    I reviewed Last of Us as a perfect 10.

    I am reviewing this one as a 2. I suppose in technical presentation, this game is more than playable. The problem is the immense letdown of its partner story, whereas the rip everything away that we loved in the first, stomp on it, give you control of a characters whose job is to piss on the first game, then try to make you feel bad all along    I reviewed Last of Us as a perfect 10.

    Games are not meant for politics this games soul purpose was to push an agenda at the cost of logic to the characters I do not believe the way this game was created is fair to people who invested their love and time into it.

    El juego está desarrollado de tal manera para hacer ver al espectador que el desarrollador "odia" en cierta manera a los protagonistas. El juego va bien hasta cierto punto, pero después se vuelve tedioso y solo quieres terminarlo rápido y creo no ser el único que piensa lo mismo, además la historia está contada de una forma pésima, introduciendo flashbacks de repente y a veces un flashbackEl juego está desarrollado de tal manera para hacer ver al espectador que el desarrollador "odia" en cierta manera a los protagonistas.     It seems as though the creators of this game tried so hard to make it different and unique, when in reality, they went against everything their audience wanted for the sequel. The character development was terrible, plot was tacky, loopholes everywhere. If they spent as much time building the story as they did make the game beautiful, we would have ended up with a much better game.

At the same time they tried to force me into accepting unknown people over them, just because they were capable of heroic deeds as well, or because they also could relate to me in some other way.

    Makes me feel like the first game is pointless and also, I hate being stabbed in the back... Although a well thought stab would be appreciated, this game makes it feel forced just for the sake of teaching a lesson, as of which I feel like the OG characters ended up suffering more. (Or maybe I don't know the new characters enough for me to care as much).

    I choose to give this game a 4 because despite the terrible story telling and the small improvements on the gameplay, I feel like the team behind the visuals, the sound and the voice acting, did a tremendous job!

    But just like Druckmann said, he knew a lot of people would passionately hate this game, and that is why I choose to erase this one from my memory.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What a truly disapointing experience and a gargantuan pile of garbage. This game claims to be against violence, yet nothing until the very final moment of the game even remotely supports this. Surprisingly enough, I did not mind the brutal carnage at all. The only positive thing about this game is that, unlike the first Last of Us, this game provides a believable context for the dark imagery, callous violence, and pessimistic viewpoint of the main character and supporting cast. The violence is justified in the eyes of the main character and you really feel the rage and empathize with the protagonist. I have never before in my life been invested in a revenge tale. This was the very first time I truly felt a burning desire for everyone who wrongs the protagonist to die in the most barbarous fashion possible. This desire is potentiated and made possible by everyone who wrongs the main character to themselves be nothing to admire or empathize with. The supporting cast of "antagonists" are just as flawed, thirsting for violence, and lacking in higher moral ambition the way the main character, Ellie, is. This makes slaughtering them not only feel good, but it is also very organic and contextualized properly within the game. This game was an absolute masterpiece in every way shape and form until the final moments of the game, which was so ludicrously awful, and such a let down that I wanted to call Naughty Dog myself and complain. In one split second in the end, the masterful gameplay, the dazzling visuals, the perfect survival horror and tense combat elements, wonderful dark cinematography, bone-crushing sound, and near-perfect production values, were all negated by the biggest buzz-killer and disappointment of an ending I have ever experienced in a game or in any type of medium in my entire life. Ellie sparing Abby is not only disappointing, but totally out of context. She sacrificed everything, killing hundreds of people, leaving behind the only person who loves her(Dina), leaving their home and new child, and having nothing left to live for except her final push for revenge. Then, she chooses to spare her?! Nothing in the games message, its own personal lust for revenge, or any context provided by it or Ellie could possibly support this act. By the time the sparing of Abby happens she already is past the point of no return and must see it through for all that she has lost in the game to be worth it. Ellie is not some saint to be redeemed at the time of that final moment. She's already killed hundreds of people, denied herself a future through the compassion of the woman she loves and who can provide her some semblance of grounding in reality and happiness, torn across state lines in a self-destructive path for revenge, and made it very clear to herself that she will as she puts it "Kill every last one of them." As I said before I never thought I would be this invested in Ellie and Joel's revenge but I was. I'm always against violence and brutality and believe in the power of forgiveness and moving on. However, due to no ones fault but Naughty Dog, the revenge and violence was so believable and in context and I never thought I would hear myself say that I savagely enjoyed every slaying of the "antagonist cast" in all of its brutal and revenge-infused violence. This is in part due to the fact that the antagonist cast is not very strong on moral high-ground either. They are just as deserving to die and repent for their selfish engagement in warring with other factions than Ellie is. I wanted Abby to die with all my heart I was literally mashing the square button in a desperate attempt to kill her by drowning, yet when I almost drowned her, the game forcefully robs you of making your entire journey through the game worth it for you the player and worth it for Ellie ,who on top of losing everything loses 2 fingers and cant even play Joel's guitar anymore. She is left with nothing and killing Abby was the make or break point for this game. This game could have been one of the very best games ever made if naughty dog did not upend the entire worth of the game with that sham of an ending and final moments of the game. Way to go naughty dog for breaking my freaking heart and robbing me of an experience I invested 60$ and 30 hours of my time into. This could have been one of the greatest games of this console generation or possibly of all time. Way to go Naughty dog, you should be ashamed of yourself. Did you forget your loyal gamers whom you have a responsibility to? you must have. Yes go and collect your blood money from the numerous sales. The blood on that money is as bloody as the blood in the game. Ive chosen to forego complaining about the propoganda and social agenda aspects towards the LGBTQIA elements of the game for the more important elements that I have discussed above. Naughty dog should be ashamed of themselves for turning the greatest game of this console into its worst.… Expand

