not played it or a small part. If you’re a real fan, play it.
    Congrats Naughty Dog.

Just to give justice of the rating, I know some ppl don't like the game, but giving BOMB reviews and rating this game zero is ridiculous, but I found more ppl love the game and the rating keeping up, so it's ten from me...and I've bought and finished the game, love every second of it...

I will admit that for almost all of Abby's part, I was keeping her alive purely so I could slit her throat myself. Upon completing the game and actually *thinking* about it, I do sympathise with Abby. I don't forgive her, but the fact is Joel deserved what he got. I liked him, I still do, but just because he was your hero doesnt mean he isn't someone's villain. His luck ran out, and he brought about his own death. In saying that, though, I agree with him, I would do it all exactly the same way. Expand

I really don't understand the hate that is coming, this game is not a 4.6 by any objective metric. I mean if this is a 4.6 then Kill Bill should be a 1. People need to chill out and enjoy the game.

Technically and gameplay wise, this game is perfect! I didnt had any problems with script, i understood it. I understood motivations, i understood everyones actions.
Abby is great addition to the world and i hope we will see her and Lev again.
People who review bomb this game just because they are homophobes or because they would write script differently are jokes...
Everything made sense, even hero can become villian and you can start simpatize with former badguy. But every coin has two sides, remember that, not everything is black and white...

I love Joel as a character and I was heartbroken when I saw that scene ( I wasn't spoiled ) but when you are like 70 or 80% into the game you can finally see the bigger picture and everything just clicks into place.

I respect the people who didn't like the risky path ND used to tell this story but nobody can deny that they had to balls to do it and deliver an experience of a lifetime. That last scene just gets me everytime.. I love Joel and Ellie together.

This game can really make you feel things whent you are playing it.. the pacing of course could be better on a few parts but overall this game is a huge achievement on the technical and the story telling level.

    This game is a masterpiece.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've finished the game recently and finally gave in to the realization it was a waste of time. I kept looking for arguments in it's favor. I've talked a lot about with my partner. Still, the lesson I learned from the game is that I shouldn't have played it. I won't describe the plot itself but only rant about the grand design of it.

The processes it triggered in me are not positive or aiming to improve me as a person. Nor did I have fun playing it which kind is the point of a game. I felt like Sisif pushing this boulder of sadness further and further only to fall back to my knees as my hopes of a deeper and better meaning got crushed by the next character's decision. I wanted to stop during the game multiple times because I understood where it was heading. I only finished it because I figured it was only fair if I wanted to express an opinion about it.

While I started with affection towards the world and the characters I ended up hating everyone equally as it all turns into a brutal descent into madness. Honestly I hope they won't make a part 3 as I can't see myself touching any of these characters again. How can one love characters who's only scope of existence is death and murder? And why would you build characters up just to reduce them to this in the end? They killed Joel, a character whose actions made me question myself in his situation, who had a drive and a final hard choice to face. Why make it useless? What would he have thought about everything to unfold after? These characters seem to have not played the first game and got nothing from what the first game made me thing about.

Even more then the world I hated the game for not allowing any kind of choices. I waited in a blocked scene with the "Strike" prompt on screen for half an hour still hoping. But no, the descent must be total and brutal and useless and senseless. And the trivial fact is that it repeats all over. The game gives you the feeling something is about to change, some character seems to understand the crossing of a line and then it rolls back into the same action pattern from 3 chapters ago. That makes it so heard to buy into it. The suspension of disbelief turns into the stupor of understanding it's all fake as the characters stay the same and don't evaluate, don't build, don't progress and we are forced to witness their mistakes over and over again towards a perfectly clear cliche ending.

I get that games should pull us out from our comfort zone and make us contemplate the actions and the reasons behind actions, but it needs to have meaning. In here it was just gratuitous because of the ending. If the focus were to say loud and clearly "An eye for eye and the whole world goes blind" it failed miserably by not committing fully to it. The whole game the only language the characters can speak is "murder" and at the end we have a sudden change of heart? Really? Also, we expect from games to feed our fantasies, give us a glimpse into being heroes and better, to be a better reflection of reality.

