    Yesterday I finished the story of the game and I loved it, I really do not understand the bad reviews of others. Nor do I say it is the perfect game but it is not as bad as others accuse it

    It is true, the story is not what i expected or wanted, it assumes a lot of risks but fails to deliver in the end. But the gameplay, music and atmosphere are very well done and puts you in the mood. AI on higher dificulties is very engaging and actually you feel like you are haunted by the enemies. Graphics are very well done, especially in open areas and in the tunnels. Though the gameIt is true, the story is not what i expected or wanted, it assumes a lot of risks but fails to deliver in the end. But the gameplay, music and atmosphere are very well done and puts you in the mood. AI on higher dificulties is very engaging and actually you feel like you are haunted by the enemies.     I play first part on ps3 and ps4, and wait for this 7 year, and thing is that part 2 is masterpiece in all segment, and definetly game of the century, Great work Naugty Dog!!

    Gamers these days are just toxic and mad, so annoying. Sure the story could be better but its still a masterpiece. Nobody would expect this one person to die right in the begining and the story line is also good and really nice, The character devolepment is insane, so i dont know whats the porblem. Also you cant rate a game with "0-3" if the whole gamplay and graphics is insane and onlyGamers these days are just toxic and mad, so annoying.     The game is intense, and has really toching moments that make you want to stretch and hang on to them. Only Ellie gets a plot armor, and that makes the danger of the loved characters die very real. Overall, even after finishing it, the game will be struck in your head for a very long time.

The environments have so much depth, SO good, PLEASE GIVE US MULTIPLAYER! I’d love to also see DLC’s like left behind & more content branching off this spectacular combat system. I need more. It's a 25-30 hour game, so most of these reviews are from ppl who are only partially through the game. I know what happened. Everyone seen that "you know who" died. Turned the game off, and ran to give they're bad review. I get it. I was upset to. But the more I played. The more I realized what they did was pure genius. I was so upset about Joel dying that I didn't want to give Abby a chance. And before I realized it, she was growing on me. And tbe reason for that was because her and joel are alot alike. What she did was fucmed up. But so was a lot of what Joel did. We never got to see Joel do a bunch of terrible things, we just heard about them. This game was more about abbys character transformation, the same transformation we seen joel make in the original. This game is an absolute masterpiece, and I hope it will get the credit it deserves in time. I know everyone wanted another Joel and Abby Story, I did too. But what we got was so much better… Expand

    Everyone involved in this game should be proud of themselves.
    This game is so damn good.
    Guitar mechanics, graphics (especially hair), story telling all fantastic.
    It's definitely not for everybody, but it's an experience that was worth the seven year wait.
    I'll need another 7 years before I can play again to recover from the emotional trauma.
    So proud of everyone involved!!
    10/10.

    The music is astoundingly good as well. The 3D audio is unreal, making especially the stealthy scenes extremely tense. Imagine sneaking through a dark, moist grotto loaded with infected, with no ammo and nothing but a weak flashlight beam and your knife. Extremely well done.

    If anything, this is a masterpiece and more than a worthy successor to Part I. This is Naughty Dogs most ambitious game thusfar.    … Expand

    This game is getting alot of undeserved critic. Alot of comments from angry Trolls, alot of the reviews are written so early that there is no chanse they have completed the game. I have played for 10 hours, the gameplay is fantastic, graphic are amazing. This is easy one of my top 3 games on PS4.

    Dont get fooled by many of these fake reviews, try the game atleast!

    Best game I have played in a while. Don't believe the negative hype. This is a beautifully tragic story that stays faithful to the feel of the first game. Just because you get sad doesn't make it a bad game - that is the intention. There is no political agenda in this game.