    I played the whole game just because of the lies from Neil Druckman, Naughty Dog and Sony. It is not so important, what your own opinion on this game is but to lie at your costumers to sell your stuff can NEVER be a right way. So i won´t get my money back so there is only one consequence: Don´t ever again buy anything where Druckman is involved.

    Naughty Dog screwed up big time with this one (and I'm not talking about the sales figures). This is the first time I've been so pissed off and insanely disappointed from a video game. It left such a horrible taste in my mouth that after completing this, I didn't play another game for more than a month. I completely lost interest in gaming for so many days, that was the extent of frustration I had with this game.

    Now, you have no idea how much it sucks for me to say all of this because the original Last of Us game holds a dear place in my heart, it is one of my favourite games of all time and I've been dying to play Part II ever since. As you can see, my patience was rewarded with something so incompetent that it completely fails to capture the soul of its predecessor in nearly every aspect. Instead, it acts as a clone which tries to bask in the glory of its predecessor while making a mockery out of it.

    If Naughty Dog's motive was just to make loads of money and completely divide their loyal fanbase, then congrats! They did a fantastic job, they created a typical blockbuster in terms of total sales. However, if their purpose was to recreate that magic from the first game, then it is like I mentioned earlier, they screwed up.

    This is an ENORMOUS DOWNGRADE from the previous entry, it doesn't deserve to be a sequel to The Last of Us and that's why I'm giving it the lowest possible rating.

    Naughty Dog treated this sequel like a new IP and experimented way too much with it. They changed things that didn't need to change. The base material was completely altered. Moreover, a certain new character is forced upon us, or more precisely, shoved down our throats.

    We wanted more of The Last of Us, we wanted more of Joel and Ellie and we were deprived of that.    … Expand

    Probably my most eagerly awaited game, seven years in the making and while the gameplay, graphics and infected characters are amazing, the story and plot are just hideous and poorly executed, in the end, it was all pointless.

