    Masterpiece is really the only word i can use to adequately describe this project. Every facet is brilliant.

    -The Graphics and the new RE Engine has been buffered and worked on since its RE7 debut and its out of this world -Voice acting is great (looking at you Marvin :) ) - Level Design is amazing and backtracking done just right -The atmosphere is perfect. Its scary. -Gameplay    Masterpiece is really the only word i can use to adequately describe this project. Every facet is brilliant.

    -The Graphics and the new RE Engine has been buffered and worked on since its RE7 debut and its out of this world
    -Voice acting is great (looking at you Marvin :) )
    - Level Design is amazing and backtracking done just right
    -The atmosphere is perfect. Its scary.
    -Gameplay mechanics feel so good. Mr X comes at just the right time as your getting used to the station to put you back on edge. Ammo is scarce. The game is tough but fair.

    My one gripe is I wish the puzzles were more difficult some can be too simple.

    The atmosphere is on point, bringing horror back to resident evil. I welcome the 3rd person camera, and the return to the police station offers some great nostaligia. Zombie behaviour and procedural damage is probably the best I've ever seen, making you feel part of a horror movie. The 4 main campaigns offer some additional replayability, although each person will probably find a favouriteThe atmosphere is on point, bringing horror back to resident evil. The 4 main campaigns offer some additional replayability, although each person will probably find a favourite among the arrangements. Hunk and Tofu(s) return, along with a handful of super weapons to unlock through rankings, all offering a decent sized package. On the downside, as a RE4 fan, I feel like much of that game has been left to die and sadly the combat of this game doesn't come close to RE4's, nor does it have the variety of weaponry, upgrades and lacks the specifics of the inventory system. There are also not that many enemy types (which you could argue was a restriction of the source material in a way, but I feel there was room for a few additions). On top of this, Mr X's behaviour can be irritating at times, rather than horrific. Once you learn his rules, there are times when you're just running around trying to get thing done and he's wasting time rather than feeling like a threat. Also for me personally, I found the random head durability of the zombies to be aggravating at times, as you never know if they will take 12 shots or even just 1. So the optimum way to deal with most enemies is actually to run away, which doesn't suit my play style. With all this said, I feel like this is the second strongest RE game, after RE4. It beats the original and all other RE games in my view.… Expand

    This is a great remake. Capcom is setting a new high standard for remakes. They perfected the spooky atmosphere. I usually don't care about visuals but the graphics are incredible, too.

The game is a chore to play from start to finish, SCARCE ammunition, EXTREMELY STRONG ZOMBIES, why the expletive they made the zombies so damn strong????!!! 15-20 bullets (all in the head) to kill a zombie and 5 shotgun shells+ 5shotgun bullets to kill a licker (without missing). That is just plain annoying, the Birkin boss is nearlyONE OF THE WORST RESIDENT EVIL GAMES EVER MADE! The hitbox detection is a complete disaster, zombies will ALWAYS grab you even if you are far from them, if you are within 1 meter range, they will attract you like a magnet and grab you. Leon looks so weak, awkwars and the whole game has nothing to do with the original, they forgot to play the original, no creepy music, no atmosphere, no fixed camera angles, no crows, no spiders, no badass Leon and Claire, westernized characters, cheesy voice acting plagued with unnecessary swearing, and plenty of bugs filling this broken game. I am a long Resident Evil fan, I have played the classics as a child, and this one is a spit in the face to me… Expand

    A remake that looks like a whole new game but doesn't loses the original core and essence of the game, implements new mechanics and perfect the already known ones to innovate and at the same time still be Resident Evil at its best not leaving the survival horror elements aside for the action aspects of the game like previous deliveries of the franchise.

    This game is short. Way too short and very slow. If you could run faster or non stop then you would be able to complete it in 5 hours. It doesn't last more than 10 or 11 hours if you are slow and exploring everything like me. Not worth the price. Get it cheap if you can and I would recommend Resident Evil 7 over this. It's much better.

