    For a game centralized around a story, compared to the prelude of the first game, I was VERY disappointed. I almost quit playing 3 hours in. The graphics are great, but I don't care about that. I played this for the story. The battle is ok, but not much refined, just easier than in the first game.

    Then this company decided to destroy the interest in the story I had in the first game. It's not just what happened, it's how utterly disrespectful and mean they were towards the main characters. Shells of their former selfs. I was disgusted.

    I could never manage to finish it. Please, hire Anita Sarkeesian as an advisor for the story and characters again. Please tell me in beforehand so I know the entire game is propaganda for PC politics, instead of being a good game with a story I would feel gripped around.

While the game play and graphics have seen a dramatic improvement the story in my opinion is quite contrived and poorly executed. It is almost on the level of a poorly written fanfiction. The sequence almost seems like the events that happen in the game are out of order. Due to this game I don't intend to ever touch naughty dog games again. After one of the Main characters from the first games is killed in a very brutal way. I lost almost all desire to play. At least I did not pay for this game I got it from a friend who bought it and hated it.… Expand

    Good attention to details, good graphics BUT its reeeealy boring! Gameplay didnt change since 1st part, repetetive and makes me sleepy . And this story... Awful story with bad wtiting and tons of cliche. Shame on you naughty dog...

Before people assume this is because "Oh he does not like LGBT" No. I personally feel the way they handle Ellie being a Lesbian in the first game was done to perfection. However. The same kind of themes in this game feel forced down your throat and seem really poorly written. I gave this game a 1 out of 10. I did not give it a 0 because the graphical improvement is very well and I believe the graphics at least deserve some praise.

    It breaks my heart what they have done to our beloved characters. Playing half of the game as a character we have no connection to or have any emotional investment into. I really want to wish that when I wake up tomorrow this was all a dream but I know it won't be, I really really hope that the developers open their eyes and see what they have done and don't make this mistake again.    … Expand

    Obviamente va con spoilers. Empecemos no vi ningún spoiler antes de jugar creo que eso es un punto importante y que puede influenciar a muchas opiniones, Empezare por lo que no me ha gustado y obviamente es la historia, ojo, entiendo que a mucha gente le guste pero voy a dar mi opinión de porque no me parece buena y es la misma que la de todos. Yo me pase el the last of us 1 hace medio año y lo tengo bastante fresco me gustó mucho sobre todo por lo minimalista de la historia allí no eran 6 o 7 peonajes desarrollándose eran solo Ellie y Joel una historia suya donde tenias diálogos opcionales excepcionales que te hacían interesarte por saber mas de esos personajes en cambio en este juego cambias tanto de compañero que no te llega a gustar nadie no veo buenas relaciones, por que Jesse o Dina se van con Ellie, puedo suponerlo pero por que a dina le gusta Ellie no veo ese toque personal que veía en el primero como poco a poco se construían la relacion entre ambos protagonistas. Bueno vamos con el gran spoiler la muerte de joel nada criticable (al contrario que con Tommy el cual yo creo que no se atrevieron a matar) me pareció valiente aunque no me gustara eso no me pareció malo al igual que me parece valiente que te obliguen a jugar con Abby pero te arriesgas a esto, a que a la mayoría de gente no le guste jugar con la persona que se ha cargado al protagonista, y ojo me parece que Abby es la verdadera protagonista de este juego me aunque pasa como con Ellie no llegas a empalizar del todo con ella, de un día para otro cambia de opinión y ya solo piensa en ayudar a unos sefaritas no se me parece repentino, a esto añadimos que te hacen pelear contra Ellie en el teatro. En lo personal pensaba que el juego se iba a acabar con Ellie y Dina en la granja no me parecía tan mal final pero de golpe vuelta a por Abby vamos a matar a mas gente para mi venganza y ahora que la tengo delante vamos a olvidar y a perdonar pero a las mas de 100 personas que he matado para llegar a ti no importan a la cada uno a lo suyo Abby a hacer su vida mientras que Ellie se queda sola sinceramente hubiera preferido que murieran las dos o algo por el estilo. En resumen no me parece una buena historia en la que pienses bueno si hubieran hecho esto o lo otro seria mejor, no me parece un the last of us donde se le dan cariño a los personajes se le dan mimo me parece una pelicula de blockbuster donde es mas importante la espectacularidad que los propios personajes (Ej: Abby pasando de un edificio a otro por una grúa y un puente un tanto dudoso).
    -En cuanto al gameplay es bueno adictivo aunque puede llegar a cansarte un poco (no en mi caso) muy continuista pero como tiene que ser para no perder la esencia añadiendo algunas mecanicas la esquiva el ir por el suelo.
    -En cuanto a la calidad gráfica nada que objetar es naughty dog haciendo cosas de naughty dog.
    -Conclusión: ¿Es the last of us parte dos un mal juego?, (Este juego es como un libro, te puede gustar mas o menos pero no por eso es un mal libro) para nada esta por encima de la media pero al ser sobre todo narrativo si no te gusta la historia ya esta perdido. Sin duda lo recomendaría a todo el mundo pero al no haberme gustado a mi lo siento se queda con un 4.    … Expand