Different writer makes this game a very different one with the first one, but is alright but remember THIS GAME IS NOT A 10/10, those media who rate the game 10/10 is piece of liar that didn't know a thing about video games

The game looks so good, I still can't believe it how amazing this game is, the visuals, the graphics, the characters, everything. But they really made us waiting for story like this, it's just awful, I couldn't take it at all. Yea I know what Neil wanted to say but this is just horrible for me at least. They way they killed Joel, the way Ellie turned into a cold blooded killer is just not what I was looking for. It supposed to be a story about Joel and Ellie, not about some random character who has a huge desire for revenge and then we had to play with that character too. I would happily give this game maximum rating if there would be a story which makes sense and would be enjoyable. For me the game ended when Joel was brutally killed with a damn golf bat, I mean come on, he deserved so much better, we, fans deserved so much better. If I could go back in time, im sure that i wouldn't buy this game. It caused me so much disappointment. If you have 7 years to write a story, then why would you come up with something like this? I'm really sad to say this but I regret that i've bought this game.… Expand

    - The ending and the morale of the story makes no sense when you think back at what the main character has done to get there.

    If we could compare The Last of Us 2 to a movie, it would be an extremely high budget movie, with the best actors, the best CGI, but written by someone with no experience.

    Also, it's hard to support a game brought by a man that fired most of the people that created The Last of Us 1 and the Uncharted series over creative differences..    … Expand

    Hats off to the gameplay, ambience, environment, voice acting, acting, etc... it was amazing. However, what the **** are you thinking ND? The story is a cluster**** of going back and forth between timelines and just confusing and most deaths feel so empty. Also Ellie loses EVERYTHING and lets abby win, come on. Not looking forward to another entry of this franchise, I’m done.

    I played the Last Of Us originally, I fell in love with the story and thought it was amazing and Geary aching. I waited for years for the second one and I was so disappointed at the game. They really took away the wholesomeness and feminine side of Ellie. The dead of Jessi, like a **** If this characters are like humans why you keep leaving Abby if she is who commited her vengance, is annoying.

I hope you don't like any of the characters from the first game or any of the hero characters from the beginning of the Last of Us 2. I can accept that this is a story of revenge and that Joel dies but I never expected all of the hero's to be dead, mutilated, traumatized with PTSD, destroyed marriages, and their lives in complete ruin at the end of the game while the villain quite literally sails off into the distance to live a happy and successful life.… Expand

    But this game is just terrible, the gameplay is still there, and it is still solid. And sometimes gameplay can save a game with a bad story, but it can't save this one.
    GAMEPLAY
    The gameplay is pretty much identical to the first game, with a few minor tweaks and a few new weapons to play with. So if you liked the way the first one felt, you'll probably like how this one feels.
    STORY
    The story is a complete dumpster fire. They took every character we ever liked and either killed them or completely changed them so they are shell of their former personality. They force you to commit atrocities and then point the finger at you saying "Player why would you do such a thing, don't you feel bad?" None of the people in this game talk like you would expect to talk in real life, it feels like a very badly acted out children's play. The writing is sincerely bad, and you need only look at the other reviews to confirm this. The plot is a revenge plot, and some revenge plots can work extremely well, look at The Princess Bride, one of the greatest movies of all time, but the important thing about revenge plots is payoff. There needs to be a reason for us to care about the outcome and the outcome needs to be satisfying. During this game everyone Ellie loves dies or leaves her on her quest to get revenge, and when revenge is finally within your grasp, they take it away from you, and let the antagonist just get away. The bad guy gets away, and you lost everything near and dear to you, bam, wallop, that'll be $60. What in the world were they thinking? It would have been okay if we could sympathize with Abby at all, but she is just a dumb **** Her brains match her muscles in that they look like rocks. Her character is totally unbelievable and feels unlike any human I have ever met.
    I came away from this game wondering what took 7 years. Especially with all of the news we got about Naughty Dog overworking their employees and having massive crunch times. Did they spend all 7 years on the graphics alone? Because they didn't spend it on writing, and the gameplay is almost identical so they didn't spend it making new gameplay mechanics. And there is no multiplayer so they didn't put an ounce of effort towards that either. This game is extremely disappointing. If you still think you might like it after reading this review then go ahead and buy it, judge for yourself, but I'd recommend against it.    … Expand

