I was SO excited for this game. I literally was going to buy the deluxe edition and my friends were too. However after seeing the abomination of corporate greed and maliciously seeking out those with gambling problems with lootboxes, I will not purchase this game and neither will anyone I know. Star wars Gamblefront 2: the search for more money.

The BIGGEST piece of **** game where they charge you the MOST amount of money they possibly can and penalize you for not continuously paying for their beach houses. The game is riddled with bugs and they didnt even bother to finish the campaign. If you want a battlefront game, go play the originals or the one from 2015. Bonus

EA's Greed has brought this game to shame. Such a waste of the Star Wars License. Lootboxes and Micro-transactions should be banned indefinitely, ruined this game and exposing children to GAMBLING.

Micro-transactions and DLCs have been getting slowly but surely more and more out of control. We have all complained about having to pay extra for something on top of the game, and perhaps we have all justified it too. "Oh well, they are adding a whole new map!" etc. But it's getting ridiculous. If we don't do something now, Battlefield 2 will be the stepping stone that allows other games and developers and publishers to follow suit, push the envelope and place another stepping stone and another and another, until before long Pay to Win full-price AAA games loaded with microtransactions and lootboxes become the norm. Stop it now. Expand

I discovered microtransactions in Star Wars: Battlefront II and the controversy has blown up in EA's face. I will not spend a dime on loot boxes after paying $60 for the game. They are preying on young children too. Let's boycott the game as users until this goes away.

The only good thing about this game is that it's put the gambling-like nature of buying loot boxes in games out in the zeitgeist. People completely unrelated to this game know about and holding it up as an example of corporate greed preying on consumers.

Such a simple game to make. All they literally had to do was take the original BF2 and update the graphics and mechanics but EA's greed allowed them to screw up that simple task. This game should serve as a warning sign to gamers as to what the gaming industry is becoming. While there are still a ton of great studios making incredible games, as time goes on big companies like EA and ubisoft continue to mass produce cash grabs instead of making games to their true potential. Games like Assassins Creed and Call of Duty are just remade and reskinned year after year and people still buy these games for some reason. It's really depressing that this game, that actually looked great in the trailers and has really fun gameplay, has been ruined by the greed of the gaming industry. EA should focus on making a good game and letting it sell as it deserves, instead of limiting the game to get more money. I refused to buy another EA game with these current practices.

Would have been a pretty good game if it weren't for the damn microtransactions forcing you to pay to access **** that you PAID for when you bought the game!

Lootboxes at their worst, yet typical for EA. They could have worked out a better way to get extra money from the game, so the people who already paid full price would not feel forced to pay possibly thousands of dollars (no joke, unlocking everything costs over a thousand dollars). It's starting to fire back on them, as they deserve.

Yes, this is just another hate review. I won't buy this game and I am sure EA won't mind at all this bad buzz for the game as long as it sells but this is a way to making us be heard. I'm doing my part

I was gonna buy this game but the way that the developers handled loot boxes ruined it for me. I absolutely reject the idea of microtransactions for anything on paid games (even more if they're games prices +$50 and the microtransactions are not only for cosmetic items).
Buying - or not refunding - this legitimates the foreseeable future of gaming. Pay for the game, pay again to play it.

I feel sorry for the devs that made this game because the reality is, they didnt decide to add the pay for play system, EA did, their business development team did, and they should all be fired. But instead of putting up all these pay walls and stupid micro transactions, just owe up to the fact that you need more money and CHARGE MORE upfront but with everything unlocked! We don't want to grind our way through games, we dont want to be limited by our options and to not be able to do what we want to do. Yes we want progression but not at a financial cost. If you spent some of that money you've clearly had to spend to come up with these offensive micro transactions on actual focus groups, you would realise this. EA comes out as excessively greedy with this game that is entirely based on pay2win mechanism
This is the kind of thing one see on cheap apps on Apple Store, not what you'd expect from a premium game.

EA is the most evil money grubbing game company in the market that ruins everything they touch, including this game which would otherwise be great. Thanks EA. Thanks for ruining the hard work of the developers who spent sleepless nights making this polished game to turn it into complete corporate money grubbing ****

It's a shame that we waited so long for a game that is a shell of the original. It's a pay to win Mobil game that is being sold as a full price game.

It either takes thousands of hours or thousands of dollars to unlock the most useful items.

Maybe someday we will get a proper battlefront 2, but it's not this current game.

Pay2Win can kiss my @ss. This would be an amazing game if the publishers didn't push features like lootboxes. The lootbox system in this game is literal gambling. So if EA and Disney want to connect Star Wars titles to gambling, that's their decision but its a decision that sucks.

Locking tons of content behind a grindy paywall is something you would expect from a scummy free to play game, not a $60 AAA experience. EA's greed has killed a better than average game.

The only "sense of accomplishment" Battlefront fans will get from this game is in the form of pride in the **** they've created against one of the worst implementations of micro transactions in a AAA, full price game ever. As consumers an a capitalistic society it is everyone's duty not to support devs who ruin the games we love for profit.

This game is everything that i hate about EA. KIlling games with good mechanic with Pay-to-win model and Microtransactions.
If Luke was real. He would jump off a building if he sees what EA done with this franchise.
If Vader was real. He would jump in the lava again.

EA decided to incorporate loot boxes, gambling, pay to win, and grinding into a $60 game. On top of that, they had the balls to call the game "Star Wars Battlefront II", which is an insult to one of the greatest video games of all time

Lootcrates are form of gambling. Sometimes you win what you want and sometimes you don't win what you want. That's gambling isn't it. EA wants us to gamble to win in Battlefront 2

The very embodiment of Pay to win itself. EA has truly suffered from this game - not only will features be locked behind a paywall, but we also won't be falling into the trap of paying for them.
I hope you're happy. EA - it's in the Pay.

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