So if you got so far you probably wonder, why a 10? I've really thought this trough. Truth is it's just like Joel said, If I were given a second chance I would do it exactly the same all over again. I've pictured if something like this would happen to someone I loved in real life. In games we are all valiant and honorable, and see the grander picture, but shift that to real life. Yes, I believe there won't be any more uncross-able lines, there won't be limits and the world would go blind. Is this the real nature of trauma? To break us into pieces and reduce us to nothing but grief and predatory instincts? I don't know but it feels real. The game reminded me of Frank Herbert's White Plague novel, which I loved. So I think I love this game too, but it's hard to love what shines a light on our darker selves and breaks our self-perceived illusions. How many games do you know to do manage to achieve this?

What would you have done if you were Ellie or Abby, in real life?

This game has great graphics, gameplay, and a great story. The fight scenes are well done and they appear appropriate for the type of game it is. The cut scenes are really well done. The AI is much tougher than the Last of us original, however, Ellie is able to pull off more acrobatic moves. The entire package comes together in a way that makes this a must-play game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The atmosphere, graphics and audio are simply fantastic. You probably won't get much more out of the PS4 (Pro).

The fact that the ending isn't a happy ending and triggers so many strong emotional reactions from players shows how brilliant the game is. The developers deliberately play with the emotions of the players and get them out of their comfort zone. This also explains the many negative reviews of the players, who can't handle that. And I expect my review to be downvoted by the same people, but that’s okay.

It is certainly not a game for everyone, especially not for those who can only live with a good ending. But for those who can handle this kind of story, this game is unique except for some minor flaws and it is certainly one of the best of its kind.

I give some smaller point deductions for the skill system and the shooter mechanics.

However, a lot of people commenting on this game need to grow up and actually go in to this game with an open mind instead of automatically writing it off after a couple hours (or even without playing it at all) because something happened that they do not like or because they are worried about some imaginary political agenda. The Last of Us Part 2 is a masterpiece that successfully follows up it's previous entry. It is not without it's flaws, but it's strengths far outweigh it's weaknesses.

The story of the first game is an iconic piece of storytelling that should be impossible to follow up. However, while Last of Us Part 2's story isn't quite as strong as the previous game, it is still a compelling tale on it's own.Last of Us Part 2 is intense and often times horrific, which left me with feelings of anxiety and dread. Much has been made about how the game handles violence, but I do feel that the violence works to the game's benefit as the story tackles the consequences of revenge and characters are forced to make difficult moral choices then face the consequences of their violent actions. The game trades black and white storytelling for numerous shades of gray that constantly make you reassess whether what you are doing is truly the right thing. Sometimes special "boss type" enemies will provide obstacles and some of these battles are crazy brutal and require frantic off the wall strategy in order to progress to the next section. This combined with new enemy types such as dogs and stalkers make for a heart pounding experience that constantly has you wondering what the world will throw at you next. Speaking of the world, exploration makes downtime between enemy encounters much more bearable and I often lost track of time as I scanned locations for collectibles, journal entries, supplies, and numerous secrets that give the setting life. I'm not gonna talk to much about the graphics and sound design because quite frankly that all speaks for it's self.

    Pros:
Refined the first one's gameplay mechanics makes an already strong system near perfect
Story is intense, emotional, and constantly had my heart racing
Graphics and Sound Design are among the best in video game history
    Exploration is rewarding
Most of the themes explored had me thinking nonstop and hit me hard
Boss fights are among the most engaging and brutal I have ever played
New enemy types add new wrinkles to gameplay and makes for more unique interactions
Character work here is really second to none

