EA, do you want to make a Pay-to-Win game? Ok, make it free. Full charge 60-70 USD for a game, and afterwards 'micro-charge' (up to 2000 USD) us to unlock full content is a total shame.

Too bad, EA. Now, you are making a desperate salvage operation for this game in his launch week, when the 80% of the sales is usually make, retiring 'temporaly' the micro-transactions, and activating

An appropriate analogy for this product is a soft and comfy bed layered by a blanked of needles. Deep down there is a good game here but it has been absolutely absorbed by greedy practices by the developer.

*See A majority of the other reviews* This game had promise and hype and just like any other game ea has put out in the last decade its riddled with opportunity for the company to beg for the remaining pennies of their poor suckers of customers.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) was a potential gem of a game ruined by corporate greed and predatory business practices. The entire game is built around microgambling and loot boxes and will require a complete overhaul before I could recommend a purchase. Do NOT buy this game!

Originally gave it a 4 now updated to a 0. They have now removed the pay for crystals system, at least for now. "For now" is not good enough and is a slap in the face like "reducing" high cost heros.

There's no balance necessary. It's just a bad game, a bad system, and a crappy experience. And nothing about it fits the star wars universe.

Why are cards even in the game? Just like madden, fifa, and now need for speed? It's so lazy. Why not at least make the collectable something from the film like a data cube or holocron, something, anything. These guys are just reskinning unreleased battlefield content and wedging in EA card microtransactions.

They do not deserve our money. Don't fall for it just because you love star wars like I did. I'm really happy a film is being released soon otherwise this would have soured the franchise for me for quite some time. Hopefully disney or lucas will partner with a game studio that will make an actual effort next time.

    Original:
They reduced the grind but kept all pay-to-win. I cannot recommend a free-to-play game that sells at full retail. You will probably get a better value playing warframe or paladins since they have microtransactions that are better tuned to the community and the games are more fun generally.
I wouldn't recommend paying more than $20 which is more inline with the value of the single player campaign, while the multiplayer component should be free to play.

Micro transactions is nothing else but greed from E.A. and other developers going down this path.

The only "sense of accomplishment" Battlefront fans will get from this game is in the form of pride in the **** they've created against one of the worst implementations of micro transactions in a AAA, full price game ever. As consumers an a capitalistic society it is everyone's duty not to support devs who ruin the games we love for profit.

EA decided to incorporate loot boxes, gambling, pay to win, and grinding into a $60 game. On top of that, they had the balls to call the game "Star Wars Battlefront II", which is an insult to one of the greatest video games of all time

This would have been a fantastic game but it was eaten by EA's corporate greed. It's disgusting and EA should be ashamed of themselves. We are winning the battle but not the war.

SO while it takes 40 hours to unlock ONE character, you also have to include the cooldown to earn said credit, so that 40 hours could easy add up to 200 hours. Just because it's another Star Wars game, does not mean what you pay for will be a quality product, even the campaign is an incomplete mess.

    Cons:
    - P2W lootboxes
    - 40 hours PER character with DAILY cooldowns
    - Game costs $2160, not $60
    - EA has always been a terrible publisher
    - Campaign is garbage
    - Multiplayer will be based on who has the bigger wallet

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