I get that it's uncomfortable to play as Abby, that people were upset about the death of Joel and they wanted revenge. I think this game is simply beautiful. To sum it up, I am glad that the road to a dehumanized Ellie stopped. I really like the evolution of characters and how they try to mess up with out moral code. Considering it's an apocalyptic scenario, feeling some empathy it's rare, which makes Ellie and Abby two great characters.… Expand

The settings, fears, anxieties, moods, etc. are blended together perfectly to create an extremely authentic and relevant experience. If you are a fan of cerebral apocalyptic horror, then I highly highly recommend this game. The characters are thoroughly entertaining and the graphics areI’m about halfway through so far, so I haven’t finished it yet. But this game is utterly brilliant. The settings, fears, anxieties, moods, etc. are blended together perfectly to create an extremely authentic and relevant experience. If you are a fan of cerebral apocalyptic horror, then I highly highly recommend this game. The characters are thoroughly entertaining and the graphics are sublime. I really don’t get the negativity. After a few minutes, I knew this experience will be special and after beating it, I can confidently say that this game deserves the 10/10 rating.     For me it was impossible for a game to be better then TLOU part 1, but part 2 actually did it. What a masterpiece. People will hate it for a long time, but they’ll get over it and see how good it actually is, just like when they hated the ending of the first game.

    We, as the player can use the opposites view to feel the same story, one hero can be the most hated enemy for another, this is another breaking point of Naughty Dog.
    Gameplay is enjoyable, graphic is as good as lifelike.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the best looking games I have ever seen. Breathtaking gameplay even the same as in the 1st part. There was nothing to change, so... Story - I can't remember last time the game made me crying so lot. The "event" with Joel is very strong and truly right, cause we need new characters and the're good enough to love them. Playing 2 chars in 1 time is good way to tell us their story, motivations etc. You get into both characters. Some events are predictable but it doesn't make the story bad. The only thing is the ending, I got mixed feelings about it but I can't lower my score cause I really love this amazing game.… Expand

    Having just finished it (yes, I actually played it and didn't base my opinion on what I saw on YouTube) all I can say is congratulations to Naughty Dog for gifting us the defining masterpiece of the current generation.     Really just Joel and Ellie running around the country again getting into mayhem again with better graphics is all everyone wanted?

    I loved the first game. I got the platinum. With this game i was ready for something different. Not only was the narrative different it was clever and it resonated.

    Does anybody realize that ND wanted everyone to hate abby? They gave no reason to like her at first. She killed joel after joel and tommy saved her. We knew she had a reason but damn she killed joel!!

    This is now a revenge game in our minds for 15 hours. We gotta get that ****

    Then the confrontation comes and we bam switch to abby.

    I dont see why people say that naughty dog forced the sympathy with abby. Shes still an incredibly flawed women. She is "a piece of **** as mel says. She also was ready to happily slit dina's throat after she found out she was pregnant.

    What we do find out is her motivation for killing joel. She spent 4 years making herself a weapon of revenge.

    While she watches her friends die over 3 days she tries to get some of what she was before her father died back by helping lev.

    In the end letting go of hate is the theme here for both women.

    I truly loved the experience of last of us 2 the gameplay was great the visuals where top notch and the game surprised me which is all that i could hope for.    … Expand

Instead, ND gave you the story which THEY wanted to tell and they were sure that some people would be angry, some people would love it but, what's most important, it will give you EMOTIONS and everyone would be talking about it. So, love it or hate it, they've succeeded and probably they love what's happening right now.

    I've finished this game (trophy said that only 15% of gamers finished it currently) and it's just unbelievable. I've never been so emotionally gutted like this by any game. I've cried a little at the end (I didn't cried at the first one, which I love). From gameplay mechanics it's definitely not perfect (but best "arenas" or "levels" are near the second half/ending of the game) but still it's a 10 from me because no other game accomplished this level of writing, directing and acting. No other game is leaving you with that level of emptiness. I don't think that any other game showed you that you won't accomplish anything from hate except senseless violence with no rewards on any level.