No game is perfect, however. Even masterpieces are victim to nitpicking and flaws. Last of Us Part 2 is an ambitious game and while I ultimately loved the overall product, it doesn't stick every landing. There are occasions I felt they tried to do too much or tried to tackle subjects that they really had no business including in this game. The biggest gripe I had, however, was the way the plot was structured. I feel like this may be the main reason some people think the story is poor as it feels like two different games with two different stories stitched together. This leads to a big lull in the middle of the game that honestly had me questioning whether the quality of the game would take a major dip and truly be awful. Thankfully it didn't and the game's narrative recaptures it's momentum and then some. This is still an issue that needs to be acknowledged, however, and while I enjoyed the 2nd half story it still feels mostly disconnected from the first half and just felt like really great DLC. The game also on a couple occasions gets a little too gratuitous in the way it handles some of the violence and sex and it can be a little distracting at times. New enemy types are great, but they are used a bit too sparingly which is a little disappointing when considering how much they can mix up the gameplay.

    Cons:
    Awkward plot structure
    Occasionally too gratuitous
New enemy types not implemented enough

I loved The Last of Us Part 2. The game's story and gameplay had me in a vice grip and took me on a roller coaster of emotions. Yes it made me upset, but it also thrilled and captivated me more than any other game has since probably God of War. I understand some of the narrative choices may make some players absolutely livid, but I implore you to go into this game with a completely open mind and just try to enjoy the game as it's own independent work of art and not just as a follow up to one of the greatest games ever made. Also don't trip so much about the inclusion of LGBTQ characters. Their inclusion isn't to push political views, but to provide representation in a way that suggests normalcy.

The gun customization is vast. The parts people are yelling and crying about like Ellie being lesbian are in no way braking the game. Yes Joel died the way it was done made me sick. The flash backs to when Ellie was younger are the best parts of the game. before you say you like it or not try the game. Expand

The story beats of this game versus the original all tie in really well for me. The pacing and sheer brutal realism is both impacting & shocking. But also truthful to the subject matter. I absolutely loved it. One of my experiences of this generation.

There are perfectly legitimate criticisms of the plot - none of which, in my opinion, warrants the absolutely poisonous vitriol it's been given. I'm sick of hearing all this whining about woke-ism 3 years in.

The game is amazing every single thing about it, Yhe graphics is something I’ve never ever seen in a video game, naughty dog has pushed the boundaries. The animations the gameplay mechanics really gave me an idea of what the next gen might look like. makes me wonder what the hell is about all this hate, if ya’ll wanted a fairy tale with a happily ever after then go watch a disney princess movie. This game is set in a world where death is literally everywhere. And i see that some people got pissed because joel gets killed? And calling the game trash Lmao, But still it broke my heart to see him go like that at first, this didn’t make me hate the game or the story, instead it got me more hooked into the game filled with vengeance. the part 2 clearly highlights one thing, there are two **** sides to every story and you shouldn’t be too quick to judge, once i got to play as Abby and learned her story, joels death is completely justified, or better yet he got what he deserved. And to be honest, i got much more attached to Abby once i got to play as her, and it shows that just like ellie, she’s a good person in general, and the ending was exactly how it should be, it felt wrong and uncomfortable trying to kill abby at the state she was in, and that’s how it should be, because abby spared ellies life not once, and that makes the two of them even. Emotional Rollercoaster is what i would describe this game. This game is intended for us to feel the negative feelings of hatred, anger, guilt and many more complex feelings. This game make you feel things that not many games could.
However, not everyone will enjoy this game because this game is very dark. It is dark and very realistic in how they depict the world. Yes, this game is unpredictable, hence many people may not enjoy this. The story have many depths, that not a casual gamer can just sit around and understand without thinking too much.
I got to admit, at the first act, I was giving a 6, then as it goes to 10. However, at the 2nd act, it drops back to 6, then it increase to 8 and 10 again. In the 3rd act, it drops back to 6 again due to character motivation that I disagree with. When the final climax happened, for the first time, I do not feel like touching my controller to do as the game tells me too. AND THAT is IMPACTFUL. The way the game make me feel the struggle in controlling the character in the final climax...felt so real. The last scene of the game also gave me the understanding I need on the character motivation that i disagree with earlier on. This is why this game is a masterpiece in gaming in the way it tells the dark story about hatred, guilt, consequences. It felt real.

