    Capcom pleased all players with a remake of one of the best games in the Resident Evil series. The original second part was a very eventful and intense adventure for its time. The developers were able to convey all those feelings from the 1998 game to new players in a completely remade game.     De lejos el mejor Remake que se ha hecho hasta la fecha. Todo lo hace bien, especialmente el sonido, sin duda la mejor parte de la experiencia, es muy inmersivo. Era necesario sin duda esta puesta a punto. Gracias Capcom.

    A great game. It just lacked a little more attention with the crossing of the campaigns. And besides, not developing more of the secondary characters' stories was a missed opportunity.

    A true remake faithful to the original game. Well worth the wait and huge replay value. With the free DLC added too there are many scares to be had. Worth every penny and fresh scares will bring you back to 1998

    The game have a few problems. But it comes back to do what RE games have to-do. Show you in a situation where you are almost defenseless and with almost no resources. You have to survive with all that you can save. The problem is the bosses who are just a pain in the a** and a bullet sponge. Alongside with it, the story was messed with continuity problems.     The best Remaster game I've ever play!!!; easier than the original series. the scenario with Leon far better than Claire's. it also has a lot of bonuses to unlock. ,of course it doesn't have any variety in weapons, you got exactly the same as before. we wait for day 3 of the day.

    That game is the best game I played this year hands down. Got it for 25$ on sales during the quarantine and it was a great buy. Played through it 4 times in one week. Created an account only because I wanted to give it a rating.

    MASTERPIECE. If you like the RE saga and the old games this is what I call a true revival of the series. Everything is great, if not perfect. A must have of the Survival Horror genre, and I hope him and RE3 Remake prove developers there is still a wide audience for real horror games!!

    Annette morre em 2 momentos diferente, Leon e Claire mau se encontram e o gameplay é idêntico pra ambos os personagens, mas o jogo é bonito, divertido, aterrorizante, nostálgico, trouxe muitas novidades, aprofundou muito mais na história dos personagens e a dificuldade esta na medida certa! Muito mais pontos positivos que negativos, só não dei nota 9,5 porque não tem como.

    It is frustrating, can be monotonous, and adds very little to the experience of the original. but it also takes the core gameplay, which is very much a game of navigating maps, memorizing locations, figuring out maps and managing resources, and makes it as good as you remembered the original to be, but if you go back now and play the original you are shocked that it once impressed you.

    An awesome game. Some things are annoying like there is no way to get shotgun and kill them all. But I think other games exist for such gameplay. Before playing this game I've bet Resident Evil 1 HD Remastered and I would say that developers made totally the same atmosphere but with modern mechanics. Looking forward for the 3rd part.

    This game pushes the boundaries for what video games can be just like its predecessor. Fast paced, action packed, third person combat with dynamic set pieces, an epic soundtrack. Truly feels like a Hollywood blockbuster. Worth playing hundreds of times. Never gets old. Just EPIC!

    I may be back to edit this review as I haven't yet completed the game, but from what I've played so far, I really don't like it.
    For starters, how would a game this difficult have so many positive reviews, you really have to do that? fake reviews, really? You expect me to believe that such a troubled game would appeal to so many people?
    Where's all the ammo, why am I picking up ammo,    I may be back to edit this review as I haven't yet completed the game, but from what I've played so far, I really don't like it.

    Where's all the ammo, why am I picking up ammo, but then there's only 3, when there is clearly like 10 in the picture.....why is my flashlight beam so small, why are dogs running around me about 20 times faster than I can move the cursor....There's no way these reviews are legit... this game really does suck hard from what I've played so far. I don't even want to play when you make it so difficult. Game should come with a troll warning because that's what it is.
    Can I remind you of something Capcom....I GAVE YOU MONEY FOR THIS GAME. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO TROLL ME. MAKE ME PAY MORE MONEY FOR AN INFINITE WEAPON< JUST SO I CAN ACTUALLY ENJOY IT BECAUSE YOU WON'T PUT ENOUGH AMMO IN THE GAME.     The game is a master peace. Capcom has exceeded expectations and is possibly there best game to date. The events are slightly different to the original, but I'm glad it isn't. It's absolutely terrifying, especially wondering the gloomy, dark corridors of the Raccoon City Police Department.