    It is a great story with beautiful graphics and good gameplay/mechanics. It's not perfect but no game is perfect. Leave your expectations, take a deep breath and give this story a chance. Just trust those authors. You won't be disappointed.    … Expand

    That was awesome. I am grateful to the developers and I have a message to all those who believe in bad reviews and write them. Just don't. Have the courage to face harsh stories. Sometimes in life you have a sad moments, rough moments. You need to face it and go on. This game is not about sweet **** It is... about real **** And its damn good.

    Honestly I was mad at what happens, but just as mad as certain characters. But then I tried to understand why these characters were doing what they were doing. It was not about me but actually about them and understanding these decisions. What happens at the ending was also bad for me. But then I wanted to see what it really meant. And I honestly loved it.

    This game was a different experience altogether. The gameplay is amazing, the environment is beautiful and the story hits you right in the feels. The game is long by NaughtyDog standard but every passing minutes the gameplay gets intense and dark. The story slows down at towards the mid sections of the game but pace picks up back again soon.

    Graphics 10/10, The game experience has improved a lot.
    Ive enjoyed the history so much, in my opinion everything is correct, the LGBT "inclusion" or the Ellie and Diba's romance doesn't disturbe our adventure through this game.
    I can understand people who hated the game cause the early death of our beloved Joel, and also can understand the bad opinions to Abby. I hated too Abby when she killed Joel but, I saw her like a nasty assassin, but when I played hours with her on the flashbacks, I started to enjoy Abby. She really have a very good history, I like her relation with Owen and the journey with Lev (I loved this boy). It's difficult to love Abby, but I lied if I say she is a bad character or she destroy the history, because that's false.
    The final with Ellie and Abby in that dark beach is awesome, very hard, plenty of emotions. I that point of the history, the revenge has already not sense, so i liked they stop to fight (but to be honest I prefered to kill Abby, Ellie is my Ellie).
    The final with Ellie in the farm is strange, she lost everything she had and wanted cause de revenge. The last image, Ellie leaving the Joel's guitar make us a little confused, but I think is something that we can suppose or try to imagine...
    The best way to discover this adventure is playing, not believing the false reviews of people who are scared of play with an homosexual girl as main character or play with a strong woman.

Honestly, If someone had told me I would be forced to play as Joel’s murderer for half the game I would’ve think it twice before playing. But I actually understood (trust me, I haven’t fully forgave her) Abby’s point of view and although it was a harsh experience, it was totally worth it.

    There were a few things I didn’t like, because... no game is without sin. But overall this game was awesome. Stop hating just because of Joel’s death. This game is so much more than that. The story is really powerful, gameplay is an awesome combination of all the things Naughty Dog has learned from the Uncharted series without losing the essence of The Last of Us. Thanks to the constant evolution of the storytelling it never gets boring. It really is a masterpiece and it deserves so much credit from the user's scores.    … Expand

As a fan of the franchise, I'm destroyed by the gruesome, hard, heartbreaking, true to itself storytelling. Every single chapter of the game was a necessary and pleaseable (in some weird way sometimes, got be honest). The mechanics, the script, the delivery of every single line was on point, and when I say on point I mean pure perfect understanding the possibilities and the story beeing told . Saying that, makes me completely saddened to see the mostly irrational backlash that the game and the creators are receiving, I believe a lot of that comes from a place of prejudice (like homophobia), and because of that I am truly grateful for the creators for beeing bold enough to do a realistic and inclusive and necessary game. As a female gamer, makes me enormously satisfied to see true representations of female characters and bodies, to see true wlw relationships beeing portrayed. So, for all of that and a lot that is not being told here, thank you. I wish I could express everything that I felt while playing it: the pain, the laugh, the tears, the fear, the love and another countless feelings that made me realised that this franchised has become one of my favorites of all time and this game occupying a special place in my heart.

    People just don't get this game. This game is by far one of the most unique and very memorable game. The messages from this game are life changing for me. I don't see any political stuff until people mentioned it, so I'm more concerned to the people who noticed it.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