As much as it is a masterpiece, I am giving this game a 9. Not a 10 because I felt, some parts in the game felt a little to long and drags for quite some time. However, in dragging those parts, It successfully build a world which I really feel I am in, and most of all, it really felt like an adventure.

This is a solid game. I am probably over halfway through it and I have not come across anything I would consider overly negative. One annoyance is with how brittle weapons are. I wish they tweaked how easily a pipe or machete breaks. It is like maybe 4 kills and that is with repairing/upgrading them. Maybe this gets better with more upgrades that I don't have yet.

I tried to look at things from a very critical side, ignring my feelings towards the first game so I could be impartial in the second one.

I was very afraid that the game would suck, I went in thinking it would be filled with SJW propaganda and things like that, but The Last of Us Part II surprised me. I didn't see a single example of SJW propaganda. Many would argue that Ellie being a lesbian and Lev being a transgender would be considered SJW propaganda, but those two facts mean nothing to the narrative. They're normal characters.
About Lev, they do bring up that he is/was a girl, but it is in a single moment in the history, and it didn't bother me at all.

Just wanting to clarify here that I finished the game on HARD difficulty and with 21h of playtime.

    SOUNDTRACK

Absolutely **** gorgeous. It is **** amazing, way better than the one in the first game (which is also incredible). I was afraid that it would be just a copy of the first one's soundtrack, but that isn't the case.

    10/10

    GAMEPLAY

I found the gameplay to be very fun. Lots of ways to deal with enemies, many improvements from the gameplay found in the first game. The animations are elder god tier, elli has unique animations for each type of item she grabs on the map. Her facial expressions are ULTRA REALISTIC. it really impressed me the attention to detail in almost every part of the game.

    10/10

    GRAPHICS

    ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.

Sometimes I couldn't even see the difference between cutscene and actual gameplay, the most gorgeous game out there and that is a FACT.

Lightning, models, map assets, EVERYTHING is incredibly detailed.

    11/10

    NARRATIVE

Okay, now we come to the hard part of the review for me.

I HONESTLY don't know why the **** the game is getting SO MUCH HATE. I honestly think 90% of the reviews on metacritic are from people that haven't played/finished the game.

For those who don't know, Joel dies in the first 2 hours of gameplay. I honestly got hit really hard with it, i didn't want to believe he was actually dead and thought "oh **** they ruined the game", but they didn't. Abby (The strong woman) kills Joel because Joel killed her father in the end of the first game, when he enters the surgery room, he kills the first doctor which is Abby's father, and she gets pissed and gets on a revenge trip to kill Joel.

After Abby kills Joel, Ellie goes on a revenge trip to kill Abby and her friends, which completely changes her character. Ellie in the start of the game (before Joel's death) was still a "child", she would never do the things she does as engame Ellie.

It is a simple plot, but it changed me in some ways I can't even describe. I was overwhelmed by feelings after Joel dies, but i was REALLY overwhelmed by them when the game ended. Trust me on this one people, play the game first before giving a opinion about it. It is a videogame, it is meant to be PLAYED.

I was wrong when i thought it couldn't surpass the first game, which was my favourite game of all time.

11/10. (Still think Joel should have gotten more screentime, though.)

THE GAME ISN'T PERFECT, BUT IT IS A DAMN MASTERPIECE. 10/10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The sequel everyone has been waiting for, end up being the sequel no one wanted.

That's how I feel, I did not expect this story to be told. Why? mostly because a whole game based on the "cycle of violence/revenge/forgiveness" (and not going at it the right way) and not focusing on the zombies, cure, or a better world building, well kinda a miss for me. But still very good and a rare experience.

What's my problems with this sequel? The characters mostly. Abby (/Owen). I don't hate her. I get what was the point of her story, why we played her. I do, but, it just doesn't work for me.