The music and atmosphere is great. After completing the game 2 times (that’s how much it needs to be completed to complete the plot), I thought it was 10/10, but the plot had serious failures, because You didn’t play a parallel story, but an alternative one. Be prepared for this. (It didn’t affect my impression, but still). Before my review, I found the review in a negative way, and in particular, I was ready to agree with it. Because I didn’t play the original, I didn’t know that if you took a bag and a unique weapon for Leon in the first passage, then in Clair 2, they would not be there. Thus it can be said that
    Capcom was tricked. But despite this, this is a great remake and to feel it, put hardcore :) My rating is 9/10. Enjoy the game)    … Expand

    This is a concrete evidence that Capcom has climbed it's ways to the golden age they once had, from the disaster of Resident Evil 6 to the "rise from ashes" of Resident Evil 7 to this. Capcom definitely started to make many kickass games and became one of my favorite AAA company, good job Cappy!

After Resident Evil 7 brought back the series to its roots, they took the greatness of that game, used same engine & remixed the best qualities of all Resident Evil games into 1. Completed multiple times on both easy & hard modes. Whatever you play it on, the difficulty is finely balanced. I gainedI’ve played this game all year. No matter how many replays, the thrills keep coming. After Resident Evil 7 brought back the series to its roots, they took the greatness of that game, used same engine & remixed the best qualities of all Resident Evil games into 1. Completed multiple times on both easy & hard modes. Whatever you play it on, the difficulty is finely balanced. I gained confidence to try harder modes because Ghost Survivor had very tense missions that extended replay. If you beat them all, you unlock a horde mode that is hands down the best DLC extra I’ve ever played.

    You need to stay alive while eliminating 100 zombies in a shop at a gas station. It trained me to think strategically. Found that zombies can’t grab you if you dislocate their arm joints by shooting weak spots. Sometimes zombies will die with one single shot if you can locate their weakest arteries. Id also like to give a shout out to the gore system in this game. It reminded me of House of the Dead where you can blow individual pieces of a zombie’s flesh off. Was awesome when I blasted a shotgun at a zombie’s head. Normally it would turn it into a squished water melon, but the hit detection is so realistic that I carved the flesh around its skull. Was certain there was no way zombie could survive that but was mistaken & got mauled by that nasty ghoul.

    Also gave me the incentive to replay the og ps1 RE2. They’ve come a long way even though the old one still holds up artistic & gameplay wise. The story is far more tolerable this time around due to stylized frame work & charismatic performance delivery. Each redesign also surpasses original, though the ps1 game has novel moments for its cheese factor. The only one downside is that the musical score is harder to notice. Had to tweak the volume to hear on TV. Seems like they customized audio to take advantage of speakers & headphones over TV.    … Expand

    Leon and Claire quickly became my two favorite characters in the series. And even now, they still remain my top two.
    Leon: The rookie. With more skill than the well ventured officers. And Claire, the attractive, energetic girl, both taking the top spot of the series.

    The puzzles were good, but I felt like they got a little drawn out towards the end of the game. Yet I still really enjoyed the game. Adding Mister X, hunting you down the entire game, most definitely added a huge kick to the horror aspect to the game. Or at least, really built up a lot of the suspense.    … Expand

    Resident Eveil 2 Remake is of course a remake of the 1998 classic with the same name, the heart of what makes Resident Evil 2 Resident Evil 2 still beats in this updated body.
    Resident Evil 2 is a survival horrors game that tells the story of Leon and Clair, youre able to choose which character to play as.. Your initial playthrough of this game will take around 6 and a half hours, but much like nier automata, technically the fully game is both playthroughs combined, but also like nier automata, nah, when the credits roll, the credits roll. Youre missing only a sliver of unique sections by only playing one side of the story, you can get the rest from youtube as for the most part, each playthrough shares the same main sections and boss fights… I chose to play as rookie officer Leon Kennedy that sets out to put a stop to umbrella corp after an outbreak of a virus turns the citizens of ratcoon city into zombies, This is very much a fetch quest, explore, backtrack, save, combine, set up, and execute type of game.. one that can at first feel quite overwhelming, but once you get into the groove of things its satisfying exploring every inch of a room for key, items, and clues to safes for uprades so that youre able to carry more items in your inventory or upgrade your weapons, and the game does a great job at color coding rooms where you still have items to search for or that are completely cleaned out, so you never feel like youre running around with your head cut off…though in your way of each room are zombies, youlls spend most of your time in the first hours of this game boarding up windows, and trying to gather everything you can to survive as you inch your way through this massive police station, solving small problems that lead to a chain reaction of large problems being solved.. all while being stalked by an invincible monster, but like resident evil 7, the moment the game ventures away from the beginning section into new areas, the game starts to lose its charm and by its end becomes a bit of a chore to get through.. though the keyword here is bit, because it still manages to be enjoyable and it sways on the verge of chore, just as you begin to feel the loop of the game is getting old, its nearing its end… resident evil puts a nice bow on top and gives you the option to do it one more time for more scenarios, cutscenes, and the true ending…
    And this is where I happily walked away.
    Resident Evil 2 does a great job at being an enjoyable and terrifying experience, it doesn’t over stay its welcome, it never becomes frustrating, it never does too much of the same thing… this is a near perfectly balanced survival horror type game.. it stays true to what it was, and brings it up to todays standards so that we can all enjoy it in the way most remember it,

These guys somehow found a way to make zombies scary again and with gameplay this beautifully polished, an atmosphere this terrifyingly immersive, a surprisingly engaging enough story, graphics this crisp even the acting is pretty damn good. Bravo, I say.

