    Battlefront 2 is a good example to stop buying games from EA. Everything that they promised at the beginning, that they are going to fix everything from the first one and "we have listened fans!" they F**KED it up. If you are buying a full priced game you should get proper game with a game mechanics that are fair for the buyer, but no! EA´s strategy is to make you pay more. UsuallyBattlefront 2 is a good example to stop buying games from EA.     Campaign is too short and the multiplayer is P2W. EA really screwed over an arguably well designed game with their standard brand of greed. Not to mention that you aren't allowed to play offline to gather credits as well because that doesn't fit into their profitable system.

Mind you, the industry has to be in a pretty sorry state that every new release by a major publisher turns the user reviews section into some weird sort of petition saying "f**k off with microtransactions". Seems insane to think you have Battlefield 1, that worked so well without this sort of economy, and decide to do more or less the same thing but as a $60 mobile game.

    For $60 you get a 4-hour-long mediocre campaign, and kids' favourite: loot crates gambling. People love gambling, it's human nature.

    I usually don't mind games with lootboxes or microtransactions due to the fact that they typically only serve cosmetic purposes. This game, however, has placed performance enhancing abilities and perks within lootboxes instead of awarding such skill points through normal progression of the game and completing challenges. Based on the gameplay videos I've seen, Battlefront 2 looks, sounds, and plays rather well. But the micro-transactions, and pay-to-win leveling up system implemented by EA is unacceptable and unbelievably greedy.     I had purchased this game having the highest of hopes since my childhood was filled with great memories of the original Star Wars Battlefront 2, however this game brings the series to a whole new low.     Besides the fact that EA tries really hard to gain money, by letting gamers buy shortcuts for heroes, the game itself is a huge step forward in the right direction. It looks great on PS4 Pro, has lots of different game modes in multiplayer and is finally the product we've been hardly tried to see in battlefront 1. With lots of things to do and the motivation to play a certain amount ofBesides the fact that EA tries really hard to gain money, by letting gamers buy shortcuts for heroes, the game itself is a huge step forward in the right direction.     Thankfully most heroes don't cost 60k credits anymore. So far, I'm a bit impressed what EA did, after people **** a reddit thread and voted down an explanation about 'why people should be proud to earn in a game, they already paid 60$ for'. But that's no reason to give a bad score to a great product. The upcoming DLC is completely free and somehow EA still tries to make money by giving an opportunity to earn heroes faster. To me, I don't really care. I won't spend money on this one and will try to earn my heroes with ingame credits. So should everyone else. The game is great, accept it    … Expand

    What I will comment on is the campaign which is actually what has me fired up. It is an example of completely deceitful marketing. Star Wars has not had such a portrayal in a game since the 1990's with TIE Fighter's Maarek Stele character. Instead what do we get? We get someone who defects less than halfway through the campaign and we spend the majority of the time doing a tired repeat of the old "Imperial repents and turns Rebel". That story has been done to death in other forms in the Star Wars franchise!

    We could have had a chance to see an Imperial struggling in the wake of the Rebellion's victory and the disintegration of the Empire, and maybe we could have gained some insight into how the First Order formed. We could have had a character winning battles even though the larger war is still lost.
    We didn't need a total Imperial fanatic, acting like the stereotyped 2-dimensional villain. TIE Fighter's Maarek Stele was an Imperial loyalist but was not blind to the faults of the Empire. He just ultimately thought that for all its faults it was still better than the alternative. In more recent stuff, we have the character Rae Sloane (which is actually referenced in the campaign), but Sloane actually stays loyal even though she disagreed with the Emperor's scorched earth plan (i.e. Operation Cinder), which is pretty clearly based off Hitler's "Nero Decree". We could have had a nuanced Imperial character. Instead we get the same juvenile depictions as if no sane non-fanatical person could possibly support the Empire, and the only "good Imperial" is a defector.