Took around 16 hours to complete actually grew to like some of the new characters and to see Ellie all grown up was amazing i can completely understand the games theme of revenge and i get why they killed Joel but the way it was done was bad you don't even see him really until you play as this new character Abby. The fact that at the end Ellie basically loses everything for nothing just really hit hard hoping for some DLC as i need to know what happened to Dina, overall graphics amazing and the story is empty.… Expand

The complete lack of character development on the part of Issac, Jesse, Manny, etc. who were all killed in a meaningless manner. Not only was the ending abysmal and unrealistic, but it was also far too predictable from the writing of the entire game. The LOU 2 is not doing any good forcing the user to play as a character universally hated, and seeing no justice done. When there are video compilations of people killing Abby hoping that was the ending, you already know the writing was dog trash.

    For the upsides of this game, the actual gameplay was enjoyable and the game looked fantastic. That's about it.    … Expand

    This is 20 hours of hot garbage, everyone rent the game, do not spend 60 on this game. No joke, just do not, the pacing, the action, the storytelling, this entire game is awful. Takes two hours for the story to even begin, there was couple good moments around 7th hour into the game, and then from the 12th hour to the ending, it just sucks. This entire game is garbabge, this game sucks period.

I think the first The Last of Us is the best game of all time and this screwed everything up! The director should be ashamed of making such a bad story. It does not make sense at all. You have to play with the person who killed your hero and have to defeat the game's protagonist. It does not even let you choose. I let Abby die for Ellie, because there is no sense defeating the protagonist, but the game just did not allowed! Besides that, Ellie just take wrong decisions and let the map saying exactly where they are. And after Ellie killed everyone Abby loved, she just say "Do not come after me anymore".

    I honestly can't trust any critic giving this a 100 score because this is not a perfect game in any way. I personally don't think any game can truly be given a 100 score because there is always room for improvement.     The story itself isn't the best and is a little too on the nose at time as they try to shove the point down your throat, rather than letting the gamer get to the conclusions they want them to by themselves. I feel they might have been able to up the score of this game to a 6/7 if they had did a better job with the games timeline. Some of the choices they made confused me quite a lot. This would have worked better if they had chopped and changed the timeline. Overall I didn't love the story, I felt the pacing was off as you played due to decisions they made, the ending (whilst it left me an emotional, crying mess) was bitterly disappointing and left me feeling numb about the whole thing. You can kind of see what they were going for but it didn't land at all given the decisions they made of when characters would be introduced. At about the 50% mark you reach a point where you are suddenly just trying to get through a part of the game, not really caring or paying attention to what is going on as you work to get back to a part you care even 2% about.     To be brutally honest it was one of the worst stories i have experienced in gaming, the way they treat characters from the first game is disrespectful and brutal, the pacing is completely off and it feels like they are genuinely trying to make you either angry or sad all the way throughout the game, there is so much more i could say but that would involve spoiling the plot, the story is such a big factor in this franchise that no matter how good the gameplay and graphics are i cannot give this game a good score because i felt nothing but anger, disappointment, sadness and a feeling of emptiness at times.

    The ending of this story also made the whole journey feel pointless and also left me feeling very unsatisfied, to me this game could have been one of the best of the generation, it feels like the design team pulled out their A game but the story team wanted to go a route which would divide players for the sake of being different but not only was this route definitely not one they should have taken but it was also implemented very poorly indeed.

    I waited a long time for this game and feel nothing but anger and disappointment from the game's story even though the combat was enjoyable and the graphics were nice to look at.... despite these two good points of the game i still couldn't fully appreciate them because of the story of the game.

    I will also say it was nice to see naughty dog implement little hints of positivity towards the lgbtq community and also the inclusion of a trans character, i know some people believe this was forced a bit but i see it as a positive part of the game, it's just a shame that of all the games to do this it was one which ultimately released as a big disappointment to me and many others. i just wished this game could have had a story even half as good as the first one, then it would have been something special.    … Expand

    In this game Ellie and Abby are unstable characters where Ellie suddenly forgives Abby at end , Abby kills her own Wolf group who were innocent(friends of Abby) and just following orders of their leader Issac just to save Lev