Could be because, we play her after 15 HOURS, you know when we are very invested in Ellie (can't be compared with how we get play Ellie in the first game). Maybe because we play her after a big cliffhanger, and get back to it after hours. Maybe because we see her kill and torture XXX. Or maybe because her and Owen story felt bland, boring, long? I get it, we need to sympathize with them. But not like this (I did like Abby with Lev and Yara, it was interesting).

And we spend quite a few hours playing Abby, when other characters get almost nothing. Dina, Tommy, Jesse and Maria.

Ellie loses everything, even herself (PTSD, not explored or talked about) for revenge. In this game the characters don't talk a lot about their feelings or what happened, it's missing, we have visuals but... Even worse, if you miss an entry in the journal, you might not understand correctly Ellie.

That being said, it's still an amazing experience. The gameplay is really good when given the opportunity. The graphics are a big step up, for me, it's the character animations that I liked the most. Again story not perfect for a few things, but for the rest it was good. The flashbacks could have been handled better, sometimes it was frustrating, more so with Abby. And lots of options to play how you want in the settings.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I usually don’t share my opinions online, but I think I need to write some stuff.

I‘ve never felt so unsatisfied yet entertained at the same time.

    MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD :(

I just don’t know how to describe my feelings after finishing this game. It’s definitely something else. THE LAST OF US PART II has major pacing issues though. Even if you (for whatever reason) can sympathize with the second playable character Abby, there’s still this major cliffhanger lasting for several freaking hours, maybe just to make you feel not so bad about beating up Ellie to a pulp in the concluding theatre scene.

This is borderline pretentious BS and after finally playing the really great Uncharted4 like farm-„epilogue“, thinking you’re finally about to get the closure you’re craving for, they take you for even another round with absolutely no conclusion.

And despite all this „extra“ content being very well presented and atmospheric (even the Abby levels are just mind bending) I just had a really not so fun time playing anymore. This ending made me so sad and I really don’t know if I ever want to play the Abby parts ever again in my entire life, after knowing how all of this plays out.

I played the Ellie part of the game almost entirely walking (just slightly tilting the stick) and exploring every corner until this major screw up point in the story and the overall game deserves so much better, but just by forcing you to play as Abby for this fatiguing long amount of time, I felt the urge to speed run her part. Skipping and rushing several Clicker and Scars encounters. I’m simply not able to like this later story arch with absolutely no satisfying conclusion.

There are major emotional, partially optional, scenes to discover, which jerked the tears out of me in no time and I’m very thankful for that ND. Witnessing the growing affection between Ellie and Dina was one of the most motivating things for me and I really adored the museum flashback with Ellie and Joel.

The overall attention to detail in this game is awesome. The gore effects really treated the 80s Robocop-violence fan boy in me. Better blood pools than Stranglehold (finally) and partially dismemberment of the enemies like in the good old Soldier of Fortune days. The gore is even quite shocking from time to time, which really fits the overall gritty tone of the game.

Another great thing I’d like to point out are the multiple accessibility options in this game. I played the game in german and our voice actors over here did an overwhelmingly great job. And you’re able to modifiy nearly any aspect in the difficulty settings seperately, which led to an overall less frustrating experience than in the first game.

Despite this another major thing that’s bothering me is the fact, that gun modifications just don’t f'ing matter. The workbenches are presented in a very cool fashion, but don’t think you’re able to stash a second full spare mag after crafting the extended magazine. Why? Really! Why?
Only one spare mag seems a bit little to begin with, but I get that this would inevitably lead to balancing issues. But in the end I only upgraded my weapons for the visuals. Pointless. Period.

I guess the element of choice is really lacking in the THE LAST OF US PART II. They really could’ve let you lose to Ellie in the theatre or just let her shoot Abby in the head in Santa Barbara or just f'ing stay at the ranch and get over it. I really don’t know how ND is going forward from here on with this franchise, but I wish them all of the best, despite all the negativity surrounding their product at the moment.

This game is still a solid 9 for me (I usually don’t judge in numbers). I really liked the combat mechanics, the brutal firefights and melee animations. Scouting the first few levels very carefully, picking up notes and solving a few puzzles. I had great fun with it. I cannot overlook the crazy amount of effort, put into the overall artistic craftwork of this piece of art and ND probably should be proud of their universe, since gamers seem to be pretty involved.

