    This is an absolute abomination. They butchered the story and it is clear character assassination, Joel is nothing like he was in the first game, makes a very stupid and out of character mistake that real Joel would never do.     All that is good about this game is the graphics. The gameplay is clunky and slow the jump doesn't work half the time and the story is quite frankly horrendous! I tried so hard to avoid all leaks but now I wish I had seen them so I didn't waste my money. This has ruined the most beloved franchise that playstation/Sony had. Wow just wow

    Utterly depressing. It’s like woke revenge despair porn for western culture. If you play this it not only depresses you but also ruins the first game as well. Do yourself a favour and don’t touch this with a barge pole if you want to still have fond memories of the first game.

This game would have been a lot better if the cutscenes were organized in a way that made sense. There is no reason to introduce Abby's backstory late into the game if Joel ends up dying 2 hours into the games plot.I believe alot of people were angry at the writers for killing Joel too early and if they added his death scene near the end of the game and skipped that entire sequence entirely the games poorly written script couldve been covered up slightly. Game wouldve made more sense if they took the route Heavy Rain took with their antagonist and revealed her intentions as the game went on instead of putting it 2 hours into the game and spitting in our faces for it . Dialogue between the new characters felt unnatural and awkward giving a high school drama vibe to it. The pacing of the game didnt make any sense. All new characters were uninteresting especially Dina and Abby. The relationship between Ellie and Abby didnt add anything to the story and it was a massive downgrade from the Joel and Ellie relationship in the first game. The game looked great but the game felt empty at times. The notes were mostly useless information if it didnt have safe combinations. The hero card collectibles were whatever. The design team was let down by the writing team for sure. This game has a lot of wasted potential.… Expand

    Stupid things that made me mad at this game:
    - Joel deserved better but they made him so stupid to trust random strangers and give them his
    name
    - Golf club ? Really ? I wouldn't be mad if Joel would die at the end as a hero
    - Ellie killing everyone in her path but at the end she has a **** vision that makes her let Abby go,
    really ? Everything we've done goes to nothing, then she comes back and finds out she's all alone
    now and she can't even play the guitar cause Abby bites off her fingers, so **** stupid
    - ND false advertising, everyone knows what I'm talking about.

As bad as this game is the more worrying aspect is the mental stability or lack thereof of Neil Druckman, after forcing out legendary Writer/creative powerhouse Amy Hennig Neil seemed to take it upon himself to destroy The Last Of Us 2 by inserting politics and most alarmingly himself into the game
    He turned female characters into disgusting androgynous abominations, motion capped himself having sex with above mentioned androgynous abominations, featured himself on in game collectibles where he implied he was some kind of super genius, Brutally killed off a beloved main character for the crime of being a man and riddled the games diary entries and collectibles with gender politics and inter sectional ideology

    Inter sectional ideology is built upon a nebulous foundation of unfalsifiable hypothesis which directly contradict both observable reality and honest scientific research and most importantly has no place in a game about Mushroom zombies

    If you want a good laugh and have some spare time go and have a look at every video game "journalist" who gave this game a perfect score and you will start to see many similarities

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to begin this review by talking about the good points of The Last Of Us Part 2:

    1. Gameplay is awesome.
    2. The graphics and level design are superior to any other game I've seen. 3. The crafting system works well.

    If I'm being totally honest, they're the only things that I actually liked about the game. Over the course of 21 hours (total gameplay) I found myself frustrated, angry and upset with how the writers had approached this method of story telling. I see various reviewers giving this game the title of 'Game Of The Year' however, I find these same people to have no emotional connection with the first entry and its characters. Having a screen writer such as Hailey Gross - I was expecting the story to really take off however, this wasn't the case. If the death of Joel wasn't bad enough and approached in the most careless way imaginable, you're then forced to play as Abbey for the remainder of the game, whom kills Joel. Often, through out the game, the screen writers painted Joel in a bad light and other characters were somewhat cold towards him. I Feel as though naughty dog have gone back on themselves. Instead of continuing a story about the relationship of Ellie and Joel, they writers often deconstructed the emotional connection you had with both characters and replaced that with less interesting characters. Also, I feel as though the agenda of Ellie and Dinnas relationship was only wrote in to appease a particular audience. I didn't mind they wanted to have some lgqbt stuff within the game however, the foundation of the game wasn't built on this so, why are they pushing it so hard in the second? I'm not 'small minded' for thinking this way however, I just find it unnecessary when the first game was never about that apart from the left behind DLC.