    Technically it is OUTSTANDING, graphics, sound, gameplay, etc. The story is the same than the original with a few changes for those who played the 1998 version and want to find something new. It is familiar, but different.

    This game is not only one of the best games ever. It is probably, one of the best remakes ever made. Maybe only the remake of the first Resident Evil for GameCube, and now on the current generations on HD, is on the discussion.

    The only thing I missed were more differences in A-B scenarios (1st and 2nd Run), and more interaction between booth characters during the story. Probably the original made better this aspect. But still, again, this game is a MUST PLAY.

    Came out in January. But probably, having in consideration Sekiro and depending on titles like The Last of Us Part II (if it comes on 2019), it is the main candidate for the "Game Of The Year" 2019 award. Thank you Capcom. Thank you for making Resident Evil scary again. MASTERPIECE.

    Нет моментов,вроде взять автомат или ящик с доп слотами,а другое оставить на следующее прохождение другому герою.Привет оригинал 1998 года,в котором это было.
    Крапком сам не понял что делает,то ли Ремейк ,то ли переосмысление.Получился тупой шутан,как и РЕ4 и далее.

    Compre el juego de salida, y puedo decir que es sin dudas el mejor juego del año, y de la generación! Sin palabras Resident Evil 2 es una obra maestra en todos los apectos, y a nivel visual en gráficos y detalles está a otra nivel!

    The story is amazing just like the original, with a few changes which make the game more interesting and re-playable in my opinion

    The Second run although not as good as the original second run is still amazing which unlocks new weapons and the true ending, it is also re-playable as most likely you will want to do all runs with both the characters which are my favourite in the franchise Claire and Leon.

    This is a must for zombie or horror gamers which won’t let you down, this is Capcom at its finest but also 2019 at its best.    … Expand

    This is the only game in this year that made me feel the way RE2 did, though i've played a lot of games this year and there are really good games but this is the best for me, The sense of horror, the way you solve a puzzle is too similar to the original one but with a modern gameplay style, and i am a hardcore fan of this game soo yeah this is my GOTY

    DIVERSIÓN. La diversión en este juego empieza con el primer zombie al que enfrentas, manteniéndose hasta el final.

    GRÁFICOS. El juego luce espectacular y muy fluido (60fps)

    SONIDO. La banda sonora del original era perfecta. En este juego han decidido quitar la música para poner sonidos y ruidos ambientales. El doblaje al español es bastante bueno.

    DURACIÓN. La primera partida te puede durar 10h, pero estas aumentan con los distintos modos de juego que tiene y su gran rejugabilidad.

    La conclusión es que este re2 remake es una obra maestra y juegazo que supera al original menos en la historia. Muy recomendado. Mi GOTY 2019, antes de probar Death Stranding.

    Best Resident Evil to date. You have to try it! Now the time is right for Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake. Capcom could even take resident evil 1, 2 and 3. Dont change the gameplay but just update the graphics and cut scenes to a remake standard.

    I want to mention the characters look like preteens. That's the first thing I noticed. That alone ruins any believability in the characters having any depth or that the creators have any thought of trying to make an intelligent game. Next clue was a sign on a two way street that says "one way". Next the game says explore. It's nothing like the original. Graphics don't and never will make a game good contary to the claims here. And they're not even very good. It looks just like the other modern terrible RE released.     - 1 балл за то что прохождение за второго персонажа, хоть и отличается, но не кардинально.    Никогда не был фанатом Resident Evil, но демка этой игры очень впечатлила, механика, противники, лвл-дизайн, стрельба и конечно же сюжет, жду ремастер 3'ей части, ибо в 4ртую я играл.

    Fantastic graphics, atmosphere, sound and gameplay. I love this game. The story is ok and the bosses are a little bit lame, otherwise this game would get 10 points.