    Whilst I dislike the DA (difficulty adjustment) we must also talk about the somewhat awful controls, they have looked to put in the over the shoulder style whilst this is something I wanted they haven't implemented it effectively. Whilst the boring fanatics of the game may argue the controls being manipulated to speed run a game is necessary how can I ignore that other reputable games removing bugs and unintended things that allow people to move quicker than intended whilst Capcom leaves their game a buggy mess? All the stupid bugs and inconsistency in the game will remain just with the lacklustre AI and reliance on DA because the devs are devoid of any creativity. We're on the precipitant of pushing the barriers of gaming creativity look no further than RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 what does RE2:Remake bring to the table? NOTHING!

    Moving towards gameplay which for me is the boring aspect, the entire gameplay is on the basis of doing puzzles, speed running the game... Who is this fun to? A small handful of people, why are you targeting a game with a budget of multi-millions of dollars towards a small crowd? The actual gameplay, boss fights are absolutely piss poor! Absolutely some of the worst boss battles I have ever, EVER seen! I mean, literally what were they even thinking? All the latest technology available and we are talking about a boss battle being no different to fighting a bog standard zombie? Shoot the big glowy eye, really that is it... Such a weak set piece.

    Let us also have a quick little talk about the devs being lazy with audio queues, seriously all of the different pistol types sounding the EXACT SAME!?! Are you kidding me? I will also break this into animations, when shooting the guns it doesn't really seem like you are actually firing a real gun when firing the handguns.

    I will give credit where credit is due whilst RE2:Remake massively fails on gameplay, being fun, consistency and giving a true B scenario it does get the atmosphere right. The game has good nods to the original with the original soundtrack it does somewhat stay true to the original. However I'm not ending it on a positive note because this game is absolutely not GOTY, for once I must say I think Capcom rushed a title its not normally something they would do but I am sure as anything that they have done so with this. It could have been much better but it appeased a very very small portion of their audience and ruined the games replay-ability.    … Expand

    Puzzles are a joke. The game is rated M, why are the puzzles designed for 2nd graders?
    Boss fights are atrocious. They have 'weak points' that you are supposed to target, but they put the weak points on the sides of the body, so the difference between beating a boss is often based on RNG of "which side he is walking to you with exposed". If he is walking with the weak point unexposed, too bad, run around until he decides to walk with the other side leading. If he decides to keep his arm in front of his weak point, too bad.
    As a massive RE fan, it pains me that I could not bear to finish the 4 campaigns of the main story because I actually hated playing the game, something I have only experienced with RE6 prior. I was even able to bear completing RE survivor and Dead Aim and I could not bear playing RE2 remake any more. Si l'on a fait le jeu original sur PS1, il n'y a rien à retenir de ce remake : graphismes décevants pour 2019 (particulièrement au niveau des reflets, dommage pour les égouts et le commissariat en granit qui représentent la quasi totalité de l'aventure), pants entiers du scénario coupés avec ce que ça comprend d'environnements, de mobs et de boss (maigrement compensé par un chapitre inédit très court et inintéressant tant au niveau du gameplay que du scénario alors que "Darkside chronicles" avait brièvement mais efficacement approfondi son histoire en suivant Aida s'échappant de Racoon City. Frustrant), musiques mythiques du jeu original retirées et vendues en dlc, le jeu ignore les excellentes nouveautés apportées par le remake du premier épisode, faux raccords dans les rares cinématiques ce qui rend l'histoire encore plus nanardesque que celle du jeu original, murs invisibles grossiers pour les ennemis comme dans les gens sdil y a 10 ans en arrière. Et je garde le pire pour la fin: alors que l'on attendait de ce remake de supprimer le principal défaut de l'original, à savoir les incohérences/redondances entre les quatres scénarios, ce remake les accentue encore plus alors qu'il n'avait plus que deux histoires à gérer. Donc merci bien le mur à faire exploser deux fois en quelques heures d'intervalle avec la même énigme à résoudre par exemple.