    You're not even 'rewarded' for the death of Joel which is sad. I guess the real winners are naughty dog whom lied about the leaks which were more than accurate. Instead of pushing feminist/SJW/LGQBT agendas on the fans of the first game, you could of stayed loyal to the fans and continued on with the relationship between Ellie and Joel. I will not be going back for the third installment.

Level design is the only good thing about gameplay. A.I. is cheap too (some enemies are cool like the dogs).     The story. Holy heck the story. Shock for the sake of shock has been done before. There's nothing new there. If you want to experience a repeat cycle of it then a montage of shock fanfics on the internet would do better. Trust me, you've never experienced anything like it. But even if you want to do shock then don't expose yourselves as ametures. What made Game of thrones initially good was that they knew how to pick up the story after the shock hit. Everyone went to try and replicate that but it was easy to tell the fake from the professionals because the fakes never understood that the power of GOT wasn't in the shock but the intriguing political duels and battles surrounding it. After "that" scene this game's story and characters become very awkward in their lines and acting. The script writers have no clue how to write a story from that point on and thought a cheaper version of GOT shock would be enough (pfft, ametures... hey, i'm actually sounding like a real critic). This game just keeps going back and forth and back and forth between stuff without character progression and without giving meaning to itself nor to the game it is a sequel of. Quite the opposite actually, it takes out all meaning from the first game. And the one point where they had an oppurtunity and could have maybe pushed the industry forward despite having a horrendous game before that point was completely missed. They could have given us a choice to kill her or not as that's the uniqueness of video game story telling. But nope, they opted for a linear approach (to be fair, it's not like giving us a choice there would have been newand revolutionary either) which is something seen in the oldest narrative games on the store and every movie on the planet, and then critics say this story pushes the industry forward in terms of story telling? No. That's Detroit. That's Witcher. Those pushed the story telling in the industry and the Witcher did it whilst advancing the gameplay in each entry. This, TLOU2, is just an insult. This game deserves to not be rated anywhere near those games or any game over an 85 anyway. The story was pushing "revenge is bad" via its linearity so bad that it failed. In the end, i didn't feel like revenge is bad. Abby gains everything while Ellie loses everything. Everyone except Abby loses in the cycle of revenge. Abby is the only one to have her moment.

    And by rating it as high as the critics have, they have nuked and cheapened and made meaningless all the hard work, effort, awards and approval the gaming industry has fought for all these decades. By falsifying reviews on the PS store even before the game's release (which is why i didn't review it there and decided to do it here) sony has spat on the work of all game developers and the industry. You have cheapened the efforts and achievements of the first TLOU game. If TLOU2 deserves a high rating, then many other games deserve higher.

    I give this game a 1 for good level design and good visuals, even though the latter is expected in a game coming this late in the PS4 life. But its flaws are too many and too deep.

I can't really believe how the second game can be so bad, while the first game is so beautiful. The Last of Us was a brand I valued a lot. I still value the first game very much and I enjoy it even though it has been 7 years. However, I was very uncomfortable even when I finished the second game for the first time. Maybe I gave the game such a bad score because I was very emotional, but I am sure this game does not deserve 95. There are thousands of games and movies about zombies. What makes The Last of Us so popular is their characters. Father-daughter relationship between Joel and Ellie. These two characters make this game valuable. I'm not saying anything to Joel's death, I'm just bothered that it was done so badly. While I missed these two characters so much, I think we should have spent some time with them. Not with flashbacks! I think it would be a better time for Joel to die later. The death of Joel in the first hours of the game made me angry, I was angry not because he died, I was angry because we couldn't spend time with him. I also congratulate whoever came up with the idea of ​​playing with Abby. He/She couldn't make the game worse. I felt that the time I played with Abby was wasted. Another issue is that Abby isn't dead at the end of the game. Ellie is returning for revenge, but just losing more. Two fingers and Dina. Utterly disappointed with the story arc and character development. Misleading trailers , half game is you know what. Please don’t make a third. Diálogos de adolescentes. É difícil que a história goste aos fãs do primeiro jogo. Tem situações muito forçadas. A nota dos médios está manipulada, Sony teve que pagar por esses 10/10.