    I'm a huge RE fan. Been playing since RE1 came out way back when and to see what CAPCOM did to remake this game is a 10 out of 10 no question. This game has 0 issues for me. It's a true gem and GOTY contender imo.
    If you have not gotten this game thinking you've already played the original and there's nothing new here you're wrong. Pick this up and see why this game is a 10!

    I'm truly lost of words this game sucks ass to short I've been playing this game since it first came out and Ican't believe they will charge 70 bucks for a bundle pack and the story mode 2 hrs long .. y'all have to do better.... this is really the end of resident evil y'all **** suck for this..

    I did love the original back in the day, and I know this remake was restrained a bit by having to stick to certain gameplay elements, but it just felt too clunky in this day and age. Noticed it the most in boss fights the most.
    Like the original tho, the game gets under your skin in a real foreboding way, so points for that.     The narrative ,however, is kinda messy, Characters dying in two differents ways at the same time, character personality and background barely explained, the game doesn't offer a single clue of which scenarios are canon. If you like storytelling and narrative this game is gonna left you hanging just like THAT corpse in THAT room. But somehow the cutscenes makes it up for it, they're feel really important and well produced, the characters voice acting is amazing, especially Annette Birkin, and then we have Leon with his "Ok" performance (not actor's fault it was clearly the voice acting director's).

    + Very enjoyable with a great replay value and lots of content.
    + Probably the best zombie game ever. The zombie design, details, animations and graphics are easily the best of all time.
    - The B scenarios could have been a bit more different.

Resident Evil 2 completely reshapes and redefines the older game and retools the game for a modern audience whilst keeping true to the resident evil formula, and acting more as a homage to Resident Evil 2, instead of completely trying to replace it.

    I completely recommend checking out the game. The Gameplay is buttery smooth, the difficulty is challenging yet not impossible. I finished the game in roughly 10 hours taking my time and exploring as Leon, I haven't touched the claire walkthrough yet, but I plan to after a bit of a break.

    Overall it was ok. Liked it enough to beat it but I would have liked a bit more action. Definitely more of a puzzle game more than anything else.

    As a long time fan of the original game, I can say with clear conscious that while this isn't the perfect remake, or one that tables the original by any stretch, it stands amongst one of the best in the series simply for the perfect fusion between the OTS perspective and the classic RE survival mechanics of the original titles.     Resident Evil 2 Remake became one of my favourite games of all time. It's utterly terrific. The game is short but is almost perfect in each detail and Capcom must invest in this mechanics for now on. The soundtrack, the environment, the gameplay and the survival horror is BACK! It's definitely 10/10 game and you must play it.

It elevates the RE2 experience in every possible way and delivers a tense survival horror game with tight gameplay that feels modern and fresh while remaining sufficiently faithful to the original.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Take an absolute classic game from the PSone era, and infuse it with today's tech while keeping the rest pretty much the same, and you've got a legendary release on your hands. This game is quite impressive from a technical standpoint and the team did a fantastic job of bringing the old settings to life in the time of full 3d. Just like the original, the atmosphere is chilling and supplies are scarce. Zombies once again pose a threat. Dark hallways are terrifying with the excellent HDR lighting.

    Small tweaks to the story flesh out the original tale but I like how they kept things as close to the original as possible with a just few new additions and areas to explore. Updating MIster X to an unrelenting threat also is a plus as it ratchets up the tension to the max.

    However, if I had one gripe with this game, it's basically that there is no way to incapacitate Mr X completely. I think they could have made like a little puzzle where you set a trap for him and he's out until the next scripted event where he appears. Or if you choose the option of using exorbitant amounts of precious ammo to take him down maybe he could stay down until you get to the next area. It's a good trade off letting you decide how to play. Run and save ammo, or take him down for a while. They could've have just shown a little cut scene of him getting back up like in the original game, setting up the next sequence where he appears to make you poop your pants again. I think it's a great concept but it gets annoying when he constantly interferes with puzzle solving. It's less of an issue on a second play-through since you should be familiar with the map by then. It also barely makes sense that he doesn't chase you into certain rooms even though he clearly sees you enter them, like storage rooms.

