At heart Sekiro plays more like an unique mix of Soulsborne & Dishonored, with obvious parallels to the Tenchu series, yet combat is so ridiculously focused. Every single encounter is designed with rhythm and personality in mind – once you learn a bosses pattern, you'll be able to dominate him on every following playthrough. You don't just get used to the controls, but rather fully embrace their simplicity and focus. Enjoyed the game so much, I felt the need to 100% complete it immediately. Expand

I can not stress enough this game isn't for everyone, and most won't even give it a a chance to grow on you. But its been a long time since I have been proud to have beaten a game, let alone one section of the game... this was it. First From Software game I wasn't able to finish. :( Rage quit at the headless monkey boss fight after over a dozen tries. Maybe I'm getting old. I am definitely in the "this is way harder than dark souls" camp. It's not the game's fault though that I failed to git gud. Frigging amazing piece of art.

Sekiro ruined Dark Souls for me. Going back to Souls games after playing Sekiro just feels so rough, and I'm a huge fan of the Soulsborne series with hundreds of hours invested in each game. The combat in Sekiro makes Dark Souls combat feel clunky and boring by comparison, which I never would have expected.

    Site positif de SEKIRO :
    1. Le jeu a une histoire

Every boss requires you to adapt a new strategy. Then, there comes the two final bosses, One requires you to master everything you have learned so far, Isshin the Glock Saint and Demon of Cheese and the other requires you to abandon everything you have learned so far.

In some ways it is more forgiving, such as save points being much closer together, but the game still required split-second reflexes and a fine attention to details. Sekiro’s level design is much more vertical than Tenchu, so when overwhelmed, there is almost always a way to maneuver out it like a true Ninja would. The stealth elements of Sekiro allow you to get into many positions for silent assassinations or simply explore the varied environments. The trailers never featured much stealth footage, but it is actually very stealth heavy. Players could sneak past around 95% of the game, but it would be unwise to miss out on the experience points. FromSoftware's best game since Dark Souls
    - fresh setting
    - reduced RPG elements
    - fast-paced combat

Sekiro is by all means deserving all praise. The exploration, storytelling and visuals are on par with, and at times even surpass From Software’s older games, however the combat itself has been overhauled massively which makes Sekiro their best game to date.

Overall, Sekiro is defined by its riveting, challenging, and ultimately highly rewarding gameplay. Stemming from simplicity but giving a wide variety of different combat options, few games come close to matching the exhilarating rush that Sekiro’s best moments provide. Exploring its atmospherically engrossing levels is a treat, from a visual, musical, and atmospheric standpoint. Even if exploration and character storylines are sometimes hampered by Dragonrot, repeatedly severing the immortality of bosses with brutal “Shinobi Executions” and discovering the ritual secrets of eternal life offers a captivating experience that stands out as one of FromSoftware’s best and most distinctive titles.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an enjoyable, yet deeply challenging game. It's not really a Dark Souls with samurais game, but whether or not you enjoyed the difficulty level of the battles in Dark Souls will be a good benchmark in gauging how much you'll like Sekiro. If you're persistent, up for a challenge, and don't become frustrated easily, then Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an easy game to recommend.