Stand by your vision, but also do NOT forget about your fans!

Oh and you really could’ve added one or two Nirvana songs for Ellie to play on the guitar ;)

I'm about fifteen hours in - a few things need to be said:

    - Ignore the votebombing campaign. A huge amount of the hate it's getting is simply for having gay characters in the lead. The people hating on the game are conservatives with small minds who clearly haven't played it.

    - For those people who are SINCERELY disappointed in the darker, brutal turn the story takes all I can say is...did you play the same The Last Of Us 1 that I did? Joel's daughter is killed in the first hour of the game and he goes on to murder hundreds upon hundreds of human beings. Then he makes a deeply morally questionable decision at the end of the game.
This is not a game series for people who like happy endings. And if you're surprised by the turns this game's story takes that's a GOOD thing, no? Did you not want to be surprised?
One comment I read here on Metacritic in the User Score section summed up the stupidity of most of the criticism this game's getting: it said:

"THE DEVELOPERS IGNORED THE COMMUNITY AND JUST WROTE THEIR OWN STORY!!!"

I mean...what do you say to someone who thinks that way? Someone who is so entitled and spoiled and small minded that they believe they have some divine right to dictate the direction of someone else's story in someone else's game?

Okay, that out of the way, I can get onto the game itself. I'm going to admit that I was not a huge fan of the first game. I thought it began and ended brilliantly, in fact I think it has easily the greatest ending of any game ever made - the ending is up there with the ending to some of the greatest films ever made too.
But the bulk of the game itself wasn't enjoyable for me. It was too slow, the stealth was too laboured and predictable and the gunplay was dull. I'm a huge fan of ND games, Uncharted 2-4 remain some of my all-time favourites, but TLOU was a rare ND game that just didn't click with me.
For some reason I'm finding its sequel much, much more enjoyable. First of all, the simple act of moving around the world is greatly improved. You are quicker, more nimble, the mantling animations are fluid, you can climb quickly and easily...
A great example of how much care has been taken over making movement responsive and satisfying is the way your horse controls. Think of how many games have horses in them...now think of how utterly atrociously difficult it is to control those horses: eg. Red Dead 2, with its painfully slow, tank-like horses, or Shadow of the Colossus with the infuriatingly capricious Agro, Roach in The Witcher 3, etc., etc... Yet your horse in TLOU 2 is an extension of you. It turns on a dime, it accelerates beautifully, it moves from a trot to a gallop to a stop with such fluidity I was a bit startled when I first controlled it. This is the Naughty Dog difference: the sheer care that's gone into making small things as good as they can possibly be.

When I reviewed Uncharted 4 I called it 'Luxury Gaming', simply because of the lavishness of the enterprise, the absurd amount of care and attention that had gone into every single component of the game. And while TLOU 2 doesn't have the same obvious graphical splendor and jaw-dropping scenery as Uncharted 4, it has had just as much, maybe more, attention paid to it.
It's visually magnificent, although the narrative forces it into less obviously attractive locations than other big hitters in this department like Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead 2 and the aforementioned Uncharted 4. It controls beautifully. ...And the combat...the human versus human combat...bloody hell. I've just started facing other humans, and it feels substantially different from other action games in this regard. It feels much more tense. A single shot can kill you, a single shot can kill them...the enemies shout to each other throughout, threaten you, you can try and outflank them, and you have your heat-vision-y sense powers, but apart from that it's desperation and adrenaline.

I'm hoping the game keeps up this level of quality, in its gunplay and in its stealth, and so far this feels like its cribbed a lot of valuable lessons from Uncharted 4(which Neil Druckmann, director of TLOU 1 and 2, also directed) simply in how to make the game more...well, fun. More purely enjoyable. How to make stealth and combat more satisfying. So far it feels like they've succeeded, and I get the same sugar rush from the action elements in this game that I got from Uncharted 4, only there's a good deal more depth to this.