    Honestly, this remake has exceeded my expectations in every way despite that minor flaw. It goes to show how old becomes new again. The design of this game was solid enough back when it came out to earn legendary PSone status. A fresh coat of paint shows why the original was so good, and with many QOL additions (like a map that updates as you go along), this game makes it hard to deny its excellence. Also, no bugs or glitches so far and a ton of extra modes to play through.

    This may even be the game of the year, no joke. I actually hated RE7 and never even finished it, so I had my worries about this game. There is no real reason not to play this as it's one of the best out this year. Unless of course you scare easily.    … Expand

Now to why this game is great, where do I start, first of all let me just say that this is by far the most intense and most nerve wracking RE game to date BY FAR, for the people that are saying otherwise are either people that A) didn’t really play the game because muh no fixed camera angles (and I love fixed camera btw) or B) Went into the game already with a negative perception and didn’t truly give it a chance. I realize everyone is different and certain things scare different people and all that, but speaking as someone with years of playing horror games including the revered Silent Hill and Fatal Frame series, not to mention all the other mainline RE games, believe me when I say this game blows all other RE games out of the water in terms of horror (REmake and RE7 are a close 2nd and 3rd respectively) and compared to the original the characters are much more believeable and this time around the dialogue is actually REALLY GOOD. All the environments were given a massive upgrade, yes it’s a shame there’s no factory, but I’ll take what we got over the environments of the old game. The side characters are given a lot more depth, and people say they miss the pre-rendered backgrounds due to the small subtle details of what went down (I can agree somewhat with that) but there’s is just as much of not more of that in this game, like the woman laying on the floor next to the shutter on the 2nd floor of RPD, tells the player that something went down and she sacrificed herself to help people get away, or the graveyard of people being buried, the showers being destroyed (my money is on Nemesis), just so much care and detail went into this game and it makes me happy they really did what they could to make an amazing game. The gameplay is bar none the peak of the RE series, I understand there’s people that prefer Fixed camera and FPS and I get it, but as far as OTS this is easily the best we’ve gotten so far in any RE game period. The shooting is smooth and accessible but still challenging due to the reticle and the need to really aim to get a good shot adding in realism. This is not only my favorite RE game, this is my favorite game period, surpassing the REmake after 16 years of that game taking the top spot. After this game, RE7, DMC5, MM11, SFV (after updates and fixes obv) and of course MHW, it’s safe to say Capcom is BACK and I’m very optimistic of what the future holds with future realeases, hoping that RE3R and RE8 hold the same quality as RE2R and RE7. Great time to love survival horror again!!… Expand