    Total disappointment, visually good, with a slightly improved mediocre gameplay from last game, but has one of the worst narratives I'v ever seen, highly inconsistent characters, absolutely ridiculous plot full of holes, and the pacing is SO BAD. The narrative is just so bad that it breaks any immersion you might have, and it does this constantly.

Концовка вообще ужас, гнаться за человеком, убившим твоего «отца», а потом отпустить его это дибилизм. Мотивы Элли заезженные до нельзя.     The gameplay is great
    The sceneries are amazing that at times i would get lost into the game
    The Sounds are unmatched
    Both the Music and the soundtrack is as best as it ever was

    But here's where we go downhill, The story looks as it is written by Ubisoft, But the sad part is that it isn't. The story contains way more plot holes than many games I've played this decade. The Characters are no nowhere like the first game. Joel and Tommy are so dumb in this game and so are most of the characters including those by Abby, They should've killed us off if they knew we were going to come after them. Ellie isn't like she was in the first game. i really wish this game was never released as it ruined the reputation of ND in me. I am just going to stick with the first game.

    It is very apparent after reading the reviews that those who like this game are the very casual gamers, or those who haven't played The Last of Us Part 1 when it came out.    … Expand

    Very deceiving and shady by Sony Entertainment Corporation. We were promised a game just like the first game by the marketing and the fact that it is a sequel, but yet we got something miserable if you like the first game. As a standalone game it's also awful as the set piece is all wrong and the game is just too long. Wasted $60 I and many others will need a refund.

The message of the game, that revenge is bad and that it is good to forgive is lost during the game itself, since Ellie takes revenge on practically everyone, except for Abby, apart from the fact of the contradiction, since Abby gets her revenge for complete and does not give Joel the same forgiving benefit. The game treats Abby as a hero and turns Ellie into a villain, the motivation being the same, Joel killed Abby's father and Abby killed Ellie's "father" (Joel), however their fate is worked out different way.… Expand

First they kill off Joel, then push the character who killed him (Abby) and make her into a character in which you are forced to play as. They also make the protagonist (Ellie) go on a revenge quest only at the end to spare Abby. Then seemingly leaving Ellie to return to nothing, making this whole story pointless. If they had a little bit of sense they would have given us at least some choices throughout the game. It has been 7 years, with that amount of time you could have made alternate endings.… Expand

    The story...............
    ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY THE WORST THING EVER CREATED. Neil druckman should be fired for this. Joel can’t say I wasn’t expecting his death in part 2 BUT he deserved BETTER. That aside playing through the first part with Ellie was absolutely enjoyable. Then.... they made me play as Abby... I DONT WANT TO DO THAT NOR DID I.
    The game became a chore after that I felt NO desire to play anymore. I shut the game off and deleted it off of my PlayStation. And looked up the ending and other stuff on YouTube.
    I understand they wanted her character to be empathized with but NO. They failed she is a BUFF chick who beat Joel to death with a golf club because Joel stabbed her father in order to save Ellie. AFTER her father wouldn’t listen to Joel’s warning. He didn’t torture him. He stabbed him ONCE.
    I don’t care about her dad or her I wanted her dead and her friends.
    Instead she kills Ellie’s friend and breaks both of Ellie’s arms and STILL gets to live at the end. Why was Abby allowed her revenge but Ellie was not. Why did Ellie have to lose it all? FINGERS INCLUDED.
    I don’t accept TLOU2 as cannon and I can’t be convinced otherwise 0/10.
    I hate Abby and congratulations to Neil druckman and naughty dog for losing the trust of all their fans and supporters. DONT BUY THIS GAME    … Expand

    I cannot recommend this game for anyone who enjoyed the first one. If you hated the first one, and its entire character cast, then this game is for you. Otherwise I would recommend passing this up. I would never pay for this game personally.    … Expand