    La IA por momentos funciona mal, tirando a los personajes hacía atrás cuándo te les acercás. Obviamente se siente poco natural y rompe la inmersión.

Ellie lost her girl, her father figure, her friends, her two fingers, and apparently her sense of self because she decided the cycle of violence had to end with Abby. Even Abby basically lost everything all because of her own revenge tirade.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So disappointed in the choices made by the developers. I loved the first game and have spent so long waiting for this to come along. The graphics were beautiful, the gameplay took everything I loved about the original and tweaked it, but the narrative decisions were heartbreaking in the worst way. It felt like watching the final season of Game of Thrones again. Someone who loved the original game as much as I do must have raised their voice during the development process to tell them they were going down a path that their loyal fans most likely wouldn't want to go.

    Much has been made of the diversity of the game, and Liberal political subtext. Despite some mediums diversifying to the point of being unrealistic, in this case it didn't really bother me. What bothered me most is that the makers thought they could somehow enlighten the player on the issues of violence and prejudice when most people have come back to escape and be absorbed into a story that can be an emotional roller-coaster, but not one you want to get off of.

    The hardest thing to accept was Joels' relationship with Ellie after what they had been through, his relegation to a background character who makes evidently very poor decisions for a man so worldly wise, and his horrific death at the hands of a small group of people after having despatched hundreds of different enemies during the previous game. Joel is actually spat on while dying in a pool of blood, Ellie crying and pleading for his life - why would you do this to your fans who've waited so long to be reunited with these characters, and why later on make us play again as the killer only to have Ellie let her live after spending the whole game seeking revenge?

    It brought back thoughts of the Walking Dead/Negan story arc and we all know what that did for that show......

    Naughty Dog, I think it was a conceited mistake to assume this game would be accepted based on the amount of work put in, how technically good it is and how greatly anticipated it was - the narrative didn't further the original story, it threw it away.

    I am glad I still have the original to go back to, and genuinely sorry that the sequel storyline ended up as it has....    … Expand

    This is the only review I’ve done for just about anything. Disappointing to say the least. I give a 2/10 just to commend the graphics and gameplay. It’s truly so bad that I regret even having played the original. Maybe I can understand why some may enjoy it, but I can’t support the game. This is just my opinion and I actually hope some can enjoy the game.

I remember seeing the trailer for the first game (the og one from 2011) and thought “wow, what the hell is this?”. Never thought about playing it until I got my PS4 which came with digital remastered version. God damn I **** loved it, became my favourite story for a video game ever. Then I heard they’re making a sequel and I personally thought the game didn’t need a second game, because I thought the first one ended perfectly. But I was still excited, then few years later and after avoiding the spoiling leaks I got my copy. I **** WISH I GOT THE GAME SPOILED FOR ME, THEN I WOULD NOT HAVE WASTED MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE! Now that’s off my chest, this game is full of plot holes, poor character development, and just overall bad writing. Especially if you’re a fan of the last game, if you’re a hardcore fan like me then I’m so sorry. I just can’t believe they kill one of the most beloved video game characters and had the balls to replace this dead lovable character with their KILLER?! Then Naughty Dog expects you to feel sorry for this unlikeable new character and justified for why they killed this loved character. Neil **** Druckmann are you delusional? Oh yeah, they make you feel sorry for this new character way after she killed Joel **** it, I’m spoiling it). So you have no **** idea why this character killed Joel until way after, And when you do find out why she killed Joel you don’t **** care. Because you already hate her guts.