Capcom is really on the ball this year between this and DMC5.
    The graphics are incredible, far better than any RE game before this and some of the best in any game period. The music and sound effects are also top-notch, truly eerie and horrifying. The audio component adds a whole new layer to the horror elements. This game has actually managed to scare me quite a few times. I would put it right up there with Silent Hill in terms of atmospheric creepiness. They definitely ditched the action-oriented gameplay style of RE5 and RE6 for something that truly feels like "survival horror" again.
    The combat is much more reminiscent of the older RE games. It's no longer a cover shooter but there is still some of the tactical weaponry from the newer entries. I think this is a great way of blending the two styles in a very fitting approach to combat. Many of the series' staples are still used such as typewriters, herbs, item boxes, keys, etc. It also goes back to the more puzzle-like nature of the original RE games.
    The enemies are truly hideous in a glorious way. Such high levels of detail applied to almost every enemy character model. Lickers and dogs are more terrifying than ever before. Zombies behave more like the zombies from the classic RE games. I always thought the newer entries were ridiculous for having zombies that can use guns.
    One of my only real complaints is against the amount of RNG based damage that zombies seem to have. Sometimes I can blow a zombie's head off in one shot, but other times they can take ten bullets to the head before going down permanently. This seems completely unbalanced and can be truly frustrating on Hardcore mode when your ammo is already scarce. I also sometimes don't like the character movements. They don't seem to run fast enough at times which ends up getting me screwed over in a boss fight. It would've also been nice to at least have the ability to roll or something, which could've easily been mapped to the circle button. This would've been a great way to expand the combat options, instead we just get the old-fashioned 180 spin turn. Another grievance, although this is completely superficial, is that Claire's character model... isn't quite as attractive as some of the more recent games like Revelations. This is a matter of personal taste, but I find her face to be kind of awkwardly designed.
    Overall this is a fantastic entry to the franchise. Resident Evil has almost never been better. This remake certainly falls in line with the remakes of RE1 and Zero in terms of quality. Now we'll just have to wait and see if we can get an awesome version of RE3 as icing on the cake.
    P.S. I see some people review bombing the game for "blasphemy" LOL, you're playing a game like Resident Evil and expect to not hear any blasphemy? People cry about anything nowadays.    … Expand

The structure of the puzzle reminded me of the old games. It smiled at me. I like collectible items. BUT The main scenario is pretty short. Some errors reflected in gameplay are frustrating. There are script scenes. AS A RESULT, we have Resident Evil 2 (yes the old one) but with great graphics and new technology. So don't waste a time, buy it.… Expand

    This is the best zombie game I have ever played. OMG! It's fun, creepy, strategic, with great lore. My favorite parts about this game are Hardcode Mode and the 4th Survivor. Once you understand the whole story, you will realise how badass the 4th Survivor character is, and how he was truly the first survivor of RE2.

    I haven't played resident evil 2 since ps1 and it was one of my games as a kid. The 2019 remake looks and feels so much better then the original. The RE engine makes this classic look amazing. The one the shoulder camera instead of the fixed camera is such an improvement and it doesn't sacrifice the scare factor. I loved opening doors in real time and not waiting for a long loadingI haven't played resident evil 2 since ps1 and it was one of my games as a kid. Game controls feel good even though I could be spaz sometimes and spray my gun shots. The item management is all there and I kept hoarding ammo till the end boss. Takes about 8 hours to play one campaign, and is totally worth playing through both Clair and leon's story campaign. Even though you play through the same locations the story and variations between the locations is enough to keep it fun. Plus its totally worth getting the true ending! I found Leon's campaign to be a little harder then Claire's. I loved this REmake and I pray that they do a remake of 3!… Expand

    Una obra maestra, gracias Capcom, mucha gente llevaba años esperando este REMAKE, cuando parecía imposible de repente con un simple trailer ya ganasteis el E3, pero es que el trabajo que habéis realizado es una pasada, el reimaginar el juego en nuestra época sin perder la esencia, la jugabilidad, no pierde ritmo en ningun momento, los gráficos impresionantes a veces foto realistas , elUna obra maestra, gracias Capcom, mucha gente llevaba años esperando este REMAKE, cuando parecía imposible de repente con un simple trailer ya ganasteis el E3, pero es que el trabajo que habéis realizado es una pasada, el reimaginar el juego en nuestra época sin perder la esencia, la jugabilidad, no pierde ritmo en ningun momento, los gráficos impresionantes a veces foto realistas , el sonido terrorífico en 3D que hace que te metas de lleno en le juego...por no contar 2 campañas, con 3 modos de dificultad, que al terminarlas tienen el modo plus, así que son casi como 4 campañas mas los DLC gratuitos de supervivientes, así si Capcom, ahora a por el RE3 Nemesis remake.… Expand

    Resident Evil 2 is a wonderful recreation of a believed original that, not only recaptures the glory of that game, but also improves upon it from a visual and gameplay standpoint. All in all, don’t miss out on this one.