    Ultimately though I am angry because we were LIED to and given a bait and switch. We were told it would be an Imperial campaign to show the Imperai POV and to have some "Imperial heroes". Instead we got a Rebel campaign, which couldn't even keep its Imperial disguise on for very long.    … Expand

    EA likes to defend loot boxes by saying you always get something so its not gambling, but if everyone is honest its really no different, imagine a slot machine that had a minimum payout per spin of 1 cent, it costs 5 cents per spin, so you always get something..... but most of the time what you get is not worth what you put in, hence gambling.

    So yes i gave this game a zero because as far as i can tell its just a pretty slot machine that i have to pay to own and pay again to play.    … Expand

(it's confirmed that it truly happened unlike other games) Progression is slow but not ridiculous, and the effectiveness of crates is a lot lower.     Minor annoying parts of maps.
    Specialist class starts off pretty weak but becomes balanced later.

    The multiplayer is there to make EA money while the singleplayer is there to spread the political agenda of the insane feminist groups which have taken over the gaming industry (Ubisoft, EA, Activision) through subversion and threats.     To say this game is pretentious would be an understatement. EA has armed themselves well with smoke and mirrors to misdirect people's attention from the game's glaring issues. The multiplayer may very well be the greatest failure I have ever seen in a video game. Decades of pride and honor that Lucas Film and Disney have spent building and shaping a universe for us to get lost in and what happens when we finally get to have an interactive experience that we can share with our friends in Battlefront II? Nothing. Nothing happens.

    The game does not allow you to play your favourite heroes classes like you would be expect. For a game you've already paid money for, EA expect you to pay more. They take advantage of people's love for a series by slapping everything they want behind a paywall. The entire progression system is based around randomized loot boxes that can be bought with real money or earned in-game through HOURS of gameplay just for one. Almost everything you love about Star Wars is in these loot boxes and can't be played with when you first launch the game. The hero classes, which include series icons such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca all require nearly 40 hours of play time for a single one.

    Wow, I still can't believe what a missed opportunity this game was. As much fun and epic as the multiplayer is, it's SEVERELY crippled by the ridiculous and greedy loot crate system.

    Game mechanics broken by progression being gated behind long grinds or paying for fake currency. Multiplayer imbalanced by pay to win loot crates. If you want all your future games to include a Gambling for Kids feature then go ahead an buy it. Not me. Most disappointing implementation of a star wars IP ever including anything featuring Jar Jar Binks.

    A free to play game that's being sold at a full price. The publisher is being disingenuous trying to justify the insane microtransactions and lootboxes. The whole game is balanced to milk the most amount of money out of the player. If you're not paying you are going to get destroyed by the people that did pay. However 3 hours ingame will get you the credits needed for unlocking them due to the ingame reward system for completing challanges. Yes- putting money into the game will allow you to access some items faster, but it doesn't unlock things the way people make it sound. And you cant unlock new primary weapons with cash either.

    All in all i think its a great game, and the idea of free DLC is awesome. Having the community split up with paywalls was a big mistake in battlefront and battlefield 1...!    … Expand

    Pissing in a puddle is more fun than playing this game. EA should fire whoever was in charge of this gambling machine they developed. I actually don't wish anyone to lose their job over this...but take a good look at what you've done. This is not gaming. This is not "fun". Time for EA to press the reset button...they've gone way too far and hopefully they'll pay for it.

    The game looks great and plays great....
    The graphics are phenomenal and it has a somewhat okay campaign
    The Atmosphere is true to the star wars universe as will as the music and sound
    but with all the lootboxes and what the game is doing to the industry as a whole, i simply can't sit and not give the game A 0/10.

    Biggest disappointment of all time.
    Except from the awful loot boxes and Pay 2 win progression system, the gameplay isn't good. Battle objectives are clumsy and fight not readable, way to much arcade, characters can't event jump over small walls or rocks...

    Somewhere in here is a good game, but it is buried underneath one of the most predatory and awful micro-transaction systems that we have seen in gaming. As a community we really need to all speak out again this and make all the publishers aware that we will not tolerate these systems in our games.

    Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