    Si vous n'avez jamais fait le jeu original alors foncez sur l'original. Si vous l'avez fait, restez avec vos souvenirs et partez sur les 2 épisodes "Revelations" qui sont bien meilleurs et modernes.     What can I say? Take the RE2 set up and play it like RE4. What's not to love?
    Ammo is scarce, making every time you step out of a save room daunting. Even standard zombies are dangerous. But it never seems cheap. And it's scary as hell.
    There's some nitpicks, but it's an excellent experience overall.

    Jogabilidade maravilhosa que esse jogo possui, consegue dar vontade de jogá-lo várias vezes, inclusive no intuito de conquistar sua platina na PSN. Na minha opinião foi o melhor remake que já fizeram de um jogo, parabéns a Capcom pelo excelente trabalho!

It is still constantly dark everywhere, such as for escalating fear, but this is a rather cheap trick. Ada Wong have a fantastic device, which allow her see electronics through the walls and switch it. In an underground laboratory, there are huge columns in which luminous matter rotates, like some aliens technology, why it in Resident Evil? Plus stupid announcer messages in the same laboratory, why all this?
    In short, the original remained unsurpassed and all this leads to sad thoughts about the remake    … Expand

    Awesome game! Never played the original, but this game was a lot of fun! Had to watch a lot of YouTube videos in order to figure out where I needed to go and find items that I needed because you literally will get lost at times. The graphics are amazing on my base PS4! This game inspired me to play Dead Space on my PS3 again! Another great game BTW & still holds up for a game from 2008!!!!

    Worst portrayal of Leon and Ada to date due to mediocre voice actors. Slow paced and boring padding due to inventory management back tracking to storage chests. Combat not even a patch on Dead Space or The Evil Within. Boss set pieces seen it all done before and better. Story not even original just a remake.

    The movement seriously this dated and this limited? Even original RE 1 to 5 had a 180 turn movement. Turning in this game is SO slow. Running in this game is SO slow. You know like if these people were obese geriatric asthmatics, but these are like very young fit looking people. Hell even crappy Revelation series had a immersive Alan Wake type dodge mechanic. Limited movement + bullet sponge = lazy contrived difficulty.

    What was with the jank door opening and the general awful camera issues when fighting Lickers. The environments looked visually unimpressive for the most part. Technically other than those few issues the game ran really well. With only one crash on the Claire story line.

    That tank stalker type character just isn't scary or intimidating. I found it more annoying than anything else. Again that type of character has been done better in other games.

    Well at least RE2 remake is better than Umbrella Corps and Revelations series, oh deary me. Mildly entertaining in places with my brain on auto pilot and zoned out for the most part.    … Expand

    Once a masterpiece, always a masterpiece!!

    Capcom has really done it with this amazing masterpiece and have gained themselves the title of King of Remakes!! This game is absolutely what I could've asked for. It has got RE4's view that actually fits perfectly! This game is a must play for everybody!!!

The puzzles in this game aren't too difficult to solve, but I found myself sometimes getting lost in the RPD and not knowing where I was going. The Tyrant stalking you is the perfect feature of this game, and if you haven't learnt the map by then, it can make the game a lot harder. All in all, this is a great game every gamer should at least try… Expand

    To be honest, this was my first time ever playing a Resident Evil game and to say I was blown away would be an understatement. I love this game from top to bottom and it was probably among my favorite video game experiences ever, which is saying a lot.     One of the best games of the decade, and the best Remake ever. The graphics are beyond good, the story is still one of the best in the RE Franchise, and the new combat is amazing. Playing as Leon and Claire is fantastic and the enemies are visually stunning.

    Highly overrated but a good game. It is no chance that RE2 Remake is better than RE4, but of course that is my opinion. This game represents a decent story with interesting characters and have some great and scary moments, but the overall experience is okey. It's a kinda game we all have played before so I give it a 8/10.

    Having never played the original RE2, this was a chance for me to play essentially a new Resident Evil game. I think it's a little odd how the rooms work now, but it is better with the RE4 point of view. I haven't finished it because I got too spooked when Mr. X killed me, either way it is a very fun game and I highly recommend it.

    I played the version for nintendo 64 way back in the day. I love how they stuck with most of the same elements. This game was definately worth every cent and its one ill replay over and over.

    That's how a remastered should be done. One of the best horror games to date. Smooth gameplay, feels oldschool but is unique in it's own way. Must Play for every Resident Evil or horror genre fan.

    They took Resident Evil 2 and remade it from the ground up. Very well made. I can't wait to see what they do with Resident Evil 3.

    Resident Evil 2 is a wonderful recreation of a believed original that, not only recaptures the glory of that game, but also improves upon it from a visual and gameplay standpoint. All in all, don’t miss out on this one.