It is because she tortures someone to death it doesn’t matter who it is that is never ok. Bueno, el juego tiene muy buenos graficos, eso nadie lo puede negar, pero lo que de verdad no me encanto fue la trama, eso de eliminar a Joel a mi si me dolio, porque es un personaje que comenzó el juego principal que todos jugamos y adoramos; lo mataron así de la nada para centrarnos la historia entre ellie y abby. Joel es parte esencial del juego, de un buen tiempo si sabíamos que ellie iba ser el personaje principal y joel iba a formar parte pero un poco, pero iba a estar, eso es lo importante. Nosotros queríamos saber la nueva aventura en que se iban a embarcar ellos dos pero solo decidieron eliminarlo como si fuera un personaje cualquiera; otra cosa que tambien no le daba sentido a la trama era ¿porque recurrir tanto "el viaje en el tiempo"? osea una hora tu tabas en el presente, pero sucedía una cinemática y ya estabas en el pasado, y si te distraes no sabes si estás en el presente o pasado pasando un buen tiempazo deduciendo, además toda esa trama del pasado debió ser The last of us part II porque para así tener un orden de secuencia, y después la trama principal ya debió ser The last of us part III pero decidieron mezclar todo, creo que los desarrolladores le dieron más importancia a la calidad ultra 4k del juego que la historia principal.… Expand

    is barley a game its a really boring soap opera that is a far cry from the story build up from the original. when you have to push yourself just to get through the next part it is not a game anymore. graphics are top notch but the game is full of bugs, horrible written AI scripts bugging around or doing nothing.

And just for the sheer technical creativity this gets a 3 but the direction that was taken here from a story stand point was a disaster. Played an hour and it killed the mood and the franchise. The game offers a very wide options for approach for every combat which is amazing and an improvement in contrast to the first game. The graphics are breathtaking and the best of PS4, which I can guarantee wont be topped, the mocap, the details in the models, it's incredible. The game delivers a tense and dangerous atmosphere. But the big problem is that the story has a lot of weaks points and some characters arcs dont make sense at all. The game forces the player to empathize with Abby with very forced scenes snd moments to no avail. And the conclusion is unsatisfactory and a complete mess in both mecanics and plot. In a story-heavy oriented game like this, it is unforgivable.… Expand

    Motivations of characters make no sense, game play hasn't evolved in the last decade, false advertising from the trailers, game was WAY too long with too much filler, Abby wasn't needed, focus on Ellie.

    Oh, it looks pretty though... 2/10

    Naughty Dog pushes too much of this feminism and progressive bulls*t to disgusting levels.     In general, i love the controls, the graphics, the world. But the characters and the story are really bad, i dont know why they make this in this game. i know neil druckman wanted to express his opinion or ideas but not force it. Or go in little pieces. I know they arent going to change anything, but please make something with this. dont leave this series like that.

For a story-driven game this is the equivalent to a bad fan fiction written overnight or B-side horror flick only seven years in the making, backed by triple A money and made by the supposed cream of the crop in the creative industry today. A hack and slash blood-fest tale of a girl gutted of all that made her adored and cherished in this game's predecessor, bent on cold hard (*cough* dull) vengeance at the cost of hundreds of human lives. (Because Joel's death mattered, who cares if hundreds of people have to die, their lives were nothing compared to Joel's!) A grim, emotionless Ellie who by the end is trumped in likeability and redeemable qualities by the very villain she's trying to kill. A villain who goes through the cycle of revenge *for* Ellie to learn from, who consistently rises above the themes of revenge that Ellie can't and becomes a better person for it (letting Ellie and her friends live twice over) and reclaiming some form of a life.

    Okay, story told, lesson learned right? Ellie and Dina living their dream happily ever after. Alas, the character assassination continues. Ellie can't sleep, can't eat... consumed by Joel's death. There's only one thing for it... Abbie must die! That's when I knew that this bad game was sinking even lower. Character development, story arc? Forget about it, Cue inevitable showdown, finally a resolution! Ellie will kill Abbie, and suffer all the ramifications this brings. Well, nope. She'll just kill a few more humans, stab Abbie a few times and almost drown her to realise what it took Abbie seconds to realise. We are robbed of the satisfaction of her doing the mistake she set out to do the entire game, in favour of this light bulb moment we already got hours before from Abbie. She goes back to an empty house. Revenge is bad.

    You know what else is bad? This game. I don't care how gorgeous your graphics are. Don't force me to kill hundreds of people and a dog in the name of revenge and then have the audacity to tell me that I can't have my revenge because revenge is bad and I'm a bad person for wanting it, bad bad and shame on me!    … Expand

    The gameplay was not fun for me. I just wanted to advance in the game quickly. Since I knew some of the spoilers, I didn't want to pass much time in the game. Why are they trying tod destroy the first game? The story is wrong. Rise of Tomb Rider is the king ofthis genre.