I am interested in seeing where the plot goes. But it's the gameplay that so far is impressing me most.

Based on my impressions of the game up until now this is a substantial improvement on the first game - more satisfying in every single area. I was not expecting much because I'd had such a hard time with the first game, but it has been riveting so far. Tense, dramatic, with a forward momentum propelling the player forward. It's daring, with the unique 'luxury gaming' touch that you only get with ND.

Like every great game, or story in general, every aspect of it is in service to its overarching themes and character development. And TLOU2 melds its various parts together to create a seamless immersion into those themes of vengeance, grief, and regret. There is simply no equal to this game when it comes to the shear emotional heft of the story. It’s exhausting and exhilarating, sweet and brutal. Expand

Wonderful story. Normally I skip through stories in games but found the events really compelling. Gameplay is just okay. Not sure there's much replay value, unfortunately. I'd give this game an 8/10 but giving it a 10/10 to cancel out the morons review bombing it.

Ok, i finally finished my second playthrough of the game and i have to say its still a really good game. I don't really liked that aspect, because the set pieces suffer from it in my opinion, the story is also a bit tooo long in some parts wich brings a bad pacing with it and the last big problem i had with the game was that, even if i liked the characters a lot there was missing a bit of interactions between them. Overall i really liked the last of us part 2 Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I almost finished the game .. everything is evolutionary starting from the graphics, mechanics, every detail has been polished to make the game the best in its generation .. the game has no relation with the LGBTQ community or anything

One of the best games ever made, The story is absolutely phenomenal, it shows the two sides of the coin and i think that is brilliant. Hard to top this one.

Absolute masterpiece. This game demands so much from the player but will give so much more in return for those willing to put in what it takes. Avoid spoilers and have an open mind and be ready to think critically and feel uncomfortable. Games are interactive and Naughty Dog uses this interactivity to do things you may not like, but see it through to the end before casting judgement. ThereAbsolute masterpiece. A master piece. So risky in everything that the game tries, but worth at the end of the trail.

Finished it yesterday and I got to say, this is a goddamn masterpiece that only comes along every once in a while. Last few times were Death stranding RE2 Remake and Red dead 2. And seeing all these salty streamers that have to react to cynical viewers and seem to struggle hiding and processing their real emotions and human feelings only makes me feel sorry for them. And seeing all these salty streamers that have to react to cynical viewers and seem to struggle hiding and processing their real emotions and human feelings only makes me feel sorry for them. This game in terms of gameplay, graphics, level design, music and sounddesign etc, raises the bar for the industry. The story is so dark, hard and such an emotional rollercoaster, that it will leave you beaten and bruised by the end and gives you a lot to reflect about. Unlike what you might hear online, the story is VERY last of us. It just takes - maybe unexpected - themes and dynamics from the first game, and takes them to their logical conclusion. And seeing and playing this, will leave you feeling very uncomfortable, but that is a good thing. And people who make fun of these things, like streamers and youtubers, seem to do so, because they have some sort of persona to keep high and it’s easy to just join the meme outrage train. And the stuff in the story they seem to complain about, just makes them look like a bunch of pansies.
I’ll be honest, there are some moments that require you to suspend your disbelief, but it will cause an eye roll at best (if you can let that stuff go). But all and all, story wise, it might be up there with games like Read Dead (1&2), Nier: Automata and Spec-ops: the Line, probably exceeding that last one.
In any case, if you own a PS4, you owe it to yourself to at least give this a try. Streamers make money off of making cynical rage videos and take any opportunity to do so. Don’t let that ruin the fun for you. And again, I feel sorry for the people who didn’t enjoy this as much as I did, because I haven’t felt these emotions playing a videogame in a long, long time.

This game is , in my opinion, a masterpiece. It is also divisive, but it is meant to be. Whether you love it or hate it will likely rest on whether or not you enjoy complex narratives that make you feel negative emotions. This game is a tragedy through and through and if you can't handle that you're going to have a bad time. But it is a brilliantly constructed story and truly unique. The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
